Can i connect an External monitor on Inspiron 7567 Laptop??

Question: Can i connect an External monitor on Inspiron 7567 Laptop??

I am just about to make a purchase on the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming (7567). I would like to use this with external monitors via the HDMI port (and leave the laptop CLOSED). I have seen that some people have experienced issues with this:
-lag/stuttering on the external monitor
-black screen on the external monitor
-video drivers crashing

Has anyone else hooked up external monitors via the HDMI port? Have you experienced these types of issues?

It would inform my decision to buy or not.

Thank you,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Although the notebook seems to be powerful enough, I am having problems when it is connected to the external monitor (via HDMI, I have tried different monitors and cables):
1) When the notebook lid is closed (or the Windows Display settings is set to "External only"), Windows is very slow, all the animations are lagging. When both notebook screen and external monitor are on (set to "Duplicate"), everything is fine.
2) In games, I have a noticable FPS drop (up to 20 - 30 FPS in Witcher 3) when playing on external screen (even on "Duplicate" and "External Only" modes). I can have full FPS just when playing only on notebook screen.
any solution?

few weeks ago, I have bought Dell 7567 in following configuration:
CPU:  Intel Core i7 7700 HQ
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630 + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti
HDD: 1TB 5400rpm

I was not able to solve this problem (probably it's some bug in drivers from Intel). I have tried more different drivers (from Dell and also stock Nvidia/Intel) but without success. Currently I am using the latest ones from Dell website.
I would be very happy if someone could help me to solve this problem as it drives me crazy to not be able to enjoy full (gaming) performance of this laptop.

Dear all,
I currently have an Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 which I am trying to connect to an external screen I recently bought (Dell 2415H). I have attempted to connected this though HDMI port. For some reason, the screen remains blank (black). The resolution should be 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. In order to address the issue and after reading a few forums I have tried a few things:
1. Tried different HDMI cables although the screen came with one. I have also used the cable and laptop on a TV and works fine. However, the TV resolution works with a 1360 x 768 @ 60 hz.
2. I have connected the screen to different laptop (Samsung) through the HDMI and works fine.
3. I have updated drivers after completely uninstalling them (both Intel and Nvidia). The Nvidia Geforce drivers that I have at the moment are version 384.94 - see below.

4. I have played around with Nvidia's Setting panel. So the results are as follows:
1920 x 1080 @30Hz, progressive (custom setup): Display works but lots of blue pixels in black areas
1080p 1920 x 1080 @60Hz (native): no signal – blank screen;
1080i 1920 x 1080 @ 30Hz: lots of flickering;
Other resolutions mixed results.
The intention of course is to have an output of 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz as that’s what both devices (screen and graphics card) are supposed to support.
To sum up the issue therefore seems to be that GTX1050 can't cope with 1920 x 1080 specifically @ 60Hz. Can you please confirm if that is a known issue and how... Read more

Was is possible to connect this laptop 7720 to two external monitor (do not mind if laptop screen is disabled or duplicate).
I have two samsung 21" monitor (HD).
if so how?

Answer:Inspiron 7720 SE 17": How to connect to two external monitor?

Hi, let me join in.
I wonder if one of you can confirm that it's impossible to use this inspiron 7720 in a triple monitor setup (no duplicating but only extending the screen)? I wonder because it is usually possible with optimus cards and win7/8 but not this time - could only manage to run any 2 out of three.
And to answer riscy00: why use a splitter? Simply use HDMI and vga and disable the laptop screen. I did this today.

I have a new Inspiron 7567 gaming laptop; it has two graphics cards, the integrated Intel HD 630 and the 'semi-discrete' Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 ti.
Yesterday, I tried plugging it into my HDTV using an HDMI to HDMI cable. I have done this many times with my previous laptop, a Dell Inspiron n7110, and have had 0 problems. With the 7567, however, the TV just flickers for a moment and says "No signal". The computer reacts in a few different ways when the TV is plugged in:
In the Windows 10 "Display Settings", options appear for multiple displays such as "Extend Display", "Duplicate Display", etc., and with Windows + P I can choose these, however, only one screen is shown (which changes from 1 to 1/2 when HDMI is plugged in) and when I click on "Detect" it says that no other display is detected. Additionally, an extra Monitor (Generic PNP Monitor) appears in Device Manager when the display is plugged in.
In the Intel Graphics Settings control panel, there is no change when the HDMI display is plugged in. There are no multiple-display options, and "Detect" does not detect any other displays.
Finally, in the Nvidia control panel, when there is no external display plugged in, the only section in the left-hand tree menu is "3D Settings". One of the items under it is "Set PhysX Configuration", which shows "Laptop Display" connected to "Intel HD Graphics 630" with a line, inside ... Read more

Been having a problem with my new laptop that's getting progressively more annoying.
Every so often Power Monitor Lite pops up a dialogue box that states that it does not recognise my battery & that 3rd party batteries could catch on fire. I should order a new Dell battery to fix this.
Originally this happened maybe once per day. Now it can be once per hour. It now also stacks, leaving multiple instances open in the background after I leave the system on with no activity.
Seeing as my laptop is pretty much fresh from box and has had no hardware changes made to it this is obviously wrong.
It is more frustrating that if I open Power manager Lite It shows Dell as the battery maker. The only thing on the info screen is that the program cannot establish "battery health"
I would normally remove this software as Windows perfectly good power management built in but I cannot find anything listed under add/remove - this seems to be a Win 10 thing as I have found advice for Win 8 saying it can be removed this way.
Any advice on how to remove this program or at least disable it's notifications?

