Error 0x80070643 Failed to execute MSI package while installing Intel chipset drivers

Question: Error 0x80070643 Failed to execute MSI package while installing Intel chipset drivers

On Windows 10 OS laptop I got this error while installing Intel chipset drivers : Error 0x80070643: Failed to execute MSI package. The installation failed.
The microsoft website seems to indicate it is a netframework corruption error but I can't find the netframework repair tool for windows 10 to fix it.
Any suggestions ?

Preferred Solution: Error 0x80070643 Failed to execute MSI package while installing Intel chipset drivers

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Error 0x80070643 Failed to execute MSI package while installing Intel chipset drivers

Ensure that Windows Installer service msiserver is started and running via services.msc.
Repair the msiexec.exe file using system file checker. Run sfc\scanfile C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe.

Hi, I am having some problems getting these drivers to install correctly on my newly set up computer.

The first one I had an issue with was the intel chipset driver (INFUpdate).

First it would pop up with a window saying "PCI Standard PCItoPCI Bridge" with an ok button to install it,
Then the next window would pop up saying "PCI Standard ISA Bridge" with an ok button to install it.

After clicking ok on the ISA bridge one, it comes up with the following error:
ERROR:
An unknown rror occurred.
Setup will now exit.

Not a very usefull error code eh?
The second Driver I had an issue with, was the Audio device drivers (Realtek High Definition Audio Driver(2.96) R2.45).

After following the prompts to get the installer started, it looks as if it is going to work.
It opens up in full screen with the brand and everything on it, has the little installing bar going, while showing all of the file names it installs as it goes,
then a small window pops up over the installation progress bar, saying install sheild wizard installing, then it comes up with the following error:

Install sheild wizard installing
RUNDLL
Error Loading Streamci
The Specified module could not be foundClick to expand...

Does anyone know what could be going wrong here, and how to fix the problem?

The Mother board is "Ultra Durable tm 3 Motherboard" ( GA-P55-UD3 )

The CPU I have is an Intel Core I7 2.8 Intel Core i7 -8 Series Socket 1156

On the one hand, not sure what you mean as to white vs blue

On the other hand, not sure it matters. My best advice is to run the Intel® Driver Update Utility and let it choose the correct chipset drivers for you.

Hi,

I think my chipset is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz and my motherboard is Gigabyte GA-8TRC410M-NF but when using Driver Genius to scan for driver updates it reports back AMD South Bridge Driver (PCI bus) & AMD Chipset Drivers (ATII/O Communications Processor SMBus Controller) need installing/updating ?

Do I need them ? I think I've installed ATI Catalyst before for the SMBus driver but recently uninstalled because I didn't understand what it was for and didn't like the folder/installer

Answer:AMD Drivers On An Intel Chipset (South Bridge & Chipset Drivers ?)

First thing, check your specs just to be 100% sure of what you have.

Second, Driver Genius and any similar program is not really recommended as they aren't particularly reliable.

Then if you still have drivers for stuff you don't have we can talk about them.

I'm running Version 1607 build 14393.1358. 64 bit

Another update which installed broke iCloud working with Office 2007 - this has been reported elsewhere. In order to get things working again I had to do a system restore to roll back a couple of weeks. All the other updates have reinstalled again ok apart from KB4013214 which gives a failed to install - Error 0x80070643 every time I reboot the machine.

To also note although I'm sure not related is that after I did the system restore I also decided to upgrade Office so uninstalled 2007 and installed 2016 pro. That all installed fine and is working including the iCloud link.

These are the updates installed on my machine...

How do I fix it? Thanks

Hi all,

I keep getting this error when installing the Windows 10 SDK, or just the debugging section. There are lots of messages all over the net about this error and Windows Update, but I don't have any problems with Windows Update.

Is there any way to install Windows 10 debugging without triggering this error?

Are you using the standalone SDK installer? https://dev.windows.com/en-us/downloads/windows-10-sdk
Did you have any previous release of the SDK installed?
If you're using the standalone SDK, try temporarily disabling your anti-virus.

Hi guys,

I am getting the error 9c59 when installing IE 10 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

In event viewer the error code 0x80070643 is shown, reading up on this Microsoft suggests it has something to do with .net framework 4 and that this should have a repair install run. I did this but it made no difference.

I have run the SFC scan and added the logs as suggested.

Please help guys, I really don't want to have to re-install.

Well; the thing is; usually the drivers intel puts out are just "generic" drivers; as they arent made specifically for any brand. What is the brand of your motherboard?

As advised in another thread I have downloaded and installed the Intel Chipset Drivers Update but the nothing happened to the unknown device I see in Device Manager. The installation completes instantly and I see that this indicates the drivers in the update are not needed by my system.

I am running Widows 7 Professional and the motherboard details show Intel 915P and Intel ICHR6 chipsets. The unknown device appears under Other Devices and in the Properties the Hardware IDs are listed as:

ACPI\WEC0513
*WEC0513

I would be grateful if anyone can point me to drivers for this device. However to be completely upfront I am not aware of the existence of a device in my system that is not working or available to me. So I could live with the situation!

