Preferred Solution: I have spam email sent from my email address

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi guys,

'Boopme' had me run MiniToolBox and he wrote that he found "errors and other issues" and he bumped me to this thread.

Norton now seems to be removed and the restart was successful w/ out a restore.

This is what I wrote in under the from "Am I infected?" thread;

Been having problems with my laptop running Vista Home premium svc pack2.
One day, a month ago, Norton was not updating properly. Upon the next boot-up windows would not start and I was forced to restart in safe mode with a system restore. This was successful but Norton Security Suite was still not updating properly.
Since then, on a few occasions, I have attempted to uninstall Norton without success thru the program uninstaler. Norton is unresponsive. I even got the Norton rep. to do a remote deletion of all registry files of Norton. But they all returned after the reboot of my PC because windows would not open and I had to start-up thru system restore.
Since then my yahoo email been hacked and spam sent to the contacts of my address book.
I know I got something but I don't know what.. Can anyone take a stab at what I might need to do?
Thanks,
Brian

I think I have asked this before. I am getting so much spam email im sick of deleting it all! These fat heads who send it to me I wish they would stop.

Some of the emails say "Your date has been approved with Jenn" Then will say my husband is away for a week so if the first date goes well we will try another.

Come talk to jean and see her body at bla bla website.

I get so many others too. Partsolver and towel direct?? I now have between my two computers almost 200 unread of spam emails and some thats not spam. It takes forver to go through and delete them all.

Ive been told not to hit unsubscribe but sometimes it helps. They say then they know your email is valid. Well they must or they would cease to email me so whats it going to matter to unsubscribe?

Ive even tried to "bounce to sender" but nothing works! Is there any way to block emails from these people? Or not allow them on my server? A auto bounce before they even come on my pc?

Maybe I should just ask my ISP I dont know. I thought id ask one last time.

Answer:I get lots of spam email to my email address

There are usually two places where SPAM filtres can be effective. The most obvious is at your ISP's Mailbox; because how ISPs handle the spam filter vary, I can give no explicit instructions, although their on-line help section generally will provide those.
The second place is at your Email Client on your computer. FF/Mozilla both include teachable Spam filters that you can use to segregate legitimate mail from the gunk.

The best place to stop SPAM is to be extremely careful about your Email Address. It would be a wise step to have one Email Address for friends, family, and trusted people, and a "throwaway" Email address (s) for on-line registrations, Ebay, or other public places. Once these addresses become, as they will, clogged with SPAM, you can simply delete them and create new addresses, beginning the process over again.

John

Hello! I'm a (very) long time lurker of this site but recently decided to join. I've had my Windows 8.1 Toshiba Satellite laptop for a bit over a month. About 2 weeks into ownership I started receiving spam emails in my msn account, the one I use to sign into the laptop. These mails are sometimes from me, although I have checked my sent mail and there isn't anything there I haven't personally sent. I signed into a different email account and that one was spammed too, until I signed out.

I access the internet from my phone and my desktop pc (Windows 7). I wasn't sure where the issue was coming from so I turned off the desktop but the problem persisted. I did a system restore on the I ran AntiMalwarebytes, CCleaner, and my antivirus programs which all came back clean, but the problem is still here.

I've factory restored three times, completely reformatted the drive twice and I still have the problem. I installed Windows 10 Preview but I didn't receive any spam for the hours I had it running. I reinstalled my OEM version of 8.1 and within 2 hours the spam emails started. The last time, I hadn't even installed my firewall and antivirus program when the spam email started. I also noticed that my OneDrive says the last time the files were synced was in 1969.

Having the laptop in airplane mode or shut off is the only way I don't receive spam.

I keep getting MAILER-DAEMON emails in my in-bin.

"Returned mail: see the transcript [FAILED(1)]"
"failure notice"

The body of the email says that it couldn't be delivered and then the original message is about pills and other spam crap...

I get like 10 of these a day every day. I know these emails aren't coming from me. I could care less accept that my email address is being attached to all this spam that other people are getting...tarnishing my name...

Anyway to stop this?

I have recently started to get returned emails from people who I don't know and haven't sent e-mails to. these are messages that are hitting their spam filters and being rejected/returned for verification. Is there any way to stop this? Is there some way to check if these messages are coming from my PC? I don't see anything in my sent items folder. If not from my PC, is there any way to identify the source from the returned e-mails and possibly stop them?

Using outlook 2007, Windows XP

Answer:Spam to (not) my email address

Because your address is in the BCC field of the email received, so it's not seen due to the custom SMTP email engine that the scammer scumbags use. Only a spoofed one is seen.

I received an email from MY email address that my spam filter put in my spam box, but I didn't send it. How do people send emails like this, and how do I prevent it?

I use Yahoo/AT&T for my email. I checked my "sent" folder and that email was not in there. I also right-clicked the address to see if there was a "real" sender in the code, but it was my email address. I used to be able to mouse over a return address and see the real sender. Wish that feature still worked!!!

Just as a precaution, I reset my password, although I really don't think I've been hacked - just impersonated.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

Hi,

I have a very simple question. At present I'm receiving around 100 spam messages a day, this started this week and they're all being sent as if they were Undeliverable Messages that I've sent, which clearly I haven't.

They're all being sent to my websites domain, but none have my name. All I want to know is can you set up Outlook Express or can I get my host to block any mail that doesn't have my whole email address.

I mean if my email address was [email protected] could I block an email that was sent to [email protected] or would any email forwarded to @myaddres.com come to me regardless of the prefix?

