I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: How do I create groups in outlook 2007 with windows 8.1

I presume you have already a (default) contact group in your Outlook (under "Contacts"). Navigation pane is open.Assuming under "My Contacts" there is a folder "Contacts", If you select/click "Contacts" all stored/added contacts will be displayed. From the menu: "File" > "New" > select "New Folder" and enter a meaningful name of the new contact list to be created. Create or copy contacts in the newly created list. Now there are 2 folders containing a list of contacts with the group "My Contacts"To create a new group of contact lists click the blue line "Add New Group". A contact-group called "New group" is added. Rename if needed. For some reason I could not create a new folder in the New Group.Drag an existing folder (contacts list from the existing contact group) to the "New Group".Now you have 2 Contact groups with one or more contact lists.

If you wanted separate contact lists, would you add a new *group* or create an additional Contacts folder? I have always done this with additional contacts folders, and I could still do that EXCEPT that when I sync with iPhone, even though I can see all my folders (in what they call groups)on the iPhone, the General Contacts meshes everything together. If a contact is in my General Contacts and in my additional contact folder, then that contact shows up in the iPhone twice. I have spoken with iPhone tech support, and they don't seem to know what's going on, so I need a work-around.

I was just wondering if using Groups instead of Contacts folders might help. Then, that brings another question, that I am encountering as I try to do Groups. In my Outlook 2007, I can "add new group" (it simply gives me a space to name it). But then I can do nothing with that group. Double-clicking does nothing, and right-clicking simply gives me choices to delete, rename, or create another group.

Any thoughts on any/all of this multi-faceted question?
Thanks,
Barbara

I just got a new laptop with Outlook 2007. I'm trying to permanently get rid of the "Show in Groups" feature. I just want one list with all of my emails sorted by when they were received. I don't need yesterday's, last week's, etc. sorted in different groups. I also prefer my older messages at the bottom and the default puts the newest messages at the top.

I know how to make a temporary change but as soon as I go to a different folder, the settings revert back "Show in Groups" in folders where I've already made the change.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I was just wondering, as I'm not that familiar with intermediate features of non-NOS windows releases. I noticed that when you log into different computers on the home network, they are still prefixed with a domain (the computer name/hostname). Is there a way to put all of my home computers on the same "domain" ? Of course, I mean to do this without the use of a server/domain controller.

I know that windows 7 has homegroups,ut i'm not sure if this will work the same way.

I had a macro in Outlook XP that entered a certain amount of text and formatted it. We use it in most of our emails and immediately run it when creating a new email. It worked fine. (For what it is worth, I copied it into a Word 2007 macro and it worked fine there also).I cannot figure out to create this macro in Outlook 2007. I went to trust center and enabled all macros with no security at all.I went to Tools, Macros, Visual Basic Editor. In the top left box I created a new module and pasted in the text of the macro. But now I cannot figure out how to run it in a new email. In a newly created macro there is no tool option to call up a macro.I try to run it within the visual basic editor, but I get an error message that says macros in this project are disabled and refers me to online help for how to enable macros. How do I create a macro that I can run upon opening a new email that is to be sent?If it matters at all, the text in the macro is:Sub EmailProtocol()'' EmailProtocol Macro' Macro recorded 8/22/2006 by Gisele Prive' Selection.InsertDateTime DateTimeFormat:="d-MMM-yy", InsertAsField:=False, _ DateLanguage:=wdEnglishUS, CalendarType:=wdCalendarWestern, _ InsertAsFullWidth:=False Selection.TypeText Text:=" " Selection.InsertDateTime DateTimeFormat:="HH:mm", InsertAsField:=Fals... Hi there,

I have run into a huge problem. A client of mine wants to have a header and a footer that he can use as stationery through outlook. I have the 2 images designed already but am unsure how to set this up for him. Basically, he wants the header at the top (with html) then a space and a footer at the bottom. These images must also be able to resize themselves in accordance with the users screen etc. (If that makes any sense).

If ANYONE can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Have been searching the net all morning with no luck.

Sam.

Answer:Solved: Create New Stationery in Outlook 2007

Ay carumba. Don't you love assignments like this?

Welcome to the forum Sam.

If it were me, I'd create an HTML table with a row for the header, a row for the client to type in, and a row for the footer. That should be relatively simple to do and will give him an expanding amount of space to type, as opposed to guessing how much room he might need.