Hey guys,

I searched around for a bit but have so far been unable to find a direct answer -- what Intel chipset drivers should I use for a clean install of Windows 7 RTM?

I've seen links to some older Intel Windows 7 Beta chipset drivers around, but when I go to Intel's site I can't find any Windows 7 files at all.

Thanks.

Answer:Windows 7 RTM - Intel Chipset Drivers?

Use the ones it comes with, simple. If you require RAID capability the default ones should handle it just fine, but if necessary grab the latest Storage Matrix drivers for Vista, they'll work fine (but they may not install if the default ones in Windows 7 are newer).

Intel may post some updated drivers if necessary in the next few days or weeks now that Windows 7 is "out" for MSDN/TechNet folks, but in terms of them being available just because of this, that's a shot in the dark.

Most manufacturers will STILL not provide actual working drivers for Windows 7 until the general release date of Oct 22nd. They can't be doing support on an as-yet released OS for the minority of folks running it while they're still trying to get the damned drivers working in the first place.

Intel Chipset Drivers v9.3.0.1021To ensure proper installation of the Intel Chipset Drivers incase you were not installing them for the first time after a format, do the following:1) Double click on the exe file you downloaded and when prompted to extract it a folder, add a \chip to the end of the path (this makes it easier to type it in DOS)2) Copy that folder to the root of your C:\ Partition3) Press the START MENU button > All Programs > Accessories > then right click on Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator4) In the Command Prompt, type:- cd\ to back to the ROOT of c: - cd chip to go into the folder Chip -setup.exe -overall then hit ENTERNow the drivers will be installed completely because if you don't follow this method, then as soon as you run the setup regularly and hit next, you will notice that the installation completed and nothing happened. Intel Chipset Drivers have direct impact on performance especially taking into consideration that the last update of the drivers on the ASUS site and previously on the Intel site were 6 months old so I reckon these drivers would bring in better support for the Ivy Bridge!

Hi all,

I have a Dell workstation (Precision 670) with a single Xeon Irwindale 3.4 GHz and I installed windows 7 x64. I am ok with all of my devices, some drivers are windows 7, my wireless adaptor is a vista driver that works fine, and the rest are Microsoft generic (chipset etc). I tried to intsall the latest intel inf using -OVERWRITE but it didn't update anything from the E7525 related devices. I know this chipset is old but its the first time that a Windows 7 instalation gives me worst benchmarks compared to XP even with generic chipset drivers.

Anyway the thing I would like to ask is if anyone knows in what OS did they stop the support for E7525, so if it is Vista I could try to use the Vista drivers in some way... Intel gives no info, they just have one single file for 5 OS's and 40 chipsets and if it installs it installs.... LAME!

Answer:Chipset drivers for intel E7525

Usually whatever chipset drivers Windows installs works without problems. I used to do a lot of support on the Dell users forum and we didn't see any problems caused by chipset drivers on Dell PC's.

Basically I have found the chipset drivers from the Intel website, downloaded them along with the onboard graphics and all works fine.

The problem is the onboard sound and Ethernet controllers have not been detected, does anyone know of any generic drivers that could be used? or if needed, I can provide full model numbers which have been detected by Intels chipset detection utility

Many thanks in advance

Hello there,

I am new to the forums, so please excuse me for any rules I might break. I've read them all and as far as I know abide by them, but you never know.

The following problem is bothering me a lot:
Ever since my netbook crashed and I decided to reinstall Windows a week ago I am unable to install my video drivers: Intell Graphics Media Accelerator 3150. Whenever I do this (by using windows update or by downloading the drivers from ASUS) and I restart my netbook I get a blue screen with error 0x0000007f. When I look in the Event Viewer (after installing the driver via windows update I get the following errors:

EventID/Source
1001/BugCheck
41/Kernel-Power
6000/Winlogon
10005/DistributedCOM (four times)

After installing the driver using the drivers from the ASUS website:
6008/EventLog

7001/Service Control Manager (eighteen times)
7026/Service Control Manager
1001/BugCheck
6000/WinLogon
10005/DistributedCOM (six times)

I fix this problem by going in to safe mode and uninstalling the same drivers again. After that I can restart Windows and everything is back to normal again.

Answer:BSOD after installing Intel Graphics 3150 drivers, error 0x0000007f

Very curious, in each and every crashdump the generic monitor driver showed up as the cause, and all from the same function (monitor!BrightnessTargetToPercentage+32), which is evident it's dealing with altering the brightness of the monitor, probably during a power-saving operation (like when the cable is unplugged or something else triggers the monitor to dim or brighten). I kinda wanna suspect that Windows didn't install great all the way.

If you want, you can go into device manager and go to your monitor and delete the driver for it. It should then automatically recover the driver from its local driver repository. Then, go to the Asus website and look for any updates for your chipset/motherboard/cpu drivers, as well as monitor, BIOS, and finally the graphics. Once you install the graphics drivers, hopefully it'll work this time.

If that doesn't work, you should run Disk Check (both options) followed by SFC Scan. Remember to run the SFC scan from whatever you used to install Windows (USB/DVD) by entering the Recovery Environment from there. Running it from the Recovery Environment hosted on your drive will not work.

