I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer:yoga 900... USB Type-C to HDMI Adapter

Hello and welcome,

If you mean HDMI, I realized I hadn't ever checked if the sound works.  Just plugged it into my Samsung TV.  Got a movie playing now and sound works fine.

This is the adapter I'm using.  There are others but this one is working for me.

Having an issue with my X1 Yoga  riinning Win10 64-bit and all firmware & drivers are up to date. I often plug in an HDMI screen to my machine and when I do and step away for a few mins the screen goes blank to save power etc. When I return and click these or hit a key the backlight on the laptop comes back on but no image is displayed on either the laptop nor the HDMI monitor. If I unplug the HDMI cable then the laptop screen comes back perfectly and then I can plug the HDMI back in and get the image back on my larger monitor. This seems much different issue then the "blank screen" I read up on and appears to be a detecing from sleep state issue in the driver etc. Anyone else have this? Any fixes for this as I'm plugging the HDMI in/out/in 5 times a day or more... This never occured in the past so appears to be an update issue.

Connecting my new Lenovo Thinkpad yoga to an external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD) with the mini-HDMI port to the HDMI port in the monitor, results in very bad display quality: text is fuzzy, edges, lines and text seems with white halo, as if this is not the native resolution of the screen (the screen native resolution is 1920x1080 and this is indeed the resolution I use). When connecting my old X220 to the same screen, but with a VGA to VGA cable, I get excellent display. What's going on?

I am using a usb-c to hdmi adapter to output to a TV but the black levels look washed out. I had no issues with the same TV and a previous laptop that had a dedicated hdmi port. In the intel graphics settings usually there is a "quantization range" setting to change color space between RGB Limited and RGB Full if the intel graphics is driving the hdmi port. However, in this case, there is no hdmi port but instead a usb-c to hdmi adapter, thus the quantization range setting is missing. I've had the same issue before on a previous laptop with usb-c. I've tried installing thel atest drivers, including the non-validated ones from the intel website, but none give me the quantization range setting.

After running Windows updates, the Intel HD Graphics adapter has an error which takes out the use of multiple screens either through the HDMI out or USB 2.0.  I have tried disabling and re-enabling the adapter, uninstalling and re-installing the driver.  Searched on Intel and Lenovo sites for a driver that will work with no luck.  The only thing I have found to work so far is restoring to before the updates were ran - which only last so long until the updates run again. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey guys, i got my Lenovo Y410p about 2 momths ago and i have been enjoying it since then and it has been awesome, until i decided to hook it up to my TV via HDMI.
The quality when viewing in HDMI is really bad, but when i use the VGA cable or RGB as my TV calls it, its color is just fantastic.
My TV is a 1080p display. LG 22 inch, model number : 22MN42A.
I'm pretty certain it's not from the tv nor HDMI cable as i have tried it on the 2 other LG TVs in my house. A 32 inch one and a 42 inch one. Same issue. All are 1080p displays. however, on the 32 inch one, i noticed that when resolution was set to 1360x768 it was good. When bumped up to 1920x1080 it becomes all fuzzy and dificult to use.
I have attached two photos below showing what i mean. These photos are on my 22 inch TV/Monitor as that is the one dedicated to my laptop. I bought it solely as a monitor for my laptop. Also, please forgive my camera if anything gets pixelated, as i'm shooting with my Note 3 and not a professional cam.

You can even notice the letters when using HDMI, they look very bad. Please provide me with a solution if you guys can. I really prefer to use HDMI.
I have also reset the picture settings on my tv and still no use. Tried 'Just Scan' option too, nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an LG tv too and i had to fix it with "horizontal and vertical align" (sorry i don't know if is this the name in english, i have my tv in spanish). I think is not a HDMI's laptop problem, because I had to use this menu with my other computer.  Oh.. I found this function activating the "expert profile" in image settings.  Sorry for my english, long time without use it here in Barcelona

Hi folks, I recently connected my Yoga via HDMI to my Samsung 40" TV. Unfortunately, the picture quality is not as good as using my old T61 via VGA connected to my TV. The picture via HDMI on my TV has some kind of "shadows" all around edges of everything. I use an Amazon Basics HDMI cable that is capable of 3D and Ethernet over HDMI - I think this cable should be ok. Does anybody else faced problems with the picture quality of the Yoga on a TV via HDMI before?

