Kaspersky Total Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud

Question: Kaspersky Total Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud

Hi, really sorry if this is the wrong place or the wrong kind of forum to ask these kind of questions (alot of you guys seem like pros haha)

My Kaspersky AV licence is up and i'm looking at buying Total Security for another year and saw on Kaspersky website this new software they are calling Kaspersky Security cloud. The page for my knowledge is a little vague and it just looks kind of like Total Security repackaged.

Is there any crucial differences in KTS and this new Security cloud that would benefit me buying that instead?

Thanks for your time

Preferred Solution: Kaspersky Total Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Kaspersky Total Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud

Are you referring to Endpoint Security Cloud? If so it's for business customers only. If you're referring to something else could you please link to it.

If you're happy with KTS then I see no reason why you shouldn't renew it.

Hello to all,

today saw a commercial about Kaspersky Security Cloud. Was thinking whaaaattt...??!!

So today reinstalled Windows 10 64bit clean on a new GPT EFI Dynamic Drive and must say, that thing is snappy.

Kaspersky Version 18.0.0.405(b)

The interface and features feel allot like the Internet Security 2017 but allot more smooth.

My Question to you all here in the Community is how do you think about it?

My Security config. changed again. Will post a new one soon.

Best regards
Val.

I've tried many AVs over the years. Switched them to try out different brands (AV addiction disease). I finally settled on KTS. It works for me on what I need. Here is what I use to have:

-Free AV
-LastPass
-Acronis Backup
-True Crypt

What I use now:

-KTS 2018
-Kaspersky Password Manager
-Kaspersky Backup
-Kaspersky Encryption

The reason why I switched to KTS is, I wanted an all-in-one product. It felt weird having multiple apps running doing different things. I thought to myself, some AV has to have close to perfected multiple systems (password, backup, encryption, etc). I looked and looked and finally settled on KTS. I find that most of the extra features are very polished. For example:

Backup: Works wonderfully. Never has failed. I backup to a local drive and every time I check on its progress, I never see any error. I use to use Acronis. Acronis was difficult to understand. I had problems figuring out how to make it delete old archived backups. It would just never work. Kaspersky backup works every time and uses little space and properly deletes old backup data. Acronis always wanted more money every year to upgrade to its lastest and greatest version

Encryption: I couldn't find a simpler way to do encryption, especially with a built-in feature inside an AV. You create something called a 'container'. Think of it like a folder. Once created, all you do is double-click on the file, enter a password, then BAAM...it opens so you can see the contents... Read more

I have Norton Antivirus, Malwarebytes, ccleaner & Spyware Blaster on my Windows 7 Pro desktop computer, but, on my new Lenovo laptop I installed Kaspersky Total Security and even though it says "Total", I don't know if I should have any of the other malware programs that I have on the desktop installed on the laptop?  Thank you

Answer:Do I Need More Than Kaspersky Total Security?

1) Kaspersky is, in my opinion one of the top av options (I've been using it on all of my systems for many years). I only use KAV, but Total Security is an excellent choice!2) In addition to Kaspersky you should do a manual scan with MalwareBytes every once in a while (once a month, anyway). 3) It's a good idea to have SpywareBlaster and manually updated it every week or so.4) ccleaner is not  a malware utility. 5) I also use WinPatrol - but that's a personal choice.More important than any of the above is "smart computing": Don't visit "questionable" websites, don't download anything unless you are certain it is safe, ditto opening email attachments, don't let anyone else use your account or the admin account on your computer, etc.

I know this may look like I'm posting this in the incorrect area, but I'm not.  I'm looking at these two products to secure my home computers.  They both look like they are two of the best suites out there to me, but I'm curious to find out which one has the better firewall?

I was leaning towards Kaspersky for cost reasons, but Emsisoft seems to be getting extremely popular on bleeping computer.

Answer:EIS vs Kaspersky Total Security

Well its a complex answer basically everything you should do should be like an oinion. Looks of annoying layers to stop someone breaching your security. As many people have said safe surfing and safe practices are the best way and scanning emails that you are suspect. Dpends what you need secured they both are pretty good and very much of a muchness and in my opinion personally I would use emsisoft. Purely because of privacy concerns and how they handle your data.

If you have a look at their data handling policy and user agreement they seem to word it more favourably towards the end user. I personally am switching to them from bitdefender and avast for my systems at home.