If none of those comes up with anything, and you're still getting an issue when installing the graphics drivers, then I have to assume we're dealing with faulty hardware here. I mean, you did reinstall Windows because your system was crashing, so whatever was crashing it before the reinstall most likely is what is causing it now: hardware failure.

Out of curiosity...and I know this might sound like a dumb question.....Lets say you've installed the Intel chipsets first as you are supposed to do...then you install the rest (Intel Management Interface, graphics, SATA, Audio, Network and any other driver updates that are required).
What happens if 6 months later a newer version of the Intel Chipset software becomes available?
!. Do you install it or not?
2. If you do install a newer version of the Intel chipsets do you then have to install all your other hardware drivers ((Intel Management Interface, graphics, SATA, Audio, Network) again? i.e does it affect the previous drivers that you might have installed in a recommended installation order. The reason I ask is because I know its critical that Intel Chipsets are installed before anything else and Im not 100% sure why though I have a good idea.
Would installing a newer version of the Intel Chipsets affect any previous hardware drivers you installed or would it just make the new chipsets more compatible with any new devices you might install in the future without interfering with any previous drivers for any hardware that you have already installed?
Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question. Im just trying to get a better understanding of how the Intel Chipsets work

Answer:Question about installing Intel Chipset software

What happens if 6 months later a newer version of the Intel Chipset software becomes available?

Yes. It updates all the drivers for built in Intel devices on the Mother Board. However, if the MB contains a third party hardware such as Realtek Network controller, Renasas USB3 etc... then you have to update it separately from Realtek/Renasas if they have new drivers for them.

If you do install a newer version of the Intel chipsets do you then have to install all your other hardware drivers ((Intel Management Interface, graphics, SATA, Audio, Network) again?

Again, if the hardware from third party manufacturer then yes you'd have to update those drivers separately.

As far as I can tell by looking in each folder of g5dn13ww.exe, there are no intel integrated (HD4000) drivers at all in the install package.   If installed, this causes problems in Optimus mode with the Nvidia manager and if OS graphics detection is turned on in the bios, it will  not switch Optimus on, since what remains on the laptop is an older version of the intel graphics.      I had to install the latest from Intel directly, but am wary of breaking Optimus, though the Optimus switching dll's are only in the Nvidia installation files (those are there in g5dn13ww.exe).

Hi all,

I just wanted to know if it was possible to use Intel Mobile 4 Series Express Chipset drivers with Windows 8. I've read that you could use the drivers for Windows 7 in Windows 8, but I haven't really proven that to be true.

I keep getting this error:

but I really don't get why I'm getting that message - it's giving me this message like I'm trying to run the software on a computer from the '90s. It really doesn't make sense to me since just about all other software can run on newer operating systems.

All I want to know is if it's possible to install these drivers on my computer, and if not, if there's a patch or a substitute.

Thank you for any answers.

Hi Mooseman,

Welcome to the forums,

Try booting from the dvd in normal mode and deleting both drives and then try your raid again.

Normally you would also have to set up a raid array in the Bios. It is to my knowledge not just a case of selecting raid over sata, but then your laptop could possibly be different

You should normally install the raid drivers, when vista fails to find your harddrives which would be a part of a normal raid install At this point you would be given the option to insta... Read more

Today i have installed a new SSD (my only drive), installed windows and appropriate drivers, except for one, it seems. The intel chipset drivers have not properly installed after selecting the option to do so on the CD included with my motherboard. See the attached screenshot for my list of devices, where you can see the issue. I am able to find the installed drivers in C:\windows\chipset\win7_XP, but as you can see in the screenshot, it's not working properly. After installation i also got a pair of errors that said it couldn't find hotfix\asussetup.ini, of which the folder does not exist. I managed to remove that error by making changes in the task scheduler, but that may have not gotten rid of the root cause.

The same MOBO drivers i installed earlier used to be installed on my previous windows install, on a HDD. There i discovered that they were the 9.3 drivers, which don't work with SSD's (they only work with an SSD from 9.6 and onward). My idea was to install the 9.3 drivers and then use the Intel Driver Update Utility (Intel(R) Driver Update Utility) to update them, but this didn't work either. Installing the program resulted in a bluescreen, with the message "page fault in non-paged area". After the following reboot the utility program wasn't starting (nor did it have a functional desktop icon), so i've uninstalled it, but i still don't have the right drivers now.

On intel drivers pour chipsets you can notice that there are two chipset drivers. 9.2.3.1017 and 9.2.0.1031. Both are recent and seem to be different branches, like apache and apache2. Can anyone confirm or deny this and tell me what the difference is? My motherboard maker (msi) recommends 9.2.0.1030 for my z68 gd mobo. Im currently running 9.2.0.1031 without hitches. But the 9.2.3.1017 are whql. Whats the difference between these branches?

Answer:Whats the difference between intel inf (chipset) drivers?

It's just that the 9.2.3.1017 WHQL version is the latest version released for those chipsets. The motherboard manufacturer driver download sites are usually way behind the latest version.

