Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK - OneKey Recovery does not work after installing latest update of windows 10?

Question: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK - OneKey Recovery does not work after installing latest update of windows 10?

Why OneKey Recovery does not work after installing latest update of windows 10? I have updated windows today (14 Oct 2017). I think the latest version of windows 10 has been installed on my laptop now. After installing this latest version of windows 10, I am unable to make system backup using pre-installed OneKey Recovery Software in my Lenovo Yoga500 14ISK laptop. An another issue is I found a windows.old folder in my system drive which is using approximately 15 GB. It is a very disturbing thing to me. It is appearing after installing the updates. Can anybody help me with the above issues. Thanks in advance. Sincerely,Rubel Ahmed

Preferred Solution: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK - OneKey Recovery does not work after installing latest update of windows 10?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I have Yoga 500 which has a i5 6200U. It came installed with Windows 10.I get my backup with last version of OneKey Recovery before the serviced. Backup is 120 GB.After the service, I try to install my backup but it doesn't work. I tried different ways. 1- I try to do that with OneKey Recovery on my desktop. After the restart, there is a blue screen and diffrent alternative options.-First, I choose connect a device (DVD, Usb HDD etc.) and after than I choose my external hard disk which is include backup files. 4 seconds later, nothing gonna happen and Window 10 start as ever as. It doesn't work.-Second, I choose other option (Repair etc.). After then I choose System Image ... ( I don't remember the full name). I try to sellect my backup.wpi file and others files, but it doesn't work also.2- I try to do that with Novo Button. I choose System Recovery. There is a same screen with the OneKey Recovery. I try the do same steps but it doesn't work also.3-I'm sure that my backup is doesn't have a problem but I create a new backup for trying. It doesn't work also.*I also try to format my laptop to Install Windows 8 but I can't. I disable UEFI mode and other bios options but nothing gonna change. I have very important datas on my backup. At least I recover that. How can I open .wsi and .dsi files? I think problem is "OneKey Recovery not compatible with Windows 10". Hi, i had a problem with my Lenovo Yoga 13, I recovered all the data but the partitions are all messed up, and Onekey Recovery doesn't work. I know is something about the partitions, I had also a problem with something called "Intel Rapid Technology" giving me an error, i fixed it creating a partition and setting the id of it (i saw that on this forum somewhere). My list of partitions is this:    Number    Type           Size            Offset------------- ---------------- ------- ---------------Partition 1 OEM           1000 MB      1024 KBPartition 2 System       260 MB        1001 MBPartition 3 OEM           1000 MB      1261 MBPartition 4 Reserved   128 MB         2261 MBPartition 5 Primary       92 GB          2389 MBPartition 6 Primary       4096 MB      95 GBPartition 7 Unknown     8191 MB      99 GBPartition 8 OEM            12 GB          107 GB The partition 7 is the one that I created. I think that partition 1 and partition 8 should appear as "Recovery" type partitions, but I don't know how to set them so. The data in the "D" partition is all there, but i'm not sure about the others, but... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 13 disk partitions for onekey recovery... or delete onekey?

hi iperich,

In some cases, if the partition structure of the hard drive is changed, OneKey Recovery may cease to work.

If you're leaning towards freeing up space on the Yoga 13, check this Yoga 13 Hotfix.

Alternatively, you can also try the following.
1. Create a recovery drive (if it's still applicable - this is to backup your recovery partition into a flashdrive)
2. Follow this guide by Yikes2000. on how to manually repartition the Yoga 13.

In regards to manually deleting partitions 6,7, and 8, this would be fine if the OS is located in partition 5 (ensure that you back-up important files first).

My Yoga 13 has been absolutely solid and silent for 11 months now. I have the original SSD partitions (256GB), and factory Windows 8.0 OneKey recovery untouched.  Since I am thinking of passing this unit to my daughter everntually, it would be nice if I can get OneKey recovery updated to instally a ready to run Windows 8.1 image on recovery. Is there a procedure that would allow me to do this?  I would like to retain the speedy startup also, so Intel SpeedStart has to be retained.  I can strip down everything to the bare OS and working drivers to create an image. What I need is a valid procedure to update the OS used for OneKey recovery. Thanks in advance...

Does anyone have a patch or new release link for Lenovo OneKey Recovery? I recently bought a G450 and Win 7 Ultimate-64bit separately, there is no link available in the support and download page under this model yet. I tried installing the Vista 64 bit version and still does not work as well. I did a clean install downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo support page.

Hi 2ionel,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

The Fn (Function Keys) will only work if the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) is installed in your Z400 Touch Laptop. Hence, I would suggest you to install the exact LEM from the below link:

On the Lenovo Onekey Recovery, I selected the option to restore system partition to its initial status. Now I'm not sure what this does exactly, but it then asked for what language I wanted to use and then username and password. And before I could type in anything, the screen turn black and no matter what I did, it wouldn't budge from there. Now I don't know if I accidentally removed windows and I don't know how to get it back. Does anyone know what options I have?

