Kaspersky Lab releases technical preview of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7

Question: Kaspersky Lab releases technical preview of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7

Source - Windows 7 Kaspersky Lab releases technical preview of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7 Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management systems, announces the release of a technical prototype of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the next release of the Microsoft Windows operating system which will replace Windows Vista and is a step forward in the development of Microsoft operating systems. The new OS will incorporate enhanced reliability, greater efficiency, an improved interface and extended working features both in global and local information networks.
The technical preview is a complex solution for securing computers running under Windows 7. The prototype includes not only an antivirus component but an effective and fully functional firewall and anti-spam filter.
At the heart of the new technical prototype is Kaspersky Lab?s new antivirus engine which is even more effective at detecting malicious programs than its predecessor. The new engine dramatically increases system scanning speed thanks to improved processing of objects and optimized use of system resources, particularly on dual- and quad-core processor platforms. The unique product architecture ensures high productivity and one of the lowest uses of system resources in the industry.
The technical preview includes a highly effective heuristic analyzer. The heuristic analyzer detects and blocks as yet unknown malicious programs. If a program signature is not included in the antivirus databases, i.e., the malicious program is unknown, the heuristic analyzer will safely launch the program in an isolated virtual environment, analyze the program?s actions and conclude with a high degree of probability whether it is potentially harmful before it is launched in a live environment.
In addition, the technical prototype includes a new user interface developed to meet the needs of both inexperienced and advanced users.

Preferred Solution: Kaspersky Lab releases technical preview of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

Firstly thank you for your help - I really do appreciate it.

My HpCompaq laptop is infected with a virus that is blocking multiple anti-spyware software, Vista updates, and even my Kaspersky anti-virus.

1) The virus does not allow me to access websites to download anti-spyware nor access the windows update site.

2) I have downloaded the following programs on another computer, burned on CD and run on my laptop:
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Installed but does not run
- Spybot - Cannot install as access to the website is blocked during installation
- AVG Anti-Virus trial version - Cannot install due to 0x8007013d - Action failed for file avgmfx86.sys

3) I have managed to run CCleaner and clear out all the temp internet files

So far, there are three ?official? anti-virus partners for the Windows 7 beta ? AVG, Symantec (with Norton 360 3.0 beta) and Kaspersky Lab, with the latter announcing the release of its Windows 7 solution as a ?technical prototype?.

Announcing a ?new antivirus engine? in ?technical prototype? form, Kaspersky Lab has made its Windows 7 antivirus solution available for free download to Windows 7 beta users.

Promising ?complex antivirus protection from all types of Internet threats?, as antivirus and security companies are wont to do, the release underscores Kaspersky?s desire to be seen as a fast security mover in an ever changing threat landscape.

Alexey Kalgin, Director Product Marketing, Corporate Business Division, Kaspersky Labs said:
?We knew the release of the new version of Windows would be a huge event for the IT community, which is why we were prepared for it.

Hi everyone,

Just an fyi regarding yesterday's Microsoft KB2823324 update. For those of you running Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations / Server version 6.0.4.1424 and 6.0.4.1611 you will find if you have installed the updated that you either get the message you have a corrupt database or an invalid license. This will cause Kaspersky to stop working.

For more information follow this link: Update KB2823324 - Kaspersky Lab Forum

Thanks,

Sean

Answer:Kaspersky anti-virus and latest windows update

Also will throw a Blue Screen at you or prompt you with a check disk every time you reboot/cold start. Just uninstall update, reboot and you should be good go. Since the backlash from it, I believe Microsoft has pulled the update.

Thanks for the heads up BSeanD.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Kasp...Working-on-Windows-10-Build-9879-465961.shtml

Kaspersky Anti-Virus continues to be one of the leading solutions on the market, and it's no surprise that some people are trying to install it on Windows 10 as well, despite the fact that it's recommended to use the Technical Preview OS only for testing purposes.

Unfortunately for those who have already updated to the latest testing build 9879, Kaspersky Anti-Virus no longer works on Windows 10 due to what seem to be compatibility issues with the operating system.

Whenever you attempt to install the app on a computer running the latest version of Windows 10 TP, you are provided with an error telling you that this program has compatibility issues and you're recommended to get help online on how to get it up and working.
How to make it work
Surprisingly, a very simple trick allows you to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 on a Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9879 computer without too much effort.

It appears that Microsoft is blocking the installation of the app due to the aforementioned compatibility issues by preventing users from running the executable file called ?kav15.0.1.415en_6868.exe.?

