Kaspersky free antivirus uses remote connection?

Question: Kaspersky free antivirus uses remote connection?

Installled kaspersky free antivirus and i have comodo secure shopping. When i open comodo secure shopping it displays that there is a remote connection that can watch my pc so i turned of kaspersky free antivirus and now it works fine without any notifications. But if i enable kaspersky free antivirus and open secure shopping it again displays that there is a remote connection.

your ssl connection can be sniffed by unauthorized people. Do you want to bypass it with TOR?

Also it also shows "the certificate issuer kaspersky antivirus personal root certificate is not an accredited authority

Preferred Solution: Kaspersky free antivirus uses remote connection?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hi gents
i want to know the difference between kaspersky antivirus and kaspersky free . and what about this combo(KFA+ZAM premium+APPcheck free)+Malwarebyte antimalware on demand scanner . is KAV has antiphsing protection ??

Answer:Difference between Kaspersky Free and Kaspersky Antivirus

the only difference between KAV and KAF is that KAV has system watcher = behavior blocker. system watcher is one of the most powerful weapons of kaspersky that's why they charge you for that
they both have phishing protection

your combo looks OK to me. I can recommend that
but I don't agree with Malwarebytes because it seems redundant to me. zemana as the second opinion scanner is sufficient enough. It's realtime protection is different from its on-demand scanner. You will get better result with on-demand scanning than the realtime protection

Hello,

I'm really like kaspersky products, but sometimes get me angry
So what you ask:

Pro:
- Light on system (yes in fact it is)
- Good signatures
- Really good Cloud
- Good virus removal ability
- Good web protect

Cons:
- No behavior block (but has heuristic)
- Ads sometimes
- Good alternative for Windows Defender but not paid or other free AV.
- Protection is good enough just for advanced users only i think.

After it was only available in Russian, Kaspersky released their free antivirus globally.

It is the same antivirus engine as their paid product, and supposed to be light on resources.

You can get it from Kaspersky site kaspersky.com | free-antivirus

I am using windows 10 on my HP desktop. I currently use MES but am unable to access certain games, puzzles on GameScene (ie) . I thought perhaps changing my antivirus would remedy this situation. is Kaspersky antivirus totally free for download on home computer?

Answer:Is Kaspersky antivirus totally free for my home computer?

Err.. MES, presumably you mean MSE but known as "Windows Defender" on Windows 10. If that is preventing access to games and puzzles then most likely there is something wrong with them. MS Windows Defender is usually quite docile. You didn't ought to be looking for an anti-virus that lets them through if they are dubious. As for Kaspersky, as far as I am aware they don't do a totally free version, only a free trial. There are free AV's around, such as Bitdefender, but as I said that doesn't sound like the right way to go for your game problems. What exactly happens when you try to access them and is there some reason you suspect Windows Defender is implicated?Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Saw the news on Malwarebytes Forums (posted by sman), and decided that it was too good to not share.Kaspersky has been toying with a free version of its widely respected antivirus solution for a while now on the company's own Dev Builds server.Recently, the company released Kaspersky Free to the public. While not the first free product that Kaspersky has released, it is the first free full-blown antivirus solution the company has released. The main caveat at this time is that the product has only been released official in Russia and the Ukraine. While that is the case, downloads don't seem to be geo-restricted at this point in time. Please note though that the interface is mostly in Russian which is problematic if you don't speak the language considering that it is usually a good thing to understand what a security message means before reacting to it.Also, you may run into activation issues if you run the program in a region that is not Russia or Ukraine. If that is the case, features are limited until those issues are resolved (for instance by using a VPN).Source: http://www.ghacks.net/2016/01/14/kaspersky-free-antivirus-released/I expect big things from Kaspersky's free Antivirus to be honest. Can't wait for the English release. It's the second company now that releases a free version of their products (Sophos being the first).

Sometimes when I open up Firefox (in Sandboxie) I get a warning from KIS - SSL connection with invalid certificate detected.

These are the 3 certificates that I've seen fire the message:

secure.informaction.com
Issuer: Let's Encrypt Authority X

*.us-west.moz.works
*.cdn.mozilla.net
Issuer: DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA

*.google.com
Issuer: Google Internet Authority G2

I always select "disconnect" and it doesn't seem to affect my web browsing. Has anyone else seen this? I've read that KIS isn't compatible with Sandboxie, so maybe that's the issue?

