Read emails in Gmail Inbox disappear, but showing in All Mail.

Question: Read emails in Gmail Inbox disappear, but showing in All Mail.

So this just started today (like an hour ago). When I get an email in Gmail it shows in my Inbox. If I open it to read it, and then close it, it still shows in my Inbox, but if I refresh then it disappears. Only unread emails show. If I check All Mail it shows the read emails, and shows the tag "Inbox", so they are still there, but just not visible. If I check them as unread in the All Mail view they show again in Inbox, but again, once read, they disappear. It's happening in both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else having this issue?

Preferred Solution: Read emails in Gmail Inbox disappear, but showing in All Mail.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When I delete an email received in my Win 10 Mail App inbox, the same email is also deleted in my Gmail inbox, automatically. I would like to prevent this. Emails deleted from my Mail App should be left behind in my Gmail inbox. Could I prevent this deletion from happening by changing an IMAP Access setting in my Gmail settings?

I attach two pictures. In the one, you can see how my Win 10 Mail App was configured by Windows when I added my Gmail account. In the other picture, you can see what I consider changing in my IMAP settings at GMail. I have no idea if this will help and whether I should make this change. I am fairly computer-illiterate.

Could somebody advise me please?

Hi, My name is Fran. I've had something strange going on for a while (a month?) and I thought I'd give this a shot to figure out what the problem is. As I said in the Topic title, I have blank Outlook 2003 emails that keep showing up in my Inbox/Sent Mail/Deleted Mail Folders for my hotmail account in Outlook 2003. They all are the same size, but have various times. I contacted Microsoft, and they suggested that I reset my passwordsand security questions for all of my email accounts. I did this, but the problem has continued in my Hotmail account in Outlook 2003. This has made me suspect that I have something on my computer that picked up the new password. I fear that someone or something is hijacking my computer and want to put a stop to it. I read something today about HijackThis and decided to give it a try. I installed the software and ran a scan generating a log file. It then instructed me to use one of the forums for assistance in a list on their website in which you were at the top--so here I am.I attached the log for the scan from Hijackthis (I HAD TWO FILES AND WAS UNSURE WHICH YOU SHOULD GET, SO I UPLOADED BOTH--I RAN TWO SCANS WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER, BUT AM UNSURE IF THESE LOGS ARE FOR EACH OR JUST ONE SCAN). And, when I looked at the scans' logs, it was all Greek to me. Of course, if there is any other info you need, please just let me know. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.B... Read more

I have set up my gmail emails to be displayed along with my POP emails using Windows Live Mail. They do display but in duplicate every time. My POP emails show as single email messages as is normal. Can you tell me what I have done wrong please??? Thanks RRH100

Answer:gmail emails duplicated in Windows Live Mail Inbox.

Try this -
When in the live mail program as you look at the folders under your email account you will see an inbox on top. Under the inbox is a folder named Gmail, this folder expands to show "all mail" which is all emails in your box under one folder. Live mail when showing "unread emails" displays the inbox and the "all mail" folder at the same time. This creates the duplicates shown in the unread messages tab. To fix this click on the gmail folder and right click on the "all mail" folder and select Hide this folder.

I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit OS. I've added my email account into WLM (using IMAP settings). I made several folders and transferred a lot of saved emails into different folders. After finishing, I clicked on the Inbox folder, and received the following error:

There are no items in this view. Some items may be hidden because a view is applied.

I know there were over 25 emails sitting in the Inbox, but now I can't see them. I've tried changing settings in the View drop down menu, but nothing is bring back the emails.

When I access by email via webmail, I can see all the emails that are in my Inbox.

SO what should the settings be to bring back my Inbox emails?

I have got all my emails from my mail-server's Inbox in to the Thunderbird's Inbox and my Mail-server's Inbox is empty now. Probably, I might have CHECKED "use Global Inbox" (store mail in local folders) during selecting the type of server (usually POP for commercial accounts), and type in the name of the incoming server.

I would like to ask you two questions:
1. How should I modify and UNCHECK "Use Global Inbox" in the Thunderbird so that all my mail-server's emails do not imported to Thunderbird?
2. How could I get back my all emails from Thunderbird Inbox to my Mail-server Inbox?

Please kindly help...

Answer:How to prevent importing emails from my mail-server Inbox to Thunderbird Inbox

Dont' think you can get them back on your ISP's mail server. All pop3 based email clients that I have seen have an option to "Leave mail on server" Outlook Express and Eudora both have this feature. I can't believe Mozilla would have forgotten to add that feature.

