My Lenovo Ideapad 320 has some hardware body problem (Some dents)

Question: My Lenovo Ideapad 320 has some hardware body problem (Some dents)

Hi. I have a problem with my newly bought Lenovo Ideapad 320. I recently bought the laptop around 1 week ago. It is a great laptop with good specifications. Though I have noticed some rather dissapointing dents and other problems on the body of the laptop. Below are the pictures of the dents and some other problems too. As you can see in the picture, the touchpad is dented in a circular form. Some of the keyboard keys seem to be at faulty because. The height of the keyboard keys are not even. It looks like someone has violated the keys playing games or what not. The metal near the touchpad seems to be bending upward. These are the dents I mentioned above. I have tried reaching out to Lenovo Support by filling up the form online. Though it has come to a dead end since I have not received any reply. I hope the Lenovo moderator itself can help me through this problem. I paid a lot of money for this laptop and I was hoping for none other than a perfect condition for the laptop itself. It was rather dissapointing to face this problem. Here's hoping that this will be covered by my warranty. I'm hoping help from other users from Lenovo community too. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all, I've had this laptop two mobnths. On opening it one morning, two pins fell out of the hinge connecting the monitor to the keyboard. A further two fell out from the other side shorty afterwards. The monitor is now separating from the keyboard, almost totally on the left hand side. The pressure of whatever is going on is causing the screen casing to separate from the screen also. The screen can no longer stay upright, nor can it be closed. The hinge is completely broken.  I've made several attempts to contact lonovo to ask for help. the first by telephone. I was told I needed to register with the support department (as well as being registered as a lenovo customer) in order to receive support. The technician said she would send me an email of questions that I would need to answer in order to register before she could help me - that email never arrived. I have submitted multiple requests through the support sections of the website but no confimation that they have gone through - the screen just refreshes as if nothing has happened, and when I check the system has no record of my problem. In addition when I try to use the lenovo website to find approved technicians/ repair shops near me, the uk doesnt show as an option in the drop down menu, and When i try to use the location services they don't work. (nothing happens). This is my work laptop - I can't work without it, so I need a fix or replacment urgently. I am currently really very frustrated and unimpres... Read more

Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound. When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW.  Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting. At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.

as i know it's possible to use vt on lenovo, but you have to activate it first on bios.

if you don't have any option on bios for vt, try to flash bios update from here, if it doesn't work, post back and i'll try to look for another solutions.

i bought lenovo y560 like a year ago.Because of virus i had to install the win7 ultimate non geniune.Since my gpu is ati radeon mobility hd 5730,i downloaded the driver from both support and from amd.com.me gpu is not being detected.even in auto detect my hardware was not detected.it was workin fine before.it is givin a max resolution of 1024*768,which is actually 1366*768 my wifi and other wireless components cannot be selected using the fn button.please help!

Answer:graphic hardware not detected in lenovo ideapad y560

i have a y470 but it could be different for you..there are 2 main partitions (the C and D drive (or partition) )..the D partition should contain all the drivers bundled with the laptop (factory drivers)...When I fresh installed ultimate on my y470 i had the same issue..the resolution has to do with an intel or nvidia (ati in your case driver) video driver being missing... i just installed every driver from that "D" partition apart from the bloatware and it worked...if you dont have that partion, i suggest you visit lenovo's site and download the video drivers for your ideapad...hope this helps.

Hi, I have purchased Lenovo Z510 (model 59-398016) laptop yesterday and I was not able to find out how I can -1. Access BIOS2. Run a full hardware diagnostic test (just to ensure that all's well and I have no reason to return it to the vendor due to a manufacturing defect). I previously owned a Lenovo ThinkPad R61 model which had Lenovo ThinkVantage blue button which led me to Rescue & Recovery mode where I could do full system tests in once shot! I could not find an equivalent in my new Ideapad. Can anyone help? Thanks. Regards,Deepak Gupta

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Z510 full hardware diagnostic tests

To access you bios all you have to do is press the NOVO button and select "bios setup" in the pop up menu. Refer to the user's guide to locate the button. For other manual such as maintenance manual you can go to this link. There is no diagnostic program included in most of the ideapad series. So you can just probably choose a third party program if you want one. Hope this will get you started.

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if someone could direct me to the proper windows 8.1 professional drivers for my lenovo ideapad y470? I saw other threads but nothing specific and I want to make sure I have the right drivers. I installed the drivers from the official website, but I read something about using the old windows 7 energy management tool and some other things so I want to know I installed everything properly. Here are some screenshots of what I have installed and perhaps you could tell me if I need to uninstall or install something I missed?

