I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

About two months ago I purchased a Lenovo Y50 laptop, and upon having a bunch of minor issues (but not being able to return it due to a large restocking fee...) I was pretty much forced to deal with the problems myself. Currently, my biggest frustration is with mouse stuttering and freezing in games, mostly League of Legends. I could only find posts back in 2013 when Windows 8.1 was released, and those who upgraded to it experienced similar issues to mine, but the fix didn't work for me (obviously). Although I get stuttering occasionally when just browsing the internet or loading something, it's almost 100% recreatable in League of Legends after about 2 minutes in game. It feels like there's a "box" where, when my mouse goes through it, it stutters only on that part of the screen, but if that's true then the box moves throughout the game. It eventually becomes unplayable. I don't play much more than League, but I have gotten similar problems in other games as well so it probably isn't related to in-game settings. Does anyone have any ideas for me? It would be much appreciated.

The mouse works ok, but the multi touch is out of service. I´ve tryed to unistall and re install the driver serveral times. I removed the mouse driver at device manager and installed again. No success. Those images show what is going on. Does anybody know how to fix it?

Answer:Mouse multi touch out of service Idea pad G400S

Hi Fernandesl,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that Multi-touch feature is not working as expected in your G400s Laptop even after re-installing the Touchpad Driver in the computer, as per the image you have attached the Hardware is not getting enabled as the option is graded out, I suggest you to the Flee-Power in the computer, below are the steps to perform the same:

Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
Then check by disabling and then enabling the Touchpad pressing Fn+F6 together.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

Had some virus issues with a friends pc . Repaired windows with my boot cd , then went and tried to get all his windows updates , all went fine until I got to sp2, got through 80% of the install then it failed shoudl ahve written down the error but didn't just thought I would just reboot and try again. Now whenever the computer starts up the mouse it completly frozen , sometimes changes to the hourglass but never moves.

Have tried safe mode , same thing frozen. So I went to repair windows again , only this time when I get the haivng to accept the licence agreement ( press F8 ) I do and nothing happens ? It will not allow me to acceot the agreement ? It;s not a keyboard problem because it will let me not accept and reboot via keyboard but won;t acceopt the agreement ?

So I am really stumped now , I can't do anything in either safe or normal mode and can;t repair or re-install windows ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Answer:falied sp2 install resulted in frozen mouse ! any idea's ?

Are you using a USB mouse? because SP2 rewrites some USB code... Try using an "old port" mouse, not the newer USB ones.

Hi morasje, thanks fro psoting, I'm assuming that your machine cam with the wireless mouse and keyboard. Now just to confirm here, which Slot of the the USB did you insert the keyboard and mouse receiver? Did you place it in the USB3.0 slot or 2.0? Could you try diffrent placing the reciever in different slot and check for the changes then.Regards

I have a Lenovo Yoga.  I can not play videos using the powerDVD for Lenov Idea.  I have searched the internet, and it seems that this a problem that many encounter, but no one knows how to fix.  Does anyone know how to fix?

Answer:PowerDVD for Lenovo Idea

What, precisely, are you trying to do? Play DVDs from an external DVD drive? Play DVD image files (.iso, .img, .bin)? Play some other video format (e.g. .avi, .wmv, .mpg, .mp4, .mov, etc.)? Where did you download PowerDVD (link)? You might want to try VideoLAN's VLC Media Player. It's free to download/install/use.

I believe this is the Smile Dock application.  Open it and select the Maximize Box.  Then select Edit Profile from the pull-down menu (labeled Default), go to Add-Ins tab and uncheck all listed apps.  Then go to Account Information in the same pulldown menu.  Uncheck "Start Lenovo Smile-Dock when Windows starts" and uncheck the Lenovo updates and Idea Notes boxes. This eliminated everything for me.  Of course you could just uninstall Lenovo Smile Dock altogether if this does not work for you.

Hello, I?m new here and hope that someone can help me with my problem. First the specs of my notebook:-Lenovo IdeaPad Y50-70-OS: Windows 10, 64-bit-CPU: Intel Core i5-4210, 2,9GHz, 2 Cores-RAM: 8GB-GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600/ NVIDIA Geforce 960M-hard drive: 890GB HDD, 25GB SSD Since two months or so I have FPS drops in my games. I didn?t have them before. I?m sure that Fallout 4, Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, etc. worked perfectly fine. But then it started. Here an example of the FPS drops:In League of Legends, which I had first installed on the SSD, I always had a FPS of 90-180. Sometimes it drops to 10-20, when in a teamfight or even when simply moving. I installed it on the HDD now and have the feeling the drops happen less often. The FPS there is 60 and when it drops 9-13. And that?s what happens in a lot of games. In Skyrim, Fallout 4, Bastion, Far Cry 3 etc. They just lag when I move or when fighting? For weeks now I have searched for a solution, but found nothing that helped? I did/have checked the following things: -Using the lowest settings. Drops still happen. Even if it?s not a high end gaming notebook, I?m still expecting that it can play games like Fallout 4, Skyrim, Far Cry 3 and LoL on the highest settings. The recommendations are met after all. These drops even happen in very old games like Stalker ? Shadow of Chernobyl?-Drivers are all updated. I checked on that several times already.-Removed malwar... Read more

Hello, my name is yoni butbul and I have an IdeaPad Y560 laptop. A few months ago it began crashing on me. It would freeze up and the screen would start to get a blue checkered pattern then crash (sometimes recovering). I have sent my laptop into technical support two times and they have not fixed the issue. Upon calling technical support to help me with my laptop they said they would pass my case to somebody at Lenovo relations and they would call me. It has now been my 5th call to leno technical support after waiting for over 3 weeks, and still I get the same answer "someone from leno will call you" . ive waited patiently with a laptop I can't get work done on. Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Answer:Lenovo Idea Pad Y560 Keeps Crashing, Please Help

Did you try onekeyrecovery? And did this problem arise or was from the starting? And this is most probably a motherboard problem. Many y560users have faced this. Mention any specific situation when laptop crashes if any.