A long time back, all my emails started going into my allmail box instead of my inbox.
Most of the time, that doesn;t bother me. But there are times, when i lose focus on the allmail.
Then I have to try and remember the shortcut to get back to allmail, or to go the sibebar, where Inbox is on top and below that "important" and so on. But to get to allmail, you have to go down to more, and find AllMail as a submenu in that. It might even be necessary to make the browser page smaller, so you can see the More menu.
So is it possible to either (a) get messages to go into inbox, or to bring Allmail up to the top of the sidebar, where Inbox is located.
The second one would be my first choice, as that's where my most of all my emails are ie in allmail.
But if i can only do the first thing ie get messages to appear in my inbox, is there a way to move all mails in my allmail box to my inbox?

update. Okay, after all these years, i have found out that all mail refers to archived mail.
So if all my mail is going into archived mail, does that mean that at one stage, i chose to have all my mail be archived. Perhaps I hit something invaderntly.
I came upon this, because I had another question about Archived mail. I was wondering if I was looking at mail, in all mail, and ticked a post, and chose to archive it, and then deleted it, was it still in the archive. But as I am in the archive (all mail) I am deleting it from the archive, or am I.

Answer:how do i get all my new emails in gmail to go to my inbox?

all mail refers to archived mailClick to expand...

No, All Mail is exactly what it says. Mail in every location: Inbox, any folders you created, archived emails, trash and spam.
There is a label in front of the subject line telling you where that particular email is located.
When you delete from the archive it moves to trash. You will see it in All Mail with Trash in front of the subject.
You can also see it if you open Trash.

Go to settings: (gear icon) then click on labels. If you cahnge All Mail from Hide to Show it will appear at the top rather than having to click the arrow aside of More.

For some time I face a strange situation in my WLM client. In Inbox folder the old emails dissapear, only emails from last five or ten days remaining availabe.
On the IMAP server the emails are not deleted.
If I delete the email account on WLC and recreate it all mails are syncronized and appear in Inbox. After a while the problem repeat - old emails dissapear, only last few days emails remaining available.
The problem appear only on Inbox folder and only on WLM. Sent folder is OK.
On Thunderbird i don't have any problem, Inbox folder is corectly synchronized.

If anybody have an idea about what could happened in WLM, plese reply!

Answer:Windows Live Mail Inbox Synchronization Problem - old mails disappear

First try to repair the program from the add and remove programs by selecting unintall\change tab and follow the prompts. If that doesn't work then try uninstalling and reinstalling WLM.

I am using Outlook express and Win2000 O/S.

It has been operating fine with same settings.
Suddenly, inbox is no longer showing new emails recievd.(only old emails)
Although, outlook is succefully accessing server and recieving emails... and saying eg.6 messgages recievd.
However in new messages are shown.

To test: I send a message to myself. It send, it recieves.. but no new email in inbox appears.(although it says new message recieved)

If I run a search for the test email by subject, it will find the sent email in sent box, but not in inbox or any of my other folders.

Where are my emails going.??

I re-installed win2000, but no fix.

Please help

Answer:Emails being recieved not showing in inbox

Hi There!

Check your outlook options and see if there's something set there to sent the emails to a different location. something may have been changed and be placing the new emails into a different folder other than your "Inbox".
Good Luck!

Hi, Ok, so I use gmail that is then downloaded into my Thunderbird (wish there were TB techies out there, but they are VERY hard to find). I can't stand the division Gmail makes you go through with your mail & 90% of my mail is never seen b/c it gets divided into those other folders. I thought I solved the problem when I went to settings ----)  Inbox -------) and then I unchecked all the checkboxes for social, promotions, updates, etc. but noooo, the mail is STILL ending up in those folders & I'm losing mail. I don't even know what updates stands for. Can someone explain that one to me? Can someone PLEASE tell me how to solve this problem once & for all. I can't even move the mail into the Inbox. I have tried, & under the move button there's no option for inbox or primary, but I don't want to have to manually move it anyway. I even tried checking them all off & dragging it & that didn't work either. Thanks

The divisions you refer to are called inbox tabs. You can disable them easily. Log into Gmail from a web browser (I recommend the latest version of Chrome or Firefox). I know you've already tried turning them off by going to Settings > Inbox and unchecked them. Did you actually save the changes? If you did, the settings apply instantly. Alternatively, click Settings > Configure inbox and unselect all tabs except primary (inactive) then click Save. Your inbox should instantly reflect the changes. If nothing happens after clicking save, you may be using a script-blocking add-on or extension that's breaking Gmail's functionality.