Hey everybody! I'm running Windows 7 on an Emachines t2862, which has an Intel Integrated Chipset (845g, "Itel Extreme Graphic", specifically).
I've tried installing the XP drivers using the installation as well as the tutorial floating around the forums for installing XP graphic drivers. Both caused Windows to crash shortly after booting. I had plenty of time to open a few programs, but about 45 seconds after booting, Windows simply freezes (mouse included).
I had to boot into safemode and roll the driver back to the standard VGA driver to fix it.

Does anybody have any tips? Thanks!

Answer:Intel Integrated 845g Chipset Drivers

You should try using Vista Drivers for it if you can find them else you will just be stuck with the default Windows Drivers.

I have looked on the Intel Support website but can't find the chipset here is the details from a Everest Report

You say that this is a laptop? I would check the manufacturers website for drivers sometimes they have device drivers for whatever laptop you may have, I looked at the intel site and didnt see your chipset on there. What brand and model is your laptop?

This is the only set of Intel drivers that actually install without having to manually update the USB devices and other system devices. There is a newer set but they don't install properly yet. Just thought someone may be looking for a driver that works without the hassle of manually installing them.

Answer:Only intel chipset drivers that install on Windows 8

Yeah, I've noticed an issue with the downloadable Intel NIC drivers from their website. It'd install properly but the drivers messed up NETIO.SYS file for some reason.

After running Refresh installation and let my system use the drivers provided by Windows 8, it works now. No more BSODs. The drivers from Windows 8 are current with what Intel provided, so I don't have to bother downloading their driver installer.

I reformatted the HDD on my pre-built Acer Predator G5900 (think that was the model). I had to download the Realtek Lan drivers from the Acer site to get internet access. On the site were two other drivers which I haven't yet installed and am not sure if I need:

AHCI_Intel_9.5.0.1037_W7x64_A
Chipset_Intel_9.1.1.1020_W7x64_A

I've been running Win7 without these drivers for a couple of weeks now, but I do feel that performance is slightly lower than it was before, though I could be imagining it. Are these safe to install like any other driver (gfx drivers for example), and would they have any benefit?

Thanks.

when u reload windows you always load the drivers from the mfr......... in your case u would load the chipset drivers (your version of win' 7 32 or 64 bit???) then reboot....... then u would load lan, sound and onboard vga drivers .......... reboot between each

Hi.I have Lenovo Y400 with Windows 10 updage, since I've been upgraded from Windows 7. Currently I have problems with external usb 3.0 hdd because of lack of Intel chipset drivers for C216 chipset Intel HM76 motherboard. External usb hdd occasionally fails to be regonized by system and doesn't work until I uplug it and plut it again.According to Intel's community they don't support this motherboard as it is shipped as OEM for laptop manufacturers, so I'm asking my question here. Is Lenovo Y400 model already obsolete and we won't get Windows 10 upgrade with drivers ugraded?

PCs from Hewlett-Packard, Gateway, Lenovo, and other major computer makers that contain a widely used Intel chipset can't be upgraded to Windows Vista Service Pack 1 if they're running certain drivers.
Microsoft has said that Vista SP1 won't work with "a small number of device drivers." The list, however, includes drivers for an Intel chipset that's found in thousands of PCs and laptops.

The affected chipset is Intel's 945G Express series, which is used in computers from virtually all major system vendors. It's also found on standalone motherboards sold by Asus. The 945G Express chipset driver versions between numbers 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403 won't work with Vista SP1, according to Microsoft.

Chipsets provide a connection point for all key subsystems within a PC.

The 945G Express chipset includes Intel's GMA 950 graphics core, which also won't work with Vista SP1 if those drivers are used.

Microsoft is urging Vista users to update all of their hardware to the latest drivers before even attempting to install SP1.

The service pack also won't work with computers that use certain, widely-deployed audio drivers from Realtek and certain drivers for security devices manufactured by Symantec. Microsoft has published a full list of drivers that are incompatible with the service pack.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is continuing to receive reports from computer users who say Vista SP1 is wreaking havoc on their systems... Read more

Answer:Vista SP1 chokes on widely used Intel chipset drivers

Now that goes some way to explain why MS are offering free support for SP1 issues - strange how a service pack can cause this many problems!

The Vista support site offers free support for SP1 installation and compatibility issues via email, telephone instant message (IM) chat and is open during US Pacific time business hours for one year. Microsoft had not responded to enquiries about availability for those users in the UK at the time of writing.Click to expand...

I've tried both the newest version and the "Toshiba download"(5.0) version of the intel drivers, but anything change: The installation utility doesn't recognize the chipset and/or the OS (Win2k SP 4).

What can I do? It isn't a good thing at all that Toshiba doesn't explain the detailed chipset of the notebook's motherboard...

