Preferred Solution: Difference between Kaspersky Free and Kaspersky Antivirus

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Difference between Kaspersky Free and Kaspersky Antivirus

the only difference between KAV and KAF is that KAV has system watcher = behavior blocker. system watcher is one of the most powerful weapons of kaspersky that's why they charge you for that
they both have phishing protection

your combo looks OK to me. I can recommend that
but I don't agree with Malwarebytes because it seems redundant to me. zemana as the second opinion scanner is sufficient enough. It's realtime protection is different from its on-demand scanner. You will get better result with on-demand scanning than the realtime protection

If money is not a problem, which would you go for?

Is teh internet security good ? I read a review on PC Magazine that it detects alot of stuff which is innocent, kinda annoying....that's the only bad thing they said in the review...

what do j00 suggest teh meh?

Answer:Kaspersky Internet Security vs. Kaspersky AntiVirus

Considering you don't respect us (the forum posters) with your AOL style of posting. I don't know why I am answering your question.

Knowing Kaspersky Anti-Virus history of false positives. I would stay away from the Internet Security and find another solution such as Outpost firewall.

Answer:Kaspersky Free Antivirus - Pro's & Con's

Hello,

I'm really like kaspersky products, but sometimes get me angry
So what you ask:

Pro:
- Light on system (yes in fact it is)
- Good signatures
- Really good Cloud
- Good virus removal ability
- Good web protect

Cons:
- No behavior block (but has heuristic)
- Ads sometimes
- Good alternative for Windows Defender but not paid or other free AV.
- Protection is good enough just for advanced users only i think.

Hello, can anyone tell me how to use kaspersky anti ransomware tool and kaspersky free antivirus together?
I have tried many ways and while both of the products are playing well with each other detecting threats, the internet connectivity has been lost.
Not even a single webpage can be loaded until kart gets removed.
Hope you'll understand and come up with an efficient solution.

After it was only available in Russian, Kaspersky released their free antivirus globally.

It is the same antivirus engine as their paid product, and supposed to be light on resources.

You can get it from Kaspersky site kaspersky.com | free-antivirus

I am using windows 10 on my HP desktop. I currently use MES but am unable to access certain games, puzzles on GameScene (ie) . I thought perhaps changing my antivirus would remedy this situation. is Kaspersky antivirus totally free for download on home computer?

Answer:Is Kaspersky antivirus totally free for my home computer?

Err.. MES, presumably you mean MSE but known as "Windows Defender" on Windows 10. If that is preventing access to games and puzzles then most likely there is something wrong with them. MS Windows Defender is usually quite docile. You didn't ought to be looking for an anti-virus that lets them through if they are dubious. As for Kaspersky, as far as I am aware they don't do a totally free version, only a free trial. There are free AV's around, such as Bitdefender, but as I said that doesn't sound like the right way to go for your game problems. What exactly happens when you try to access them and is there some reason you suspect Windows Defender is implicated?Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Saw the news on Malwarebytes Forums (posted by sman), and decided that it was too good to not share.Kaspersky has been toying with a free version of its widely respected antivirus solution for a while now on the company's own Dev Builds server.Recently, the company released Kaspersky Free to the public. While not the first free product that Kaspersky has released, it is the first free full-blown antivirus solution the company has released. The main caveat at this time is that the product has only been released official in Russia and the Ukraine. While that is the case, downloads don't seem to be geo-restricted at this point in time. Please note though that the interface is mostly in Russian which is problematic if you don't speak the language considering that it is usually a good thing to understand what a security message means before reacting to it.Also, you may run into activation issues if you run the program in a region that is not Russia or Ukraine. If that is the case, features are limited until those issues are resolved (for instance by using a VPN).Source: http://www.ghacks.net/2016/01/14/kaspersky-free-antivirus-released/I expect big things from Kaspersky's free Antivirus to be honest. Can't wait for the English release. It's the second company now that releases a free version of their products (Sophos being the first).

As far as I know, the main difference is that KAV does not have Application Control, but Kaspersky Internet Security does.
Does this make a big difference in protection?
I am asking because I want to combo Kaspersky with an app that has a HIPS component, so I need to use KAV rather than KIS.

Answer:how good Internet Security Kaspersky AntiVirus, as compared to Kaspersky Internet Security?

Application control and Trusted Applications Mode are a great additional layer of protection. Which app do you want to add to Kaspersky? IMO KIS would be the best. TAM is really great.

