How to recover permanently files and folders in windows 8? Please help

Preferred Solution: Recover permanently deleted files in windows 8

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Recover permanently deleted files in windows 8

If they have been permanently deleted, then there is no hope that they can be recovered.

Is it possible to recover deleted data that are deleted using shift delete combination in Windows 2007 Op[erating System.

Answer:To recover permanently deleted data

yes you can try using open source software to recover data, but the success rate is low, your better off searching for a data recovery company. It is quite expense, a key word in IT is always backup, no offense but everyone learns the hard way :P

I am running MS Outlook 2002 SP3 on Windows XP Pro. My email provider is comast. I had several hundred emails in my deleted items folder which I permanently deleted last weekend. I now realized there were emails I needed and I'm trying to recover them.

MS Outlook help has instructions for doing this, but it doesn't appear to work in my case (the recover option doesn't appear). I'm guessing it's due to my server configuration with Comcast (due to Comcast not keeping emails on the server once they're downloaded), but I'm not sure.

Can anybody out there help?

Answer:Recover Permanently Deleted MS Outlook emails

Are you using the free Outlook backup program from Microsoft? If so, you should be able to recover some or maybe all of the deleted emails if you have been letting it perform regular backups.

Hello there. I really need your help. I have accidentally deleted a very important .txt file that was really small, only around 10 bytes and contained only a randomly generated password of around 10 characters. It was on my desktop and was named New Text Document.txt by default. I have deleted it with two other files I did not need, and I did not see that this was also marked before deleting. I have tried multiple recovery programs (recuva included) and used deep scan but had no luck and these programs did not even show anything close to the file I needed (no such name, no such size or date). So is it possible that the file has changed its name after deleting or something? Is there any other way to try to recover the file? It is really important to me and I desperately need to get it back. I have also entered it to my browser multiple times, just did not save it, maybe there is some way of retrieving it from there? Thanks a ton!!

Answer:Is there a way to recover a small .txt file that was permanently deleted (shift-del)?

If it is for a website, can you not just do a password recovery from it?

I want to recover the data file or folder in windows 7.I have used the Restore Previous version but I couldn't get my files againplease give some idea to recover my files without using softwares

Answer:Recover file or folder permanently deleted from work server

Since they were on the server, especially if they were on the server overnight, there has to be a back up of the drive/folder. As mentioned, see your system administrator and have them access the last back up before you or someone deleted the file or folder in order to identify it so they can restore it for you. This does not need any software that is not already part of their back up solution. It might embarrass you to admit that you deleted an important document but that is better than not having the important document(s) or having to do extensive work over again (if possible). You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I know it can be done, it's just very difficult to do..,..,

I know that when you delete files from your recycle bin, the files are still stored somewhere in the computer. I'd like to know if I can simply access the files, so I can permanently delete them 100%.

My computer is windows XP Compaq media center edition 2005

Thanks!

Answer:How do I PERMANENTLY delete "permanently" deleted files from my computer?

Those files are still there, but we arent able to access/see them .. I just know that Windows "hide" these files from the tables, but it leaves the registry of these files "open" so other information can be written over.

That means... By the time your files will be overwritten by other information and slowly they will permanently be deleted.

Hi guys,

I was using Windows 8.1 then upgraded to Windows 10, but all of my personal files has deleted and I tried best of recovery programs and they're not helped me.
So, if I roll back to my previous version of Windows, does my personal files recoverd?

Thanks for you.

Answer:How do I recover my deleted files after upgrading to Windows 10?

No. Rollback doesn't affect personal files. In fact to do a rollback would make chances of recovering files worse as you would be writing more to the disk.

If you don't have backup and can't recover them they are lost unfortunately.

So, my problem started earlier this week when I tried to scan my Hard Drive using my antivirus system. Never do that.
My Vaoi laptop froze at 27% during the scan, and I had to manually shut it off (hold down the power button) and then restart it. Well, it started the scan again, and got stuck again, so I had to restart it again. The next time, I was able to read this millisecond long message about how to "cancel dskchk by pressing any key", so I did, but then it just took forever to load and opened on an error message saying that windows couldn't load, or something along those lines.