Remember Strong passwords, Various email I.D's and two stage verfication for anything that is important in your emails. Also encryption if you have sensitive folders on your computer. Also a dedicated anti malware tool and software like Emsisoft or Kaspersky not both just one or the other. Also stengthen router password.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I wonder what kind of settings can be put on this or the features that can be disabled to keep it running smoothly.

I keep installing and uninstalling this software. It slows my web browsing, makes firefox almost unusable.

My setup is a i5 6 GB laptop.

I bought 3 licenses for kis total 2016 during this march. It seems like all will go to waste lol.

I got 2 unused licenses for total security. If anybody is interested in trading for another security product, let me know. I can provide you with the purchase screenshot or proof.

Waiting for my paid for copy of Kaspersky Total Security I downloaded the trial version just to see how things went.  Since downloading Kaspersky I am now getting BSoD failures that state "Kernal_Security_Check_Failure".  A big dump is made to a temporary file, system automatically reboots and once booted Kaspersky attemps to upload the temp dump to their server (I let it upload 1st time).  This occurs 2-3 times per day since I have started running Kaspersky.  Don't know if this makes any difference but I do run Malwarebytes real time.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on here and what to do?

Thanks

Kaspersky Labs is one of the best known names in Internet Security (IS), and PURE 3.0 Total Security is its top-of-the-range IS suite. It includes the core functions of antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spam, browser protection and a two-way firewall. On top of this, though, additional features include parental control, backup facilities with online storage, a password manager, online banking protection and data encryption.

Kaspersky has a main control screen with three panels, which turn from green, to amber, to red to indicate problems. The three panels are for Backup, Computer Protection and Parental Control, and a click on any of them takes you to a secondary screen giving control over their functions.

Computer Protection gives access to full, critical area and custom scans, though the custom scan only goes down to the drive level. If you want to scan specific files or folders, you can choose the Kaspersky option from the right-click menu within Windows Explorer.

The Backup panel leads through to a multi-stage setup Wizard which enables you to choose files by category, as well as individually. Unfortunately, the radio buttons only allow one category to be selected for each job, so you can?t pick, for example, documents and pictures.
There?s a simpler scheduler available, but it doesn?t provide for maintaining a set number of backup copies and clearing out older ones, as Bullguard does, for example.

Kaspersky has decided not to provide its own online storage serv... Read more

I just purchased Kaspersky PURE Total Security 2.0. I downloaded the file ok, but when i run it to install, I keep getting the 'installation failed' error. I ran the rescue tool, rebooted, tried to install again, and still the same. I am so annoyed an frustrated. Before this, i had the previous 2012 version that expired yesterday. I deactivated my firewall and removed the free McAfee SW i had in my laptop before tying to install this. Can someone please let me know what am I doing wrong.. and how can I fix this? Thanks!

Hi. Post title say everything. Does Kaspersky with Rehips is overkill? Is there any other good combos with kaspersky? Thank you

Answer:Kaspersky Total Security + ReHips overkill?

Anything with KIS is an overkill in theory but rehips has isolation which is something KIS doesn't offer so you have something extra. Now if you really need it you should decide for yourself.

would be grateful if anyone else has had this problem. I dowmloaded a exe file from kaspersky, a paid one I add. came down ok. it was a normal exe file.

I clicked on the exe, kaspersky window came up, 20 seconds later it vanished, completely. Well I downloaded the file 3 times, same thing. got in touch with kaspersky support, who gave me instructions for a silent install. Followed those to the letter, same thing.

Kaspersky reckons there is something in Windows 10 which is stopping the install, but blowed if I can find it. Am very loath to format the drive and re-install 10 to see if that will solve the problem, anyone got a better idea?1) Please download Kaspersky Total Security: http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/e...2.361en-gb.exe

2) Press the key combination Win + R to , erase all contents in the window, and then drag the file *.exe file, downloaded on Step #1, press the space key and append "/s" without the quotes. C:\KTS\kts15.0.1.415en.exe /s (there are spaces before and after /s)

Okay first of all, I don't know if either Google Chrome or Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 blocked 360 Total Security site because over the last 2 days i tried to access 360 Total Security site, then Google Chrome tell me that " This Webpage is not available" But then i click more details and this is what is said " The webpage at
Code:
https://www.360totalsecurity.com/en might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
I then tried on Edge browser, and it seems like it able to connect to 360 Total Security site without any issues. By the way, this also happened on my trial Kaspersky Internet Security installed on my laptop as well. So I don't know what's going on because there is literary no malicious, phishing, or fraudulent alert from Kaspersky or Google Chrome. Is this some kind of bug?

