Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

Question: Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

Hi there,
I am using two different bluetooth headsets to connect to my computer. They
pair and connect just fine and even work with Skype. The problem is Vista
(business) disconnects the headset about every 30-60 seconds. Does anyone
have any ideas of how to keep the connection stable?
thanks!

Preferred Solution: Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

Are you using vendor's bluetooth drivers? If so, remove it, reboot and let your system install the Microsoft bluetooth stack. You may have to uninstall your hardware manually too (from device manager)

I can't use my bluetooth headphone and wired earpiece simultaneously. whenever I connect my bluetooth headphone to my laptop, the wired earpiece stops working.I'm having Dell XPS L501X with Realtek High Definition Audio. Is there any way to make them work simultaneously?

Answer:Can't use bluetooth headphone with earpiece!!

I don't think there is because usually when you plug in a headset or turn on a bluetooth headset it disables the speakers, so I suspect that bluetooth essentially does the same to your wired headset - probably nothing that can be done about it unless you happen to find a setting in the realtek control panel that disables the 'feature'."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." I have a Dell Latitude E6410 that finds and apparently "connects" to my Rocketfish RF-MAB2 bluetooth headphones. However, the headphones never show up as a device in the sound/volume settings, so the computer plays sound from the speakers rather than the headphones. Any help will be much appreciated.

Answer:Bluetooth Headphone Pairing

I have experienced the same behavior using a rocketfish RF-MAB2 and Dell E6410 running windows 7 64 and 32 bit. Were you able to resolve the issue?

Hi Guys,

I am trying to buy a new "sports headphone" to be used at the gym. Unfortunately, where I am, I only either have bluetooth 2.0 + NFC or Bluetooth 4.0 (only 1 or 2 options) without NFC.

I am really keen on NFC, as I have a S4 and really keen to try NFC, would really appreciate any feedback on this? Is BT2.0 with NFC a better option in terms of easy of use or a simple BT3.0 or BT4.0 without NFC be a safer bet?

I am not too sure how stable the NFC technology now is, so thats my only concern.

Would appreciate some feedback on this.

Thanks

Answer:NFC or bluetooth sports headphone?

Since NFC only works up to a few inches, it must be used just for the setup. The Bluetooth would then be used as the link between the headphones and phone.

I have an asus t100ta transformer with win 8.1 bog standard, all updates current, no device manager errors, using windows firewall. I have tried changing the registry fix (6.3 to 6.2). Bluetooth Support Service set to automatic. I have also tried updating the drivers, but it says current drivers are okay; Bluetooth radio driver is Microsoft version 6.3.9600.17093 (21/6/2006). no 3rd party AV.

The other device is a nokia Lumia 520 on windows 8. All updates applied.

Items don't connect automatically, but when I click on the connect option on the phone, it connects for 3 seconds then disconnects.

Now one would think using two Windows 8 devices it would be simple. Any ideas?

I own a macbook pro and runs windows 7 by bootcamp. The headphone is JBL e40bt.
I tried to use my bluetooth headphone it had always failed and it said there was no driver for "bluetooth peripheral device."
I then downloaded the ASUS driver thing from here: Can't find drivers for bluetooth headset - Windows 7 Help Forums
And the problem was solved.

But now when I connect my headphone, it is only good immediately after I connect it. As long as I play something continuously the headphone won't switch off by itself and nothing's wrong. But if there's no audio input from the computer to the headphone for like a minute and then I start playing music, the audio is skipped. I have to reconnect the device for it to return normal.

Please help me. It is quite annoying. It's okay if I am playing games and stuff but I when I'm playing music I can't let it stop.

I have a Insignia bluetooth wireless headphones that I want to use to listen to my Viso VO37L flat screen TV. So I put a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard in my spare computer and connected the TV headphone jack to the input line of the soundcard. I can now have the TV audio playing through the computers speakers. The problem is that no matter what I try I can't get the signal to the headphones. I have WIDCOMM bluetooth 5.1.0.3900 software installed on the computer and it works fine ,I can hear all Window XP sounds as well as the media player and other software audio. I tried using a few recording software programs thinking I could use the monitoring feature to hear the in-line input, but even though I could record the input and hear the replay I couldn't hear the monitor. This whole Idea seemed so simply but not I am thinking that "you can't get there from here". If anyone knows what I am missing I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Hi, I am having problems getting a Bluetooth headset to operate. Having connected and paired (I believe), the device shows in Devices and Printers. In Device Manager, there are three listings for it (Aukey model EP-B4). Each listing says there are no drivers installed. Have tried updating each and all but after an age for Windows searching for drivers I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it.
I have contacted the manufacturer many times but so far no results - they repeatedly requested from where I bought it and item number.
I am using Win7 SP1 with all updates current.