If you cannot or are unable to uninstall Karpersky AntiVirus, Kasperky Internet security or any other Kaspersky security software, you can download and use Kaspersky Products Remover.
Kaspersky Products Remover will fully uninstall any Kaspersky software from your Windows computer. It will even delete all activation data from your system.
Once you have downloaded the tool from here, reboot your computer in Safe Mode and run the tool. Select the Kaspersky product you wish to ununstall. It will safely and completely remove the Kaspersky Lab security software from your Windows PC.
If you are using some other security software that you want to uninstall completely, have a look at this post on AntiVirus Removal Tools & Uninstallers for popular AntiVirus programs.

Source - Windows 7 Kaspersky Lab releases technical preview of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7 Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management systems, announces the release of a technical prototype of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the next release of the Microsoft Windows operating system which will replace Windows Vista and is a step forward in the development of Microsoft operating systems. The new OS will incorporate enhanced reliability, greater efficiency, an improved interface and extended working features both in global and local information networks.
The technical preview is a complex solution for securing computers running under Windows 7. The prototype includes not only an antivirus component but an effective and fully functional firewall and anti-spam filter.
At the heart of the new technical prototype is Kaspersky Lab?s new antivirus engine which is even more effective at detecting malicious programs than its predecessor. The new engine dramatically increases system scanning speed thanks to improved processing of objects and optimized use of system resources, particularly on dual- and quad-core processor platforms. The unique product architecture ensures high productivity and one of the lowest uses of system resources in the industry.

Kaspersky Lab Presents a New Version of Kaspersky Small Office Security to Reflect Modern Needs of Small Business
Kaspersky Lab announces its latest edition of the Kaspersky Small Office Security, the company?s security solution built specifically for businesses with fewer than 25 employees. This solution provides world-class protection and easy use without the need for specialist IT skills. New features make it easier to focus valuable resources on running and developing the business while keeping operations, customer?s and employee?s data secure.

Nowadays, small businesses are frequently becoming prey for cybercriminals because they generally pay less attention for cybersecurity while housing increasingly valuable data. According to recent survey results, the share of companies that allow usage of personal employee?s devices within the corporate network has grown to 62% in 2014. At the same time, although businesses realize that customer?s personal information (25%), payment requisites (13%) and trade secrets (12%) are among top priorities of their information security needs, they keep taking very basic protective measures, relying, for example, on free anti-malware products. Respondents indicated that they desire a powerful, but simple and easy-to-use security solution that would come at an affordable price.

Kaspersky Small Office Security is equipped with enterprise-grade technologies, but it was designed specifically to serve the needs of very small bu... Read more

Windows 10 64 Pro Anniversary Build Latest Update
Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 Latest Update
No other RealTime security software.

My portable programs SecurMyBit, VidCoder, etc... were under "Low Restricted" in Application Control.
I move them to "Trusted" in AC.
After couple of days, the programs rules are neither in "Trusted" or "Low Restricted".
When I run the programs, they appear under "Low Restricted" And I again move them to "Trusted" But after couple of days the same mentioned above i.e the programs rules are neither in "Trusted" or "Low Restricted".

Is it a bug or bug on Windows 10 64 or bug in KIS 2017 or ............?

Any info?

Any Kaspersky users experience the above?

Answer:Kaspersky Application Control - Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 bug?

Yes, this happens & not only in 2017 but in earlier versions as well.

I experience it as well, but not quite often as you are. Mine comes when i am disconnected from internet for a while & then connect again, then (i guess) KSN checks the app control rules again & places them (apps) as described in the KSN rule-set.

The problem come from the setting 'Load rule for applications from KSN' in application control, which is enabled by default.

This shouldn't be a problem if you are using default settings (Auto-mode) as Low restricted is basically Trusted in auto-mode. But if you use interactive mode, this causes a lot of prompts which can be quite annoying.

Hey guys, I just want to complain to all the Kaspersky makers. First of all, Kaspersky 2009 takes forever to scan, like Literally! Compared to other anti-viruses and Internet Security, I used to be a loyal Kaspersky user from 6.0 to 7.0, but now you see when I upgraded to 2009 when it came out, everything changed which is ridiculous. Like I said, Scanning takes like forever which could take a week or something just to get finished if I full scan. Hell, Quick-scan even lags the heck out of my computer and takes hours to finish(OMG).
Now I know it's not my computer's problem like most of you would say. I have a pretty decent high-end custom-built computer that's really still better than most Home users have and I'm using an Intel Quad Core Q6600, 4GB(2xgb of Dual Channel) Corsair RAM DDR2-800(PC2-6400). My Video card is really good too because it's a GeForce 8800GTX, which is still good still.