I purchased an external monitor on Friday.  It worked on Friday and Saturday. Sunday when I booted up, the external monitor no longer worked. The history appears to show an automatic update occurred overnight.  I was running Windows 8.1.  I upgraded to 10.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the intel video driver, I reinstalled the chipset driver.  I have trimmed the micro HDMI cord as suggested in one of the posts.  I have seen enough posts on the various boards to know my issue does not seem to be an isolated case... but I haven't been able to find an explanation of the cause or a reliable solution.  Any help is appreciated.

I fought this problem all day and I think I have it narrowed down. System is Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with Windows 10 with all latest updates. Application is Citrix Receiver 4.5. When using Quickbooks with the Citrix Receiver, mouse clicks are disabled/not recognized.  All keyboard inputs still work, the mouse arrow tracks correctly, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored.  This behavior occurs when booting to dual monitor setup with HDMI adapter in the USB Type-C port; booting to single monitor (Yoga), then plugging the HDMIR adapter in the USB Type-C port.  The only resolution is to boot to single monitor (Yoga) and work in single monitor mode exclusively.  I am using the USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor purchased from Lenovo.  This occurs with the Yoga trackpad AND occurs with my USB wireless mouse. Also note with native Windows applications, the mouse works fine with both  monitors connected and active. I really bought the HDMI adaptor to use two monitor with the Citrix Receiver.  I have tried to Google this problem, but I'm unable to find a Citrix Receiver support site/forum that would be appropriate for this question. Any advice appreciated.

I have an XPS 12 9250 with an external Dell Adapter USB Type C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 470-ABQN.  This adapter is working for Ethernet and VGA, but the USB port is not working.  I suspect that I need the correct drivers installed.  When I plug in my windows phone or my android phone, both devices show that they are charging, but windows 10 does not indicate that it sees the devices.  If I plug in an external keyboard to the adapter's USB port, windows 10 does not react, and the keyboard lights do not come on (keyboard works fine on 2 other computers).
So, I'm pretty sure I've installed all the latest drivers that are listed on support.dell.com for the xps 12 9250, but it's hard to tell as there seem to be scores of them.
Is anyone else having this problem?  Can anyone tell me which specific drivers I need to get USB working?  Thank you

Dear community,

maybe you can help. I just made aquisition of a thinkpad yoga S1 (DXdiag here attached) DxDiag TP-Yoga S1.txt

I am very happy with it, except when I want to use an external display with the mini-HDMI-VGA dongle delivered by Lenovo:

The extended desktop on this external display is quite bad quality. This is happening on different external monitors which are very good when attached to my other computer.

What problem can it be? Graphic card? Dongle? driver?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Elwood

Answer:Bad display quality on externel screen / Thinkpad Yoga S1

I'd say the dongle is where you want to start. Have Lenovo send you a new one. You've already demonstrated that it's not the monitor, so that leaves items supplied by Lenovo and you'll have a significantly easier time getting them to agree to send you a dongle that probably costs them very little to produce compared to anything else. Plus it's easier for you to test and the most likely scenario to fix your issue. If there were something wrong with the GPU on the unit, you'd expect it to affect the internal display as well as external and do so equally/uniformly. The driver idea is possible, but highly unlikely, but if there's an updated driver and you want to install it while waiting for a new dongle to show up, knock yourself out.

I have a Yoga Pro 3 I purchased here in the US a couple of months ago.  This summer I'll be moving to Moldova (eastern Europe) with the Peace Corps and plan to take my Yoga with me. Moldova has 220-240V Type C power outlets.  Ideally, I'd like to purchase a power adapter for my Yoga that is already configured with a Type C plug.  The US Lenovo customer service staff can't seem to tell me if I can buy one. I know Germany also uses Type C but I don't see the option to buy the 40W power adapter on their site. The below adapter is available on the UK site but I'm not sure UK adapters are compatible with Type C outlets:http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/gbweb/LenovoPortal/en_GB/catalog.workflow:item.detai... Does anyone out there who travels to Europe or owns a Yoga Pro 3 in Europe have any tips on buying a native adapter?  If I need to use a convertor I will... I'm just trying to cut down on the accessories I have to carry with me.

Answer:Yoga 900-13ISK: No image on second monitor using USB-C to HDMI adapter

I have connected via the USB type C adapter to a Dell U2410. However the connection appears to be intermittent, as if port requires a timing response peridically to maintain the connection. It appears as a loss of HDMI connection on the monitor approx. 1/minute (for a about 2-3 seconds), then recovers without intervention.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... I have 2 TVs currently serving as my screens. I've lately been helping family and friends fix small issues on their computers. I've come across a few PCs that have only a VGA Display Port, while both of my screens only have HDMI ports.
I asked someone at a local parts store, if a wire that is VGA male one side and HDMI male the other, would do the job. He told me in long detail why that would never work, that I needed a signal converter to change the display signal.
Basically he said when adapting a VGA screen to a HDMI port was possible, and the reverse (HDMI screen to VGA port in pc) is not.