Thanks, damn spammers what is the point, would anyone buy their drugs after recieving 400 emails in 4 days?

Cheers

Neil

Spam is somehow being sent which displays my email address. I know this because:
a) I have had messages returned as undeliverable to addresses I hadn't sent email to.
b) I received a spam message from myself (!)

My OS is XP. I have service pack 2. I run AVG regularly and ad aware and spybot every once in a while. BTW, I'm computer literate, but I don't speak geek, so don't get too technical with me please :)

I contacted my internet service provider after messages I sent to hotmail addresses returned saying, "Reasons for rejection may be related to contect with spam-like characteristics or IP/Domain reputation problems." It turns out that hotmail has blocked all messages from my internet service providers (the biggest, or one of the biggest in my country). This makes me thing that maybe they are infected somehow.

I have changed my internet password and started scanning for threats. The norton online virus scan worked, (showing I had 2 problems, trojan.wimad and adware.memory meter) but the security scan wouldn't run. Also my ad aware shut down mid scan. I ran an ewido online scan. I found a bunch of adware and one trojan. I googled to find out what the trojan was and found that it could be a false positive and erases it could screw up the computer. I erased the adware and left the trojan. I read more on your site and I hope this wasn't a mistake. BTW, not posting on any other site.

Hi everyone:
Over the last week I have started getting spam on my road runner email address. Clearly, I have not emailed this spam to myself. I regularly run Adaware Pro edition, Spybot and Norton Corporate edition (all on my computer for 10 months now without problem.)

There is absolutely no software in my add/remove that is unsual. All legitimate. I have added the Microsoft Antispyware to try to deal with this and found at least four instances of

res://shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm

under: desktop navigation, navigation cancel..., navigation failure and offline information. In each of these it says it is the "current information "AND the address is in "restore to" res://shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm

I just don't have any idea how to remove what ever is in my computer that is using my address to send information to me.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Someone suggested I may have a worm. I also ran CWshredder...nothing was found.

Not even sure if this should be here.

This AM my web-based Yahoo mail sent a spam to everyone on my contact list. I constantly see others having this happen to them but I do a daily scan with MBAM,SuperAntiSpyware and Windows Essentials and so far the computer LOOKS clean.

I have no idea about the web-based (Yahoo!) mail client, but it wold need an impetus from my computer to go sending crud about, I should think.

Asking Yahoo! about this proved slightly less frustrating that trying to thread a needle while on a vibrating bed.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

I don't know if it's the address itself or just Yahoo, but somehow my personal email address is showing up in some people's spam boxes. In this particular case, I'd been trying to communicate with an Amazon seller about a return and refund and was frustrated that he wasn't replying to any of my emails. Turns out my mails were going into his spam folder. That wouldn't concern me much as it can depend on each user's and network's spam settings, but this isn't the first time people have said messages from my Yahoo email have been flagged as spam.

So my question is, is there some way to check and see if my address is on some national spam list? Is there anything I can do to try and remedy this? I'm definintely not spamming anyone; I just want to be able to communicate with folks when I need to!

I got an email sent to an aol address that I never get junk emails from. No one knows I have it, I've never advertised it on aol, or to websites, people, etc.. but somehow this morning I got a letter from some company wanting to do something with my mortgage. They had my full name and home address in the letter. I'm really confused by how they could've ended up with all that... the fact that they sent it to this unknown address is really puzzling..

Does anyone know how this happened or has this happened to anyone else?

Answer:Spam email sent to a private address...?

The only way they could have gotten it is if you used your email and sent your information to a site....they now have the info.

OR

AOL gave them the info.

You choose.

In the past I've just deleted spam emails and not worried about them, but now they are starting to come in using m saying "Hi - then my email address". Should I be worried about this?

Answer:Spam emails using email address

Hmm, don't think so - just delete them as usual. It is only if/when a person responds to these things, that problems are very likely to occur. It is so easy to 'hit' on strangers email addresses, I am pretty sure they are not directed at you specifically - just a spammer using ad-hoc addresses.

This is very embarassing, as it's an ad for "male" pills and some of these people are older family members that don't understand how this can happen. I understand the spoofing and using my email address to cover up the real address, but how do they get all my email contacts? Will this happen again? Is there anything I can do about it?

What?s worse than getting spam? Unwittingly sending it. When bogus and probably malware-laden advertising goes out in your name, you look bad. And you get flooded with bounced messages from dead addresses that some crook attempted to spam in your name.

The good news: You?re not sending out spam. Neither is your computer or your IP address. But the bad news can still be pretty bad.Click to expand...

I've put a more detailed summary here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic456375.htmlA spambot somehow got a hold of my Yahoo! email account and is sending spam (all of them the same message) to random people who've sent emails to me previously. Unfortunately, "random people" includes no-reply email addresses, so my inbox is consistently covered in [email protected] Failure Notices. Even worse, "random people" also includes Facebook notifications which allow one to reply to things via email, so I've found spam posted on Facebook by myself (only once so far, but still).I once tried to find it McAfee Security Scan Plus (before the Facebook thing), but failed, regarded it as "just an inconvenience", and moved on, until a few months passed (and the Facebook thing happened).I then, advised by TheShooter93, used screen317's Security Check, SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and GMER (for the results, see the above URL).I then changed my email account's password, which didn't work (I got another [email protected] Failure Notice, with the same spam message).DDS.txtDDS (Ver_2011-08-26.01) - NTFSAMD64 Internet Explorer: 9.0.8112.16421 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_31Run by marcopolonian at 21:55:24 on 2012-06-11Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1.7601.1.1252.1.1033.18.7786.5129 [GMT -5:00].AV: avast! People have been telling me they are getting spam emails from my email address. I am not sending these. In the list of addresses in these emails most of the addresses are some I have in my address book. I use Microsoft Outlook but none of these emails show up in my Sent folder. I have run several different scans and nothing shows up. I have included my FRST and Addition logs.
Thanks

Lately, I've been getting a lot of spam email that indicates I am the sender. How can that be? I tried "replying" to the email just to see what happens, and it comes back to me!