Here is the 360 Total Security site i tried to access over the last 2 days.

Code:

Answer:Kaspersky blocked 360 Total Security website?

No. It opens for me
Kaspersky didn't blocked it

I have Kaspersky Total Security 2016 installed.
Can I run also Webroot Secure Anywhere 2016, with only the Realtime Shield enabled?
Or will that maybe cause problems for Kaspersky?
Windows 10 pro x64.

I have a long-term problem with Kaspersky cloud protection not working, I opened a ticket with Kaspersky support and it is dragging on for weeks. It is probably an unsolvable problem caused by my ISP. So I thought I would add a little cloud protection to my system, if it doesn't disturb anything.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I am presently running this combo and I don't experience any conflicts.

Answer:Kaspersky Total Security + Webroot Secure Anywhere?

No need to do that.KTS 2016 is a "Beast" with custom config.

does anyone know why this keeps happening to my kaspersky antivirus? I keep getting these vulnerable objects every saturdays and there are always about five of them. I am thinking of maybe that they are not updated so they keep being detected... I want to know if anybody know how to stop this and fix it.

Answer:help.... detected objects on my kaspersky total security 2016

Hi:

It sounds and looks from your screen shot as if you have KIS configured to run a weekly vulnerability scan.
That scan is detecting outdated plug-ins (Adobe Flash Player, etc.) and an outdated application (7zip).

To change the vulnerability scan schedule, see the attached screen shot (taken from KIS2016 under Win10 v1511, 64-bit).
Once you click on item 4 in the screen shot (vulnerability scan), you will be taken to a menu of scheduling options, including "manual", if you wish.

Adobe Flash Player for IE11 under Win10 should be updated automatically via Windows Update.
To update your Adobe Flash Player for Firefox and other browsers, the standard way is to visit this web page:

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

IMPORTANT: Be sure to UN-tick (disable) the offers for free, bundled software during the setup wizard.
(There are other sites from which to directly download the Flash Player setup files, but the above link is the standard one for non-Enterprise users.)

To update your version of 7zip, go to the vendor's website and download the correct version of the current build (16.04) for your architecture, either 32-bit or 64-bit:

http://www.7-zip.org/

Please post back and let us know how it goes, so that we can all learn.

Thanks,

MM

So I was just looking at that settings on Kaspersky Total Security 2015 and stumbled upon this..Block and warn about insecure transmission of passwords over the Internet.
With this option enabled, Kaspersky Internet Security will block an attempt to send a password within a none secure public or home Wi-Fi network.Does anyone use this feature or know about it? It's off by default..I mainly use my laptop at home but sometimes use public Wi-Fi such as cafes, hotels etc. or round other people's houses.. Is it really necessary? Or will it just limit me?

Hi Star It's a good thing to have it enabled by default if you asks me, since it could prevent your passwords from being sent over a network that have been compromised if a MiTM (Man in the Middle) attack have been setup. I suggest you to leave it enabled and if you have issues browing the web on your own network(s), then you can disable it and see if it works or add these networks as exceptions under Networks. My PC recently often occur BSOD "Kmode exception not handled", which is after installing KTS 2018. Now BSOD doesn't occur again after going back to KTS 2017. However, I am not sure if bsod will occur again later. My question is that , can antivirus cause BSOD? But it seems that antivirus is not hardware related.

PS - I'm not sure if the key would work outside of the U.K. As it says UK on the above link.

Hi:

Kaspersky exerts strict geographic localization on their licenses in order to limit piracy.

So, yes, I would guess that your key will not be valid outside the UK.

Answer:Recommended setting for System Watcher in Kaspersky Total Security

Hello,
I cannot understand Spanish but it looks good. To really improve your system security you should look at Kaspersky's Application Control settings, that's were you can do the most work, here is a guide to help you - How to setup Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 for Maximum Protection (Guide) - it's for KIS 2016, but it should work for 2017 as well!

@harlan4096 may also give you some great tips on how to better configure Kaspersky.