But for the image resizing? I'm sure there are others who know better than me, but I'm not sure you can get there from here. Unless these are emails he's only sending internally, it's impossible to know what email client the users will use - they may not even SEE the picture based on how they have their settings configured. And that doesn't even begin to address people who just get their messages through their online email or on their phones. And Outlook 2007 completely changed the way Office used to deal with HTML and CSS, so that's fun too. In the HTML emails I've created, the images don't resize so if the window is too small you get a scroll bar. I'm ok with that, but if your client isn't, maybe you can send him this article. If nothing else, it might make him understand that it's not as easy as it seems like it should be. Good luck!

While opening some external pst folders in Outlook 2007 I somehow managed to change the default personal folders file outlook.pst to another pst folder file that I created called myemails.pst
Every time I started Outlook the Personal Folders would load myemails.pst folder by default instead of outlook.pst
I tried to solve the problem by deleting myemails.pst and I reinstalled Office 2007 suite hoping that Outlook 2007 would be forced to load or re-create the default personal folders file outlook.pst but instead the new installation will not start up at all because it is looking for myemails-pst which no longer exists.
How can I re-install Office 2007 with some kind of switch to instruct it to do a completely fresh install of Outlook 2007 and not carry over any personal settings from the previous installation?

I'm using Outlook 2007 and I can't figure out how to create a rule that sends all emails from a specific domain to a specific folder. Below is an example of the rule I created:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
from exampledomain.com
move it to the exampledomain folder
In addition to exampledomain.com in the example above, I've also tried @exampledomian.com and *@exampledomain.com. None of them work. Is what I'm trying to do even possible?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Can't create file: *.html right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the short-cut menu to check your permissions folder

i have try this option 1. Use REGEDIT.EXE to locate the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
(Note: Depending on your version you may have to modify that path after the "Office" key. You may have folders 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, go the highest number. This is probably the version that you use.)

2. Modify the Key "OutlookSecureTempFolder", by replacing "Temporary Internet Files" with "Temp".
For example:

OLD VALUE: "C:\Documents and Settings\sreed.dsa\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK177\"
(Note: There may be a different number than 177)

NEW VALUE: "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\OLK177\"

3. Restart Microsoft Outlook.

but it lasted for couple of month and it came back again.

There are apparently several ways to create signatures in Outlook 2007. One from Tools, Options, Mail Format, Signatures (which in my case does nothing); one from New Message, Signature, Signatures (which also does nothing); one from New Message, Insert, Signature, Signatures (which also does nothing). There are probably more ways that do not work, but these are the three I have found thus far.
From Tools, Options, Mail Format, the Signature button exists, but clicking it does not open the Signatures and Stationery dialog box.
In both other cases, Signature, Signatures does not open an email signature tab. It does nothing.
I'm using Outlook 2007 (12.0.6541.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6535.5002)

Ever since I got Office 2007, I’m not able to create a new email message from another program.
For example, if I select a file in Explore and click ‘E-mail this file’, nothing happens. It used to automatically pop up a new Outlook email message. This happens in another program as well. I can create new emails fine while in Outlook. Microsoft Exchange Server is set up as the default email type, which was the first thing we checked when this problem started. Not sure if this issue is with Outlook 2007 or Windows XP.
Hopefully this is enough info. Thanks in advance.

Hi all... Recently made the upgrade to Outlook 2007 in our Citrix farm. Experiencing this issue with non-Admin personnel:

Outlook could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable.

That being said, very little is found on the internet. The few solutions we have found have not worked. The user has read/write access to the folder where the temp directory is held, read/write to the temp internet files folder, and the system variables all point in valid locations with proper access for non-Admin users.

Anyone care to throw a bone out at this one?

TIA!

