Preferred Solution: IE toolbar missing Windows 7

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Logged on to my pc this morning and once signed in I got a desktop with no icons on it, simply my background picture. I also have no toolbar at the bottom of the screen and therefore no start menu. One thing did open though, a copy of windows explorer. From explorer I have been able to access most programmes and all are working fine. The desktop is totally inactive, cant even right click it to change settings.

Having managed to find system restore from windows explorer I've rolled the system back to each of the last 3 restore points, none of these make any difference.

I have full network access still, and through ie6 I've been to microsoft site, downloaded all recent updates and again no joy.

I'm running the latest version of AVG antivirus, and the system appears to be clean. Any Ideas?

I'm running XP SP2 on ASUS VM motherboard and AMD Athlon 2800 with 512mb RAM

Sounds like you have nail.exe or something near it. Run hijackthis and post a log. Do NOT fix anything hijackthis finds it could harm your OS.

My Document Folders (i.e. My Documents) doesn't show:

Forward and back buttons
Toolbar
Address bar
Headings
The search box

That is right all document folders are completely blank at the top of the window. Everything I have ran across states to open “VIEW” from the “TOOLBAR” and then click “CUSTOMIZE” and then ADD…

See images: “Window without TOOLBAR” and “Window showing missing..”

I do not have a TOOLBAR to get into VIEW. There must be away to correct this and restore my TOOLBAR. I would be very grateful for any help. I have spent hours trying to resolve this, and would be very grateful for any help.

Answer:Windows Mail ToolBar Missing

I noticed something in your image that might be the clue to solving this. On the left side of that blank toolbar area, I see 3 solid vertical lines and, to the left of them, a dotted/dashed line. Hover your mouse over one of those vertical lines and see whether your mouse pointer changes to a double-pointed arrow or some other pointer. If it changes, press your left mouse button down and try to drag the vertical bar to the right. If you can't move the solid vertical bars, try moving the dashed bar. Please report back on how it went.

I turned on my computer today and it began to boot up normally. After the Log On screen, my desktop background appeared on the screen, but no icons or taskbar ever appeared. After a few seconds, an error windows came up labeled "RUNDLL." Inside the window it stated the directory or file was missing.

I attempted to reformat my computer, and after launching the disc using ALT+CTRL+DEL, my desktop and launchbar appeared. I ran Spybot and Adaware that both detected and removed many identified spyware files. I rebooted my machine and once again, no icons or taskbar. I attempted to use ALT+CTRL+DEL again and the Task Manager button was "ghosted" out and unusable. I attempted to reboot only to have Windows log off almost immediately upon logging in. I am at a loss on what to do next.

Answer:missing toolbar on IE6 and windows explorer

Two options, if you like fiddling and are confident with editing the registry then heres the manual option

Close any open Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

There are 3 sub keys: Explorer, ShellBrowser, WebBrowser'

In each of these sub-keys is the entry for ITBarLayout

For IE Toolbars: The WebBrowser Sub-key directly affects IE.
For Windows Explorer Toolbars: The Explorer Sub-key directly affects Explorer.
The ShellBrowser sub-key may affect IE as well. Its effect on IE and Windows Explorer is unknown at this time, so if the first option doesn't work, delete the ITBarLayout value here as well.

Choose the relavent sub-key and right click where it says ITBarLayout and select Delete.

The deleted value will automatically be recreated for you.

You may want to right click on the main key (above) and select Export. This will allow you to backup the contents of the whole key, including subkeys. I would certainly go for the export option (a lot safer)

If you just want to get the job done download and run this

Hi,

In the last 2 weeks my machine has started pausing when booting into Windows. It stalls halfway through loading the system tray icons for around 20 seconds during which time the start bar dissappears. It then starts up again, the start bar loads and it finishes booting up although there are less icons in the system tray than I would usually expect e.g. volume control although it is enabled to be shown in the system tray in control panel.

I've ran my installed McAfee and Kaspersky online but nothing. I use Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware regularly and they're not reporting anything either.

Odd! Can you help please? Thanks in advance

I'm using windows xp.

When I right click on Start and then go to Explorer, my standard toolbar and buttons are missing. I've tried everything - right clicking, that only gives me the choice to close the "toolbar" which are just all the folders on the left on the screen.