I also use DNSCrypt, not sure if that is complicating this further.

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Kaspersky Antivirus 2017 - SSL connection/invalid certificates

I think K2017 (even after patch C) still has some compatibility issues with SandBoxie, I'm also getting secure connection issue if I try to open FF with SB, but Chrome seems to works well even getting also a warning...

Try to disable DNSCrypt temporally, but I'm not using it and getting also the secure connection issue in FF + SB...

Family member installed AntiVirus 2010 can see in 'remove programs'

I'm using TeamViewer's Remote Desktop Feature & tried to run Rkill & AntiMalware bytes which was 'intercepted' (error message) by virus.

The pre-installed Eset Smart Security finds 1 infected file but can't clean it.

Please excuse grammar/ typos as am currently connected to this computer via remote connection. Will it make a difference running Rkill & Malware Bytes (also A-Squared Free) in Safe Mode? or will the error message reoccur? I would try safe mode though the only member computer literate enough to start in safe mode & get out of safe mode is currently snowed in. I know you might think it easy to use f8 etc when computer starts though AntiVirus 2010 has disabled (! exclamation mark in device manager) the keyboard - tried deleting & reinstalling driver to no avail.

Whilst I wait for Eset Scan to end my question is will RKill & Malware Bytes actually work in Safe Mode?

Answer:AntiVirus 2010 removal via TeamViewer Remote Connection

2nd UPDATE

I tried the F-Secure, BitDefender & A-Squared Online Scanners & subsequently the connection to IE was cut.

I will try SafeMode with Networking next time when another member is over & hopefully I can update the installed scanners & use them in safe mode. If this isn't successful would it be possible to use a VPN connection (again TeamViewer) to scan their computer files using the scanner programs on my computer, would this risk speading the virus to me (I have the same Eset Smart Security as part of a 3 licence pack)?

Which antivirus to put a bunch of SpyShelter Premium +Windows Firewall Control(binisoft) ?
Win7 x64 Other ? Thanks

Answer:BitDefender Antivirus Free vs Avast Antivirus Free vs Avira Antivirus Free

Resource Usage (eg: CPU, RAM): draw, with the indication of Avira, since BitDefender takes overall a little bit less of CPU time, but consumes much more RAM.
Level of Protection and Features (eg: Antivirus , Firewall, Behavior Blocker): Avira has more features, configuration options and is generally more effective when it comes to the malware detection (Proactive and Reactive).
Overall Winner: Avira.
Edit: I've just noticed, that you've added Avast - as the third contestant - to BitDefender and Avira. Still Avira is the winner here. Avast is not too hungry for PC resources and perhaps has more features, but its engine is not so good, and its detection ratio usually lags behind both: BitDefender and Avira.

Sophos Home Free Antivirus vs Panda Free Antivirus 2016. Which one do you pick and why?

Answer:Sophos Home Free Antivirus vs Panda Free Antivirus 2016

I have to say that I haven't tried Sophos until now. But my opinion about Panda goes like this.

Resource Usage (eg: CPU, RAM)?Panda is efficient in both of them, but during scans it may use more CPU resources

Real World System Impact?Quiet Low

User Friendliness? 5/5

User Interface? 5/5

Level of Protection and Features (eg: Antivirus , Firewall, Behavior Blocker)?4/5
Overall Winner? Since i haven't tried Sophos I cannot give verdict for the best between the two.

Thankyou And Happy New Year.

I have Microsoft Security Essentials. I have gotten enough malware that I feel it could use some supplementation. Immunet's website is explicit on being compatible with MSE, AVG, AVAST, Avira, Norton, Mcafee, and others. http://support.immunet.com/tiki-rea...Id=4#Officially_Supported_Anti_Virus_Packages

I didn't see anything about compatibility on the ClamWin website, but it seems like it would have to be in order for Immunet to be compatible.

There is a ClamWin Free Antivirus website which makes no mention of Immunet. The ClamAV website on the other hand directs windows users to Immunet rather than to ClamWin Free Antivirus.

I like the options for protecting e-mail. I just realized Microsoft Security Essentials does not protect Microsoft Outlook Express. How brilliant!