Eventually, after figuring out how to open safe mode, I tried to use a Restore point (which didn't work), Refresh the System (which couldn't complete), do a lot of maintenance scans (none of which helped), consult the internet off of my friend's computer (where I heard about the windows.old folder), and then I was finally forced to use the Vaio Recovery Tool and do an emergency backup onto my new External Hard Drive... It semi-worked, but a lot of my files weren't passed over to the external drive, and I'd like to get them back.

The files I care about are mostly image and document files (jpg, bmp, Word, and Notepad) and the folders they were in were all on my Desktop, but I don't know how to get them back. Thanks for the alert about the dup. thread. I closed it.

When you don't have a backup I don't know what can be done except for trying recovery software, as you have, or if the data has suddenly become very important there are companies who can, at least sometimes, succeed where free software fails.

I just recently deleted a folder that i wasn't supposed to delete inside
my EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. Inside that folder were 2 other very important sub
folders. It was over 8 gigs so when i deleted it, i unfortunately commited
the same mistake of pressing the "yes" button again when it asked the
files to bypass the recycling bin being permanently deleted from the
computer. In fact it happened so fast it seemed like it vaporized. It was
hard to believe that over 8 gigs of files were eliminated that fast,
whereas usually any big file i would delete would normally take a while
for the computer to process. I seriously doubt the worst here, and i have
tried about 4 data recovery programs that were only able to detect the
very main folder that was deleted but not the more important 2 subfolders
inside of it containing the big chunk of the data. I've even been able to
detect files that were deleted months ago through these programs, but not
the important 8 gigabyte chunk i just deleted an hour ago. By the way i
tried scanning both the C drive(main) and the external hard drive and
browsing through the :/recycle folders, but to no avail.

The programs i used were EasyRecovery pro v 2.45, Final Recovery, Free
Undelete and Win Undelete.

I have located over a 1000 previously deleted files with Tuneup Utilities but it will not permanently delete the files. Another program I trial downloaded located over 1200 previously deleted files but it will only attempt to restore the files, not delete them. I have run disk cleaning utilities that clean free space but does not remove the deleted files. These are not sensitive files and lot of them are 0 byte files but I like to keep a clean hard drive. I am running Win98.

will using Ccleaner permanently remove deleted files? or do i need something else?
im going to be getting a used computer off a friend for a younger cousin of mine for his first computer. im pretty sure my friend has some porn on his computer and i kinda joked to him to delete any pornographic pictures before giving me the computer. im not really worried about my cousin trying to go deep with programs to retrieve anything, but i dont want to take any chances for him to get into trouble in the future. i guess i dont really trust my friend as to the pictures hes been downloading and dont want to take a chance. im getting the computer free so cant beat the price.
ive read that even when pictures are deleted they are not permanently deleted and can still be retrieved.
i would like a way to absolutely permanently remove any deleted files.
i know in Ccleaner you can go to options, settings, "wipe free space drives" for C: but will that do it?
what about Ccleaner, secure file deletion (slower) ..does that do it?
if there are any programs to download i would prefer ones that are not large in size as i only have a dila up connection.

Over time I delete lots of files and folders. I usually use the 'Control-Delete' trick to "permanently" delete the files. However my understanding is that although this method may remove the file reference from the Windows file catalog, they files still may exist on the hard drive. And appropriate tools can recover these lost files. For example, using Recuva, one can see lots of references to files that I had previously deleted using the 'Control-Delete' trick. I would like to delete all of these references. Is there a tool that can scan the system and delete all references to these deleted files? I tried using Ccleaner, but this tool does not delete these references (unless I am using it incorrectly?). Anything else?

Answer:Permanently delete references to deleted files?

CCleaner has this guide on how to do so, the first method detailing how to alter the settings so it does it automatically. The second method is just to wipe the data manually, so you can do it on a case by case basis.