Since this is the first restriction that currently exists in this particular testing build of Windows 10, the best and easiest way to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 on your computer is to simply rename the executable file to anything you want, say ?kasperskyantivirus.exe,?... Read more

my mum is changing from CA to KASPERSKY for price and hopefully a faster computer. are there any tricks to deleting CA correctly and also is there likely to be much speed increase ,as when i went from mcafee to kaspersky the extra speed was fantastic. shes also changing from tiscali broadband modem to O2 broadband ,is this likely to be an improvement as tiscali seems to be very slow sometimes.many thanks

Answer:CA to KASPERSKY anti virus

I changed from Norton 360 to Kaspersky Internet Security about 8 months ago (running under XP), and to be honest I was disappointed at how little speed gain I achieved.I suggest you recommend that your mum changes to free security software, such as AVG Free antivirus (click here) and Zone Alarm firewall (click here). They're both quite light on computer resources, and trusted by many people on this forum. There's nothing wrong with changing from Tiscali to O2, but don't get your mum's hopes up too high for any dramatic improvement in speed. There are many factors that dictate the speed of a broadband connection, and by no means all of them are under the ISP's control. For example, the distance from your mum's house to the telephone excahnge is probably the single most important factor.

Anybody tried this???

Is unstable and launches "Previous application launch failed" errors frequently, yet the program still runs.

I don't want any security software that is either free, cause I don't trust such software, or trial-ware.

Which paid for AVs work on 7? I got licenses for Norton IS 2009 & Kaspersky IS 2009...

Oh, and AVG free is causing trouble after it was uninstalled...AVG was somehow corrupted so I uninstalled it. Yet traces of it remain in the registry.

Answer:Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Win 7

Avast works pretty good. Just because it's free doesn't really mean it's untrustworthy. Others have reported Kaspersky not working right too.

However, they also do a complete 'Internet Security' suite, which inc protection from spyware, spam etc. Does anyone have any thoughts on this please, or even have it installed. Comparisons to other effective, individual solutions would be welcome. Thanks for any help offered

I just use AVG (free)Zone Alarm firewall free.Windows defender.Never had any problems since using those.Don't know kasperski I'm afraid.Having used Norton in the past, although it worked, it took up too much use of computer, and slowed thing down.

Currently I have been at my mate?s house vigorously tearing through his computer and adding programs to deal with different situations. (Currently I have installed SpyBot search and destroy, Windows Washer and Zone Alarm firewall.) When it came to anti virus my mate refused me to touch it. He stuck with his uncle's decision of Kaspersky anti virus, which I have never heard of. This and the fact that his computer is riddled with problems that is most likely caused by Virus? makes me suspicious. Is it reliable and trustworthy? Does it have anything on AVG. Quite frankly I don't think it's doing its job and should be replaced immediately with AVG free.Best Regards                   Jamez.

Answer:Kaspersky Anti virus

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Not a good idea to have more than one Anti-Virus program installed and/or running. While this may seem like greater protection, it can actually cause problems including slowdowns, system hangs and even crashes. Choose one to keep and uninstall the other.

Any antivirus program must be removed via add/remove program.
For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:
re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstall

Then, if you still have issues, we want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link given below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and

Hello Y'all

I am having issues with my Mother's PC. She installed a Kaspersky trial (she thought she was installing the full version) and at the end of the trial it would not let her upgrade it (kept having errors). So the decision was made to uninstall the Kaspersky. And that was the beginning of my headache.

I uninstalled through Control Panel and then went through BC and used the Revo Uninstaller Pro to get anything left after I was still getting messages that the AV was still on the PC. I thought that it had gotten everything until today when my Mom tried to turn on Windows Defender and it brought up a pop up that says "Security Center can't turn on Windows Defender. Please try again later."
So I thought that if she couldn't use Win Defender that I would put a different AV on her PC. I tried to install "AVG Anti Virus FREE" so she would have something on her computer and it said that Kaspersky was still on the computer. I did a search of the PC through Windows Explorer and it did not turn up anything.

Can someone please help me to get this dad-gum program off of my Mom's computer and get Windows Defender working again? Maybe recommend a good free AV that she can use until something like ESET goes on sale?

Her computer is an HP Pavilion dv6000 running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 if that makes any differences.