Can you explain how/why this is happening, and is there anything a person can do to prevent this?

Thanks,

Hello there!

First of all, MAJOR THANK YOU'S and apologies... you've got a total IT idiot here in this post. I'm telling you, I'm really clueless.

Secondly, the reason for my post! I must have clicked on something in an email (I KNOW, I KNOW! Wrong move, right?!) that captured/hijacked/compromised my email address. For the past several days I've been getting "postmaster delivery notification-delivery has failed" bouncebacks--- going right into my Junk Mail folder. I didn't think much of it... until Verizon suspended my email account this morning for MISUSE. LITTLE OL' ME??? Misuse?? Yup. And I can tell they are FULL OF JUNK because they are trying to sell off-label Viagra and Cialis (BTW, do people really believe that these meds are the real thing? You get what you pay for, people!! A four-hour erection may be the least of your worries! Sorry... I got off topic... )

Anyway, it has probably happened like 125-150 times in the past several days. I have gone in and changed my password (it's SUPER STRONG NOW!) and my security questions, but from what I've read there is probably still something sitting on my computer that will make this happen again. If you can help, I would be so grateful, and even if you can't, thanks for trying! --- Jenn

Since 3am GMT today I've been spammed at a rate of about fifty an hour to an email address on one of my sites. They are the 'couldn't deliver message' sort - most of them having tried to deliver non-existent emails from non existent addresses from my site, if you get my drift. Is there nothing I can do to stop this, short of deleting this address and making a new one - most unfortunate as this is the official (and only) email for this particular site and I'd have to notify a fair number of establishments. I contacted Webmania my hosts and (surprisingly) they were not helpful, saying merely they are improving their spam filters over the next months. But I can't keep up with this attack; they are coming by the second.

Answer:spam - should I change my email address?

I'm ticking as resolved, purely because this morning when I checked, there had only been about ten in the last six hours,so the massive onslaught must have been a 24 hour thing, though I suppose it doesn't solve the initial problem.

I signed on to a free email service; before I even had the chance to tell friends etc about my new email address I started to get lots of junk mail: usually from odd sounding addresses regarding xxxx and how big is your $$$$ and how to make it bigger. How is this possible? Does your email address get passed on without your permission!!

Answer:how does spam find your email address?

It's a lucky guess...The spammer does not know that the email address is valid."Does your email address get passed on without your permission!!" - Me thinks that would be illegal if that happend.

Recently (within the last week) I have received spam email from two separate accounts both of which belong to me. The spam was sent to myself and a couple others. One account is a hotmail account, another is a gmail account. Both accounts have had two-factor authentication enable since long before these spam emails. I have since changed both passwords (just to be sure) but I do not believe these emails are originating from my accounts, I believe my email addresses are being spoofed due to the following:

As stated above, both of my accounts are 2-factor authenticated and have been since long before these issues.

The spam email that was sent from my hotmail account shows as mailed-by: terra.com.br, *not* hotmail.com as it should.

The spam email that was sent from my gmail account shows *no* authentication information. There is no mailed-by information. Here is the source information, note all instances of my actual email address have been removed and replaced with [email protected] in order to avoid additional spam from crawlers:

Hi all,

I am trying to sort out my mothers dratted email issue once again. The problem this time appears to be that she has had her account banned for being a spammer. At least this is what the error messages say.

When trying to send emails using Outlook Express it fails giving the following message;

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop3.btconnect.com', Server: 'mail.btconnect.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Message rejected due to sender IP reputation ([86.155.19.32]); see Mirapoint: Miracare ', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

I have been to the miracare website and checked the ip and it says the ip address is high risk and sends spam on a regular basis. This cannot be true im pretty sure my mother isnt too sure what spam is let alone have the capability to send more than 5 emails a year.

Is this likely to be a piece of software on her computer that has caused the ip address to get flagged as a spammer or could it be a mistake on miracare's end?

Thanks
Mattizar

Answer:Email Blocked as a spam address wrongly

I doubt that this would be caused by spyware. If anything they could have hacked her email account. The best option in this case is to contact the email provider and talk to them. Find out details of when these so called spam messages occurred. That will be the best indication that either her system has spyware cause it will match the times she was on her PC or if she has it shut down it will not match times she was on the PC. If she leaves the PC on at all times, you can do scans to see if she is infected. But with the trickery used by such people, just by her reading or opening an attachment sent from someone that was infected she could have been.

Someone is spamming with what looks to be my husband's Email address. For the past three or four days he has been getting two or more failure of delivery notices for messages he obviously did not send. The failure of delivery notices are returned either because the address to which it is sent does not exist or because it is bounced by the receiver's security software. None of the receivers that we have seen bounced back are in his Outlook address book, so there is no mass mailing work working from Outlook on his machine, as far as I can tell. He runs Norton's Internet security program (with current updated software and virus definitions) and he is running SpySweeper which he licenses and which is current with regards to program updates and definitions. Both Norton's and SpySweeper show completely clean logs. Earthlink is the ISP, do I address this with them or is there something else I should do before I address it with them.