Here is a screenshot to better help understand my issue:

Link to picture

1) What can I do about my (D: ) drive? Is it suppose to be there... How do I find out if my computer is actually using those drivers... I am fairly certain those in (C: ) are what is being used so I am confused about the (D: ) drive.

2) Looking at the (C: ) drive (if i'm right about it being what my computer is using) do I have the correct drivers installed?

My main concern is that my gfx card is functioning properly. Sometimes when I am playing a game it is very smooth and then it will get choppy then continue being smooth. It seems to happen on and off. it doesn't make the games unplayable but it seems strange to me and frustrating at times. These are games optimized with Nvidia GeForce Experience so I'd think there would be 0 fps lag? Maybe I am wrong and that is just how it works? How do I know my graph... Read more

Answer:Lenovo ideapad Y470 hardware upgrade + windows 8.1 pro (64 bit) drivers

D: drive is a hidden partition with drivers and applications that are installed during recovery. Seems like during update the information to hide this partition was lost. You don't have to do anything about it. Regarding hardware:The correct ram for your laptop is laptop DDR3 (so-dimm). The exact model should be DDR3-1600 or DDR3-PC12800 (same, different name). Watch out for DDR3L- those are for newer Haswell CPUs.There is a latch on the bottom side of the laptop where you can access RAM sticks. If you have only one- just buy another 4GB stick. Unless you do heavy graphic/video editing or are running Virtual Machines you won't benefit from more than 8GB of RAM. If you have already 2 sticks installed, then unfortunately you will have to replace them. You can go 2x8GB for 16GB of RAM, or save some money and buy 2x4GB.If Y470 has mSATA port, then it would be a good idea to buy a mSATA SSD. This way you'll have both SSD, and your old hard drive in your laptop. There's plenty to choose from. Read some reviews and comparisons on the internet. Stick with popular brands like OCZ, Crucial, Samsung, Plextor. 128GB should be enough for OS and apps as long as you keep all data like movies and pictures on your HDD.

My suggestion is to contact lenovo service cetre for the repair. The condition of your machine is due to malfunctioning surely. They might provide you concession until and unless you didnt overclock anything or you are under warranty. This is a serious issue.

Hello,A few days ago I've received my new Lenovo yoga 720 15". i've noticed that the bottom aluminium body plate is uneven and edges are curvy. I thought that this would not be a big problem, but the other day, after intensive use in an uncomfortable position whitch included me holding the laptop on the sides of the body. The uneven edge is too sharp for comfort. So, my question is, do I have a chance to change the product? Because I consider laptop to be defective. (otherwise, I really love the product )

Hi there, having an issue with my Ideapad & hoping someone might be able to help me narrow my issue down. Originally the anchors holding the hinges down all broke and I continued to use the laptop for some time without really noticing the problem. Eventually I noticed the screen would wobble a bit if it was bumped or moved in the slightest & soon after my video would start cutting out then being restored or i'd get a Bsod. Eventually opened the laptop up and figured out every anchor point for the hindges had snapped off the case, so I jb welded them all back into place and put it back together. Problem is, even after the anchors were fixed, the video would still cut out or bsod on me. I've narrowed my problem down to either the lcd cable, thinking it could possibly be pinched as a result of the hinges going out (Really hoping it's this). Damage to the motherboard as a result of the hinge on the left side pushing up on it from below whenever the lid was opened or when it bobbed (Would suck, since that'd mean needed a new motherboard) or posibly the hinge making contact with something or messing with the cord in some way whenever the lid is moved in a certain position. At the moment i'm able to use the laptop if I have the lid in a certain position, if I go to move it back (open more) the screen either doesn't come on at all or glitches out. Here are two pictures of my problem with the video. One is when the screen glitches out (this is usually ... Read more

Hi guys,  Really hoping that somebody can help me out. I am from the UK but currently in China for the next couple of months, so repairs etc will be done over here.  3 days into my trip my laptop just turned off and refused to turn back on again or even charge, I took it to repairs was told it was my motherboard which I got replaced on my warranty and thankfully my old hard drive remained undamaged unlike the melted motherboard.  I got my laptop back yesterday, and ever since i've been having problems. My laptop will randomly shut down after 5-10 mins of use if the laptop is not plugged into a power source - does anybody know why this is?  The other problem is that my inernal mic is now not working. It is registering and the troubleshooters are all showing the mic as working properly. I have made sure the mic is not muted anywhere, volumes turned up full etc but the mic will not work on skype, on the recording software, or for anything else. I have tried updating my driver and it did not make a difference (it uses the conextant HD driver software) and no amount of fiddling with settings or restarting will make a difference. No matter what I do the mic will not pick up any sounds and I have been trawling the net for ages and trying all the different suggestions under the sun.  Because my motherboard has just been replaced I am let to believe that this could potentially be a hardware issue - but does anybody have any idea ... Answer:Internal mic issue - potential hardware problem (IdeaPad U410)

