Issue with YouTube website in Edge

Question: Issue with YouTube website in Edge

Hi!
I am facing a weird issue with the YouTube website on the Edge browser. When I bought the laptop a month ago, it was working fine until two days back. My McAfee AV trial, which was bundled with the laptop, ran out and I uninstalled it. Since then only the YouTube website is looking all scrambled up. Please take a look at the attached screenshot;
What could be the issue? Any solutions for this? Ironically, the YouTube site is working fine in Internet Explorer. Please help!

Preferred Solution: Issue with YouTube website in Edge

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm sure many of you have noticed probably the past month, anytime you visit youtube, you get an annoying blue banner at the top recommending you install chrome. Now with the recent youtube update, edge performs even worse on youtube.
It runs much better on insider build 16278, but on creators update 1703 it's pretty bad.
What do you think?

I am currently experiencing a problem where YouTube does not play in Edge.
I had a problem with IPlayer but enabling Flash Player solved this so it would appear that it is not Flash Player that is causing the problem.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Unable to play YouTube videos in Edge browser atm...all I get is the audio and no picture...just a black box. Other video streaming sites working fine and YouTube videos play fine in chrome. Interestingly, videos will play if you toggle "Use Adobe Flash Player" between videos - I turn Flash off and then the video plays, I then go to click on the next video and it won't play until I turn Flash back on again, then I have to turn it off again for the next video and so forth.
Anyone else had/having this problem and know how to fix it?

I was trying to figure out why is YouTube not playing on the browser of Microsoft Edge. I have read different articles online trying to solve this problem. With Google Chrome YouTube is working with no problem but not Microsoft Edge. Is there a reason why can't YouTube run on the Microsoft Edge browser. I did try to fix one part and still the same. The one is from Microsoft Help. And here is below:

This might fix Edge as well. Not positive.

1: Open Internet Explorer.
2: Click the Tools button and go to Internet Options.
3: On the Advanced tab, browse to the Accelerated graphics section.
4: Select: Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering.
5: Click Apply & OK.
6: Restart your computer and test it.

I did check in the box with " Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering. Still no help.

What is the other alternative to fix this problem?

Thank you,

John

Ok this is really weird but I was watching a video on Youtube normally, I closed the window before the video had finished and now every time I open youtube.com on Microsoft edge, after about 5 seconds (about the time it takes to load a video) the first few seconds of that video play then it stops. What makes this worse is that it is actually the first few chords of a horror track on a video game, so not something I can ignore. :/ This only happens on the Youtube homepage, even after restarting my computer and it does not occur on google chrome. I have no idea what to do.

Answer:Microsoft edge: Youtube error

This might be worth a shot. Try clicking on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of Edge, and choose settings. Then go to Clear Browsing Data, Choose What To Clear. You could try the top three boxes one by one by placing a tick in them (they're pre-ticked on mine) or just do all three together.

For example, In the screenshot, nothing is displayed on the area where video is to be played. Also, YouTube videos are not playing only In edge and seems to play well in IE, chrome. I'm trying to play a video from the site and I get this error message:Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player. I got the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player any help??

Answer:Youtube website

Go to Internet Explorer options, and click on the Security tab. Verify Internet is highlight, and select Medium as the security level. Also, are you running any firewalls or other Internet security software? This is the most likely cause of the problem as such applications block scripting.

I keep getting the message, " An error occurred. Please try again later"

Answer:Why can't I watch Youtube videos on Microsoft Edge?

This message is usually associated with unstable Internet connection or low bandwidth, or that the video is simply not available at the moment. I could watch YouTube videos from the Microsoft Edge in my Windows 10 PC with no problems.
Have you tried restarting your PC, or clearing your Internet cache?

It Takes About 3-8 Seconds To Apply The Input. (If I Click The Pause Button It Takes 4 Seconds To Apply) Is There Any Fix To This?
I Tried.
Turning On Software Rendering
Enabling VP6
Restarting Computer
Updating Drivers

Answer:Youtube Late Input Microsoft Edge.

Check Windows Update there maybe a patch for edge that may resolve the rendering issues you are having.
Also you can you use something like Metrotube or myTube! :) via the windows store.