I updated my Laptop 5/17 with the updated BIOS and other updates and now my external monitor will not project my laptop screen and is a checkerboard black and white pattern. It appears it does not recognize the HDMI connection to my Dell D3100 docking station.  I also updated the Nvideo card as suggested by Dell.  Any clues as to why this happened and a solution?

I would like to setup one, preferably two, external monitors on an Inspiron 15 5000 Series Laptop.
I would like the monitors to work independently (extended?)  ie: Be able to use all *two/three separately - shuffle open windows/pages around between them ..

What do I need to do/buy?

I have not bought monitors yet, but have a source for some used corporate surplus. Going to assume they are not 'the latest greatest' and only have standard hookups (vga or dvi?)

Thanks and appreciation in advance ..

The problem still exists even after Dell repaired the laptop. It took two weeks to get the repaired laptop back from Dell.

The problem is:
When I plug or unplug the charger while playing music/video on laptop, the laptop is freezing with buzzing sound for 1-2 seconds when the laptop begins charging. Even after Dell repaired the laptop, the problem still exists.
Tried installing the updated drivers, the laptop works fine only for a short period and then after some time the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.
Also, if the laptop is restarted it works fine for a while and then the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.

Not satisfied with the Dell and Dell repair services.
Need help with this problem.

Greetings! I just got my laptop recently and when I installed some games(Overwatch specifically), I would stutter like *** even if I installed the latest nvidia driver and lowering the graphics settings aswell. I did the same thing with the other games like CS:GO and Bioshock Infinite, I would still stutter even if lowered the settings down. I just feel like the laptop should be performing much better.
Any way I could boost things up and/or utilize the laptop itself?

Every time I close my laptop and open it back up I'm greeted with this screen:

I've tried: running malwarebytes, updating my drivers, running Dell update, and I've restarted the computer like 800 times. Every time I restart it, it goes back to normal but once I close it, it goes back to this state. That one square patch is my mouse, I can move it around but that's all it can do as far as I can tell. I've tried clicking everywhere while it's on this state but nothing happens. It was completely fine yesterday but now this, what's up with it?

The touchscreen on the laptop is completely black.  The computer is turning on and the backlight to the keyboard is functioning, as well as the fan.  At times I can get a series of 8 beeps that can be heard.  I referenced this and understand that code indicates LCD failure.  I connected the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI cable and it is black as well.  I did remove the battery for a few minutes and then reinstalled it.  I also check the LCD cable connection, unplugged it, and plugged it back in.  No change.  What could be causing this problem?
Thank you for any help!

I have an Acer Aspire 2920Z. I have been connecting it to a Samsung Syncmaster 2333t external monitor using a VGA lead and it has been working fine for about a year. Today, it stopped working. At first when I connected the VGA lead, I got a message "Multiscreen application error monitor not found". Then a 'check signal cable' floating box appeared on the Samsung screen.

Now when I try to plug the VGA lead into my laptop, my laptop screen goes black.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I have seen some posts on internet, concerning connecting an external CRT Monitor with a Laptop computer. They pretty much said that there might be a blue cable with, and one can use it to connect that monitor with laptop. Now I am confused that mine monitor has two cables; one of which is blue and the other one is white, having three larger pins inside. Both these wires are connected to my desktop CPU. Now my question is that, it is obvious that the blue wire can be connected to my laptop but what about the other one, this wire is connected to the power supply of my desktop pc, and when it comes to laptop, would mere one wire (blue) suffice for the electricity or other things? Thank you for reading, waiting for your replies. Thanks!

Typical video connections on a laptop are

VGA usually blue

DVI usually white

HDMI usually gray or black but can come in other colors..

What connection does your laptop have and match that to your monitors connector..

do not plug your laptop video output to you computer video output!!

connections are from computer or laptop to monitor

I am having this weird issue that I know is solvable.

I attached an external monitor to my laptop after a lightning strike took out my desktop. I want the external monitor to take the place of, and mirror, everything that is going on on the on board monitor. The problem is that I do not see what is there but the external monitor acts as an extension of the on board monitor.

I tried the display function in the Control Panel but that only allows me to stack the monitors so that the cursor moves seamlessly from one to the other as though they are contiguous.

I can open a window, shrink it, and move it to the external monitor and then maximize it and work on it. I can't move it if it is maximized.

I can move an icon to the external monitor and double click it but the program opens in the on board monitor.

How do I get the external monitor to be the primary monitor or a mirror of the on board monitor so I do not have to use the on board monitor at all?

Answer:Audio playing through left speaker only on dell inspiron 7567 laptop

sandy5837Is there some setting i am missing out on or is it a hardware issue.
Hello. This is the audio hardware test for the laptop's internal audio hardware. It works differently from the other tests. If no sound is heard through the laptop's right speaker during that test, then the cause is hardware failure. If it passes, then it's software.
If it is software, then download and install a fresh copy of the audio driver. Get it from your model's support page, or I can give you a link. Installing a fresh copy will re-set the audio settings, which would fix it if the cause is mis-configuration of the settings.

I have a dell Inspiron 13 7349 laptop running stock windows 8.  I recently updated the display driver to the latest version from the dell support site (based on my service tag).  The driver is Intel(R) HD Graphics family (dated 2016-03-23).  Since then, each time I try to connect the laptop to an external monitor, or if I try to change the screen resolution, the screen refreshes to a blank page - I can see the mouse pointer, but nothing else.  The solution is to either close the laptop lip and reopen (works 60%) of the time.  The other solution is to restart the laptop (so I lost all the unsaved information).  I have been using/connecting to this same external monitor for at least a year with this laptop on older driver.  Downgrading to the previous driver is not an option because it was causing other more serious problems.  Does anyone know what may be wrong here? It appears to be a driver issue, but I m not sure how to overcome.