Thank you so much,

Leilia

OK here's the problem. I was playing CNC Renegade when the game crashed. When i tried to quit the game, it won't let me into my desktop screen and my pc freezed ( this happens quite a lot of times before because of some settings i changed in the game). I switched off my cpu and then restarted but when i try to run Kaspersky, it says "Kaspersky has been started by another user" , but there's no icon in the system tray. I attempted to shut it (kav.exe and kavsc.exe) with the task manager but it says "access denied" . Now i cant even uninstall the application cause it says "Please make sure you have exited Kaspersky before uninstalling" and its not in my system tray. So theres like no way i can exit, open, or uninstall kaspersky. Thx in advance.

Hi
I just finished a free trial with Kaspersky personal edition AV 5 and liked it a lot.
I'm now trying BitDefender 9 standard. Seems good.

Anyone have any opinions on which of these is better?

I used to use Norton but it's a gawdawfull system hog. Then I dl'd a trial of PC-Cillin internet Security 2006 but found it clunky and didn't like it.

Answer:Kaspersky vs BitDefender ...Better Anti-Virus?

Bit Defender seems to always be on top of the leader boards and bench marks. How do youl like it? Does it use alot of system resources? How does it compare to the others? I have been thinking about switching from AVG to NOD32 or Bit Defender.

I have used Kaspersky anti virus personal version 5 for a year and have been satisfied with it.
Last week I upgraded to version 6 when I renewed. Version 6 will cause my IE pages to hang. For example, if I open a new session of IE it will never get to my start yahoo page. Other web pages will not open either. If I exit (shut down) Kaspersky, my web pages will then open, but that defeats the purpose of having an anti virus.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what settings I could change (either on IE or Kaspersky ) so that it will accept IE web pages? Has anyone else had this problem with Kaspersky anti virus version 6?

The installation was done on a Toshiba laptop about a year old.

Thanks for any suggestions.

AOL and Kaspersky have got together and re-leased a 'FREE' version of Kaspersky...(No you dont need to be an AOL customer)
This is basically Kaspersky slimmed down and re-skinned but offers the same excellent detection engine as Kaspersky
Protects against Viruses, Worms, Trojans, Spyware, Adware, Jokes, Hacktools etc

This has to beat AVG as the 'Best Free Anti-Virus Program' Available
to get license key you have to register with email address, I may suggest using a 2nd free email address as the EULA specifys that you may get SPAM from AOL and other companys so using a 2nd email address (just for these sort of pruposes) will avoid your usual email address from being bombarded with SPAM

Kaspersky is one of the best detection engines on the market and has won awards for its detection rate, namely the 'VB 100%' Award which means it can detect 100% of the Viruses in the Viruslist.com

I just got Kaspersky pro installed on my Windows XP Pro machine and right away it found the Lovescan worm. I knew i had a worm because the other night i turned off my firewall for just a few minutes and i got this RPC failure popup that shut down my machine after 60 seconds. I had to do a Ctrl Alt Delete and shut down the file in processes before Kaspkersky was able to delete it.

Anyways my main question here really has nothing to do with that. Kaspersky is reported corrupted files. I just did a scan a few minutes ago and it found 4. One of them was the new AIM Messenger install file that was located on my desktop. I believe i remember reading a while back that Kaspersky finds several corrupted files but they aren't really corrupted or something. So are these files really corrupted or is Kaspersky just confused? What do i need to worry about Kaspersky finding, just Virus's and ignore the rest?

Answer:Kaspersky Anti-Virus Users

It had 6 listed earlier but i just ran virus scan and it shows 4. These are the files that are showing up as "corrupted" in kasperky.

C:\Documents and Settings\burningrave101\Desktop\AIM Messenger 5.5.3583.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\burningrave101\Desktop\AIM Messenger 5.5.3583.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\burningrave101\Local Settings\Temp\GLB29.tmp
C:\Program Files\Gigabyte\ITE Raid Driver Setup\WIN2K_XP\iteraid.sys

I renamed the AIM messenger file from Install_AIM.exe to that back before i ever even run Kaspersky. I dont guess that has anything to do with it though.

And i found this information on Kaspersky "corrupted" files.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus has found a corrupted file, what does this mean?

A corrupted file is a file which contains different information than Kaspersky Anti-Virus is expecting. A corrupted file does not point to a viruscontamination.Click to expand...