Hello, dear Lenovo users. Today, a few hours ago, I decided to update my bios via the following:http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/in/hi/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-z-series-laptops/ideapad... After updating, the computer restarted and then suddenly something very unusual displayed on the screen: "Loading files.." with a progressbar, then afterwards the Lenovo logo showed up trying to boot into OneKey Recovery. I assure you that I had all the programs closed, and encountered no issues when I first ran this update. It automatically caused me to restart and began updating. How do I fix this issue? I have really important files in this laptop and I do not want to restore my data to its initial state. I do not mind restoring everything to the very beginning but I need my data for work.

Answer:Z510 - Latest Bios update caused automatic booting to OneKey Recovery

Oh dear. I managed to access the bios by spamming my F2 key, changing the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy, exiting saving changes and then it stopped looping into OneKey Recovery. Afterwards I restarted my computer and entered the bios, changed the boot mode back to UEFI and it still worked. Unusual, but at least it worked. Just incase if anyone encounters this issue as I did, this might help solve it.

Answer:Lenovo G580 Resized drive now Onekey recovery wont work

hi zshakaz,

If you have unhide the hidden partition and or created a new volume, the hidden partition's attribute might have gotten changed automatically. A similar problem was discussed here and a relevant solution was posted here.

The solution was to:

1. Open the command prompt (click Start and type cmd)

2. On the Command Prompt, type diskpart and press Enter3. type list disk and press Enter4. note which one of listed disks is user?s HDD, type sel disk X (where X is number of user?s HDD) and press Enter5. type list part and press Enter6. note which partition is WinPE one and type sel part X (where X is number of WinPE partition (usually it is the last one and has the biggest number) and press Enter.  (i.e.  Partition 3, with 14GB, yours could be different)7. type set id = 12 and press Enter8. type exit and press Enter

Hope this helps

I am trying to restore my Lenovo G770 to its original state (factory settings). I tried to use the System Recovery option from the OneKey Recovery menu (which is the same as reaching it whilst booting the computer), but what that does is it restarts the computer a few times and keeps it exactly how it was before trying to do so. I also tried making the CDs by choosing Create Recovery Disc from the OneKey Recovery menu but I am given a message which says: This program cannot find the initial backup image. This function is currently unavailable. After looking at different threads, I realized it was because I resized the C: partition of the hard disk. Initially, when I first bought my laptop, the hard drive had 4 partitions by default which are of the following (My hard drive size came as 750GB): 1. The System Reserved 100MB partition (which is hidden and obviously in every computer by default). 2. The C: Drive partition (I don't know how big it was)3. The D: Drive partition (Again, I don't know how big this was)4. Finally, the OEM Reserved (Lenovo) 14.5GB partition (which is where all the recovery files are kept)  Now, I didn't mess with the OEM Reserved partition at all, but what I did was I deleted the D: drive and made the C: Drive bigger, so that I can use my space more efficiently. Again, the problem is probably caused because of resizing the C: partition.  My question is: How can I make it so that ... Read more

Answer:Lenovo G770: OneKey Recovery doesn't work because of resizing the C: partition?

Hi za1407 and welcome to the community,

When you deleted D: you deleted the drivers and applications that OneKey needs to restore to factory specs.  There were also hidden files on there it also needed.

At this point, just resizing the partitions isn't going to make OneKey work.

The only way to get it back to factory is to get yourself a set of restore discs.  This will resize the partitions and put everything back the way it was.

Here's a thread where we were experimenting with the partitions.

Answer:Yoga 3 14 - Question about onekey recovery and windows 10

I actually used OneKey Recovery last night. It's a very quick and easy process, there's nothing to it, just a few clicks and it re-formats your hard drive and sends you back to Windows 8.Everything is as it was when you first purchased the computer. I am still in the process of restoring all of my Apps, Documents and Settings right now since I did the OneKey Recovery last night. But like I said; all you have to do is boot into OneKey (by holding down the reset button while the computer is off), then OneKey will come up and will ask you if you'd like to continue with the Restore, you can do either a "Initial Backup" or "Custom Backup" where you can choose a specific Image File that you've created with Lenovo's Backup Tool in Windows to Restore with. If you don't have one then you use the "Initial Backup" and it does everything for you...It only takes about 5-10 minutes depending on the speed of your computer. And before you know it you will be back on Windows 8 starting over again from the beginning!Trust me when I say, ONLY USE THIS AS A LAST RESORT!Good luck, I hope this helps!

Computer : Lenovo IdeaPad P580 with Windows 7

Hi ! My internal HDD died, but I managed to backup everything with both the Windows 7 utility (both files and system image), and OneKey Recovery. The HDD was changed and set back to factory default. I can easily restore the files, but the system image from Windows 7 utility is not detected. I want to try to restore my computer with OneKey Recovery.

