Uninstall Intel SDK for OpenCL - CPU Only Runtime Package

Question: Uninstall Intel SDK for OpenCL - CPU Only Runtime Package

I just spotted the program Intel SDK for OpenCL - CPU Only Runtime Package was installed on my desktop PC in December on the same date as the program Intel Management Engine Components. I have no idea what Intel SDK for OpenCL does. Can I safely uninstall it? See below all Intel programs currently installed.

Preferred Solution: Uninstall Intel SDK for OpenCL - CPU Only Runtime Package

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We have been supplied with a product which has not included the distributable runtimes for crystal (v10).
As a result, users are required to install the full developer version of crystal to view the reports from within this product.

We DO have a site license for crystal, so are able to use but do not wish to suffer the installation on many many machines (its slow and painful!). Plus i don't particularly want them to have a copy of crystal installed and accessible on their system.

So, i'm wondering if anyone knows a slim package i can use to ensure each of these client machines can view these embedded reports without having a full developer version of crystal placed on their machine. essentially just the required runtimes.

windows client app.

many thanks.

I have a pretty strange problem in Windows Store app for my Surface 3, everyday I would go to Download and Updates to check if there's any update for my app, but there's always "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Runtime Package" showing up in the update list, and re-install itself. Is there any way to get ride of it? It's quite annoying, why does it keep re-installing the same component over and over again?

The newest version of the Value Added Package asks you to uninstall the old one. But when attempting to uninstall it gives "error reading setup init. file".
Is there any way to force uninstall?

Answer:Unable to uninstall Value Added Package

Hi there,

unfortunately there is no way to force uninstall. But when thinking logically you could try the following:

Try to open and to exctract the VAP and copy the *.ini files into the VAP folder on your harddisk. If this does not work then the only chance would be to recover your machine and install the newest VAP. This should work then...

As far as I can tell by looking in each folder of g5dn13ww.exe, there are no intel integrated (HD4000) drivers at all in the install package.   If installed, this causes problems in Optimus mode with the Nvidia manager and if OS graphics detection is turned on in the bios, it will  not switch Optimus on, since what remains on the laptop is an older version of the intel graphics.      I had to install the latest from Intel directly, but am wary of breaking Optimus, though the Optimus switching dll's are only in the Nvidia installation files (those are there in g5dn13ww.exe).

Hope this is in the right forum ... too much choice! I've chosen this forum because Net Nanny is a significant part of the prob - I think.

I'll give as much history as may be relevant. Was using Media Player 9. Can't remember if I was getting a problem then, but upgraded to Media Player 10. Didn't realise that I should have backed up my licences and so now unable to play stuff I've purchased and get "unable to find licence" error. Read in a forum that I could try restoring to a previous restore point. Did this. Didn't help so reverted back to original restore point. I had a trial version of NetNanny which I had uninstalled. Changing the restore point seemed to half reinstall netnanny. Now I get a Net Nanny error message ("Net Nanny config file does not exist") at bootup. Then after a few minutes a window pops up asking for me to enter an activation code. If I click cancel, I then get a Microsoft runtime error which closes Internet Explorer. Internet explorer can then not be opened without rebooting. So tried to uninstall net nanny but it won't do it - get error message "an installation support file could not be found". Tried to reinstall netnanny but get message - a previous version is on your computer.

The netnanny activation window has popped up several times as I've typed this and I realise that if I just ignore it, it minimizes and doesn't stop IE. That helps for the moment, but want to get rid o... Read more

I've not had a problem with system Update 4 until today.  I went out to check for any updates and there was only one (Optional) listed so I went ahead and tried to install it. It is Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver for Windows 64bit.  The installed version is 9.5.7.1002 and the version trying to be installed is 9.6.0.1014.  The progress bar indicated it downloaded and tried to install, but ended with the error, "1 Package did not install."  Not a lot of help in that statement!?! Has anyone had a problem like this before?  Any idea how to "fix" it so I can install this update? I even tried once with MS Security Essentials, Windows Firewall and UAC turned off with no difference. System details are in my sig, below. Thanks for any help,

Answer:T410 System Update 4 - Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver "Package did not install" Error

The installer in the package is missing or is bad. If you really want to install it then you'll have to download it manually from Lenovo site, expand it, then install the driver via Control Panel -> Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller -> Intel blahblah -> update driver. Nap.