Anyways i just want to point out that i seriously don't know why Kaspersky 2009 all of a sudden slow. The MAIN PROBLEM is that I left my computer just last night and it's stuck at 22% because I decided you know what, I might as well stop my scanning because it's taking up SO MANY RESOURCES! I mean for Crying out loud! But you see, when I stopped the scanning it lags my whole computer so I had to restart my computer improperly and hit the reset button because Kaspersky got issues since it wouldn't stop the scan and would probably take hou... It will be enough if you don't push it to the limits. If you go there and here downloading non reputable software, if you use keygens or many unsafe applications you may get infected. If you have safe surfing habits, a properly configured web browser; and Windows Firewall enabled you should be good.

My Kaspersky AV ran out of subscription so I decided to try AVG 7.5 free.
The one thing I noticed when using AVG for scanning "My Computer" scanned maybe half the number of files?? If not less...compared to KAS!! Could not find an option on AVG to add additional stuff to scan.

I was and am still using COMODO BO Clean & SpywareBlaster and Windows Firewall All updated to latest versions. Please let me know if this is a decent setup.

I'd like to know if the Lappy would be MORE secure if I shift to the latest KAS Internet security Package as opposed to hanging on to AVG free. .

It has caught a few things (while I was online) and "healed" them before any damage was done; but nothing has gotten through as yet. Additionally, just to be on the safe side; once a month I also use an "online virus check" called BitDefender Online Scanner - Free Online Virus Scan

Please Note: AVG 7.5 Free is out of date. Use AVG AntiVirus Free Edition 8.0 instead.

>> I was and am still using COMODO BO Clean & SpywareBlaster and Windows Firewall All updated to latest versions. Please let me know if this is a decent setup. <<

Sounds Good - but I'd add a software firewall if you do not already have one. Windows Firewall alone is very limited IMO.

Good Luck!

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the launch of Kaspersky PURE, an integrated solution to protect home networks. The new product was unveiled at Europe's largest IT exhibition CeBIT 2010 and will be available in stores from 30 March, 2010.
Kaspersky PURE retains all the features that users of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security have come to know and appreciate, including state-of-the-art ?sandbox' technologies that allow suspect applications to be run in a secure virtual environment, proactive detection of unknown threats, application control and restrictions on the level of access that suspicious programs have to passwords, logins, personal information and operating system settings.
For those with children, Kaspersky PURE's Extended Parental Control helps to limit the time that minors spend on the computer, regulates access to specific programs and the Internet and blocks users attempting to access websites displaying adult content, whilst notifying you. The IM control feature can be set to block messages containing obscene language or predefined words such as your home address or telephone number. "Sorry but if you pronounce kaspersky to rhyme with whisky, the title isn't going to sound as jiggly as it should I used to pronounce it to rhyme with "sky" but apparently that's incorrect. Anyway, I've been a long time admirer of the Kaspersky AV engine. And today it has saved someone's a$$ one more time

A friend of mine, who is pretty technical, well he maintains windows drivers for a living, so that sure makes him a hot-shot techy in anyone's book. That friend's laptop caught a nasty virus."

Yes you guessed right it is just another plug for Linux and penguin power.

Seriously it is a very good tool if you catch a nasty, well worth a read.

Answer:Kaspersky's AntiVirus tool not the AV.

Thanks for the repeated reminders about Linux, AB.

I really WILL get round to doing something about it very soon.

I have 2014 which has two weeks to run. So they sent me an Update Reminder ~ Genuine as far as I can tell.
I clicked the Links > Paid the Fee > Downloaded 2015 > Installed it as instructed > rebooted the PC > Got new Shortcuts on my Desktop (which suggests installation successful) > This morning I got an eMail of Confirmation from K > However I am still getting Reminders that I have not updated.
What do I do?

Answer:Kaspersky Antivirus 2015

Check the installation number which will probably be under the help menu about or similar.
if OK then ignore the reminders.