My desktop keeps filling up with files I permanently (shift delete) deleted. Running win 7 Pro, have Seagate Expansion drive, 3 TB, runs Disc Manager, but backup is performed by Windows Backup. Checked event logs to see what's going on when the files are rewritten, nothing unusual. Ran malware bytes. Nothing. Have TrendMicro, fully updated and enabled. Did scan, nothing. Looked in Msconfig for junk loading at startup. Disabled two Seagate programs. Checked Windows backup settings. Disabled Offline files. I have googled this to death! I can always find a solution that way but I am at wits end. Many say this problem occurs after reboot but these files are being rewritten without rebooting .

Help please?

Thank you-

I don't know if this question has ever been asked.

I want to know if anyone knows of a piece of software or a way to clean deleted file entries from directories permanently.

I'm asking because I have downloaded a few freeware and shareware programs and tested them for recovering deleted files. I did get one of them to work and recover the deleted files but the problem is it takes so long to scan the drive and it displays so many results it takes forever to search through them for the files I actually want to recover. So what I want to do is run some software that will clear all deleted file entries from my directory listings permanently (zero them out or something.) This way the next time I have to recover a deleted file the list will be much shorter after scanning the drive.

I have Windows XP Pro installed and have 2 physical drives with a total of 3 partitions. The first drive is formatted with 2 NTFS partitions and the 2nd drive is formatted with 1 FAT32 partition (moved this drive with a lot of data from another PC and don't want to bother reformatting to NTFS.)

Anyways the last time I scanned the E drive (FAT32 - 80GB) it took about ten minutes to scan the drive for recoverable files and listed som 50,000 - 60,000 files that could be possibly be recovered. Even using filters to limit the list I came up with 27,000 JPG files (as I was trying to recover about a dozen JPGs I accidentally deleted.) I was able to find them without an incredible amount of di... Read more

Hi, does any body outhere no of a free file recovery programme that will allow me to restore my files that have been deleted. For some reason last night most of my files within the my documents folder disappeared leaving just the shell folders. I used to use a programme called 'Restoration' (I think) which allowed me to scan my hard drive and I was able to choose and recover deleted files. The problem was made worse because I had all of my downloaded programmes saved in a folder within the my documents folder which of course contained the restoration programme. I have looked on the net to try and find Restoration but with no luck. Does it still exist or has it changed name as I downloaded it over a year ago. Thank you in advance

My non-technical brother bought an external hard drive then "synched" that drive to a folder on his internal hard drive that held (of course) all of the pictures of the kids. He claims he then deleted the folder from his internal hard drive and everything was gone from his external hard drive. Nothing in the recycle bin either.

I've never used an external hard drive, so I don't know if any of what he's saying even makes sense, but the bottom line is that he would like to get out of the doghouse and get the pictures back. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I've heard that no file is ever really erased from your hard drive its really just a matter of how much you want to pay to get it back.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Today I deleted sixteen files that I needed - they weren't sent to the recycle bin as I usually hold down shift and delete together so I don't have to empty the recycle bin often. I know there are many file recovery programs available that you have to pay for, but as I only need to recover around 16 files I was wondering if any of you knew about a deleted file recovery program which was free, even if it was for a limited time. I tried downloading some demos but they either only allowed small files to be recovered or didn't let you recover any files without paying.

The files I deleted were no more than 100k/b, and I use Windows 98 SE. Anybody know of any recover deleted file programs that would help me?

I can open the import in outlook express and find the path where the deleted items.dbx is but it give me an error because I have outlook express open to do this. I found a help topic that said to rename the file deletedold.dbx and it would restore but that didn't work either. Any help???

Answer:Need to recover deleted.dbx files

I understand what you are saying about finding the location of the deleted items.dbx file itself (within the system). Otherwise I'm struggling a bit to understand your question. Can you clarify what has happened and what you are trying to do please?Reading between the lines it appears that you might have deleted some emails from the Deleted Items box and are trying to recover them - is that right? If so, probably the best chance is to do System Restore to a date before that. There are free programs such as Recuva. If you can get the original old dbx file back (properly identified as such) you would then have to copy it on top of the one that now exists in the system, and the emails at that time would then be present in the OE Deleted Items box. When you rename the file deleted items.dbx Outlook Express will promptly create a new replacement file and therefore an empty Deleted Items box will appear in OE.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I have deleted some of my important files by mistake. It is not there in recycle bin as it was cleared by my friend . What I do now? Is there any way to recover it?

