Twice Now During Installation of 24 Computers Windows 10 Has Disrupted The Installation of Office 2016 (Paid For)

Question: Twice Now During Installation of 24 Computers Windows 10 Has Disrupted The Installation of Office 2016 (Paid For)

The problem occurs after Windows 10 installs the latest Windows 10 updates. The first occurrence of difficulty produced deletion of all the Office applications from their respective directories. The second occurrence produced a transition from
"activated" to "not activated' in Office. Many, many numbers had to be read over the phone to Microsoft to regain "activated" status. This won't do.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Microsoft Office 2016 won't finish installing, it has been stuck on "finalizing installation. This may take a few minutes" for over a half an hour now. the progress bar is about three quarters full and has been for more than a half an hour. I googled the problem but only junk results came up. I googled the message again in quotes but only results pertaining to Office XP and Windows XP showed up, way too old and outdated to be of any relevance now days.

Can anybody help me get the ball rolling?

Hello Team,
Installed Office 2016 64 bit on Windows 8.1 64 bit
Installation was successful but soon as we try to launch Excel,Word etc this error (api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll is missing ) pops up
Is it the issue with VC++ REDIST 2015 update1 not getting installed correctly? along with MS Office 2016?,but installation was fine without any errors
We tried reinstalling VC++ REDIST 2015 ,it can an option to repair and uninstall as if its already there and so we removed and tried installing again and got "Unspecified error "
Came to know for installing VC++ REDIST 2015 need to have a patch installed (Windows8.1-KB2999226-x86.msu),which is already available in MSOffice 2016 installation folder under hotfixes.
Tried manual installation of Windows8.1-KB2999226-x86.msu and it said this is not applicable to your machine
So forcefully installed this Windows8.1-KB2999226-x86.msu using DISM.exe command and it got installed.
And after the above patch installation installed VC++REDIT 2015 update1 successfully,
Tried launching Excel got the same error as mentioned earlier
Uninstalled Office and Reinstalled with REDIST already installed ,still same error on opening Excel etc
but only this VC REDIST will get installed, if we try VC++ REDIST normal setup without update1 it will give error ( we tried after removing the existing VC++ REDIST with update1)
Please suggest help how to fix ?,is it a com... Read more

So I was trying to install Office 2016 Pro Plus (Volume licence) and every time I try it just ends up with Microsoft Office encountered an error during setup. This is incredibly frustrating and I have no idea why it's happening (since it doesn't display any specific error message) and was wondering if someone could help me out with this.

I simply start setup.exe, click on customise and run all from my computer from the first box which just says Microsoft Office (workplace tutorial says to do so) and then just click Install now, then after 5 or so minutes it just comes up with the message "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 encountered an error during setup", with the only other option being to either click the question mark (which just opens a generic help page) or click close.

Now here's the thing, before I upgraded Windows 10 to the anniversary update I had Office installed from this method but office always acted weird (such as the whole word window acting unresponsive if I were to minimise it and then re-opening it after I check something in chrome), so just before upgrading I uninstalled office and was hoping to re-install once I got upgraded, yet now the installation fails every time.
I initially thought maybe this was because there were leftover files from the uninstall but after following a manual uninstall guide from Microsoft it still failing to install, so now I'm in dire need of help.

Searched the forums but did not come up with this problem being posted here yet. so apologies if I missed it am repeating this.

I have a Windows 10 on my computer and recently acquired a copy of Office 2016 Professional through Hubby's work for a discount. However We have been trying for 3 days now to install it and it will not complete the installation. The most common problem being that it hangs at 90% and just sits there and won't progress any further even after being left over night.

I have tried posting this problem on the Microsoft Community boards but they have been less than helpful in finding a solution. Of the things they have suggested, I tried them all but to no avail. The suggestions they gave that I have tried are as follows:

"Follow these steps and download Office 2016 again:
First, check the type of internet connection you are using (Wired or Wireless)? If you are using a wireless connection then you may try to hardwire the connection.
Try downloading Office 2016 now and check if you are able to install Office 2016 normally.
In case the above step still does not work then follow these steps.

Stop the Print Spooler service from Services.msc.Disable the Anti-Virus/Security Software for a while, until you complete installing Office 2016.
Check if you are able to install Office 2016 now."

