Preferred Solution: ERROR 404 micro_httpd (pink screen)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi
My Laptop is 13 months old Dell I7 5558, i was facing this screen flicker issue previously ,where i got my Laptop Screen replaced by you ,but now I'm facing the same issue .
Previously before replacing i used to have just few flicker, now flicker rate got increased even more & Screen Goes black which is really annoying.
Even at the logo Screen I 'm seeing Green & pink lines
Sometimes nothing appears on the screen just flicker of Green & pink lines & black Screen After that.Where i should to remove my battery & place it ,to turn on my laptop in this case.
Problem is not related to software, if that was the case flicker should not be at dell logo screen.
But FYI my Graphic Card Drivers are already up to date.
I Guess the problem is at the hinges or with the monitor or maybe related to mother board itself.
when my laptop screen is less than 90 degree i can see few flicker, when it 90 degrees or more than that ,continuous flicker & black screen later as like monitor looses power nothing .

Any Other Information Required let me know.

My Lenovo G50-45 Screen as shown in the picture attached, has a band of pink/purple/green that runs across most of the screen. It varies in color and sometimes it is more clouded and sometimes it is clear with just the colored tint. It showed up one day while playing minecraft and came and went a few times and has been there now for a couple of months. Colors are distorted; for example under the band the color red does not show up. At the top of the band it is vibrant and pixelated and I can sometimes see reflections of what Is moving on screen on that tiny band (if that makes any sense). Is it a wiring issue? do i need to replace the screen? or is it a graphics card issue?

If it's a CRT then sounds like the blue gun has failed. Substitute another monitor to confirm that it's the monitor and not the graphics card/drivers.

Answer:Pink Screen ?? Wot was that ??

but this could be an indication of many things.VGA cable with damaged wire but this wouldn't cause a system freeze.Though Graphics struggling may or lack of memory required for a task.ideally we would need to know your computers specification, which Windows ?, amount of memory, CPU, intergrated graphics or a dedicated graphcis card.It could just be a one off but if its repetative I would start to look more into it.

Question: Pink Screen

Screen has gone pink and sometimes has what can only be described as 'screen burn' when it is forst turned on. I ran diagnostics (which is really difficult with the display problem) and it did not report anything. Plugged laptop in to an external display & picture is fine. I appreciate the laptop is out of warranty but I only purchased it on 28th Sept 2015, 16 months ago. It is not used very often, maybe twice a week if that. Having done a bit of research I have managed to deduce that is this is known problem. I am now faced with a repair bill for at least 150 which I don't think is acceptable. This product is not fit for purpose.Has anybody else had this and how did you sort it out?

Question: Pink/red screen

My black pixels are turning red/pink, it started with every now and then but is nearly all the time now. What could that be, some people says its my screencard thats loose but I would rather get it from you guys. Please help.

Answer:Pink/red screen

Hello Elizmar and welcome to TSF!

Artifacts can be related to anything, really.. but mostly stem from a dying video card, a bad video card driver install, or a monitor issue.

I would first recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of your video card drivers. If you're already at the latest version, I would recommend rolling back / installing a previous version to be sure the latest version of the drivers is not the issue.

If drivers are not the issue, I would recommend re-seating your video card (assuming it's a desktop) to be sure there's no bad connection between the slot and the video card itself, etc.

If it's not a desktop, please post back with your system information / laptop and model number.

Regards,

Patrick

Question: Pink Screen

my screen seems to be polarized with some colors. It all started with the ending of a sims 3 game. Shut down screen is normal. I have a HP Touchsmart 320-1020
Processor: AMD Athlon 11X2 235e Processor 270 GHz 64 bit I should add that not all screens are affected. my browser screen (dogpile) does not seem to be affected. Could this be a graphics card problem or would updating to windows 8 solve the issue.

Answer:Pink Screen

Hi,
I'd start with an update of the graphics card drivers. If you already have the latest version then maybe backing off a version and doing the update will fix it.
I would not recommend upgrading to W8 just to fix a 'minor' problem. AFTER you fix the graphics problem the update becomes a matter of personal preference.