I've been trying for hours to get my Lenovo Thinkpad notebook to connect to the monitor I use for my home computer. I have unplugged the cable in the computer and connected it to my notebook as I usually do to duplicate the screen across two monitors... Only this time it hasn't worked.
The main reason why I want to do this is because my notebook display looks stretched on the notebook screen but when I connect it to the external monitor it always goes normal. This is something that also doesn't want to change no matter what resolution the screen is or however many Google suggestions I read. Any help?
My notebook isn't registering that I have connected the monitor. I have tried changing it from PC to AV and back again, pressing Fn+F7 simultaneously which usually does the trick, and I also tried pressing the windows button on the keypad and 'P' simultaneously but the mouse only briefly shows an hourglass next to it then nothing happens!!
In the setting 'connect to an external display' it doesn't detect that there is an external monitor plugged in. If anyone knows any miracle tricks I would really love for their advice!
Thanks for any suggestions.

Dear all,

I am encountering the following problem and would very much appreciate your help with it: I am using an somewhat dated IBM ThinkPad (R50e), which I'd like to run with an external monitor.

Now, I have connected the monitor (Fujitsu Siemens Scenicview A19-3A) to the external monitor connector using a DVI - VGA/SVGA/XVGA monitor adapter. I have then switched the display output location to "LCD & external (CRT) monitor" using the Fn+F7 key combination, but the external monitor seems not to receive a signal (at least none that he'd be willing to transform into some type of display) -- it remains all black.

I also installed the monitor device drivers from Fujitsu on my laptop, but to no avail.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be and how I might be able to get the external monitor to work with my laptop?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Answer:How to connect external LCD monitor to laptop (IBM ThinkPad R50e)?

You just need to push the plug in securely (even tighten the thumb screws, if it has any)
Then turn on

It should default to the external, straight away
If not use the Fn+F7 keys as you said (note: I haven't downloaded your manual to confirm this)

By the way, the monitor works normally, and all, doesn't it ?

so i have two external monitors connected to my thinkpad's dock, one is connected with VGA and the other using displayport/DVI adapter.i opened up "screen Resolution" in win7, windows detects all three monitors but only lets me use two there a way to get 3 monitor running at the same time?thanks

Answer:how to connect two external monitors while keeping laptop monitor running?

no you can't use all three screens at the same time.
You would probably already know this, but i will repeat it for other member's future references.
If you need the internal LCD working, you will have use a Lenovo usb2dvi converter and stop using one of the output ports (either the vga or displayport).

I have been looking for verification that if I buy the Dell 24 Gaming Monitor – S2417DG and attach it to my Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI that I will get full 2560x1440 resolution refresh rate 165 Hz with 1ms response as the Monitor specs are listed.
I can find no information that the HDMI will pass this level of output.
I have talked to Dell tech support and they do say that the HDMI port is connected directly to the  NVIDIA  GeForce GTX 1050T i with 4GB GDDR5 but I also have seen information that HDMI will not support this.
So I am looking for verification on this configuration being compatible/able to output the full capabilities of the video card to the monitor via the on board HDMI output?

Answer:Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI Specs/Does HDMI out support full bandwidth for G-SYNC Dell Gaming Monitor – S2417DG

First of all, G-Sync as far as I know requires DisplayPort and will not run on HDMI.  Even if it does, I don't think even HDMI 2.0 has enough bandwidth for 1440p @ 165 Hz.  And even if it does though, all of the Dell systems I've seen have only had HDMI 1.4, which is only enough for 1440p @ 60 Hz.  But even if all of that isn't a problem, does the Inspiron 7567 have ONLY a GeForce GPU, or does it have an Intel GPU plus a GeForce GPU?  If it's the latter, G-Sync will definitely not work because in almost all systems that have both GPUs, only the Intel GPU is directly wired to the display outputs.  If your system has ONLY the GeForce GPU, then G-Sync should work in theory, but again you may have the bandwidth problems I mentioned above.

Installed all required updates for Windows 10, Steam client, and downloaded Elder Scrolls Online. I was very surprised to see that the FPS count with new GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb GDDR5  was almost lower than on my 6 year old XPS L702X laptop with GT 555M 3GB GDDR3.
Dell Inspiron 7567 Gaming  -  [email protected] LOW settings
Dell XPS L702X  -  [email protected] LOW settings

Full specs:
Dell Inspiron 7567 Gaming:
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz (Kaby Lake)
16 GB DDR4-2400 single channel RAM
512GB NVMe SSD + 1TB 5400rpm HDD
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4gb GDDR5 (nVidia drivers from Dell support 382.05 ver.)

Dell XPS L702X:
Microsoft Windows 7 Pro
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (Sandy Bridge-MB)
16GB DDR3-1600 dual channel RAM

GeForce GT 555M 3GB GDDR3 (downgraded nVidia drivers from nVidia to 382.05 ver. for compare)

In my humble opinion Inspiron 7567 should perform much better on these specs and pull much better FPS on this game.
Should I take my money back? Or can it be fixed ?