The headset works well with my mobile phone and tablet (Android 5.1).

Any help much apprecitated.

Hello, I got a JBL Everest Elite 700 bluetooth headphone and I would like to pair (connect) it with my HP Pavilion G6. I also have the latest updates installed. 1. Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a deviceNo device can be found! (I am sure the headphone is discoverable and it works perfectly with other laptops and my mobile phone) 2. In "Device Manager", there is no "Bluetooth" icon. 3. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Support Service" is running and is set to Automatic. 4. In Computer Management > Services, "Bluetooth Handsfree Service" is running and is set to Automatic.   This is driving me crazy. I don't know what else to do.

On my Yoga 2 13", I can use Bluetooth and I can use wifi, but I can't use them at the same time. The moment I turn on bluetooth, the wifi drops out and fails to reconnect. If I turn bluetooth off, it comes back. I've tried various combinations of drivers, but here's what I'm running right now:  Intel Bluetooth driver is at 17.0.1401.422Intel Wireless driver is at 17.0.2.5Windows 8.1 x64Home wifi is a Medialink MWN-WAPR150N

Answer:Wifi disconnects as soon as bluetooth turned on

Set your medialink router, aka Tenda router, to use channel 1. There's a lot of interference going on with higher channels since bluetooth operates on a higher 2.45 - 2.5 Ghz frequency. Channel 1 frequency resides at 2.412 Ghz which lessens the chance of interference compared to channel 6 and especially channel 11. This is speaking of experience that my Microsoft comfort bluetooth mouse lose connectivity randomly when I set my router to channel 11. I set it to 1 and it rarely disconnects now.

Hi guys, I have Windows 8.1 and I am using the MS sculpt comfort mouse. The problem is that my bluetooth disconnects from time to time, with seemingly no pattern.

I have already gone to device manager->bluetooth->intel (R) wireless bluetooth (R) 4.0-> properties and unchecked "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power". I also doubt it is a power thing because I would be using my computer and moving the mouse and all of a sudden the bluetooth mouse would disconnect.

I usually get it reconnected by going to the bluetooth device icon in the tray and clicking on "show bluetooth devices" and it would take me to that settings->bluetooth page with Windows 8 graphics. It would show that bluetooth on and even my mouse is connected, and after a while my mouse starts working again. Sometimes I can also fix it by putting my computer to sleep and then re-awaken it.

I also noticed when my mouse disconnects, if I go to device manager, I see that all those entries underneath Bluetooth would disappear, leaving only intel (R) wireless (I think, I don't remember exactly) icon with a yellow exclamation mark on it. If I disable then enable, or putting computer to sleep then reawaken, or go to the settings page to wait for disconnection, the the stuff in device manager then fills up. It seems like my computer is stopping bluetooth service or something.

Can somebody help me with this bluetooth issue? Thank you.

Answer:W8.1, bluetooth mouse disconnects often during usage

I would try uninstalling everything BT in Device manager then reboot and let it re-install. Latest drivers? What exact Intel BT model?

I connect up a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and the mouse works fine but as soon as I hook up a keyboard there is a strange hanging issue.

I will type something on the keyboard and when I go to use the mouse it will take anywhere from 1 to 2 seconds for the mouse to move. The same thing then goes for the keyboard if I go to type something. It will take 1 to 2 seconds for anything to show up on the screen after I go from mouse to keyboard.

A good chunk of the time the keyboard will not work and I have to re-pair it.

Using the latest Bluetooth Vista driver.

Answer:Bluetooth hangs, keyboard disconnects

For whatever reason without the Dell drivers, the Bluetooth will not even show up in Device Manager.

I was able to find a little newer version and will test that out when I get to my office. Also going to try a different BT mouse. I did notice the newer driver pack helped with some standby issues.