For the past few days I've been getting lots of infected emails in my inbox. First it started with about 20 or so, but they've grown more numerous day by day. Today it was up to 76. A lot of them show up as Microsoft Windows Update emails that have a virus attached. Actually they're all worms. Also, many are showing up as emails from gibberish email addresses like [email protected]. What is it that can be causing this, and how do I get them from showing up? I've created some rules in Outlook to delete them but they keep showing up. Any ideas? Would my ISP be able to help me out at all? McAffee catches them all, but I don't want them showing up in the first place.

Answer:Lots of infected emails showing up in my inbox. Not sure why, please help!

Not much you can do about it except not open and delete them.
You could set up a filter to automatically delete them based on a key word, depending on your email program.

The problem is, people who have your email addy in their address book have become infected and are the ones that are sending out the mass mailings.

The more people that have your address in their address book, the more chance of you receiving this garbage email.

Google Desktop (try disabling it)
Windows Firewall (turn it off or add trust for outlook so it doesnt block)
router or nat configuration (may need to add rules to allow)

Hello everyone,

lately I've been getting some strange behaviour with outlook 2007 for some
users; outlook suddenly stops showing new emails.

I've tried everything I could remember, checked event viewer, went to message tracking
in exchange 2007 console, all emails were reported as DELIVERED successfully.

The outlook client itself says its connected to exchange server, and all folders are uptodate.
Forced a couple of send/receive no errors whatsoever.

Once i close down outlook, and open it up again, *bang* all the 50+ emails suddenly appear
on the inbox folder as unread (as they should).

I've tried creating a new profile for the user, I've ran scanpst to check the .pst with no problems detected
I've tried starting outlook with /resetnavpane, I've made sure outlook.exe wasn't starting in compatibility mode.
I've only noticed this behaviour while using outlook 2007, I've yet to see it happen on 2010.
All the 3 users that have this problem are using either windows xp professional (32bits) or windows 7 enterprise (32bits).

Is there anything I'm missing, any aditional troubleshooting I can do ?

PS: I tried searching for it quite a few times in google and I didn't get alot of hits with a similar problem,
and to be honest I'm really not sure what I should be looking for, since troubleshooting a problem that has
no errors whatsoever (at least that I could detect) can be quite difficult.

I have really messed up this time. I use Win 2000 with OE6 & NAV. I was trying to see why my Windows Explorer said I had 56 MB of stuff in my Deleted emails folder although it showed no messages when I viewed the folder. I used Notepad to open the Deleted.dbx file & there was indeed a large amount of data there. I tried deleting the data but & ultimately ended up erasing the data and re-saving the file. It didn't seem to do anything to the size of the file.

The problem is that now when I look at my Inbox (which I didn't intentionally touch) I only see emails that have come in since I messed with that Deleted folder. All of my older emails are missing. The good news is that the Inbox.dbx still shows a large amount of data so I hope they can be recovered. My best guess is that I have changed the encoding into something that OE can't read. The readable OE folders show ISO encoding; when I re-saved the Deleted folder it didn't offer ISO so I tried ANSI. I have already tried resaving some test files in the other options offered under Notepad but no luck

Please, please tell me how can I recover my older Inbox items & get back to where I was this morning.

Hello, So hoping I can get this resolved. I've spent days reading on here and haven't had any luck. Here's the problem. I have Windows XP. I guess since I purchased my computer in 03 I have OE3 (I know it's a dinosaur but need to get these emails before I buy my new computer). Out of nowhere all of my emails in my inbox were gone. I finally found them. I put them in a file on my desktop. I have many sub folders...Bill emails, saved emails, etc. They are all dbx files. I can't open any of them. I read stuff about inbox.bak but I don't see that anywhere. Under properties I found the location of each sub file. I then tried to import, but I received a message that OE was open. So, they wouldn't import. I'm not the best at following computer commands but can do okay. So, how can I import and be able to read these messages. I want to save some and delete a lot, but need to read them first. Help!

Answer:Help, OE inbox emails are gone, found but can't read or import

I received an email from a friend last Saturday. I read it on Sunday from my Outlook inbox but did nothing with it. On Monday I went to reply but it had disappeared. I have repeatedly checked deleted items and everywhere else in Outlook and can't find it. Someone else who used my laptop on Sunday denies having done anything with the email. Can it have really disappeared without human intervention?
Thanks in anticipation....