Nope didn't work, and my computer ishardwired. Next advice they gave was as follows and also didn't work:

So I installed Office 2016 and a random file appeared directly on the C drive in no folder. The file is called, "WindowsMSUIGHUB.tt2". Does anyone know what this file is and if it's just some temporary file I'm safe to remove? I don't really want this file here as it looks ugly but I don't want to remove if it it's required for anything. Anyone have any idea what this is?

Answer:Random File After Office 2016 Installation

WINDOWSMSUIGHUB is a temporary file for MS office. There are downloaded files for office excel powerpoint etc. and those can be delete safely after installing the updates.

Machine is Toshiba L70-C-13c, Windows 10 Home, 64 Bit, Core I3, 8Gb, Toshiba 1TB Disk.

Originally, the primary problem was that ITunes wasn't syncing IPad. From Apple help, noticed that USB hub controller was not detected, and that Apple USB driver was not being activated. Simply wasn't there, after numerous fixes. Spoke to Apple, went up to them, they suggested doing reinstall of Windows

Notice from McAfee reports that administrator account wasn't complete, which was puzzling. It's a Toshiba disk, which I find notoriously unreliable.

Windows was restored. Restore took 7 hours, yip, suggesting something possibly wrong with the disk. It did do a clean disk, half through the operation, and after completed, reinstalled ITunes, iPad synced right away, with the Apple USB driver activating correctly, in the USB device hierarchy, shown in device manager, and disappearing after sync was completed. So the original problem was fixed.

Did a short DST test, and it came back OK Looked at SMART diagnostics and they were fine as well. So disk seems to be in good condition considered it only 12 months old and managed to install a bundle of software, which went in fine.

So we come to the 1603 error on install of Office 2013 x 64.

Worked the problem according to Microsoft. Enabled logging by setting up a config.xml and loading it on the command line. Verbose logging showed some error codes, below.

Are there any differences between office 365 home and office 2016 pro when you compared their installations of word, excel, power point and publisher?
For example, is Word from O365 the same as Word in Office 2016? Or does one have more options/features than the other?

Is there any way to define an installation directory other than C: for office 2016? I tried installing it a few months ago and there didn't seem to be via the installer, and the Office Deployment Tool didn't let to choose the installation target directory, only the source.

How could they think for one second that it was appropriate to strip this option out of the installer?

I've had about enough of Microsoft's "fuck you, we know best" attitude. I just stopped using Windows 10 due to how increasingly difficult it had become to prevent indiscriminate automatic driver updates.

Hi all,

I've just had a computer with a HDD error and have run a repair installation of Windows XP on it. This was successful however when trying to open Office programs and also Access the programs and core files seem to be damaged. I tried doing repair installations on these but errors came up, so I uninstalled Office 2007, cleaned the registry with CCleaner and then tried to install again off the CD. This threw up errors again. The error code is Error 2908. Please provide me with some advice urgently.

TIA

The operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Professional, version 2002 and Service Pack 2.

I changed over to the paid AVG Internet Security 8.0 build 93 (5/5/2008) from the free AVG 7.5. I have received my new license number via internet, and downloaded the software to my Desktop. AVG 7.5 was uninstalled as well as all the other anti-virus/security product on my computer. To my knowledge, there is nothing of the above products left on the PC.

When I try to install AVG 8.0, the following keeps coming up “Another anti-virus/security product is currently installed on this computer….. Please remove it before installing AVG 8.0” I really cannot find any thing else on the PC. In the end I ignored the above warning and carried on with the installation. The next notice came up “INSTALLATION FAILED! 1 error and 11 warnings occurred”. It do not allow me to complete the installation.

I have notified AVG Technical Support twice about this problem but up to now they did not reply to my query.

I do not have any anti-virus protection since 24th May 2008.

Please can somebody help me?
Hanre

Answer:AVG 8.0 paid version - Installation Problem

Put the names of your previous security programs one by one into Start>Search>Files and folders. This should bring up any remnants of them.

I do this every time I remove a program regardless of the porocedure.

I just installed "eight" with no trouble. Actually it found "7.5" on my system and removed it automatically during the installation.