1. When I press the OKR button in Windows, the OneKey Recovery program is displayed, as it should.
2. I ask for a recovery, it says the system will boot in recovery mode.
3. I get the BIOS splash screen, then Windows 7 splash screen, and then Windows simply boots normally.
4. The OKR button won't activate the recovery mode ; it simply acts like the power button.

My problem is much similar to the one explained in the topic "One-Key Recovery will not boot into recovery system (y450)", however, the Lenovo's hidden partition is already hidden (its type is already set to 12). This video also provides the very same solution, but it doesn't seem to apply to my case.

Let me explain :

I have 4 partitions :
1. One hidden partition of 200 MB*. I've read it might be the WinRE environnement, I should not touch it. Originally, it had no name, but I gave it the name "Environnement WinRE". Its partition type ID is 07 (NTFS Windows).
2. My main partition C:, type 07. Size : 653,44 GB
3. Lenovo's D: partition, type 07. Size : 25,47 GB
4. Lenovo's hidden diagnost... Read more

Answer:Can't boot OneKey's recovery mode, OneKey button does not work

good question.  I can't offer any suggestions here but would also like to know if those other partitions are really needed if you have a complete cloned hdd with those other partitions as a backup.  I don't like the idea there is at least 40GB of unnecessary partitions and data reserved that I cannot use.

Hi everyone, my setup - Windows 8.1, Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 with Bluetooth integrated. After installing latest Bluetooth package from Intel (via Lenovo System Update), I lost Bluetooth permanently. - I tried to uninstall the driver update, nothing changed.- I tried to restore via Windows Restore Point (I made a fresh restore point before installing these updates), no success... I have noticed that: - When this happened, the fingerprint reader behaved strange - it didn't light up (with green light) at the Windows start, and Windows was asking me for a password instead of fingerprint.- In device manager. Bluetooth category disappeared (I was there before the upgrade - for sure.). but I saw a new unrecognized device which name ended with something like "(Device Enumeration failed)" - this could propably be the Bluetooth card.- The tray icon for Bluetooth disappeared.- The Bluetooth submenu of the System and Devices option in Windows Settings disappeared (and it was there before). - Searching for Bluetooth in Windows 8.1 setting (with Win + W hotkey) athough returned "Configure Bluetooth Devices" or similar, but when I clicked it, it couldn't navigate to that option - just took me to the main settings screen. I had to do a system restore using Linux (fortunately made a full HD image backup of both HDD and SSD drives using Clonezilla - that was the only way to repair this actually - instead of full reinstall of Windows). The only driver that ... Hi guys. So I backed up all of my data into an external hard drive using the built-in Lenovo OneKey Recovery 8. My laptop is the Lenovo Y500 running the Windows 8.1 OS. After backing up my data, I decided to dual-boot Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 but for that to work I needed to do a fresh install of Windows 7 first. So I used diskpart to clean out my hard drive and partitioned it during the installation process of Windows 7. The bad thing here is that I think I also deleted the OneKey Recovery partition in the process.  My question then is how will I be able to recover my backed up data now? Will I be able to recover the OneKey Recovery partition? How will I be able to install OneKey Recovery 8? Thanks so much for answering.

Hi Vinay,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per your query we understood that you are facing the issue with system recovery on ThinkPad E430.

I am sorry to inform you that ThinkPad system will not be having One Key Recovery option. To perform the system recovery you have to use ThinkVantage button on the system or you can use the recovery disc which you have created after the system purchase.

Hi just got lenovo yoga 500 - 14ISK for christmas and the bootup time to start Windows 10 is about 4 to 5 minites. With 8g ram, I5-6200 cpu and SSHD 1TB + 8g hard drive it seems abit long. I also have a desktop pc with I5,8g ram and a SSD drive and it take less than a minite. I know its not a full SSD drive in the yoga 500 but its so long to boot up i dont no if its all Lenovo bloatware loading or if its a faulty drive. Any one had the same problem and can give advice please.

Hi focus 5522,system boot up with sshd drive must be under 20 seconds (even with lenovo bloatware), there must by some hw or sw problem, try check your device manager for some broken drivers or task manager for some high cpu usage processes and it can help to find out what's wrong. If you can't find anything, just try reinstall whole your system (lenovo recovery from recovery partiton - accessible thought novo button, or you can download win10 iso image and microsoft usb instal tool and reinstal whole system without lenovo sw.)Tomas

Hello, Just received this laptop yesterday and liking it so far. Trying to update as many drivers as possible which lenovo seems to make difficult with their own customs one. One of the drivers is the Intel HD Graphics one, which provides an error when i do a solution centre scan - forget this issue for a sec, apparently this is a false positive but is fixed by newer drivers. When I go to install the latest Intel VGA driver for my machine (updated 12/8/16), i get through the installation and then get an error message when it finishes up telling me the  "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the manufacturor" Of course when i go to install one direct from intel I also get this message. I'm not sure what to do from here? Why is the driver on the Lenovo website not recognised? The driver remains on an old version (now over a year old). Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jack