Answer:Inspiron 7567 gaming 4K, low FPS

Even a 1070 or 1080 GPU will be challeneged by a 4K screen - for a 1050, forget high performance.
If you want to stick with a lower-end 1050 GPU, a 1080p FHD screen is the best you'll do for gaming -- forget the 4K.

Hi Dell Community. I'm getting big performance drops in games when connecting to my TV (direct connection over HDMI).Taxing scenes that would give me 55FPS when playing on my Laptop Screen are now dropping to 30-35fps and I have no idea what's causing it. As far as I know there shouldn't be such massive drops just by using an external monitor.I've asked in other places and gotten some suggestions but none that has helped me solve the issue:- The games are running at 1080p on both my laptop screen and my TV so It's not a resolution difference causing the issues- I've set the image to only display on the secondary monitor. So it's not mirroring it on the laptop screen.- I've made sure it's the dedicated GTX1050 Ti running the games and not the integrated graphics card when using my TV (by adjusting the global settings in the Nvidia control panel)- All the drivers are up to date
Any suggestions?Thanks

Answer:Inspiron 7567, HDMI out to TV, low FPS

The Nvidia global settings only applies to the laptop LCD panel. The HDMI out port will ONLY use the onboard Intel HD Graphics 630. So getting 30-35 FPS on that Intel GPU is normal. The Intel driver A03 dated 8/31/17 is the latest one we offered for this Inspiron 15-7567. I did find a newer driver dated 9/11/17 for the onboard Intel HD Graphics 630 on the Inspiron 15-7577, A01. Might be worth testing to see if it will install on your model.

I am using  Inspiron 15 7567 with i7 1TB HHD+256GB SSD with the up-to-date BIOS 1.0.4.
I use the default settings in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and start CPU stress test and FurMark to stress test it. From the diagram below. At the 3rd minute on white line. The CPU temperature hit the 80 °C and suddenly frequency down to 2.1Ghz and never raise up even it is only 66 °C.

Hello All,I could use some assistance troubleshooting an issue with my new Dell Inspiron 7657.Specs:i5 7300hq (2.5-3.5)gtx 1050 ti16gb ddr4 2400ssd main drive7200 rpm hddThe issue I'm having is the CPU will throttle to below its base frequency while gaming - temperatures do not exceed 70c. See below screenshot: 1st line is CPU, 2nd line is GPU, 3rd line is gpu memory usage and 4th line is fpsThe difference between 2.3ghz and 3.1ghz in bf1 is a difference between 30 and 60 fps - so this is kind of a big deal when it comes to gaming.I cant seem to be able to find out the solution to this - im running on the latest drivers and bios - ive even installed intel tuning utility and pumped up the cpu wattage to see if it was a power limitation.I could use some additional heads grinding away at this issue. I can't seem to find any related posts online.

Have a 2 month old brand new Inspiron 15 gaming 7567 laptop and while playing a game tonight I was tapping on the case(more precisely next to the touch pad) gently, all of a sudden my laptop shut down and now will not turn back on.
When you press the power. Button it lights up for a split second and turns off.. it doesn't even make the usual noises like it wants to boot. The only time I can get a noise is when I hold "d + power button" and that only last half a second.
I have tried other general suggestion such as disconnecting button and holding down power then reconnecting to no end.
Any one have any ideas?

Answer:Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567

If you're comfortable in opening the computer, I suggest reseating the battery. Please follow steps below:
1. Remove all peripherals, AC adapter, and battery from system. Press the " Power On " for about 15 seconds to release Static Flea Power.
2. Replace battery, adapter, and then power on system. Hopefully computer starts normally.

I bought a Inspiron 15 Gaming - 7567, comes with:
Intel core  i7-7700HQ
SanDisk X400 M.2 - 256GB SSD + Toshiba - 1TB Hard drive
Geforce GTX 1050 TI
1080p screen.

Yesterday I bought Samsung 960 EVO - 250GB, M.2 NVMe SSD, I replace the SSDs (Toshiba to 960 EVO), and I changed the bios to AHCI, because in RAID the computer did not detect the SSD EVO.
I proceeded to the installation of windows 10 and I was able to install Windows without problems in the SSD EVO.
The problem happens that it does not boot Windows on the SSD EVO.
I installed windows in HD, and tried to clone to SSD EVO.
I installed windows without the HD connected.
Nothing seems to work. Does anyone have the same problem?

Dell Insprion 15 7000 windows 10 v1709 Crashes suddenly 2x per day i installed dell support assistant and it gave me this event name CLR20r3 these errors
1 & 2-

Answer:Inspiron 15 7567 keeps crashing at least 2x per day now

The report seems to involve the Zero Configuration Service which is part of the Intel Wi-Fi driver.  Currently I have a Killer wireless card installed on my system so I am not seeing your problem.
You might try uninstalling the device.  Windows 10 seems to have a built-in driver for the 8265 you could try before reinstalling the Dell version.
You always have the option to put a dump file on your OneDrive and give us a link.  It might not help further but someone may be able to get something from it.

Hi,  I'm trying to setup dual monitor for my lenovo T61P laptop. I want to use one external monitor which is connected to my Thinkpad docking station and the laptop lcd monitor. I'm using windows vista x64. Does any one else have it setup this way? When I connect the laptop to the docking station, only the external  monitor displays data. I've tried going into desktop settings to extend my desktop but only one monitor is present. Please help. I've spent an entire two days playing with BIOS settings, searching forums....