I've made sure the RPC is on and that the second service is on manual so that isn't the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Check Windows for corruption. Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

Hey,

So I have posted this problem on another large forum but the thread has only received 9 views and 0 replies. So, here it goes:

I am going to try to keep this post short so let me know if you all need any more information. My dad and I just finished building a new computer. The computer posted and we managed to get Windows 7 x64 installed onto the Samsung 840 EVO 250GB solid state drive. After getting Windows 7 installed, I found that I would have to use the motherboard disc in order to install some of the Windows drivers. So, I installed the network adapter driver, a couple others, and then the Intel Chipset driver. Here is the issue:

While installing the Intel chipset driver, the computer restarted and booted up in order to finish the installation. The mouse and keyboard (plugged in via two USB 2.0 ports) were working fine right up until the driver installation reached the 'installation has finished successfully screen'. After the driver installation finished, the power to the mouse and keyboard was cut. I shut down the computer and booted into the BIOS where the mouse and keyboard work absolutely fine. However, right when Windows 7 starts up, the mouse and keyboard cease functioning.

I realize that I could try and boot into the Windows installation CD and do a fresh install but in the long run, this wouldn't really solve the issue and I would have to re-download/re-install all the programs I just spent an hour downloading/installing. So, this is option is... Read more

Hi.
I've installed Win XP SP2 Pro on my Satellite A200-1SM and everything was ok until I installed Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility version 8.2.0.1014 (newest on Toshiba download site; before this step all USB dev. worked correctly), after that all my USB devices refused to work. I had my windows up to date with updates from Microsoft, but that didn't change a thing.

I'm using Vista again, but still want to work someday at XP os.

Please help me if you can.

Answer:USB does not work after installing Intel Chipset Utility on Satellite A200

After clean OS installation Chipset must be installed at first. After chipset installation you should continue with other drivers. Please check Toshiba download page and be sure you use right installations order following ?Installations Instructions? document.

I have installed WXP several times on A200 and P200 without any problems. Following other threads here I didn?t notice anyone with the same problem as you. Please just follow installations order. It must work. This drivers are offered almost a year now.

Good day all .

I read various posts on different area's regarding chipset installation and drivers.

Some info : motherboard is Microstar p45 platinum gamer series.

it comes with 2 sets of cd's #1 for win xp intel chipset drivers&utilities disk.
#2 chipset disk for vista.

question #1 does windows 7 64bit (pro) contain the sata drivers and all the utilities for install ? or do i need to utilize the preinstall of the f6 and make a install floppy? msi has a section for downloads .

I have searched for the uptodate drivers listed in the arcive section where my board is now listed.

I have downloaded all the drivers and a floppy f6 creater to install these files

I am a bit confused as to how i am going to install win 7 on this system .

I may go with a xp/7 duel boot .

I want to add raid 5 after 7 install and i know xp could not see anything beyond raid 0 or 1.
looking for some advice before i start the process.

I hope the thread title is better this time.
if the install sequence works the way i want it to go ; perhaps i can create a tuit.
thanks for everyone's help .
its always appreciated

I am using a sata hard drive and am going to be upgrading to a ssd drive.

What is the difference between the 2 driver sets?

Thanks!

The RST driver is the AHCI / Raid driver which i don't think Intel actually bundles with the .inf chipset installation utility, so i think you actually need both.

I know i did for this Z77 chipset.

Hi everyone,

Here is my problem :

I just replaced my old graphic card with a ATI Radeon x1650 Powercolor. I updated the drivers of course.
Everything is working fine, except for one (old) game (Worms4Mayhem). This game was working with my old and outdated graphic card.

After mailing back and forth to Codemasters support, they advise me to update my chipset drivers.
So i downloaded (many times) the necessary file to update my nvidia nforce2 chipset driver. But the installshield program won't start...

I got these questions :
- Is the chipset driver update advice wise?
- How can i get this install to work ? Why doesn't it work properly?

Feel free to ask more precisions about my problem, i apologize for not having much knowledge in computers.

Here are my specs :
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
2,08GHZ 1,50 Go RAM
Windows XP Pro sp2
MoBo : Asus A7N8X-X
Graphic card : ATI Radeon x1650 Powercolor

Thanx in advance for your help

Answer:Installing chipset drivers

Don't know if the chipset driver update will help with your game, but it's not a bad idea to have the latest drivers for all your devices.
Where are you getting the driver from? Are you getting these?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html
As for why the install won't start, I'm not sure. You could try getting winrar or 7-zip, then right-clicking the file and picking extract to <folder name>. Then run setup.exe in the folder that was created. If that still doesn't work, try running the file in safe mode.

Hello

I have some questions to ask

Recently I have done a fresh install of window 7 professional but when I was installing "Intel? Chipset Software(Intel Cougar point chipset driver)(SB bus controller) while my External hard drive was plugged In( For drivers to be installed) the screen went black for maybe a few seconds and my external hard drive was disconnected when the installation was completed it connected back to the laptop.

1) I was quite scared when the external hard drive was disconnected , if installing Intel Chipset? Software(SB Bus controller) could this damage external hard drive or the laptop as the screen went black and the external hard drive was disconnected then reconnected. Does Intel Chipset? software causes voltage spike( What I mean is if the external hard drive is using maybe 5V but the Intel software made it jump to 8V/Laptop screen at 50V but Intel Software jumping to 55V)

2) Is there any rule or difference on install which driver orders because I installed it in my way in which I think what should come first(like Intel Graphics then Nvidia and maybe wireless card)

Answer:Installing Intel® Chipset Software while external Hard drive pluggedin

Driver install order doesn't matter. But of course you first have to install USB drivers before installing an usb printer driver.