My laptop was working fine while i was playing (league of legends to be exact) when suddenly my fps went down greatly then i found out the problem was my laptop was running on 800MHz (using realtemp) and won't go up. I could not find the problem much less the solution. When i couldn't find anything i tried the one key recovery to revert to factory settings, but still the problem persisted. I found on the net that most people with this problem used throttle stop so i did too. It was working fine but then my charger broke (my battery is dead too, broke around a week or two before my charger). I thought that my charger was causing the throttling because my laptop worked great again after buying a new charger. But that lasted only for a day. It is now throttling again at 800MHz. I am afraid that something will break again but i can't seem to find the problem. temperature is consistently around 40-60 degrees C. I hope someone knows or previously had this problem that found a solution. or at least knows exactly what the problem is. I turned my Lenovo laptop on Friday to see the usual splash Lenovo on start up and then nothing else happened it kept continually doing that and going no further. Just so you know my laptop has no warranty left as I got it last Christmas second hand. I have been looking at demonstration videos on you tube and what I have tried so far is. I plugged in an external usb keyboard and got into bios and checked it was detecting my hard drive and it was. The next step I did was disconnect internal power/ battery and did the hold of the power button for 30 seconds to 1 minute  with the power cord connected only. And it was still doing the same. I then got advised to remove the cmos battery turn on laptop and then back off and put the battery back in. This has also failed to work so now I am looking for help here as I don't know what to do next and am hoping someone here has a different suggestion for me to try and hopefully get my laptop back up and running. Thank you in advance for any help given.

There is a partition "D" , 25GB,  called Lenovo that I'm puzzled about , so I have some questions (I have looked at some of this thread also new disk partioning and one key recover feature ) On D there is a folder, "drivers" , which I think could have been on the main C partition. I thought the purpose of D was to be a dedicated space for a system backup, using "Onekey". But shouldn't such a partition be invisible?  I also noticed an invisible 14GB recovery partition next to the viible D disc., when I look at disc management. In OneKey I can do a system backup. It says that it needs 44GB. That's more than the size of the D partition. Will it always backup all the data in C ? Then it will be a huge amount over time. So I don't get the idea behind OneKey or the D partition. You can do a system backup in windows 8 that you save to USB. But that takes only 16GB. I'm gessing that's only the most vital system data. I would have liked to have the total 1000GB partitioned into a 300GB C disc, and the rest on a D partition. If I want to erase the current D partition, how can I transfer any important drivers to the main C disc? I hope that I can do that and then create a new partition out of C. Any suggestions or explanations?

Answer:The idea with the D partition (Lenovo z50) and OneKey

Hi, i have a Z50 for a few days..i've not idea about the D: partition but I guess it's a partition to save drivers and allow users to access it.. concerning the hidden partition.it is not possible to burn recovery disks using One Key Recoverythe only way to recover your system from factory is using the recovery partition (not C, not D, but the hidden partition)so better to keep it. As C: is the main partition i guess you can only reduce the volume, not extend it (as in windows 7).I would copy file from D: (drivers) to C:then I would delete D: and resize C: hope it helped.mike

I have a Lenovo Idea Pad S10 and I love it.  Its a great little machine.  I do have a question or two please.  Can on put a bigger harddrive in it and how much memory is the max.  I currently have 2 GB of memory. Also, I tried to do my income tax using it---I use Taxcut and tried to install it on and the machine said that it couldn't do Taxcut.  I am assuming that the system is not big enough to handle it.  If true that I fine as I have a desktop, but I was just wondering if one can get a bigger hard drive and if that would make a difference. No complaints at all its a great machine. Thanks,Bobby

Answer:The mouse pointer is not color managed. Even in Windows 8.1. Who thought this was a good idea? [EOM]

Hi AeronSophus,
This is the only configuration I can figure out to manage the mouse pointers.
As far as I know, the mouse pointer will be changed automatically in some programs especially when we played a full screen game. So this behavior may be supported by specific API and the Windows system only support the basic configurations at present. Different
people have different needs, it is a little hard to meet all the needs.
Demand is the motivation of the development and we are concentrated on making the Windows system better and better. The Windows 10 will be released on July 29. If there are so many people expecting this configuration, we could try to submit a feedback about
this configuration. But a new feature should be multifaceted evaluation before it is actually added into the system.

I have a Y510P Lenovo Ideapad with Dual nVidia 755m Graphics Cards (Ultra Bay) with Windows 8.1 I bought this computer back in May (31st) and didn't have problems until mid-July. I've been getting constant BSOD ever since then, they happen simply for just turning on my computer, to browsing Firefox, Chrome, and or Internet Explorer. They happen whenever I play a video game or watch a movie or do art on Photoshop CS. The BSOD are constantly random, the majority being MEMORY_MANAGMENT and or BAD_POOL_HEADER; I've had ones that have had weird names like ENTIRE CORRUPTION TO SYSTEM ABORT (or some nonsense like that) or something to do with my Kernel. I've lurked on threads here and a mutitude of other websites to try and find a problem. I have updated my computer constantly to see if that was the problem with the drivers or something similar and nothing.  I've even deleted my entire OS and reinstalled it using the options on WIndows 8.1. They continue and are even more frequent then before. I've noticed that the non-Ultra Bay nVidia 755m is constantly running and the Ultra Bay graphics card barely runs; somethings not working and I don't know what it is. I've had to constantly remove and replug in the Ultra Bay 755m nVidia Graphics card in order for my laptop to see it and I've turned on and off the SLI enabler but still nothing. The left graphics card is always extremely hot and I have no idea how to resolve that. It can over heat simply from watching a strea... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Idea Pad 110s battery "95% not charging"

Hi chrisalk13  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

For newer computers , preventing batteries to reach 100 % are buffer to prolong battery life.
Energy manager softwares  and BIOS smart battery technology would control this buffering.

Disabling such features and turning the power options to high performance from default conservation mode would allow it to reach 100 % .

Update us how it goes for you.

Answer:Lenovo B320 Idea Centre - OKR not working

Hi richp1902,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

There is another way to launch the OKR,
Turn the Computer off, Power it back ON and start tapping F2, This should boot you into a Recovery Software and let you perform OKR

If that step did not bring you to an OKR software that means that the OKR system is busted.
You should call suppor Team and ask for a Recovery CD, Let them know that the OKR feature is not working.
You should be able to get a REcovery CD that will do the OKR for you

Try reaching support from this link
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/contactus/supportphonelist

Hope this helps
Cheers!

