WIndows Store stopped working two updates ago

Question: WIndows Store stopped working two updates ago

I have Windows 10 on PC and Laptop and I found out that two Widnows Store updates ago I made on PC, Windows Store stopped working good, since in the opening screen it does not have small banners of individual apps as it should be but it has only greyed and empty big boxes. When I press button Games on the top, it shows pictures on same game banners but more than a half boxes are still greyed out and empty. Yes I did try wsreset.exe and Powershell trick to fix it, but nothing worked. I recently submitted Feedback about it, but it still not working as it has worked before.

On Laptop I did not make Windows Store update and it still works good, everything showed up correctly as it should.

Could someone confirm this issue and possibly give some direction to fix it if it is possible at all or to ask from Microsoft to make another Windows Store Update which will be working good.

Thank you.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi dzigibau.

You might try the in place replace / upgrade. This will upgrade you to V1703, just an FYI.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Before trying diagnostic procedures I always recommend that you create a backup of your data off machine, create an Image with a tool like Macrium Reflect and have bootable media that matches your current Windows environment.

I had some problems with drivers so I did a recovery on my Windows 10 pc and the problems are fixed now. But now the windows 10 store and most stock applications like mail or calculator stopped working. In the Start Menu their tiles are empty and are called things like "@{Microsoft.WindowsStore_2015.7.22.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwems-resource--Microsoft.WindowsStore-Resources-StoreTitle}". The store and other apps worked perfectly before the recovery. Can I fix this?

I have this older Dell Inspiron which I seldom use. When I've tried using it again it's ridiculously slow and sluggish. Every program, every window folder I open just slow as hell. And now the windows updates get stuck at 0% and I can't update anymore. I've tried every online fix I've been able to find for the updates issue. But nothing. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. Thx.

Hi!

I am new here but would really appreciate some guidance.

About a minth back, an error came up on my notebook that Windows would no longer accept automatic updates with an error:

0xC004D401 An unauthorised change was made to Windows

But nothing was changed! No new software or anything!

Then I also noticed that Trend (my AV) stopped downloading updates. If I try manually I get an error -28 stating the PC is not connected to teh internet. Of course, it is!

I have looked around but cannot find anything to help. A scan by Trend does not reveal any virus or issues.

It is, of course, a genuine version of Vista and has been quite fine for a year.

Can anyone make some suggestions please?

Many thanks,

Paul

Answer:Windows and Trend Updates stopped working

Okay, so I made some progress!

I went back to a restore point about 3 weeks prior, then the windows updates started working (it re-applied the ones between) - they seem fine now.

It's just Trend that doesn't work; I am applying the updates manually but cannot see why it won't work.

Any ideas please?

since installing the latest windows update (approx 7-12 maybe more) days ago, my 3 browsers have stopped connecting to the internet (My internet is connected fine by wifi - skype works fine, it's just firefox/chrome/ie that does not work)

I performed a system restore to before the updates where installed, and ie worked fine - after installing the updates again, IE failed to work again - so i system restored again and turned automatic updates off

Is this a known issue?
It would seem very clear that windows updates have caused this issue, is there a fix?

thank you, please help if you can!

Answer:windows updates stopped browsers working

Welcome Dave
You are half way there. It was not all the updates, but only one that has caused the problem. If you are happy with the way the the computer works now, set the update to notify. When notified, install one at a time, if it works install the next. In that way we will know which update is the problem. Possibly it does not even have to be installed.

I have just reloaded Windows 7 and set up WinMail, after Windows updated 100+ files WinMail now doesnot work, does anybody have any ideas

Answer:WinMail stopped working after windows installed updates

Hello Paul and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm guessing you're talking about Windows Live Mail. It's possible that when you installed WLM something corrupted the installation. It's also possible that one or more of the 100+ Windows Updates failed to install correctly and had an effect on WLM. If you had the updates install automatically it will be difficult if not impossible to figure out which one(s) might be the problem. You may not like the suggestion I'm about to offer.

First, you could uninstall Windows Live Mail, reboot, then try reinstalling to see if the problem is corrected.

How to remove and reinstall Windows Live Essentials

If that doesn't correct the problem I'd uninstall all of the Windows Updates.