Answer:T61P - dual monitor with docking station (laptop lcd monitor) and one external monitor

This started working fine when I installed the video drivers below: Display (NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M / Quadro FX 570M) driver for Windows Vista 64-bit - ThinkPad  It looks like I had installed the wrong video drivers (32-bit)  previously. Now fn+F7 works fine and I am able to extend my desktop to mulple monitors (dual-monitor).

Hi I am new to this forum, but really need some help on some big issues I am having.
I purchased a Dell Inspirion 15 Gaming 7567 laptop in July of 2017.
The laptop gave me issues since day one but I desperately needed it for school and tried to push through with it's problems. The first issues I noticed was that it was in a "Blue Screen" loop when I tried to set up Windows 10 for the first time. It would also not connect to wifi and I was getting a error related to the network so I figured out how to update the drivers and was able to temporarily resolve the issue. The Wifi card was in a loop of not updating and would just constantly tell me it needed to update the driver. After that I started noticing issues with sound and got a horrible beeping/static noise that persisted and no updates to the BIOS or sound card have fixed that issue.I also started to notice that whenever I would put the laptop into sleep mode or close the lid of it, the screen would show a static image, almost like static on a TV but with blue and green lines instead.
I sent the laptop in for repairs in November of this year, detailing my issues and they did the repair saying they replaced the Main Logic Board.
Now as of today, December 2017  the sound problem is worse and more frequent. And I have noticed the monitor making that weird static image of blue and green lines on Youtube videos I am watching. And to top everything off my 1 TB D-drive is not showing up o... Read more

So I recently (it's been about 3 weeks) purchased a refurbished dell Inspiron 15 7000. Sometimes, when I put my laptop to sleep, it wakes up with this screen. That smaller box is the mouse apparently because it moves when I move my mouse. It doesn't go away, at least when I left it for 10 minutes.
Also, another freezing problem that I have is that sometimes, my computer spontaneously freezes while I am watching a video. It may have to do with my RAM usage (I've noticed that I have at least 4-5 tabs open) but I also have 8gb ram, which has never been a problem on other computers. The screen doesn't change, and the audio stutters loudly for about 10 seconds before cutting off immediately. Nothing on the screen moves.

All parts are stock.

Hi there,

Bought a Inspiron 15 Gaming a week ago with the i7 7700HQ kaby lake cpu,
Comes with:
Intel core  i7 7700HQ kaby lake cpu
256GB SSD + 1TB Hard drive
Geforce GTX 1050 ( appears to be a 1050 ti on my order comfirmation ).
1080p screen.

The real question is: Is it upgradeable to a Nvme M2 ssd later on ?, because the 4k screen version with the 512GB ssd has a nvme version in it.

Hope the 15 gaming does work pretty well.
Using a 17R 5720, which is 4 years and 5 months old, but still good battery life. Just lacks of the SATA3 msata and a good graphics chip.

I just bought one from the dell outlet factory. Till now the laptop is a beauty but the only thing that bothers me is the 256GB SSD. I do some recording and video rendering stuff too besides than just gaming.
Now, my question, is there any way to to install a 1TB HDD, keeping my 256GB SSD undisturbed. I did some research and found out that my laptop supports 2.5Inch SATA hard disks but does it only support SSD or both SSD AND HDD
Is there any free internal slot for the installation of 2.5Inch HDD/SSD ? Please anyone ?
Also I checked this post() Where he says he ordered the 1050Ti version but got the normal 1050 version. The thing is, my uncle has got my laptop and he's bringing it on friday plus he doesn't know how to check the graphic card and everything. I ordered the 1050Ti version, so will I be getting the normal 1050 version or the correct one(1050Ti) ?

Hey everyone, I've been trying to boot my laptop from a USB in order to do a clean install of windows 10 but the laptop won't boot from USB. I updated the BIOS in case that was the problem. When I go into the BIOS, and go to the screen to choose a device to boot from, I can't see the USB in the list. I've tried turning off safe boot and all that but to no avail. The only thing that seems to be left is change the boot mode to Legacy instead of UEFI but dell advises against that and I don' wanna do that in case something goes wrong. Thanks for the help

Hello guys! I recently bought a Micron M600 2.5" SSD drive for my laptop but it won't show up in W10 disk manager, device manager or diskpart.
I currently have the stock 256GB M2 SSD installed and want to use the new 2.5 SSD for game storage, however in BIOS I can see the 2.5" SSD if I disable secure boot but again not in W10, already changed the setup of SATA from Raid to ahci and still not showing up.
If I install a normal HDD it will show up in windows without any issues.
Have also connected the SSD with an external caddy and it's fully working and being recognized by W10.
My laptop model is the inspiron 7567 Core i5 variant.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I ordered the laptop on amazon on prime day, received it and everything worked great. However when I installed ghost warrior 3 and noticed stuttering so I put it on low settings, still stuttering. I enabled the fps counter and was getting no drops and was getting 40+ fps. Anyways I thought it was the game, went to Rocket League and same exact issue, getting 90+ fps but stuttering and fps doesn't seem to drop. Then same with CS:GO and then I got IGI(I'm going in), a game from 2001 and exact same issue. Com'on my mobile could run that!
Anyways I hit amazon up and they sent me another one, arrived today. Same exact problem so I hit a Dell representative up(phone was down so chatted). He made me re-install windows and install drivers again. No luck at all.

So this happens on two laptops from I'm probably going to return unless anyone has a fix for this.

Thank you.