I'm having the same trouble with the microphone. It sounds like there is something blowing or a fan is nearby to someone I'm on Skype with. I've searched for answers, but haven't been able to find any. Maybe this is related to the strange placement of the microphone on the side of the computer? I already tried reinstalling the Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 8 that was released in April 2012 at least twice.Someone who got a Lenovo about half a year ago had a microphone problem as well that made it very difficult to hear as well.

One of my friends has a MBP with two dents on the bottom of the case near where the hard drive is located. It still boots and runs as it should, but we are both wondering what would cause this, and if anything can be done.

Answer:MacBook Pro Case Dents?

Was the case like this when your friend bought it? It looks like the case has been opened and when put back together something wasn't fitting right and it was physically forced closed causing the damage to the case. Or has your friend opened the case?

The only other thing that I can think of is some pretty severe heat damage to the case. As far as fixing it, replace the damaged parts of the case.

Hi,I've been using the X230 for a while now, but I started to notice over the months there's small marks on the right side of the trackpad, which seems to be caused by the top bezel bumps (seems pointless other than causing damage)... I live in the UK, and I have 3 Years Warranty but I am unsure whether if the problem worsens, I prefer if I had someone on-site to replace the palmrest? I cannot stand waiting for weeks for my laptop to return from repairs, as my X230 is needed for college and in general use at home. Is it possible if the damage worsens, I get the palmrest part sent so I can replace it myself or I have a person from Lenovo on-site to do the repairs?

My X220 unit has the same symphtomes. However, my unit is already after warranty, so I plan to buy new LCD bezel (I got broken upper corners and the down bottom looses from the screen) and palmrest. It is not as expensive. If you do your repair fine, it should not harm your warranty (somebody correct me if am I wrong). But this topic is very old, so maybe it will be good for somebody in the future.

I've had this lenovo ideapad 510 for 2 months and it has been nothing but trouble. I've done too many fixes for it for just 2 months but now the fan noise is really unaccceptable. With just 3 tabs open it sounds like a jet taking off and I cannot use it while watching a movie on TV because it's too loud. I have been here on this forum for over a week trying to get a solution but am getting totally ignored. I guess Lenovo's customer service is as good as their products. Please post a fix that works, otherwise let's arrange for me to return this for 50% refund so I can get a laptop that actaully works. I've read the problem is that Lenovo is not compatible with Windows 10 and that is why it's a nigthmare. Why did you release this product with these confirmed problems?1. Touchpad sometimes goes crazy and can't be used2. Unnacceptable fan noise3. Memory and Disk running at 100%I feel cheated as I'm doing more technical work to rid this laptop of problems than actaully being able to browse the net or watch anything. As mentioned with only 3 tabs open, it sounds like a jet trying to take off. Bought this at the end of October

Hi all! I've recently bought a Lenovo Yoga and I've been very happy with it except for one thing. It is a problem one wouldn't expect on a notebook but the fact is that my Yoga, when placed on a table doesn't hold stable. The body seems to be slightly bent in the bottom left corner and, as a result of it, it rattles when pressed against the desk and the notebook looks very flexible here, too. Once again, the bottom lefet corner of its body is kind of bendy whereras the bottom right is strong and firm.I've gone to my local store where I purchased it and the assistant said this was really the issue and that he would replace it if only I came immediately after I purchased it( I turned up 6 days aftewards as I havent noticed before). But when my notebook returned from the service point, they said it was OK and didnt repair anything. And here it becomes really mysterious. The service protocol read that they they had returned the notebook unrepaired but the bottom part of the body was now even. Until now (7 more days)So what I think is that the notebook (at least mine) is not built well and that the body isnt strong enough. That is the only plausible explanation for that because I am neither crazy nor a perfectionist. I just want my expensive notebook to be flawless. Can I claim for replacement? Thanks a lot.

I don't know what kind of material the lenovo is made of, but the finish is most likely a paint/coating of some sort.  Scratch removers work by basically being a very fine grit sandpaper.  That would work on things like plastic screens, where you have thick clear acrylic that you want to sand down until you've gotten rid of the scratch. It probably wont work on a colored finish like the orange, unless your scratch is still orange.  In that case, you're basically removing the top thin layer of orange that has the scratch, exposing more orange underneath.  It's very unlikely your scratch is this shallow, or you'd barely be able to notice it. Also - scratch removers will leave a very smooth/polished finish (if they're working correctly).  I think the orange finish is matte/satin, so you'd have a very strange shiny section. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you'll be able to get that scratch out... at least with scratch remover/polish.