I need to read and update a table that has thousands of records in it with multiple record types that need to be grouped. It's an EDI style format. The problem is I can't find a unique value to tie all of the record types together - so I'm thinking I'll just create a unique value for each group of records. Below is an example of the records. I'd like to create a unique ID for each group of Rec_Type 10-95. I was thinking I'd need to create some VBA code that reads the table and just updates a new field that stores a group ID. Here's the english version
Code:
Pseaudo Code:
Set counter to 1
Read Table
if rec_type >=10 and rec_type <95 then
Group = Counter
Otherwise If rec_type = 95 Then
Group = Counter
Counter = Counter +1
Else Group = 0

Update Group field on record

Loop - read next record
While I understand how to create modules and how to create update queries, I'm a little fuzzy on how to create the VBA to read through a table and evaluate each record for updating an attribute in that record. Thanks in advance for your help.
Code:
ID Rec_Type AllText
1 1 03833
2 10 11201

Greetings-
Outlook 2007 is intermittent when viewing an individual email (I'm running Windows 7) .... Seems like the body of the email is always viewable in the preview screen... BUT when I click to open the email, sometimes the body is there but most of the time it's completely blank (ie not even any red "x")... If I close Outlook completely, then re-open; it works for a few emails then completely blank (except for to "from", "to", "subject")...

With the "blank" email open, if I then click on "other actions" then "view in browser", I can see the body in the Internet (defaulting to "Opera") Browser....
I have gone into the "Trust Center", "Automatic Download" and "clicked "off" the "Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages")...

Any ideas???

I have searched and found a slight answer to this question (which seems to be "no way"), and have searched many other forums for information, however . . . thought I'd post it here too to see if there is any new info on this problem.

In Outlook Express, I can view .any single contact's membership in various groups/distribution lists on the "other" tab . However, in OE I cannot sort or view this information in very meaningful ways, nor view those various memberships in any of the main contact pane views.

In Outlook 2000, by sharing the OE address book, I can view and sort much contact information in more meaningful ways, but there seems to be NO way to see how many distribution lists/groups a single contact belongs to.

SURELY SURELY SURELY there must be a code or patch to create a field to show this info in Outlook 2000! If anyone has a hint -- even a book to refer me to that I would wade through (and I would), please repond.

Thanks for the help

Today I came across a Software, which will help you integrate Ribbons in your application and the best thing is You don't have to work with XML..........you are simply working in WIN32..........No MFC app.
Its really great to use.
Have you ever wondered what happened to custom menu bar in office 2007 or in Window7 PAINT, yes a more appealing, vibrant and good looking Ribbon is used in place of menu bar to make things easier. You can see ribon in action in Office 2007 or in native applications of Windows 7 like PAINT, WORDPAD etc.
I have posted about it in my blog here is the EXCERPT. Read Full HERE

If you are a developer and want to integrate Ribbon in your application than Visual Ribbon Creator (A tool for VC++ programmers to create Windows 7 Ribbons for their projects!). You can use this tool to integrate Ribbon in your application, though the tool is meant for Visual C++ only but you can use it other languages too since it can generate dll. Visual Ribbon Creator (VRC) is a flexible tool for Windows 7 Applications Developers to create a Windows 7 Ribbon visually for their applications. VRC creates a standard Windows 7 Ribbon using Win32 only. No MFC or Office-related coding. It is different than Visual Studio 2010 editor which creates a MFC/Office Ribbon. Use VRC if you are doing Win32/x64 directly. Since you are coding in Win32 it hel... Read more

I've searched the forum and it seems my need is a little different than the posts which have already been made.

I have an old XP laptop which I was using Outlook Express for one of my mail accounts (a work account). I also ran regular Outlook for another (personal). I want to have both of these accounts on my new PC.

My new PC is running Windows 7 wiht Office 2007. I used the Windows transfer cable and things worked failry well. My regular Outlook files all came over well, but nothing for Outlook Express.

I really would like to take this time to somehow export my OE files into my Outlook 2007. I would really like to keep the account which imported in on Outlook seperate.

Question 1: Is there a way to import my OE files into Outlook 2007?

Question 2: Is there a way to have two seperate email accounts in Outlook without combining them? Basically I want to have a work email and a personal and keep them seperate.

If I can't have two seperate emails with Outlook, can anyone suggest something which would allow me to export my old Outlook (the old personal emails) into another program so that I can at least use my work email on Outlook 2007?

Hopefully this isn't too confusing.

Answer:Export Outlook Express XP into Outlook 2007 Windows 7?

If it's possible then I suspect it's far more likely you'd do it using an import feature in Outlook 2007 as opposed to an export feature in OE6, and I doubt the change of operating system really has much influence on this.