I have just joined this group so sorry if this sort of question been asked before.I am running XP sp3 and needed to upgrade to AVG 2011 had been running 8.5 with no problems but was time to renew. The installation looked fine no problems and even updated the first time after installation. Next morning or reboot it got to windows nearly loaded then all of a sudden a black screen and the system shut down.I have since then tried everything. I couldn't use the power button to start up until I had unplugged and tried again, then it worked. I could reboot to safe mode (which I am in now)but can't find any solution have used removal tool to take avg off I can not scan for virus etc as can not complete installation now as when gets to same point it goes to black screen and shuts down. AVG will not help as they say as their software has been removed then it is nothing to do with them if it is still doing it. I feel there is some file missing or been corrupted by AVG installation and I can not find out what it is to repair or replace.I had shut down so many times XP wanted to scandisks but of course it only got so far then shut down and in the end wouldn't even boot in safe mode. I then had to do a repair inplace from windows XP cd and got back the safe mode. In full mode it got the old problem of shutting down as windows was nearly loaded.I was going to to use AVG rescue cd but it only got so far and then black screen and shut down. I purchased 5 Lenovo computers last July - September 2012.  We were ready to upgrade our computers and try a new company.  We went to Office Depot and decided to purchase a new computer for myself and my husband.  After purchasing those 2, we decided to purchase 3 more computers for our sons and my sister.  For those, we purchased 2 Thinkpad Y580s and a G580 online in September 2012. My sister helped to purchase the computers for my boys for Christmas and also paid me back for her own.  The computers have been so so in performance. We've had issues with 3 of the 5 computers. I had some issues with my computer and sent it in for repair. They fixed it and sent it back pretty fast but never fixed the USB ports. Unfortunately, I didn't notice and didn't send it back to them before the end of the warranty period.   I can live with that and possibly bring the computer in for repair myself, however, I believe that there might be a general problem with the Lenovo USB ports since my sister's and son's computers have a problem with the ports as well. Idk.The real problem that I am having is that I found out that Lenovo doesn't send out the installation disks or software with the computers!!  They don't make sure the consumer is aware of that when they purchase it.  This is not the norm and therefore, I think it is necessary that they tell the consumer and let them know that AFTER the Warrranty period elapses that they will not give them thes... Then after it is downloaded and I go to run it I get the following Windows Installer message: "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package". I'd like to purchase the 2016 HP Envy 15" (touch optional) notebook. I'm hoping to buy it in its base model configuration as seen here: http://store.hp.com/us/en/ConfigureView?catalogId=10051&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&storeId=10151&catEntr... I'm wondering if I can purchase separately and install an M.2 SSD to run alongside the 1TB HDD.  Is there an empty M.2 bay waiting to be filled with this configuration?

Answer:Aftermarket installation of M.2 SSD (2016 Hp Envy 15t)

Hi, Be carefull, buying single storage with only HDD you may ending up no M.2 slot. I saw many members did not know that UNTIL open the case. I would pay $70 more to get 256GB PCIe® NVMe? M.2 SSD and then add a new HDD or SSD to it for storage later. You need to buy suitable HDD case and cable before you can add. Regards.

One thing I never activated the home and student before downloading the purchased office pro. the office pro key worked so I didn't think I needed it.
After all the trouble with the pro I uninstalled pro and tried to use the home and student. the product key worked on it also. but the same thing happens
I get the error box

windows is checking for a solution to the problem
then it changes to

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have just received brand new computer - O/S is Windows XP (SP 3). All is working, managed to download and install SP 3 but there are about 12 updates that have been auto downloaded from MS but they refuse to install.

I have Eset SS for internet security, but even if I disable both the firewall and anti virus functions, the installation fails for all 12 updates.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get these downloads (some of which are marked as critical) to install pls

See the report from the update installation below

Answer:[SOLVED] Installation of Windows XP & Office Updates Keep Failing

Give this a try:
There are a number of things that can break Windows Update in Windows XP, including performing a repair/reinstall. For a fix, try these next steps:

Open Notepad or WordPad and copy/paste the following text:

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml2.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
end

Save the file to your desktop as UpdatesFix.cmd (you'll have to click the "Save As Type…. Dropdown arrow on the right of the selection window and select "All Files" before you click the Save button).

If you'd rather not try the batch file, you can enter each line in the Run box one at a time and click OK after each one.

Double-click the UpdatesFix.cmd file; a command window will open, and you'll see a series of dialogue boxes saying DLLRegisterServer in *.dll succeeded. Click OK to step through the process.
Once all the dll's have been successfully reregistered visit the Windows Update site and try the Windows updates again to see if it works correctly.
Often you will have to download and install Windows Installer 3.1 and the Windows Genuine Advantage tool before you can download any more updates.