I just purchased a new Z50-70 (run-out stock) with Windows 8.1, and am trying to understand Onekey Recovery, disk partitions etc. I read a lot of the blogs on this, but still not clear. In this Lenovo support documenthttp://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht077144it says"NOTE: The far left small Recovery Partition, EFI System Partition and Windows 8 operating system partition, is required by Windows 8. The larger Recovery Partition is the Lenovo created partition." When I look at my hard drive, it appears different to above document. These are the partitions I see from left to rightRecovery Partition - 1000MBEFI System Partition - 260MBOEM Partition - 1000MBWindows8_OS (C - 890.46GBLenovo D - 25GB Recovery Partition - 13.72 GB For recovery purposes, which partitions are used by Windows, and which by OneKey?I don't want to add or change partition sizes. I want to use Windows System Image backup on a regular basis.Windows System Image backup selection gives pre-ticked boxes to backup the EFI partition, the Windows8 C partition, and the WINRE_DRV (System) partition (1000MB) with a tick-box option to also include the D drive.Other than the C drive, does OneKey recover all the other partitions including the D drive, or do I need to include these all in my Windows System Image backup? The most important question I have, is what happens if my internal hard drive fails after several years (like it did on my previous DELL laptop). Answer:Disk Partitioning on Lenovo Z50-70 with Windows 8.1 and OneKey Recovery

First about the partiitons. Refer to this link. It described each particular partiition. From the link you gave the 13 GB space is the OKR recovery partition. To your Hdd the 13.72 GB labelled as Recovery Partition is the OKR Recovery partition. To be strict about these two partitions they are really user OKR backup storage partition. There are other partitions needed by OKR through the NOVO button. You should be able to see them using a third party partiition program like EaseUs Partition Manager. Second. As to your important question: "The most important question I have, is what happens if my internal hard drive fails after several years (like it did on my previous DELL laptop). I will hopefully have a good Windows System Image Backup, but with no recovery disks, if I wanted to purchase a new internal replacement hard drive, how can I get a copy of the essential OneKey partitions, to get to a state to recover my Windows System Image backup." Comment: If you made a system image or backup using Windows you will only get Windows when you restore. As to the OKR (Onekey Recovery) partitions you will not be able to restore them. If you made the backup using OKR then you will be able to restore them from the date you made the backup. This means updated OS plus programs you installed. This will only happen if the OKR partitions remain in place. So if you use a new hdd which does not  have the OKR partitions you will not be able to restore your OKR backup.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z470 that had Windows 7 Home Basic and upgraded itself to Windows 10.When I want to recover to the factory state with OneKey Recovery within Windows 10 the program says that there is an error and recommends reinstalling, but it is useless. If I want to recover externally with the NOVO button it boots with the standard Windows 10 recovery procedure and I can not take it to the original state.Could Windows 10 have changed anything? How do I fix it?Thank you

I am using a Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 under Windows XP.  Since the OneKey Recovery system on my computer has not worked properly (program check/blue screen each time I am trying a full backup of my system), I wanted to install a new version of that program to fix this problem. I downloaded the file "IN1OKR17WW1" from lenovo.com and double clicked on it. The program started and seemed to be preparing the installation wizard, when Windows XP sent me a message 'Please use the CONTROL PANEL to remove or modify system software'. The execution of the program stopped. So I started the control panel, selected the programs section and clicked on 'OneKey Recovery'. I was shown a prompt "Do you really want to remove this program?" Hesitantly I responded yes, hoping that the installation wizard would kick in afterwards and complete the installation of the new version. But after the removal of the old version of OneKey Recovery, nothing happened. So I have no OneKey Recovery on my system now. How can I install the newly downloaded version of OneKey Recovery to my system?

Answer:Problems Installing New Version of OneKey Recovery on my Ideapad S10-2 (Windows XP)

Hi! I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 710-14isk in France which comes with a charger known as "Wall charger" : this one http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/chargers-and-batteries/chargers/PWR-ADP-BO-65W... I'm moving to Canada next month for 2 years and I would like to know if this charger can be turned into a US / Canada charger by changing only the wall plug? It seams that the plug can be separate from the rest of the chaeger but I didn't find how.I didn't find on the lenovo store any plug to replace my french plug as well. Do you know if something like that exist and where I can find it?If not I guesss it's easier and cheaper to buy only a universal plug adapter, but since I'll stay in Canada for a long time, a proper integrated solution seems better for me ! Thank you for your help !