Answer:How to recover deleted files?

Hi, first thing is as soon as the files are deleted from the recycle bin their disk space is available to be overwritten. Therefore they may be recoverable, corrupted or unrecoverable.

You can try a program such as Recuva (free)- there are many.
Do not install it on the drive or partition from which you are trying to recover files.

Such programs usually offer two levels of scanning- deep scanning is slow, so specify what to scan carefully.

Obvious lesson: back up.

There are many backup programs at a file level, and then there's the strongly recommended approach of disk imaging.

Disk imaging even allows you to restore Windows if it is unbootable as it was when the image was created- and also to a new hard disk. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + external storage.

Images also act as a full backup- you can extract files too.

Answer:how to recover deleted files

Do a Google search for "File Recovery" and you will find hundreds (actually millions) of links to software that will do what you want. Bear in mind, though, a hard disk that has been in constant use (reading and writing) will have over-written many of the files (or parts of the files) and those will not be recoverable.

Answer:Is it possible to recover deleted files?

There are programs that will recover deleted files, however, there are no guarantees they will recover all of them if any. Try not to use that machine until you find some software you want to try, as the data may be overwritten. O&O Software makes a data recovery tool, though it is not free and I am not sure how effective it is. Good luck.

On one of my laptops I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Usually when I upgrade it automatically creates a Windows.Old folder in my C Drive where I can access all my files from before the upgrade. But this time there was no Windows.Old folder. So I downloaded and ran a file recovery program...it found 0 old deleted files. I ran that same program on a different laptop and it worked fine. So where could the deleted files have went and how can I access them?

Answer:Can't Recover Deleted Files

Upgrades do not delete any files. They would be in the same location as they were when you left them.

If you did not upgrade, but installed a fresh copy of 7, the files are most likely underneath the OS and lost. The installation of the OS uses about twice the drive space that the final installation uses, so everything would have been written over.

Hello,
I realise this problem would be similar regardless of which Windows being used.
I partitioned my HD and moved documents to new partition. Mistakenly removed the partition without restoring files.
Is there any way of recovering the lost files?
Thank You

Answer:recover deleted files

There are some good recovery apps on the market, but I would start with Recuva. It's free and generally does a good job. I use the portable version, but be sure to run it from a drive other than the one you want to recover files from.

Hello
I used to have almost an entire hard drive (50 gb) worth of .wmv files (ripped my dvd collection). I had to delete all of it since I thought I would need the space for other files. That turned out not to be necessary so now I'm wondering if there is a way to get that data back. The entire folder was deleted - I think Windows said it was too big to put in the bin. I did not do any other work on that drive since.

I tried using some popular recovery programs: Recuva, Undelete plus, restore but they don't seem to get a trace of the files. Instead they display some bizzare files which appear to be from a previous windows instalation. Now I find it unlikely that the entire collection of over 100 hundred files would just dissappear without a trace. So maybe I'm doing something wrong or using the wrong software? I'd appreciate a hand.

edit: if you know about affordable commercial software that would do the job feel free to recommend

Oye. Where to start. I had a problem on my comptuer, so I had to reinstall XP. All is well. I have "roaming profiles" set up on a "server" [really is just my profile on a XP Pro machine w/ a big hard drive]. They are on their own partition. I set my new install machine profile point to the place where it should be. I wanted to use it right away and not wait for it to copy the 12gb of My Documents to my computer at the moment, so I moved them to a different folder. I logged on, and did what I wanted to do. Then I moved My Documents back to the profile folder on the server. Logged off of my computer and logged back on. My Documents is GONE! Apparently, since when I logged on there wasn't a My Documents, and when I logged off, it was there, Windows thought it would get rid of it...and it did. I tried several data recovery programs, and only one was able to recover some of my files, but about 90% of them are useless. A document is just a bunch of ??Ya94~9??A ect ect. Pictures are unreadable, music is corrupt. I'm very organized, and have everything set up into folders and sub-folders upon sub-folders ect. I'd like to not have to find out where everything goes, but if all else fails, I guess I could. Its about 12gb, and if there is any way of getting it back, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. I called a guy who does this for a living, $500 flat rate, and if successsful $100/gb. It's not worth that much, but it has a LOT of value ... Read more