Thanks, in advance, for your help. LAC

Hello all -

Hoping that someone can give me a hand here. My sister has been having a barrage of emails go out from her AOL email address over the past week or so. Multiple mass emails at various times of day. Her email service is through AOL and she is operating on Windows Vista. The emails seem to be going to sections of her address book (I get emails for all the K's and L's). Each batch has a different body to the email, but it's obviously some sort of virus or malware. She ran her anti-virus and said it highlighted two cookies and deleted them, but I didn't actually get to see the scan to see what it said exactly.

I've had her download and install Malware Bytes, Spyware Blaster and WinPatrol. I had her take her computer completely offline and run the virus scan and malware bytes. After several cycles of that, she was able to run them and get a clean scan. I told her to change her password and then go back online. About 24 hours passed with no incident, but late last night two more batches of emails went out. She scanned her home computer again with the anti-virus and malware and it came up with a clean scan. She also uses her work computer to log into her AOL email, so I'm having her repeat the process today on her work computer to ensure that's not where the problem is as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance as to which way to go at this point? She uses this email address for her personal business and it's crea... Read more

I have orange broadband and I am now getting over 500 spam messages a day through my freeserve account many of which bypass the filters and go directly into the in-box. I asked the orange helpline if i could change the email address on my billing account to avoid spam. 30 mins later and 15 poorer, the tech line talked me through the setup for a dial-up account! I can't seem to make anyone understand. Has anyone else had similar problems, or better still provide a solution? The only redeeming feature with Orange is that the broadband connection is reliable, otherwise I would change the ISP.

Answer:Orange Spam - change of email address

The problem is that the freeserve e-mail address is also your account address and the bit after @ cannot be changed.I found that quite a lot of spam wasn't using my name before the freeserve account details but made up rubbish. I used their webmail filters to move some of the more commonly junk mail into the delete folder on webmail. This is not downloaded to your e-mail reader and is automatically deleted after 7 days.Article Orange Help kb 2171 why am I receiving someone else's emails? states how to set up thses filters.

Hi folks.
I posted another thread last night but for a different machine so please treat this one as a separate (though possibly related) issue.

Some time yesterday I got a delivery failure report from a spam email that was sent out to some (if not all) people in my email address book. I use Thunderbird with the WebMail plugin to access a Hotmail account but I'm not sure if the spam went from here or elsewhere.

I've run through the README and would appreciate if someone could take a look at the logs and let me know if I need to do anything further.
During one of the scans (SAS, I believe) McAfee alerted me to the removal of Generic.dx!vje. It popped up several alerts for the same one, and several more I didn't check for detail.

Relatively new machine.
Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
Intel Xeon E5503 2GHz, 12GB RAM.
OS installed to C: (0.5TB HDD with 373GB Free).
The second HDD (D is the HDD removed from my previous machine (150GB drive with 13.5GB Free).

I don't know if any of that is relevant since I'm not having any speed issues - but it can't hurt to include it.

Logs attached (no RootRepeal log, obviously).

Thanks.

This is the first time I've had something like this happen and no idea how to solve it. For the past 10 days, I've been getting several hundred Undeliverable/Bounced back emails to my email account. They're all spam emails that I did not personally send, but are originating from my email address.

I've ran AVG virus scan and Malware Bytes on all my PCs and phone that have access to that email and have repeatedly changed passwords with absolutely no luck in getting this to stop.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to solve this?

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!
for a couple of weeks now i've been getting 100's of emails a day saying 'MAILER-DEAMON: MESSAGE DELIVERY FAILED' or similar, when i open these reports i find that the subject and contents are basically spam, advertising meds, viagra etc. but the sender is apparently ME! I have an old freeserve email address and the sender of the spam varies for example '[email protected]*my username*.freeserve.co.uk' so somehow all this spam has been sent using my email address.
Being quite compentent with viruses and spyware etc. i ran an updated norton scan, stinger, adaware, spybot S&D and also checked the registry and msconfig for any dodgy running processes. NOTHING.
I'm totally stuck and cant find anyone with the same problem as me!

The executive director of one of my clients had asked me to update their spam filter for their local exchange server. After doing so, I added the copier to the list as well. Now, I admit I'm not totally dumb, but as this is my entry job to the IT world, I realized I did this without fully understanding why I did it. Now the director is asking me why their copier would need a spam filter.

How do I answer her without sounding like a dumbass and having my foot in my mouth?

Answer:Reason for adding a spam filter to the copier email address of a company

Just accept it, tell her that the copier has been removed from the SPAM filter. Learn from this lesson and do better and be prepared next time.

Learn to slow down and not be trigger happy. Always ask yourself why you do what you do and be prepared to answer to what may happen or is expected after actions.

I have a few email addresses and one that I use paringly ie keep it for certain items, but today in quick sucession I got 2 spam emails on it, one from British Airways and the other from FB.
I then ran malwarebytes and quite a few PUP's were found BUT and this is the big but, a lot of the items found appeared to be useful and I then realised I do not have a clue what I should or should not delete!!
My queries are, how can my email get out and is there any guide that will tell me what to delete and not delete in malawarebytes?
I use win xp pro, norton security, spyblaster, ccleaner and on occasions try a few otehrs like malaware, adaware and so on.

Answer:got a spam email from British Airways and Facebook today to my guarded email-ran malwarebytes but??

"how can my email get out"
it will be in the address book of anyone that you have sent an email to and if their pc or webmail is compromised the spammers will have all the addresses from their address books.
As for PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) only you will know if you use the program(s) in question and whether you want them or not.
Or perhaps you could list them and ask for opinions?