No idea why it's pink, but I would suggest checking your Event Viewer for errors around the time that this happens.

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Expand the Windows Logs heading, and check both the System and Application log files. Let us know if you find any errors there.

Question: Pink LCD screen

hey guys, i try not to pester you here too much.
but i have a problem that i really cant figure out. for the second time, my screen has just turned pink, not lines of pink, or flickers of pink, but just solid pink. i dont think that the computer has stopped functioning, just the screen.

can someone please tell me what the hell is goin on. i searched online and i am led to beleive that it may be something to do with the lights in the screen. but my laptop is one and a half years old, and treated with a lot of respect, so i dont see how they could be going already.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Answer:Pink LCD screen

is it still under warranty? Unfortunatly, laptop lcd screens can get messed up even while treated well (loose connection inside, fault backlight or other faulty components).

If it isnt under warranty, find a certified repair center and have them take a look at it. Hopefully it can be fixed and you wont need a replacement screen. If you do, i recommend looking around for one (ebay perhaps) and see what the best price you can find is, as ordering it through a repair place or the manufacturer is usually very costly.

I have had this problem on and off for several months now but 3 days ago my LCD monitor screen went pink again and has not returned to normal. Previously I thought it may have been due to a magnetic field so I removed any possible cause. The screen would then flicker from normal to pink and then finally returned to normal. I tried the same thing again and also have tried 3 different cables, still pink! This morning I have tried it on another computer and lo and behold normal! Can someone please tell me what might be the problem? I have no other operating problems, I can do everything but just have to look at this horrible bright pink colour over everthing, very annoying and irritating on the eyes. Thanks

Answer:Solved: Pink Screen

Sounds like graphics card - is it onboard or an expansion ? It could need updated drivers , it could be overheating , it could just need to be removed/reseated if it's expansion . You could lower the settings to performance over quality . Or it could be borked .
I'd update drivers first , then adjust performance settings . Then reseat after cleaning any fans , if applicable . Lower the refresh rate for the monitor . I doubt the card is dying as the problem is going on for months - days would be more likely .

My cat stepped on the KB pressing multiple keys at once. (Left hand side of KB) All of a sudden, the screen went a pinkish color no matter what site I was on. Even the screensaver and desktop wall paper was affected. Now it has a permanent pink tinge to it, green display as a browny colour and blues are all neon like.

It's not the monitor; I switched one for another, no change. I tried a system restore to a date I was sure colors were working properly. No change.

This is the weirdest thing...I had just finished watching an episode of The Office on Hulu and my computer speakers make a loud buzz noise and the screen goes pink and I have to hard reset it. This is the first time anything like that's ever happened. Here's my current specs:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1ghz
4gb(2x2gb) G. Skill Ripjaw DDR3 PC3-10700H
Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
Samsung SATA HDD
NVidia Quardro FX 3700 (normally it's an HD Radeon 4850 that I had to RMA..)
Windows 7, 64 bit

what could cause this?

Answer:pink screen of death?

Ehhh...I've seen this happen before. Watching Hulu full-screen is a strain on any computer. I once crashed my netbook in this manner....lol.

It could be just the graphics card crashing (possibly due to overheating)....a system cache leak (i.e. watching a long high-quality video "accumulates" in the memory and crashes the computer)....not really sure. I've never researched it.

I've only seen it happen once. Of course, I never tried to watch Hulu again on my netbook...so there ya go.

I doubt it will happen again. I wouldn't worry about it unless it is a regular occurrence.