When I go to my computer from the start menu on XP, the standard toolbar and buttons are there, just missing when I right click on the start menu.

I could live without it, but it is my habit to get to my folders that way and it is really annoying not to have the menu options.

Thanks for all your helpl.

Hi All,
For the past couple of days when I logged into my computer I would get the following Windows Registry Recovery Message: One of the files containing the system's Registry had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful. Now, when I log in I no longer get this message...however, I don't see the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The one that shows "START" and what icons you are currently using. Something has gone wrong. I only see the icons on my desktop for my programs. I tried to run norton anti-virus and I get an error message that NAV has encountered an internal program error. It is telling me to un-install and re-install it. I don't have excel as an icon so I tried to right click to see if I could open it by creating a blank sheet on my desktop but I get an error message that says : Cannot use object linking & embedding. When I cancel that error and see if I can open one of my excel files I get an error that Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Do you think I have a virus and will have to re-do/re-configure my entire OS or is there something I can do to salvage my current OS? I have tried to right click from my desktop and can't get into anything like control panel, etc...

Please help.

Answer:Windows XP Missing Start Menu Toolbar

You could try restarting the computer and start tapping F8 on boot up and choose Last Known Good to restore a copy of the registry. Or you could run a repair on XP by booting off of the XP CD and choosing “NOT” the first repair option, but the second repair option. This will install XP overtop of itself. You will not loose anything existing on your system. It will however replace any missing files and overwrite any corrupt files.

Go HERE to find out how.

Many of our readers reported having problems with their Windows Contacts application. It seems that depending on how you configure Windows Explorer, it might happen that the traditional Windows Contacts buttons disappear. If you notice that you no longer have any of the following buttons: New Contact, New Contact Group, Import and Export, continue reading this tutorial and learn how to put them back on your toolbar.
First, launch Windows Contacts. Then, click on Organize and select Properties.
In the Contacts Properties window, go to the Customize tab. Here you can choose the folder type to be used for Windows Contacts. Most probably this is now changed to All Items, Documents or Music.
Beneath the text area that says <em>'Use this folder as a template'</em>, there is a selection box with items. Click on it, select Contacts and then click OK.
Your Windows Contacts toolbar will now return to normal. Original article: Missing buttons from the Windows Contacts toolbar? (e.g. New Contact, New Contact Group)

Windows XP Pro on a Compaq nx9005I have somehow managed to "Lose" the Desktop Icon - the one which usually sits on the toolbar next to the Start button, which minimises all open windows to quickly access the desktop.Any ideas on how to get it back ??Many thanks.

Answer:Missing Toolbar Icon to minimise all Open Windows

First open the C:\Windows\System folder and ascertain whether the 'Show Desktop.scf' file is still there. If it is, just right-click on it and choose Create Shortcut, then drag the shortcut to the Quick Launch area of the Taskbar. Right-click again and choose Rename ? enter 'Show Desktop' as the new name.If the file is nowhere to be found then this link will tell you how to recreate it click here

I noticed today that some screenshots show a yellow star icon to the left of the sign in area on the toolbar that allows you to sync favorites among other items.

You can see it on this example:

Then today when I was setting up a new laptop I notice that it was present on there (laptop has vista 32-bit on).

Ive tried everything such as reinstalling to try and make it appear but its not working. Its not just the icon either, there should be an entry in the toolbar options page which is also missing.

Any ideas?

Answer:Windows Live Toolbar missing sync option

Just figured this one out! It appears to be a service only available in the US currently. So if you want to use it follow these steps:

1. right click on Live Toolbar and select options,
2. go to search and add-ins
3. select united states in country or region.