Running Win 7 .  Opened spam email by mistake and email account hacked. Acct locked by server after 1600 email sent. Account has been recovered.  I ran full scan with Microsoft Essentials and Malwarbytes and both clean.  Then I did a full scan with Kapersky and it showed 1 malware  of Trojan.JS.Agent.cfl located on my external harddrive in my backup files location and possibly 2 other locations on the report.  I have pdf ofKapersky report if want to see.
I also ran AVG 2015 and it was clean.

Not sure if I should just delete the backup files from my external hard drive.
What other scans can I do to make sure everything is OK?? - I have not noticed anything unusual with computer yet but want to ease my mind.

Hi, I'm having a problem with my email. I was clearing out my folders and notice an email in my junk file sent from myself to myself. Same email to and from. It was flagged as important and having read it, it is clearly spam. I checked Windows Live Mail and found a couple more of these emails that have been sent from me, to me.

I tried searching for this online but apart from some answers about email 'worms' I don't know what's caused it, if my account is at risk/should be deleted, or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

I got up the message source in Windows Live Mail and the top of this (before the HTML for the email) is as follows, I have blocked out my email address with [email protected] for privacy:

Over the last few days I have been receiving a lot of "failure notice" and "undeliverable email" to my email address. It seems that my email address has been forged and spam/unsolicitated emails are being sent using my email address.I am worried that this willl cause genuine emails not to pass through other people's servers as my domain name would be blacklisted. Is there any practical solution to this?

Answer:spam/spoofed email using my email/domain name

fraid not as it would seem that someone with your e mail address in their address book has become infected and is mailing out as everyone in that book, but because your mail is genuine the 'bounce' comes back to you.johnny

I have had to reinstall pc due to it going at a crawl!!

After installing Outlook 2002, I can not get Outlook to auto fill the email address field when I start to type an email address in it.

The address book is there and in tacked after copying the outlook.pst file back to its original location after install.

How do I get Outlook to autofill?

Also when I click the 'TO' button in the new email window, it says that there is no address book!
but when I click the address book icon in the main Outlook window there are email address there?!

Any ideas how I can get this to work correctly again.

Answer:reinstalled pc, now create email in Outlook 2002 does not auto fill email address like before

When you did the re-install, did you erase/format the hard drive before the re-install? If you did and did not save the Outlook auto fill file, then the all the auto fills you had are gone. Did you import the pst file into outlook?

Hello,
I've managed to setup email forwarding for my wife's new marketing business so I get emails coming to the POP3 email account [email protected] from the email address [email protected] and also [email protected]

However, when I send an email it appears (in someone else's inbox) to come from
Joanna Rigby <[email protected]> when I would like to appear to come from
Joanna Rigby <[email protected]>

I want them to see her domain name @madeyousmile.co.uk NOT the pophost.123-reg info.

Any suggestions on how I do this please? I'm running Microsoft Outlook Office 2007.

kind regards,
Jonathan

Hello.
I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.
Thanks!

hi there,,when i go to enter my email address in firefox the pop up address is spelled wrong,,,how can i change it,without losing all my auto complete forms.
i am using windows xp home edition..
thanks..

Answer:Solved: wrong email spelling in auto complete email address

Delete Firefox auto-complete entries

There is also an add on for firefox that allows you to manage autocomplete

Available features include:

* matching against bookmark addresses
* matching against page titles and bookmark names
* matching anywhere in the address, not just the beginning
* changing the sorting criterion to alphabetical by address or title, most frequently visited, most recently visited, or top-level pages first
* completing the best match inline
* temporarily or permanently disabling the suggestion popup
* excluding local pages and pages containing search results
* swapping the address and title columns on the suggestion popup
* highlighting the column where a match was found
* fine-tuning the popup appearance by hiding page titles, changing the number of visible suggestions, and setting the truncation method for long addresses and page titlesClick to expand...

When trying to email to a specific internal email account, my email leaves my system and
does not arrive at the destination account. The destination account also happens to be the "administrator" and the email does get to the administrator email account. Any ideas?

Answer:Outlook 2000 Email problem to specific internal email address

Will: No offense, but your post sounds like you're saying you're sending it from one account to another, but it's not being received at the other account, which is the administrator---but the administrator receives it?

Could you please re-state your question?

I just linked one of my email accounts to my personal gmail account so I could consolidate all my email but I found that it is much too cluttered. Now I have a mess in my personal gmail account.

How can I delete all the email from the linked account (which is now removed, but messages are still downloading) from my personal gmail inbox?

thanks

Answer:how to delete all email from a specific linked email address in gmail

Go to : Settings > Filters

The trick is to put a TO or FROM in the search field and hit TEST SEARCH, instead of applying the filter. Then delete what is in the search results. Now I don't know of a way to do this by account, but as long as you know the recipient or sender address (which would be your old email), then it should work fine. In your case, just put the sender address as your old email account and test the search, it should pull up all the email for you to delete

Cheers

When I got BellSouth DSL years ago I had Outlook email account set up with BellSouth as outgoing and old domain as incoming so I could keep my email address from another domain. It worked fine until a year or so ago I had to add another account just for BellSouth and that worked fine.

Within last few weeks emails from my email address (old domain) would not send. I've been through it with ATT tech several times to no avail.

It seems that ATT has trapped me out and does not want me to be able to keep my old email.

There's bound to be a way to set up my email accounts so my outgoing email from my other ISP provider will send through BellSouth without changing my very old and reliable email address.