I bought this PC some years ago, My problem is I have tried to re set the system using System reboot/restore, The pc refuses to recognise either the keyboard, mouse, external DVD, mouse or keyboard.. Basically I have tried everything and nothing will work, the screen prompts the use of up/down on the keyboard to select but with nothing working I have no solution! Has anyone had this issue? This happened just as the warranty ran out and was told it may be the mother board, I was also informed by PC World it would cost in excess of £250.... To add to this the on/off button disintigrated and had no luck finding a replacement..... Not a very good advert for Lenovo I have to say.Any advice or solution would be greatly appreciated....

Answer:Lenovo Idea Centre A310, Will not reboot

hi Dombey,

Welcome to the Forums.

Have you attempted to access the BIOS by pressing F1 as soon as the Lenovo splash screen appears? Are all the USB ports non functioning? (there should be 4 ports)

if you're able to get into the BIOS, try to:
1. Press F9 to reload the hardware configuration to defaults
2. Navigate to the Devices Tab > USB Setup and ensure the USB legacy support is enabled then press F10 to save and exit BIOS.

3. If you're not able to access the BIOS, try to clean the USB ports with a can of compressed air and some Qtips. If same problem, you may need to send the unit in for service (some local repair shops do board level soldering to repair broken USB ports).

Hi, I have installed windows 8 64 bit operating system, but I'm not able to find drivers. Please help me on this. Thanks, Harish

Answer:Lenovo Idea Pad Y730 windows 8 drivers

Hi aharish007,

Thanks for using Lenovo Community Forums!

You would need to find the drivers manually

Open Device Manager.
There you'll find devices that has a yellow marks on it, Those are the devices that needs Windows 8 drivers.

Try getting the Hardware ID of those devices that you need drivers from.
Either Paste it back here or Look it up through Google.
Doing that you'll know what device is that and what name is it
Now do a Google of that Device name with a lenovo windows 8 with your search and you'll find compatible links for download from other model.

Hope this helps,
Cheers!

Hi Have had a problem with my Lenoiva Idea Centre All in One - within 2 weeks of receiving it the screen - for no apparent reason that I could see - suddenly began turnign from white to grey then to black - almost like someone spilling black coffee on white carpet. The display came back on btu then aftger a hiel began cycling thorugh the colours red, white, blue and black before the display eventually went balck altogether and would not come on again. I returned this under warranty and was told they had replaced the video card. It then went wrong again a few weeks later but the company I purchased it from began playing the 'lets ignore him and he'll eventually go away game' which I did as they weren't replying. I took it to a local dealer who repaired it - saying that he had 're-seated the graphics card' and adjusted the cable. This doesn't sound like he's done anything amazing to me but anyway two weeks after this the screen has started turning from white - grey - black yet again - then staying black and refusing to come on at all. I have never seen this fault on a computer ever and would appreciate it if someone could tell me whether this is repairable or whether I should heave into the nearest skip. Thanks

Hello,,i am interested in buying a new PC and the K410 range seems to have a very good spec along with a good price. After some research i found out that all K410 models share the same Intel H61 Express Chipset which on other sites quotes up to 16gb of ram support, all K410 models start with 8gb which is great however i would like to have room to upgrade in the future but it seems on the spec sheets for all k410 models it quotes 8gb max.apologise if this has been asked before but im ready to pull the trigger on the purchase today all being well.many thanks

Answer:Lenovo Idea Centre K410 Desktop PC MAX RAM

Hello and welcome,

Lenovo typically lists the specifications of configs it actually ships.  That 8G max is max avalable, not necessarily max usable.

Here's what Crucial has to say:  Crucial® Memory Advisor results for the Lenovo IdeaCentre K410 Desktop/PC.

I can't personally verify this, so YMMV.

I know, I know, most of you probably regard the Idea Central software as just another marketing tool that should be removed but I actually like it for the quick video content page, news items, etc.So I'm thinking of rebuilding my S10-3 to get a cleaner software load without some of the other Lenovo sw junk but I actually would like to have the Idea Central software. Any idea where I can get it. It isn't posted as a download on the Lenovo site.Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Hi there my screen cracked and I'm trying to purchase a new screen. I'm getting a bit confused because I can't find my specific screen (lenovo idea pad 305-15IHW) but what I seem to keep finding another three screens, 305-80NL000AGE, 305-15ABM) would either of these be compatible? What screen should I buy? Any answers or help are greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Nel x

Answer:Help needed - replacing lenovo idea pad screen

I normally point people to the real support page for their PC; but, your model is coming up in a foreign language!
Here is a link to the Hardware Maintenance manual:
https://www.manualowl.com/m/Lenovo/305-15IHW-Laptop/Manual/450741
If you're up to it, the correct course of action is to remove the LCD panel from the top cover so you can read its model number on the back. Buying that LCD model is what you really want to do and it should save you a bunch of money, too.

Hello - I recently purchased an Idea Desktop which uses Windows 8.  I still had the Microsoft 2003 disks from my old computer and I thought that I would load these for the timebeing until I purchased a new version of Microsoft office.  I have since heard that they are not compatible with Windows 8.  Computer is now behaving very erratically.  It will not let me uninstall 2003.  I have tried to reset the machine but the recovery seems to be missing and will not work.  All the troubleshooters that I go to it says that the file name is wrong.  I have tried to look at the C:\ drive but it is coming up as completely full.  I am thinking that somehow the c:\ drive is corrupted, but I don't know how to fix it.  Hope that someone can help - I am not too technical.  Many thanks

Answer:Lenovo Idea 430 - Windows 8 - Corrupted 2003

Hi Sharon123,

You might check your C: drive (system) for errors. Open Windows Explorer > Right-click the C: drive > Select Properties > Open the Tools tab > Click "Check".

If this doesn't help, here is how to create a USB recovery drive:

http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57601638-285/how-to-create-a-windows-8-usb-recovery-drive/

It's very important to check the box "Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive".

When you are done, you just have to boot from the USB drive to reset (or refresh) your PC.

EDIT: if "Copy the recovery partition ..." is greyed out, it means that for any reason you don't have a Recovery partition. In this case you should ask Lenovo to send you a recovery CD.

Hi, I recently used the One Key Recovery, everything went smoothly as my computer returned to the manufacturer's original software. However, I noticed that the icon for the battery management was no longer there (actually I think it was missing for a while, never noticed until I reset my computer). I reinstalled the program but to no avail, the icon never shows up.   Most likely I'll just end up figuring out how to use Windows to change the setup for battery longevity, but I preferred Lenovo's easy to use interface in it's energy management program.  Maybe somebody here might have more insight in to something I might have overlooked (novice here). My theory isI might have deleted something essential in running that program or a Windows update rendered it obsolete.  Thanks for your time.  EDIT: Nevermind, found the icon on the bottom right corner of my computer. Strange that it wouldn't launch straight from the setup. Apologies if I wasted anybody's time.