I'm not running Office 2007 on the machine in front of me, otherwise I'd check some of the options myself for you - but if you look at the import menu in Outlook 2007 (or if you're really stuck, the help files!) then I feel certain they'll be an answer already waiting for you

Recently upgraded from 2003 to 2010. If I recall, when I looked at a contact in 2003 I could see if that contact belonged to a group (actually distribution list) and which one. I don't see where I can see that info in 2010 from the Contacts page. In other words when I am viewing a single contact. Am I just missing something?

Thanks

I can set up a group in OE so that the same email goes to a number of people. Is it possible to hide the email addresses so that the recipients cannot see everyone the email has been sent to? Cheers.

Answer:groups in outlook express

I don't use OE but believe that it has an option to send all the data in the field called "BCC" which stands for Blind Carbon Copy.Put your own address into the To field.

Outlook does not have its own newsreader. You are told in Outlook help to set up the Outlook Express newsreader.

You will need a news reader, such as FreeAgent - I don't think that Outlook it self will read news (but I may be wrong - I only use it as a PIM, not a mailer). click here for a selection (including FreeAgent).

I have an older version of Outlook Express (not sure what version?) and I upgraded to Outlook 2007. My computer kept the older version and now I have a two - one older and the new 2007. Depending on the Oulook I open it will download the emails making it the most current. I am still using the older version because I am most familiar and I am currently trying to set up "group" emails in my address book.I would like to just have the updated version 2007 and delete the older version - not sure how to do this safely. Also, I am no longer able to set up Groups. I tried this in the older version they way I had always done before but it does not save the group after I create it. And in the 2007 version I can't figure out how to do it at all.Thank you to anyone who can help!

]In the news groups I attempt to block messages from certain users, set in RULES etc., but no matter what I do, the unwanted messages keep coming in.Anyone know what I'm overlooking? I'm using OE6.

Answer:Outlook express and news groups

Unusual question; I've rarely seen questions about using OE for newsgroups. I've used OE for newsgroups, but never tried using Rules to filter newsgroup messages. I use Rules a lot for mail, but not newsgroups. When I used OE for newsgroup messages, I never saw a need to use Rules for them. I think I'd simply unsubscribe to a newsgroup if I did not want to receive messages from it.Exactly how are you creating your Rules? What Conditions did you specify? What Actions did you select?

When I send e-mail to a group (114 members) using OE6, each individual address is received by every member of the group and they all have to scroll down past all of these addresses to the message. Is there a way to change this so that all recipients only receive the group name? or at least DON'T receive everyone elses e-mail address.

Answer:Outlook express 6, email to groups

Start a new email. On the menu toolbar, click on View and All headers. This put the BCC (blind carbon copy) header above the Subject box on your email.Click on the address book next to BCC and select your group name from the list which appears. Make sure you add the group name to the BCC box on the next screen, by clicking on the BCC -> button in the middle of the screen,Click on Ok and then send the email as normal.Post again if this doesn't work.Scott.

Answer:Sending to groups in Outlook Express

Put the groups in as a Bcc address instead of a "To" or "Cc" address. You may have to enable showing the Bcc line if it is not all ready showing in the mesasage composition window.

At a previous office I could create subfolders in my Contacts folder (e.g. Personal, Bus1, Bus2, etc.). Then when I wanted to send an email I would click on the New Mail Mesage button, then on the "To..." button. In the Select Names window, I had the option to select from the Contact subfolders.

Now at my home office, (Office XP Pro on Win2KP), I no longer have the option to select Contact subfolders. The only list that is available on the "Type Name or Select from List" menu is the main Contact list.

I don't use MS Exchange, and I don't think the problem is related to Exchange since even when I had it before at the previous office, the Contact subfolders I created were local and available.

Help is appreciated.
Merry Holidays and Happy New Year to all.