I've always been a BIG fan of Revo Uninstaller Pro. Revo has always been very good in regard to removing software, at least for me. HOWEVER, this evening was an exception. I was trying to remove a Kaspersky Antivirus program with Revo and, somehow, the uninstall was premature and apparently not everything became uninstalled, as their K icon still appears in my bottom taskbar and shows the manifestation of "its ugly face" when I try to reboot in the form of a popup advertisement for Kaspersky (since I was only on a trial with them) and interfering with my trying to open a page. VERY, VERY FRUSTRATING to say the least!!

Further particulars:

- Kaspersky name does not appear - ANYWHERE - in the Revo program nor can the name be found there.
- Name cannot be found under the Programs section of the Control Panel (Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit)
- Despite my removing ALL folders bearing the name, Kaspersky in the registry with a safe reboot, their K icon still boots up and appears in the taskbar

I don't know any other recourse on this, and this really has me "fuming!" If anyone can offer some kind of solution for me to remove this program, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Kaspersky Anti-Virus features include real-time protection, detection and removal of viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware, keyloggers malicious tools and auto-dialers. I have used this product and there are no internet security issues so i suggest you all that you can use Kaspersky Antivirus.

Kaspersky Labs said:

Over the weekend, someone wrote to us complaining that Kaspersky Lab was sending spam. Naturally, this came as a bit of a surprise, seeing as how we do nothing of the sort; in fact we do quite the reverse: we combat spam. Of course, we wanted to find out why a user had come to the conclusion that Kaspersky Lab was sending spam to them.

The email that the user complained about had all the hallmarks of a typical online scam: behind the nice pictures reminiscent of Kaspersky Lab?s official advertising there was a link that had absolutely nothing in common with the company?s products. The cybercriminals had done a good job: the email not only looked like an official email from Kaspersky Lab but the ?From? field was a good imitation as well.

After clicking the link, a user unwittingly ends up on a website with an offer to buy a program called Best Antivirus Online. It has to be said that the image of the ?product box? on the web page was not unlike that of Symantec?s signature design ? black font against a predominantly yellow background. To buy the program, the user had to enter their credit card details and email address so they could receive further instructions. We followed these step as part of our investigations, but received no more instructions at the email address we specified. It is quite possible that users could have received more instructions on how to download the fake antivirus at the time the spam was active.

Answer:Fake Kaspersky Antivirus

A person can know well what website is the trusted security products could located it. And if struck by an email then suppose he/she know that the download link would be redirect to a known site that believe to be the main source of a specified Antivirus.

As much as I've used and advocated for certain free AVs over the years, I could not help but notice that one paid AV suite consistently dominated numerous protection tests, namely Kaspersky Internet Security. The protection scores of KIS were not usually significantly higher than the free AVs, but they were consistently higher. It has achieved the highest award (Advanced +) from AV-Comparatives in every Real-World Protection test since 2009, unmatched by any other AV product, paid or free.
So when Kaspersky recently released a free version of its AV, I had to take it for a spin. I downloaded the latest Kaspersky Free (KF) version [18.0.0.405(b)] from: usa.kaspersky.com/free-antivirus
Requirements
OS: Windows XP or higherNon-commercial use onlyFull system requirements: usa.kaspersky.com/free-antivirus
Test Platform:

Real-time protection was Windows software firewall, WinPatrol PLUS and Malwarebytes 3 Premium. All Microsoft and 3rd party  programs/patches were up-to-date.

"Kaspersky has finally launched its free antivirus software after a year-and-a-half of testing it in select regions. While the software was only available in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, China and in Nordic countries during its trial run, Kaspersky is releasing it worldwide. The free antivirus doesn't have VPN, Parental Controls and Online Payment Protection its paid counterpart offers, but it has all the essential features you need to protect your PC. It can scan files and emails, protect your PC while you use the web and quarantine malware that infects your system."

From reading and watching security reviews (esp with this crowd) Kaspersky has become more and more appealing to me over the past year. So tonight while at Walmart I went and looked at the AVs for sale and decided spur of the moment to give Kaspersky AV a try. (1pc AV $30) I prefer in store purchases to avoid automatic renewal enrollment.

I removed my other security solutions and went to the download URL (case does not include a cd) which is a automatic download URL site for the latest version. Kasperky installed in less than 5min and there was no problem activating the license. My computer is very pedestrian but so far I've not noticed any dramatic slow down or high ram usage and the update went smoothly.