Hello! I'm Joselle and I own a IdeaPad z710. My parents bought it last thanksgiving sale at bestbuy USA. However, I live in the Philippines now and I have RAM Problems. According to a computer technician, he said he couldn't open to fix my laptop since it was still under warranty. Now, I can't live with blue screen "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" in 2 months since I'm a gamer and my laptop's warranty will expire within 2 months. Any solution? Plus, I already confirmed it is a RAM Problem. Did tests already and it was confirmed. Did everything to fix it yet nothing works. The RAM must have broke. Should I just approach the nearest Lenovo Store to fix it for me ? Or etc? I just can't throw my RAM away. It is 16gb and it is very pricey. Please help.

Is this a Single GT755 laptop? What do you mean that GPU doesnt work? How are you testing this? If you have a single GT755M system, due to optimus technology, if you are not playing games then the laptop will use the integrated 4600 graphics.

Hello all I recently bought this laptop less than a week ago and have been having issues since the start. My problem is the switchable graphics. My pc specs are:Windows 10 64 biti5 6200-U 12gb ram2tb hddintel hd 5202gb radeon r7 m360 Now no matter what i do wheever i run a game it is using the intel hd 520 graphics instead of my dedicated. I have tried the following to resolve the issue:-Removed both the intel and amd drivers, (using DDU in safe mode afterwards to clean left overs) and then re installed both of them (the intel ones first) using the latest drivers from both the intel and AMD website.-I have changed the intel hd 520 power settings and the AMD ones. I have set it to axiise performance etc. I have also added all the launcher and ,exe files to use high performance in the AMD settings, I have the used various software (HWmonitor, gu-z, cpu-z) to monitor both the dedicated card and the intels card temperature and work load. I also use AMD monitor, and turn monitoring on in the AMD settings,Whenever i load a game and check the load, it ONLY the intel card working, and even though i have added the games to the AMD settings they do not show up in the monitoring section.- I have then read online that AMD and intel do not necessarily include "switchable" graphics in their driver updates and to use the ones on Lenovos webiste. So i have uninstalled them again (again using DDU) and then installed the drivers (intel and AMD VGA drivers), updted bios, and... Read more

So I got this problem 2-3 weeks ago. The problem was that when I was playing Fifa 12 on my laptop , the laptop suddenly stopped working. When I started it again the fans started working , but there was nothing on the monitor (black screen) and it wasn't from the monitor cause I couldn't hear the Windows starting song. So the problem kinda fixed itself (I don't exactly know how it happened , but the laptop was fine , everything working again).Like 2-3 days ago the same problem occurred when I played League of Legends. But I received some errors before that happened. The first one dropped me out of the game , but I wanted to rejoin fast and didn't read it. After I started the game again i got BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death - I don't really know how to call this problem , but I hope this describes it good).I waited 3-5 min than I restarted the laptop and when I started the game again BSOD appeared again.I was really worried about that , so I waited a little bit longer this time (around 10min).And now the same problem appears (the fan - working , black screen , no windows song). And now I can't start the laptop at all , because of this. Please help ! This machine has been working fine until the battery died. On purchasing a replacement and after charging I switched on the machine only to be confronted with a black screen with the icons above the keyboard flashing, then after a couple of seconds the machine re-starts with the same symptoms and continues to start-shutdown-start. I have removed the power adaptor and the battery and held down the power button for around 60 seconds without success. The reset/restore button that is located next to the power button only produces the same result when pressed.During the start-up process, NOTHING is seen on the laptop screen OR an externally connected monitor. I have also tried known good replacement RAM and hard drive and have installed a new CMOS battery but the fault persists. Can the BIOS be updated via a bootable USB flash drive without access to the screen? I seem to have a failed laptop Can anyone suggest a remedy?