I've never posted before so hope i am doing this correctly

I have a small buisness and use outlook express address book for a monthly mailing and also to send info to students in classes, I am around 9,000 email addresses and over 100 groups

my problems started with a windows update that had to be uninstalled.... now when i click and drag an email address to a group it will occassionally add the email address to another group in addition to the one i wanted....
i installed cclean which corrected another problem with outlook express from the update uninstall but it didnt fix the problem with the groups...
i also got an error message yesterday that i was out of space in my address book, i ran a defrag on my computer and it seems to be o.k now....
i am worried i am reaching the limits of outlook express address book but i cant find anything to replace it with ....i need the groups and the click and drag feature too...i've tried outlook and thunderbird and they do not have the features i need....
also anytime i export from my address book the groups get messed up...
microsoft support says the only thing they can suggest is to create another identity (a duplicate outlook express) the problem with this is all my groups will be lost and recreating over 100 groups from 9,000 email address would be overwhelming....
also i have a show this weekend where i will be adding another 1000 email entries....
if anyone can help me to get outlook express address book working corre... Read more

Answer:outlook express wab groups errors

This one may be tough. I have two ideas. The less-likely one is data corruption for various possible reasonse. Heat, Hard Drive failing, Hard Drive errors, bad Power Supply and maybe more.

For certain, I would definately back up your business data before doing any trouble-shooting.

More likely is to simply believe what OE is telling you; that you are "out of space". Which sounds goofy given that (I bet) your Hard Drive (prolly) has PLENTY of "space", but then if you think it through OE is FREE, and prolly not intended to be used as "business software" so there are probably some crippling limits put into it in order to "encourage" you to buy XP Office and use Outlook (no "express") for your business endeavors.

I'd look up OE on MS Office's support page and see if you can't confirm that it's got a 10,000 name limit on the address book (a nice, round number which may be be pure coincidence with your problems).

For data corruption troubleshooting, the first think I would do is run "Start>Run>"chkdsk /f", reboot and see if it finds any HD errors.

What is your AV solution, and are your virus definitions updated ?

What is the possible issue here ?

Answer:Importing Distribution list from Outlook 2007 to outlook 2007

The only advise I have is to give you incite into the cvs file.

It is the equivalent of a XML markup, but a file a programmer likes to deal with better. It's laid out in what is known as comma delimited formatting. That means, when the file is being read by a program, it stops at the comma's. Everything before the comma is the current entry. Everything after the comma is the next entry, and before etc. The read stops when no more commas are found, and the last entry is taken.

Comma delimited format should allow for the cross platform exchange. If it doesn't try using the XML format instead.

Hope I helped.

How can i set up global groups so everyone in my office can share the same emails in my contacts folder. I'm a network admin and have access to the server.

Answer:Outlook 2000 global groups setup.

What I've done is set up one big email address listing, then put it in each users' directory and let them keep it current after that. Other than that, I believe you'll need to have Exchange Server (or Pegasus/Mercury email system: http://www.pmail.com/index.cfm).

Hope that helps some.

HI all, In Outlook Express in my address book I have a few very large groups. My aim is to be able to print a list of the names with their e mail addressess ie one person takes up one line, so that I may be able to get maybe 30 names and e mail adressess to one page of A4. The only way so far I can think of doing it is copying and then pasting into word each individual member. As I'm going to have aged considerably before I have finished this task!!! I was wandering if any of you guys or girls out there might know a quicker way of doing this task? Thanks for any suggestions. Lemon

I've been using Contact Groups on previous computer, but when I moved over to my new PC and loaded Office 2010 along with Outlook, the contacts groups in OUtlook does not seem to work.

None of the groups I had before were imported, although I have imported all of the contacts themselves.

When I create a new Contact Group it seems to be fine - it allows me to create it, add some contacts, and save it. But, I go to create an email and want to use the contact group, nothing will come up as a group. Also, when I look directly into contacts folder there are no groups there.

What to do?

How do I import my old Outlook express address book with groups into a new installation of Outlook Express?

I got a new computer and would like to import my address book from the old computer. I saved the old address book but when I try to import it into the new computer it loses all of the folders and groups and puts everything into the main contacts list.

Note that it is OE to OE not OE to Outlook.

If I knew where the main address book is stored I could probably just rename the old address book the same as the main book and overwrite it.

Can anybody help me?

Answer:How do I import my outlook express address book with groups

On your old computer open OE and click on File, Export, Address Book. Choose Text file (comma seperated values) and press Export. Enter the place you want to save the address list, for example a floppy in your floppy drive, which would be :

a:\address.csv

Press next and put a checkmark in each box and then press finsih.

It will create the floopy on your floppy. Put that floppy in the new machine, and this time after opening OE, click on File, then Import, then Other Address Book, and select text file(comma seperated values) and press import. Specify the file a:\address.csv and press next.

Put a check in each box and press finish. You should now have all your addresses imported.