System: Windows 10 64 bitAfter turning it on from sleepmode the keyboard and mouse weren't working. So I restarted it and Windows installed some updates. The keyboard and the TouchPad still weren't working. The USB mouse was, also the FN keys. I tried the F6 button it didn't help, so with the screen keyboard I was able to log in and type the pass. After that I went to device manager and the Lenovo TouchPad had a yellow triangle. So I went to Lenovo website and downloaded the driver, uninstalled and installed the new one, restarted again - no luck. When I clicked on the mouse menu in control panel popped up a message that said "couldn't connect to the driver. Etc etc" In device manager even after the update it was with yellow triangle. So I saw in a thread here in the forum that sometimes the installing of Synaptics driver helped, but after that even the USB mouse stopped working and the FN keys too, so I am no longer able to log in to the notebook with the screen keyboard. I can't enter BIOS with F2. Somehow I managed to get into recovery and the USB mouse was working there but when I tried to go into safe mode I can't because of the FN keys. Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

This looks like there might be a hardware issue.

Note: As per the Lenovo policy, the warranty will be void if the laptop is dismantled by yourself. so you will need to contact lenovo for a replacement ODD. Please click this LINK for nearest service centres details.

My laptop was working wonderful when I noticed a barely visible vertical line appear in the background off an on.  Within about a week, the entired screen developed both horizontal and vertical lines that cover the entire screen off and on.  The screen now mostly remains blurred with a few seconds of the regular screen off and on.  The screen still responds to touch and works fine when attached to another screen.  There is no damage to the laptop?

Geek Squad believes the graphic card is bad.  I bought this comuter 02/19/2015 and this issue began 06/10/16.  Just a few months out of warranty.  I am waiting to see what Lenovo can do for me now if anything.  I was told that Lenovo computers are amongst the best and I may have purchased a lemon.

This is the response from Lenovo regarding their customer service:

Hello Mitchell,We have reviewed your case that is tied to machine with serial # *****. We are showing that this machine went out of warranty on 2/19/2016. Since this machine is more than a few months out of warranty there is nothing that Lenovo can do at this time. As we must have a definite time when machine can no longer be covered by warranty. Hi

Welcome To Lenovo Community

I presume that you have got preinstalled windows 7 System, Which you upgraded to Windows 8 now you have downgraded to windows 7. I have few questions & suggestion
How you downgraded to windows 7 using Recovery System or using windows OEM Disk
I am presuming that you have used the OEM disk, I would suggest you to use the OKR feature to restore to factory default by press F11 button during Post i.e.. When Lenovo Logo is displayed and follow onscreen instructions

Have you created a set of recovery media? If yes you can use these to recovery your system

Note: Before using above steps please ensure you have backed up your data

Hope This Helps
Cheers!!!

Hello everyone!Just registered because I have a few questions which I need some further clarification on if you guys would be so kind to help  So... I have the lovely b310, which has done what ive needed up until now going to be used for hardcore programming and maybe the odd game or 2.Based on the research I am aware that the current i3 550 processor is using the 1156 port, so I should be able to replace it with a i5 680, the question is can I be cheecky enough to get away with installing an i7? I have taken it apart and found that there are 2 slots for ram at the moment there is 2 x 2gb rams, I have read somewhere that 8GB can be installed but im not sure if my h55 can achieve this full potential? I have read that the graphics card is fixed into the motherboard, this does not need changing im not a heavy gamer, but would it be possible to change even if it meant changing the motherboard? Im not an expert as im sure you have sussed (Programming FTW!) but I have a general knowledge on it so all ideas are very welcome! Thanks guys  Moderator comment: Please refrain from bumping your thread(s) / post(s) more frequently than 3 days. Apologies if this is covered somewhere more specifically, but quick searches were not finding it. Just bought a Lenovo Idea Pad because of some incompatibilities between Chromium on Linux and some sites I need access to, and en passant filled it with some retrogames because I frankly forgot how large a footprint Windows has compared to Linux (17 Gb in the Windows folder, ye gods), so quickly hit space  warnings. Unfortunately, they're not going away with uninstalls. Cleaned temp files, cccleaners, removed games, removed Office (Google meets my needs so pfft), still getting warnings, 6 1/3rd Gb free on disk and Windows update is still returning warnings about updates requiring < 1Gb of temp space, Chrome returns failures downloading large files that are nonetheless well under the space free, et al. My initial feeling was this was a nice simple Windows 10 install for my needs, but actually I had 2Gb free even when I had the games installed, and this is getting ridiculous. What's causing these false space warnings? Thanks,Jonnan

I have a new K320 w/ the Intel i3 core, 6GB ram, and intel integrated graphics. I want to start playing games (World of Warcraft) and my monitor is a generic eMachine 18 inch at 1366x768. Can this handle the demands of the new games coming out or should I upgrade? If so, to what? I do not want to spend over $150 on a graphics card. Thanks!

Answer:Video Card for Lenovo Idea Center K320?

I have the same system I added a radeon hd 4550 1 gig video card because the intel integrated graphics just wont handle playing games. How ever there is a catch to adding a video card to this system and that is the power supply that comes stock. I had to upgrade to a 450 watt because it only comes with a 280 watt psu. Even the low end video cards like mine require at least a 300 watt or greater. But it definatly makes a big difference when playing games. If you want to play games like wow or crysis you will probly want a better card than I have.

Hey there. my name is krissy, and i am really having a difficult time here. my ex boyfriend bought me this lenovo idea pad -B570, MODEL NUMBER-1068 just last october, so yep, it is SO VERY NEW, and my default warranty runs out in july of this year, 2012, but i am now not comfortable sending this to the company, for what they did to it early last night.

about in october, or november i recall, and i dont know why i did this, but i went on the programs and features part in the computer, and then under the programs list i double clicked the left mouse button over the youcam program. i honestly sweart to you i am clueless as to why though. anyways, then the thing in a minute or so, the words youcam, or word i shall say just vanished off the programs list, and i thought, "UH OH, I JUST DELETED MY WEBCAM OFF OF THE PROGRAMS LIST SO OH NO...ITS GONE NOW!!!!"

i STILL though could take pictures, and then videos to send to my love of my life(still is, but well, not all punk rock boys, are well honest, and this punk rock dream made true as i was told wasnt able to handle lies, and cheating). anyways i dont know how i even made these, sent them, for well, where did i even go for the ability to even click on an icon to get to the cam??

now though..i cannot find it ANYWHERE, except a few times when scouring my computer for it, and someplace it was there, and i clicked open, and well now it does this....when it comes up on my screen the pic, and video screen is PIT... Read more

Answer:pls help me. lenovo idea pad B-570, model number is 1068 has several problems

Krissy,

Welcome to the forum !