I'm using Edge on my Windows 10 laptop and I can't disable the autoplay of videos in YouTube. If I right click and open a video in a new tab it starts playing automatically, which I don't want. Disabling autoplay doesn't prevent this.
If I disable "autoplay" and a video finishes, it will automatically autoplay the next video. Again this isn't what I want. This doesn't happen in other videos.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Thanks

Answer:Can't disable autoplay of videos in Youtube on Edge

Autoplay works fine for me. If I turn it off it, youtube doesn't automatically skip to another video. As for the other tabs, I think that hasn't been coded yet in Edge. Could be wrong

I can watch the same videos on Edge but not Firefox. Thus, I googled to see why. People were talking about Firefox uses HTML5 instead of Flash, misses plugins and extensions..... However, I just bought a brand new computer with Windows 10 a few days ago and installed Firefox. Why is a Youtube video still showing black screen without any button to be clicked on, if buffering time is an issue? I have not installed my usual programs but only one. Can someone explain? Thanks

Answer:Can't view Youtube videos on Firedfox but Edge

Do you have the Firefox Flashblock addon installed ???

The problem is that I know the tv can play .mkv files ( from USB devices, Samsung link, and all that). Also when I'm in Edge and hit cast to device on my TV on youtube it does that same thing !
Cast to device only works on facebook pictures, .avi files and mp4 files. Please help - I've been searching the whole internet for an answer and I can't find it !

all , infact EVERY website i open in explorer is centralised, when in maximum dislpay, and minimum.

but youtube is alway aligned to the left.

i have un-installed ie9, reinstalled, disk wiped, cache wiped, wiped browser cache, everything, even been in contact with youtube themselves, no joy.

i thought it had something to do with 'ZOOM' ... so i zoomed in, and out ... when zoomed to normal 100% it shifts over to the left, very bizzare !

i have included i 'snipping image to show'

thanks in advance,

Interesting to me.
Using win 10 Edge browser, the video is smooth even at 720p full screened, while chrome at 480p is not smooth but a little jerky. I have also installed the nvidia 64 bit 8.1 windows video driver 309 from Nvidia site.
1080p is too much as it jerks in both browsers and the MB fan speeds up more than it speeds up with 720p.

Why is it so much better on edge?, it looks perfect on edge. Likely some will never notice as they have more powerful video cards I suppose. There are a lot of embedded 6150 video card on mb out there.

The PC also plays DVD discs fine with VLC player.

Answer:nvidia 6150 onboard works better with edge vs chrome on youtube

Get your facts straight:
GeForce 6150 1.33% out of DirectX 9 Shader Model 2b and 3.0 GPUs 0.95% @ Steam hwsurvey - that would be 0.012635%?
And your expectations of a 2005-2006 weakest on-mainboard card that has been (finally) discontinued.
I don't think that that 1st gen decoding chip was ever able to process fluently 1080p-anything (maybe mpeg2, but not a chance with h264 since even 7k series struggled with it).

IMO, Edge is still a work in progress and not ready for prime time. At least on the desktop its not good. Ads kills the experience. But for you, drop google dns and see if it works any better.

I am unable to actually upload pictures to flickr. Like when I click the "Choose files to upload" nothing happens, no box allowing me to choose the files in explorer appears and nothing happens. I have tired with adblock on and adblock off and it makes no difference. Also when trying to play games within facebook. The games do not load or nothing appears.
Its like as if the adblock is on but there is no adblock on. When right clicking it shows that the flash plugin/extension is running but not the product. This only started when i installed windows 8 consumer. The developer build did not have the issue. I also have tried Chrome, Firefox, and Internet explorer and all errors/issues are reproduced.

I have a website, I am trying to get to work in edge. I made a website, and it is hosted on my internal server via apache running on Mandriva Linux 2010.1, on virtual box, on Windows 10 (which is the physical machine's OS).

I tested this website in Internet Explorer, by going to the main page, opening it in Internet Explorer, and then clicking the hyperlink to go there. It works from there. I tested in firefox and chrome, and it works there too. But it won't work from edge.

I found out the reason: edge is coded to make the page redirect from http to https, and I don't want it to run over https, and it is not set up to run over https. What trick either in my webserver or in edge's configuration can I use to get around this? Or if that's not possible could you tell me how to get the same content working over https, without having to deal with certificates or anything, and no warnings about certificate errors? https is not really needed for this website, because it's just a list of hyperlinks to other pages.

Hi all,

I have a website and am going to do a video soon. I have a couple quick questions..

-When I sign up for a youtube account, should I use my website Company email or does it matter?

-after I have signed up, how do I point the video to my website and will it show on the bottom of the video? or how do you do that?