I have a new T500 (Vista) and a new T400 (WinXP). I have a Kensington SlimBlade Bluetooth mouse for each PC. It's a great mouse--when it works! And it always works great on my T500 (Vista). But on my T400 (WinXP), it just randomly disconnects many times per day--very annoying! I can sometimes reconnect and work for quite a while. Other times it seems to disconnect about as fast as I can reconnect.I checked my Bluetooth driver versions tonight:T500 (Vista): 6.2.0.9000T400 (WinXP):5.5.0.4300Kensington Support has been great. They have sent me a replacement mouse, but I don't think that is going to solve my problem. I have swapped the mice between the two PC's, and the issue only occurs on the T400 (WinXP). Unfortunately, unlike Kensington, I can't turn to Lenovo for technical support. So I'm hoping some savvy techies on this forum can help me out. Anybody got any ideas that might resolve my Bluetooth disconnect issues?

Answer:Bluetooth mouse disconnects T400

The same thing happened to my WinXP, not on Lenovo, but on an HP TC4400. Both my MS bluetooth keyboard and mouse dropped frequently. I researched for solutions and finally found flaws in early bluetooth drivers. Upgrading to the latest bluetooth drive solved the problem. Just FYI.

Hi.I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved bythis fine community. Thank you!My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back onagain the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using atthe time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go theSound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As ofright now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Hello,

I have Lenovo Miix 2 10 tablet and Creative WP-300 headset. When I listen to music and put the device into Connected Standby it keeps playing nice. But when I pause the playback using controls on the headset, the headphones disconnect and are unable to reconnect automatically. So I have to "wake up" the tablet and manually reconnect the headphones. This make it unusable for listening to music on the way. I also unchecked the option to allow the system to turn off bluetooth to save power.

Please, suggest how to troubleshoot this, some log where I can see bluetooth was turned of although it isn't supposed to. Microsoft technical support left me dead in the water. Thank you.

EDIT: when i pause the playback, the headphones disconnect, then reconnect for like a second and then disconnect again. Everytime I push pause/play button it connects/disconnects, without a chance of working.

Hello,
I just received my Samsung Ativ Odyssey, and the first thing I did is update to Win 8.1 developer preview. Therefore I don't know if this behaviour occurs with the original software too:
- My Bluetooth Headset (Plantronics Marque 2), which works flawlessly on my Lumia 620, keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on the Ativ Odyssey. This causes some apps to silence until I restart them. Unfortunately, my navigation software (Navigon Mobile Navigator) is one of these apps.
- Second, smaller issue: I keep changing the ringtone, but after some hours it always reverts to the default "PM cubes" ringtone.
Any ideas? Thanks!

The sound quality on paired headphones is terrible. There is a background, high pitched whine being transmitted that makes it unbearable to listen.
A wired pair of headphone works fine. The headphones work fine when paired with my Note 4 & Sony TV. A second pair of bluetooth headphones exhibits exactly the same problem, so it is 100% definitely the laptop that is the problem.
Does anybody know how the fix this please?

I didn't know where to put this, or what kind of problem this is.
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones and an ASUS bluetooth USB adapter.
When I turn on the Bluetooth headset, I have to manually go into the Sound settings and change the "Default" to the Asus Adapter.
Though ZId love to know if there is a fix to this, it's easy enough to live with. The thing I cant stand though, is when I do switch any default device in the Sound settings, I also have to close all programs that were open when making the switch. Otherwise, the programs (like iTunes and Media Player Classic) will contiue coming out of the computer speakers, or whatever the previous default was. Ive only had the ASUS Bluetooth adapter, and havent been able to try another adapter, but I have used different bluetooth Headsets/Headphones, and they all react the same. The program also exhibited on Windows 7, so I doubt its OS specific.
Is there any way to fix this, because this is absolutely annoying.

Answer:Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

Did you ever find an answer? I just found this post and I'm having the exact issue. And agreed; very annoying.

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.

I used to be able to listen to music through a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones on my Wins 7 laptop. However, I am no unable to do so. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the bluetooth drivers with no success, removed and added the device. I followed a number of the steps in this thread : Bluetooth headset pairs but won't connect, not avail as playback devic , specifically the post from 11th Dec 2014 . Computer has been restarted multiple times.