I was trying to do a clean uninstall of ZoneAlarm, as I'd been having issues with it. In cleaning the registry, I've either done something wrong or there's a bigger problem than ZoneAlarm's issues - There are no remove buttons for any app under "Add or Remove Programs". I googled a fix and discovered a bigger problem that google hasn't provided a fix for: Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion there should be an Uninstall folder. There is not.

I did some additional Windows updates (including, finally, installing IE7), and got ZA reinstalled finally, but there's still no uninstall in Add or Remove, and no Uninstall folder.

How do I recover this?

Any help appreciated!

Hi, I was running GTA San Andreas with the San Andreas Multiplayer mod on it. I began modding the gta3.img with a program called spark but I forgot to exit the Spark application before loading up GTA San andreas multiplayer. For this reason an error message was given when trying to load up GTA San andreas multiplayer. This had happened before and I used to just uninstall gta san andreas and then re-install it again and it would work again. However this time control panel -> add or remove programs thing wouldn't allow me to remove gta san andreas and i get this message

Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\10\50\Intel32\Ctor.dll

The specified module could not be found.

Please help me. I've tried deleting all the gta sa files manually using right click -> delete but the program is still present in the "Installed appliations" list in "Add or Remove programs"

I need to uninstall it so i can play again.

Please help me

Answer:Can't uninstall a program Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\10...

Use AUTORUNSA "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.Credit to quietman7

Hi, I'm trying to add the November, 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3197868) to out install.wim using DISM offline because the same install is failing using the Scheduled Updates process in Config Manager.
Some pertinent (I think) lines from the DISM.log include:
DISM Package Manager: PID=2868 Failed while processing command add-package. - CPackageManagerCLIHandler::ExecuteCmdLine(hr:0x8000ffff)
DISM.EXE: DISM Package Manager processed the command line but failed. HRESULT=8000FFFF

Question: OpenCL

I have both an Intel HD 4600 GPU (Core i7 4790k CPU), and Radeon R9 285 card in my desktop. Anyways, since the HD is pretty much unused I decided to enable it in UEFI settings for the purpose of running OpenCL stuff on it.

Anyways I'm looking for software that can take advantage of OpenCL.

Answer:OpenCL

It hasn't really taken off kind of like WiDi. Good luck finding anything worthwhile that uses it.

Question: Missing OpenCL.dll

So, I upgraded to Windows 10 a day back using the media creation tool, and the install went fine. After I restarted the PC for the first time, I got an error saying that OpenCL.dll is missing. hey guys long time lurker here, usually i find solutions on my problem but this time around, i have no idea what to do!

Short story: ran sfc /scannow and got the message "found corrupt files but cannot repair," specifically regarding Opencl.dll. Can i fix this w/o doing a reset?

Long Story (in outline form):
- got a new SSD
-with my old HDD still in place(with w7) installed w10 thru usb in the SSD
-It worked, and thru the desktop i transferred files from my old HDD to the SSD
-tried to format the HDD thru my computer, did not work, got some error
-proceeded to format the hdd through w10 installation usb - worked
-changed the boot order so SSD load first
-got an error saying no OS is found
-plugged in w10 usb and did "repair my computer" - worked
-able to access desktop, play games, etc.
-decided to run sfc /scannow to be sure, and got that error
-did a disk cleanup and then ran sfc again, still the same

also i have attached the log that i got from the sfc

Perhaps not, even if you were to do a clean install at this point - see here: SFC some corrupt files can not be fixed

Normally, folks would advise that the next step is using DISM to repair this problem but, if you check the thread I linked above, you may decide you don't want to reinvent the wheel.

After upgrading to Windows 7, Intel Proset will not allow me to start the uninstaller due to its incompatibility with that version of Windows. I need to uninstall it in order to upgrade to a newer release. How can I manually reach the uninstaller so that I can run it in compatibility mode? Anyone know where it should be located?

Answer:Uninstall Intel Proset

Right click on the Intel Proset icon in the Start Menu and select "Properties". That'll tell you where the program resides, then a bit of digging should reveal if there is an uninstall program.

Have you tried running the free Revo uninstaller in compatibility mode? I haven't used it myself, but many people have recommended it.

After past days, this week i've discovered another problem with windows...

Everyoen know that Windows 10 x64 and latest geforce forceware drivers are giving problems... in fact 355.60 WHQL release was bugged as hell and give a lot of problems, like VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL BSOD.