Remove an update

Then I'd install maybe 10 at a time, keeping track of which 10 updates you're installing by making note of the KB number. Use the computer for a while to see if there are any problems. If all works as it should, install 10 more updates. If a problem occurs, you'll know exactly which 10 updates might be causing the issue. Uninstall those 10 updates and reinstall just one at a time. Run the computer for a while, if no problems, install next update. Either all 10 will install correctly or you'll find the problem update(s).

If still no joy you could try running the System Update Readiness Tool.

What is the System Update Readiness Tool?.

Hi guys.
I'm here because I've heard a lot about the experts in tenforums so I decided to ask my problem here. I have a HP ENVY 15t-j000 laptop running the latest windows 10 edition which is 1607. Since I've upgraded to anniversary update I have a lot of problems and many errors in the event viewer but above all my biggest problem is with my DVB-T dongle which stopped working suddenly. I was using the dongle before anniversary update with no problem but after the update it started to malfunction. First, for a few times when I started up my system and plugged the dongle into usb port I saw the error on totalmedia software which said no hardware detected. For about 5 or 6 times I could resolve the issue by closing the software, unplugging the dongle, plugging again and opening the software. With this simple approach I could use the DVB-T dongle but suddenly one day it didn't treat the same way and the issue wasn't resolved. I've done a lot of things like uninstalling and installing the driver or opening another user account and some other stuff to resolve the issue but no luck. I have a lot of errors in event viewer and I don't know if they are related to this problem or not. I remember some changes to the system before this problem occurs but I don't know which was exactly before this problem so I mention all of them. Yesterday, I got a balloon notification saying that there were some Windows Updates available. I like to keep my PC up-to-date, and since I wasn't in the middle of anything urgent I had my Windows 7 32-bit PC download and install them. WU asked to reboot my computer, so I got to a stopping point and clicked reboot.

When I rebooted my PC, my 2nd monitor stopped working and wouldn't detect.

So I downloaded installed the latest drivers and restarted, nothing. Tried rolling back to a restore point before the updates, nothing. Uninstalled the video card and rebooted, nothing.

I have an ATI Raedon 3600 Series video card, installed into a Dell Optiplex 360, running 2 Dell 19" LCD monitors. Nothing super fancy or extravagant going on here.

I am a bit at a loss. I was going to maybe take out the video card and try reinstalling it physically and "softwarically". But I do not think that will actually help. It was working fine for months, and so I am guessing it has something to do with the Windows Updates that were installed.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Answer:Installed Windows Updates - 2nd Monitor Stopped Working

I tried installing a new video card, which wasn't much luck. But after I put the Radeon 3650 back in the internal video card was detected. I hooked up my second monitor to that one, which since I do not run any graphics intensive programs on this computer isn't a big deal.

Not my favorite fix, but it works so. Yeah.

I have 3 programs that stopped working, they will not load up, and I believe that The latest Windows updates are responsible. These programs are Inworldz Beta Viewer, Imprudence Viewer, and Second Life Viewer. They have always worked fine for me until Wednesday when suddenly none of them would load up. The next day, Windows 7 didn't want to load up. I had to restart the computer a couple of times before it did.

I have tried system restore, but it fails every time. I tired sfc/scannow command, but it doesn't find anything. Avast antivirus doesn't find any threats, although it finds some "warnings" that it won't seem to do anything about. I can upload an image of those warnings if it would help. Malewarebits doesn't find anything.

The only thing that has changed on my computer that I'm aware of since Wednesday, when Inworldz was working, was Windows installed some updates. So I'm guessing that caused the problems.

I have been advised elsewhere that I should do a Windows 7 Repair, but the process sounds confusing as heck. A complete clean reinstall of Windows 7 sounds easier. But, regardless, if the problem was caused by Windows updates, wouldn't the problem just return when Windows updates itself again after I've done all of that? That's a lot of work only to have the problem return.