Check your drive for errors and run scanpst.exe on your pst's and ost files. Generally this is one of the signs of a corrupt mail database which is why Microsoft has been pushing for a few years now to get rid of them.
Other possibility is with the temporary file store location. You can find a write up about it here. Outlook could not create the work file

On 8.1 and I believe earlier, you could create a contact group within the people app. You would name the group and then add contacts to it, with the ability to choose which email address to use in the group for any individual contact in the event you had more than one for that person. Once created, you could create a NEW email to the group from either within the people app or from within the mail app, by simply using the group name and not typing in each address individually. You could also FORWARD a previously received email to the group. This would be done by clicking forward on the email you wanted to send, then hitting the "+" sign in the "to" field, and then selecting the group name.
I looked at the 950XL on display in a Microsoft store today. I was told it had the "current build". While you can still create a group within the people app, and send a NEW email to that group from within the people app, you could NOT forward a previously rec'd email to the group as you previously could. The "+" sign is no longer present in the "to" field when you click forward on a previously received email.
Anyone know whether this will be brought back by the time the phone is sold? I own a small business that receives and forwards a high volume of web leads to many different contact groups. This functionality is critical to our workflow, so just checking to see if anyone knows whether this functionality will be brought back into the mail app.
Thanks.

I recently purchased a new computer that has Office 2010 installed. I would like to move the contents of my .pts file from my old computer which has Outlook 2007 to my new computer which has Outlook 2010. Before, when I wanted to transfer my .pts file from one computer to another I would just copy the file to a portable hard drive and then transfer the file to the other computer. However, Outlook 2010 is completely different animal. When I go to C:, Users, App Data, etc., new computer, it is completely different from my other computer that had Vista. My question is, how can I transfer my .pts file and/or my address book, calendar, contacts, etc. for my older Windows Vista computer that had Outlook 2007, to my new computer that has Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 installed? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Answer:Solved: Moving Outlook Messages and Address Book From Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010

Hello referee07;

Copy your .pst file from your old computer to the new one or your portable hard drive.

To launch the Outlook 2010 Export/Import wizard, first go to File menu, navigate to Open, and click Import.

In the Import And Export wizard, select Import from another program or file option and hit Next

Under File Type, select Outlook Data File(.pst) and hit Next

Now choose the file to import, select the options, and hit Next

Once done, finally select the folder to import from(if you want to import complete data don’t change any settings) and make sure Include subfolders is checked. You can either import the file to the current folder or choose the folder.

Hope this helps!

I installed a clean copy of Windows 7. I reinstalled MS Office 2007. Everything works except Outlook. When it boots, I get several windows. One says " "Configuring Outlook accounts". The other window says: "Can not open default email folders. The information store can not be opened."

I click on OK and Outlook closes.

I have de-installed Office and reinstalled it several times. All other Office programs open and function OK. My Office 2007 is a legal copy and has no problem when I type in registration code to complete the install.

Is there a solution to this problem. I did back up Outlook before installing Windows 7 but backup is .pst file and I can not restore it because Outlook will not open..

Having recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, I'm slowly making my way with the new OS. When I was sending a "Mail" to a client which automatically liked me to "Outlook" (at least I think it was Outlook) the new operating system informed me that it had some errors to fix, together with sync issues to connnect with Hotmail, which may tske some time. I later sent the mail. I tried to check if it had turned up in the "sent" messages, but unlike Vista, I could not find Outlook anywhere - is it hidden or has it gone? This might be a stupid question, but some in this forum will know of my continued problems with Outlook - you can emagine my delight when I got the message that Windows 7 was going to remidy all that; which hopefully it has done. As always, grateful for any help received. The Brown Rock

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 on my hp 64-bit laptop, Outlook 2007 freezes and has the screen messed up, like with text shifted into wrong places. It never did this until I upgraded from Vista. It can work fine for hours, and then I go off and do something else, usually with the computer just sitting idle, and when I return, Outlook 2007 is frozen. I have to kill it in program manager, and sometimes that does not even work. I have to kill the actual process.

Has anyone else been having trouble keeping Outlook running under Windows 7? If so, do you know a workaround?