Hi to evreyone! So recently I bought a brand new Lenovo Z710 (i7-4700mq, intel hd 4600 and nvidia gt745m). I then installed windows 8.1 (genuine) and all the drivers on the cd that came with the machine. But it seems there is a big problem with the graphics card. Nvidia gt745 seems like its not there. The Geforce Experience and nvidia control panel fail to recognize it, although it's there on Windows Driver Manager. When I try to load a game (WOW) it crashes on the loading screen. "Display driver has stopped responding..." bubble appears and a minute or so afterwards, there is a bsod. The game works on the integrated card (intel hd 4600) when nvidia is disabled or its driver is uninstalled.I tried reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing the recent ones, removing all graphic drivers and reintalling them in different order, tried safe mode, changed some bios settings, but still nothing happened.Could this be any kind of driver compatibility issue or simply a windows thing, or is it a hardware problem? Could the nvidia be faulty or the laptop itself? I want to try anything before turning it back to where I bought it for a look... So your ideas will be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, About a month ago, I received my new Lenovo Ideapad Y500 running on Windows 8. However, during this week, a problem occurred about probably 8 times already. Windows said that it encountered an error and it automatically restarts for me. The majority of the time, it says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (tcpip.sys). Sometimes it says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (aswnet.sys), but I realized that that was an avast antivirus problem. I tried refreshing the laptop. Everything was going well until I reinstalled all the programs again. That's when it happened again. The list of programs I installed were:League of LegendsAvast AntivirusCCleanerDefragglerAdobe PhotoshopJavaAdobe FlashKingsoft Office Suite Any idea on how to fix this problem(s)? Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y500 Problem

HiI think avast antivirus is the problem. Try uninstalling it once. These antiviruses do cause a lot of problem. Also update wireless card driversHope this helps

Answer:lenovo ideapad z 570 keyboard problem

Hi jsaab, new to forum but thought I'd give my thoughts as I had a Y570. Could do with knowing which buttons malfunction and in which apps. It could be phyiscal ware,  such as the gamer keys WASD or the direction keys. It could be a temperature problem with malfunction happening after a certain uptime. If all keys feel OK and the same to type with then possibly a software problem. Try typing all keys into notepad and see if all produce correct alph-numerical characters. But do need to know which keys or key combos and in which apps

So, a lot happened yesterday with my new laptop. I have the Lenovo idepad y500 laptop and i use a G700 logitech mouse and a G13 logitech gamepad. The problem started with me gaming gear. I game a lot and use the G13 only for World of Warcraft (I have it plugged in almost every time though). I always have the Gaming Software running on the background. Sometimes when I game the Gaming Software disconnects my G700 and my G13 randomly and reconnect them shortly after. But it does this much more often when I play Wow or LoL. At some point after many re-connects the gaming software freezes. When this happens my Gamepad stops working but my mouse still works (because it doesn't really need the gaming software to work). After I unplug the gamepad, kill the gaming software and execute the software again everything is fine (after some time it will disconnect and reconnect again until it freezes up again). I played WoW this way for quite some days now. But today it went from bad to worse. When the gaming software froze up I unplugged everything like I normally do. But now my laptop spammed the "1" input, auto filling all text boxes and spamming error beeps. Finding this really weird I hard reset my laptop thinking, this should help. Now after this Hard reset (unplugged everything, took out the battery and drained the laptop from power, just to be sure) my laptop was incredibly slow when booting. I only had this Laptop for a week and I know my stuff about registry and star... Read more

The US Lenovo website quite clearly shows that the only Y450 model with Bluetooth is the 418939U (the most expensive model; it is also the only one with discrete graphics).  I do not know if that is different in other countries.

Dear team,I was initially so excited to receive my brand new lenovo z510 in feb 2014. But two months later, I have noticed that my laptop had problem with keyboard and mouse touched pad. I was disappointed, it was my first laptop in my life that I bought with my own expense having a great feeling on Lenovo. It made me so unhappy and depressed that it was a totally new laptop just been 2 months old and it had a defect. I conveyed myself saying that defects with any electronic items are quite common and I moved on shipping my laptop to lenovo depot center at texas with my expense paying $25.00 to fedex. I really appreciate and I am thankful to lenovo team who took care of my laptop very well, and for having the issue fixed. However the left arrow key on keyboard is troubling once in a while. Its not that it doesnt work completely , but it does rarely. What bothers me write this to you is another problem that I am having now. I don't really know if this part of issue will be taken care by Lenovo or not, but wanted to get this to notice of somebody. Hi guys, I just got my Lenovo ideapad 700 for about a week now. I've activated the dust removal option for a few days and the option never exist anymore in my Lenovo Companion app. I found out there are vibrating and loud stuttering and static coming from my laptop fan whenever I fire up some casual games such as Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. The fan will return to normal after a reboot or after cooling down for sometime. But I'm afraid it's still an issue since I just got my new laptop for a week. What should I do? Please help.