Today nvidia realeased a beta drivers to fix that issue...

355.78 (It provides a bug fix for an intermittent issue found in the publicly released 355.60 Game Ready driver as well as solving an issue with incorrect display timings. )

Hi guys.

I am hoping you can help me as i don't wish to do a full reinstall. Spoke to Microsoft who couldn't help. I have looked through the excellent tutorial posted on here with regards to SFC issues but i'm unsure if i am doing something incorrect as, the ISO i got from Microsoft website, has an install file with a .wmd extension.

I am on the following build:

When i run SFC i get corrupted files could not be repaired message:

I have saved the log of the above scan which i have attached. Please forgive me for the possibly dumb question but do i know download the 1511 iso? DISM is saying source files not found.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the Tutorial steps don't seem to fix the problem unless its me which most likely is!

Apologies and thank you

I want to do some opencl development on my Alienware 15 r2  nvidia gtx956m gpu).  Nvidia provides developer drivers sdk's (3.6.4.72-notebook ) but provides a warning that not all OEMs support these. Does Alienware support the nvidia drivers? If not, what is the recommended way to install cuda/opencl + developer drivers so I can do opencl development in visual studio?

Hello! I work and study in CAE/mathematical modeling field. Now I'm trying to use OpenCL on my laptop. According to all the utilities I've tried I have no OpenCL support, although I know that it should have, at least early versions. E.g. FurMark didn't even recognize my dicrete card. It simply stated that I only have the Intel HD Graphics.GPU Shark says the same.GPU-Z tells me that I have both, but no OpenCL support on either of the devices. At first I could't even start a simple example in OpenCL, because the "Getting started guides usually suggest to look for a cl.h header in your $(AMDAPPSDKROOT) folder". I have that environment variable set to an existing folder, but it contains no libs, headers or anything close to it.I've installed Intel SDK for OpenCL to check the available devices through OpenCL API. It says I can use only CPU. Hardware: AMD Ati Radeon HD 7670m; Intel HD Graphics 4000; Intel Core i5 CPU;BIOS info: InsydeH20 Setup Utility Rev. 3.7; f.12;The device manager recognizes both devices correctly (from the first glance). According to it both devices' drivers are 8.982.10.6000 from AMD.I have been studying this problem for a couple of days already and found only two direct statements that it IS possible to use OpenCL on my Radeon card:https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html (Call me Mr. BrightSide, but I assume they should have tested it)andhttps://community.amd.com/thread/162244The reasons ... I have Intel Create and Share Software for Intel DeLuxe PC Camera on my PC. My son installed it several months ago and it wasn't working so I decided to remove it. When I try the uninstall feature and add & remove programs, I get this popup. "Error in extracting support files. catastrophic failure." I tried to see if I could reinstall with the CD, but also get this error popup.I went to Intel site and they no longer offer support for this camera. How can I remove the numerous files associated with all of its software? I may add I had this on my PC previously and it worked with no problems. I just didn't use it so I uninstalled it. Any help will be apprciated.

Hi there,

Just got a new nVidia GTX460. I've tried to installed it several times without any success. Here's the thing that puzzles me. Every time I unintsall the current video (intrel g33/31chipset )card Win 7 requires a restart, and after the computer reboots it installes the chipset again. Once the old card installs again on its own the new card cannot be insdtalled because it is in conflict.

I'm not really sure why you care. What's wrong with having the driver installed? Is it causing a problem?

OpenCL: Parallel programmers' new best friend.

If you are interested at all in multi-core programming, this tool (Open Computing Language) could become the standard for years to come in "what may be the best solution so far to the general problem of parallel programming." It does both task-level and data-level parallelism (aka SIMD) and some parallel-programming languages can't do the latter.

Answer:OpenCL: Parallel programmers' new best friend

Some of the parallel processing examples are best described as *way cool* (I don't drag out such language for the average stuff ).

Don't know what Nvidea's plan is with both CUDA and OpenCL support. As both do broadly the same thing why are they pushing their solution so hard? Anyone know any good tutorials for OpenCL (or CUDA for that matter, but there's more out there).

It'd be a shame to write two programs for two different machines.