Any comments on the pros and cons of those programs are extremely welcome.

ClamAV is a horrible solution for most people, unless they have added a realtime scanner since I last checked it out.

Hey im pretty new here.. as you all can see

Before I start, wish to say thx to the folks who run this site and keeping it free of course =). I've been using Norton Systemworks 2002 and regularly updating it. But a while back, I've started using System Mechanic 5 Pro and was impressed as it has increased my comp's performance tremendously. System Mechanic do offer an antivirus program but since I've Norton, i thought of not using it.

A week ago, I decided to try the antivirus program in System Mechanic after a friend suggested it was well worth it. It was great and should have made the change a long time ago. But this is where the problem starts... after installing Kaspersky Antivirus (the Antivirus program offered by System Mechanic Pro), I decided to delete Norton Systemworks 2002 completely and rely on System Mechanic, after making the switch and did a full scan on my comp using the new antivirus program, it found 5 viruses in my comp, pretty minor but it gave me a shocked as to why Norton Antivirus couldnt detect it .... hmm.

So then with those viruses removed, and a few registry fixes and cleaning system junk, I've started getting this wierd problem. When i run a few programs like Windows Media Player 10, Gunbound (game) or even surfing websites like hotmail.com and windowsupdate.com ... i get this error box:

[font=verdana, arial, helvetica]I have an extremely annoying problem with the Remote Desktop in WinXP over a WLAN connection.

My Remote Desktop is often in the mood of not keeping its connection properly, and it then has to reconnect for some seconds (1-30 seconds) and during this time some things seem to freeze on the remote computer, most noticably Winamp - which pauses playing during this time.

(The remote computer is an old Dell desktop computer running Winamp playing files from its own hard drive and out through an USB sound card, and I'm sitting at a newer IBM laptop connected via WLAN to a D-Link router wired to the remote computer. Both run WinXP Pro SP2.)

I find it extremely stupid that the programs on the remote computer can freeze due to something that doesn't have to do with them at all, but the main question is why Remote Desktop randomly loses connection in the first place.

The reconnections/freezes really seem to happen at random - Sometimes it's less than a minute between them, often 5-10 minutes, sometimes several hours or a whole day without problems. Sometimes I'm running lots of filesharing programs etc on the remote computer and sometimes I don't, sometimes I reboot more often just to be sure, but I still see no pattern whatsoever. It's sooo frustrating, and it's really killing me!

OS: Windows 2K, Pro (with all updates)
System: old PII connected (ethernet to hub) to newer PIII.

Problem: Ever since enabling Internet Connection Sharing with the other PC on my home network I keep finding "rasautou.exe" dialing out to my ISP. It does this every two minutes, 24 hours a day. It only does it when I enable Internet Connection Sharing within the "properties" of the dialup connection.

The other PC does not auto dial when it is connected direct (modem connection). Only if I enbale the sharing does it then try to connect (through the other unit). WHen I disable the sharing then both units just sit quietly waiting for a human to command them to dial out, as they should. When I enable sharing then the unit doing the sharing begins dialing out automatically every 2 minutes (it connects, does some business, disconnects then 2 minutes later connects, does some business, disconnects). I can't tell what the he.. it is is doing, all I see is some traffic (modem log).

Further: In an attempt to stop it (or isolate) I renamed "rasautou.exe" but another copy appeared soon thereafter. I now have three or four copies of various names. It won't go away!

How do I tell what the root cause is for rasautou.exe dialing out automatically, constantly? Again, it appears to be the "remote" computer that is calling the "local" rasautou.exe to dial out.

The engineers here want a more reliable method of getting control of the machines in a production line for service without using vnc, because it is a service and the computer has to be able to start and log into windows under a user for it to work, not to mention customers might screw with it.
I'm looking for something like remote desktop that runs on windows 2000 professional, the cost for server is prohibitive because these machines are meant to be chaper than regular models (hence the lack of a built in console). Any help would be awesome

They would have access to network, usb etc, but it would be kind of ungainly to bring a monitor and keyboard to the site, they are hoping to just plug in a laptop with a crossover or something.