The new Dell Inspiron 7567 is plagued with a BSOD issue when updating the Nvidia video driver.
The driver provided by Dell is stable, however does not support the latest and greatest games (BF1 is a year old and will not launch on Dells driver).
I've spoken with several owners of the new 7567 and they are all experiencing the same issue.
There has been some issue with dell keeping up to date with the latest Nvidia drivers for the discrete GPU (you can't take regular NV gpu updates from NV experience unless you want to deal with BSOD GPU fatal errors) . From what I have read this notebook employs Nvidia Optimus technology- in short it uses the Intel GPU (on CPU) for low power applications and then seamlessly hands off to the GTX when the workload becomes too much (gaming). There is no way to disable this handoff from within bios NV control panel or windows power management to use only the GTX. Using any other than the dell supplied driver will result in extreme system instability and frequent crashes. Using the dell supplied drivers your new 1050 Ti is about 15-20% lower performing than on the newer (but unstable) NV supplied drivers.
Competing manufacturers like Acer do not have this issue and Acers machines will perform significantly better than Dells due to this driver conflict.
I urge Dell to address this issue ASAP for it will cause a very big issue for them in the near future as Acer and Lenovo flood the market with their new systems.

I have a 7567 with the Toshiba 512gb nvme drive.

I tried to install a Micron MX100 ssd in the extra 2.5" drive bay but it's not detected in the bios, windows 10 disk manager, and intel rapid storage technology menu in the boot menu.

Must I use AHCI in the bios (was shipped with raid) and (reinstall?) switch to ahci drivers for Windows 10? Or is there a way to enable the second drive without touching the Toshiba?

Answer:Inspiron 7567 dual drives

The system does come with the M.2 drive running as SATA and the controller set to RAID.  I don't know anything about the Micron drive, but a RAID system should pick up the 2.5 inch drive.
My system is currently running with SATA set to AHCI because I have installed a Samsung M.2 drive.  A Samsung 2.5 inch drive was recognized as expected.
If the drive is not recognized in the Bios, check the connections  A RAID ready system should see the second drive.  However, I cannot guarantee your configuration is allowed since mine is different.
The problem with running the Toshiba drive as PCIe is the Windows NVMe driver.  The drive performs better as SATA.  The M.2 slot can only run a PCIe drive as SATA if the SATA controller is set to RAID.  If you want to change the controller, it can be done by using msconfig.exe process.  Let us know if you want to try that.

I've gotten the Inspiron 7567 with i7, 1 TB HDD and 256 GB SSD.
It always make a high pitched popping sound on headphone port, before and after playing the sound. I think it should be Realtek HD Audio power management problem. I uninstall the Realtek Driver and use windows original high definition audio driver which solved this problem. I can not always use Windows original high definition audio driver, because it doesn't support like select the headphone type, Maxxaudio.
I have tried to use all solution on post: but not work, including change the regedit ,install other version Realtek driver , stop auto startup of Maxxaudio.

The 4K 7567 Laptop comes with a 512GB SSD. I would like to add another drive, preferably SAD. However both Dell Support and internet sources provide conflicting data on whether another SSD can be added, varying "yes" or "no" between Dell spare parts sales persons. Internet sources are not definitive either.
Questions: Is there an available slot, and if so, is it SATA HDD only (as one Dell person says), or, M.2 ADD compatible, as another Dell salesperson has stated, or, another format?
Another 500gb SSD Is preferable, but, can I go with an HDD, if an additional SDD cannot be added?

Answer:Storage: Inspiron Gaming 15 7567 4k UHD

You said your system came with a 500 GB SSD.  If that were an M.2 drive you could add a 2.5 inch drive, whether SSD or HDD.
One M.2 drive and one 2.5 inch SATA drive.

I tried to check as many topics as possible to see if this problem has been discussed before. I could not find it, sorry if I missed it.
I purchased an Inspiron 7567 a few days ago. The problem I noticed that whenever I restarted or shut down the computer or started a task (i.e. when I install a program), it freezed for a second and continued with that task. I wanted to check the graphics card temperatures and installed MSI afterburner. I saw that Nvidia GPU activates and deactivates continuously, like oscillating between activation and deactivation, even though there was no need for it to activate.

I also found a video at youtube which actually describes my problem.
I installed the latest graphic drivers but the problem is not solved. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Audio was of poor quality before tinkering with the "Wave MAXX" application. Now that I've found settings I like, the speaker audio sounds fantastic (headphone audio is another story, but thats not the point of this post.) However, when I first start streaming audio or plug in a USB device, audio will break up and sound choppy for several seconds. Once it clears up, audio can be fine for hours - at least until I plug in another USB device.
Admittedly, this is a pretty minor problem since it only happens occasionally. But I'd like to clear it up if possible. Why might this be happening? I've never had audio issues like this with a laptop before. Is it because of the extra CPU cycles required for audio processing getting interrupted when streaming/connecting a USB device?

If all you get on the monitor is the 2 lines I would think the the laptop is screwed. The only thing you can try is taking the laptop apart and unplugging the display panel and see if it the external monitor works then. I assume that the monitor works fine everwhere else. You can check out and see if theres any known issues with external monitors and your laptop aswell.

The screen on my external monitor goes blank intermittently. Sometimes it happens only once but more often it happens few times in a row.
I had been using a Samsung external monitor for two years before I bought my Inspiron 13 7378. The problem started immediately after I connected my new Dell laptop.
I tried few different HDMI cables but it didn't help. Obviously, the problem is not in HDMI cables. Of course, I have been downloading newest drivers all the time. I've been running diagnostic tests from the support page. Tests pass all the time.
I contacted the Dell support and after few calls I was suggested to install video driver directly from Intel's web pages. I did and it didn't help. Also, I was told that they could not help me with troubleshooting the external monitor because it was not a Dell monitor, which is completely understandable.
Few days ago I bought a Dell monitor, P2717H, because I hopped it would help to have both the laptop and the monitor from Dell. Guess what, it didn't help.
I also tried the USB-C to HDMI converter and no luck.
I'm in contact with Dell's support again, I hope this time we will solve the problem.
Has anyone had the same problem? And have you found a solution or at least the cause of the problem?