A programming language: https://www.khronos.org/opencl/

OpenCL defines an application programming interface (API) that allows programs running on the host to launch kernels on the compute devices and manage device memory, which is (at least conceptually) separate from host memory. Programs in the OpenCL language are intended to be compiled at run-time, so that OpenCL-using applications are portable between implementations for various host devices.[12

I know, most of you are probably tired of reading about the issue with CCC 10.8. But, I'm not here to talk about that so bare with me.   Since I never really have a legitimate use for the switchable graphics feature on my laptop, mostly because I am gaming and watching HD videos, there really is no need for me to use Intel HD graphics. So I was wondering, if I was to uninstall the onboard graphics using Safe Mode, then try updating my Radeon HD 5730 from the AMD website, would it cause any system instability? I am aware that this is a considerably new system so every trick on the book hasn't been tried yet. But before I try this, I've already created a system restore point to this very moment so if anything goes horribly wrong (e.g. BSOD) I can revert it. All I need is the unbiased advice of a somewhat  'experienced' person to give me a green and/or yellow light for this little experiment.     System specs are; 15.6" IdeaPad Y560Intel Core i5-450mATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 with Intel HD Integrated Graphics4GB of DDR3 RAMWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Answer:Can you uninstall the Intel HD Graphics drivers from Y560?

I don't know the answer, but I do know I would not trust a restore pointto get it all back if there is a problem. Got a external hard drive? Make a system image and recovery diskin Win 7, Backup and Restore. Works great for fooling around! Just my opinion.

Try running the Windows upgrade advisor in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or earlier, also click Run as Admin, and further right click the Windows Upgrade 8 upgrade advisor to run as Admin was the only way I could get it to work right.

Nvidia Mulls Over Porting PhysX to OpenCL - X-bit labs

"Nvidia May Allow GPU PhysX to Work on ATI Hardware

Nvidia Corp. said that it could eventually port computing of physics effects created using PhysX middleware to OpenCL application programming interface (API) and capable hardware. This may actually enable acceleration of physics effects processing on graphics chips to work on ATI Radeon hardware.

At present PhysX middle-ware is used to make physics effects on various platforms, including video game consoles and personal computers. In virtually all the cases processing of physics effects is performed on the central processing units ? x86 chips in case of PC, Cell in case of PlayStation 3 or PowerPC in case of Xbox 360 ? however, there are handful of games that can take advantage of physics computing on Nvidia GeForce graphics processing units (GPUs) that support CUDA technology. The latter is virtually Nvidia?s proprietary API and is naturally not supported by chips developed by ATI, graphics business unit of Advanced Micro Devices. Due to such limitations not a lot of game developers are implementing GPU PhysX and enabling acceleration using DirectCompute or OpenCL is one of the best ways to popularize processing of physics effects on graphics processors.

?In the future it is a possibility that we could use OpenCL, but at the moment CUDA works great. [Our GPU] architecture allows for acceleration by other things like OpenCL. Nvidia works very closely wit... Read more

Just want to double check. I got a Dell Latitude E5450 laptop a few days ago, and of course there's some stuff pre-installed. One of which is this "Intel Management and Security" or whatever:

(I'm hovering over the icon in the middle, middle row)

It annoys me when there's random software running (especially automatically whenever I boot) just in case I might need it.
I skimmed over the wiki page as well as this page regarding the Intel Active Management Technology. It sounds fancy and all, but as far as I can tell, the only actually useful thing out of all of that mumbo-jumbo is that it can update my Intel drivers when a new one comes out. However, isn't it true that I can just as well accomplish that with the Intel Driver Update Utility, which I can choose to launch, instead of having it run automatically all the time?

In short, this Intel Management thing is useless, right?

Answer:Safe to delete/uninstall this Intel Management crap?

If you remove it you will have a device without a driver. It won't really affect the OS much. You can stop the app from starting up however.