I can appreciate that you have a lot of things on your mind and some of them we may be able to help you with here, and some may require support that is beyond what we can provide through the forum.

If you are missing driver support for your camera, I would start with downloading and reinstalling the camera drivers from our support site.  Here is the page for all the drivers relevant to the B570.

If you are unable to get the camera of other functions of the system working properly, you may want to give technical support a call 877-453-6686 in the US.  They can help you get the camera working again and can remote into your system if needed.

Some of your questions may related to some installed programs no longer working as you expect them too.  Missing buttons, etc.    For this kind of help, we have some support services that may be available for a nominal fee - these are LenovoCare Premium support.  The are available by phone or chat, and can also remote into your system to address some kinds of software and configuration issues that are outside the scope of normal warranty service.   The number is 877-737-1082.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.  I hope that some combination of these support options will help get your system working again the way you need.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi,

One possibility:

Is it an n mode router?  WEP isn't supposed to be used in n mode, although some devices and routers will allow it.  If your router is running n mode it may be that your laptop is doing the "right" thing by not connecting.

What happens if you configure your router to use a different encryption mode?

I have a Black screen issue on an Idea Centre B320. But unlike others on here it really is completely Black, as in no cursor, no logo, nothing! Although Windows loads in the background. Things started happening after the Win 10 upgrade, screen kept going blank, shook mouse, screen back on so thought it was a power save issue that needed adjustment. Then one day it just stayed off, every time i reboot, nothing. Can't boot in to safe mode as screen is completely blank, tried all the keyboard tricks F2 e.t.c, nothing works, i can even get the voice narrator working so can basically log in blind and the start screen loads in the background. Voice narrator informs me that all the screen icons are there so everything is working apart from the screen! One tech guy reconed it was a hardware problem and i'd need a new motherboard at a cost of £200... however, another tech guy said, 'it's a software problem relating to Win 10... so, who is right, and what can i do about it?! Please help if anyone can as it's an amazing piece of kit with a large screen, at the moment i am using a refurb Dell latitude which is absolute crap, so i want the Lenovo up and running again as soon a possible! Any ideas? Regards, Steve.

Answer:my Lenovo flex10 idea pad is making a beeping nois...

Check for a stuck key on the keyboard,   If one key is stuck it will fill the keyboard buffer and will beep something like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-lZ6qkVfWg If that is what you are hearing, no worries, but a good cleaning of the keyboad using some canned air and a vacume cleaner might be in order. Good luck.

My power adapter to my Y500 Idea pad is messed up. The wiring inside must have gotten damaged somehow and is now faulty. It only charges my laptops when angle in certain positions, or goes in and out. It's the 170W AC adapter one, but is there really a difference in using one of the small Wattage Adapters? The 170W one is just way out of price-range for me so I'm looking for one of the cheaper versions. I found one online that is "Y500 AC Adapter 90Watt 19V 4.74A". Would that work with my laptop?  I don't understand how different wattages affect my laptop (I'm assuming it affects charging time) so any help is appreciated. I generally keep my laptop plugged in with the battery removed, so I don't have to worry too much about charging the battery, if that's any help.Thank you!

I purchased a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 a few months ago and I voluntarily purchased the three-year extended warranty because I had heard such great things about Lenovo's repair services and warranty services.  Many people had told me that the warranty services were top-notch and frustration free.  Not true so far in my experience.  First, the screen crack started out as a hairline crack.  I did not drop the laptop or in any way cause the problem.  It just appeared one day and then got worse.  I spoke with Lenovo and they sent me a box to send it to them for the repair, but then they sent it back to me unfixed.  They did not even attempt to fix the crack and told me that they would require my credit card number to repair the screen and that it would cost no less than $900.  This is nearly twice the price of the laptop itself as purchased new.  The Lenovo technician apparently thought that I had caused the crack in the screen and nothing I said could change the technician's false belief that the problem had actually occurred through no fault of my own and might actually be a manufacturer's problem.  I am not happy with Lenovo's handling of this matter so far and wanted to see if others had had similar problems.  Another problem is that if Lenovo does not fix the laptop, then I have a 2 and half year remaining warranty that I paid for that will now be for a laptop that does not even work.  I am now stuc... When I use 'Skype test call', I too can understand that my recorded voice is very dull and its not clear. In my previous Laptop(not a Lenovo) there were 2 small holes to fix the jacks for speaker & mic. And I did not have Skype problems ever. The new Lap top  (Lenovo Idea B590a (59-393989)) is having only ONE hole to fix the jack for both speaker & mic. I got a extension with both speaker & mic wires and then plug in to my Lenovo laptop.  I am not sure is there is any technical faults in this new machine. (Why I think like that is because when I use Skype from my OFFICE p/c to the same Skype contacts, sounds/recordings are all fine, no issue at all) Since I am alone in HK, Skype calling to my family + all other  friends overseas is very important to me. Having bought new Lenovo laptop, it seems I have lost that opportunity as all of them cannot hear me properly. I am sure this is not something about 'Skype setting' it got to do something with the lap top. Any help pls.. thank you all.!

Answer:Lenovo Idea B590a (59-393989) - Lap Top.. sound/recording problem (with skype)

Hi hkarmf,It is probably all good with your laptop and therefore with microphone. Did you test the sound both with internal microphone and the one you bought? Do they both produce unclear sound?

Having searched many sites and the internet generally to find an answer to my problem the main answer is to go to the manufacturer of the PC as they installed Microsoft Office Starter 2010 programme.  The problem is as follows:everytime  I finish a Word document in Office 2010 Starter and print off and go to click of/out by Xing top right corner I get a light blue screen which hangs.  By a series of clicking the X and the blue screen I get the message 'WinwordC.exe not working'.  It eventually clears but originally the page cleared instantly. I've tried the 'repair' via the control panel way without success, and re-installed the programme. What is the cause and how does one resolve the problem? Can anybody help please.