Hello,
On my Windows 10 pro PC, I'm running (BDTS 2017 + Voodoo Shield Pro + Malwarebytes 3), and this combo is very smooth for me, but when I saw the results of MT tests here : AV Test - MalwareTips - Bitdefender Report - March 2017 and here : AV Test - MalwareTips - Kaspersky Report - March 2017, I think that these tests demonstrated that Kaspersky did a better job then Bitdefender
So my question is to know if it is a good idea to replace BD by KIS on my config ?
Thanks
NB: I have paid keys for both

1/ kaspersky with tweaked settings alone

2/ kaspersky, slightly tweaked + Voodoshield

Windows 10 64 Pro Anniversary Build Latest Update
Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 Latest Update
No other RealTime security software.

My portable programs SecurMyBit, VidCoder, etc... were under "Low Restricted" in Application Control.
I move them to "Trusted" in AC.
After couple of days, the programs rules are neither in "Trusted" or "Low Restricted".
When I run the programs, they appear under "Low Restricted" And I again move them to "Trusted" But after couple of days the same mentioned above i.e the programs rules are neither in "Trusted" or "Low Restricted".

Is it a bug or bug on Windows 10 64 or bug in KIS 2017 or ............?

Any info?

Any Kaspersky users experience the above?

Answer:Kaspersky Application Control - Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 bug?

Yes, this happens & not only in 2017 but in earlier versions as well.

I experience it as well, but not quite often as you are. Mine comes when i am disconnected from internet for a while & then connect again, then (i guess) KSN checks the app control rules again & places them (apps) as described in the KSN rule-set.

The problem come from the setting 'Load rule for applications from KSN' in application control, which is enabled by default.

This shouldn't be a problem if you are using default settings (Auto-mode) as Low restricted is basically Trusted in auto-mode. But if you use interactive mode, this causes a lot of prompts which can be quite annoying.

Kaspersky Lab Presents a New Version of Kaspersky Small Office Security to Reflect Modern Needs of Small Business
Kaspersky Lab announces its latest edition of the Kaspersky Small Office Security, the company?s security solution built specifically for businesses with fewer than 25 employees. This solution provides world-class protection and easy use without the need for specialist IT skills. New features make it easier to focus valuable resources on running and developing the business while keeping operations, customer?s and employee?s data secure.

Nowadays, small businesses are frequently becoming prey for cybercriminals because they generally pay less attention for cybersecurity while housing increasingly valuable data. According to recent survey results, the share of companies that allow usage of personal employee?s devices within the corporate network has grown to 62% in 2014. At the same time, although businesses realize that customer?s personal information (25%), payment requisites (13%) and trade secrets (12%) are among top priorities of their information security needs, they keep taking very basic protective measures, relying, for example, on free anti-malware products. Respondents indicated that they desire a powerful, but simple and easy-to-use security solution that would come at an affordable price.

Kaspersky Small Office Security is equipped with enterprise-grade technologies, but it was designed specifically to serve the needs of very small bu... Read more

As far as I know, the main difference is that KAV does not have Application Control, but Kaspersky Internet Security does.
Does this make a big difference in protection?
I am asking because I want to combo Kaspersky with an app that has a HIPS component, so I need to use KAV rather than KIS.

Answer:how good Internet Security Kaspersky AntiVirus, as compared to Kaspersky Internet Security?

Application control and Trusted Applications Mode are a great additional layer of protection. Which app do you want to add to Kaspersky? IMO KIS would be the best. TAM is really great.

If you come from Bitdefender then I would recommend you KIS2016, quite light; very effective. ESET is also a good option, Emsisoft same stuff. If you like smooth and less interactive protection ESET and Kaspersky would be better, Emsisoft is cool but a bit more interactive IMO.

Windows 7 Hangs sometime after startup or when trying to uninstall Kaspersky Total Internet Security and/or trying to install Windows 10. A few weeks ago the hang happened during windows startup e.g. within a few seconds of logging on with my user. I suspected
one of the startup programs being the cause, possibly Kaspersky. So in Safe Mode stopped all startup programs. I was then able to logon normally, but when I tried to uninstall Kaspersky sometime into the uninstall it hung. Same happens when someway into trying
to install Windows 10. So I manually removed all the Kaspersky files in Safe Mode, only way i knew how to remove it. But with it seemingly removed still couldn't deploy Windows 10, me hoping this would help! The hang would still occur if left on with browser
running a music site, though this might take a long time to hang. So though I would deploy Kaspersky again and straight away Hang happened again on user startup. So againstopped/disabled at startup and services. Is there anyway I can completey remove Kaspersky
so I can rule this out. Suggestions welcome

Earlier I was using Bitdefender and thought Bitdefender was the number 1 and Kaspersky is the number 2. But After coming to this forum I realized that the reality is completely different! Some products have trouble working with Windows 10, some have trouble protecting 64bit systems. I did some digging and settled with two products. Kaspersky and ESET. Im using a Windows 10 64 bit system. What product might be the best for such a setup?