Answer:Remote Console connection to Windows 2000 Pro (a la remote desktop)

The only way to remotely get "console" access to a Win2kPro GUI is thru VNC,PCAnywhere or any other 3rd party software.

Have you considered upgrading the workstation(s) to XP Pro?

The only other option you will have is thru a remote KVM system.

What are you think about kav

Answer:Kaspersky AntiVirus??

It will be enough if you don't push it to the limits. If you go there and here downloading non reputable software, if you use keygens or many unsafe applications you may get infected. If you have safe surfing habits, a properly configured web browser; and Windows Firewall enabled you should be good.

Hi. I just viewed Kari Finn's clearly explained Remote Desktop Connection on Win10 and how to connect to remote computer, thank you for that. Good job! In my case though, I use Win XP Home edition. Do I have to have Win XP Pro edition to connect on RDC to Win 10 host using Hyper-V virtual creation?
Also, if that is the case, how can I reboot my remote computer XP OS and get onto the Start Up Menu page? The keyboard command is released to my Win 10 host computer on start up and I don't have access to keyboard commands (such as F8) until Win XP has been fully booted up. How do I access that Start Up menu page otherwise?
This would be helpful for me to know. Thanks.

Answer:Remote Desktop Connection Explained - Question remote XP?

Hi Hibs, welcome to the Ten Forums.

You simply cannot use Windows XP Home as remote host, meaning you cannot connect to it using the Remote Desktop Connection. There are some hacks around the Internet but I very strongly advice against them.

A workaround, in case you have or can find a valid Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate license is to install Windows 7 on a Hyper-V virtual machine, then install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode on that virtual machine. Works perfectly giving you Windows XP Pro SP3.

If the mouse and keyboard are released by the Windows XP vm back to host, you simply need to bring the pointer on the vm and click to get them back to vm. The F8 keyboard shortcut when booting XP up works then totally normally bringing up the advanced options boot menu:

To release the mouse and keyboard back to host, press CTRL + ALT + LEFT ARROW.

My problem is this:

I can't run remote desktop connection in my current situation. I'm at home and I'd like to be able to do this.

I have a laptop that's fairly new. It's an HP Pavilion dv6 with an AMD Turioin II P520 dual-core processor that's 2.30 Ghz and it's running Windows 7 Home Premium, the 64-bit version.

I have two computers I'd like to control using my laptop: A Gateway GT5692 running an AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz that's got the 64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium and a HP SR501P with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 4200+ 2.20 GHz running the 32-bit version of Windows Vista Home Basic.

All are tied to a router. The laptop runs wireless and the two desktops have a wired lan. All connect to the internet through the router tied to a DSL modem.

I can control the computers using Windows Remote Assistance but not with Windows Remote Desktop connection. What's up with that? http://b.tsgstatic.com/smilies/frown.gif

And when I bring up system properties on my laptop, it has the “Remote Assistance” dialog but not the dialog for “Remote Desktop”. I viewed this on another computer with a video titled “Accessing another computer with Remote Desktop Connection”. On that video, it has the dialog for “Remote Desktop” viewable 50 seconds from the front of the video. I've noticed that this computer's system is “Windows 7 Ultimate” while I'm stuck ... Read more

Thanks.

Remote Desktop Connection wants the IP or name of the remote computer to connect to. But suppose the remote computer is behind a router. The router has one WAN IP, say 192.45.63.98, which will be the same for all the computers connected off of that router, (when you google "my ip" from any of them) and then each computer connected off of the router will have a LAN IP, something like 10.0.0.6. So if I want to help the person connected to the 10.0.0.6 computer (and not the person connected at 10.0.0.9) off of this router what do I tell Remote Desktop Connection at my computer to reach them?

Thanks.

As far as I know, the main difference is that KAV does not have Application Control, but Kaspersky Internet Security does.
Does this make a big difference in protection?
I am asking because I want to combo Kaspersky with an app that has a HIPS component, so I need to use KAV rather than KIS.

Answer:how good Internet Security Kaspersky AntiVirus, as compared to Kaspersky Internet Security?

Application control and Trusted Applications Mode are a great additional layer of protection. Which app do you want to add to Kaspersky? IMO KIS would be the best. TAM is really great.