Hi Magna,
In my humble opinion, i'd never pay for an AV.
Use the free version they supply and the built in windows firewall,
common sense provides the rest of the support you pay for.

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this topic but I think it is.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows 7. Recently I made the decision to restore my system to "out-of-the-factory" settings using the Toshiba program that came with the computer to do this. This went well.

when this was done, the computer restarted, and after the normal start-up screen, it began installing windows.

About halfway through this process, my brother decided it would be funny to turn off the computer in the middle of the installation.

when I turned the computer back on, it went to the windows installation again, but very soon an error message came up saying

"the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."

However, after pressing OK, the computer restarts, but the same error message comes up, leaving me in a loop.

So is there anything I can do to fix this? Or does my brother owe me a new computer?

Btw I don't care about losing data, I have everythign backed-up on an external hard drive.

Answer:"Computer restarted unexpectedly....windows installation cannot proceed" installation loop.

I think you need to reformat C: (delete the partition) and (redo partition) using ntfs drive and restart the installation. Do you have a OS Windows Disk?

Hi Guys,

I have a problem installing Windows Vista. The installation process works fine until after the 1st reboot that goes to "completing installation". It completely freezes at that point and after 1 hour or so goes to a black screen where i can see nothing but my mouse pointer.

I just got my laptop 2 days ago and it's brand new Vista compatible. In fact it came with Vista installed and it was working perfectly fine until I decided to reformat it so that I could check if my new hd i tried installing was the main reason for this installation failure.

I saw a post with similar problems explaining that the BIOS was in need to be updated, but my BIOS is up to date and vista compatible.

My laptop specs are as follows:

Inspiron 1720, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 800Mhz, 4M L2 Cache
2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2
256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600
17.0 inch Wide Screen UXGA+ TLLCD
Integrated 10/100 Network Cardand Modem,

Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy

Can someone please help me out! Thanks.

Hello,
I was trying to install windows XP home edition in my custom build desktop. Every time I tried to format my hard drive and install windows its coming back with not copying so many files from windows setup. Sometimes its copying the files when I pressed enter but sometimes I had to press esc to skip the file. I tried reformatting and every time it ended up in not copying some different files. These are the steps I have done so far
1) I replaced my optical drive with a brand new cd drive to make sure its reading the disc properly
2) I checked hard disk in BIOS hard drive test and its came back with no errors in it
3) I tried with 3 different windows installation disc to eliminate errors due to scratches on cd surface.

Could anybody please tell me what else I can do to complete my installation properly. Thanks in advance

I am trying to install Windows 7 on my laptop. When I click on "upgrade" it takes me to a compatibility report that says "the computer started using the windows installation disc. Remove the installation disc and restart your computer so that windows starts normally." When I remove the disc and try to restart the computer, it takes me to a black screen with a bunch of computer gibberish on it and says "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". In other words, I am getting a message from windows 7 telling me to reboot my computer without the windows 7 disc, but the computer WILL NOT reboot without the disc. When I click on "custom (advanced)" instead of "upgrade", it takes me to a page that says "where do you want to install windows?" with a blank box and a message at the bottom that says "no drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"
I have tried everything in my capacity as someone who sucks with computers and need help from someone who doesn't. Thanks for the help.

I Installed Office 2010 and this changed my Windows Update Settings Permanently.
I know it was due to some option I choose in the Office Installation ( cannot remember the name ), as I was able to avoid this issue with another Installation of Office 2010.
I want to reset my Windows Update to my previous setting prior to Office 2010 installation.
I have always chosen the Windows Update Option "Let me know of updates but chose when to download and install "
After installation of Office 2010 this is now set to "Never Check for updates" and the box is greyed out with no option to change and also now says "Some settings are managed by your system administrator". This was never the case prior to the Office 2010 install. Now I have to manually check for updates.
I have ran all the MS Fix It tools, etc and nothing has resolved issue.
I have now removed MS Office 2010 and the problem still remains.

Answer:Office 2010 installation has changed my Windows Update Settings

That looks like the screen you get from an Standard User account, rather than an Admin account.

I can tell you categorically that Office didn't make the changes you're seeing there. It may however be malware.

Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM Premium' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

Quarantine everything it finds

Answer:Windows Xp Home Edition/ Office Installation Permission Problems

Well, it seems that you have several situations that need address.

a. I suggest you run chkdsk.

b. I further suggest you uninstall/reinstall Office 2003 (seems to be a problem only with that version).

c. If not a legitimate copy of XP (question arises in my mind), consider leaving it uninstalled and using Open Office.

d. A repair install of XP (up to current standards) appears to be in order.

e. Check Event Viewer for errors, particularly re the hard drive.

Hi, all. I'm in the middle of installing Windows 7 Pro x64, but it's giving me the message "Installing an unsigned 64-bit device driver is not supported and might result in an unstable Windows installation". This occurs after I click "Load Driver" and select my Rapid Storage Tech driver from my USB stick.

This is the driver I'm trying to install: Lenovo Support - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver Windows 7 (64-bit), Vista (64-bit) and XP (64-bit) - ThinkPad

I've even tried rebuilding my Windows 7 image in RT Seven Lite with the "Force Unsigned driver integration" checkbox checked. I still get the message after burning that ISO, and retrying the installation. How do I force unsigned driver installation?

Answer:[SOLVED] Unsigned Driver Installation During Windows 7 Installation

Nevermind, I just let the install finish as normal, and I haven't gotten any bluescreens. For future thread visitors, just make sure your SATA mode in the BIOS is set to "AHCI", and not "Compatibility", and you should be fine.

What should have been a straight forward installation of a new SSD (that I have done before) has turned into a nightmare.

First of all I attached the hardrive and installed windows 7 without a hitch. Then for some reason the installation got corrupted (I think in my haste I restarted the comp while it was installing a million updates). No problem I thought, I?ll format the hdd and install it again. This is where things started to go wrong.
First of all I got the bootmgr missing error when trying to install from the disk so I created a bootable usb pen and everything seemed to be going fine, however when the system reboots it hangs on completing Installation and after 5 mins or so I get the BSoD (restarts too quick of me to read) and the comp restarts. I?ve spent hours/days trawling the forums and trying various fixes but none seem to work for me

- Disconnected everything when window reinstall during installation that I can (keyboard, mouse
- Disconected everything I Can from the MB ? wireless adapter, 3 sticks of ram (Left with 1 stick of 1GB), optical drive

Answer:Installation Problem of MS Office 2007 SP1 Update on Windows Vista Home Premium

I would say that the simple solution is probably to do a repair install of Office 2007. There is, however a KB that addresses this problem for Office 2003, which may apply to 2007: How to troubleshoot common Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server Update Services installation issues

Hopefully that helps.

I did an upgrade installation from Office 2003 PRO to Office 2010 PRO. I had several issues with Access denied on C:\Config.msi. I usually select retry and all is well. I think I may have missed one of the retries before I did the system restart.
Now I get an error 2203 whenever I reboot, and the Office 2003 installer keeps popping up anytime I try to do anything.
I tried uninstalling Office 2003 and was told that I had a corrupted install. I tried re-installing it and it seems to just hang.
I also tried to uninstall and repair Office 2010.

I'm at a loss at this point.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You could try booting into Safe Mode (F8 on startup) where you can choose to force unsigned driver installs in Windows 64-bit.

I think you can also do it by changing Group Policy parameters: Disable Driver Signing in Windows 7

Hello, Recently, my system was found to be infected with malware and was removed with assistance from Moderators- Pizza and Pepsi/Boopme here in this forum. However, I'm not able to to update MS Office 2007 to service pack 3 and it may or may not be due to malware infection found in the system. Additionally, upon PC bootup, an error screen with Window XP Advanced options Menu shows up every time. It must be noted that I'm able to logon to Windows XP in Normal mode without any issues. Malware infections detected by MBAM and ESETSCan were RECYCLERS- Rogue.FakeAV and Win32/MessengerPlus.A application variant. They were quarantined and removed successfully. I just got 3 brand new computers that are all running windows 7. None of them came with a reinstall disc.

They keep telling me to create a "Recovery DVD". I began burning one on one of my laptops, it then decided to inform me that I actually need 4 DVDs. I don't have that many. Not to mention this doesn't sound like something I can create a clean install off of.