Running Windows 8 with a Lenovo Ideapad T400 with a router 3.5 meters away and excellent signal, the wi-fi sometimes goes off.I have also an ipad and an iphone and I do not experience the same issues. One solution to solve it is to go on airplane mode on and off for few times and most of the time it works. Sometime I need to reboot the PC. In few instances I reboot the router and wait. Any idea? Thanks Fabio

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad T400 wi-fi problem

Hi Fabio,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that Wi-Fi reception in your Lenovo ThinkPad T400 is not up to the expectation.

Go to control panel -> Power Options -> Change Plan settings under the power plan you have chosen -> Change advanced power settings -> Make the wireless adapter settings to maximum performance.

Next, go to the device manager, select your Wi-Fi card -> go to Properties -> Advanced ->  Set "Transmit Power" to maximum, and "Roaming Aggressiveness" to lowest setting.

Also, under the "Power Management" tab, remove tick for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". And click "OK" to save the setting and reboot the PC.

Hope the above suggestions help to resolve your concern!

Best regards,
Mithun.

Almost instantly my antivirus picked up a threat, it actually picked up 51 threats, i ran a scan and it didnt find aNY\ threat. I restarted the computer and thats were the problems started. Windows starts fine but sometimes the taskbar doesnt work. Applications start up but don't keep running. For example i start "My Computer" but then i can't go to my "My Documents".  And after that it seems to freeze but the mouse cursor can move but nothing really works and i have to force the computer off. Hi and welcome..  itf you use a security program like one of these ..  Security for free and keep them updated..you are on the save side, but its good to save your working  (data, music, pictures ...)from time to time on an extra media like USB FlashThumbDrive or on an opticaldrive...
Dont trust one security program..  from time to time use an external security program to search for virus or so on...
Keep your system clear , delete temporary data with a duster like cleanprog or ccleaner...
Disable unnessessary progs ... could accelerate in some cases and prevents from freeze/hang up/hick up
& in case of virus or other malfunctions its more comfortable, to start from a scratch & recover your system...
and  like many other programs google chrome isnt bugfree ,that could happen..

Bought this machine in Dec 2016 and have not been able to use it at all because it keeps crashing every now and then with BSD.  It's under warranty.  Every time Lenovo engineer reinstalls the OS and it keeps crashing.  It's already 5 times they have done this. There seems to be no solution in sight and of late Lenovo engineers stopped responding to the issue in time.  It's nearly a week they collected coredump and event viewer data with no solution coming forward till now.  Lenovo is not willing to consider DOA. Currently, it's lying with me and unusable.  What's the solution to this problem?

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad 500S BSD Problem

Hard to tell because actaul StopCode is not visible in the image, but typically blue screens are an operating system issue related to hardware drivers, or corrupt system files, and are not hardware related.     It would if you could upload the actual C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file as it might point to the driver or system file at fault.

Hi there. I have buyed this netbook few weeks ago (about 3 - maybe 4). Since I first time turned on netbook, I knew something was wrong. In very short time I see that netbook random freeze and then a HDD LED shine. It is very random and duration of stop working is about one minute. In this freezed state, it is not possible to do nothing. The mouse is mooving, but all the files and programs stopped working (for example music player playing mp3 from harddisk, but not from internet!). I think it is som problem with drivers. The second problem was with installed in program for harddisk protection - I think it is named Active Protection System. When this program was running all applications and videos was running not good, there was little and short freezing, but all the time!. Since I deleted this application this problem dissapear. But the first problem is still there! I am very dissatisfied. And where is support for this notebook??? HMM??? Thank You, sorry for my really bad english.

Hey so I just got a T510 and I have realized that the back of my laptop is full of my finger prints due to opening and closing the screen. Now my question is, what cleaning tools do I use to wipe it off and make it look brand new again? This is probably the only thing I hate about this laptop, that every time you touch it, it leaves a mark  Please help me ! Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum!I use a microfiber cloth and small chunk of water to clean my gears, but if something is really dirty and can't be cleaned through water then I apply tiny amount of soap to the wet cloth. There are many products available in the market too, but I don't trust any, YMMV.Lenovo Blogs has some tips too:- http://lenovoblogs.com/designmatters/?p=121Hope it helps.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y300 Keypad Problem

hi robinbron,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can you share if this is happeneing with other software, like notepad, word pad?

If you still have the issue with other Software then
       Check the Sticky keys, Under
"Control Panel\Ease of Access\Ease of Access Center\Make the keyboard easier to use"
Make sure all are uncheck and test again. If still the same issue try other keyboard and that will isolate the issue if it is the built in keyboard problem.

If the Issue is not showinf using other programs. check the Word Application for Options,

Hope this helps,
Cheers!