Question: Vista Pink Screen

Thinkpad z61m running Vista Business goes to a pink screen after normal login. Tried safe mode and it brings up blank black screen with safe mode in all four corners. Hooked up external monitor and it displays same pink screen. Safe mode loading one driver at a time ends up the same. Ran Norton and everything scanned okay. HDD seems to be doing fine. In other words, it appears all is well but I just can't see the desktop. Oddly the laptop function keys to start the external monitor or to bring up the wireless mgt interface or to eject a device work fine and these interfaces pop up over the top of the pink screen as if nothing is wrong. Also I can start the PC and go directly into Thinkvantage rescue recovery and use Opera browser. I am typing from the PC right now and the display looks great. It only bombs to pink when I login into Vista. Not sure if I can apply driver updates while not logged into Vista but going to try. I believe it has an Nvidia video card but can't get into Vista to confirm and hardware summary under rescue recovery does not detail.

In that rare air where it appears this isn't a serious enough problem to require reload O/S and not even sure that would resolve but can't use PC unless I can make progress. Any ideas appreciated.

Problem--Until
just recently i was able to connect my laptop to various tv's using a 15 pin VGA cable when required.Everything worked fine i.e. what was on my laptop was also on the tv screen.
However i now get a bright pink background and some images and icons are distinguishable wmp is like a film negative.
This happens on all tv's .I have tried the following -

1) New VGA cable.
2) Made sure VGA plug sits flat on the corresponding port and locking screws are done up finger tight.
3) Checked that none of the pins looked bent or broken.

Answer:Pink Screen on tv when pc is connected.

This sounds to me of more of a hard ware problem than a software problem due to the pink; this being a tell tail sign of a bad connection.
From personal experience with a multitude of displays even a VGA plug that looks in isn't necessarily making contact due to general wear and tear caused by plugging and unplugging and any bending of the plug while in the socket.
I would recommend lightly moving the plugs both in the laptop and the TV/Monitor while they are not screwed in and look for any change.
If your Laptop has an S-Video port give that a try and see if that works.
If possible try with another computer or another TV monitor.
Has this connection worked on this TV before?
Also this may sound odd but try booting your PC into safe mode (go into boot options and choose boot options while booting) and try it then; I've had some luck with this before.
You could also try putting your PC into 16bit colour display. I have no idea if that will work or not but it's worth a try.
I hope this helps and wish you luck.
Please post your results here for me to see.

Hey guys,
I'm Running windows XP professional on a 7800 gtx with all the latest drivers. I'm having a problem while using quicktime and VLC where playback is shaded pink (sound is fine). Things usually go back to normal once I restart, but it is becoming very obnoxious. I built my comp myself and have been running trouble free for half a year now.
Thanks for the help

Answer:'Pink Screen' In VLC and Quicktime

could be your video card drivers - even if they are the latest ones - i had a similar problem once and solved it by going back to older drivers. i'm still using 66.93 drivers with my invidia card!

I had left my notebook FMV-Biblo NX70J/T running all night as I sometimes do for downloading. I'd put down the screen so that the screen shuts off, but everything else keeps running. When I woke up today, there was a thin pink vertical line going from the top of the screen to the bottom, to the right of the start button, overlapping everything. Everything except the mouse icon. Also, if part of it passes over a white area (such as on this forum screen) that part is invisible. When the computer is off, the line is gone. When I restart the computer, the windows xp home boot screen comes up and I see the line. Then when it switches from the boot screen to the logon screen, the screen goes black and the line goes away. Then at the logon screen it's back again. What's happened?! Is this permanent?

Answer:pink line on my screen, won't go away

COuld be a failed video adapter, or overheating. If it has persisted on subsequent boot ups, it may be a sign of serious problems as you cannot cange the video card in a laptop.Only chance would be to update the video driver from the manufacturer;s website and cross your fingers.

Hi, hoping for help. in the middle of playing a game, my monitor got all these pink lines going from left to right across the screen. (looks like a heart monitor). went into device monitor and there is a yellow mark next to the video card. According to driver detective the drivers for the nvidia GeForce 8800 gt needs upgrading. went to dell, and there is no upgrade listed there. Went to Nvidia and they show an upgrade, tried to upgrade with the driver they said it needed but no difference. Tried uninstalling the drive, rebooted it put it back in and still has the yellow mark. Should I pay the price for Driver Detective to install the driver? or is this a dead card? do not want to pay for the Detective if I will need to buy a new card anyway.Any advice will be welcomedThanks Debbie

Answer:pink lines across the screen?