Windows XP PRO, Quick Launch Toolbar problem. A normal default Taskbar starting from the left has a Start button, two vertical 4 and 3 dot preparations, respectfully, when and if you install the Quick Launch Toolbar, a Button with a double right arrow or more-than sign appears with two vertical 4 and 3 dot preparations, respectfully. The problem: The Button with a double right arrow or more-than sign has disappeared, but the two vertical 4 and 3 dot preparations remain. I am unable to drag and drop any icon, and with any attempt, a black circle with a slash line shows on the icon. I have been unable to find any reference with a 2 week google.com search. I have also paid for, downloaded, installed and tried the utility called "Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!", by Kelly's - Korner web site.., but it did not work. We would appreciate any help.. My computer is acting very strangly lately: - Symantec Antivirus auto-protect turns itself off automatically once a day- The title bar of my different programs (IE8, Explorer, Outlook, Excel) disappears sometime- Start bar is really slow, and sometimes is missing areas- Outlook is working very slowely- Outlook sometimes tells me that my Archieve.pst is in use by another program (even though it is not)- Selecting START - Shut Down does nothing (I have to do a hard shut down with the power button)- Sometimes openning certain programs gives me a MISSING DLL error. But this is not always the case- Seems that the memory for clipboard is really small. Unlike in the past, it does not let me copy images that are of a reasonable sizeI am assuming I have some bad issues. This seems to happen when I am running Outlook and then afterwards, however, it also occurs other times as well. I have huge Outlook files (1 gb max) but that shouldnt cause the other missing DLL and not letting it shut down, I would assume.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. ----------------DDS.txt ----------------DDS (Ver_09-12-01.01) - NTFSx86 Run by EMintz at 13:32:59.60 on Tue 02/02/2010Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600.3.1252.1.1033.18.2047.1039 [GMT -8:00]AV: Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition *On-access scanning enabled* (Updated) {FB06448E-52B8-493A-90F3-E43226D3305C}============== Running Processes ===============C:\WINDOWS\System32\svc... Hi everyone! I need help. IE8 windows xp service pack 3, more specs in my profile. I don't know what happened but my MSN/Bing Toolbar has disappeared. I have tried uninstalling it but I get an error message that it might have already been uninstalled (in control panel-add/remove programs). Tried appwiz, deleted files and rebooted, but when I go to re-install, I get a message that it is already installed on my computer (from microsoft site). From Bing site, it starts to download, then stops 3/4 of the way and says error, try again, and the same thing happens. Another strange thing is that in IE, I go to View, and my Windows Live, and Msn is unchecked. Clicking on MSN only option is to disable, clicking on Windows Live, a plain toolbar shows, however does not show on other Tabs, even after locking and unlocking the toolbars. I have run McAffee and it quarantined Artemis!. I have run SpyBot, and fixed its entries. Please help. I have run HiJackThis and the following is what it found.

This is a bit odd - I have recently changed my ISP but don't suppose that makes any difference. When I did, I changed my home page and the shortcut on my desktop. The next day everytime I opened IE from the desktop it opened with no toolbar/navigation bar. I deleted the shortcut and used the main menu route instead, i.e. START/IE. Now every time I open IE7 the first time, whether from the main menu or a shortcut, there is no toolbar. Does anyone have any ideas? Have I become corrupt?!

Answer:missing toolbar

What toolbar are you referring to, the Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox? Go to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks and see what's in there. The IE favorites should all be in a folder called 'From Internet Explorer'.

You should still be able to use you're favorites in Internet Explorer.

I am using XP and there are 4 users of the PC (aal administrators). In the last few days I have noticed that one of the toolbar options available in Word and Excel (Textbridge - the softawre which came with my scanner) has disappeared from my log in. All other three users still have it available when they log in and use Word/Excel.Hoe do I get the toolbar option back so that I can launch the software? Please note that it is not even available in the View; Toolbars command. It's simply gone walkabout. Why have only I lost it when it's still available for the other 3 users?

Question: Missing toolbar

Just the other day I some kind of crash or something- I seeem to have fixed most everything with ckdisk. The problem is the toolbar that borders the screen- cant' remember- has disappeared. The one that has the home and some others. I have tried everything and I am so frustrated!. Does anyone
know haow I can get it back. I have a screeshot if someone tells me how post. Thanks

Answer:Missing toolbar

Taskbar Toolbars

See if this helps

System restore, from before the crash may help too.
But try the tutorial, first

I think that these things are the first steps that you should try.

Be sure to make an antivirus scan and download and scan with malwarebytes to be sure virus was not the cause of the crash

Also be sure if you use system restore you go back about a week or so, to make sure there are not crash conditions. Be sure to test for virus, before using restore.

Hello, I have been using audacity converter for sometime. I made an error and clicked on the thing to their tool bar and I lost some items, drop down box etc. I have posted on their forum board with the problem and they told me to delete audacity.cfg. I have been unable to find that after a long search of my files and folders.