I noticed that these 3 programs have log folders. They might keep crash files if someone can make sense of them. I might be able to upload the log files if th... Read more

Answer:3 programs stopped working, I think Windows updates are responsible

I've replied in your other thread as well. You might try System Restore in Safe Mode, and see if that will work (SR has never been reliable for me)

Safe Mode

You might hold off on the Repair Install, but it is pretty straight forward. If you can Clean Install, you can do a Repair Install

Repair Install

IF it was caused by Windows Updates, the System Restore may be your easiest fix, if you can get it to work.

Hi,

I upgraded from iTunes 6 - 7 and as soon as I upgraded i could no longer get to the itunes store or update my ipod from version firmware 1.1.2 to version 2. I then saw there was a new itunes out (7.1 or something) and I updated, but I still can't connect.

I followed every tutorial making sure there wasn't a firewall blocking it, making sure windows wasn't blocking it etc, and looked everywhere for a solution but i can't find one.

Help please, How can I:

Hi,
I don't mean to intrude on someone else's Post but I have the same problem.
This is real bull.
When will Microsoft fix the WindowsApps problem?
I delayed the upgrade from Win 8.1 until the last minute so that the bugs could be fixed.
I have the problem that many seem to have.
WindowsApps, Store, Calculator, Camera etc have stopped working.
I have tried all sort of fixes that I read about.
Reset cache, change ownership of folder, changed security settings for permissions, windows fix and all.
I don't want to do a Reset because of the dozen or more Apps I will need to reinstall including Thunderbird, and you know how that will go, because it will take days.
I have not setup a new User account as I think I may have a problem moving all the files and again, reinstall all the apps.
I might try a repair install and try to keep everything.
Problem with that is when you first launch Setup, it warns that you will not be able to return to Windows 8. It's only been two weeks and I don't want to loose that option yet.

I do not know which Update caused the problem but it started about ten days ago.
Will Microsoft be doing a fix for this?
So many PCs have been affected.

If I restore 8.1, will I be able to do the upgrade again and keep all my stuff?

Also, does anyone know if turning off some of the Privacy options etc can cause this problem.

Thanks
Joe

Answer:WindowsApps, Store, Calculator, Camera etc have stopped working

Have you got a system restore point from before the apps stopped working? You could try that. If no good on that front then it is worth just setting up a new 'dummy' administrator user account just to test and see if the apps in question work on that. If they do it's worth deleting your user account and re-creating. I know it's a total pain but if you select to keep files when deleting your corrupted current user account you can then move all your documents etc into the new user account. Apps from windows store can easily be re downloaded on the new account and any traditional software will still be installed and available to your new account.

i have never done a repair install but I have heard it does wonders and should get you back in business with everything intact. I don't really know much of whether you can get back to 8.1 but would you really want to. I admit Windows 10 is an unpredictable minefield, there is a lot of problems and the native apps are causing much grief. But Windows 10, there is little getting away from it - in time a lot of software will be Windows 10 only I'm sure as the aggressive MS campaign wins out. Might as well try and embrace it.

if you get everything back working again take regular system restore points and use either Windows in built image or macrium reflect to take system images from time to time. A system image can return you to a functional machine in a matter of hours

I bought this PlayStation2-like usb gamepad from cd-r King (a local gadget store here in the philippines). It was perfectly working alright on my windows xp desktop pc.

Now i have a new laptop, windows 7 home premium, and the same gamepad worked fine and was able to play a couple of games with it. Until recently (actually more or less a month ago), it just stopped working. Whenever i plug it, it keeps saying 'USB Device not recognized' and 'Device driver was not successfully installed' and the 'Code 43 error'.

What can i do? I really want to play with it. It worked before, i may just have done or installed something that conflicted with it. I tried it with my friend's laptop (xp) and it was working fine. I've got a fully patched version of Windows 7 Professional.

When I'm running Windows Update, I get to the window that lists the updates that are available, e.g. "3 optional updates are available, 2 important update are available," or whatever.
If I then click on one of those links to get a list of what the updates are, Windows Explorer crashes. Every single time. It gives the message "Windows Explorer has stopped working."
I have tried running in Safe mode, except Windows Update doesn't run in Safe mode so that's no help.
I've tried setting up a clean boot. That didn't help.
I've scanned for viruses with a couple of different anti-virus/malware products. Nothing found.
I've run sfc /scannnow. It found no errors.
Any other ideas?