I ve been using Kaspersky Anti Virus and am happy with it. My subscription ran out a couple of days ago and I bought the 2013 version (had been using 2012). I downloaded it but cannot find where I need to put in the Activation Code. There is a place on the bottom right right which says "insert activation code" and I click on it and nothing happens. So, now what do I do - all the info I see online does nothing. I am using XP Professional on a Dell laptop and also a desktop (I can use the code on 3 machines). TIA. I've heard several people here say that Kaspersky is decent anti-virus and I've been interested in trying it. My dad recently got a deal on a 3 user bundle from frys and I'm the one testing it out.

Do you guys have any advice on configuring this? I'm not sure if I've configured it right, but I haven't been too happy with it. It really slowed my computer's bootup time till I disabled Application Integrity Control. That feature also complained about the software for my logitech mouse and keyboard. I'm wondering if those were false positives.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this? It doesn't seem like it's that bad once I disabled that feature. Maybe I'm just venting a little about some of issues it caused me after install. I think I might test out bitdefender or avast on my other computer, just to look at some alternatives.

Answer:Any advice on Kaspersky Anti-virus?

I'll mention that I think Kaspersky is one of the top 2x antivirus products out there...along with Esets NOD32.

I'm more familiar with NOD32 as I've been a reseller of it for quite some time.

You'll find Avast substantially heavier than Kaspersky, and not as strong in detection. BitDefender is almost as good in detection..but a bit heavier.

Are all prior antivirus products fully uninstalled? If you had a Symantec/Norton product...after uninstalling it, did you use the SymNRT tool?

Not only did my internet slow down, but my system ran at 50% speed (and, like you, it got worse after 20 mins). It seems to have been a compatability problem. After spending two days trying to solve this, I ended up removing the e.scan security suite - disappointing, since I liked it - and reverted back to my original anti-virus (AVG). The only good thing that came out of this was that e.scan couldn't find anything that AVG had missed. My problem might not be the same as yours, but my suggestion is that you look for anything that might be in conflict with your Kaspersky (and/or e-mail them at their support, if you think that'll help, with a list of your other protections). It's time someone came up with a freeware utility entitled "ConflictResolver".Good luck.

I just installed the Kaspersky Anti Virus software and I have a couple of questions about the settings. According to the Kaspersky FAQ's the definitions are supposed to update every hour. I installed the AV software yesterday at this time and when I installed it I ran a manual Definition update to make sure I have the most recent Definitions. When I checked the computer today I noticed the program had not updated the Definitions which concerns me.

When I was looking around in the settings I notice that there is a setting that allows me to define when the program reaches out and checks for updated Definitions but according to Kaspersky it is supposed to do this on its own. I can set the program to check for updates to the definitions once a day but I don't want to cause a conflict within the Kaspersky software that will leave me without anti virus software. Has anyone else encountered this with the Kaspersky AV software?

Also, I see there are options to set automatic virus cans for both the Full scan and the Critical scan. Does Kaspersky default to an automatic scan or will I have to set up scans on my own?

Thanks all.

Anyone got any ideas?

The only thing I can add is that when I once downloaded a trial version it was kind enough to download 2 Trojans along with it. Normally I would suggest that you probably have a virus, but well..... Hope you get a tech soon and they can help. Good Luck

Answer:Kaspersky Anti-Virus won't uninstall?

Removing this Program throughout Hijackthis wont remove registry entries. You will be better off if you reinstall the program, then uninstall.

Else, this are the entries in HIjackthis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KAV50] "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro 5\kav.exe" -run -n PersonalPro -v 5.0.0.0 -chkss

Was AVG previously installed?http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/home/208280142/Otherwise I can only guess what the problem might be--I don't use Kaspersky anymore and you haven't given much detail of what happens when you try to install. Tell us what you have done or tried to do and for more ideas--you might even figure out a solution yourself--try their support portal:http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/Also the people at the support forum might know better what is going on--if anything they tell you is unclear you can ask here:http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showforum=3

i recently when back to windows 7 because i didn't like windows 10. Every thing went well except that kaspersky doesn't run. i tried every thing but i doesn't seem to work

Answer:kaspersky anti virus doesn't run

Hi:

Upgrading (or downgrading) the Windows OS (and even using "System Restore) often breaks security programs.
In order to run best on Win 10, it is advised to upgrade to KAV2016/KIS2016, as explained HERE

But, since you have rolled back to Win7....

AFAIK, it may be normal for Windows UAC to prompt when first running the program after an OS install.

Have you tried to perform a clean reinstall of KAV2015?