My Kaspersky AV ran out of subscription so I decided to try AVG 7.5 free.
The one thing I noticed when using AVG for scanning "My Computer" scanned maybe half the number of files?? If not less...compared to KAS!! Could not find an option on AVG to add additional stuff to scan.

I was and am still using COMODO BO Clean & SpywareBlaster and Windows Firewall All updated to latest versions. Please let me know if this is a decent setup.

I'd like to know if the Lappy would be MORE secure if I shift to the latest KAS Internet security Package as opposed to hanging on to AVG free. .

Thanks very much for any advice.

Answer:Kaspersky Vs AVG Free

>> I'd like to know if the Lappy would be MORE secure if I shift to the latest KAS Internet security Package as opposed to hanging on to AVG free. Thanks very much for any advice. sikvik <<

I'd stay with AVG Free if I were you. I've used it since 2004 and I've never had a virus get through the AVG defenses on any of my 3 computers. It has caught a few things (while I was online) and "healed" them before any damage was done; but nothing has gotten through as yet. Additionally, just to be on the safe side; once a month I also use an "online virus check" called BitDefender Online Scanner - Free Online Virus Scan

Please Note: AVG 7.5 Free is out of date. Use AVG AntiVirus Free Edition 8.0 instead.

>> I was and am still using COMODO BO Clean & SpywareBlaster and Windows Firewall All updated to latest versions. Please let me know if this is a decent setup. <<

Sounds Good - but I'd add a software firewall if you do not already have one. Windows Firewall alone is very limited IMO.

Good Luck!

After $35 rebate... and you still have to foot the shipping.

And why would you ever want to have software shipped to you when you can get a digital download?

Kaspersky Labs said:

Over the weekend, someone wrote to us complaining that Kaspersky Lab was sending spam. Naturally, this came as a bit of a surprise, seeing as how we do nothing of the sort; in fact we do quite the reverse: we combat spam. Of course, we wanted to find out why a user had come to the conclusion that Kaspersky Lab was sending spam to them.

The email that the user complained about had all the hallmarks of a typical online scam: behind the nice pictures reminiscent of Kaspersky Lab?s official advertising there was a link that had absolutely nothing in common with the company?s products. The cybercriminals had done a good job: the email not only looked like an official email from Kaspersky Lab but the ?From? field was a good imitation as well.

After clicking the link, a user unwittingly ends up on a website with an offer to buy a program called Best Antivirus Online. It has to be said that the image of the ?product box? on the web page was not unlike that of Symantec?s signature design ? black font against a predominantly yellow background. To buy the program, the user had to enter their credit card details and email address so they could receive further instructions. We followed these step as part of our investigations, but received no more instructions at the email address we specified. It is quite possible that users could have received more instructions on how to download the fake antivirus at the time the spam was active.

A person can know well what website is the trusted security products could located it. And if struck by an email then suppose he/she know that the download link would be redirect to a known site that believe to be the main source of a specified Antivirus.

hi.. my computer runs in windows xp, intel celeron 1.80 ghz with 768 mb ram. my computer is the server in our internet shop so we plug usb drives, floppy disks, use the internet, download files here a lot. i only used kaspersky but a virus was able to get in my computer so i taught of using two antivirus programs at the same time. now, im currently running avg free 7.5.432 and kaspersky 6.0.1.411. both are updated. sometimes KAV detects a virus and sometimes its avg. and somehow a virus was able to get in my computer so i used norton ghost to restore my system. i've read articles about using antivirus programs at the same time.and people say it's bad and not advisable. but are there exceptions?in terms of compatibility. Is running avg and KAV really bad for the computer in terms of security? what antivirus software can really protect my computer against viruses and spywares and other malicious attacks?pls help me.thanks!

I've always been a BIG fan of Revo Uninstaller Pro. Revo has always been very good in regard to removing software, at least for me. HOWEVER, this evening was an exception. I was trying to remove a Kaspersky Antivirus program with Revo and, somehow, the uninstall was premature and apparently not everything became uninstalled, as their K icon still appears in my bottom taskbar and shows the manifestation of "its ugly face" when I try to reboot in the form of a popup advertisement for Kaspersky (since I was only on a trial with them) and interfering with my trying to open a page. VERY, VERY FRUSTRATING to say the least!!