Also, I recently have acquired my own domain name and I fear emails from that email address will suffer the same fate.

I hope this is not too long, but PLEASE HELP if you can.

Answer:Can't send email using different domain in email address BellSouth trapped me out...

If your BellSouth e-mail service is provided by Yahoo, then you probably need to go through a registration and authentication process for each e-mail address you want to send through a non BellSouth/Yahoo mail server. At least that is what I had to go through as an SBC/ATT DSL customer. They claim that they do the blocking to prevent from originating from users within their network.

Hi,

Short story. Moved to another state, got new email address, went to change to new email address in usrcp.
Followed instructions, then everything went cattiwampus.

Using the KISS method, I ONLY want to change from orig email addr to new one. Everything else stays the same.

Regards,

Answer:Changed email address, recd confirm email, followed it, no result?

Sounds like you may have been taken in by a phishing ploy.

Can you explain the acronym usrcp, and cattiwampus is what makes me think phishing ploy. Run your panda product and see what shows up.

Do you still have the email? If you do, post a screenshot.

Its getting pretty old, it seems every two years or so a company is bought out and you have to switch your ending email address to that provider,

mediaone.net
attbi.com
comcast.net
verizon.net
and now the latest will be myfairpoint.net, add to that a couple more in the list above i forgot the endings of its quite the list for about 8yrs worth.

Gmail? Yahoo? anything else worth considering as a permanent email address?

Answer:Best free email to use?...Im sick of companies being bought = new email address

I'd say Gmail. Otherwise try Graffiti.net. I've had an account with them for about 4 years, and even if I'm inactive for a couple of months, I go back and it's still there.

Hi

Is there some way of moving all messages from my hotmail account to another email address? So when I emails are sent to my hotmail address they are then sent to my other email address, (then deleted from hotmail).
Is there a program that can sit on the desktop that is always checking hotmail, and when a email is recieved it is then sent to another email address? (this address is not a hotmail address).

Any possibilities??

Answer:Make all email that is recieved from my hotmail account go to another email address.

possibly
if you have outlook express linked to your hotmail account you can run a rule on the mail - not sure if it works on webmail cia outlook/outlook express
but the rume to forward certainly works

I'll bet you have not heard this one before. I was attempting to send an email to a potential client. Everything seemed to work well except that it was returned. The problem was that the address was changed somewhere. His name is spelled with a j but somewhere along the line, it was changed to a k and so there was no such person and therefore was returned to me.

I have a word document that includes a form the user must fill in. I want to create a button that will do all of the following:
1. Update all fields
2. Attach the updated word document to an email
3. Enter an address I have stored in the macro into the To field of the email.

I have one module which does the first part:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim oStory As Range
For Each oStory In ActiveDocument.StoryRanges
oStory.Fields.Update
If oStory.StoryType <> wdMainTextStory Then
While Not (oStory.NextStoryRange Is Nothing)
Set oStory = oStory.NextStoryRange
oStory.Fields.Update
Wend
End If
Next oStory
Set oStory = Nothing
End Sub

I found that if I add this to the before End Sub it attaches the updated Word document to an email:
Application.Options.SendMailAttach = True 'Or False
ActiveDocument.SendMail

However, I can't figure out how have it put a specific address into the To field of the document.

So I tried another tact. I have the email address as a hyperlink in the document, and set a bookmark at the hyperlink. Then I created a module that will go to the bookmark and open the hyperlink. However, this will not add the document as an attachment:

Sub Open_Hyperlink()
Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="hyperlink"
With ActiveDocument.Bookmarks
.DefaultSorting = wdSortByName
.ShowHidden = False
End With

Selection.Range.Hyperlinks(1).Follow NewWindow:=False, AddHistory:=True
End Sub

So then I found this bit of coding on the web, and tried imp... Read more

For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

There are many disposable email address (DEA) services but they are limited in time which means you have to get a new email every time you open an account and you have to use the webmail interface they provide you to retrieve email. NotSharingMyInfo will automatically send all email to your real email account and the forwarding address they give to you will not be deleted, you can reuse that very same address to recover passwords if necessary, a feature requiring the email you previously used for registration.

If you start to get spam you can cancel your NotSharingMyInfo email address asking for a cancellation email link to your real email address. I have an att.net email account which is now serviced by Yahoo. Today a spam message originated from my account and was sent to everyone on my contacts list. "xmas" was in the subject line and the content was a web address which opens to a website apparently selling medications from Canada. Webroot antivirus has not detected any virus or malware on my computer. What should I do? Do I need to close the att.net email account?

Someone sent me something really funny. It's all a few JPG.
But there is no attachment in my attachment folder of eudora, which means she didn't send me any attachment, so I assume she sent me a link on a graphics JPG.

I can't right click and save those JPG, and I can't seem to view the link assuming it is a link.

I recently changed to comcast cable internet. I can send and receive mail at my earthlink.net email. However, I cannot send to someone at an "rcullen.com" email address. I have NEVER had this problem with this domain.

I went over all settiings with comcast and they are correct.

Does anyone know how to UNBLOCK an email address from not being able to be sent to? Or, is there a setting or workaround so that i can send from comcast to the rcullen.com email address?

Comcast has not told me it is blocked, but I can think of no other reason and I've read that they randomly block TONS of email domains for "spam" purposes.

Anyone else have a solution to this? Thanks!

hello:

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.