Hello,

I accidentally deleted a folder that has many files in my portable drive. They are not in the recycle bin as I set it for immediately deletion. So I purchased a data recovery program online and it found the deleted files. When I restored and opened the files, they were corrupted. Is there a reliable program that can recover the files efficiently? The Internet has so many programs and I don't know which to pick.

Many thanks.

Answer:How do I recover deleted files?

Has anything been copied onto the drive since the deletion? If it has, the locations where the deleted files were may have been overwritten by new files. If this has happened, recovered files will be corrupt, and no recovery software will be able to recover them correctly.

If nothing has been transferred to the drive since the folder was deleted, then it's a disappointment that paid software fails to recover them. Well-regarded recovery programs include Recuva, PcInspector and GetDataBack (paid). Other posters may have other recommendations from their experience.

I had a flash drive with .pdf files among others on it. Once I inserted the drive, the compuer would ask me whether or not I wanted to scan the drive because some errors were found. I chose not to scan it. The drive opened fine. But the next time I inserted the drive and chose not to scan it, the drive opened but half the files were gone. To recover the files, I was recommended to use "virtual Lab" recovery software. This program scanned the drive and found some files and saved them into a folder called "Raw Files". Inside of it there are several folders. One of them is of interest to me as it is called Adobe Acrobat Documents There are .pdf files and they probably are the ones I am looking for but when try to open them with the  Adobe Acrobat reader, the message says that they cannot be opened because            "they were either not supported or, damaged, for example, sent in e-mail and incorrectly decoded"My question: is there anything that could be done to bring these files back to life at this point? E.g. re-docode them, so they are decoded correctly? Thanks!

Answer:Would Appreciate Help to Recover Deleted Files

Simple answer is" No" You have already used a software program to recover some files. That may be as much as you can do. In theory, flash drives are supposed to be very reliable. But many users report they fail more often than they shooed.IMHO the best way to store files is on a good  quality eternal drive. Prices vary.

I deleted my Outlook .pst files and I need to recover; i purchased PC Tools data recovery program but it's not working for me.

At my work place we work on a roaming profile; i had problems loading my profile this morning and what i normally do is reload my profile by deleting my profile and then restarting my machine. I've done this before with no problems but this time it deleted my .pst file. Is there something else I can do to recover or get my .pst file back?

Answer:Recover deleted files

It's possible the filles may still be there. First try to undelete in your recycle bin. If that's a no go, there are a few commercial recovery programs out there. The only way you can possibily undelete files that have already been deleted in the recycle bin is using such a program provided the files have not been overwritten. If you write something to the same disk it doesn't necessarily mean your deleted files have been overwritten.
If a file recovery program doesn't work, they're gone forever.

I have a bad habit of hitting shift+delete to delete files so that I don't have to delete it again in the recycle bin but sometimes I mess up things and delete some files that I don't intend to, with shift+del. What can I do to recover accidentally deleted files in that way? Windows 10 Thank you

Answer:how to recover shift deleted files?

AS I understand it, when any file is deleted by Windows, the directory entry is truncated so the file does not show up again when you run Windows Explorer, but the physical file is still there...and as long as you don't save a new file that could overwrite the old one, it can still be recovered.

I don't think you can do that within Windows itself, but there are a litany of programs out there in web land that claim they can restore deleted files.

There may be better answers, but that's mine.
Good Luck mate!

Hi

I've just re-organised my hard drives and I've set up a batch routine to backup my files, using Robocopy.

However, as I swapped my drives around, I've copied in the wrong direction. Robocopy has consequently deleted entire folders of important data.

The data isn't in the recycle bin.

What should I do to try and recover the data?