Answer:ESET Smart Security 9 vs Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 for Win 10 64bit

For purely protection basis you may go to ESET SS 9 as you can tweak the HIPS for protection and their Sandbox (Banking) + so far the architecture (x64) isn't affected from performance.

KIS 2016 is a promising suite, however until now limited components working from prevention due to Windows 10 environment which the developers make a note to fix those issues; but overall a balance concept where you can tweak more from numerous components.

Somehow the system impact tends to be consistent as light for ESET than Kaspersky.

Still brace yourself to see those possible unique characteristics.

Answer:[Behavior Blocker] Norton Security vs Kaspersky Internet Security 2016

As for Kaspersky, I have not used it since about 2009 when it was Kaspersky PURE so I cannot really comment. But as for Norton, it blocks unknown files it doesn't have a HIPS as such but any program being stupid of trying to access websites and files they shouldn't get blocked by SONAR their zero-day and zero-hour malware component.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 is a capable product which delivers everything you?d expect from a security suite: antivirus, firewall, browsing protection, a spam filter and more. The technology scores highly with the independent testing labs, too, so we were interested to see what the new build had to offer.

Installation was quick and easy. Unlike some of the competition, you?re not forced to remove anything else vaguely security-related: Kaspersky warns you about possible conflicts, but whether you uninstall any problem programs is up to you.

The interface looks a little different to previous editions -- lighter, more subdued -- but it feels very similar. Four large buttons give access to key areas (Scan, Update, Safe Money, Parental Control), and links give one-click access to your settings and a list of other tools. It?s all very straightforward, and even newcomers to Kaspersky should quickly find what they need.

We did have a few issues with the initial setup, with for example our spam filter being turned off by default. Fortunately this wasn?t difficult to spot, or fix: click Settings > Protection Center, every protective layer is listed, and you?re able to disable or enable them with a click. It only took a few moments, and we were ready for testing.

Antivirus
Kaspersky cloud-assisted antivirus technology is highly rated by independent testing labs, and it?s not difficult to see why. As we write, AV-Test?s latest reports show the Kaspersky 2014 d... Read more

I am looking for some help and advice from my fellow forum members. I'm currently using Zone Alarm Internet Security and it's due to expire in 30 days. I've been thinking about changing to either Kaspersky Internet Security or ESET Smart Security for a number of reasons.

Firstly, both products seem to offer excellent independent anti virus products. Secondly, I prefer whole integrated suites and I know one of the criticisms is the large memory and CPU consumption that they use. However, these two products seem to have a relatively small memory footprint.

I was just wondering if anybody had used either of these products and how they found them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have been persuaded to use Kaspersky and am awaiting download. Do I have to remove Sec Essentials before installing Kasp ?

Answer:MS Security Essential and Kaspersky Internet Security 2014

Yes, it's better to remove any other antivirus prior to install a new one. Reason is that two active antivirus scanning the system at the same time may conflict between them and unnecessarily slow down your system.

Always have only one antivirus doing on-access system scanning. Keeping MSE or anything else just for on-demand scans is fine.

Norton Security Standard (lastest version)
Kaspersky Internet Security (lastest version)

Will use the suite firewall (on max settings)
Will be used along with VodooShield and HitmanPro.Alert

Answer:Norton Security Deluxe vs Kaspersky Internet Security

Although Norton (Symantec) is as good as any other well known anti-virus program, it is costly, requires numerous services and running processes that consume system resources and often results in complaints of high CPU usage. Anti-virus software components insert themselves deep into the operating systems core where they install kernel mode drivers that load at boot-up and create files/folders/registry entries in various locations.I have read from other users that Norton has made improvements in newer versions of their software so they are not as resource heavy as past versions...while others still say differently. Those issues plus the cost factor are the primary reason many folks look for a free alternative. IMO, Norton is better utilized in an Enterprise system environment protecting many client computers. With that said, there are a lot of folks who prefer using Norton (especially if it came preinstalled) and there is nothing wrong with staying with a product you are satisfied with.Norton Security Standard, Deluxe and Premium (formerly Norton Internet Security) are suites which means they include additional features in addition to anti-virus protection. Some of those extra features will also consume resources and affect performance. Symantec Endpoint Protection includes many of the same features but is intended for small businesses with several computers and servers.I'm not an advocate of suites. All-in-one tools and suites are filled with extra features (including "bells... Read more