Hi everybody i hope you are all doing great. Laptop Details:Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop (Lenovo) 203784720hq512ssd960m16gb ram I made a clean install to my lenovo laptop so I lost some essential applications that came with my laptop. I installed almost all the drivers and apps at lenovo driver support download page without problems but i could not find some of lenovo apps that came in my laptop when i bought it and I really need them. The only one available in the driver download page were Lenovo energy manger. The most importants for me that i need are lenovo onekey recovery app and lenovo updates. For onekey recovery I only need the app, not the files to restore the whole partition, because the recovery partition is intact, I did not format it. So I only need the app that opens it. Th apps I want to get back are:1. Lenovo Onekey Recovery app - The one I am more interested in.2. "Lenovo Updates' (lenovo updates is the name of the app) The scond one im am more interested in.3. Lenovo Settings4. Lenovo companion If someone can guide me to where to download each of them, it would be great. I would need for windows 8.1 64 bit or windows 10. Thank You, I hope you can help me.

Answer:Where do I download Lenovo Y50 Onekey Recovery, Lenovo Settings. "Lenovo updates", Lenovo Companion?

Go to the Windows Store and do a search on "Lenovo."   You will find almost all the apps you need are available there.

Good day everyone,I just recently bought a new laptop which is a lenovo ideapad 110-14isk. When I booted it up, I noticed that it can't respond quickly so I opened task manager and saw that disk usage is always at 100%. Due to this, even shutting down takes a long time and seldom I force it to shut down because it is very unresponsive. I observed the laptop for a few days and found out that windows update was slowing it. I disabled the Windows Update Service, and when I rebooted it, the disk usage is at normal levels. So my question is, how can I update my laptop? and is there any way to use Windows Update without the laptop lagging? Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I am prepping a new Lenovo Yoga 13 for a user.  I want to create recovery DVD(s) for the new system with the OneKey Recovery software.  When I open the application there is no option to create media.  There are only a backup option and a restore option.  I called tech support and they advised if I attach a DVD drive the option to create media will appear.  I did this but no luck.....  I am attaching first a picture of what I see when I open One Key Recovery And secondly to show that I do have a usb DVD connected here is a picture of the DVD attached with a blank DVD inside it.  I have downloaded the lastest update to the One Key Utility and am running version:  8.0.0.1519.  Can anyone give any insight as to why the create recovery media isn't there for me?.....

I've seen solution to turn off private mode in Lenovo Settings but unfortunatelly Lenovo Setting has merged with Companion so no luck here. I will be gratefull for any advise before RMA. Thanks

I've been spending the last 3 days trying to setup onekey recovery. after tons of reading and even trying 7.0 engineering, there has been no result. Using 7.0 option 2 leads me to a disk error when it selects disk 0 which is the 24 gb ssd included in the laptop which I don't know the content. The original 1 TB HDD has been replaced by a 250 gb ssd. The seller migrated or mirrorred the data which now the onekey does not recognize. After failing with onekey, I then moved on to windows recovery. I tried using the windows way which is through the windows recovery utility. but reached some dead ends as well. First is making the recovery usb, the partition was not clickable. then I managed to make the partition clickable to be included by downloading windows enterprise evaluation and exporting the install.wim to become my img for use? I manage to get the program recovery to run but when I tried refreshing it ends with the program unable to refresh. I tried booting the usb and using the refresh button there and this leads me now to the message the drive your windows is installed is locked. tried bootrec /fixboot which leads to element not found. I also tried the use image option from the boot recovery but it says there is none when i also followed the custom image option process by windows This has been so frustrating that a simple process can become so complicated. Help anyone? please? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have a few questions - I have a Yoga 2 Pro: 1. I created a separate partition for my documents on the hard drive. If I use Lenovo OneKey Recovery will that destroy the partition? 2. Following Question 1, will the OneKey Recovery run successfully given the existence of said partition? 3. I assume that the OneKey Recovery image on the hard drive provided by Lenovo includes all their software (OneKey Recovery, Energy Manager, EasyCamera, etc). If I use the Windows 8 Reset feature will that software still be installed or will it be a completely clean OS - as if, for example, I were to acquire a windows 8 ISO and use that for installation? 4. Where the heck is my Windows 8 Product Key? Thanks in advance, - ice

By doing so, you lose support to their OKR software and you will need to pay them $ in the event that you need to reformat your computer to factory (using their disks). The product key comes pre-embedded in the Windows install. Unless you use a key extractor on your current install, you may lose your key for good since I doubt your OKR system works anymore.