One person did tell me that what I lost was considered a hidden folder they directed me to a link of this board. Which I tried but that has not worked either. Oh, this msg on the board was to go to folders on the control board and to uncheck several items. That has not worked as well.

Would appreciated any help

Thanks

Answer:Missing Icons and Toolbar

We are having the same issues at my business, it's random, but here is a band-aid fix. When you get to the blank desktop, select "Ctr-Alt-Delete" to open Task Manager. From there make sure "explorer.exe" process is NOT running. If it is not, go to FILE on the toolbar, select "New Task (Run...)", browse to "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" and click "OK". This should bring your desktop up and running. --- Don't get confused between "IExplorer.exe" and "explorer.exe", they are two different processes. One if for the internet browsing, the latter is for your desktop. Hope this helps.....

In the past week for no reason I can fathom, my toolbar icons ( safely remove software & M.S Essentials ) have disappeared from my tray.
I like to see that MS is doing its job & is 'on' & of course it is necessary to have the safe to remove software icon there too as I use USB internet connection quite often. They were there one evening and gone next morning when laptop turned on, I managed to recover them ( after trying several ways that didn't work- as in advice I found in Google and on the M.S website.
I have looked here too but can't find a thread with any info for me.
I finally did a 'System restore' which put them back, but next day gone again !
The only way I keep them on there now is not turn of laptop at all. other than to put into 'standby' mode.
In this tray I have my anti virus, MS security essentials, Malware bytes, Picasa, Onenote, & the safely remove icons. They have been there for long time, I can handle some of them not showing, but it is a darn nuisance with the MS & hardware ones disappearing.
I can't think of anything that has been done to cause this. and it seems after doing a search for a solution no one really knows why it happens.
I have had to do 2 system restores to get them back. Which is I don't think is very good way to do it, Is it ?
I have a locked toolbar, then unlocked it, and have checked out in the task bar properties to make sure these are in the list &... Read more

Have you tried creating another user account in Windows yet? I would do this under Control Panel/User Accounts.

Create that new account, make it be an administrator account, and then setup your prefs and try restarting and logging back in again with that same new account and see if everything stays the same.

As for the TCP/IP stack repair, do this:

I lost my toolbar when I was doing something in outlook express. After I closed out of Outlook Express and went on internet explorer, that when i noticed that it was gone. The only thing that shows up is the address bar and the search bar that was provided by my internet service.

Everytime i try to install a toolbar my browser never starts with the downloads. What can I do go get my toolbar back?

When I booted up this morning, the tool bar that is at the top of the desktop does not start up. Can someone please help me get it back on to my desktop? I've looked online and on the windows help thing, and could not for the life of me find anything on it. Thanks!

A friend of mine has been having problems with his system and I tried to help him out by doing a pc restore (it's a dell). This uses the partition to reload the factory setup. Problem is that originally his desktop toolbar/start button is missing, and even after the restore it's still missing. The icons are still there and can be used. I can use the alt-control-delete to bring up the windows task manager and by clicking on file/new task and typeing in the run bar "explorer" I can bring up windows explorer to get around (don't have access to control panel though). So, what happen to the toolbar and start button for desktop and how do I get it back.
After I did pc restore I loaded ccleaner, avg anti-virus and clean out everything as far as spyware. There was no viruses found.

The only toobar present is for Norton. There is a gear icon that when I click on it opens up the tools functions, but there is nothing in the list for toolbars. What can I do to regain the IE toolbar so that I can have the full function of said toolbar?

I thank you all in advance for any help that you may provide.

I have Comcast high speed and Windows XP on my computer. Not too long ago Comcast gave free McAfee Security to their customers. Not being an idiot I took them up on their offer, as Norton had severed my Anti-Virus with 4 months left on the subscription and would not return my inquiries. Anyway, when downloading Comcast's Anti-Virus,Security and Firewall I also loaded their toolbar.Recently the toolbar disappeared from the screen. I checked the control panel and the program file for the toolbar is still on the computer. I went up under View/toolbar and Comcast is there and checked. I sent 4 seperate e-mails to Comcast support asking for help after un-installing and re-installing the toolbar from Comcast's site failed to produce the toolbar on my screen. Each time I was told to do the un-install/re-install which I had already done on my own. The last time I was told to clear my history and I would get my toolbar back. I cleared the history and still no toolbar. There are a lot of new features on the toolbar I want and I used the previous toolbar often. Since Comcast support doesn't seem to be able to help, can anyone here tell me what to do to get the toolbar to reappear?