Answer:Can read emails in Outlook 2007 automatically disappear?

Depending on your email provider, and the Outlook settings, you may still be able to access the email on the provider's webmail page. For example, if you read BT emails through Outlook, going to and logging in there will show all emails received. BUT, if Outlook is not setup to leave mail on the server, they may not be there.

OK this is strange. I opened WLM this morning and all was fine, my emails downloaded and I could see my inbox. All of a sudden though my inbox went away and the inbox window only shows the last email in my inbox...when I click on any of my folders, no list of emails appear and instead the last email in the folder shows on the screen...I went to View --> Show --> All Messages and that is properly selected but I can't see my list of emails in my inbox or any folder anymore.

This seems like a bug? I definitely didn't select any menu item, just open the program up this morning, all was fine, but then this occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

I had accidentally dragged the preview pane to the top of the window. Sorry.

Hello all,

For some reason, the Mail app seems to completely ignore emails in any other folder than my Inbox (i.e. the Social and Newsletters folder). It alerts me (although very late) for emails in my Inbox folder but there are no alerts when receiving emails in my Social or Newsletter folders.
Even when opening the Mail app and I see there are 7 new emails in the Social folder and 1 in my Inbox, the live tile only shows there is 1 email.
I have double checked ALL the options in the Mail app and the PC Settings app to make sure alerts should pop up as soon as new email comes in. The option to alert me for any kind of email (not just favorites) is also enabled.

I have reinstalled the Mail app, I have restarted the Windows Firewall service, performed the SFC /scannow command without finding any integrity violations and have run the App Troubleshooter to fix any issues without any result.

Running Windows Pro 8.1 (Update 1) x64 bit.

Answer:Mail app ignores emails in folders other than Inbox

As you probably know, the emails from certain sources use a rule (just like rules in the full Outlook) to file them in the Social and Newsletter folders. Being that the rule is probably invoked prior to them getting into the Inbox, it probably is bypassing the Notification.

Try dragging an existing email from one of the folders. It should ask you if you want to move just one or all future. If you answer All Future, it should basically delete the rule. When the next one comes in, see if you get a Notification. If you do, drag it to the folder to reestablish the rule. If it goes back to not notifying you, you're toast.

If you can live with all of them going to your Inbox, then redo the delete procedure for the rule and let the notifications come in.

I've got winXP and use outlook express. Last night I launched OE and my inbox appeared to be empty. At first I thought the messages somehow got deleted. But some of my inbox folders also appeared to be empty, while others still had emails.

I downloaded more emails from my isp, and then they disappeared too after closing oe and relaunching it.

On a hunch, I looked at my OE storage folder (which I have in My Documents instead of the default location), and the files looked normal, including Inbox.dbx I checked the properties of the inbox and it shows 13MB so I know the mails are there.

Since I thought OE was broken, I downloaded and installed Thunderbird, imported the OE settings, accounts, and mail boxes, and thunderbird has exactly the same problem. It doesn't display the emails from the inbox nor the same folders that OE doesn't display.

So it must not be a mail client problem. What could it be? How do I read my emails? I have emails in the inbox that need to be replied to.

Answer:Mail clients can't read inbox

I tried restoring the system to a point before the problem started, but that didn't fix it.

I have 7 email accounts available with Comcast and have had two of them set up with Windows Live Mail on my new Windows 7 system.

Been lovin' it. However, when I recently set up several more of my Comcast accounts (setting them up identically to the others), mail sent to them does not show up in their individual inbox folders. In fact, for those, incoming mail does not even show up in the "All Inbox" in "Quick Views". The only indication I have of incoming mail to any of these recently set up email accounts is that they do appear in the "All e-mail" folder of "Quick Views".

Again, these latter accounts are set up IDENTICALLY as the previous two that work properly.

When I try to delete and or move any of these emails to another folder and or delete I get an error box shows with a message that" an error occurred and cannot open -please try again later" Does anyone have a clue how to remedy this problem? Thanks for any and all responses,

Answer:Solved: Emails stuck in inbox windows 7 live mail

A little drastic but effective and practical if you don't have a large amount of old mail. Just delete that account from WLM and then add it right back.

I was looking at a Windows Mail issue for a friend and I am totally confused as to where the problem lies.