Lloyd

Outlook kept asking for my password and ignoring my correct answer. It was unusable. I deleted my account and reconfigured it and now it does connect. The problem now is it attempts to download hundreds of emails - takes quite awhile - nothing downloads at all - it then starts over downloading those same emails again - still nothing. The cycle just keeps repeating. I am using Outlook 2007 on Windows 7. Please help.

Ok this might be the wrong place to post this so feel free to move.

This is more of a annoyance then a issue.

When I used outlook on my XP box it added hyperlinks automatically when i typed one into the message.

Now with Windows 7 I have to go back to every thing I want to link and manually add hyperlinks to each.

As a web designer you can imagine I send alot of hyperlinks through my email. And although I have dealt with it for almost 4 months now.. I would really like to know if I can fix it.

By the way this does not seem to be a local issue. I have checked outlook on a few different machines and all of them do the same thing. Wondering if it is maybe a UAC issue of sorts with 7 and Outlook.

Thanks in advance

Hi all - So I just got a new computer with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. I installed Outlook 2007, and it is ok. (Just ok)I really liked Windows Mail and resist using Windows Live Mail as I like to have my files downloaded to my computer.I was able to copy the contacts to the contacts folder on the windows 7 unit. But my Outlook does not see the contacts. The folder will open from the libray (windows' explorer) but not in Outlook. In Windows' mail, in a new mail window, I can click on Tools, and Select receipient" and see my list. That does not happen in Outlook.Any suggestions? Thanks SO much!Debbie

Answer:Windows Mail to Outlook 2007

Hi Debbie,First, Windows live mail does download your mail to your computer, (you may be confusing it with Live Hotmail). It functions just like Windows mail once the program is downloaded and installed. To get contacts to outlook, export the Windows 7 contacts as a .csv file and then import them to Outlook.Hope this helps.Paul

I am running XP Home, SP2 with updates or an old P4 (3.2) system and have run into a problem with my graphics. Also running latest ATI drivers on a 4550 card.

What I am getting is very often when I have a IE8 session onen and also open a window for Outlook 2007, everything will be fine until I try to switch between windows, close one of the programs, or add another tab to IE.

Then the windows will MERGE, what I mean is that the Outlook WINDOW will close, but the graphics IN that window will now be in the IE8 Window.

I have tried re-installing the graphics drivers, etc. Also, very ofter I cannot get the IE8 to shut down, even with CNTR-ALT-DEL, I'll just end up with several open. When they finally DO close, after a while it will try to send an error reort to MS, several times (once for each shutdown tried.)

Sometimes I just have to kill the system by switching it off when it hangs.

Any ideas?

This is a question about OUTLOOK 2007 in WINDOWS 10.
There are 2 PCs.
One (#1) was converted from Windows 7 and works fine.
The other (#2) is a new desktop replacing an old desktop that stopped working.
I installed MS Office including OUTLOOK on this new PC and copied the prior .PST file - which I can access. BUT - it has created an IMAP/SMTP folder with a name suffixed with "00000002.pst" which it puts new received email into and not into my old, copied .PST file.
Unlike #1 which has a "POP/SMTP folder and which has a "CHANGE FOLDER" button,
#2 does not have a "CHANGE FOLDER" button so I can point to the original, copied .PST file. They both state "Selected e-mail account delivers new e-mail messages to the following location" but #2 does not have a "CHANGE FOLDER".
Do you know how I can change the folder so that it uses my original .PST file from the old PC?

Answer:A question about OUTLOOK 2007 in WINDOWS 10

If you want it default for mail, contacts, tasks etc, make sure that the name of copied old PST is "outlook.pst". And an IMAP will always create another file so you can't combine the old PST with the new file. In my opinion, you should manually configure the email accounts and set them to be POP against IMAP. There, while configuring, you will get to select the PST file to which you want the mail to be delivered.

Suddenly Outlook freezes and does not respond. When I open Task Manager, it still shows 'running', but when I click on 'End task', then it tells me 'it is not responding'. It takes time to close on instructing it to close.

This happens, some times after I have sent an email etc.

My software is fully updated.

Anyone with a solution?

Have a great day!

Thanks

Answer:Windows Outlook 2007 Freezes

I got the exactly same problem since about two weeks. Outlook freezes a couple of times a day, and will not respond any more at all. The only way to get out of it is the task mananger.

Also my Outlook 2007 is updated, which I think could be the reason for it to fail. Some updates were installed right before this problem occured the first time...

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Thanks!