Further particulars:

- Kaspersky name does not appear - ANYWHERE - in the Revo program nor can the name be found there.
- Name cannot be found under the Programs section of the Control Panel (Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit)
- Despite my removing ALL folders bearing the name, Kaspersky in the registry with a safe reboot, their K icon still boots up and appears in the taskbar

I don't know any other recourse on this, and this really has me "fuming!" If anyone can offer some kind of solution for me to remove this program, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Kaspersky Anti-Virus features include real-time protection, detection and removal of viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware, keyloggers malicious tools and auto-dialers. I have used this product and there are no internet security issues so i suggest you all that you can use Kaspersky Antivirus.

"Kaspersky has finally launched its free antivirus software after a year-and-a-half of testing it in select regions. While the software was only available in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, China and in Nordic countries during its trial run, Kaspersky is releasing it worldwide. The free antivirus doesn't have VPN, Parental Controls and Online Payment Protection its paid counterpart offers, but it has all the essential features you need to protect your PC. It can scan files and emails, protect your PC while you use the web and quarantine malware that infects your system."

As much as I've used and advocated for certain free AVs over the years, I could not help but notice that one paid AV suite consistently dominated numerous protection tests, namely Kaspersky Internet Security. The protection scores of KIS were not usually significantly higher than the free AVs, but they were consistently higher. It has achieved the highest award (Advanced +) from AV-Comparatives in every Real-World Protection test since 2009, unmatched by any other AV product, paid or free.
So when Kaspersky recently released a free version of its AV, I had to take it for a spin. I downloaded the latest Kaspersky Free (KF) version [18.0.0.405(b)] from: usa.kaspersky.com/free-antivirus

As of lately I have been receiving random pop-ups on my computer. They usually come whenever I open internet explorer. I use kaspersky and it's updated, i've scanned the deep system scan in safe mode and it found nothing. However, my computer's overall slower performance and random pop-ups come feom a virus. I don't know how to remove it, I'm not very computer literate. Please help!

This is my log report from Hijack this.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.

I've tried many free antivirus over the years, but these two have always consistently been the ones I liked the most.

After some issues with Windows 10 last year, I had to briefly switch to Avira but after the issues were fixed I got back to Avast because it was the one I had learned to rely upon in the last few years. However, I'm open to reassess my position between these two excellent products. Something that has also spurred me to reassess the situation was the fact that LifeHacker has recently changed their recommendation from Avast to Avira as the "The Best (Free) Antivirus App for Windows".

On one hand Avast offers a more complete feature set:

File System Shield
Web Shield
Mail Shield
Behavior Blocker (DeepScreen)

Still, I disable the E-mail blocker because I solely use Web mail. I also disable the Web shield because:

It seems to slightly slow down my browsing
I don't like to have all my HTTP traffic analyzed by the AV or any other program
Sometimes it doesn't play well with HTTPS because it internally to scan the encrypted traffic which changes the original website's certificate (I know I can selectively disable the Web Shield for HTTPS only)

So, in practice, I have been using the File System Shield and the Behavior Blocker at default sensitivity settings (no Hardened Mode) to avoid too many False Positives and issues with less known software. I've had no problems with this set up for a long time.

Regarding Avira, it lac... Read more

Answer:Avast Free Antivirus 2016 vs Avira Free Antivirus 2016

I vote for avast free more options more tweaks u can do in any option, and good deleting " dangers ". ofc software updater desactivate.
avira is anoying when detect some " infecction". run quick scan then many times ask fot reset pc not really good deleting real "dangers".
another thing is " the cloud " based.. oh common without internet cant do nothing really ?..
Abouth resources 50/50 both are good in this, ofc more " shields " u active and more " grade of detection " u activate more cpu/ram uses.

Answer:I can´t remove or uninstall Kaspersky Antivirus!!!

You can try the Kaspersky Removal Tool (http://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464). If that doesn't work you can either use System Restore to return to a point before you installed KAV or you can post on the Kaspersky Forum and see if they can help.

I am having problems uninstalling Kaspersky AntiVirus Personal Pro. When I go to Control Pannel and run the uninstallation, it supposedly completes but after a reboot I notice nothing has happened. I wanted to ask if any one of you had this same problem, and if you did... if you figured out how to remove it. I found this on the Kaspersky Site: I can not uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus via Control Panel... but it doesn't really help because I do not WISH TO EMAIL THEM.... instead I post on a completly remote forum to complain. I am not really having any problems with Kaspersky but i feel like uninstalling it just because.