Most emails come into Windows Mail OK, mail from about 3 of his contacts exhibit the problem, we have since discovered that they all use Apple Mac. Mail from iPad and iPhone are OK.

The mail list shows that he has a mail from one of these contacts, it also shows the subject line etc. Double clicking on the email brings up a screen that basically says that the data is unavailable, in addition to this the sender is shown as "unknown" and the original sender name is now on the "to" box. Further investigation shows that the mail has no Internet headers, just some MIME info.

I am assuming that this is occurring in the local PC as it could not have got there without the headers. Mail is collected by POP3 from a BTconnect email address, there are no message rules, Mail is scanned by ESET antivirus.

Anyone got any ideas about this one.

Here's the background info:

We're on Exchange and we use the Lync tool. The user in question had her domain changed. I made the change in Lync as the change was already made in outlook. She then could not book online meetings and would get an error saying the user names in outlook and Lync were not the same even though they were.

To fix this, I deleted her profile and started outlook again. After her profile was downloaded from the exchange server, many of her new email she was receiving would appear with her name as the sender in her inbox. This is happening with most of her mail but not all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I primarily use Windows Mail for my work at home job. I also have a Gmail account so I can check for e-mails on my iphone when I'm out. I want to have it set up so that the emails show up in both places, Windows Mail and Gmail.

Currently if my desktop computer is turned off and my Windows Mail program is not open, the incoming emails only go to Gmail and not Windows mail. OR, if my computer is up and running but the Windows mail doesn't happen to be open, the emails only go to Gmail and not Windows Mail. Seems like if my browser (IE8) is open but windows mail is not open, emails will only go to Gmail.

Do I have some settings wrong which would make the emails not show up in Windows Mail?

I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer:Emails sometimes go to gmail and not windows mail

Hi lindalo5032,

While researching for this issue, found a link which might help in fixing the issue: Leaving Mail on the Server with Windows Mail | Tiger Technologies Support

Ensure to check the box ?Leave a copy of messages on the server? and uncheck ?Remove from server after? and ?Remove from server when deleted from deleted items?. Click Apply and then OK.

Check if the new messages appear in Windows Mails and Gmail.

Please post the results.

I was wondering if anybody has seen this. couple of month ago a user received a new laptop and I copied her files over from the old laptop to the new one. when I attached the archived .pst files to her outlook and was went on my way. i get a call now saying that her archived emails in the archived inbox isn't showing but archived emails in the archived sub-folders are showing. I checked to make sure there wasn't any filters set up, and there wasn't. I've never seen this before. I've copied .pst files from one laptop/comps to another without any issues. Unfortunately, her old laptop was wiped clean and reissued as a spare so that avenue is closed. Has anybody seen something like this before? I haven't been able to find anything on the net besides asking to check the view settings or filters...

My ISP, Shentel, now uses Google mail as email servers. I run a business and in the past have been able to send bulk type emails, broken down into groups of 80 or less recipients (per my ISP instructions) and had no issues. I have about 10-12 of these groups of 80 or less recipients and I send each group seperately throughout the day. In otherwords, I don't send all 10-12 groups at once.
I only send these group emails 2 - 4 times a year, so I'm not sending 10 ga-billion emails.
Recenlty (say in the last 6 months), I send out these bulk emails and the emails are not delivered. They are not stuck in the Outbox and they show as being Sent. I have contacted some of the recipients individually and they indicated they did not receive the group emails, but do receive individual emails.
I contacted my ISP and they just walked me through my Windows Live Mail settings, but he was not able to offer any other help.
Any help appreciated.

Answer:Bulk emails using Windows Live mail through Gmail

It sounds like there's a syncing issue between Windows Live and Gmail.
Are you able to get to the Gmail admin page for your email account via a web browser? From there, make sure it's configure to use IMAP.
You may also want to try another email client, like Outlook or Thunderbird.

I use two gmail accounts and each has a "send mail as" name specified, meaning when I send an e-mail, the recipient will see the sender as being the name I specified, rather than just my e-mail address.

When I send mail from gmail, this works, but when I send mail from gmail via Mail it always just shows the e-mail address, not the name.

On the other hand, all hotmail accounts I use show the name fine.

I checked in manage accounts->change mailbox sync settings and both accounts have "send your messages using this name" specified correctly, but the name still doesn't show.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I've reinstalled windows many times in the past and have always used the 'import/export' option for my email folders and accounts, and it's worked flawlessly everytime. Until now.