Thanks..

Answer:Solved: Setting up a YouTube Account, how do you show your website URL?

The email you use doesn't matter as long as you monitor replies.
I'm not sure what you mean by "point the video to my website." You can use annotations to insert the url, or you can embed the video or a link in your site. What are you trying to accomplish?

Answer:HI, is there any safe tool or website which can download youtube videos?

Assuming your question is one allowed by the BC rules, I can tell you clipconverter.cc does all the things you listed.

It has caused me no problems I've been able to ascertain after many uses. It won't convert videos if it detects music in them however. Sometimes this includes the theme song at the start. You might be able to fix that by choosing a start point after the music, but that's something I haven't tried.

Converto.io works too, but you can't select a segment. You can do that after DL with any video editor. The old Windows Movie Maker is pretty easy.

Connection is fine, can get anything else I want.  Firewall is not on as I'm running Eset.  Diagnostics is as useless as ever and says it can't determine the problem as usual.

HOWEVER, if I use the Microsoft Edge browser, no problem - straight to Coles.
Anyone hazard a guess as to why this is the case?
thanks

My problem is I find MS Edge does not always react the same to sites that have appear to have website certificate error problems.

The following two url's are basically for the same site, due to a change in the name of the government department at some or other stage.

Daily State of Dams

Daily State of Dams

Both sites offer a facility where one can display data accessed from a database in a map form. One can display the latest data for the most recent date in the data base which always works. But on the one site (the official new site DWS Landing Page), choosing a previous date to the latest on will just display a place holder instead of the map,

yet on the older site, it will display a website certificate error message, which then allows one to proceed anyway and then get the map.

Can anyone offer an explanation why this is please? in other words why does MS edge not routinely display the error message instead of a place holder?

Further, using another browser such as Chrome will offer one an option to display the image in a separate window which then allows one to see the image. This facility is not available in MS Edge. Any reason why not?

Hello All,
Since yesterday I have been issues with Edge, where this happens every 5 minutes where it hangs then auto refreshes than shows the error below (on the left) either that or the page fails to load completely after appearing to load.
On the left Edge, on the right Firefox (which is still a memory hog ).
Any one else having the same issues?
The only thing that changed was I had to reinstall HP's AMD W8 drivers under compatibility mode; furthermore installing the latest WU updates did not resolve this issue.

Answer:Edge - website loading issues

Exactly !! I also have same issues for Edge and really irritated due to these issues.

Hi.  Brand new computer, 4 days old.  Still loading it up with stuff from my old laptop.  Removed Norton with the removal tool and installed Eset Smart Security.  Very little else installed yet.

I need to go to the Australian retailer Coles reasonably often.  Chrome is my preferred browser.  When I try to get to the website I get:-

www.coles.com.au unexpectedly closed the connection.

Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics

When using any version of IE Explorer, when viewing a webpage and want to create a desktop shortcut to that webpage I would simply right click just about anywhere on the webpage and select Create Desktop Shortcut from the drop-down Menu and Presto a new icon shortcut would appear on the desktop.

However, when using MS- Edge, when I Right Click on any webpage all I get is a small drop down-down menu with no selection to create a Desktop Shortcut. Please don't tell me that MS has removed this feature in Edge and I am just missing something or there is a flaw in my system. I have tried every which way to create a Desktop Shortcut of something I am viewing when using Edge to no avail.

Answer:Creating Desktop Shortcut To Website When Using MS Edge

I'm with you on this one!
So far the only way I have found is to add the page to a reading list by clicking the Star at top right, selecting Reading List and then Add.
It's not ideal but it's better than nothing.

Another roundabout way is:
While viewing your wepage in Edge,

Click the three dots at top right
Choose Open with Internet Explorer

Now you can create your shortcut as you were used to. The shortcut will open in Edge if that's your default browser.

Just recently Edge has been giving me an error message stating "There is a problem with this site's security certificate" when I try to log onto my work site remotely. I know the site well, have spoken to their IT department and have been assured the certificate is up to date. I have verified my computer has the correct date and time. I have tried accessing the site with MS IE with the same results. There is an option to ignore the warning and proceed anyway, but nothing happens when I click it. Fire Fox allows me to get to the website and log in, but then it seems Citrix will not allow me to access the content. I had previously been able to access the site and its content with Edge. I am not aware that anything has changed on my computer and the IT department for the site I am trying to access notes that they are not having any problem with remote access when they personally log on, and have not received any other calls about problems. They note multiple users are currently logged on. They insist the problem is in my computer. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am currently running W10 Pro version 1511 on a Dell machine with Intel Core i7 920 @2.67GHz and 8.00 GB RAM. 64 bit system. I use both Fire Fox and MS Edge as browsers both of which are up to date.