I've attached an image of what I see. I can connect the headphones to the laptop, but can't listen to music. I also cannot set the headphones to default playback.

Atm, I'm listening through an aux cable, but any additional trouble shooting steps would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have an issue with the Bluetooth connection of my Lenovo U31-70 notebook. Even I have connected and paired my Bluetooth headphone, the notebook still cannot detect it as a playback device. It just connected as a device categorized as unknown rather than an audio device. What should I do to let my notebook detect my Bluetooth headphone as an audio playback? PS In the photo, BeoH5 is my Bluetooth headphone, but it did not show as a playback device.

I pair my bluetooth speakers with my laptop but the speaker connects and then immediately disconnects so I can't use it. I have tried two sets of speakers, that both work on other computers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled bluetooth from device manager. When I restart the laptop and bluetooth reinstalls, I get an error saying that bluetooth server failed to install. Any ideas what's going on?

Answer:V510 Windows 7 Bluetooth connects and then immediately disconnects

When you uninstall the device driver for your bluetooth, are you checking the box to "Delete the driver software for this device"?    If you do not check that option the old, and possibly corrupt, driver may be used regardless of whether you download and run the driver the installer again. Also run services.msc  and make sure that the Bluetooth Support Service can be started, and if needed, set it to load Automatically.   Cheers,

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Have you tested other BT (bluetooth) devices on the Vostro 1540? What BT device is installed in the Vostro 1540? What operating system are you running? You should check with iball- Chat for support and setup of their product. Assuming you read through its User Manual for troubleshooting steps.

Hello,
I just bought a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and it works fine when connected but it disconnects when my computer is idle. Once disconnected it is not recognized again when I start using my computer again. To get my computer to connect to it again I either have to restart or delete the drivers and reconnect the mouse. Is there a way to change the bluetooth settings so that it doesn't "sleep" after a period of time? I dont know if that is the problem but I cant think of anything else. I'm using the mouse on my desktop outlined in my system specs.

Thanks

Answer:Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Disconnects when Idle

Are you using your on-board bluetooth adapter.

Have you checked the device manager to see if your bluetooth is allowed to be turned off to save power (disable if so)

Do you have the Asus BT Go! Bloatware installed? is so you could try removing it. If you dont perhaps it could help (I dont have on-board bluetooth so don't know)

I am running Win 10 on an ASUS laptop. Both are just a few months old.
I just bought a Designer Bluetooth mouse and installed it.
The mouse stops responding every 20 minutes or so. Sometimes it stops after just one minute after I get it reconnected.
I have confirmed I have the latest drivers, both for my mouse, and for the Bluetooth Generic Attrib Service listed in Device Manager.
I also confirmed for Qualcoomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0 - it did download and install new software, and I did reboot afterward.
I have fresh batteries in the mouse.
Under HID-compliant mouse properties, there IS a checkbox to 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. The checkbox is unchecked and greyed out. (I cannot set or unset it.)
To restart the mouse, I have to use my touchpad to open Action Center, then 'Connect', and it automatically reconnects. Though somtimes it only lasts a minute bore stopping again.
Suggestions?

If you connect any Bluetooth Headset or Devices using Audio + Hands-Free Profile with Windows 10 build 10049 Bluetooth Stack, it uses only Audio and doesn't allow Hands-Free use.
I have tested 2 different devices, Windows registers both profiles, but never allows Hands-Free, so it isn't possible to use cortana, teamspeak or any Voip-Application by now.
With different Bluetooth Stacks, I tested Toshiba's, it works, but other issues occur.
Previously used devices may not connect at all, because they seem to be already registered to Toshibas Stack, but not working at all. Any suggestions or ideas?