Accounts were imported correctly, and Live Mail is sending and receiving email since the reinstall, but all my saved email is not showing up in any of the folders. It looks like it loads them from my saved files (the box pops up showing them being transferred) but after it finishes the folders are empty.

I even just now tried to copy/paste them into one of the mail folders manually (had to google to find the pathway to them in explorer) and still they don't show up.

I don't have a clue as to what is going on with this.

I just noticed some 'imported folder' at the bottom left side and all my files are in there, which is fine I suppose, but why didn't they go into the current folders? Is there a setting to make them do this?

Answer:Imported emails not showing up in Live Mail after Win 7 reinstall.

Hello St8kout,

It's normal to have the Imported Folders in Storage folders after importing them like that. This would be step 10 in Option Two of METHOD ONE in the tutorial below.Windows Live Mail - Export and Import Email Messages
If you like, you could use Option Two in METHOD TWO in the same tutorial above to copy or move the messages in Imported Folders back to any email account folder you like.

Another option, if you like, is to set your email account settings to "leave a copy of the messages on the server" until deleted in Windows Live Mail. This way no matter where you access the email account, and after a reinstalling Windows and setting up Windows Live Mail again, your email messages will automatically be synced with the email accounts in Windows Live Mail.

Hope this helps,

Hope you guys can help with this issue. All of a sudden, incoming messages to the Inbox in Outlook disappear as soon as they are opened and read for the first time. Before you react, let me tell you:

the View is set on Messages, NOT Unread messages only
the Autoarchive is not the problem--no settings have been changed, and messages are not set to expire
Do you have any suggestions for more troubleshooting, or is my only option to delete the account and start over again? Would my messages re-load off the server? Or is this a situation where I need to contact the server--could the problem be on their end? Many thanks.

Answer:Messages Disappear from Inbox in Outlook 2007

Hi tgrover54

If you change the View to Unread then toggle it back to Messages, do the read messages appear?

Have you checked for any Rules that may be moving messages?

Send yourself a Test message. Give the subject line a unique name. If the message disappears after being opened, run a Search for it and see if it turns up in a location different than the Inbox.
Is this a home setup or a work computer using Exchange?
If the former, then the problem is on your end. Depending on how you have your options setup, you may or may not be leaving a copy of messages on the server.
If the latter, I would believe your messages are stored on your company's server, but it still sounds like it would be on your end.
Also, the Messages option can be changed, normally the Filter is off.
Click the drop down arrow on the View field and scroll down to Define Views... verify the options have the Filter off.
Highlight the View Name: Messages and click the Reset button.

Hi All,

Thanks for reading. I have a web based email which is a 123 webmail one. Up until late last week I was receiving emails no problem since then I have had nothing. It's not that I am unpopular.

I have narrowed the problem down to... I can receive emails sent from Google, Yahoo and Hotmail emails. But whenever an email is sent through outlook this outlook email not only does not arrive but it deletes everything else in my inbox.

My head is about to explode with frustration. I don't know what to do or how to solve this.

Looking for inspiration from anywhere.

Answer:Emails sent from outlook making other emails disappear

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Not sure why mail being sent through Outlook is not actually being sent. Does it report any errors when sending? Are the messages shown as being sent?

If you are having Outlook check for new incoming e-mails on your email account(s), it may be downloading them to your computer and then deleting them from the server. There should be an advanced options setting in Outlook to have it leave incoming messages on the server.

Like many others here, I am also experiencing trouble with MS Outlook when transferring messages from my UOL webmail into MS Outlook Inbox. The message alert appears but the message does not go into the Inbox, it simply disappears.
I have checked all basic configurations and have also checked if the problem occurs with certain domains. No it doesn't. It occurs sometimes with hotmail, gmail, uol, yahoo, big company domains, without following a rule. I have also executed msconfig and outlook /safe.

Mine is an original Windows XP Professional system and original Office Package. Some software I have installed that might be conflicting: ABBY Fine Reader, Adobe Flash Payer 10 Activex, Adobe Reader, Google Earth Plug-In, Google tool bar, McAfee Security Scan Plus, McAfee Segurity Center, Solid Print, Metatexis, PracticCount, White Smoke.
There are also some MS Office 2003 web components and I wanted to know if these can be removed without affecting performance of my MS Office package.

Hope someone can help me out. Thank you!

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

Question: GMAIL and inbox ?

When I move an email from my inbox to a label I made it still stays in my inbox why is that I can not get rid of email from my inbox when I move it to a lablel

Answer:GMAIL and inbox ?