Hi Forum, I have this Lenovo Y450 which was upgrade to Windows 7 32bit sometime back. It have hanged a couple of time (and each time the Windows cannot run anymore) and I had to reinstall Vista and upgrade to Windows 7 again because at that time I do not know how to use the Onekey Recovery yet. Right now I have downloaded the latest driver and software from Lenovo site including the OneKey Recovery 7.0. I realised that button Onekey shows it is OneKey Recovery 6.0.I hope it is compatible. Anyway, I found out that when I try to create a backup first using the Onekey Recovery 7.0, it stop half way and give an error message - PowerRecover has stopped working. At first everything was invisible, but every day more and more.I'm studying for a programmer and for me it was unpleasant. Most of all it was a pity that I chose the laptop because of the convenient keyboard. I writing in support, but they said, that I'm need to go to the service center. But he is 400 km away from me. They said, that I need to wait for evaluation and repair time. I can not afford it financially. Now I looked through many forums, this problem turned out only for me. It's very insulting.I know that you do not do such trifles. Just you last chance not to be disappointed in the purchase. Help me please. Thank you for attention!

Hi guys,  Got my yoga last month and it's been okay, bit slow to load from sleep but it's done the job. Only thing is its now in a permanent sleep mode. I've tried re-charging it from zero battery, hard reset, putting the lid up and down, combining that with hard reset too. what to do? Do I have to send it somewhere? Obviously I don't want to open the thing up, I'd rather leave that to a professional. cheers.

This is actually quite hot. Is it normal in this laptop? Are these temperatures safe to it? I was so scared by these temperatures that I've uninstalled that game from my laptop.

have taken the back off, but the ram appears to be under a metal silver shield with no obvious way in.
Anyone come across this before
There is nowhere else for the RAM to hide
Cheers

Answer:How to access RAM on Lenovo YOGA 510-14isk laptop

"...no obvious way in."
Why on earth Lenovo decided to armour-plate the RAM module in this way is beyond me - the cover serves no good purpose, and certainly doesn't act as an RF shield in any way.
The good news is that you can remove the metal cover quite easily. There are small metal clips along the side, and if you carefully pry these open with a suitable tool ( I have used a small flat-blade screwdriver) you will find that the cover can be opened without too much trouble, revealing the single RAM module.

My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?

Hi,I've just bought Lenovo YOGA 500-14ISK ( i7 8GB 500GB GF940-2GB) and I'm very disappointed with one problem - I've notice that  sometimes when I use keyboard, spacebar does not work correctly. After closer look, it appears that space does not work at all if I press it near its right edge (about 0,5 cm from the right edge of spacebar is a blind spot). It is typical flaw in that keyboard and all laptops of this model works like this, or it is only a problem with my unit and I should return it ?

Answer:Lenovo yoga 500-14ISK spacebar problem

No laptop should be like that. Most likely the stabiliser bar which runs underneath the spacebar (and other longer than normal keys) is not attached at one end. While probably easily fixed since it's under warrenty it's not worth risking anything so just have it fixed or exchanged.

Hello, I have a Yoga 500 14ISK purchased in December 2015. It runs Windows 10. It is failing all over the place. The power up is unreliable. Sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesn't. When it does boot it takes an age. It wont perform a system update of something to do with a "foundation". It merely hangs. And when I tried to check the BIOS I pressed the nova button with a paper-clip and the keyboard lights up but nothing happens. The little white light on the power button is lit but nothing is happening. I have a black screen and nothing else. Is there a major flaw in these laptops? The whole piece of kit looks great but the number of problems with it are unbelievable. How do I get this laptop working properly?

Answer:Yoga 500 14ISK Nova button does not work

Hi deanol ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The integrity on the One key recovery features upon access thru the Novo key may be the issue.
Best to initially run diagnostics to check further. This may explain why it failed booting at some time.

Have us updated on the results , just write down any error code as this may be needed by tech support for decoding.

The reason I decided to pesued this is that I work for a games company in the tech department and their games runs on laptops over 10 years old with specs that make the Yoga 700 look like a super computer.  What issue? Running the lenovo solutions centre hardware checker on and Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK will fail on the mathematical operations test. Why is this an issue? For normal use, this is not much of a problem, I have seen reports of other users black screening persistently but I have never personally experienced this issue. It's mostly an issue if you play games with graphical post processing such as ambient occlusion or anti aliasing. You will most certainly black screen a lot.  Dilema. if you're like me, you have tried to install all the graphics drivers under the sun with no prevail. Every time you check your graphics drivers' dates they insist they are up to date with the latest driver from the 18th of December 2015. We all know this is not the case. This is windows 10's handy dandy "KEEP EVERYTHING UP TO DATE AND STABLE" feature, which unfortunately is a double edged sword.  Solution! 1. You have probably just accepte... Read more

So, I've had some instances, where I'm doing something on my laptop, and then my computer screen suddenly blacks out for less than 1 second, and then turns on again. After that, I would get a notification that the Intel HD Graphics 520 driver on my PC has crashed and recovered. Then I decided to do a hardware scan, found that the Mathematical Operations Test in Video Card failed, and got the code WVC007002-UL7CAF. I thought the failure would be the cause. Therefore, how would I fix it?