Short verison: I can't uninstall or update my Intel PROset/Wireless software from v 17.16.1. Looking for ideas. Details: The Lenovo update utility informed me of a critical update to my Intel PROset software. I had v 17.16.1 installed and it wanted to install 18.something.  I let it run the update. The process stopped and sat inactive (no CPU / no disk activity) for ages. Upon reboot an Intel PROset app came up and reported that the installation was blocked because a newer version is installed. (Image below)  Control Panel reported TWO instances of Intel PROset/Wireless software installed: my original 17.16.1 and the 18.x new one. Trying to uninstall either one gave error that it could not be uninstalled. Used a  restore point to get rid of the 18.x.  However, now trying to uninstall the "IntelPROset Wireless Software" v17.16.1 brings up the Intel uninstall app, and it just sits there with no progress. The gears turn and nothing happens. Questions:Have I run into versioning issues between Intel and Lenovo released versions of the software? (I don't even recall the history of what I have installed and where it came from.)Are there any tricks to getting it to uninstall? Was using the Lenovo System Update my big mistake?Who should I trust for my Intel wireless drivers: Lenovo or Intel or Windows Update?Between all the Intel and Lenovo junk installed it is bewildering to know what to ditch, what to ignore, and what to rely on! Thanks in advance!&... Greetings,

I'm working on a desktop where any AMD video card will not respond after the standard 20 minute timeout to cut video; the whole machine freezes. It doesn't happen with nVidia cards (at least with a 550ti), so from what I could tell, making sure that all Catalyst-related files were removed from the machine was a good call.

I ran the AMD Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility, and found that it nuked Intel's USB drivers from the machine. It's an AsRock Z87 Pro3. I hooked up a serial mouse, and, using the on-screen keyboard, I downloaded/installed the chipset drivers from AsRock's web site (no joy), then the latest version from Intel, also with no change.

At this point, I'm running sfc /scannow, and if it would help, I will upload the logs.

This machine's specs:
AsRock Z87 Pro3
Intel i5-4670K
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD7950 3GB (Also tried with Radeon HD7870)
Win7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit

Question 1: Is this most easily fixed with a repair install?
Question 2: Will a sysprep (generalized) fix it?

I have a genuine product key, so either of the above are possibilities at least from an activation perspective.

EDIT/UPDATE: sfc /scannow found no integrity violations.

Answer:Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility nuked Intel USB drivers

My own approach to uninstalling AMD drivers in order to install a newer version is to use Driver Fusion (formerly named Driver Sweeper).

There is a free version, but at its low price I use the "premium" version. It understands drivers.

Never had a problem with it uninstalling anything other than the exact AMD driver package (including Registry entries, etc.) I was trying to remove.
As far as finding drivers for the Intel USB components you saw got unintentionally removed with the AMD clean uninstall you ran, is the problem now that you can't get proper new versions of the deleted drivers reinstalled?

Do you have a "system restore points" you can restore from before you did the AMD uninstall? This should restore the working system at that point.

Do you have any complete "system image" backups you can recover from?

If you're just looking for help finding the Intel USB drivers for the machine, can you post a screenshot of Device Manager -> Properties for the "other devices" needing drivers, Details tab, and post the Hardware ID (second item in the Property dropdown list).

My 2+ year old ASUS laptop G771JM originally came w NVidia Graphics but when MSoft installed Win10
and subsequent upgrades to 1703 and 1709, the Intel HD Graphics have been installed. They work fine, at least to my eyes; this is a gaming computer but I don't do computer games at all. NVidia asks multi-times

in Control Panel/Programs and is there a preferred sequence? Appreciate any input on this issue.

In short, I can't uninstall Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology to upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7 (64 bit). So I probably am the source of much of my problems, but the jist of my current problem is windows uninstaller says that I cannot remove Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology because my Intel Wireless Adapter is not found. I do not have an Intel Wireless Adapter. I have looked through my device manager, and unless I accidentley got rid of something somehow, which is entirely possible, all I have under Network adapters is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. If I choose to show hidden devicess then a bunch of Microsoft ISATAPs come up and WAN Miniports as well as a Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface and RAS Async Network Adapter.

I tried using CCleaner to uninstall it and it seemed to work, but the Intel Bluetooth Technology was still picked up on as blocking my Windows 8 upgrade.

I really want to start running windows 8 so any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Can't Uninstall Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software or Bluetooth(R) Tech

Hello Sava, go to following link and run the microsoft fixit program on that site and tell it to try and uninstall the intel software. I had exactly the same problem and it managed to uninstall the software (it took several minutes to do it!). I have not yet re-attempted to install Windows 8 yet because it took so long to solve all the issues with incompatible software, however I am optimistic! How to troubleshoot problems when you install or uninstall programs on a Windows-based computer Hope it works for you. martin armstrong, PS I now have Windows 8 installed!

I made inf file for g210m on toshiba u500 for 195.81 beta driver.
Just download driver and add it to unpacked directory where are other infs and install.