X220 tablet (about 2.5 yrs old, out of warranty) was working completely fine last night; this morning, no sound is coming from the laptop, either through speakers or through headphones (audio jack).  I am, however, able to get sound through a bluetooth-connected speaker. I had hoped this was a software issue.  Tried uninstalling/installing all sound devices, updating BIOS, updating drivers, system restore to previous date, rebooting a million times, etc.  No joy. When I run the sound troubleshooter, it says that no speaker, headset, or headphone appears to be plugged in.  The sound icon has a little red circle/white X next to it.  When I try to plug in headphones, nothing happens -- does not seem to detect the event.  When I press the mute and volume buttons on the tablet, no response. Also, under Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers, it lists only "Bluetooth Hands-free Audio" and "Intel Display Audio".  I don't think either of these is the normal X220 audio driver, is it?  What else should be there?  I downloaded the Conexant Audio Software from Lenovo's site (this is what came up when I searched for audio drivers for the X220 tablet), and tried to install it, but halfway through, it said the install failed because it couldn't locate the device for the driver. This sounds like it's a hardware problem -- any way to verify?  Also, which piece of hardware exactly?  Is it the sound card ... Answer:X220 tablet - sound suddenly stopped working from speakers and headphone (but not bluetooth)

If it doesn't appear in the device manager, it sounds to me like the sound chip (codec) or some support chip has died. I'm not sure how exact you want the answer to be. I think on that model, the codec is a Conexant 20672. If I am correct, the normal fix is to replace the motherboard. Many x220 machines are still under warranty. If yours is, now would be a good time to use it. You can check here:http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/default.page?

Help!

So far 3 people in Dell support have worked on this same problem to no avail.

One of them downloaded another Bluetooth driver ( I think this may even be a wrong driver)  and set the Bose speaker as default. It works for a time, but as soon as the computer sleeps or is turned off, the Bluetooth disconnects. I cannot set the speaker to default.

The only way I can get the speaker to work initially, is to remove click on setting and remove the device and re-pair it. But how often do I need to do this?

After pairing the speaker with Bluetooth, everything works correctly. A few hours after I do not use the computer, the Bluetooth somehow disconnects. I check the settings and gone is the set as default checkmark and the sound I hear comes only from the multimedia monitor speaker.

I turn the computer on and the speaker (Bose) says paired with computer. I look in the devices folder and it reads Bose color soundlink - PAIRED. But the sound still comes from the multimedia monitor.

Then I look in the playback devices and the option to set the bose speaker as default is gone. No amount of right clicking changes it.

Then I checked the device manager and the Bose is listed.

Then I check the Bluetooth hands free audio properties and it says disconnected. So I click "connect" and it tries to connect, but it cannot. The only device listed in playback devices is the multimedia monitor.

I've added a couple of screenshots. Pleas... Read more

Hello,

I just purchased a new notebook, and I have a bit of a problem. When I plug headphones into the side headphone jack, the sound quality is downright terrible. Very shortly I noticed that it didn't sound as good/decent as my older notebook.

The speakers seem to sound fine, well you know - as good as laptops can sound.

Right now I have two notebooks side by side:
a friends Samsung Series 3 (NP300E5C), with Windows 8 (upgraded from W7) / Microsoft High Definition audio
my Toshiba L50 Windows 8 / Realteck High Definition

I dont have my older notebook anymore, but I do remember it sounding better. Comparing this Toshiba to the Samsung (both sitting on the desk side-by-side), the Toshiba sounds a little better through the speakers, but there is no comparison with the headphone - The Samsung is pretty decent while the Toshiba makes me cry.

Now granted, I'm not expecting a symphony, but if I cant solve this I'm going to have to sell the Toshiba.

I've tried uninstalling Realtek, but I couldn't get the sound to work.
Re-installing Realtek solved nothing

One thing I noticed, there is no 'headphone' icon in the device manager (Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound / or simply right click the audio icon in the taskbar). Are the headphones not high definition or something?

Hi guys. My wireless connection woes are never far away .

OK, so I have a wireless connection that has been working fine for almost a year.

Yesterday, I restart my computer, and the connection is connecting...disconnecting...connecting...disconnecting...as so on!

This is only when I am actually browsing the Internet. It never disconnects when the connection is idle.

I have tried changing channels, and I don't think it can be interference, because no matter how close to the WAP I am, the connection keeps connecting and disconnecting.

Also, I tried connecting my WAP directly to my laptop and even the LAN connection kept disconnecting and reconnecting in the same manner! I even tried connecting the WAP to another PC and still, the same dis-reconnecting difficulty.

What to do? Is the WAP faulty? I notice on the WAP the RX/TX light is on and the Link light is on, then (when it disconnects) one light goes off, the other stays on, then the other goes on and the first one goes off, and this goes on and on and then they both stay on. After 10 seconds the pattern repeats itself...