Answer:Lenovo A310 Idea Centre - Microsoft Office 2010 Starter Edition

Hello Fshrbcpp,

It seem to be some compatibility issue, kindly update the Ms Office 2010 service pack.

After you install the service pack restart the system and check the issue.

I have two T61s running Vista Business 32 bit. One is at Vista SP2 and the other at SP1. As of 27 August 2009.the Lenovo BT mouse failed to be recognized. on the SP1 machine. All  drivers within Device manager have been checked to be at the most recent available., i.e. Bluetooth Radios, Human Interface Devices, Network Adaptors, Mice and Other Pointers.  The SP1 laptop's mouse is recognized by the SP2 laptop and is usable. The SP2 recognises the SP1 Laptop when positioned closeby. So therefore SP1 bluetooth capability is functioning in the mouse and in the SP1 laptop, but the SP1 laptop wil not recognize  either the Lenovo SP1 mouse or for that matter the Lenovo SP2 mouse. All Lenovo updates and Window updates have been performed on both machines. The SP1 laptop will not upgrade to SP2., but this is not believed to be the cause of this problem, as the mouse functioned correctly for several days after attempting the SP2 upgrade. I have run Lenovo Sytem Tool Box on the SP2 to see if there are issues. Lenovo Backup is a  'not been performed  for 100 days' "problem". And there is an L2CAP possible problem, which seems not to affect Bluetooth mouse function. When Bluetooth devices are tested with Lenovo System Tool Box and in normal use there is no problem.  I am about to run Lenovo Sytem Tool Box on the SP1 Laptop test to determine if there are any detectable problems....but it's getting late, and 10 hours ... Answer:Lenovo Bluetooth Mouse: failure to be recognized by Lenovo T61

Bluetooth issues can be caused by a myriad of permutations and if you're adventurous of affliced with obsessive compulsive disorder you may continue to flip ever possible combination of settings and finsih in about the same amount of time that thousands of scientists around the world took to map the human DNA strand. OR From reading your description, ensure you're actually  resetting the mouse after you successfully verified the BT mouse worked with Vista SP2. The manufacturers of BT devices are bombarded with worthy albeit annoying consumer complaints of why their BT peripherals have to be repaired with systems if offline or offline too long. The manufacturers have reacted by defaulting their devices into stickier mode so in your case...you may have actually fixed the issue but the BT mouse hasn't fully disconnected from the VISTA SP2 even if Vista says so (..you're trusing Microsoft to give an accurate reading???) and just disabling the BT adapter on your working vistaSp2 box hasn't necessarily disengaged the BT mouse from  groping for its old partner.Find the instructions included with the mouse to fully break device pairing since BT devices can still be sticky even with dropped batteries since a small flash ram chip is enough for a $40 BT mouse to remember partners and avoid your SP1 box. The next best practice, ...try BT connectivity with the native Windows utility and without  OEM software such as the BT application package that is around 8... im looking for a laptop that's around $500~700

what im looking for is something that has high processing and i would use it to do stuff on the internet and common presentation use and general appliances such as photoshop for example but im not going to use it for gaming

some ppl suggest me asus k50ab but i heard it's for gaming
some ppl suggest inspiron 14

some people suggest me to get a lenovo thinkpad series since im looking for durability, my friend bought one too and so far only his battery is a little funky

since i know basically nothing about laptop
which one should i pick?
which one would you suggest me to get?

Answer:Need a laptop: no idea what to get

We have found over the years that the Lenovo is the most reliable, though more costly, than any other. I have owned over 30 of them, and still use them as loaners when working on someone's computer.
ASUS is developing an excellent reputation as a laptop builder. Some Toshiba's and Some HP or Compaq are good. I like Dells in the upper half of the Dell price range. I would stay away from Sony, Acer, eMachines, Gateway, and no-name brands.h

I was lucky enough to get one of these CR-48 laptops. After putting Ubuntu on it, I had the perfect laptop for me. Substantially long battery life, Linux, solid state drive (albeit, a small one @ 16gb), etc.

However, I've been having issues with it. I've always had issues with Chrome OS but excused it for being beta software. Three Linux OS's later, it's definitely hardware. I bought a new (and much faster) SSD to replace the old one, but I'm skeptical. I think it's the motherboard.

Anyway, I'm looking for a laptop. My requirements aren't too crazy.

Required:
Intel Atom Dual Core (or something comparable by AMD)
Decent battery life (5 hours or more)
11-12" screen

Preferred, but not required:
Solid state drive (even if it's a small one)
Wireless N (I have a spare PCIE ABGN card if need be)

The best thing I can find is an official release of the new ChromeBook, known as the Acer AC700.

Amazon.com: Acer AC700 Chromebook (Wi-Fi): Computer & Accessories

350 bucks. It's basically like the CR-48, except a dual core instead of a single core and 2 USB ports instead of 1. It also has HDMI out, and... a warranty!

I thought about buying a used CR-48 on Ebay and just using that, but they're going for 200-300. I have a hard time spending that much money on a used piece of hardware that was sent out in a beta test drive. If it was 100 or 125, I'd be all over it. But I use the laptop a lot, and it sucks having to constantly have power/boot issues with i... Read more

Hi,My ideapad is not booting. It shows the bios and and boot up options normally, but it does proceed to boot from harddisc or even from a boot cd. The bios is appearing and I can see in the bios that RAM, HDD, CD Drive are all detected. But instead of booting it just hangs with a white cursor in the left top.I can see that the HDD light is glowing only when the system is powered on and the CD light is glowing, when I put a cd in. But when I try to boot from CD using a live ubuntu cd, the cd drive light is not glowing, i.e no signs of reading from the drive. This appears to be wierd to me, I have 2 x 2048 RAMS and I tried removing both and tested with only one of them at a time. Still it wont boot. What could be the problem here? Could the bios have got corrupted? If yes is there any easy way to flash/reset the bios? or Am i missing something. Please help gurus..Thanks,venkatesh

I'm using Xp Dell's Vostro 1510 laptop,

At first, the monitor would show two equal and separate screens on the same monitor like top and bottom when i turn on the computer, but it became OK when I logged in. Then later, When i restarted the computer, the monitor will show 2 separate screens after i logged in. So what i have done is i used system recover to the earliest date i could assign to, and check virus. Then it would become ok. After few days, when i booted my computer, my computer froze at login page and i had to reboot the computer in safe mode. And check my virus stuff and recovery stuff and it would work again. Now, when i turn on the computer, the monitor becomes stripped with black and purple colours and nothing would happen. When i press power button, it turns off right away too.
So what i have done is trying to format it with a bootable vista CD, but nothing happens.(Well, from my perspective because the screen is all purple and stuff). But when i press power button, it turns off right away again.