Hi
My system event log is filled with the above messages, which can be posted as frequently as 3 per second!
I am experiencing 'system lockup' with disc usage at 99-100%, particularly when starting up, so I can't do anything for quite some time.

After a while the laptop frees up and disk usage decreases down to normal usage levels and I can use the laptop, normally, most of the time.

So, my question is - are the two things related - and if so, how can I overcome the TPM problem?
If they are not related, is there a way to resolve the error message anyway so it doesn't happen, as I assume it can't be normal?

Many thanks for any help.

Hi, I'm trying to add the November, 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3197868) to out install.wim using DISM offline because the same install is failing using the Scheduled Updates process in Config Manager.
Some pertinent (I think) lines from the DISM.log include:
DISM Package Manager: PID=2868 Failed while processing command add-package. - CPackageManagerCLIHandler::ExecuteCmdLine(hr:0x8000ffff)
DISM.EXE: DISM Package Manager processed the command line but failed. HRESULT=8000FFFF
Anyone seen this problem before or had success adding the Security Monthly Quality Rollup updates either via DISM or Scheduled Updates?

Out of curiosity...and I know this might sound like a dumb question.....Lets say you've installed the Intel chipsets first as you are supposed to do...then you install the rest (Intel Management Interface, graphics, SATA, Audio, Network and any other driver updates that are required).
What happens if 6 months later a newer version of the Intel Chipset software becomes available?
!. Do you install it or not?

Answer:A few questions about installing the chipset drivers

I find that most times if the computer is working properly there is no pressing need to update many drivers unless a new feature has been added that wasn't available when the motherboard was in production. Some updates offered by Microsoft may not be exactly right for the hardware in the computer, especially for add-in cards like Video/Graphics as the vendor of a card buys the chipset on it then implements as they desire. I use the Sapphire line of ATI/AMD video cards and have never had success using Windows drivers with them.

Same for BIOS updates. I've had to do only one BIOS update and it was years ago to allow support for HDDs over 512MB after 540MB HDDs became available.

I have an Asus Striker Extreme motherboard, and following OS reinstall, am having problems installing chipset drivers. In particular, will not load drivers for network. System crashed after installation & system restart - If I then run from last working configuration, OS does not detect network (LAN) ports and will not install drivers (many attempts!)Have tried latest chipset drivers from Asus/Nvidea , plus have latest bios installed.Running out of ideas short of sending motherboard back! Any help appreciated.

Modem Drivers Install

Hi all i have my modem drivers, I hope lol.

I have been given an instruction to run a file called all_install_os it's still in the Tar.gz file but whenever i try to do anything with it all it does is open in Kwrite and show what looks to be coding. The instruction i've been given is to run the file but i don't know what i'm meant to do with it.

Hope you can help.

P.S. I managed to get Linux to recognise my DvD-R writer now even if it thinks its a ROM.

Answer:Installing WinModem Chipset drivers

Open a command promt, then go to the folder where the file is located & type tar xvfz <filename>.

Then see if it has extracte a README or INSTALL file & read them before you continue.

I recently upgraded to windows 10 and I got a notification that my drivers were out of date. I went onto the intel website and found that no graphics drivers were released past windows 7 for my intel 4 series express chipset family. It seems as if they are not planning to release drivers for windows 10 then? Is my only option to downgrade to windows 7 or are there safe 3rd party drivers I can use?

Answer:Will windows 10 graphics drivers be released for my intel 4 series express chipset family?

I face the same problem. Would be great if there's any chance to find a way to make the things work. I like the newest Windows, but if there won't be an upgrade for my intel 4 series express chipset family, I'm afraid I would need to downgrade.

It's a bit confusing, but here goes...

Someone I know at work created an image of machines using the Intel 815E chipset. Now he wants to transfer that same image onto a machine using the Intel 845GS chipset. However (and I'm sure no-one will be too surprised at this), the machine keeps blue-screening whenever we try to boot.
It's Win2K, corporate edition, all legit etc. Question is, how can we install the new chipset drivers into Windows without booting it up? It blue-screens before it goes anywhere, but is it possible to install from DOS, or using some other kind of alternate OS? (like bootable CD-ROM, FD, etc)
Of course, have already tried booting into safe mode, tried using the recovery console on the Win2K CD with no luck. (the latter allows him to check the drive, etc, but not INSTALL anything)

So... is this even possible? Or should I just forget this and start from scratch? Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Howdy there Nautilus...

Question is, how can we install the new chipset drivers into Windows without booting it up?Click to expand...

No can do, the OS has to be loaded before you can install the chipset drivers...

However...

You can load the image on one of the pc's with the 815E chipset, and install the Standard drivers for the IDE controllers, and Standard drivers for the Chipset ( when asked to reboot don't ), then use Sysprep with the -PNP option to force the mini setup, then dump the image back up to where you are storing the images, you may have to install the drivers for the 845GS chipset...