Hello everyone,

First post here and thanks for allowing me to be a part of the community!

My first question is while attempting to pin a website to the task bar in Edge I followed the directions and selected the "3 dots menu" and then selected "open with IE" option as instructed.

When I click on the webpage icon in the task bar the site indeed comes up but it is in Internet Explorer rather than Edge. Is there any way I can pin the site to the task bar and have it launch in Edge rather than IE? I understand it opens in IE because I opened the website in Edge and then told it to open with IE.

When I tried pinning the tab to the task bar in Edge I got the universal red circle with the line through it so I couldn't pin it unless I opened it in IE.

Ive noticed when I pin a website to the Start Menu that it will open in Edge. Is it not possible to have this happen by using the task bar?

Thanks so much for your help.

Appreciate interacting with you folks very much.

best,

rick

I ran the recent update for Windows 10 and since then when I click on Edge and do a search it comes up with a list of websites ok. However when I click on one of the links to open it I get "Hmm, we can't reach this page. Try this: make sure you have right address or refresh page." All links were working fine before I ran the update. I have exactly the same problem with my daughter's laptop. All searches work fine on anything not using Windows 10. Any ideas??

I put about ten shortcuts onto my desktop, such as ones for eBay, Google, Amazon, etc.; however, they all have Edge's standard blue icons. This makes the whole group appear as a monolithic bunch of icons that all look the same and not so easy to read. Is there a way to change these desktop icons to the various websites' favicons, making them easier to see/read/use?

I think that you can right-click a shortcut, then choose "Properties," then click on "Change Icon." However, from there, I'm stuck, because it offers me the option of browsing to the icon I want, but I don't know how to get to any favicon that I might want.

It's easy to find those websites' favicons, using Google images, and I can then save them onto my desktop, but I don't know how to get them from there onto their relevant shortcuts. I think there is a cache, called something like "shell32.icon" or whatever, which holds icons, but I'm not sure if that's anything I want to mess with, because I'm fully aware that messing with those kinds of files can lead to disastrous results, such as the computer freezing up, the 'blue screen of death,' etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A friend with a Lenovo i7 P50 Thinkpad with Win 10 factory installed. Creators Update installed via Windows Update a few weeks ago. Called me last week reporting that he could no longer view web pages using Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or IE. I checked event viewer and saw one of his music creation programs was using a proxy server that was failing. I uninstalled the program and he was able to access web sites for a week, then yesterday the problem came back but no related errors in event viewer. Opening up a CMND window I could ping and tracert any web site without problems. His e-mail works. team viewer works. The web browsers will not connect, hang sometimes, and when closed and exited can still be seen running under task manager or process explorer. I get an error message saying the program can not be terminated when I try to kill it with process explorer or task manager. I ran a half dozen or more antivirus / malware programs which only come up with PUP's and one or two malware not related to this problem. NO proxy settings seen in the browser / internet settings. Running ipconfig /flushdns /release /renew doesn't help either. Suggestions appreciated. - Steve

Answer:Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and IE all fail to connect to any website

I can't see any listing of Edge or Windows 10 in the Browser/Operating System reports in Google Analytics-- for my personal website or my job's website.
Is this a MS issue or Google issue? Maybe both?
Thanks!

Analytics lists it as a Chrome browser so in a few days 90% of the world will have switched to Chrome and IE will have 0 market share.

The asp.net website is configured to use Integrated Windows Authentication and hosted locally on IIS\localhost.
When I try to access this website the windows authentication pop-up appears.
Moreover no chance to remember my credentials. If I restart Edge and open this website than authentication form appears
again.
At IE and Chrome the user is automatically authenticated without any windows authentication form, no issue.

In addition to that I played with "Internet Options\Local Intranet" and "Internet Options\Trusted sites"
and "Logon options" ("Automatically logon only on Intranet zone", "Automatically logon with current user name and password". Nothing helped.

Any ideas how to suppress this annoying authentication dialog?