Hello, I've had this lenovo yoga 710 for only a few months now and on multiple occasions, I've gone to open my camera/skype call, and I get a black screen, that says, "We Can't Find Your Camera". Now, I've read about a million posts about solutions to similar problems, but can't seem to get anything to work. When I go into "Device Manager", there are no camera drivers under "Imaging Devices" or "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers". So I looked it up, and everything I read says to go to the lenovo website, find the right camera driver for my specific computer, and download it. Well, I've tried that with a bunch of different camera drivers including the "AzureWave, Bison, Chicony, Liteon" one that is supposedly the right one for this computer, and after hitting "install" and "finish", I get a pop-up "error" message that simply says, "No device found". I've uninstalled and reinstalled lenovo "easycam", but it says the same thing -- "Can't find device", etc.Any suggestions would be awesome, I've only had this laptop for a few months and this has happened at least 4 or 5 times now and it's really becoming quite the aggravation when trying to video chat with family from college. Thanks in advance!

I'm using Lenovo G460, running on Windows 7. Recently my computer has been running pretty slowly so I decided to do a system restore with OneKey recovery 7. I selected the default backup option. However, the backup was stuck at 18% and then a popup told me that there was an error. I couldn't start Windows from there on. I need advices desperately I would appreciate any help. Fyi, I had back up discs(3parts) too, which I tried after the disaster happened but when the system does not recognize my back up discs.  What should I do now? Any options other than bringing my laptop to a repair shop?

Answer:Recovery disc not working, default recovery in OneKey Recovery does not work too

Hi helpmeleh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can we first check if the disc will load,
   Here's how.
Make sure that the First DVD is in the computer,
Turn OFF the computer, Turn it Back on and start tapping F12 to pull up the Boot selection Menu.
Try selecting the CD/DVD and press Enter.
See if this will let you load the CD and load the recovery.

If it will not push either,

A recovery CD from Lenovo Support center may help but before going with that option, You might want to have the HDD checked, Because the HDD slow read .write and a Recovery from OKR that gives an error is a symptom of an HDD failure.

If the computer still loads the old OS you can download a Lenovo Storage Test
or If the computer cannot currently load an OS you might want to bring the HDD to a local Technician to have it checked.

If the HDD is proven Defective then it needs replacement,
If the HDD is still OK then you can call Lenovo technical Team and ask how to obtain Lenovo CD. Fees may apply

Regards
Solid Cruver

Hello all, I'm new here so I need help with my laptop. I just bought this laptop last year and this few days, I can't seem to boot it. The windows boot manager is not booting giving me two errors, one is error code 0xc0000034 and another error code is 0xc0000185. I tried using the OneKey Recovery to do system restore but it says the partition has been damaged and cannot be restored. I did not do any partitioning to the hard drive besides the default C: and D: drives. I also tried using windows 8.1 USB drive (since the laptop doess not have ROM installed) to repair the window, but it doesn't work. I can't reset it nor refresh it nor system recovery. I don't understand what is wrong with my laptop. Can someone please help me and guide me on what should I do?

Hello, I used microsoft refresh to have a new clean windows 10 on that computer. I wanted to install last driver so I went to : this link even if all semms to work well. I've several questions : 1 - it seems there is some duplications with some drivers   for Bluetooth drivers : Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook, Bluetooth Driver (Liteon, Realtek, Broadcom) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook,    for wifi drivers : WLAN Driver (Liteon, Realtek, Broadcom) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook, Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook,) 2 - If I look on Intel Management Engine Interface Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook version, on the site, it's written ver. 11.0.0.1176 from 19/10/2016, but the preinstalled version actual in windows  10 on the laptop is version 11.5.0.1011 with date of 08/04/2016. Is it normal to have a higher version with a lower date? Could I base only on dates to choose which drivers to install? What do you advise me to do? Install all the drivers on the webpage? Thanks.

Hey there, I recenently got one of the Lenovo Notebooks of the Yogaseries, which exactly it is, is stated in the title. However, since yesterday I never had any problems with it, I really like it, the convertible function etc., but it seems, that my display registeres touches Im not applying, it touches like everywhere over my screen and I dont even have my hands on the computer. When I restart it or install the touchpad driver from the supportsection for my notebook, it is okay for like 10 mins and then it goes all over again. I found an interesting solution for a similar problem, its in this thread: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/documents/SF15-I0024 I have literally the same issue, problem is, the fix which is downloadable there, seems to only work for panels from LG, I figured out the hardware ID from my IPS panel, but I cant figure out where its factured or where I can get a fix for this issue. The ID is: MONITOR\  "CMN14B1" At the moments its okay but I always have this weird box right in the middle of my screen: https://abload.de/img/unbenanntdvscn.jpg Its always like that before it goes crazy like 5 minutes later, I think I have to restart soon again, its really annoying and I really cant do something like that. regards

YOGA 900 with Windows 10.

I've configured my system and used OneKey Recovery to create a system backup on an external drive.