I have an HP laptop and I have been running it with dual monitors. I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 7 and after I installed it I noticed that the built in monitor of my laptop looked strange and when I opened the display settings to change the screen resolution and set the external monitor as a separate monitor rather than a mirror I noticed that only one monitor was detected and it was the external one (Generic non-pnp monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter) and the built in monitor does NOT show up at all.

I've tried the detection button, in hopes that the computer would read the built in monitor and I could fix the problem. This did not help. I tried unplugging/replugging the external monitor to no avail. I tried restarting without the external monitor plugged in and it STILL reads the built in monitor as if it is the external one. Is there anyway to fix this? I have not tried re-installing the OS, not yet anyways.

Any suggestions ?

Answer:Monitor Issues - Laptop Reading Built In Monitor as if it were my external monitor.

Only thing I can think of is to disconnnect the external monitor, uninstall any monitors listed and then reboot and hope the computer installs the correct drivers for the laptop monitor.

This is by far the worst experience with computers I have had. I work in IT section and I have quite decent knowledge of hardware and software but this problem has had me thinking if I am stupid or dont have no knowledge.

My problem is that i have brand new Dell Inspiron 7567 4K edition.

i7-7700HQ(HD 630), GTX 1050Ti, 8GB DDR4, SSD 128 and 1TB HDD, Windows 10.

* Thing is that when I browse web(chrome, opera, IE, Edge) the scrolling is laggy/choppy.
* Moving explorer windows fast.
* Scroll in Spotify for example.
* Right click menu for example on desktop takes second or two to show up without the usual animation. Just pops up with delay.
The list goes on and on...

Playing games so far is fine. I get what I expected for this money and graphics chip (GTX 1050Ti).

My problem here is that all the drivers from dell and even from Intel wont fix the problem when im using the native 4K resolution on desktop... which is weird because the google is full of these kind of problems that people are having with the same exact model (7567 4K edition).

Is there a Dell representative here that could tell me what can I do because clearly it does not seem to be a hardware issue. How long do I have to wait for new drivers to come out which could fix the problem here?

When I change the resolution to 1080p ... its fine. Scrolling and moving windows are butter smooth but the 4K resolution is god awful.

I think Dell would have tested their laptop before the released it to the publi... Read more

Hello! I have dell inspiron 7567 and fps in some games are awful. In CS GO i have only 100 fps on very low quality( my previous laptop had 150 fps and it was not as good as dell). In Overwatch i have similar problem. I think, the problem is in processor, cause fps is similar on different settings. Is someone know, what to do?

I recently bought a dell 15 7567 with 4k screen.  It has backlight bleeding on three corners. More pronuced on left top and bottom side. . Even at 20% brightness there is still backlight bleeding.
Will dell fix it?

Answer:Dell inspiron 15 7567 backlight bleed

Hi navneetskht,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Request you to please run a test on the LCD screen, to initiate power on the system while holding down the letter D key. The screen will display multiple colors and change to solid colors red, blue and green, check if the back-light bleed is still present on the LCD screen. Also check the system in the BIOS page to see, if you notice the back-light bleed. Please send us a picture on private message, of the LCD screen so that we can replace it as per your warranty entitlement on the system service tag.
Kindly get back if there are any further queries.
For me to better assist in troubleshooting, please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.

Hi all,
I purchased a Dell inspiron 7567 laptop in mid to late January of this year. After a couple months, I had an issue with the battery not charging. I contacted support and searched different solutions, and all of them said to remove the battery and restart the laptop, then reinstall the battery. This worked temporarily. I had the problem again not long after, but again the solution worked. Recently, however, the problem has resurfaced. I've tested every solution I can find, I've contacted support and tried their solution, and nothing has worked. When I boot up the system and look at the bios, the AC adapter is recognized and working. When I look at the battery in the Dell Power Manager, it is confirmed to be a Dell battery. The health of the battery states unknown, and I've read that this could mean that the battery itself is bad, but since this problem has occurred before saying the same thing and then later been resolved and since the system is only 6 months old, I have a difficult time believing that the battery is bad. There is a BIOS update I can download, but with the system at 0% there is no way to install it without risk to the laptop. Dell support has told me I will need to send it in for repairs and pay for any parts needed, but I require the laptop for classwork and such, and sending my laptop away for 2 weeks would only be detrimental. My question is is this a common problem with this system, and if so is there a solution I haven't found yet.... Read more

Hi guys,     This is my first time posting on these forums. I wanted to ask whether there is a setting that can either prolong or permanently keep the back light from shutting down or not? Where I work it can get pretty dark and I find it a hassle to look at the keyboard in order to find where each key is at. Would be really grateful for any help.