I use:

-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier

Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

In the near future, my partner and I will be living in separate places of abode. Therefore, my partners Email address (which is currently managed by Outlook Express), will cease to exist. I need to arrange something whereby, when she sets up her new email address, the contents of her email folders are able to be transferred to that new email address....I have this thought in the back of my mind that I can do this with Thunderbird....if I install Thunderbird on her PC, now... and then back up the files and folders using the information here......http://email.about.com/od/mozillathunderbirdtips/qt/et_backup_prof.htm........establish a new email address, when that time comes.....and then restore the Thunderbird files/profile etc, from the backup.or.....am I just having a daydream....could it be that simple?Need some input here. I want to be sure I have not missed the bleepin obvious.....I dont want to lose all that she has.

For what it is worth, I backup My Thunderbird and Firefox with MozBackup http://download.cnet.com/MozBackup/3000-2242_4-10260383.htmlAs great as it is to have tools such as Firefox and Thunderbird, backing them up can be a tedious process. MozBackup is a tiny program that makes saving and restoring all your bookmarks, extensions, and other personal settings a streamlined and stress-free experience. The program works with Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and Netscape on Windows platforms. It doesn't work with Firefox Portable, Sunbird, Songbird, or Flock, but for standard Windows iterations of the programs in the Mozilla suite, it's almost silly to not use this program.Close the program you want to back up, then runI used MozBackup recently to move all my Thunderbird email and settings and Firefox favorites etc. from one computer to another. No problems. It seems to me that your plan is sound, Import into Thunderbird, Backup, install Thunderbird on new computer and restore everything.Did I mention you can you can check or uncheck what you want and not backup what you don't want to backup.Hope this helpsRoger

Hi, I would like to know if there are any way to catch and send IP address of someone who login to Such private email like yahoo, gmail, etc. to us ? Is there any web services give that service for free ? or we have to send script or file to target Laptop ? This metoe is important to find someone who missing ?Thank You

Answer:Email IP address from user login to spesific others email

This would be private information that Yahoo/Gmail would have. Probably the only legal way to do it would be to get them involved. Even then, the ip address may or may not assist you in location as that information on the particular ip address may also be behind another services system. If its a criminal matter, I would recommend going through proper authorities.mike

Hi all,

I have a problem, a client had a setup with another mailserver (Mdaemon), that allowed him to do that.
Anyone knows how to do the same in Exchange? I thought about distribution lists, but I don't think it will work to have a dist. list called [email protected], with the members joe, martin and peter. You can't have an email address with the same name as a distribution list right?

How would you solve this?

Thanks!

Answer:How to forward all the email sent to an email address to 2 other (Exchange 2003)?

You could have [email protected] go to joe, martin, and peter and you can call it [email protected] if you like.

If you are talking about Joe having the e-mail address [email protected] and he wants e-mails to go to martin and peter as well, then you can do that, but it would work best by using Outlook to create the server side rule. Though I have a few issues with that, in that if Joe gets something non-work related it will go to the other two as well.

Also you could create [email protected] if Joe's e-mail address is [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected], or [email protected]

I would guess that she created her gmail account on a desktop computer, and at some point was attempting to play a game in one window while the text she was generating was being entered into her gmail account profile name field.

Edit: removed the person's email address.

A lot of spam (but not all) comes from "harvesting" programs that spammers use to "harvest" email addresses left on Internet pages. Some spammers can also harvest addresses from "Forwarded" emails.

So, to eliminate the Internet page source of spam, there are three things you can do:

1) NEVER leave your "personal" email address on the Internet.
Now there are some sites that absolutely INSIST that you leave an email address - like when joining discussion groups, when making a purchase, setting up your profile for your Health Insurance web site, Online banking, etc.

For that requirement, see point #3.
2) On discussion group postings, always "munge" your mail address if you want to post it.
"Munge" means to disguise it. For example, one of my email addresses (see point #3 for why I have more than one) is rbjamie [at] gmail.com. Notice that I typed out "at" instead of using the @ symbol. That's "munging". Most harvesters look for the @ symbol to get email addresses, so if you leave out the @ symbol by typing "at", the harvesters will not identify it.

However, spammers are getting more sophisticated tools, and harvesters may now look for "at" when it's typed out - which is why I put it in brackets too. But then they may look for "at" in brackets too - it's a real cat-and-mouse game.
3) THIS IS THE TIP THAT'S MOST IMPORTANT

Answer:Tip on how to keep spam out of your "personal" email address . . .

Forgot to add another option for those "Forwarded" emails that contain a lot of addresses.

If "Auntie" insists on still forwarding her emails without removing all the addresses or using the bcc feature, then tell her this:

You are changing your email address to: (insert your INTERNET EMAIL ADDRESS) and you will no longer get her emails at the address she has. So tell her to forward those emails to your "new" email address (that would be your INTERNET EMAIL ADDRESS). And tell her to put your "new" email address in her address book and delete the current one.

This way at least she will be forwarding stuff that's likely to generate spam to an address that you already use for a repository for junk email. So if it gets contaminated from her forwarding . . . so what?? . . . it's ALREADY contaminated probably (from leaving it as your email address on the Internet).

And too, if Auntie is not too computer savvy (and most, BUT NOT ALL, who forward chain emails and joke emails are NOT computer savvy), you don't want her to have your "personal" email address in her address book, BECAUSE IF SHE GETS ONE OF THOSE WORM VIRUSES (AND THAT'S LIKELY) THAT GOES THROUGH HER ADDRESS BOOK AND MAILS ITSELF OUT TO ALL IN HER ADDRESS BOOK, you want that virus to show up in your Internet Email account.