The User Guide suggests a single image file is to be created using this process, but on my external drive I see a lot of files.... is that what it's supposed to look like?  It's not an ISO image or something similar???

Thanks!

Answer:Yoga 900 - OneKey Recovery question

Hi TGinAz, welcome to the forum.

When using an external drive, the files can only be copied into the file name "backup", and no other path can be specified on the file prompt. Pre-create a folder named "Y900OKR" (or what not   ) on your external drive, then browse to that folder on the backup prompt. The files will be backed up as a system image, in that folder. If you only specify the external drive for the backup, all the files are copied to the root of the drive. The OKR system backup contains a lot of individual files, and not one big file. My current OKR folder has 72 files, 18.8 GB.

You should also have a default D: drive recovery backup. This is for restoring the system to it's factory shipped condition, if your drive is still operational, and you only want to start over (or sell your machine). This restore will wipe out all of your user data, so make sure you have some other backup for this user data, before employing the D: factory restore.

     My backup plan includes:

1. OneKey Recovery on an external 2TB hard drive.
2. Monthly running the Control Panel > Backup and Restore (Windows 7) on an external drive, then maintaining an hourly File History on the same external drive.

Cheers

So I've run Intel's vulnerability detection tool on my laptop and it says this model (700-14ISK, model 80QD) is vulnerable. I've searched the Lenovo Security Advisory LEN-17297 but my laptop isn't listed at all let alone have an update to download. I've also looked up all downloads available for my laptop on it's support page and I did run the BIOS update available - however, after the update was completed, I ran the Intel tool again and it says the system is still vulnerable. When will a security update for this issue be available or where can I find it?Thanks,-Matt

After i upgraded to BIOS 2XCN30WW(V2.05) dated 2017/06/21 i started to experience lags and temporary freezes (for 20/30 seconds and it would recover) while using windows 10 creators edition. The lag/freeze can be described as a period of time every 10 minutes or so in which the computer stops responding to keyboard input and eventually to mouse movements, if you had a youtube video or audio playing in the background it starts coming out distorted, everything makes you think there is something hogging the CPU or RAM, it recovers itself after 20 or 30 seconds, sometimes less than that.I first blamed Slack Client but quickly found that it didn't have anything to do. It didn't seem related to load as the CPU/RAM usage in Task Manager remained low during these periods.I then blamed a recent Windows Update patch , which i rolled back prompty without noticing any changes. My last option and what ultimately resolved the issue is the rolling back the BIOS upgrade that i applied at about the same time of the windows patch.I enabled the Allow Back-Flash option in BIOS setup and rolled back to version 2XCN29WW, and the problem dissapeared for good, and just to confirm that the BIOS was to blame after a few days of happy computing i decided to give the new BIOS another try and TADAH! soon after the update the freeze/lags started again.I just wanted to share this with you guys in hopes that if you are having similar issues you can resolve them using this message. And since Lenovo doesn't seem... I have been suffering the, what seems common, screen flicker issue with my yoga 500 when on battery. After reading through some threads i discovered the problem was either, Drivers or Bios. After trying both drivers from lenovo themselves, and the latest from intel/nvidia the problem still remained.i then tried updating the bios. After windows shut down, the Phoenix bios updater stated a message that the bios had been sucessfully updated. The laptop then restarted and no longer posts or goes into windows. The Nova button also has no function and just causes the keyboard to illuminate and the fan to spins for 10 seconds before stopping.(Same as power button)Any advice?

Onekey version 8.0.0.0710 on Yoga 13 with Windows 8. Recovery does not allow recovery from external usb drives. 1. Why allow the backup to an external drive if you can't recover from an external drive?2. Drive D: is too small to store backup and copying backup to drive C: will not work either as a recovery will wipe that out.

I need to backup my system after all the new installation but somehow can't find the onekey recovery in the new thinkpad yoga. Why the thinkpad yoga doesn't come with onekey recovery? Also I downloaded and installed onekey recovery version 8.0.0.1219 but when I tried the system backup it said "Current system can not support back up". Am I missing something here? Has anyone able to back up their thinkpad yoga? Any information will be appreciated.

Answer:Can't find the onekey recovery in my thinkpad yoga?

Hi Jeng,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to inform that One key recovery is supported only by a certain set of ThinkPads. Most of the ThinkPads are designed to work with a set of tools called the ThinkVantage toolbox which includes Lenovo Solution center or rescue and recovery that helps the users to take data backup.

You can download the above mentioned software?s from here.

?Current system cannot support backup? error while trying create a system backup using the One Key Recovery application appears if the computer is not shipped with OS or if it is a DOS machine and the One Key Recovery application is installed. If the computer came with pre-installed Windows and if any changes is made in HDD (Hard Disc Drive) this error will occur as the normal functionality will be affected.

Hope this clarified your query!

Best regards,
Mithun.