Basic steps:
Make sure you have your valid activation code handy, just in case
Download and save -- but do not run yet -- a fresh copy of KAV2015 from HERE, as explained HERE
Uninstall KAV from the Windows control panel, keeping ONLY license info (or nothing)
Reboot
((Should NOT be necessary, but might be a good idea: download and run the Kavremover tool, then reboot))
Run the KAV installer, activate it, update it, configure it and reboot again
More details HERE
Let us know how it goes,

Hi all, I am currently using Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009, version 8.0.0.454.

I gotten some problems and questions, hopefully I will get my answers and doubts cleared from you guys, whether you are using this software now or before.

First thing first is that, when I start to scan my computer, it shows that I have been affected with some spyware and 2 trojans. When I go into the 'Detected' section, under the 'Disnfected', it shows the spywares, while the 'Quarantine' part, it shows the 2 trojans.

1. Are these virus and spyware remove already? If not how do I remove them?
2. When there are presence of virus(s), am I able to select the type of actions? Like deleting them? Cause In the settings, I cannot find such actions done.
They only have 2 kinds of actions : Select an action automatically or Do not prompt : Disinfect, delete if cannot be disinfected

3. So which is good?

Thanks and really need advices

Anyone know why Kaspersky Anti-Virus sees the lastest version of Creative Labs' OpenAL (oalinst.exe) as malware/riskware?

I had on old copy of openal and it was detected as malware/riskware, so I re-downloaded it from Creative Labs' website here: Home - OpenAL, and it too gives the same warning under Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.

I use 3DMark06 under vista64 and it requires the latest version of OpenAL to run.

Anyone else seen this? Is it cause for concern?

Thanks

Answer:OpenAL + Kaspersky Anti-Virus = riskware

Its doubtful openal would have anything. Add it to your excempts.

HI,
I try to keep everything off my desktop that my husband--who can't stop clicking on stuff he doesn't understand without asking me--can get into trouble with. Somehow, he turned off our virus protection, or the pop up did, and downloaded a virus protection program trial called Kaspersky. I don't need it, it has messed up my Macafee & when I try to repair it, Kaspersky comes up as the reason it won't repair. Also, it sits on my Add-remove list like something that won't flush..... I try to remove it and it makes my computer freeze slightly, just enough that I have to remove it via Windows Task Manager & there it stays.
Also, whatever he did also makes all the changes I make to try and remove taskbar icons not work, everything stays the way it was after I reboot.
Trouble is, I run my business from this thing & he has messed it up. Can you all help me?
Thanks, Arbriel

Answer:Kaspersky Anti-virus 6.0 Trial Off My Computer

In a situation like this, the first thing I would try is system restore. I would select a date and time just prior to the installation of the trial software. Any program updates or other new programs installed since then would have to be redone. Documents would be unchanged.

Hope this helps,

I installed KAV v5.0 and it works perfectly...found a bunch of viruses and cleaned them.. (actually heres the deal first time i installed KAV i updated my virus definitions right off the bat then restarted my PC..KAV worked fine, but when I DLed KAV again I restarted first then tried updating my v-def.s but it wouldnt find the network so the problem occurs right after KAV is installed and the PC adjusts to the software)

KAV somehow disables my internet and doesnt allow me to connect to my wireless network, after running the Antivirus and restarting I cant get online and "wlancfg" process under the task manager doesnt respond when I try to shutdown or restart

So i did a system restore til when I didnt have KAV and got online fine, re-dled KAV to try it again and had the same problem so I dunno how to get around KAV messing up my network

Hello, I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 and my scan is set to Disinfect, delete if cannot be disinfected. However I have a long list of detected threats that are labeled as "Highly Dangerous" and "Very Dangerous". I'm not sure why these are still allowed to remain active and when I've tried to quarantine them, I'm just getting a window to open a folder. I tried to go to Program Files and find a quarantine folder in the Kaspersky program but there was none. I have NO idea where to quarantine these threats to, and I'm worried that they're still harming my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've never seen something like this in an antivirus program!

Answer:Help with Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 quarantine

Hello

These are not trojans/virus, Kaspersky is informing you that these files/programs/applications are out of date and patches need to be applied.

When you open the protection window you are given a list of vulnerabilities, right click on any one of them and select go to description, you need to apply the correct remedy for those warnings to stop.

You can also use Secunia PSI since Kaspersky use their database.