I am having severe problems with my laptop. Just bought it 6 months ago. It worked perfectly, every game worked smoothly, gave me awesome experience but recently, while i was using the laptop as usual, horrible green, purple, grey and black lines started to appear and my laptop stuck. I was shocked as i just bought it. I shut it down, only to find the problem again. I have figured out that my laptop screen works only when i bend it to a certain angle and if i exert a little pressure to the lower end of the screen. When i lift my finger off it messes up again. Please help me guys. I have attached a pic so you can get better idea. Thanks,

Hello, so my problem is that I experiencing lag/stuttering while playing games, I know that some sli cards have this problem but this laptop should run this game smoothly. The game runs at 30-35 fps on high settings but its unplayeble because of the stuttering :/  As you can see here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCGeLDzSr7Y&list=UUh-ND5iwCVA8Fh8RSsRViDQ So i tried reinstalling the drivers, and the os, but nothing works. So if you have a solution pls write it down. Thanks

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y510p Performance problem

first off, that video doen't show anything horrible.. that seems like typical lag from a game if not even doesn't show your stutter problem at all..  SO, if and ONLY IF this is not related to the game needing an update or your drivers need an update.. your next step is below: (only do this if you have determined through research -like googling other people playign the same game you have with good results) etc..   -i have a y410p.. and i went through you don't even wanna know to figure out how to get this machine to work properly.. I will leave you with this secret info.. - I can guarantee it's probably thermal throttling/heat issues.. if you haven't already seen all the posts already here! if you were like me, and didn't research enough before you chose this machine, you would have seen the million posts on how performance is crap on these machines because of heat.. the fan's don't cool.. the whole thing runs too hot.. the thermal paste is crap and you need to repaste it... yourself probably.. yeah it gets worse.. lenovo also "hard-coded" the cooling system in your machine.. so you can't even force the fan to run full speed.. the solution?? yeah .. ready for this?? 1. sell machine.. buy asus gaming machine.. ha.. 2. if you are hell-bent to keep your restricted/constricted machine then start getting A.)intel extreme utility and you will have to extremely google and research undervolting.. to help with heat i... Hi All, My Lenovo U310 Ideapad Has been Having speaker problems, The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working. First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt. On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees. I am a bit worried any words on that????? regards, raisedadead. THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!!!

Hello, The camera on my  is not working properly. I have used it once in Skype and since then it is not working at all. I can see the light that it is turned on, but there is no picture. I tried using different websites to make photos of myself - nothing. In skype, when I call somebody my camera is only loading and that's all. I have installed/reinstalled the drivers, restarted the computers and so on - nothing works so far.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y500 camera problem

hi SPetrov,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Getting a black or discolored screen when opening camera is a sign that the camera light is getting defective. Since you already isolated it by using different camera softwares, try to boot into the BIOS by pressing F2, when you're in, press F9 to load BIOS defaults and press F10 to save and exit. If this still doesn't fix the camera, there's a big posibility that the camera chip or the lens is already defective and you need to contact lenovo for service. Support phone list here.

Hope this helps.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y580 major problem.

It can be that the HDD is overheating and thus shutting itself off while in use since Y580 is known to have HDD temps reaching 60 °C which is above safe HDD operating temperatures. When the system becomes fully operational, monitor your HDD temps and see if it's good.

Hi, I just purchased a brand new, in-the-box Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 laptop. It was advertised as having built-in Bluetooth technology. I just received the computer in the mail today. When I took the computer out of the box and booted it, I noticed that there was no icon for Bluetooth anywhere. I downloaded a driver off Lenovo's website and tried to install it, but the driver crashed in mid-installation. Some websites suggest checking the BIOS and enabling/disabling (and re-enabling) Bluetooth under the settings, but when I go to the settings, there is no Bluetooth device listed. Lenovo website says that to edit Bluetooth settings, you must press Fn/F5 simultaneously. When I do this, all that comes up is a screen with settings for my Wireless Network Card. There is supposed to be both Bluetooth and Wireless there. Other people have said they have experienced this situation as well, but nobody seems to have a solution online. I am using the packaged OS (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit). Device Manager does not list any Bluetooth device, from what I can see. What gives? It's a brand new machine.