Google does not put e-mails in categories, so you have all the mail in the inbox (except that which has been archived or moved to trash). The advantage of labelling is that you can, if you so wished, see only the mail with a particular label.

I am stumped by how to access my gmail account using my computer.  I created a new gmail email account using my iphone.  I can see that I have 3 emails in my inbox using my iphone.  these are confirmation emails from google.
However, I cannot access my gmail inbox from my laptop.  When I click on "gmail" from the Google home page I do not go to my gmail inbox, instead I go to my Goggle Account log in page.   From there it seems I can create a gmail email acct.  but I already have one.  when I try to enter the gmail addr I have on iphone, I get a msg that tells me it is already in use.  But all I want to do is use my gmail acct from my computer and compose a new email!.
Can someone explain to me what is going on?

Answer:how to log in to gmail inbox

If you see this page...Gmail - Email from Google.....then choose to sign in not to create an account.
Try signing out using your iphone first. Then delete all cookies from whatever browser you are using.
Now click on Gmail - Email from Google...and choose to sign in.
You can delete all cookies manually or use CCleaner to completely remove all cookies from all browsers
and other locations such as Flash and DOM storage. Just make sure that cookies is selected along with other
default selections. If you will be downloading CCleaner for the first time then be sure to pay close attention
while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars such as Google.

Important e-mails are disappearing in Gmail. I thought I had assigned a label to one, but when I went to the label folder, it wasn't there. Then I thought maybe I deleted it by accident...but it wasn't in the trash. I then assumed the hefty Gmail search would find it since a.) I knew the sender's name (Miles) and b.) the date (June 2). Still no luck.

So, my question is: How can I recover e-mails in Gmail if none of these options work? What happened to that message?

Today I discovered that the contents of my Inbox in Gmail had totally disappeared. My trash, deleted etc boxes were also empty. I checked my settings there are no changes to my forwarding (disabled) and the contents of the All Mail box does contain all my inbox contents and my sent mail.
I've taken the precaution of changing all password and questions on all the protected site I use. I went to access my Linksys WRT54G router to change my network PW via Chrome and the Linksys IP and could not get into the router. I have had this problem for a while now, have put up with it, but now it is a pain in the backside I cant ignore any more.

I use Gmail for my email and use iGoogle as my home page so I can see my calendar, rss feeds and email.

However when I click the inbox link on the home page, it then starts opening my inbox within iGoogle and then fails displaying an empty inbox.

Now I have tried the obvious things like clearing history, temp files, cookies etc.

The odd part is that it does this for me no matter what computer I login in to iGoogle on. My missus can use my computer and login and sign in to her iGoogle and she see' her gmail inbox fine.

The screenshot attached shows when I have clicked on the Inbox link in iGoogle, I should see about 60 emails, but it shows none.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

First, I would recommend that if you don't want something, the worst thing you can do is click on it.

All those tabs do is auto categorize your existing emails into different categories and boxes. It doesn't add emails or ads into your inbox. Here's an explanation of what they are:

When you clicked on Social it brought you to all the messages in your inbox that were categorized as social. If you click on Primary, it should bring you back to what you are used to.

If you don't want them, you should click on the gear icon on the top right of your gmail screen. In the dropdown box you will see 'Configure Email'. Click on that. Uncheck everything but 'Primary' and click Save. That should get rid of the tabs.

What's the difference between 'standard' view and 'basic HTML' view?
Standard view is what you'll see when you sign in to Gmail from a fully-supported browser.

In case you don't have access to a fully-supported browser, we still want you to have access to Gmail - that's why we've developed a basic HTML view of our service that is compatible with almost any browser. If you sign in to Gmail using a browser that isn't fully supported, you'll automatically be directed to the basic HTML view.

The basic HTML view is a little different than what you're used to because the following features aren't available:

* Filter creation
* Spell checker
* Keyboard shortcuts
* Address auto-complete
* Custom From addresses

If you need to access these features, please sign in to Gmail from a fully-supported browser, and make sure you have cookies and JavaScript enabled.

If you're directed to the basic HTML view of Gmail, but would like to try using the standard Gmail view, visit Keep in mind that standard view may not work, even with this link, if your browser isn't supported.

I use the link to check my email.
Just bookmark the link and when you click on it then you get the login page.