Question: Kaspersky Security

I have a spare laptop that I use to test how well antivirus/internet security products work. Lately, I have been putting Kaspersky's products to the test against real malware. The vast majority of malware that Kaspersky misses I will submit to their virus lab for analysis. I was floored when some major threats it didn't detect contained no malicious code, according to the virus lab. Other vendors such as AVG, McAfee, Trend Micro, etc. all find these threats Kaspersky says has no malicious code a threat. How can this be??? I don't feel very safe using it now after hearing all this...

Answer:Kaspersky Security

Welcome to the world of anti-malware software - they are all so very different in some respects. This is why you never rely on a scan from one single product. You should always have some layered approach.

Just to clarify, you said

Quote:
some major threats it didn't detect contained no malicious code

Is that a typo error? If something contains no malicious code, then it can't be a major threat, and therefore Kaspersky has no reason to detect it.

Golden

How good is Security Essentials by Microsoft? I recently had been trying it and noticed that it only slows down the machine a perceptible amount.
It is based off of Live one care which actually had good ratings. I won a year subscription to Kaspersky and do notice a hit in speed reduction,,,not that its a big hit if comparing to many of the AV solutions out there.Kaspersky also has good ratings..its nice and easy enough to use. Security Essentials is very easy as there basically are not options.

What I need to know is the detection level of the two compared to each other. If Security essentials does a good as job as Kaspersky then I am as well off using it,as there is no performance hit.

Security essentials turns off windows defender, and runs faster than a bare machine with nothing but windows defender.

At the moment I have windows defender disabled and am using Kasperky and do notice the hit in performance...so its not merely based on whether or not windows defender is enabled...Personally it has never caught anything for me and have no problem disabling it while running a good av such as kaspersky or similar

How good is Security Essentials?

I am using Windows 7

Has anyone here tried Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0? I've just popped to aria computers to pick up some ram for Bex's PC (~£22 for 2x256 DDR3700) and saw this for less around £8.

It was an OEM version of course, but if it is much better than AVG I can't really complain. I didn't get it, but may do when I next go back. It appears to be their normal AV plus a firewall and a few other things.

From what I've heard it is one of the best, but if anyone here has some experience please do let me know

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0

Ady has just finished an eval of KAV, but I'm not sure of the version. We are both on NOD32 for now.

KAV Internet Security 6 has had some very good reports ... catching 100% of almost everything thrown at it ... it's an "all-in-one" package, and, it will slow-down a less-than-up-to-date PC ... it does a lot of real-time checks, a bonus in my book.

I keep hyping on about AVG, it really is a very slow AV when it comes to updating to new in-the-wild nasties ... good AVs should be able to update several times a day, and KAV will do that every 3 hours.

If you would be a good sport, go get me a copy ... I'll pop a check in the post.

I'm looking to upgrade to KIS, i would like to know does KIS update itself silently in the background?. does it bombard you with take action messages all the time?

My system is Dual Core 2.40 GHz and 3GB of RAM, will KIS slow down my PC?

What is the best version of KIS to get for Vista? - 09, 10 or 11?

How would you guys rate KIS overall?

Thanks

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security

Hello draven,

I have had KIS since '09. 2009 was good, 2010 really dropped the ball. I just upgraded to 11 last week. I have a Vista and upgrades were smooth until today. New patch issue. KIS just runs itself in the background if you set it to auto. (default) Updates, blocks etc. but it lets you know what it has done.

PC mag gave 11.0.1.400 great ratings on firewall, anti-virus protection, parental controls but it lacks great virus removal tools. Go with the 11. They have a trial version on their site. Try it free for 30 days, I believe.

Hi all.

I recently reloaded Kaspersky AV v7, but during the process KAV said it wasn't compatible with Comodo firewall. So, I ended up uninstalling Comodo to install KAV. I was going to try reinstalling Comodo, but first I wanted to check with folks to see if anyone is using Kaspersky Internet Suite, KIS, which has a firewall. I was thinking of switching from KAV to KIS. I read one review saying that the Kaspersky firewall is one of the best out there. Anyone have any experience with it? Anyone else running KAV and Comodo? Thanks.

Answer:Anyone using Kaspersky Internet Security v7?