I have a question about kis file antivirus in the advanced settings under the heuristic analysis if I set that to deep scan does it use more system resources, also does the deep scan setting provide better protection?

Answer:Kaspersky Question about the file antivirus

Depending on Your hardware specs it can slowdown Your system setting it to deep, I would keep the medium value (default).

But I would set it at deep only for on demand scanning in Settings -> Scan -> Advanced Settings -> Selective Scans -> Additional Settings

I hope someone can help me with this. I noticed the new 7.0 KAV was out so I went and tried to upgrade to it from my 6.0 version. When I got so far into installing it, I got an error. Basically there's a file up in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software area for Kaspersky that is locked and I can not get this file deleted out of the registry. Installing the new KAV 7.0 gets so far and then rolls back cause of this error. So I attempted to uninstall 6.0 and got an error doing that so I spent a long time digging KAV 6.0 manually out of my system but I can not get that one KasperskyLab file to delete out of the registry and now I can't even install 6.0 again nor the 7.0 version. I keep getting the error. I went to Kaspersky to see what to do and found a removal tool to take KAV off and even it will not unlock the registry key so I can delete it. I've tried everything to get it to delete. I tried using Unlocker but that doesn't work in the registry. I've scoured my computer for any other entries remaining for Kaspersky that might be keeping it locked but I'm coming up finding nothing else for Kaspersky. Can someone please tell me if there's a program I can use to unlock keys up in the registry so I can delete this entry. I'm stuck and can't figure out what to do next. HELP! HELP! I recently bought Kaspersky antivirus and was really pleased but when I installed it things started to change. A lot of error messages started to appear on page saying that DrWatson wasn't working and do you want to send a message to microsoft. Then I uninstalled Kaspersky and everything was fine. When I tried the program again the same thing happened but this time it was PML driver. I read on somewhere else it was something to do twith the webcam but I uninstalled that software and it still happens.

Plz Help!!!!!

I am looking for an antivirus for Windows XP because I am tired of all that **** that tries to infect my PC. So far I looked into Kaspersky Antivirus and McAfee Virus Scan. Which one is better or should I pick something entirely different?

Answer:Antivirus Recommendations? (Kaspersky vs. McAfee)

AVG or AntiVir. Both are free and work great.

I want to remove my NAV 2003 program (I have been told in another thread to run the removal tool instead of the inbuilt deinstallation wizard). Each version seems to be a resource hog (which is why I have stuck around with this version for so long...in case the installation of a new version kills my PC), and even five years later, nothing seems to have changed, to judge from the negative opinions. I read reviews on NAV 2008. There were hardly any good ones, or only two stars instead of five (customer rating). But obviously, I can't stay with this ancient software either, so I am wondering whether I should switch over to Kaspersky - which I have never had before. I had McAfee once (on my old computer, under Windows 98). It was dreadful. I won't let it an inch within my hard disk. Is Kaspersky AntiVirus recommendable? Safe to install and safe to deinstall? Any issues or characteristic bugs I have to know about?

As far as I know, the main difference is that KAV does not have Application Control, but Kaspersky Internet Security does.
Does this make a big difference in protection?
I am asking because I want to combo Kaspersky with an app that has a HIPS component, so I need to use KAV rather than KIS.

Answer:how good is Kaspersky AntiVirus, as compared to KIS?

Application control and Trusted Applications Mode are a great additional layer of protection. Which app do you want to add to Kaspersky? IMO KIS would be the best. TAM is really great.

I have always the same problem. As soon as I click "uninstall", the machine just shuts up and starts over again leaving Kaspersky intact. This happens only with Kaspersky(!). can you help please? My Kaspersky antivirus keeps deactivating and then making me reactivate it. Every time it deactivates it kills my internet connection.
It was occurring on Kaspersky 2011, so I upgraded to Kaspersky 2013, however I'm having the same problem. I have no idea where to start, any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will be assisting you with your Malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while you are follow my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or Add/ Remove Software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all Logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts.