Good Evening All,

First of all, let me apologize beforehand for the rambling post. I just don't really know where to start and what information is needed. I'm hoping there is hope for my Lenovo T410 laptop.
When I try to open most programs I get the error listed in the title of this post. Then it goes to "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". Then it closes and goes away. I haven't been able to figure out any rhyme or reason to the apps that do not load.

I was stupid and recently performed every Windows Update that showed up and my problems have started since. One of my original problems was with GfxUI.exe stopping, so I uninstalled Microsoft.NET Framework and that seems to have helped with that error at least (original error screen shot attached, I think 2.0 is still on the machine). I've also manually uninstalled any of the updates I can specifically remember installing.
Additionally I've tried to do a system restore as far back as I am able, but that hasn't helped. I wish I had earlier restore points.

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1) and my computer has (relatively) recently stopped automatically updating. I have a constant alert in the status bar telling me this is the case with automatic updates and attempting it manually gives me an error code - 80096001 - immediately after attempting it. This problem may have coincided with me uninstalling AVG some time ago, but I'm not sure when it began for sure.

The reason for the thread title is because I recently attempted to install Microsoft Security Essentials, which also failed to auto-update in its initial setup. Could these issues be linked?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a Windows 7 SP1 machine that is no longer notifying me of Windows updates.

It is set to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download an install them".

Until a few months ago, it always issued the appropriate notifications. Then it just stopped.

If I manually check for updates, it works fine, but I want to receive notifications for updates.

I've resorted to manually checking for updates every day. Based on the content of some of these "important" updates (which are really just ads for Windows 10), I no longer trust MS, and thus I do not want automatic updates.

I tried momentarily selecting "Never check for updates." and then re-enabling "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download an install them", but that did not help.

How can I fix this?

Answer:Check for updates stopped working

Hmmm... nobody else having this issue?

Hi all, only me again.

My mouse has stopped working after i did some window's updates!, it's only a ?4 mouse from asda in the UK, but was working fine before i did them. I went into my task manager and 2 of the USB's have warning's on them? Also this is the latest update that's killed my mouse.

Thankyou in advance

Answer:Mouse stopped working after updates!

Whenever you do an update, the system automatically creates a restore point so you can "roll-back" from the updates.

You can do a system restore by following this guide. System Restore

Once your system is working properly again, go through and install each update one at a time to see which one gives you problems.

Hopefully, this helps

I Tried to connect to my 2 other PCs this morning. I just get a screen where it says it's 'Initialising Display parameters'
but will not get past this screen.

Was working perfectly yesterday!

Oh and I can take control of these same computers if I try it from my Linux Ubunto PC. So that rules out the network and all of the other PCs which are still on win7

Is it just me thats having this trouble?

Using Fedora Core 6, and I had beryl effects working properly and the ATI catalyst control center was functioning properly as well.

However, I allowed the system to update itself (231 updates or so) and afterwards, ATI CC fails to even load, Beryl loads but the effects are no longer working. I'm still new to Linux so troubleshooting is a huge pain so far...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Answer:Beryl, ATi Catalyst stopped working after system updates

You probably updated your kernel and you have to reinstall/recompile the ATI drivers.

I recently updated my Nvidia Driver, i did it carefully to make sure the information is correct. I install it and went to play a game that requires Java, Minecraft. When i opened it, it loaded and frozed and said "Java(TM) SE Binary has stopped working."It was running fine before I update my Driver, but the reason why I updated it is because the FPS keeps on dropping in the middle of multiplayer gameplay. I thought that updating it would be better, why not? I trust Nvidia on my PC.Specs:Lenovo Y570 64 BitIntel i7500GB HDD8GB RAMNvidia 555m:1: Ok i Uninstalled Java and installed it and the gave finally launches but when i press play it does "Could not create Virtual Machine"  Oh silly me, i remember that Java 32 bit only allows 1.5 GB, i'll install 64 bit.:2: I have installed 64 bit java, but it gets back to this error: "Java(TM) SE Binary has stopped working." Awww. D'::3: Hmm... The heavily modded pack of the game works but still I want to play Vanilla not moddy pack ex. Technic Launcher.. Man my game is at 20 fps stable, no drops and won't go up, better than the 60 fps to 5, I might have to live with playing 20 fps..