I don't use IE so do... Read more

I've tried searching everywhere, & I cannot find a solution to this problem.  I have a contact who shows up in my Chat list on the left of my Gmail, who I would like to remove.  He has two e-mail addresses, one gmail, the other is (his college address).  I've tried deleting him entirely, but the latter address still shows up in my Gmail Chat list, to my frustration.  He never uses that address anymore, so I desperately want to unclutter the list by taking it off.  There is no option to block, remove, or set it to "never show", so I'm coming here for help.  Hope you all can help me out!

Answer:Removing a Contact on Gmail Chat (No gmail e-mail address)

From the Web: How to remove a contact from chat list? - Google Product Forums
1. From your inbox, click the bold link on the left:
A list pops up with all your groups:
"Friends, Family, Coworkers, Gremlin Trainers, Most Contacted, All Contacts... etc",
2. Select All Contacts.
A list pops up with all your Contacts. You can even search, if thats how deep you roll, but that probably means you have too many contacts and why not just leave that one?
3. Select that person you don't really hate per se, but just don't want to see in your chat status list...
A window pops up with various options for where to move/what to do with that contact, including: "Show in chat list"4. Set that contact to: Auto, Always, Never, or Block.

For 3 days now, I am noticing my gmail inbox page messages are double spaced when they were single spaced before, I don't know what caused this but obviously, something I may have clicked inadvertently. I used to see this before also but it would correct itself to having my messages lining up as single spaced.

I have not yet converted to chrome and am using the old standard gmail.

Just looks weird that the lines are far apart. I want them back to single space, anyone know how to do this? And step-by-step instructions only please, if you can.

Thank you.

Answer:Solved: My Gmail Inbox messages are now double-spaced

Try this.
Click on the Gear icon in the top-right corner of your inbox and change the Display Density to “Compact”
Are you still using old Gmail interface ? I thought Gmail has forced all users to new interface and that is why suggested the above step.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me do this. I would like to know how I can set up a resend rule, so that all emails that get the main inbox folder of my email account A are resent to another email account B. The thing is not all emails sent to A get to this mail inbox folder because I already have many filters to send low priority emails to other folders in the same email account A.

What I want is, that Google resend automatically all emails that get to the main inbox because those are the emails, that are important for me. I do not want Google to resend automatically the emails that were filtered to other folders in account A according to the rules I created in the same account A.

Do you know how to do this?

In Outlook Express all incoming emails form 2 or more accounts would go into one inbox. I have 4 email accounts in Live Mail and I would love to direct all incoming email form all four accounts into the same inbox vs checking each account for new mail. Is this possible?

Thanks, Airpix

Answer:All new emails into the same inbox?

You should be able to set the other accounts to automatically drop their messages to the one inbox folder.
If memory serves (I don't use outlook anymore) you would right click on the inbox for each account itself and use the properties there to set the drop location for the emails.
This would still mean that any replies would come from the primary account as far as the recipient is concerned though. ...I don't know a way around that.

Answer:no emails in my inbox

This does not sound like its due to your email. I think that some software (probalby your Anti Virus) has an email filter system, to stop spam. You may want to look into those settings. What AV, are you using?

I have been using MS Outlook 2003, it is quite old version of program. But it is convenient for me and my workers. All the communication goes via email. Every day I receive many mails from my people. Today I haven't opened Outlook by a reason - MyEmails.pst can not be accessed - 0x80040116. I haven't seen such issue before. It does mean that my .pst is crashed or something else?

Hi All,

Am new on here & to Windows 7. Am also new to Outlook 2010. So here is my problem......

Emails were being received ok in Outlook 2010 until I imported my data from Outook 2007. Now I am not receiving any emails. Can't work out why? Have checked my pop 3 settings & they are all correct.
Would greatly appreciate any help.

Answer:Emails not going to Inbox??????

My guess is that the import corrupted the account. Set up a new account, use the same settings, delete the old account and then cross your fingers. Make sure of the settings, go to the website of the email providor.

I am using Netscape Mail v.6 (not Netscape WebMail) for WinXP. Recently I received a junk e-mail message which has remained in my inbox even after I've attempted to delete it. I've tried the delete key on the toolbar, the right-click delete, and dragging the message to the trash icon. None of them worked. The stubborn message has not budged from the inbox.

I have no problems deleting other messages however, just this message which originated from a site called Optin4Money.

Appreciate any advice.

Answer:E-mail message in Netscape Mail v.6 cannot be deleted from inbox

Dealing with Netscape I guess the easiest way might be to just delete the profile and create a new one.