What on earth is going on?

By the way, my WAP is connected to a router which is connected to my cable modem. The wired connection to the router works perfectly, but when the WAP is involved this happens (dis-reconnecting) as I said, even when PC/laptop is hard wired into the WAP.

???

Help...please!

It was working fine for a year, and then this?

I appreciate any help in advance (as usual ).... Read more

Answer:Laptop with combined mic/headphone jack, how to connect both mic & headphone ?

I haven't used one that had the port as a combined unit but I would assume you would need a headphone set with mic that has combined wiring, such as sets used for cell phones and such. You can also purchase an adapter that will split the port into 2 ports for mic and headphones.
Hope that gives you an idea

Hello Eight Forums.

My trouble is the audio output through headphones - background is louder than foreground (especially in music - I often cannot hear the vocals at all; movies however are mostly fine, for reasons unknown to me; but generally, the sound is always different in some way).

I only have one pair of headphones to test it with. However these always worked fine with previous machines, and still do work fine with my iPhone 4. Although they are surely not the case, I cannot with confidence say that if it were a loudspeaker instead things wouldn't have been different.

So this is either a software or a hardware issue.

Software

My computer (details at the bottom) came with a SoundBlaster X-Fi MB3 equalizer program and RealTek High Def Audio drivers. I've uninstalled SoundBlaster hoping it would fix the issue (I didn't need an extra program like that anyway) but alas to no avail. Updating the RealTek drivers did no good still.

The only thing I haven't touched is the ghostly NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (can it be the source of my trouble?) - I only first noticed it now when copy/pasting the Belarc data. I'll try and find out about it in the meanwhile.

Hardware

I wonder if it perhaps has something to do with my audio jack (laptop's brand new, but you can never know). I have what appears to be mic, headphone, S/PDIF and line in jacks... Is there a way to use the microphone or the line-in to test the headphones? To see if the headphone out is broken.

Any help appreci... Read more

Answer:Messed up headphone audio; want to check headphone jack

First, the "My System Specs" is where you fill in what you have.

Does the internal speakers on the laptop work? Is the audio OK on the internal speakers?

The SoundBlaster program(s) is a software enhancement to the basic audio chip (ReaklTek). Many PC's now come with some type of enhancement such as the SoundBlaster or in the case of HP PC's its "Beats Audio".

I have Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop having Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. Realtek HD Audio latest driver is installed. But from the last 3 days, when I connect headphone through laptop, following things happen : -
1) Headphone connected popup doesn't show up.
2) Mic of Headphone connected pop shows up.

3) When I play video, sound coming from both headphone & laptop speakers.
4) When I mute sound by muting sound icon in taskbar, sound then comes only from headphone.

What I have tried?
1) Installed new Realtek HD Audio Manager.
2) Installed OS again.
3) Tried to change settings in Realtek Hd Audio Manager. But Nothing changes.

When I input headphone & mic jacks into laptop, & then check Realtek HD Audio Manager. The following image shows this : -

The green in realtek hd audio manager is for headphone & red is for mic. In the image, it is shown that headphone not connected & mic connected. But even headphone not connected shows up, sound coming form headphone.

I want to get sound from only headphone when headphone is connected. Is this a hardware problem ?

Please help....

Answer:Sound coming from both headphone & speaker but headphone is not detect

My Realtek HD Audio Manager has more options than yours.

Also, I notice you only have the microphone in the Recording Section of the Sound Panel. RIGHT click in an empty space in that Panel and then LEFT click Show Disabled and Disconnected devices. The Stereo Mix should be shown and you can enable that and make it the default Recording device.

Where did you get the RealTek driver that you installed? If you are not using the Lenovo supplied sound driver, get that and install it as a first step. I have a Lenovo Laptop and it has Stereo Mix and other functions. I haven't looked at the RealTek HD manager so I'm not sure what all it shows.

Hello all,

My network connection may need some troubleshooting. Here is what I did, tried to install latest drivers (but newer drivers were already installed). Then I did a fresh repair install with the same problem.

What is going on is this: Internet connection (wifi) requires a login through Cisco's client portal, it is a guest account.