I just upgraded my OS to Windows 10 from 8.1 a few days back, and the Windows Store is the only thing giving me issues at the moment.

It shows the Progress Bar of the download but frequently it just stays at 0.0MB / ???? MB downloaded for the apps and doesn't move at all. I tried to clear the Windows Store Cache even the command prompt of sfc/scannow (sfc/scannow says no integrity violation) but still there was no progress.

I tried googling for answers but none to avail as most of it are for windows 8.1. So if have any tips to solve it, it will be much appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Windows Store not Downloading Updates

Got the same problem and tried already several solutions, which are mostly applicable for Windows 8/8.1 btw.

- Troubleshooter doesn't find anything wrong
- Did delete several times the SoftwareDistribution-folder, after disabling the services (BITS, CryptSvc and Wuauserv) and enabling again
- Disabled some services via msconfig and restarted, but also that didn't help.
- Did even uninstall all McAfee-software (which was crap anyway)

Hello, since last fast ring insider update my App updates are stuck in windows store and won't install. All I get is an error that doesn't help me any further with my online search. I already restarted my device and canceled the update's and started them again without any success. Anybody got an idea? I don't want to factory reset unless I really have too ?

Answer:App updates are stuck in windows store

I am on insider fast aswell and at first it was the same for me (all updates failed) but then I just paused the few that were ongoing and the rest updated then, including the ones I paused. I did press check for updates again though, just in case. Maybe you could retry to update the apps one more time, if it doesn't work then maybe just signing out and then signing back to store may help.

Hello, Everyone -

Please forgive me if this has already been asked in a thread, but I did search through the forums quite a bit and could not find anything pertaining to this.... So again, I apologize if I am being repetitive...

Can anyone shed some light on a strange issue?

Currently, I have an ExoPC with Windows 8 RP 32-bit, a Dell Inspiron Duo with Windows 8 RP 32-bit, and also a Dell Latitude E6520 (i7 quad-core) with Windows 8 RP 64-bit.

I use the same Live ID to log-in to these machines at various times.

I have the exact same apps installed on all three, and I keep all three synced with my Live ID.

Normally, updates are never an issue. But recently, in the Store Metro UI Icon, it indicated that there was 1 update to an app. I would launch the Store, and on the Store main page in the upper right corner, it did indeed indicate that 1 update was available. Then, when I click on the "1 update available" link on that page, the next page of the Store loads, and inidicates "App updates - No updates available." and the only option is the back-arrow icon to go back.

This happened on all three devices, as I would log on to them at various times. The same message.

Well, now this is up to showing that 3 apps need updating, but when I follow the link I get the same message - "App updates - No updates available." and the only option is the back-arrow icon to go back. And, this is now on all three of my devices.

So - what on earth am I doing... Read more

Is anyone else finding the store nothing short of hopeless with regard auto app updates. The process works because some apps do update. But the amount of times they also get stuck is ridiculous. I'll often go into the store on my PC and sometimes manually do a check for updates. But as I go to the downloads and updates tab I quite often see a couple of apps stuck updating at 0.1 and nothing seems to bump the along (even exiting the store) unless I press the cross to stop it and then recheck for updates whereupon said updates will re appear and I can initiate a manual update which seems to work. I notice the actual native MS apps are the most prone. I even got offered an update for Twitter which was stuck. I don't even have that one installed! It just seems plain buggy to me. Do you think I am better off turning auto updates off

So, just discovering that with Windows 8 modern apps (Metro apps), when a new user logs into a machine for the first time, the default set of Windows 8 modern apps are installed (including the old version). Then, each person who subsequently logs in has to run the updates from the store to get onto the latest versions.

What is the Microsoft thinking here? We want to build a master image, update it (including any store apps), and then have it deployed in an updated state for all users.

But as we found out the hard way, you don't update store apps before you run sysprep or you are in not going to be able to even run sysprep to capture the image;
Sysprep fails if Metro Apps have been "updated"

Then, on a machine that is used by multiple people, each has to update the store apps on a per user basis? Really??? Are Windows updates on a per user basis, no. Are service packs on a per user basis, nope. What the hell Microsoft.