Thanks

Answer:Used Robocopy and deleted my files - how can I recover them?

Is the partition unharmed and still visible in Explorer and Windows Disk Managment?

If it's unharmed, I'd consider PhotoRec or Recuva to recover the files. Both are free.

Ontrack Easy Recovery Professional is also said to be excellent, but I think you ultimately have to pay. Maybe $79?? It will show you the files it can recover, but won't let you actually recover them until you pay.

I'm assuming Robocopy doesn't have any type of "undo" capability.

I told my dad not to delete the account because we still had access to the hard drive and files but he deleted it anyway. It created a new user with the same name but none of the files were there. We tried to do a system restore from before the update but the files still weren't there and we got an error message saying the restore failed and the files were unchanged. Is there any way to get my files back that were saved under the account I need them. I use 64-bit.

Answer:Recover Deleted user and files

Hello UltimateHedgehog, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Unfortunately, a System Restore will not affect user files. It's only for system files and instead.

You might check to see if you have a C:\Users\(user name) folder with the old user account name still there. If your Dad only deleted the old user account from within User Accounts in the Control Panel, then it may still be there to copy over to the new account.

Since you have Vista Ultimate, you might also see if you can use Previous Versions with the C:\Users folder to see the old user name folder or files can be restored.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi guys,

My name is Ivan. This is my first post here and I hope I will enjoy this forum.

However right now I'm in big trouble. My brother decided to install some linux distro
on the laptop that we both use. He decided me without asking if I have some important
info there. He told me that he wanted to make a dual boot system (I'm not fully aware how it works)
and he said that he did it before, but now just erased my whole disk by mistake.

I thought that this is some bad joke, but when I checked (I gave the laptop to friend of mine who run live some software to show partitions) the whole disk was emty except some folders of the new OS.

I cant describe how I feel right now. Is there a way something to be saved? He told me that he shuted down the system on the moment he realized what was going on and not even 1% of the new OS was instilled. But the fact is that there is nothing anymore...

Please help guys!
Thanks in advance!

You can use a few of the free software rcovery options to try and recover these BUT if they are deleted then the space they occupied will start to be over-written with new data if they start to save new things, also have a USB pen or different HD to save these images too as again as your recovering the images you maybe over-writing some of the other ones.

Hi, thanks for a great Website, l'm running W7 Ultimate 64bit - here's my problem:

l had to create a new profile for Mozilla Firefox (malware prob) which l saved to my Desktop (bad habit of mine) because l had awful trouble with "bad request page" error when in Ebay ie open new tabs, items, sellers etc, it drove me nuts.

l got rid of most of the malware prob that was affecting Firefox/ebay, so decided to delete my new profile from Firefox and keep the old one, this is when l struck problems:

All my Schematic PDF's and photo folders and several others folders on my desktop disappeared/deleted.

l downloaded a recovery program called "PC Inspector File Recovery" but l couldn't find the said files/folders on the lost or deleted sections of the Drive.

Does it matter if l'm using 64 bit and the recovery Program uses/looks for 8/16/32 fat files?

Is there another way of finding those files/folders? using a different program or W7 itself, l did google for an answer - way too many advertised results to buy S/W and no real answers except for the PC inspector.

No l didn't have these files backed up, could never get my thick head around backing up and trying the recovery when l had XP, so never tried again with W7, so please don't take the blow-torch to me for that oversight/stupidity.

Well l hope thats enough info- so please if you have any clues/answers, l would REALLY glad to hear them.

Hi,
I'm not sure how a Firefox profile would effect your desktop. Are you sure you only created a FF profile and not a Windows user profile? (Could you be looking at a whole new user desktop? Is your name the same on the Start Menu?)

That said, try Recuva which will look for recently deleted files (green light means the files are in good shape). Or Minitool Power Data Recovery (free for home users) which is similar to PC inspecor but might see your files.

Either program you want to copy the files to a different partition or a USB drive so as not to overwrite other files to be recovered.

There are many programs out there that profess to recover such files and may do the job, however most if not all are costly.
Here is a list of many of them. Some allow you do download and try in a view mode to see if the files are recoverable before you buy. I am also moving this thread to WinXP with a subject change so others may spot the problem and maybe have a better suggestion.
Here is the listing I mentioned.