Since I don't know what make or model your computer is but you did indicate monitor so I can only assume it is a pc not a laptop. Have you tried hooking a different monitor up to the pc to rule out the monitor itself?

My desktop is having some issues right now that are preventing me from using it basically at all. When it starts up normally, it will usually have alot of pink infest the screen at some point and then my computer stops responding. It will then have an error when it tries to boot up the next time, asking me to boot up with either startup repair or in safe mode. Even if I don't have the "pink scren of death" freeze my computer, it has these issues starting up the next time as well. I don't know what is causing this, but i was able to back up the important files on the computer in case there isn't a solution to this. I did run a Norton full-system scan and it didn't find anything. Any and all help would be appreciated as this is grinding my family's productivity to a great halt right now.

Answer:Pink Screen of death

Might be a display driver or device issue since you don't see it in Safe Mode.

Have you tried doing a "System Restore" to a date when it worked without issues? If the problem continues after that, the source is most likely hardware. Running System Restore will not cause you to lose data -- and they can be undone if not helpful.

You can also try "Clean Boot" troubleshooting.

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

See this link for detailed information:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310353
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 << for Vista, but applies equally to XP, and better written.

Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as well.

Get the idea? You want to isolate the problem to a specific startup if possible.

Note: if you already have items unchecked under msconfig > startups and are in “selective” startup mode – you should note what these are before beginning. They will need to be de-selected again.

Around a month ago, usually on boot-up, my computer screen has started to turn pink for about half a minute,

just like there is a sheet of see-through pink film over the screen, it has started to stay on for longer and has only just returned to normal now,

I was not to bothered when it was only affecting the boot-up screen, is it a VIRUS!

I have AntiVir and Avast which pick up nothing. I thought I read somewhere that there was a unmalious Virus that done this.

What else would it be, could it just be that my computer is elderly.

Answer:Pink Transparent Screen

lol this problem is common in schools every time i was in school or college there was screens with pink on them. I presume its a bad power corded try changing it or the monitor is dying as schools and colleges use 2nd hand goods. I doubt its a virus just a monitor screwup if it is still like that buy a new CRT there relativly cheap now.

So I was playing some Skyrim Special Edition, and when I finished my session and exited the game, my screen was pink with some some green stripes. Now, I've searched about and found similiar issues (see below)I've had an issue like this where the screen has kind of "blinked" green/pink for just a second and appeared fine again in long intervalls of maybe 5 minutes in the past, but usually it has gone away, and been in relation to an uninstalled driver update (at least I think so...) https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y50-70-Green-Screen-with-Pink-Haze/td-p/2157543 And of course, the answers are different from source to source, but one that kept appearing was replacement of the LCD screen or something like that. (it may not necessarily be the issue here, but I guess it is.)I'm interested in hearing what people has to say about the issue and what to do. I've still got an active warranty, so the only thing to do is to send it off to repairs? It's not something I can fix myself? Should I take a backup of files (mainly games) that I don't wanna lose? Is it guaranteed that it will be fixed?I'm situated in Norway, and the one and only repair place is in Oslo and I'm gonna call them later today.

Answer:Y50-70 pink/green screen

Yes, if the screen is changing colors, it is possibly an impending hardware failure. Your best bet is to send it to the repair center, take pictures of the laptop before sending it off, note down its serial number and other details.

Under Warranty this should be a free repair as long as there is no evidence of rough handling. It is always advised to take backup of any and all important files before sending the laptop for repair. In my experience, such issues should be fixed first time if they are immediately reproducible. Just check with them if they have the spare parts available for this fix (if they can check and give you that information). Usually, the repair center will receive the machine, diagnose and replace the required parts (if need be).

I had my motherboard replaced once but I had to send it twice before they actually fixed it. Include as much detail in your repair request while creating the case, so that the defect can be identified.