Of course, it really doesn't matter where a virus shows up - AND I'M ASSUMING YOU HAVE AN ANTIVIRUS ON-ACCESS SCANNER ... Read more

I have a 2007 Gateway Laptop with Microsoft Vista on it. I have a personal email account with Hotmail.com

This morning when I checked my email, there was several emails indicating a delivery failure. However an email advertising viagra from a canadian drugstore was sent using my account to several people on my contact list. I checked with them and they definitely got that email.

So I think I have some kind of virus or malware that is using my email account to send spam email to people on my contact list.

Can anybody help me with rooting this out?

Thank you.

John

In our village in Spain, we have a very dodgy wireless internet access system, run by a company called NijarNet that is very difficult to communicate with - partly a language problem and partly because their customer service is dreadful. I have 13 clients with accounts here (I'm a management agent), and I manage these for them - they are all either wifi or wimax which pick up the signal from various antennae in the area. One such client was having no problem until something called Spamcop blocked his emails. Since then, he is unable to send emails from his 02 account, although he can send from his gmail account with no problem. He can receive on both accounts. O2 says it's not their problem, but that I must talk to the provider (which I have tried to do but they deny it's their problem and can't/won't give any advice on what the problem might be). I reckon it's something fairly simple that I might be able to sort myself, maybe a setting on the router? Can you offer any advice? He's tried it on several different laptops, devices etc with no luck. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi guys heres one that is driving me nuts.
an email account is set up with an isp here , its btconnect.com
so the email is say [email protected]
now joe has two email aliases on his account e.g.

[email protected]
and
[email protected]

now when joe accesses his account through outlook it obviously checks the btconnect account and sends the mail to the correct alias, but it cant seem to do it.
what happens is , it logs on checks one alias then the server errors whilst checking the other as it is still logged on i assume to the main btconnect mail account and so errors out

e.g [email protected] works and roofing.co.uk errors out
i would like to find a way to check flooring first and roofing after but cant figure it out
someone suggested using identities in outlook express but isnt outlook the better program and surely there is some kind of feature for this problem

usually after it gets its bearings it is then happy and says send receive complete but after a couple of tries and leaving an error message at the bottom of the screen
0x800cc0f
as it is trying to check the two accounts on the same email address at the same time.
any ideas anyone
i am even willing to try thunderbird instead
just the managers like the calender etc in outlook

Answer:Outlook Using 2 email aliases on one email address

still no ideas on this one.
maybe using rules in outlook would help.
I could just check mail from the BT account
e.g. [email protected] and filter the mail for the aliases into the corresponding mail box, but how then if a mail is written in outlook could it be send from the correct account.
e.g [email protected] or [email protected] rather than the mail appearing as though it was sent from [email protected] , wow outlook is confusing stuff lol.

How do I set a G Mail email address as my default email address on Windows 7?

Answer:How do I set a G Mail email address as my default email on W...

Hi, Gmail is not a program, it is a web base email service therefore you can't set Gmail as default email in Windows 7. But if you also have Outlook (One Office program) on your machine, you can set Gmail as your default in Outlook. Other email programs (yes, programs) may also support this. Regards.

I'm helping a friend with her computer. Here are the 2 issues.

1) The email app in Windows 8.1 on her laptop just stopped working. She can no longer send or receive emails at all from any of her accounts. She says that she believes it has happened before maybe even a couple times a month.

2) This may or may not be related - The main email address in the app is her work email address from an old job. Whether it's related or not, she wants to undo that and have her primary email address to login or whatnot. She has since deleted all of her other email addresses from the app.

Hopefully others have had this issue and able to assist.

Thanks guys!

Whenever I try to send information to a site via their email forms, I get "You have not entered a valid email address". This could be in placing an order or just to send information to a customer service dept. I have tried on Internet Explorer and Avant browsers and even used another computer. I am using XP in a Dell computer. Any ideas?

I am helping a friend with their computer mess. The husband uses Windows Live as his email client and the wife uses direct Road Runner.

They both use the same computer. When the husband tries to send email to his wife's email acct, she never receives it. Yet he can send emails to me and I am a Road Runner email address. So I know that his Windows Live is set up correctly.

His wife's email is working fine directly through Road Runner as she can send and receive emails.

SO... Seems to me the issue has something to do with using the same computer and he never signs out of Windows Live. (I personally use Outlook as I am a business and am not familiar with Windows Live)

He never gets any kind of Undeliverable mail message or anything.

Can anyone help me here. I'm am do back over to continue cleaning up some other issues with his system. And I'm not sure where to go from here.

Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone. A few days ago I got a mailerdamon failure notice. I looked and it was a link sent out to a bunch of my contacts....I've changed my password about 4 times, and it just happened again today. I'm changing my password from another computer btw. When I look in my sent folder, it doesn't have the virus email as one that's been sent. I just downloaded Avira Antivirus, and it says its blocking a site from connecting to my computer, it scanned and found two GEN/pwd.zip virus and quarantined them. I'm also getting a DEP error on IE when I try to get on the net.

Worth noting, the past few days I was on another forum do to my computer trying to connect to "pinball corp". I was using malwarebytes at that time, which I've since uninstalled because Avira says it might conflict with it. We went through all the malware removal procedures, and when I tried to run TFC.exe, my computer froze. So I hardbooted it. When it came back on I couldn't run any programs, and my wireless network driver was uninstalled. I was able to delete a lot of programs from my startup folder that I wasn't using, and when I restarted I could run programs again.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Answer:unauthorized email being sent from email address

Clark,

Remove McAfee, it is horrible. But this is probably just experience talking. However, people don't need a virus to have access to your email. Change the password!