My question is, if I bought the cord linked below, would I have to do anything else other than just plugging it in? Or do I indeed need this converter I was told about?

Thanks in advance

Answer:VGA to HDMI Display Adapter

You will need a signal converter of some type. A simple wire cable with different connectors on each end will not work. A VGA output has three analog video signals. An HDMI input expects all digital signals.

I'm having some issues connecting my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro notebook running Windows 8.1 to a brand-new Acer G227HQL LCD display, via an Insignia Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable.  I simply cannot get any signal from the notebook to the display.  However, after taking a look in Windows' Device Manager, the display appears under the Monitors category as an additional Generic PnP Monitor; and similarily disappears when the cable is unplugged from the notebook. This leads me to believe it may be an issue with the drivers.  I've done a bit of troubleshooting, all of which has been fruitless.  I've performed some troubleshooting prior to posting, which I will detail below. I've tested the connection using multiple displays.  Shortly after connecting the notebook to the display, a generic "No Signal Detected" message appears and the display subsequently enters power-saving mode.  I've tested another LCD display -- an LG Flatron W2353V using the same Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable, and similarily no signal was detected. The Micro-HDMI adapter is firmly connected to the port on the notebook.  After trawling through this support forum, it seems that there was an issue/defect with the Yoga 2 Pro's rubberized body impeding or otherwise completely inhibiting a firm connection.  This was not the case in my scenario, but regardless I filed about 2mm from the end of the Micro-HDMI end of the cable.  This unfort... Answer:S5-371 dual display issue with type-c adapter

The end of the M$ note says "The hardware and software on the system, the device or adapter, or cable does not support the DisplayPort /DockPort or MHL alternate modes." Now since a regular USB port works (2.0 even) for DisplayPort that leaves MHL. Maybe you need one of these.

Hey everyone,

PC Info:
Windows 10 Genuine
Intel i7 4790k
NVidia GTX 980ti
8GB RAM 1600
128GB SSD Boot
480GB SSD for games
1TB HDD @7200rpm for movies

I recently purchased a Display port to HDMI adapter for my PC. I did this because my TV (SONY XBR55X930D) displays 4k HDR and I want to take advantage of its ENHANCED HDMI setting. Now, when I hook the Display port end of this adapter into the 980ti and then plug the HDMI into the adapter for my TV I get video and support for ENHANCED HDMI, however, I receive no audio output whatsoever. I'll run DOOM 2016 I get video @4k but nothing for audio. Can't hear a thing whether its a movie, streaming audio through SoundCloud...nothing. I'm told that there should be support for audio with these adapters.

Is this not the case? Am I missing a setting?

I've done some research but am having difficulty finding a solution.

I am using HDMI 2.0a cables that support HDCP 2.2.

This is the adapter I purchased:

My ThinkPad laptop computer does not have an HDMI port, so in order to connect my computer to my HDTV I use an adapter plug which accepts an HDMI cable male plug (from my TV) and then plugs into my a/v display port. I've gone thru a few of these adapters because for some reason they tend to develop connection problems, like loss of the audio portion, or whatever. The current plug is shorter than my previous ones and less likely to get bent, but all of a sudden I've lost the audio transfer again and when I went to unplug and replug the adapter to make sure the connection was secure I found it was very hot. I don't recall it ever being that hot before....some heat, yes, but this was very hot. Not a good sigh....eh?

When this same audio loss has occurred in the past, unplugging and replugging the adapter has worked, turning the TV off and back on again has solved the problem on some occasions, other times it took restarting the computer. And then on some occasions the loss of TV audio was due to my receiver input setting getting accidently altered (I run my TV audio thru my receiver and into a Dolby surround sound speaker system). Yoga 2 Pro won't display on External Screen (thru micro HDMI): Did Lenovo ever respond to this? If there was a Lenovo-specific micro HDMI that Lenovo would sell me that would fix this, I'd happily buy it. Otherwise, I am going to have to toss this Lenovo because the 13" screen is not feasible for the work I do, and I will warn other people that this issue makes the lenovo not a feasible product for work.

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro won't display on External Screen (thru micro HDMI)

I'm able to output using an Amazon brand micro-HDMI to HDMI cable. It is giving me performance and screen jumping issues, but I'm just getting started on troubleshooting that.