I have an Inspiron 15 7000 7567 with i7 1TB HHD+256GB SSD.
I have been having the issues many people have been having and now I can't find a solution to my newest one.
First, I had the grey lined screen appear from sleeping, which was solved with the BIOS update 1.2.0 and the new driver updates.
Since then I have had numerous other random symptoms. First, the screen flickers a couple times when turning on. Second, when unplugged everything freaks out for a second and then returns to normal. By freaks out I mean that sound distorts and video freezes. Third, there have been one BSOD with the unexpected kernel mode trap and one unexpected restart with no explanation in the event viewer except Event 41.
I contacted Dell support and they were less than helpful, turning off hardware acceleration in chrome and uninstalling and reinstalling graphic drivers.
My largest problem though has only become noticeable since that call, which is that any video eats up a large portion of CPU and GPU relative to what is normal and the laptop starts to work very hard, heating up a little and making noise. I checked this with both Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and two different video sites.
I downloaded and installed the newest Intel graphics driver that just came out ( ,A05) and just checked to see if it solved the problem. It did not.
I am in contact with Dell support but they take forever. Does anyone have any suggestion or solution? Thanks in adv... Read more

I recently (June 2017) bought a Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 computer with Windows 10 installed.
My problem is that I need to do this operation, that I mention and I can not do it since the Bios contains the Function Key Behavior
1. Restart your Dell laptop.
2. Watch the boot screen. Look for the notation at the bottom instructing you to "Press the XX key to enter system BIOS." In most Dell laptops, this will be noted as the "F2" key, but this may differ on your system. When the message appears, hold down the appropriate key to enter the BIOS screen.
3. Navigate to the "Advanced" tab by pressing the right arrow key.
4. Scroll down to "Function Key Behavior" on the "Advanced" tab by pressing the down button. Press "Enter."
5. Press the up/down arrow keys to move the selection to "Multimedia Key First."
6. Press "F10" to save your settings and exit.
7. Allow the system to reboot for the changes to take effect.
Question: How can I make these changes
Thanks in advance.

Okay so,for some reason my internet upload and download speed are constantly limited and its only on this laptop.(wireless) I'm suppose to be getting around 20mbps download and 13mbps upload just like my other devices. But right now,i'm only getting 10.6mbps download and 0.8 mbps download. My router is a tp-link archer c7 ac1750.i contacted tp-link for the router and microsoft for the windows just incase the problem might be one of those but it isn't.So i'm just wondering if it may be the laptop. my internet setting are set to normal,2.4ghz auto everything.i tried with the 5.0ghz but it's still the same problem. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Answer:Inspiron 15 7567 gaming. Internet problem.

It is hard to suggest anything without specifics regarding your Wireless adapter and local network.  I assume you are using the original Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165?
The up and down speeds you indicate are a little different from standard, what type of internet connection do you have?
Have you run a Network Troubleshooter?  Have you determined the problem is from your router to your system and not related to Internet speeds?
There are many threads on this system and wireless problems.  Have you seen any of those?

Yesterday I have bought Inspiron 7567 with preinstalled Ubuntu. I have added an M.2 SSD and installed Windows 10 FCU 1709 x64 and some things do not work within it.
1) The manual says to use Fn+H to configure the front status indicator for power state or hard drive activity. In my case this switch does nothing and the indicator is always flashing for hard drive. Interesting, that right after buying the laptop, it was actually showing power state, but it changed somehow and I cannot restore it.
2) The keys Fn+F11/F12 do not affect screen brightness at all. Changing brightness in Windows Mobility Center doesn't work too. I can change brightness in BIOS only.
3) Quickset application doesn't open. I see two icons in the system tray: "9" which responds to NumLock, and greyed lock which does nothing. Both icons do not react to left and right, single and double clicks. I have tried to remove and reinstall Quickset, it didn't change anything.
I have found a similar question on this forum, but there is no solution:

Answer:Inspiron 7567 - Fn keys and Quickset problems

As you might have guessed, my system in Windows acts as expected.  Since you are also running Ubuntu, it might be related to that.
How are you booting the system?  Since the FN keys operation can be changed in the Bios, using Grub to boot into Windows may alter that operation.
Have you tried rebooting to reset the function?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7567 1050 TI Ver.
My problem is that when am closing my laptop screen (not shutting down) like putting it on sleep mode. Then opening it back back i get a grey screen. After i get the grey screen i can't really do much after that, my only option is holding the power button til it shuts down. My friend has the same laptop as me and he has this problem too.I don't really know what the cause of this problem maybe its not new windows update but i don't think so cause some people i know don't have the problem that i have.
I hope some of you people know how to fix it. Thank you in advance
Here is how it looks like:

Answer:Dell Inspiron 15 7567 grey screen

The gray screen appears to be cause by an out dated / corrupt Video driver. Lately, there have been a lot of complaints about gray / vertical screen. You're able to get into windows ?
Note: I'm hoping one of the forum Dell reps see this thread and report this problem to the Dell team.

Hi,I recently purchased a inspiron 15 (7567). It has the combo 3.5 jack. My headset is a Hyper x Cloud which also is a 3.5 jack. I am getting the popup when I plug in the mic but I can't find any traces of the microphone and can't get it to work at all. Any help would be appreciated.Alex

Answer:Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567, Headset mic not working

If it has the 3.5 jack and you aren't using an adapter, make sure it is plugged in so you see none of the barrel.  It may take some extra pressure.
If you have it plugged in, pull up the Playback devices window from the speaker icon and let us know if it shows "Speakers/Headphones" or just "Speakers".

Lately id'v been having an issue with fps capping to 60-61 and the only fix is too disable full screen optimizations. It wouldn't been such an issue if it didn't cause extreme horizontal tearing at all times.
Also if hit win+G to open the gamebar the fps goes back to uncapped and i disabled all vsync and turned off all windows dvr and such.