First impression in compared with Bitdefender which is the other traditional AV I've had a lot of experience with the software is much more optimized and there is a considerable greater amount of settings, which is a big plus in my book. Currently the settings are at default except I enabled protection for remote control.

My only question right now is, does Kaspersky update automatically to new year releases or do I need to do that manually? Thanks.

Answer:Purchased Kaspersky Antivirus license

It will auto update to the new version if a new version comes within your subscription period. You should have given your local Target a try, they have those on clearance around my area which is 60% off. KIS for 3 PC's $18

I am thinking about switching from McAfee to Kaspersky antivirus. I run a Windows XP machince with McAfee antivirus, and I think it uses too much cpu resources on my machine. I have been reading a lot about different antivirus products and come to the conclusion that it is not very easy to draw a conclusion at all about which antivirus to use. Tests, reviews, and experiences seems to vary a lot between different products and reviews/users. However, I am wondering if anyone has experience using Kaspersky's antivirus (or internet security suite) on Windows XP? Kaspersky seems to offer good protection on Windows XP according to some tests, but I am worried that it will be a resource hog. Also, it seems like several users have had problems uninstalling Kaspersky's products, so I am hesitant to just give it a try and see how it functions on my system...

EDIT: I would also like to hear about experinces of using ESET NOD32 on Windows XP. For some reason, I thought NOD32 was only for Linux. Not sure where that came from...

Answer:Experiences with Kaspersky Antivirus on Windows XP`

Speaking from the past year I've been using it. I'd say a huge NO to Kaspersky. It's done nothing but make my computer run slow and if I had known about their site getting hacked that one time I would have never touched them in a million years. Resource hog it is indeed.Normally I've been using combinations of Avira/Avast and Comodo Firewall, just so I do not have to pay for protection. It saves me allot of time trying to figure out what program I want to spend my money on. But, I'm pretty sure that using two separate programs may chew on resources a little, though probably not as bad as Kaspersky does on it's own. I would simply recommend the full versions of Eset, Avira or Comodo for the best paid protection you can get. All the old well known companies are so full of it nowadays. In terms of how much resources the individual programs use, I'm not entirely certain. I've never personally tested each of them but I've noticed that since Avast's last big update my computer has been running somewhat slower. Comodo is also a little frustating to deal with due to how the firewall is controlled but typically is not a problem once you get used to it. I don't know much about Avira because it's the program my older brother uses, not me. He's never complained though. As for Eset, well the scanner is excellent but I know little other direct experience than that. But yeah the best advice I can give is to stay away from McAfee, Kaspersky a... Read more

As far as I know, the main difference is that KAV does not have Application Control, but Kaspersky Internet Security does.
Does this make a big difference in protection?
I am asking because I want to combo Kaspersky with an app that has a HIPS component, so I need to use KAV rather than KIS.

Answer:how good is Kaspersky AntiVirus, as compared to KIS?

Application control and Trusted Applications Mode are a great additional layer of protection. Which app do you want to add to Kaspersky? IMO KIS would be the best. TAM is really great.

I recently bought Kaspersky antivirus and was really pleased but when I installed it things started to change. A lot of error messages started to appear on page saying that DrWatson wasn't working and do you want to send a message to microsoft. Then I uninstalled Kaspersky and everything was fine. When I tried the program again the same thing happened but this time it was PML driver. I read on somewhere else it was something to do twith the webcam but I uninstalled that software and it still happens.

Plz Help!!!!!

My Kaspersky antivirus keeps deactivating and then making me reactivate it. Every time it deactivates it kills my internet connection.
It was occurring on Kaspersky 2011, so I upgraded to Kaspersky 2013, however I'm having the same problem. I have no idea where to start, any help would be appreciated.

I am having problems uninstalling Kaspersky AntiVirus Personal Pro. When I go to Control Pannel and run the uninstallation, it supposedly completes but after a reboot I notice nothing has happened. I wanted to ask if any one of you had this same problem, and if you did... if you figured out how to remove it. I found this on the Kaspersky Site: I can not uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus via Control Panel... but it doesn't really help because I do not WISH TO EMAIL THEM.... instead I post on a completly remote forum to complain. I am not really having any problems with Kaspersky but i feel like uninstalling it just because.

I have a question about kis file antivirus in the advanced settings under the heuristic analysis if I set that to deep scan does it use more system resources, also does the deep scan setting provide better protection?