I just recieved my Yoga 2 Pro but I cannot get it to display out the micro HDMI port.  I want to extend my desktop to a Samsung 24 inch monitor (S24C750P) but it won't work.  The monitor acts like there is something connected to it and windows claims to have detected the monitor and the appropriated resoulutions (EDID), but i see nothing but a blank screen.

I know my cable and monitor work well.  They are both brand new and I have been using them with multiple other computers just fine.

Anyone else experience this?  Any suggestions? Any fixes?

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro won't display on External Screen (thru micro HDMI)

I have done more troubleshooting and found out that if I push and lift the cable plugged into the micro hdmi port on the Yoga 2 Pro then I get a video connection.  It seems that the female hdmi port on the laptop is quite recessed.  I am using a new RocketFish micro hdmi to hdmi cable (RF-AP316).  It seems like the cable male plug is not long enough to fit in the female port (some women have big problems with this).  The bezel of the plug is absolutely flush with the side of the labtop unlike the usb and power plugs that "bottom out" in their female connectors and show a slight space between the bezel of the plug and the side of the laptop.  IT seems that he micro hdmi male plug is not bottoming out in the female port which is preventing a good connection.  This seems like it could be a design flaw with the laptop as I believe most cables will have this problem.  But if I apply vertical pressure to the plug it gives me the video on the monitor.  The new Yoga 2 Pro has a ruberized material around the sides of the laptop to provide good grip and protection when in stand mode etc, and this is what creates the space between the port and the plug.  I will try to go buy another cable but have little faith it will work.  Worth a try though.  Will post my findings.

Hello, I am attempting to use the mini display port outpt on the Thinkpad Yoga14 to connect to an HDMI monitor using a miniDP to HDMI adapter. I've tried two different adapters. The monitor is never recognized. However, the mini-display port will work with a miniDP to DVI or miniDP to VGA adapter cable (I verfied this at a store where there were multiple cables and monitors to use).

miniDP to HDMI: does not work
miniDP to DVI: works
miniDP to VGA: works

But when i connect lenovo carbon x1 to tv with this adapter - it's work.   I install newest drivers on intel HD Graphics and nVidia Graphics.

Answer:t430 no video on the adapter mini display port to hdmi

Hi Yuriy_volkovsky,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing an issue with No Video output from Mini display port on your ThinkPad T430.

Please go to BIOS and under Config menu go to Display option go to Graphics Device and check if Graphic Optimus is enabled, then boot the system and check if OS (Operating System) detection for Optimus is enabled in graphic properties.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

Answer:Using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, doesn't support HDMI

That means that Win10 has not installed the correct drivers for your video chip, so it has installed the generic drivers, instead.

You need to post here what video chip you are using -- AMD, Nvidia, etc.

Answer:Can't Project My Yoga to TV w/ HDMI or MS Wireless Display after Windows 10 Upgrade

When I saw your message, I realized that I have not yet tried to project to my Netgear PTV3000 wireless display adapter, connected to my Samsung 55" UN55B8500 HDTV, after upgrading to Windows 10 Pro more than a week ago. I've had my Yoga 2 Pro for about 17 months and it initially worked well projecting to the PTV3000. However, after a month or so, it stopped working completely under Windows 8.1 and I could never get it to work again. After seeing your message, I decided to try it with Windows 10. To my total surprise, it is working perfectly once again. I did a "clean" upgrade to Windows 10 and have installed all of the latest Lenovo drivers and the latest Intel graphics driver (version 10.18.15.4256) which was installed automatically during the upgrade. It's great to have it working again. I wish you luck in getting your "projection" working again. So far I'm very pleased with the upgrade to Windows 10 Pro even though I had a hell-of-a-time doing the upgrade. I was forced to do a complete factory reset and add all of the Windows 8.1 updates (which took well over a full day) in order to get the upgrade to proceed.

This is my second yoga 920. The first one is fine, luckily mine has no problem. Best Buy has Star Wars edition with 4k screen, 16gb and 512 gb for a decent price. I got my exchange laptop and everything is fine. I didn't use my first 920 too much but I installed Wacom Pen as I need to use active pen 2 for note taking. Wacom Pen is very helpful as you can edit each buttons. My new 920 can't install it however. The program will stop at 99% and touchscreen will not work. What's worse, I can't restart or shut either.  I contacted Lenovo customer service and by no mean they are (yes, I contact them 3 times) so impatient and unprofessional. The first person said that to be a software problem and asked me to talk to their software support, which will charge a fee. I said no as I can use it before and the only differences between 2 yoga 920s are hardware upgrade I denied that to be a "software problem". Before talking to a real person you have to fill up a survey. In Inquiry Options you can choose "how to configure". I really wonder for a 2-in-1 laptop what does "configure" mean. Can that be a hardware configuration issue? I doubt it. Still they refused to provide any solution and force me to contact their software support team. Seems like today only one guy are on duty as I opened two windows and the same person replied to me. At the first 30 minutes he didn't answer me with any word and then replied every 10 minutes. After knowing my problem, he said to hel... Read more