So what can i do??

What is going on??

Can I fix this without sending it to the AS center??

one thing i am sure is that monitor is working properly because the power is always on.

Thanks so much..

lykfe

p.s. i will try to upload a video of what happens when i turn on the computer.

I got an old gateway latop with 1.5 GB ram and 1.3 MGz processor. I read that many old computers can upgrade to Windows 8 depending on the processor and needs to support PAE, NX, and SSE2. Firstly thanks for looking and potentially helping.I have a laptop and i am looking to upgrade the RAM. I have searched loads of sites and i can only find 1 site that has the exact model number in its search facilities. Hence my question is, Is all RAM specific???"My laptop is a Toshiba  Satelite  A40-702, model number  PSA40E-0E4N1-ENSo far only Orca lists this exact model for RAM upgrades ( and according to them the memory is 200-Pin PC2100 (266MHz) DDR SODIMM), can anyone tell me if i should just buy from them (seems expensive to me!) or is there just a specific type of RAM i can buy which might not be listed under my laptop model, i think you all know what i mean!!!After reading this back the thought occours, is the memory i need just 200-Pin PC2100 (266MHz) DDR SODIMM??Also can you tell me the difference between ECC and non-ECCAnyway if you need anymore details let me know.Sonny

Unless you want a ton of *censored* ads clogging up your e-mail box it's probably not a good idea to post your e-mail addy here...As to the RAM question have you visited the crucial.com website to make sure that is what the machine takes ? ?You don't have to neccessarily buy it from crucial but they will tell you exactly what type that laptop will be able to use.If it is an older style of RAM the price goes up exponentially due to the laws of supply and demand.Good Luck.patio.  8-)

I've tried to do a search for this, but I can't seem to find anything that matches exactly what happened to my Dell.

I had a Dell Inspiron 1501 or something like that and I was on it one minute and then I went back a few minutes later and it was dead. My charger wasn't plugged in and for the life of me I can't remember if the battery was low or if it just went out on its own.

Anyway, I went to plug up the charger and the green light wouldn't come on to let me know it was charging (on the charger itself) and it wasn't doing anything to my laptop. I unplugged it from that outlet and plugged it up in another and the green light came on. I figured it was the outlet, so I brought my laptop to where the light came on and as soon I hooked up the charger to the laptop, the green light went out.

I brought it to Best Buy b/c they said they could test it out before buying a new charger so I wouldn't waste $100+ if it wasn't that to begin with. Of course, it didn't come on. It did the same exact thing. They said it's most likely the motherboard and not even worth trying to get it fixed.

Thank God for my external hard drive with ALL my stuff on it, but there were very few things I didn't save and it'd be nice if I could get the Dell to come back on so I can get them.

Has anyone heard of this happening and if so, is it even worth me paying someone to try and salvage it? Any idea on how to make sure it doesn't happen to m... Read more

I got a new laptop from Best Buy about a month and a half ago.

Worked great, until last night, while watching tv on Hulu.com, it started to make this squealing noise. It has NO rhythm, just comes and goes as it pleases, sometimes it is a long beep, and sometimes just very short and quick. After a few mins of this, it just shut down. I tried to turn it back on, and it didn't even let me sign in. I gave up.. until today, I tried to turn it on, and it did what the computer called a system recovery start up. Then it wanted to use a restart point. My brother thought it was a virus, so we let the computer do its thing. It is on and running now.. But still with the ever so annoying squeals.
This time ASUS is allowing us to send in the laptop. Saying that it will take between 10-20 business days.

Is this worth it??
And what would you say is the problem here??:confused

A few years ago I got an ASUS, and I was told the motherboard fried (within a week), I was given a new laptop, and the same thing happened again. I ended up getting an hp..

After vowing then to never buy from ASUS, I figured I'd try just once more.. and here we are again.

Answer:Brand new ASUS laptop.... Bad Idea.

It could be cooling fans. My Gateway made a similar squealing sound. I removed the heatsink assembly then cleaned and relubricated the fans and the squeal has not returned in a year. Mine was 5 years old and well out of warranty so I had little to lose, but I recommend you send it in under the warranty.

Laptop substitute - indigeneous idea...!!!

Hi everyone,

I always wanted a laptop but still till date it seems there will never ever be a situation where i will purchase one with the configurations i want...(2 GB RAM; atleast 80 GB HDD; etc etc)...as budget for laptop that i desire will run in almost two thousand dollars...

Now I am thinking of an alternative and need to know what u people think about it...???

MY SITUATION:

I travel say to a different city and stay there for say 1-2 months...then again move to a different place and so on...this essentially means that I am mobile but staying at different locations for longer periods...

WHAT I AM THINKING:

I need basically a computer system when I am say in city A for 1 month and again in city B for say 2 months like this...its NOT that i need it while travelling in train/ air for that day...

SO what if i purchase say.....

A. a FLAT MONITOR (may be 15" or 17") along with

B. APC 500 VA UPS (which acts as laptop battery for me) and

C. The smalllest available cabinet (CPU Box) so that I can put 2 GB RAM; Intel Motherboard; P4 3.2 Ghz; CD/DVD writer; 1 or if possible 2 HDD and say antec smps...

I am thinking (correct me if i am wrong) that this way:

Cabinet (with everything inside) + Flat Monitor + UPS (smallest) can act as my laptop at different locations....

Cabinet + Flat Monitor + UPS = One suitcase = Virtual Laptop

I understand that obvious disadvantage is that I cannot use it while travelling thats wh... Read more

Hello,

I have a Dell XPS m1530 laptop, and I had an idea that I wanted to discuss. It has a built in SD/MMC reader, if i were to buy an 8gb SD card and install a game on it would it be faster? I know read times on flash disks are very good...

Also, power consuption? The hard disc wouldn't need to be on...

I'm just intrigued... Any ideas are welcome!

Also are there ExpressCard SSDs?