I have windows xp and after a security update from micrsoft when I restarted the computer there are no icons or toolbars. I am able to get to some things through the task manager. I have tried many things I have seen on other posts such as Superantispyware, with this I got the BSOD after the scan started. Same thing happened with spybot. I got Stopzilla to scan and says it found and removed things but no change in my problem other than now the icons and toolbar will flash up for a second then disappear now. I tried to download a free McAfee that comes from my ISP and it is on there because when these other programs try to access the internet it tells me so but I cannot find where I can get it to do a scan. Remember I am working from the task manager. I have thought about the hijackthis but when I went to the website it said I would not know how to process the information so did not complete. I have limited knowledge in computers but I think this is a virus so any help here would be appriciated. I forgot, I tried to restore and reinstall windows but my installation disc is a dvd. Although my system has a DVD rom it will not read the restore disc at all does not even aknowledge that there is something in there. If I put a cd of any other sort in there it does read and or play it.

Thanks

What program is this happening in? Try pressing the ALT button on your keyboard. Many new or updated versions of programs don't show the menubar by default (or can be configured to hide it); the ALT key is the standard key to invoke the menubar.

Answer:Floating Office Toolbar Missing

All sorts of suggestions by Microsoft on this page but I like the following method better.

1. Make a new folder somewhere (My Documents will work or any other place you like) and name it what you like - Office will work.
2. Open the new folder and place shortcuts to the Office programs you use into it (One method for creating shortcuts: Right click on a shortcut in the Start Menu, choose Copy, right click inside your new folder, choose Paste)
3. Then right click on the Taskbar, go to Toolbars>New Toolbar and point it at that folder
4. That will place it on the Taskbar as a sort of mini start menu (which is where I keep it) and you can then grab and drag it to any position you like on the screen.
5. If positioned at one of the edges of the screen, you can enable auto-hide if you like by right clicking on it and going to Properties.

Greetings -- I'm new to this forum. I have searched for an answer with no luck so I posted a new thread.

After uninstalling Norton Security and installing the Comcast version of McAfee VirusScan and Firewall on my Win XP computer, the Volume and Safely Remove Hardware icons failed to reappear in the System Tool Bar. They were the only ones there normally. At present I have only the McAfee Icon in the System Tool Bar.

I can temporarily restore the missing icons in two ways:
One, go to the Task Manager select explorer.exe under the Processing tab and click End Process; click the Applications tab, click New Task then enter explorer.exe and click OK.
Two, click on the Sound and Audio Devices icon in the Control Panel, then uncheck the 'Place volume control icon in the taskbar' box; restart the computer, put a check in the 'Place volume .....' box and click Apply.
In both cases the missing icons reappear in the System Tool Bar.
Alas, when I restart the computer they do not reappear; only the McAfee icon is present.

If applications are run which place an icon in the System Tool Bar, they do so properly. If I allow startup applications to place icons in the System Tool Bar (check appropriate boxes in the Startup tab of the System Configuration Utility (msconfig)), they appear OK after the restartup of the computer.

I have made sure that the Volume and Safely Remove Hardware icons entries in the Customize Notifications dialog box of the Task and Start Me... Read more

A friend of mine using Windows XP on her laptop has lost the standard toolbar on outlook express 6. If you right-click on the menu bar and click on toolbar, nothing happens. I have followed the complicated instructions in the MS Knowledge Base to no avail. I also tried uninstalling her Qurb spam filter, but still no joy.A local computer shop says she will need to format the hard drive, but can anyone suggest any further options, to avoid having to do this.

Recently, I moved my Pictures folder from its default location to E drive. Now, whenever I click on the slideshow button, the toolbar(play, pause buttons, etc) that used to appear at the bottom during the slideshow, is not appearing. How do I fix this ? I am using Vista Home Premium SP1 32 bit.