Answer:Recover Deleted Windows 7 Recovery Files from Recovery Drive

You might be able to use a free recovery tool like Recuva or MiniTool Partition Wizard. But there are no guarantees that all deleted files will be recovered or that they will be in a usable condition.

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

MiniTool Partition Recovery

It may be safer to contact HP support and buy a set of recovery disks for your particular machine. I'm taking a guess that you are in India?

Hi, I used Puran to recover some deleted files from my external hard drive and when I open some of the files I get the following message:

"This document could not be registered . It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document."

The documents still fully open and they look like they are all there. Also, when I look at the properties of some of the folders they say there is 0 bytes in them. I did the recovery twice, once selectively with only the files that I thought I needed such as .doc and .pdf, and again with everything including files such as .cab . chm .dwg .hlp .mdf. Two identical recovered folders from each recovery say they have a different amount of data in them.

My question is: are there supporting files that need to be recovered along with the .doc and .pdf files to fix the issues and to make sure i have recovered everything, such as the .cab .chm etc?  I didnt the extra files were necessary but on further research they might be files needed by word. Are they only needed for the program and not individual files?

Thanks for the help!

Answer:When I recover deleted files, are there supporting files also?

Check if the service "DCOM Server Process Launcher" is set to Automatic and running. Start->Run->type Services.msc, scroll down until you find the service. Also check to make sure the "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" service is set to Automatic and running.

Hi,
I got a new PC recently and I upgraded it to W10. I copied all files that I had from old PC into the new one, and I named the file "Windows.old".
Recently, everything had gone. Absolutly everything...
I did some research, in the meantime and I found about that "windows.old" issue that is been around for the new users of Windows 10.
Is there anything I can do to recover the files that, for me were not to be deleted?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Old PC Files that I copied into new PC with W10 were deleted. How can I recover the files?

little bit silly naming it the same as windows would use as a temp upgrade. Personally would have called it something else. doubt the files are recoverable unless you run recovery software on the drive and see if it returns.

hello guys, got a problem
my ex got into my aptm and deleted some folders (my pictures folder) from my pc, tried to goto recycler but they are not there so i think she deleted from there too...

anyway to get those files back?.....

Thank you.

Answer:[SOLVED] Can i recover files deleted from the recycle bin

Yes. Don't delete anything else though as you may over write them. The files in the recycled bin aren't actually deleted, but rather Windows stops indexing them. Download Recuver and run it.

After completing recovery process i realize that i have forge-ten to take the back up of those important files. Therefore is there any way where i can recover my important files. The important folder contains nearly 20GB.Please reply as soon as possible.

Answer:Recover deleted files in vista- Need Help ASAP

Well, if the saved data was overwritten with the new install of Vista, not likely recoverable without spending a ton of money. There is a possibility of recovery otherwise. I ran Win Tuneup 2004 "Remove Junk Files" utility. I scanned my computer and clicked "delete all checked enteries".

The utility ran for approx. 60 seconds. It deleted 22 major file folders and all subfolders including "My Documents".

Answer:Recover deleted Adobe In Design files

I sent an email to them. This was a utility I downloaded as Shareware from MajorGeeks.com-- so I don't know how high of a priority I'll be for Wintuneup getting back to me.

I followed the instruction in this URL because I expierneced the error message.
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=261302

The file that I deleted were:

Wsnmp32.dll, Ntprint.dll, Tcpmib.dll, Mgmtapi.dll, or Snmpapi.dll.

Now when I click "Add a printer" I received this error :

"Operation Could not completed", Which I had no such problem before deleting the files above.

How can I replace the deleted files with new one ? (Can I downlod them ?)

Answer:Deleted dll files creating problem how recover them new one

try to do a repair on windows, it might reconize the printer .dll files and maybe put them back in.
If you dont know how to run a repair, when putting through bios hit "r" untill the repair screen apears. You must have the OS cd in the drive.

Try that and see what happens.

Phil