I'm not sure if it's a Surface 3 specific issues and the S3 has been one problem after another on Win 10 but my store downloads and Windows Update downloads just seem to get stuck and never complete. WU never gets off of "Waiting for download".
Every so a store update may start to download. It can take a good 4 to 8 hours, if at all, for all the updates to process. If a download does start it seems to run normally.
Checking my task manager shows the CPU and network are mostly sitting idle.
I've cleared out the SofrwareDistribution folder but it hasn't helped any.

Answer:Both Store and Windows Updates stuck

I had this same issue (I didn't realize that the store updates didn't work either until reading this) and managed to fix it with the steps below.
Google "trouble installing microsoft surface and windows updates" (I would give the link but I don't have enough posts) and click the result that matches this. Go to the section about manually downloading the updates and follow the instructions. I had to restart my computer several times for it to work (once for the manual update and once because my Internet adapter malfunctioned), but afterwards, all the updates started downloading.

Does any one have a solution to any of these problems? Help Please

Answer:Why are all my windows store apps updates stuck at 0.0 mb?

Hello and Welcome to Windows Central,
I have experienced this but only for a few moments - it's possible that the servers are currently busy with the release of the Windows 10 to users worldwide. You may try any of the following:
- wait a little while, e.g. around 30 minutes, before trying again
- restart the Store App
- restart your PC
Should you wish to provide us with more details or ask further questions, please don't hesitate to create a Windows Central account and respond to this thread.

I have read over every article. did everything it has said. NOTHING has worked. This is really frustrating me. Everything works but start menu, app store, cortana, and edge it seems. I have not discovered what other goodies have stopped. Is there a viable solution with out having to factory restore and lose all my programs. i am running Windows 10 Version 1511 Build 10586.71 on a 64 bit system. Can anyone help me this is really annoying. I have created a local account that seems to work fine.

As of a recent update to windows I've had the following major errors

1. Start menu is unresponsive
2. Edge icon in taskbar is missing and unresponsive
3. Wifi button in taskbar is unresponsive
4. Can't access settings at all. Tried numerous methods including trying to access it through the control panel
Troubleshooting these issues has been a major hassle as most of the solutions I've found needed access to settings in some form or another.

Try deleting (or moving if you are afraid it will hurt your system) the "TileDataLayer" folder from your Users/your username/appdata/local/ folder.

That helped for me and i have been trying to fix this all day

Also tried an sfc scan and another scan that I've forgotten in an elevated command prompt with no success.

I go to Metro Store because it shows there are 3 to update: Skype, Norton Studio and Kindle.None of these applications appear in Control Panel's Uninstall Program list nor are they found in the Programs folder.I don't know why the updates are being offered and don't want to install the apps.Anyone know how to get it to stop offering the app updates?I searched Google and Here but find nothing related.(It is possible that this HP Pavilion came with Norton Studio and was removed on day 1 but find no remnants of it)

Answer:Windows store offers updates for apps not installed

These applications may be on the All apps start menu. Right-click a blank portion on the start menu and click show all apps on the right bottom corner. Now carefully scrutinize all the apps that are installed. These app may not be in the Program Files folder ( and/or Program Files (x86) Folder ).You may stop the updates being offered. This tutorial may be useful.CoolGuy

I have noticed over the past 4 weeks that my Windows Store App Live tile displays a number of updates for example 19 - when you go into the store and click on updates there may be only 14 or 15 updates.

I know changes have been made to Skype updates and this is no longer available to update via the app - have there been any other changes I should be aware of? This is not just on one device but 4 in the same household. None of the Live tiles display the number of updates actually being available?

Previously the live tile and actual updates available have always matched?

Confused and would appreciate any help

Thank you

Hey,

Just installed a clean boot from an ISO I made via the official download and everything is great apart from downloading - its really slow and seems to take ages downloading any upgrades from the Windows update section or even the metro updates ?

What gives any anyone else had this problem - solutions?