Now you can use OpenCL, CUDA, DirectCompute, Physx (enable it in CP) and nVidia GPU Acceleration for Adobe Flash Player (install new 10.1 beta 2 flash player by adobe)

This inf is optimized for DEV_0A74&SUBSYS_FF401179 g210m.
If you want me to add more devices please post what devices you want and i will but you will have to test it.

Hope this helps.

Answer:Satellite U500 - INF file with OpenCL, CUDA for Nvidia driver

Thanks for that but usually it?s advisable to use the Toshiba graphic card driver due to the GPU overheating protection.
Other drivers don?t support such protection and the usage of such drivers can cause an higher temperature which could affect the GPU chip?.

Hi all I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 8 but the assistant will not let me proceed because it is tell me to "manually uninstall" the "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver". When I first ran the installer it listed two "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver". One had the uninstall button which I ran just fine but after a restart the upgrade installer still complained about the one that needed manually uninstalling. I've made sure all the Intel USB devices were uninstalled in device manager. I've reinstalled the drivers then uninstalled again. I've even been through the registry which did have references to iusb* files in system32/drivers. The files referenced did not exist so I removed those registry keys but the upgrage installer still complains that I have to manually uninstall the Intel USB 3. I even disabled the USB3 mode in the bios but this had no affect. Does anyone know what I need to do to stop the Windows 8 upgrade process complaining about this driver? Thanks

FYI I gave up in the end and just did a clean install of Windows 8.

I have Win 10 Pro 64 bit on a Dell Vostro 3460 with Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM and Crucial 1TB SSD. All Dell diagnostics pass, Windows fully updated.
About 2 weeks ago (April 2016), the Windows Update for Version 1511 finally arrived and it is now at Build 10586.218
A few days (2 or 3) before that, IE 11 and Edge started to misbehave. It's possible that some final pre-upgrade-to-1511 upgrade did this - it is equally possible just a co-incidence.
The symptoms are that IE11 will open up but the address bar does not get populated and after a few seconds, it just disappears again. Edge does similar. When this happens, I sometimes try Firefox but that takes a long time to start - at least it starts. Chrome usually starts within a short time. There is no sure way to get IE and Edge back again. Rebooting sometimes does it. Usuallly, I have to use Turn Windows Features on and off to turn IE 11 off then on again (which given a restart is needed both times is timeconsuming).

Greetings,
Due to an error with Windows Update ["WindowsUpdate_8024001F" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" which 'magically' fixed itself after a number of rebooting because of the the runtime error mentioning here] I performed a clean boot following the steps
mentioned here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
Normally, upon restarting, I am brought to the login screen with my user icon, and after entering my password I am able to log on.
Upon restarting after configuring msconfig.exe for a clean boot, I am stopped at the login screen. My user icon and the password field does not load, and after about 30~50 seconds, the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error window pops
up. If I press OK, the error window disappears but the user icon and password field does not appear. Wait another 30~50 seconds, the  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error window appears again. This seem to repeat endlessly.
EDIT: I have never had runtime error before, and the error isn't popping up again, unless i configure for clean boot.

I was able to log back in by reverting the changes in msconfig.exe during Safe Mode, and so that is not my question.

I want to ask, what are some possible reasons for this error window?

There is very little to clean up in your log, but we will get to that.

The first thing I'd like you to try is disabling the Google Toolbar.
That might stop the error for you.

Hi I could really do with some help here which I just don't seem to be able to get from 1&1. I have been sold 2 separate packages from them. Package A is two domain names; package B is their home package. I simply want to see the 2 domain names of package A when I am working with package B as I want to use one of those domain names as my URL. Same company, same geographical storage location. How difficult can that be?

Answer:1&1 Home package and URL from another package

you have purchased two 'packages'. If you bought two domain names, and have one of them hosted, you can point the second domain name to it.Maybe I have the wrong end of the stick - in which case perhaps you can supply more information?

Looking for advice on whether I should assume problem is caused by malware - if so I'll go through the steps as posted in the spyware sticky. If not, then I'll go through the steps posted by 'kadavill' on the 'software board' (to go through add-ons and disable)

Answer:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error for IExplorer

If you think the problem could be malware related, follow the steps below and we will find out.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Hello Tech Guys! I came this site because I was so skillfully helped about four years ago dealing with another windows issue. The site looks great.