Answer:Kaspersky Question about the file antivirus

Depending on Your hardware specs it can slowdown Your system setting it to deep, I would keep the medium value (default).

But I would set it at deep only for on demand scanning in Settings -> Scan -> Advanced Settings -> Selective Scans -> Additional Settings

I hope someone can help me with this. I noticed the new 7.0 KAV was out so I went and tried to upgrade to it from my 6.0 version. When I got so far into installing it, I got an error. Basically there's a file up in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software area for Kaspersky that is locked and I can not get this file deleted out of the registry. Installing the new KAV 7.0 gets so far and then rolls back cause of this error. So I attempted to uninstall 6.0 and got an error doing that so I spent a long time digging KAV 6.0 manually out of my system but I can not get that one KasperskyLab file to delete out of the registry and now I can't even install 6.0 again nor the 7.0 version. I keep getting the error. I went to Kaspersky to see what to do and found a removal tool to take KAV off and even it will not unlock the registry key so I can delete it. I've tried everything to get it to delete. I tried using Unlocker but that doesn't work in the registry. I've scoured my computer for any other entries remaining for Kaspersky that might be keeping it locked but I'm coming up finding nothing else for Kaspersky. Can someone please tell me if there's a program I can use to unlock keys up in the registry so I can delete this entry. I'm stuck and can't figure out what to do next. HELP! HELP! HELP!Moved from the XP Forum. ~acklan~

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the successful patenting in the USA of a hardware-based antivirus system that effectively combats rootkits.

The new technology makes use of a hardware-based antivirus solution whose primary function is to neutralize the most widespread type of threat – malicious programs that store themselves or infect files on a computer's hard drive. The patented antivirus program scans data that is written to the hard disk, identifying and blocking malicious programs.

Patent No. 7 657 941 was registered by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on 2 February, 2010. The patented technology was developed by Oleg Zaitsev, senior technology expert at Kaspersky Lab.

The patented device is installed between a drive (hard drive or SSD) and the computing unit (CPU and RAM) and is connected to the system bus or integrated into the disk controller. The hardware antivirus solution allows or blocks writing data to disk, providing threat alerts and information about its operation to the user (user dialog is possible if the hardware antivirus control utility is installed on the PC). The device can work on a standalone basis or in conjunction with a software antivirus application.

I want to remove my NAV 2003 program (I have been told in another thread to run the removal tool instead of the inbuilt deinstallation wizard). Each version seems to be a resource hog (which is why I have stuck around with this version for so long...in case the installation of a new version kills my PC), and even five years later, nothing seems to have changed, to judge from the negative opinions. I read reviews on NAV 2008. There were hardly any good ones, or only two stars instead of five (customer rating). But obviously, I can't stay with this ancient software either, so I am wondering whether I should switch over to Kaspersky - which I have never had before. I had McAfee once (on my old computer, under Windows 98). It was dreadful. I won't let it an inch within my hard disk. Is Kaspersky AntiVirus recommendable? Safe to install and safe to deinstall? Any issues or characteristic bugs I have to know about?

Answer:Kaspersky or Norton AntiVirus 2008?

But I can't delete it. It is running and I can't stop it with Task Manager also. I attach some screen shoot. Please guide me how to solve it.
Thanks.

Answer:I canīt remove or uninstall Kaspersky Antivirus!!!

You can try the Kaspersky Removal Tool (http://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464). If that doesn't work you can either use System Restore to return to a point before you installed KAV or you can post on the Kaspersky Forum and see if they can help.

Flaw found in Kaspersky antivirusBy Joris EversStaff Writer, CNET News.comPublished: October 3, 2005, 2:24 PM PDT A "critical" flaw in Kaspersky Lab's antivirus software could let an attacker commandeer systems that use the products... update posted by apluswebmaster at SWI- http://www.techweb.com/article/printableAr..._section=700028October 04, 2005"...Kaspersky confirmed the vulnerability in an e-mail to TechWeb, it also said it had already stymied possible exploits by building and releasing a package of signatures that detect possible exploits. "This set of signatures was added to the anti-virus databases of Kaspersky Anti-Virus on September 29, significantly reducing the chances of successful use of the .cab vulnerability exploits," spokesman Alexey Zernov said in the e-mail. He also noted that Wheeler did not publish exploit code, a fact that would make it more difficult for attackers to leverage the vulnerabilities. Zernov also said that company developers were working on an emergency update that would include changes to the .cab scanning module.