So what exactly are they expecting me to do without an installation disc? Is there a piece of shareware or something I can use to create a new installation disc? Maybe even a torrent of a clean disc (not cracked, I have legal keys)?

Thanks

Is it just me, or everyone having the new 10512 build windows 10 mobile, that the office apps are asking for an office 365 subscription for re editing documents? We had this free on WP8.1, even though with less features, we could re edit documents. This is a bad move from MS, and I really don't like the theory of subscription for office. Why, you could get full office for the price you pay for a 3 year subscription. Can I get it for free?

I keep hearing that Linux is very hard to install and it is hard to use
Well the hard to use is just reletive: If you are use to Nokia phones then a Motorola is hard to use

But as to the installation process it seems that Windows is actually harder (and extreamly dumb) when it comes to Linux

Be it to a BASE installation or a full-fledge desktop Linux winds hands-down on ease and on speed

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-387405-highlight-.html

Answer:Windows installation vs Linux installation

maybe as far as installing a fedora core 4, ubuntu, suse, or mandrake....but if you asked someone that has just installed windows before to go and install gentoo from scratch they'd have an anyeurism with all the stuff they have to do from the command line. Cause if it didnt pick up all the hardware right away things get tricky if you have no clue where to start to look to get things up and running.

Half the fun of installing gentoo or another linux distribution from scratch is the sense of accomplishment from setting up the OS *exactly* how you want it.

I'm looking into upgrading to a FiOs connection for my houses network, but to install multiple computers on the initial installation, the website says it costs an additional $90..

Im confused as to WHY I need to pay this $90.. Is this because they have to install more hardware or software to the extra computers? Or is so they can do the "labor" and just run CAT5 cables or configure wireless settings?
I already have CAT5 cables to the rooms with the comuters.. So can I just hook those cables up to the modem/roughter they provide and bypass that whole expense?

Answer:Installation: Connecting multiple computers to a FiOs connection?

What's FiOs?

Yes, you can use a router to connect several computers to the same internet connection.

Reboot, then once you have rebooted CTRL/ALT/DEL and close all programs except Explorer, Then try the install again.

1. Click Start Orb.
2. In the search box, type winword and hit enter.

Does Word open up?

Repeat the above, but this time type excel, and hit enter.

First I got an error that the Windows Installer isn't working so I copied that file from my other PC and replaced it. That did the job. During the installing of Office, I get an error about MSOHELP and MSOHTMED. Replacing these files didn't help. After the installation is complete, I can't open up any of the applications - I get a blue screen.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I understand that Microsoft allows you to install a program on your PC that
was purchased separately on one laptop. Can't find info about this on MS
website. Forget contacting them!

How do I go about this? Just install the program in the same way it was done
on the primary PC and enter the license?

Thanks!!

There are lots of versions and flavors of Office available. You'd have to read the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the specific version you're considering to find out what the restrictions are.

Hi guys,

I hope you can help me. I am in the process of moving from Windows 7 to Mac Book Pro. I purchased Office 11 for MAC on a disc. My Mac Book Pro doesn't have a disc drive but I assumed I could download the trial version of Office 11 and then install the licence key I purchased. This plan is fine only I cannot find Office 11 trial. The only free downloads I can find are SP updates to trial software. I have copied the files from the MS office disc I purchased to a USB drive but I am unable to start the installation as Mac Book asks me which application to use to start the install. Can you assist me in the installation from the USB drive? Or advise any other steps I can take in order to install my copy of MS Office 11?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why does the installer not recognize that this file is there??

Hi,I've lost my original CD for Office Pro 2003 but I need to reinstall it as something seems to be corrupted. I have no idea what this is or what to do with it - system builder pack sounds scary to me, so have never opened the box and it is still sealed. Will this let me re-install it? Hi all,

A while back I updated my Office 03 install to 07. After updating, I found that Outlook 07 was slow and laborious so I removed it and re-installed the 03 version. Ever since, things havent really worked. After closing any Office program it says "x program has encountered an error and needs to close" together with its whole error reporting dialogue. Outlook has stopped functioning, sending me error messages. Now that I have them both uninstalled and my registry cleaned, how do you think I should proceed in order to get Outlook 03 and Office 07 on my system? I'm sorry, I cant tell you what the error messages were because they are both uninstalled.

Any help would be much appreciated, especially some kind of guide to the installation procedure to get these two working together.