I appear to have been infected by a malware that has disabled my anti-virus program. I have noticed the infection in my email programs as my machine keeps trying to send emails on its own using an email address that is one of mine but not used by me. Now my Kaspersky anti-virus program is corrupted. The black list is corrupted; the update process will not function and the rollbacks to previous databases are corrupted. I followed the directions with the only deviation being that i had to use a different rootkit scan program (AVAST) because your link to GMER would not run in Win7 64bit. In any event, AVAST found no rootkit issues and i attached the log nonetheless.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 15.0.1.415 - released

page download:http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/products/english/homeuser/kav2015/kav15.0.1.415en_6834.exe

About:
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 FINAL (v15.0.1.415)
"Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 is the latest edition of Kaspersky's solid and reliable antivirus engine.

The package provides strong real-time protection against malicious files, email attachments, web scripts, instant messaging content, and more. Icons in your search engine results warn of dangerous sites, a vulnerability scanner highlights security holes, and there's capable anti-phishing protection thrown in.

This build adds a whole layer of extra protection from Cryptolocker-type malware. Kaspersky's System Watcher now looks out for suspect programs trying to modify user files, and immediately backs up the originals. If the suite finds the changes were malicious then not only will the malware be removed, but you'll get your original documents back, too.

There are limitations with this scheme. In particular, backups are deleted when Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015 is closed, so if the threat isn't detected in the current session then you may lose some files. Still, it's a welcome step forward.

Elsewhere, there are the usual general improvements across the board: Kaspersky says Anti-Virus 2015 is faster, more lightweight and responsive than before.

All this is presented in a simplified, subdued interface. Plain buttons highlight four ma... Read more

Answer:Can Kaspersky System Checker Be Used As The Only Anti Virus?

It's a stand alone scanner - just like Malwarebytes Free is a stand alone scanner. They are not real-time AV programs. That Kaspersky System Checker doesn't even actually install. So yes you can use it but you still need Avast in real-time installed protection mode.

I noticed that you have two posts on the same subject! That is considered bad form/protocol on this forum. If anyone had an answer, it would have been given on your first post. Unless I'm wrong, most of the members of this site use either Avast, AVG, or AntiVir, and I could be wrong! Did you try to delete Kaspersky by going to the Control Panel and using Add/Remove Programs? I just visited their web site, and I didn't see a removal tool/application. Did you check the Kaspersky folder for an uninstall/removal file?

I have just recently upgraded to the Kaspersky 2009 Build and was very happy before with the version before this one and now am encountering issues with this one that are false positives. We have the app on 3 of our computers and I am becoming very frustrated with a program that served its purpose well in the last version.
So I was wondering if there are any users out there who have had or still have issues. I just purchased the program this past spring and everything went well until this new Build.
I see that there are posts in their Forum however since I am not a techie I wondered if there is such a thing as rolling back to the version before this which was not problematic and which they claim is this same Build?
Also the prior version was in Real Time .,..at least that is what I thought and now this A/V does not appear to be and it also seems to have added 'Malware' to its protection and I already use Prevx2. which complemented the Kaspersky prior version.
I really would appreciate all experienced members comments on this matter as with my work I don't have time to keep sending in 'False Positives' which disable a program from useage b/c after the scan the application does not work.
Thanking you in advance and have a nice day.

Thousands of computers running Microsoft's Windows XP operating system were unable to connect to the internet after installing an anti-virus update.

Users said they were also unable to access their internal company networks.

Russian IT security company Kaspersky Labs told users to disable its anti-virus software or roll back the update.

Two hours later it issued a fix - but since their PCs were unable to auto-install new code from the net, users had to perform several tasks first.

Kaspersky told its customers: "Please disable the web AV component of your protection policy for your managed computers

Hello:

I just downloaded and installed the Kaspersky Anti-Virus program today...and didnt like it.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/ > "Kaspersky Anti-Virus Weekly Update 12/31/04 [ 57 Kb | Freeware | Win All]
The latest virus definitions for Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal and Lite. "

I tried to uninstall it but, it had no uninstall program.

When i tried to remove the Folder...it would not delete.

When i tried to use SHREDDER.EXE to shred it ...it would not shred.

I then went into safe-mode and removed the folders...and went to msconfig > Start and de-checked the boxes to prevent the program from starting again on re-boot!.

When i re-booted again without safe-mode...sure enough i had finally removed 'Kaspersky Anti-Virus'...or so i thought.

It was no longer in my 'C' drive...but, now several changes had taken place???.