Hi, I tried Kasperski online and I must say it discovered virusses that my Norton did not found. It looks like it is a great anti-virus scanner.I don't know about the firewall. One thing I know is that I switched off my windows firewall because Norton has one imbedded and this works out well. So buy Kasperski with firewall if you want.

Hi,
So I was told to use this scanner called Kaspersky Security Scan FREE to scan my PC, I was told that it has the same detection rate as the paid Kaspersky antivirus but minus the real time protection.etc (BTW is Norton better than Kaspersky for detection rate?)

I was told this is a great portable scanner.

Does this really have the same detection rate has the same one? If so thats so cool! I heard Kaspersky is one of the best!

Thanks

PS: I have Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes + Avast, I am a bit paranoid so I want some temporary scanners, I am thinking of downloading Zemana + Kaspersky Security Scanner, I have heard good things about Norton Power Eraser but bad things about Norton as a company, should I trust Norton power eraser? IS there anything else I should download?

Thanks for your time

Answer:Kaspersky Security Scan?

Use HitmanPro instead, it packs both Bitdefender and Kaspersky signature databases. It is technically a paid product, but you can legally use it forever if you select "I just want to scan my PC once".
About NPE, it is an agressive scanner and shouldn't be used regularly unless you suspect that your PC is infected.

Has anyone with KIS 6 or 7 noticed that your computer slows down on heavy network activity? If I copy files to another PC on my local network my PC really slows down - if I disable KIS for the duration it is much faster.

I don't want to disable parts of KIS unless I really need to (apart from the banner/popup blocker).

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security

Add your network to Trusted and or change to High speed ... see attachments below.

Try HighSpeed first ... as you see, I did not need to add to Trusted.

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security as my anti-virus and firewall program. I noticed this program had slowed down the boot up time substantially. Is there anything I can do to speed up the booting process without having to uninstall this program?

Thanks.

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security 7

Well .. You need YOur Antivirus to Start at Startup

All you can do is disable some of the programs you don't need at startup ..

Start >> Run >> Msconfig >> Startup tab >>

Did you got to the site and use their removal tool???  If not you may have to reinstall then use the tool, AV software can be quite hard to remove especially without the proper tool.

Hello guys, please i will like to know if both kaspersky internet security 2010 and superAntiSpyware can both sit on a pc at the same time and if they do with the pc crash??????????????

My second problem is, i have a formatted pc and i want to recover all the peach-tree files that were formatted away. Please what kind of software can i use to recover the said peach-tree files. I have tried Recover my files, but it doesnot have peach-tree file extension as part of the files it can recover. Someone please help

Answer:kaspersky internet security

I don't think they'll both work on your computer, try to keep only one if you want to save your PC from crashing.
I wouldn't use Kaspersky anyway.

I installed Kasperksy Internet Security on my home computer and took advantage of the six month free update to Kaspersky 7.0. Now this is due for renewal, but when I type in my ID and password I repeatedly get a message that there's no registration for these. As there are now only 6 days left, it seems I must either buy the whole package rather than renewal, or switch to a different company. Has anyone else on this forum experienced this problem?

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security

I'll forward your question to my contact at Kaspersky and ask them to contact you directly. Kind regardsRichardCover Disc Editor

hi.i just purchased kaspersky internet security 7 and i was wondering if i should aslo download adaware or does kis provide enough protection.

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security 7

No single product is 100% foolproof and can detect and remove all threats at any given time. The security community is in a constant state of change as new malware infections appear. Each vendor has its own definition of what constitutes spyware and scanning your computer using different criteria will yield different results. The fact that each program has its own definition files means that some malware may be picked up by one that could be missed by another. Thus, a multi-layered defense using several anti-spyware products (including an effective firewall) to supplement your anti-virus provides the most complete protection.Instead of Ad-aware, I would recommend using SUPERAntiSpyware Free. The free version does not run in real-time mode...a purchased upgrade to the "Professional" version is required before this option can be activated. See Free vs Pro Comparison Features.