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Bluetooth Problem

There should be an BT enable/disable option in your bios, but as you have said you cannot find one, the box that you Z580 came in has the specifications on a white label on the  side, mine says BT 2.1 even though it`s BT 4.0 , you might not have BT have a look. EDIT : I had to remove the cover off the bottom of my Z580 to check the wifi card model  i had, it`s only 1 screw, take a photo and post it here, you will not invalidate your warranty as long as you dont damage anything. EDIT 2: the link below is a photo of my wifi card in my Z580 the part circuled in red is the lenovo part number, which is listed in the service manual pdf as an Broadcom BCM4313 + BT4.0 Post what the number is on your wifi card and i should be able to tell if you have bluetooth. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e306/policeman999/wificard_zpsa5bfef89.jpg John.

Hello. I've had the Ideapad Y580 for a couple of months and never encountered a problem with anything. Great laptop. Just one thing that started happening 3 days ago and is happening ever since. I was playing Fifa 13, a game which I have from a long time ago, when the video started stuttering. This went on for almost 10 seconds until I pressed "Escape", then went to the desktop, then back to the game, and it worked perfectly. From that day on, every time I play either one of Fifa 13 or Darksiders 2 (the only 2 games I've been playing lately), I get this problem. I set the Lenovo power management to the rocket thing, set the Dynamic Lenovo Graphics in the Power Options screen, and even got a cooling pad for the Laptop, but still the problem exists. I've also downloaded the latest Nvidia beta drivers from the official Nvidia website. Any solution? This is seriously taking its effect on my gaming

Ever since buying this laptop I've had the battery set to "optimize battery health", which keeps the level at 50%. But since last week or so I noticed the level suddenly dropped to about 38%, then 37, 36, etc, a bit everyday. It still says "plugged in and charging", but the icon doesn't have the charging animation, nor does the % go up. I called tech support earlier and he said to unplug the charger, then reinstall the Lenovo power management software. This didn't really solve the problem, in fact all it did was lower the % down to 25% now, because all this time the charger was disconnected running on battery power. I think basically the battery is not really charging even though it says it's charging, or it could be just not calibrated correctly? Anyone know what I should do, besides buy a new battery since that's the last resort? The laptop is roughly 1.5 yrs old, never had this problem until last week. I heard about the battery gauge reset method, but people warn that it could also damage the battery.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y510P battery problem

hi KevinLQ,

Thanks for Posting.

Have the computer boot to the BIOS mode.
Press F2 when you turn on the computer
While in BIOs Mode unplug the AC adapter and let it Drain until it shudown on its own.

This will Drain the Battery from any charge and will count the battery as 0
Now Recharge the battery and check if it will be read by WIndows correctly.

If this shows the same problem, You can have the system Serviced via Warranty.

Hope this helps

I have a laptop which is mentioned above. Had it for almost 3 years now and suddenly shut off while I was using it. It would not charge nor it would turn on. Tried the power reset thing which holds the power button for multiple seconds but to no avail.  Then went to a service center saying motherboard burned up. Such a shame since I really like the laptop and I spent  lot of money for it since I bought the i7 core version. I was hesitant to buy other brands before actually purchasing this lenovo laptop. I have a netbook (not a lenovo brand) which I had for 7 years now. But my almost 1000dollars z510 laptop broke and it hasn't been a FULL 3 YEARS?  WTH LENOVO! And motherboard replacement is VERY expensive. I'm really STRESSED about this. And ALL my files are there. Photos, work documents etc. I can;t stressed enough about how disappointed I am.

I have had sound issues from my laptop recently. Sound fails to play out of the speakers or headphones normally. This is not an issue with Windows Audio Service or anything like that. I did notice, however, that when I push down on the lower right side of the laptop's case (right of the mousepad, an inch or two below the keyboard), that sound will play. This used to be the fix to the problem, but I have had to push increasingly harder to get any sound to come out, and now it lasts for a second or two, or while I am still pushing. I believe this may be an issue in which the sound card/speakers are slightly disconnected from the computer, but I do not know. Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

Hello, My warranty expired 8/2013.I am having the same problem I have been reading that others have and they are having their motherboard replaced under warranty.I can use my ideapad and it will stop charging the battery, run the battery down and then shut down.I have to unplug the ideapad from the AC adapter and remove the battery for at least 15 - 30 minutes for the motherboard to reset.Once the motherboard has reset, I can run it on the AC adapter only, and reconnect the battery to recharge the battery again. This has been happening to me for the last few months and I'd like to get some assistance with this problem. This is the 6th Lenovo product I have purchased and I have had very good luck with Lenovo.I like the Y580 ideapad. It has a good mix of performance features and has served me very well over the last year. I did the Windows 8 upgrade when it was available last October, and have kept up with all of the latest Windows Updates, Lenovo Drivers and BIOS versions. The notebook runs like a top when it does. I would just like to get some assistance on correcting this issue. Thank you, Peter...