My search tool for 'Files & Folders' in the start bar no longer works???...neither does my 'Windows Update'???...and when i right-click a folder... 'Kaspersky Anti-Virus'...tries to constantly re-install itself???.

When i right-click anything it tries to re-install itself???. I can no-longer right-click anything and get the normal regular pop-up with options to create new folder or whatever!.

HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS G.DMN program???off of my Hard-Drive!...can someone help me out please!.

Hands-On Malware Blocking
Those independent labs can devote far more resources to testing than I can, but I still like to do some hands-on testing, exposing each antivirus product to a collection of various malware samples. Kaspersky and Bitdefender are the first products I've tested since converting all of my virtual machines to Windows 8.1 and swapping in a new collection of samples.

As soon as I opened the folder containing my samples, Kaspersky got to work, quickly wiping out 69 percent of them. I proceeded to launch those that survived this massacre, noting just how Kaspersky handled them. In all, it detected 83 percent of the samples. Its overall score of 7.9 points reflects the fact that a few of the samples managed to place executable files on the test system despite being detected by the antivirus.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus (2015) Malware Blocking Chart

Bitdefender did a little better than Kaspersky, with 86 percent detection and an overall score of 8.4. You can see that some products tested with my previous collection managed higher scores. However, there's a possibility that those tested most recently gained an advantage due to the increasing age of the older samples. And when the independent labs put a product at the top, I give less weight to my own hands-on tests.

Malicious URL Blocking
As noted, my fixed set of samples may become easier to detect over time. Not so the feed of malicious URLs kindly supplied by MRG-Effitas. These URLs are extremely new, ... Read more

I seem to have a problem that I can't solve.....I've installed Kaspersky anti-virus 2010 on my computer. I have deleted all anti-virus programs. I go to the security center to check if my security is ok. It shows windows defender and kaspersky. I've tried to delete windows defender. I've gone to run and somehow stopped the program but kaspersky shows not on. There is a button that says turn on now. I hit it and I think Kaspersky anti-virus is running. If I somehow can get windows defender off the computer it will allow kaspersy anti-virus to be on and running by it's self. How do I get windows defender to turn off and delete it. I only want kaspersky anti-virus to run. Please help.

I am just relating my experiences thus far with Kaspersky technical support.

To be perfectly honest, it has been nothing but an aggravating, frustrating, unacceptable user experience.

I have had an issue with Trusted Application Mode and Application Control. App Control will randomly move an entire block of 40 or 50 apps from the Trusted to Untrusted zone.

I've reported this issue to Kaspersky multiple times. Each time they will request to reset the settings to default - which I do as requested. Then I re-enable TAM and the same issue occurs. Then they will request a run of a system info tool. If the report indicates an "incompatible" software...case closed.

I removed all "incompatible" software - which could be something as irrelevant as a harmless, non-conflicting registry remnant. In fact, Kaspersky has a CleanUp tool that uses an .ini file to detect conflicting registry entries during installation. On my system it never found anything... and installed without a hitch.

I submitted numerous reports - which as far as I can tell were never reviewed... as I was requested multiple times to generate duplicate reports of the same reports I submitted initially with my tech support request!

There is no continuity of support from one support technician to the next. When a new tech takes over the case I have to start all over again.

I'm now reporting this issue for the 8th time trying to get it resolved. And I would bet it will be a conti... Read more

Answer:Kaspersky Technical Support - Very Poor

I have just read this thread and what you have said sounds appalling. An important feature which should be in every company is good customer support to help the customers with solving issues with the product or to answer any inquiries that they should have to ask.

Kaspersky should start buckling down and improve their customer support if this is the way you have been treated. 8 times you have reported the issue and you still have an unresolved issue? I accept in some cases a issue may not be able to be fixe e.g. due to a configuration on the system (say the user does not wish to fix the configuration).

It sounds like Kaspersky need to address your issue seriously and work on how they are going to fix it. You paid money for the product, right? You then deserve decent customer support, and to have the issue addressed properly and then afterwards fixed through a product update.

How long in have you been using your license? If the product maintains issues and they cannot help you fix it... I guess you could always ask for them to revoke your license and to have your money back (assuming the license is new, as in a month or two). This is usually why I recommend people to use a trial of the product before purchasing it, say on case of bugs on their system others do not experience which are not yet fixed (or in case of bad customer support to get them fixed, like in this case which you have described in the thread). However, I doubt they would be willing to revoke your license an... Read more