Many times the internet connection does not connect and the close button appears with my home wifi connection not displaying. Also the speeds are not as what they should be at times.

Do I have a virus or something or is this a normal problem?

Answer:Toshiba Laptop - Internet disconnects, frequent disconnects

Welcome to the Tenforums @jinzu

I assume this started recently. If not the information below may fix but we should check interference from other networks. So assuming this started recently.

You may want to disable IPv6. This link was provided by @Fafhrd

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...nts-in-windows

If that does not resolve please go to Toshiba's web site and download their driver for your wireless card. Its older. Install. Test. If this provides stability we have to shut off Windows updating drivers.

Hey everybody,

I bought the headsets. They've got a microphone as well.

Now I've got three ports: pink, green and this colorless one.

My regular speakers go in the colorless port, while the headphone microphone goes into the pink one and the headset speakers.

The thing is speakers on the headsets, as well as my regular speakers worked, but the microphone on the headsets didn't, so I tried to fix the problem, and eventually did, that is the microphone works, but the speakers on the headsets don't !

However, by inserting the headphone's speakers into the colorless port (where my regular speakers are put), in that case the headphones work, but why don't they work when I pluck them in the green port? Previously, when the microphone didn't work, the headphone's speakers worked, but after I 'fixed' the microphone problem, the headphone's speakers stopped working.

Please help me, as this is of great importance, and I've been trying to fix this problem for several hours.

Answer:Headphone mic didn't work - now it does, but headphone speakers don't

That colorless port might be for input devices, that does not include headphones. I had the same problem with my audigy 2 zs, had to plug my headset into a speaker port, its really the only way to get them to work, unless you have front panel ports for headphones.

If you purchased complete care from Dell you can call into Dell Alienware Support at 1 (877) 330-9732. If you did not you can possibly take it back to the store you purchased it from to see if they can help you. You can also try removing it yourself. Hi, I just bought a dell 5567 laptop. The problem is that when I try to connect ordinary 3.5mm earphones  to my laptop's headphone port it doesn't go all the way in. Do I need an adapter for this?

Answer:3.5 mm headphone jack won't fit in headphone/mic combo jack.

No it should go in. We have been getting reports of tight jacks. Don't know if it's a quality control issue. Try some different ones and insert more firmly than normally.
If none will go in all the way, but you do hear the audio, I wouldn't be too concerned. If not getting audio (the selection popup does not appear) because it won't go in, then contact tech support or send it back.

Okay, so I have an Asus laptop with Windows 10. I am using an Ultimate Ears Headphone with built in microphone. The problem is that i want to use the headphone part, but all the the laptop registers is the microphone.
How can I change this, as i cannot watch videos without disturbing others.

Answer:Headphone with built in microphone uses as Microphone, not Headphone

That is definitely odd.
Can you right-click on the audio icon in the bottom right-hand side of the taskbar, select Playback Devices, and then disable the speakers, and see if the sound then comes through the headset?

Another thing: Have you plugged in the headset, and then rebooted the computer? Be sure to turn off Fast Startup when trying this.

Hi,Several times a week, my bluetooth mouse will freeze.  I can still use the touchpad or the red dot.  Fix is to Fn+F5 and stop and start the bluetooth radio.  Looking in Lenovo System Update, I can see the Bluetooth driver is a recent install and is version 6.5.1.4500 for Windows 7 [32/64]. Mouse is Targus bluetooth mouse, model: AMB09US Thanks

Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hello, through "Lenovo Update & Drivers" utility i installed ThinkPad update "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" which is bluetooth solution by BROADCOM corp which has much better user interface and detailed settings than implemented Microsoft W7 bluetooth solution named "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". The problem is that after installation of this update on my Windows 7 there is still functional this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". I tried to disable it in "Device Manager" but after several restart of my computer nothing happened and this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" is still active. It seems that this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator" came probably with some Windows actualization. The "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" is installed on my computer successfuly - i can see it in Programs. And "Device Manager" says that this service also works OK. Can anybody help me to get rid off MICROSOFT/Windows7 bluetooth solution ("MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator"), please? Do you know how to COMPLETELY uninstall this?I want use on my computer original LENOVO ThinkPad bluetooth by BROADCOM. Thank you for your notes and help.Xs