My Ideacentre B540 all-in-one displays a pink screen on startup intermittently. Anyone else had this problem? Was advised by Lenovo to reinstall the Nvidia display driver when I called in the problem. Did that twice but the problem comes back once in a while. Got to switch off and on again to get it to work properly. On-site warranty still valid but Lenovo refuses to send someone over for a look-see. Asked me to reload OS! Isn't the whole point of buying extended warranty so that you don't have to do troubleshooting and fault diagnosis yourself?

Hi
I have had my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop for almost eight years now. However about five weeks ago the left screen hinge broke. Whilst waiting for a replace lid i noticed that the display would come up a pink colour whenever i booted up the laptop. However this would go back to normal colour staright away after the BIOS boot sequence.
However after having the lid replaced i noticed that the pink colour started showing up again a day later. And since it has not changed. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Will this worsen in the future or there is nothing to worry about. Once the system has booted up into Windows everything is ok.
Thank you.

Answer:Pink Screen color?

This problem is most likely caused by a bad color amplifier circuit inside the monitor. See if you can beg, borrow or steal another monitor to try out. If problem resolved then you know for sure it's the monitor.
You could also try that monitor on another machine.

Upon activating my computer today, I was startled to see a pale pink tint on the screen. It appears regardless of what is being viewed and is a deeper shade of pink at the top of the screen than it is at the bottom. On printouts white is still white, but on screen nothing is pure white anymore. I welcome any suggestions on what has caused this and how to get rid of it.

Hello, I'm using HP Pavilon dv2842se laptop core duo...with vista. Answer:Laptop screen pink out!!!

If it is pink at startup and then it goes away as the laptop warms up that is the backlight going out. The "tube" some people have mentioned. A laptop can actually work like that for a long time or the screen could go completely black tomorrow. A backlight can be replaced but since screens are now about $100 instead of the $250 they were just a few years ago it does not make much sense to go through the extensive labor to try and replace just the backlight.

Looks like the monitor cable is not making proper contact. Make sure it is firmly connected to the PC and the monitor.

Of course, it could be a bad video cad or a bad monitor too.. Try another monitor if playing with the cable doesn't help.

Firstly I know very little about the technical side of computers, so any assistance would be helpful and appreciated.

The problem is my monitor is acting strange with pink lines all over the place and distorting the picture. It looks like this, LINK.

I don't know if this information about the screen will be helpful but I'll give iit anyway.

Monitor: 17" Sharp-LL172A Analogue Flat Panel.

Graphics Card: RADEON 9800 SERIES

And I'm also using Windows XP if that helps.

The problem hasn't been around much, just the past few days it has been occuring.

Thankyou for any help received.

Question: Pink/Green Screen

Basically, I've had this problem once and it disappeared like 2 days after. I left it at that. Then it came back this time 3x worse. I've had this problem with my laptop's screen. 3 Quarters of it would be flickering and repeating the start bar and it would be greenish or pinkish which made it really hard for me to use. It has been happening for 2 days in a row now. When I on my laptop, the black screen loads up along with the green/pink thing. Then it continues, sometimes there would be a red line on the left hand side. I really hope that I could fix this. My laptop is a hp-f039wm. Thank you very much for your concern.

I have an old IBM laptop, a T20 running XP, works perfectly, never any problems.

Over the last few days there's a pink tinge bottom left of the screen, covers the start button, around 2" wide, quite dark but it fades as it gradually rises up the screen.

Been searching the help topics on the IBM website but can't find anything that relates, nothing on here either.

(I took a few pictures and posted them here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1T-ioTwMcTMcrc0qWhl31p8omPKFM0eJloeBgRKZWnfU/edit?usp=sharing) In January I bought a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M graphics card, updated to Windows 10 .I've had no problems until just recently. On March 28, the screen randomly got a pink and green tint. Previous windows left a pink or green overlay. All colors looked off, but mostly it looks like some white has turned pink and black has turned to green (as seen in pics).