Hello community,Today I installed my antivir-software Kaspersky-Internet-Security 8.0 on my Windows 7 beta... Of course I have a license-key and i do activate it. A message occured and it says that the computer have to do an restart to complete the installation. The laptop shut down and start again. I have installed windows seven beta on my second hdd-partition and so i saw the multiboot-screen. I selected w7 and wait until i see the login-screen. After I entered my password I saw the desktop. The Pc starts the w-lan connection and start live messenger and so on but kaspersky didn´t started. i dont saw the K-symbol in the taskbar. Then the laptop restarts. (First bluescreen and then i saw the toshiba-logo.) Now  this happens every time if i try to use windows 7. And because its shut down immediately, i haven´t got a chance to search the mkistake... And of course it can have another reason why this happen...thanks for the answers and sorry for bad english i´m from germanyrgx390

I installed mine. KIS 2009 and no problems. for rgx, try to uninstall KIS 8.0. This can be due to an incompatibility of KIS 8.0 to Win7.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 says "hypervisor-powered protection against screenshops does not work in Kaspersky Internet Security 2016"  message appears everytime I go into a secure site (paypal). Called Kaspersky, was told HP needs to turn on virtualization. Now what??

Answer:Kaspersky Internet security

@badenoff, welcome to the forum. You will have to begin tapping F10 every second when the computer begins to boot.  This will take you into the BIOS setup utility.  If it is available, I believe the option will be in the System Security tab.  If not, look in each tab to see if you can find it.  HP doesn't always make all settings available. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Greetings,
My PC started doing things like changing settings (Graphics reset to 4 bit) and creating new odt documents or changing rtf to odt. KIS 2010 scans found nothing at first, then stopped with "encountered a problem and must close" or "Data Excription Protection messages. I uninstalled Kaspersky. I ran AVZ and I thnk it killed the active malware. After AVZ finished, I rebooted and got "Unknown hardware found" and "Do you want to install this hardware?" messages. I didn't allow the install and disabled it in hardware manager. (It was under unknown hardware with a ! symbol.) I tried to reinstall KIS but it kept aborting. Then I ran Kaspesky Rescue Disc (Sent to me by Kaspersky)- that took 19 hrs with "Nothing Detected". Then I tried to reinstall KAV 2010 again. This time it said install sucessful and to reboot Computer. Upon reboot, when Kaspersky was loading, Kaspersky's messages popped up saying "Some Componants Cannot be Enabeled". I then when I ran the stand alone Kaspersky removal clean up tool sent to me by Kaspersky messages popped up "Error loading %InstDir%Kav.bav. The module cannot be found" and " Error loading %InstDir%\Kav.tbp The module cannot be found" followed by a message saying removal was seccussful. But when I re-run removal tool to see if it got all of kaspersky, it says Kaspersky is still there. So I don't expect a fully functioning Kaspersky can be installed until... Read more

I purchased KIS 2010 a little over a week ago and it has been nothing but a pain in my neck ever since then. I strongly recomend that you follow another path to removing your malware. And to it now. I am a little more familiar with the process as outlined for adware removal at majorgeeks.com.. But I am sure there are excelent instructions somewhere here as well..

When I got KIS working the Scan took over two days and did not catch the Vundo variant that I had on my computer. Thank goodness I did see something in a popup that made me curious and I downloaded and ran SuperAntiSpyware... it scanned much faster than KIS and it caught a whole bunch of things that KIS 2010 did not. My next steps are going to be to run malwarebytes.. possibly followed by combofix and mgtools.exe.

Kaspersky has gone downhill fast. I purchased a CD over the internet had it delivered and installed it... A scan would not complete.. So I downloaded the latest version on their site with not much improvement.. The very next day another updated version was available so I dowloaded that and installed it as advised... I have been doing nothing but downloading, installing and scaning with that piece of junk for more than a week now, and despite all that effort it still failed to catch the Vundo variant I had on my computer. I had 16 files, 5 registry entries and 1 memory item detected by SuperAntiSpyware that KIS 2010 MISSED.

I am now going to go through the entries here and try to figure out what th... Read more

I have had problems with Zone Alarm and am looking for something else. Kaspersky reviews seem pretty good, but this is what Zone Alarm has put in its new version and it is interminably slow, and updates itself every hour, which slows everything else to a crawl. Does Kaspersky Internet Security do this too? Is there any support if things go wrong?

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security

I always prefer to get my AV, firewall and anti-spyware applications from different, and more focused, vendors, rather than use an all-in-one application. This seems to avoid the inevitable programming gunk involved in the mesalliance caused by acquisitions. Here is a link to several good (and free) firewalls; I have used both Sygate and Comodo with very good results:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.htmlRegards,John

The cover DVD includes a copy of version 6.0. and states that it can be upgraded to version 7.0 free of charge before 31 July 2007. How? Kaspersy's website only mentions version 6.0! I'm puzzled. Any suggestions?