I am not computer illiterate, but advanced I am not either. I installed Microsoft Office 2007and Microsoft Desktop Search yesterday. I didn't like Desktop Search and uninstalled it. I also changed some start up configurations with msconfig. This morning when restarting my computer an error message came up:

___________________________________________________________________

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error
Program c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe

R6025

Pure Virtual Function Call

___________________________________________________________________
I have ran norton and it works fine. Once I click OK on the error and the Norton box on the toolbar disappears. Then I click on the icon and it comes back up. I don't know if this is a problem or not.

I have run a full scan, windoc, and a couple other programs to rid the registry files. I ran RegCure and ParetoLogic. Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill, but it does run a little slower at start up and always gives that error message.

Also when I look at Windows Task Manager, the svchost.exe (system) sometimes is running at 58,000K to 27,000K. Is that right?

Let me know what you think and what I should do. I want to thank you in advance for just being such a great tool in our internet world. Taylor

Program: C:\Program Files\Interent Explorer\iexplore.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. I do not know what this is or what is causing it. But right before this message appears, I get a message asking about a proxy? I have no Idea what a proxy is. So I click no for the proxy. and that is when the error message occurs. As far as I know of I do not need a proxy to download any programs. Could this be causing the error message?

Also, this is a perfect opportunity to get yourself a real browser. Download Opera of Firefox on a CD or a flash disk and install on your computer to get a functional browser.

Answer:Need fix for Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error

Hi,

Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:

1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
2.Software problem.

If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en

If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding.

For your convenience:

3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".

Hello dottie5917

I apologise about the wait

Ok now i have seen this issue a couple of times,

1. Update your drivers
2. Uninstall Eset Smart Security Suite
3. Reboot and then download and run Auto Runs

4. Select the Boot Execute tab and check that there is no phantom start-up process
5. If there is a phantom program or something that relates to the error message then end the process.
6. reboot and if the error is gone reinstall Eset Smart Security Suite

Program: C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvcplui.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.

I've tried CCleaner, as I read somewhere that would fix it, but it hasn't changed anything.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

While downloading a new update from Webroot Spyware I received the above runtime error. I am a subscriber to Webroot, but since it's Saturday I can't contact them until Monday, therefore my virus protection is jeapordized.
My system is a Windows XP & I'm using Internet Explorer 7 & also Windows 7.
I've uninstalled & tried to re-install Webroot but before it finished I get the Runtime error. Does anyone know how to stop this error from freezing up my software? thanks.

I have Windows XP SP3 on my notebook.
Two similar threads have been solved before. However, my case is much more weird because the message appears right after I start my computer and also before a user logs in.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application support team for more information.

The problem is that there is no specific application target.

I reinstalled the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries, but still to no avail.
The message appears now and then, evev after I close the first appearance. I couldn't discern any pattern.

Every time I want to download or see a pdf file on the net, this error window appears.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program:C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information

If I click ENTER for a few times, it will show an ieframe.dll error.

I'm using windows 7 and IE 9. The "Tool" function on the top left hand corner is somehow disabled.
Methods I've tried: 1. Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (no use)
2. Clean boot using MSCONFIG (no use) (since I must surf the net to download or see the pdf file. But the problem is on the Internet Explorer.)
3. Uninstall IE 9 and reinstall it (no use)

Could someone please help me ? Thank you very much.

Hi, I've searched endlessly on the forums here, microsoft support, and any other technical support forum Google could direct me to and still have not found a solution. I'm not much of a computer guru, but hopefully i can explain my problem enough for you to help me. If i need to show any logs then please tell me how to and i'd be more than happy to help you help me.
On to my problem.

While playing 1701 A.D. (it happens most often with this game, but with other games also) after anywhere from half hour to an hour my game locks up (i can still use the mouse and easily ctrl-alt-kill the program) and this message is displayed:
I have vista on an Hp laptop DV9000 series laptop, my computer is more than strong enough to handle this game. There is also no chance it's over heating. Ive tried right clicking on the exe file and changing compatibility, it didn't make a difference. i downloaded new drivers but that might not have worked properly, i have to install them from hp and it never installs right. The problem existed before i tried to download a new driver and still exist. I also scanned my computer with Trend micro Anti Virus and spyware and have found no possible causes. If there is anything you need me to do please let me know. I appreciate your help.