Cheers

Answer:slow downloads from windows update and app store updates

Hi,
I am having the same problem. I went to download some apps and hit the update button on the existing apps. That was 3 hours ago and nothing has changed. All the apps still say downloading.....

Any idea why they are not downloading? I have a fairly quick download speed. Hour long episodes download in around 10 minutes.

Cheers

All Windows 10 lovers,
I just got an update of windows 10 on my Lumia 535. I found few issues. I hope i'll get some solutions here.
Problem: When i visited into Store -> Downloads and Updates, it shows me list of all the apps which needs to update. But the worst part is that there is no way to view/find out that what is the updates available for a specific application. I tried long press on the list, but no luck.
Please let me know, if anyone has any other way to get the updates information.

My Windows 8 Pro Store lists 4 available App updates: music, video, games and mail. When I select STORE and chose to update, the apps attempt to download and install the updates. They have failed to update for 4 days now. The error codes are either 0x80070002 OR 0x80246007.

I have previously downloaded and followed the instructions for apps.diagcab, rebooted. Nothing seems to resolve my inability to update these recently released App updates.

I have not installed any new software. My other Apps, including Bing, News and Finance continue to list current updates without any exceptions.

Whenever I attempt to open music, games, video and mail, they fail to open and revert back to START.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is Microsoft aware of this issue and attempting to resolve it? Thank you.

I accidently ran the command : "Get-appxprovisionedpackage online | where-object {$_.packagename like "*windowscommunicationsapps*"} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage online"
Now my windows 10 mail, calendar and people apps are not working so is the store so I can not re-install them.
Does anyone knows how to undo it?

Answer:Windows 10 Mail, Calendar, People and Store not working!! How can I get it working?

I have tried every fix out there and this is the ONLY one that worked for me
1. go to control panel
2. search "view network connections"
3. go to view network connections
4. choose your network( which you are currently using )
5. right click on it and select properties
6. scroll down to " internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) "
7. hit properties
8. Now choose Use the following DNS Server addresses
9. right down preferred DNS Server - 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS Server - 8.8.4.4
10. These are the addresses of Google's DNS Servers
11. They are free to use.
12. Hit ok
13. close all the tabs
14. Now start the windows store again now it should work if not works for you restart your computer or restart the windows store services

Hello!
It looks like some new issue because there is new thread in Microsoft support with more and more people reporting this.
OneDrive, Dropbox, Creative Cloud (Adobe) and Mail app, Skype, Windows Store and Update is not connecting to the network only in affected wifi network. Web browsers are working like always.
I'm sure it's source might be on Microsoft side or in router because it affects all Windows PC/laptops in one wifi network, everything works fine just when you connect to different wifi (from smartphone for example) or sometimes for few minutes after router is reset or when I change router DNS.
Store gives 0x800704cf error, same for Windows Update, OneDrive sometimes shows 0x8004de40 and that is how I got to thread where more and more people are reporting this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...f-56517a0e6d57
Is there any hope for us? :( What could be wrong, maybe MS is just limiting our services somehow but why router might be a target? I have to say that all my content is legal and from decent sources (Netflix, YouTube, Showmax), all software is legit + OneDrive is premium.
BTW: Europe, Poland but I see that people from different countries are affected.

Read more at Microsoft will separate Edge browser updates from the Windows 10 OS with Redstone 3

Chrome is updated frequently and seamlessly by Google; however, Microsoft's Edge browser is only updated - aside from security updates - in new feature builds of Windows 10, which only happens twice per year.

But according to internal sources, that's all going to change in September, when the next feature update to Windows 10, codenamed Redstone 3, is released. Users will finally be able to get updates to the Edge browser via the Windows Store, which will allow Microsoft to add new features more frequently.

Answer:Edge Browser Updates to be delivered via Windows Store from September

It sounds like a good idea, but if it a manual update how many average home users will search the store updates. Microsoft needs to make it more automated I think.