Answer:Slideshow toolbar missing in Vista

go to your user folder on the start menu
select the pictures folder
right click and choose properties
click on the location tab and then click on restore default and then apply
if you are asked to create directory say yes
if you are asked to move files say no
click on move..
navigate to your location on e: and press select folder
when asked to copy files say yes and choose to replace the desktop ini
click ok

that should set up the special folder link on your new folder

you may also want to right click on your folder in in and select customise
in the customise tab select photos and videos as the file type

hope this helps

I am missing everything from my desktop except for the background pic. The only way I can open programs and files is to go through the Windows Task manager and open them individually.
While trying to fix the problem, I noticed explorer.exe is no where to be found.

Has anyone ever heard of this problem and if so, is there any way to fix it without having to reload windows or do a system repair?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Debbie

Firstly, let me apologise, I'm not the most computer literate person...
This afternoon when I turned on my computer, my desktop basically disappeared, everything showed up normally for 10-15 seconds then all my icons and toolbar disappeared, all I could see was my wallpaper.
This has happened to me before so I ran the same program as the previous time (vundofix) which worked for about fifteen minutes, then it all disappeared again. I am able to open programs via the task manager, though it is quite slow.
I have tried creating a new task and running explorer.exe, which temporarily fixes the problem, for 10-15 seconds.

Answer:Missing explorer.exe, desktop and toolbar

sounds like a virus/spyware, optimal solution would be to put your hard drive in another healthy computer and run a virus check on it.

You could possible un-cab explorer.exe from a Windows install disk and try and put it back.

Hello,
Could really use some help on this. I tried searching if anyone else had this problem so if it's out there, if someone could redirect me to the topic where it is already covered that would be great too. I am running windows xp pro. I have tried running super anitspyware, spybot search and destroy, ad aware and nod 32. When I boot up in safe mode everything comes up fine, however when I boot up in normal mode all my dekstop icons and toolbar won't comeup and all I see is my background. All I can do is a ctl+alt+del to get a run cmd going and run a program from there. Any ideas on what is hosing my pc from letting the desktop icons and toolbar load?
Thanks

Answer:Missing Toolbar And Desktop Icons

First try to pull up the start menu (which in turn, will pull up the task bar) by pressing Ctrl+Esc. If the task bar comes up, right click on an empty space on the Taskbar and click on "Properties" . Under the "Taskbar" tab, make sure "Lock the task bar" is checked, and "Auto hide the taskbar" is unchecked. Hope this works.

Answer:Microsoft Word Missing Toolbar

When you right click in the area where the Toolbar is supposed to be, do you have any options?
How long have you had this problem?
Have you installed any new hardware/software recently?

Hi,

I've installed two apps. that place buttons in the IE 6 toolbar: Norton Firewall (which places a 'web assistant' button), and Adobe Acrobat 6 (which places a 'convert page to PDF' button). For a week or so, these worked fine, but on boot-up yesterday they disapeared!
They are not even appearing in the IE 'toolbars' menu any more.

I've re-installed everything, searched the manuals and the relative forums, but have come up blank!

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Well, after the problem about Word2000 not loading and deleteing Normal.dot as described in another thread, I saw something about starting Word.exe /a from Start > Run and I did so in case deleting the Normal.dot hadn't cleared up the non-loading problem...... And now, the NEW PROBLEM: A toolbar is gone The .jpg shows what the complete toolbar looks like now.

The Bold, Italic, Underline letters were on the 2nd toolbar (or whatever its called) directly beneath the Magnifying Glass icon, now they're on the end of this new bar & some other icons are competely gone.

I have xp pro and norton internet security 2006. When I installed it outlook express had a norton anti spam button on the toolbar so you could decide if a message was spam or not & a couple other options. There are 4 users on this computer and I am the only one who has it listed on the toolbar. Why doesn't the others have it and how can I get one there? I clicked on to customize the toolbar so I could add but norton anti spam isn't even listed. My husband would like to have it because quite a few messages that come in go directly to the spam folder but wants them to come in to the inbox. This button gives you the option to say this message isn't spam and don't put it here again. Any suggestions? Thanks

Answer:missing toolbar in outlook express

When you installed it did it give you an option to install for one or all users?Norton's support site wasn't much use, why don't you send them an email? It sounds like it has only installed for one user rather than under "All Users" or for each user (if that isn't stating the obvious!).Installing again under the other users might help but I wouldn't do that without confirmation from Norton or someone more knowledgable than me about this.