Hello
Just wondering if preinstalling chip set drivers is okay. I have all my chipset drivers downloaded from my motherboard providers webpage and then save them to a usb thumb drive. When the win 7 installer shows my partitions and drives i just click on load drivers and browse to usb and load all chipset drivers. I get a list of some 30 different drivers and install all.

Interestingly, there are 8 intel ich10 family usb enhanced host controllers (3A3C, 3A3A, 3A34-3A39) that wont install. I have to do it right after the installation is complete (first time i enter desktop environment). Any ideas why this might be happening and what to do about it? Also is it fine to install these drivers in this manner?

Cheers!

Answer:pre-installing chipset drivers a good thing?

Preinstalling???

As far as I know, the best practice is to install chipset drivers immediately after Windows, before any other drivers.

Asus P4V800D-X chipset drivers not installing

Hey,

I have been having VPU Recover errors with my 9600PRO ever since I have got my new VIA-based ASUS motherboard and so I contacted ATI support after updating graphics drivers, rolling them back, trying out third-party ones. I had to send an "ATI Error Report" to them and it says my chipset date is 2002, yet I have tried to install the Hyperion 4 in 1.

My northbridge is PT880 Ultra and that is mentioned on the Hyperion 4 in 1 compatible motherboards but the PT880 and the PT880Pro is there so I went for it but I have tried to install about 5 times now and the date is the same and the driver version is:

5.1.0.270

I don't really know if this is old or what and was wondering if you could help because I don't know what to do now.

P.S. I have updated my BIOS as ATI have asked also.

Thankyou, any reply is appreciated.

Well my PC randomly crapped out on me, after some elimination I found it was either the CPU or motherboard. Sadly I did not have another 775 socket motherboard to test CPU on so took a chance and bought a second hand P5KPL-VM and thankfully pc will now load, if only the BIOS.

I get a bluescreen error 0x7B when trying to boot with new motherboard and after a conversation with my dad (I should really stop listening to him) I put my hard drive back into the PC my friend lent me and ran driver sweeper assuming that windows would then use the default drivers, now neither PC will boot this drive. BIOS is definitely correctly set as it will load the Startup Repair Utility from HHD but it is of course useless. Currently using an Ubuntu bootable disk so have access to internet/files but need instructions on installing the chipset driver for new motherboard (P5KPL-VM Micro ATX) either through command line or moving correct files to correct directories with Ubuntu. To raise the stakes I have found that my Windows installation disk has gone walk about and so fresh install isn't an option (would have been resilient to that idea anyway as I'm pretty lazy).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hello, I took delivery of my new ThinkPad X270 three days ago. It is a 20HN model, and it has the 512 GB Intel SSD, with Windows 10 Pro. One of the problems I am having with the machine is that it randomly freezes for a few seconds intermittently. I read on the Microsoft forum that one solution to this was to check of Intel Rapid Space Technology was installed. In my device manager, I noticed that Rapid Storage Technology was missing. Instead, only the Microsoft Storae Spaces Controller and Standard NVM Express Controller are visible. Then there are no IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in the device manager, either. I downloaded the driver for Intel RST from the Lenovo web site and installed it, but when I rebooted my systel the storage controllers were still the same Microsoft ones, and the Intel RST was still not showing in the Device Manager. I also re-installed the chipset software, but the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers didn't show up either. This was all on a clean install of Windows 10. I already tried using the native troubleshooter app on Windows 10 as well as running an SFC scan, neither of these fixed the problem. Coud someone advise what I should do to install Intel RST?

Lenovo Download pages are impressive but useless. There are loads of individual drivers for different chipsets for one model M83. I downloaded the lot and tried installing the lot and PCI serial etc errors still appear in Device ManagerDoes anyone know where I can obtain a proper driver installation CD for my Lenovo M83 ThinkCentre?Motherboard manufacturers in China produce a far better solution to driver installation by letting users download the complete driver installation CDIBM have lost the plotPlease, has anyone got a proper driver installation CD for the Lenovo M83?

Answer:M83 Yellow Exclamations in Device Manager after installing Chipset Drivers

Referencing your particular model number will help identify which drivers you require on the download page.

Once you download the driver file and double click the .exe file, the driver is not installed, only unpacked and placed within the c:\drivers folder. This is standard behavior for Lenovo driver files. Either return to the driver folder and individually install each file, or from the Device Manager update drivers by directing to that driver folder.

You might want to give Thinkvantage System Update a try, (HERE) it will automatically search for and load necessary drivers.

I have an acer desktop (Veriton M460) intel chipset g33/g31 express chipset and in the device manager I get the yellow exclamation mark next to the device in the device manager.

I've gone to intel's website and ran the driver utility program but it tells me the driver is current and is "valid". When I go to acer's website directly and download/install the driver that way, as soon as it finishes I get two additional yellow question marks, one for "VGA video" and another for "SM Bus" then I'll go back to intel's website, run the driver utility program which fixes the two issues but then reverts the chipset back to the yellow exclamation mark

Answer:Intel chipset error in Device manager

Hello,
According to Acer your chipset is Intel 946GZ + ICH7DH

Have you tried the Intel INF update utility? It will update the INF files and if it finds one missing, will install it.