I have a brand new E520 that will not connect to most websites while using the built in wireless adapter (or any wireless adapter). It only connects to google.com websties.  This is true for iexplorer, firefox, and chrome.  Also, I can ping www.google.com when I use the command line, but if I ping anything else, the request just times out.  If I plug in directly to the router with an ethernet cable, I can access any website with no problem.  Yet, when I am plugged in via ethernet, I still cannot ping other websites (despite being able to access the same ones using a browser). I've tried:-turning off windows firewall-uninstalling norton antivirus (and installing avast)-Installing, and then uninstalling the ThinkVantage wireless managment software (forget the exact name).-using a seperate USB WIFI adapter (with all other network adapters disabled) Still can't get it to work.  Any suggestions?

Question: YouTube Issue.

I've noticed recently that some (music) video's I've previously watched in either 360p or 480p are now only available in 240p.
Is there a way to find out if this problem is with YouTube or with my PC ?
I use Windows XP Home.

Answer:YouTube Issue.

Given that none of those resolutions are HD, even with basic graphics you pc should play them fine, so is likely a server side issue, but you can make absolutely sure by writing down the exact url's and then watch them at a friends computer and see if all the choices are available

Question: Youtube Issue

Hi ,for the past 3 weeks at various times when waiting for a Youtube video to appear,a thin red line appears at the top of my screen just below the Chrome browser search bar (see pic I made below). The line usually scrolls across my screen when I have clicked on another video and I'm waiting for it to appear,as if it's a loading symbol.

This line does not always appear though, one day it's there next it isn't and so on.. .it also doesn't seem to correlate with the length of time I'm waiting for Youtube to load.I've tried searching about, thinking it might be some new Youtube changes or glitches but haven't found any information regarding this.

Any help or info would be most appreciated..Thanks

Answer:Youtube Cookie ISSUE PLZ HELP

For internet explorer check your privacy settings and the level of security for it.
Choose medium or low to allow most cookies from third party websites.
Chrome go to tools and check advanced settings look at privacy and look at the one that says cookies.

Also if windows prompts you to save or cache any cookies from internet email services or media sites tell it no.
Keeps it from building up over time and causing a old visited page to pop up at times and not valid for that current day.

Just recently I've noticed when I play a youtube video in chrome while its loading the video is off sync and laggy when its done loading it is fine.

I've tested in IE and in FF and I don't have this issue at all, it's only chrome. Not sure if it does it on lower HD settings as I have an addon that enables auto HD and did the same for FF and Just set the video to 1080P fast in IE before it was done loading.

Anyone got any tips to get rid of this? It's not any other addons as I have removed them and disabled etc and still the same thing happens, restarted PC etc.

Also to not that the video is loaded far enough to not buffer etc. Usually at 1/4 to half by the time the video even starts.

Using Firefox (latest updated) youtube stops working after a while. Links to videos stop responding or the page won't load at all. I uninstalled flash player and reinstalled latest version. Still having the problem. Attempting to go to youtube.com results in the page trying to load forever with no results. All other sites load very fast. 16mbps broadband connection. If I reboot, firefox will load youtube but after browsing a bit, the problem returns. This problem started immediately after the last firefox updates. This isn't the first time I've had issues after updating firefox. I originally switched to firefox because I was sick of the issues with IE. Makes me want to switch back.

So far this only seems to be a problem with firefox. IE loads youtube just fine. .

Hello, everyone!

I'm Shaho, a new member of the forums. I'd like to thank you guys in advance for carrying out such a service as you are doing here.

I have issue with Internet playback. Here's my current understanding of the issue and what this issue entails:
YouTube videos won't load, stop loading halfway through, play with no sound, play with no video - a plethora of different cases happening randomly.
I noticed a few times that AMD card warnings popped up, saying that my GPU has crashed.
When I change some enhancements and channels around in the playback properties, sound is reinstated temporarily in videos, but only after a browser restart.
My broadband speeds are 50Mbps and it is stable. I'm seeing stable 6.2MB/s in downloads, proving 50Mbps.
This issue is on a laptop with on-board graphics. Probably irrelevant, but it's a few years old now.
Same issue does not persist on other devices on the network, including SMART LG TV, other laptop with similar specs, mobile devices and tablets.
Sometimes audio reappears a few minutes into a video. (Rarely)
I've reformatted my PC with no difference in playback; all drivers installed perfectly.
No malware/viruses/worms.
Playback issues persist with YouTube, but only sound issues with other stream sources.

I appreciate all your help, and hope that we can resolve it together. Thanks. :3