Thanks guys!

Alex.

Answer:Flash memory idea for a laptop

depends on the speed. generally the nicer the card(or more expensive) the faster the speed it also depends on the speed of your computer and its ports. i personally have been able to play halo pc(the first 1) off a usb 2.0 sony 2gb flash drive with no lag.

I was thinking of putting something like windows xp and windows 7 in a laptop

So i was going to create 2 partitions a small one ( about 35 gb) for windows xp, and the rest for windows 7.

I wanted to do this because of some things i like to use on xp operating systems which have some compatibility issues with windows 7, and i don't feel like carrying another laptop so i just wanted to have both OS in 1.

Then if i somehow get a virus in either one i can still use the other until i fix the issue in the other OS.

Any of you have a similar configuration? I was either thinking of doing that or having Linux/windows7 both.

Answer:Is putting 2 windows OS in 1 pc/laptop a bad idea?

No, its not a bad idea, although I would look into Windows 7 Pro and XP mode.

Just don't mix OSes on the same partition.

This is a separate issue from the thread I created recently. I bought my current laptop back near the end of August. Since the first day itself it has been very slow at times. Performing as if it were already 2 years old. Especially when using applications like Firefox or Adobe Reader XI. Typing especially seems to lag behind, moreso immedietly after I start the application. Other things that lag include page loading and scroll lag.

At first I thought maybe it was just a lot of crapware. But I've uninstalled all of it, including the metro apps I don't need. I've always ran Disk Defrag, Disk Cleanup, CCleaner. Removed unnessesary programs from startup/Add remove programs, ran SFC scans, installed all important Windows Updates, ran virus scans. But it still lags.

I have no idea why it does this and what to do to fix this.

The system specs are HP laptop with Windows 8.1, 8 GB RAM, Intel Pentium CPU N3530 2.16 GHz

Any help would be much appreciated, I will try my best to add more information if needed. Thanks.

Answer:Laptop Very Slow Since Bought, have no Idea Why...

This probably isnt' the "best" solution but do you feel like doing a "clean" install and starting over? Also have a SSD Hard drive..

anytime my computer feels slow or crappy.. i totally wipe it (all my stuff is on external harddrives anyway, i just have to transfer my bookmarks in firefox etc.. )

I had a Lenovo totally pre-installed with all kinds of crap.. and I just downloaded the windows 8 core dvd and installed it through USB..

I also am about to totally wipe it again in a few days as I just downloaded the new build of windows 8.1 core with updates (November version)

i know this solution sucks to keep reinstalling windows but in my experience, thats all i've ever seen really get rid of anything that could be causing issues.. (old drivers, junk. etc..)

then after you do a totally clean fresh install just do a system image through windows itself or Acronis, other image programs..

I've encountered several problems with my laptop and I think that I need to do a clean reinstallation of Windows XP, but I'm having a problem backing up all of my files. Everytime I try to burn a cd-rw to back up some files it starts off fine and then when it says that there is 22 minutes remaining it jumps to 2 minutes and the cd ejects and a screen pops up telling me that there was an error and the cd can't be written and that the cd may be unusable. I have 3 questions and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could please help me so that I can re-install Windows and get my laptop back to normal.
1. Is there a way to format the HD and re-install Windows XP without losing all of my files?

2. Could I connect my laptop to my desktop computer?

3. If I can connect my laptop to the desktop computer can I transfer my files that way?

I've ran Ad-aware and SpyBot and got rid of everything that was listed as a threat and I ran AVG virus scan and got rid of all the viruses listed, but I am still having problems and I think that doing a clean installation of Windows is the only solution.

Please Help Me
Thanks

I've had to fix the mother in laws windows 7 laptop which was in a right state. I've installed the 10 technical preview and it runs sweet, found all drivers, easy peasy. No waiting forever to download updates.......boots faster etc.
When it comes to windows 10 RTM/release for free upgraders does anyone know if the official new version will allow an over install onto the existing Technical Preview setup, keeping existing installed programs and settings?
Its set to the slow ring for updated builds - I presume when the updated builds come out they are optional? Wouldn't be good if they auto install as she wont know whats happening. I'm assuming what is essentially a test OS is still a viable replacement OS even though is not obviously designed for 65 year computerphobes like her. Any comments appreciated.

Answer:10 on an oldies laptop. Good idea?

W10 TP is a beta/test OS. It is not meant to be a production system for normal use. Many people use it this way and mostly have been 0kay but the next build release could break something significant, you never know.

I do remember reading somewhere that RTM will install over TP but I'm not sure of that.

I think you would have been better to do a recovery to factory state of Win 7 on that laptop and wait for the free RTM upgrade when it's available.

Answer:Computer dust cleaner for cleaning dust out of mouse good idea?

The only way that you can die from that stuff is if you intentionally inhale it. People inhale duster to get high. Some unfortunate people have died from it because it can freeze your lungs. Your mouse should be fine. Also, if you're using a PS/2 mouse, turn the computer off before you plug it back in.

Dropbox + Sugarsync - running both at the same time - good idea or bad idea?
Will they both be thrashing my machine and eating up lots of CPU like a hungry monster?

Thanks
OM

Answer:Running Sugarsync + Dropbox at the same time - good idea or bad idea?

You can be specific about what each actually synchronizes so I don't see that as a CPU issue. However if using both over the Internet with one of the more substantial data plans to sync, I would wonder which gets priority or how well they share the upload bandwidth. Wouldn't be so good if one was always grabbing it to sync in the off-load times and the other just kept waiting and waiting for its turn.

Answer:Using the power adapter from idea u460 to idea u310 touch

hi abeltran,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Just to verify, do you have these AC adapter specs:

IdeaPad U310 Touch AC Adapter
Ideapad U460 AC Adapter

If both adapter have DC19V, 3.42A then you should be okay.

More info in this article.

Hello,

I've been quite confused lately...Ever since I bought a new laptop, people kept telling me to take off the laptop battery once in a while and let it run solely on the charger/cable. They say that this could reduce the chances of overheating and could maintain a longer battery life. However, there have been others who say that it's actually bad to do so

Is it best to keep the laptop running with battery or not?

Answer:Is taking off the laptop battery a good idea?

The only guide lines I know of is to charge the battery up to 100% and then let it run out before charging it again so as to let the cells expand.

Can't see a problem not using the battery either though, its just a different power supply entry.