The Intel® Chipset Device Software installs the Windows* INF files. An INF is a text file that provides the operating system with information about a piece of hardware on the system. In the case of the current Intel Chipset Device Software, that information is primarily the product name for the piece of hardware. This allows the operating system to show the correct name for that piece of hardware in Device Manager.Click to expand...

My 64 bit HP Pavilion mother board died.  So I bought a SL 510 Thinkpad yesterday, and swapped the new hard drive with my old HP drive (so many apps - trying to save some time)!   The old drive has Windows 7 Home Premium Edition OS; the new drive came with Windows 7 Pro.  Lenovo tech support was kind enough to install the Lenovo Toolbox on my old drive, and then loaded all the updates. All my apps/printers/wifi work.  I've had no glitches, except for the following error message in the device manager regarding the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Driver Version 8.15.10.2302:      "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)  If you want to use this device, you will need to        disable one of the other devices on this system." The old computer had an ATI Radeon graphics card and AMD Turion 2 processor. So I uninstalled the HP drivers first as I thought they may be interfering with the Intel drivers. Then I re-installed the Intek Chipset driver. No fix. I then went into F1 Config > AHCI and chose Compatibility mode.  And - I logged into Lenovo support to look for a chipset flash, but was not sure which one I needed.  This is beyond the scope of the Lenovo warranty, so tech support could not help me.  Any ideas?  Your help will be greatly appreciated! Tim

I bought an Hp elite 8000 from Fry's which came preinstalled with Windows 10. I was surprised that the drivers aren't preinstalled unlike dell laptops like my Dell inspiron 3452. So that meant I had to go online to download the drivers. I downloaded the intel driver for the Intel 4500 chipset from Hp elite 8000 driver page but they didn't have a Windows 10 option which was kind of surprising. So I went to intel's website for the drivers but when I installed the drivers the unknown error came.

Not sure if anyone can help, but I'm getting the dreaded ialmrnt5.dll error and occasionally a blue screen. I am running windows XP-Pro and this seems to occur randomly at least 3 time per day, but has manifested itslef in:
* windows explorer when creating a new folder / changeing a folder name
* word 2003 when typing in a document
* excel 2003 when typing in a workbook
* outlook 2003 when selecitng a contact to send an email
The laptop is under warranty and has been returned, but the ASP who provide support for Tosh laptops have run a soak test and cannot recreate the error.

I have tried the latest drivers from Tosh support site & Intel site, tried switching off hardware acceleration (as suggested by the micorosft site) and even tried intalling Vista Ultimate, but I keep getting the same error.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions?

Hello

I presume the service has tested your notebook with ?factory settings?. Usually they built in own HDD and install recovery image and make a test.
If you google a little bit around you will find a lot different forums and tons of postings where people write about the same issue. Have you already read some of them?

I know it is radical solution but maybe you should back up all your data, install OS using recovery media and the problem should be solved. You have already tried Toshiba and Intel driver.

I've not had a problem with system Update 4 until today.  I went out to check for any updates and there was only one (Optional) listed so I went ahead and tried to install it. It is Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver for Windows 64bit.  The installed version is 9.5.7.1002 and the version trying to be installed is 9.6.0.1014.  The progress bar indicated it downloaded and tried to install, but ended with the error, "1 Package did not install."  Not a lot of help in that statement!?! Has anyone had a problem like this before?  Any idea how to "fix" it so I can install this update? I even tried once with MS Security Essentials, Windows Firewall and UAC turned off with no difference. System details are in my sig, below. Thanks for any help,

Answer:T410 System Update 4 - Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver "Package did not install" Error

The installer in the package is missing or is bad. If you really want to install it then you'll have to download it manually from Lenovo site, expand it, then install the driver via Control Panel -> Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller -> Intel blahblah -> update driver. Nap.

I have a problem with this driver that will not install. Tried over four times over the last several hours. Receiving an error. I'm stuck on this update since it won't install. Please can anyone tell me what is going on with this update. I still have more to do but, I read you're suppose to update in order which I am doing from the web page I am on.

Hi all, need some help please before I revert to using Acers eRecovery option.

I have a Acer Aspire 5738Z with the below spec:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft® Windows Vista? Home Premium, Service Pack 2, 32 bit
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 2999 Mb
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family, 0 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 295242 MB, Free - 5092 MB;
Motherboard: Acer, JV50
Antivirus: Prevx 3.0, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled

I am not 100% but I think(?) that http://www.prevx.com/ may have found some false positives and deleted them (I have used Prevx for years and have always trusted it hence the willingness to jsut delete anything it found. I have already tried to undo the cleanup etc but to no avail.

The problem I have is that under Device Manager the Display Adapter is showing a yellow exclamation mark against the two entries for "Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family". With an error 39 (Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing). When I try to change the display settings (as the resolution has changed for the worst) I cannot change the resolution. Display Settings> Advanced Settings>Adapter Type>Properties shows VGASAVE. (Images attached)

I suspect PrevX may have removed a file needed by the drivers... Read more