Every night I wake up to my PC being in sleep mode because Windows has decided to update my PC during the night. The only problem is I end up losing any work or downloads I had going during the night, I put Steam on and oh look I'll have to wait to play a game I was downloading. The other night I was uploading WoW Classic client to my friend and oh look it cancelled. Windows 10 has no respect for anything that you're doing, it just forces these updates on you... some of which give you driver issues, I use a specific driver for Rainbow Six Siege as the game is broken for me, but oh look Windows don't care...
I use the store to play Gears or Forza, however disabling these updates then kills that off as they're stupidly forced online play and require the latest update like the anniversary update which breaks my mic and sound drivers.
I just want to be able to turn automatic updates off and manually install them myself.

I have set my windows update on notify me about new updates. Because I am on a capped data plan,so I have to keep an eye on what gets downloaded. Last month I was busy in my examination schedules that I could not even turn on my laptop. now on 2nd march I opened my laptop checked for updates, it showed 28 updates available.I started downloading, after 2.3MB download it failed. almost installed 8 updates. Then yesterday I again checked for updates.now it kept on checking after an hour or so it showed 21 updates available. I started download, but it did not download anything for straight 3 hours. The connection manager of the dongle also showed zero upload/downloaded data despite I have full strength connection. I searched the web, found a solution on seven forums(http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/111016-windows-update-stuck-0-a.html) telling to empty the software distribution directory after stopping windows update service. I did that but of no avail. so I restored the deleted files. Now windows update shows that I have never checked for update neither installed any. I am at my wits end. I previously faced this problem and posted about it in this forum. but surprisingly it automatically started downloading and installing them. But now I am stuck at the same place again or even worse position. Any help should be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:windows 7 again stopped downloading updates

I again emptied the software distribution folder again as a last attempt. And didn't restore anything. This time it seemed to do the trick. Thank you.

I would be really interested to learn if others have found that Microsoft have made it impossible to use Windows Update if they remain on other than Windows 10. I can see there are Security Updates for my Windows 7 Laptop and my Windows 8.1 Notebook but cannot download them because MS appears to have prevented this. Looking on the Internet, this appears to be a deliberate policy by MS to force Windows 10.
Is there a simple work around? And do we think that this is a really arrogant way for MS to treat its customers?

Answer:Windows Updates Stopped by Microsoft

Spent all day Saturday trying to fix a win 7 laptop that was running very slow, this included updating windows 7. Updates installed without problem.
Even after clearing out all the crap it still ran slow (Intell M900 2G ram).
Yesterday I updated it to Win 10 64 bit, electing to keep nothing, the machine now runs very well considering its poor chip and low memory.
Remember the free upgrade to win 10 is only on offer for the next couple of months.

Answer:Windows 10 App Store not Working

Hi @NavinVerma ,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6 Notebook and the error code is 0x80072EFD appearing as you are trying to use the Windows 10 App Store. Here is a link to Microsoft that indicates there is an update needed.  You could  try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix any updates that have not come through for Windows 10.  Please restart the Notebook twice to make sure all update have been completed! Here is a document that shows how to update drivers that are not working correctly with Windows 10. If you are running a virus protection program, try to temporarily disable it.  If that does not help right click on the Windows Store app and uninstall it. Then reinstall it.I hope this helps.Thanks.

Hi,

When I want to install an app from the Windows Store, I get a message with error code: 0x80070032. I have tried everything I could find on the internet to solve this, but nothing works.

Can someone help me?

I have a brandnew HP Pavilion laptop, on which Windows 8 was pre-installed.

Answer:Windows Store not working

Karin, I got the same error when I was trying to download free apps from the store on my Lenovo running W 8.0.
I decided to update with Windows 8.1, hoping that would solve the problem.
After installing 8.1, the Store would revert back to the Start Screen after one second.
I posted the problem here, but I made no progress until I found the thread with the title:

Store - Re-register in Windows 8 and 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, the Store may not start at all.
1. Open a command prompt.

2. In the command prompt, copy and paste the command below, and press Enter. (see screenshots below)

Code:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML

This allowed me to visit the Windows Store.
It has been working for several days now, so it looks like it was my solution.
You may want to try the fix before installing W 8.1 like I did.
Good luck.

I've tried multiple methods that I've found online and none of them have worked. When I type in 'Windows Store' into Cortana's search box, it pops up, but I cannot access it. I think I might have deleted the files to access it, but I have no idea what is going on with it or anything of the sort.