Many thanks,

Daniel

Hey,

I'm having real trouble with Microsoft Office 2007.
First of all i tried removing the program from add/remove programs but it kept on messing up and not responding so i resorted to Revo Uninstaller. This didn't work so then i just deleted the program files to see if that would get it off the add/remove programs list. Didn't work! Now when i try to uninstall it, it says something like your system does not support the language package and then it rolls back the uninstallation.

But....
Now i have installed a few 3rd party programs like Bandwidth Monitor and Mp3 to Wav convertor. When they load up it always says it is configuring microsoft office installer and i have to click cancel about 5 times to get it to stop.
I have uploaded the sequence of pictures.

Please Help

Thanks

Answer:Microsoft Office Installation?

What kind of problems were you having with Office in the first place?
Did you try to repair the installation first, before you tried uninstalling?

I imagine the fact that you deleted some installation files/applications that you are having more problems.

It is possible that the new applications you installed replaced the registry entries that were previously used by the deleted office applications - hence the initialisation of the installer for "install on first use"

i suggest you use a system restore point if you have one from previous to you deleting the applications and try to repair office, second option would be third party uninstallers to see if they do the job and a registry healer

I would like to perform an Office 2003 Installation for RIS. As such, I want to install it, so that it does not ask for product key/activation before the install, but rather, it asks for product key on first launch of the program.

(We do not have an open license for it and purchase licenses individually, so I need to be able to manually enter the keys)

Any ideas?

Basically, like when you buy a computer from an OEM, how it comes (when you launch an office app it asks for the product key and activation) that is how I want to be able to install it...

Thanks.

You need to do this using the Custom Installation Wizard in the Resource Kit and a GPO to push the installation out...or use an administrative image (what I do).

Hi folks. I recently purchased MS Office Pro 2007. It came with two installation discs. After loading the first disc, I noticed that the directions said the installation was complete with no mention of the second disc. I have begun to get a problem when using Office 2003. When I tried to start Excel, for instance, it attempted to INSTALL the program, rather than run it. So I inserted the CD and tried to repair it, and then to reinstall the suite, but each time I get an error message saying, in short, "file not found - <CD drive>:\Office\O1561403.CAB". But I have checked in the CD, and the file is there. So I can't run the program, and I cannot install it or repair it. The only other course I can think of is to uninstall the whole suite and reinstall it, but, first, I don't know that that will work either, and secondly, I would lose all my templates and custom dictionaries which I have built up over years.

I am running XP Home, with only one account, with full Administrator privileges. Can anyone help, please?

Later: I have found that the problem only occurs with Excel. Publisher, Outlook and Word all run ok, except that, in Word, blank pages and templates start from the very top, with no top margin and no way of creating one.

We have installed Office Small Business Edition on a Windows Millenium laptop. The user then requested that she needed Access, so we uninstalled SBE then installed Office 2000 Professional.

We are stopped during setup. It claims that the CD Key we are using for the Office 2K Pro setup was invalid. The key is not invalid since we use it all the time (we are still in sneaker net)

The SBE did have its own CD key. Is the CD Key still in the registry? How do we take it out?

Answer:Office 2000 Installation

The only thing I can think is that you need to uninstall SBE completely by using Eraser 2000.

Start here:

Eraser wipes the registry, uninstall doesn't.

OK, this one is a doozy, since I pride myself on handling windows. I'll be VERY impressed if someone can figure this one out. Here goes.

I installed the Outlook 2000 email security update (http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/2000/downloadDetails/Out2ksec.htm)

I then noticed that I can't do mail merges from Excel to Word to Outlook. Apparently, I need to uninstall OFFICE and then reinstall it in order to eliminate the security feature.

I uninstalled.

I reinstalled.

My Office applications no longer functioned.

I used the Windows ME System Restore feature and went back to an earlier date.

Now, however, whenever I try to Auto Run my Windows CD, I get the error
OFF2000: Error Message: The Feature You Are Trying to Use Is on a Network Resource That Is Unavailable
-as detailed on http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q256/8/96.ASP

I downloaded the SR 1 patch from http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#o2sr1au and followed the directions, attempting to edit the keys in my registry to match up with the corrupted or deleted .msp file. No luck.

I don't know what other information to provide you with, but I hope this is a start. I am at my wit's end.

Thanks.