Today is the day I decide to say goodbye to my yoga 920 and Lenovo, well, maybe just bye because it's not good at all. As I have posted days ago, I had a problem with my yoga 920 link. I tried to solve it by myself, Lenovo, IT support team from my university, and finally Geek Squad. Nobody can really solve it. Being tired of Lenovo's disappointment I return my yoga 920 and get a counterpart from HP. Yoga 920 is not just an upgrade of yoga 910. It's a combination of numerous brilliant ideas. But Lenovo is making the effort of designers in vain.  One of the most popular posts in this forum these days it complaints about yoga 920's quality control. As my laptop has a different problem, I prefer not to talk too much about that. I want to say something about user experience among software and customer service. As I mentioned in my last discussion, Lenovo is having a big issue listening to its customers. Making a good product doesn't mean you can achieve a great success in selling. You also need to provide same level software support to your customer. While programs like Lenovo Vantage are rarely used by normal customers, they are mean to develop some more practical software. In my shoes, a software that I can customize Active Pen2 would be appreciated.  It's not done with that. Just let me talk a little bit about customer service. I took some effort to find way to chat with Lenovo online. I personally prefer to chat online so that you c... Read more

I just purchased an adapter plug that allows me to connect my Lenovo/IBM thinkpad (T420) to my HDTV by plugging the HDMI cord into my TV and the other end to this adapter plug which converts the HDMI cable into a male plug which fits into my display port (there is no HDMI port on this model computer). It worked, but now I can't remove the adapter plug...it's stuck in the laptop display port. I do not know if the problem is caused by the male adapter plug or the female jack in the computer, but they're locked together now.

I have previously read review comments (on these HDMI/display port adapter plugs) mentioning this jamming happening on more than a couple occasions, but I don't recall any resolutions being mentioned except to break off (and destroy) the plug and possibly damage the display port as well. I called Lenovo tech support but they said I'd have to mail the computer to them to get it fixed. I'd prefer avoiding that if possible even though my warranty is still in effect and it would be of no cost to me.....just time lost without a computer.

I'd greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who may be aware of how to resolve this problem (and also how to avoid it happening again) without doing damage to either the plug or especially the computer display port.

Thanks for your consideration in any case....

Hi All I am in need of assistance.
I have a new Dell 17r inspiron laptop that only has hdmi output.
I have projectors that connect with VGA port only.
I purchased hdmi to vga adapters and when I connect to the laptop the image will jump from the laptop to the projector and jump back to the laptop and it will continue to do this over and over.
There are no error messages. on either. These are working projectors. These are new hdmi/vga adapters.
I have tried to change resolution to lower settings and I have tried to lower refresh rates. The projector can support all of what resolutions the laptop has for settings thus the image does show for a second on the projector. These are smartboard/projector 600 series. I have also tried swapping our the adapters that didn't work either. I have also tried making the resolution settings shutting down laptop , connect the hdmi/vga adapter and turn the laptop back on and the issue is still the same. I can't find any posts/forums on this issue to date.

Thanks,
C0v3r

Answer:HDMI to VGA adapter connected to laptop to a project image jumps from laptop to projector and back and forth

C0v3r,
I am not aware of any issues with the 17r using external monitors.   I would suggest trying to narrow down the problem and go from there.   I certainly understand that you may not have all the devices present but if you do I would try to verify if this is problem with HDMI on the notebook, a problem with the adapters, or the monitors.
Basic steps, try running the notebook under power saving or high performance in the Nvidia control panel. The system is  an optimus and it would be interesting to find if the problem only occurs with the integrated Intel GPU (power saving) or the Nvidia GPU (high performance).  If you aren't familiar with configuring Optimus the following document may help.
Uninstall and reinstall video drivers.  Download the latest Intel and Nvidia video drivers for your model of notebook from support.dell.com. Download the drivers and save them to the desktop, please don't install them yet.  Uninstall the Intel and Nvidia driver and software from the system and reboot.  Now install the drivers, with the Intel driver first, followed by the Nvidia driver.
If possible connect the notebook to a HDMI monitor, something that doesn't require the use of any adapters and see if the problem continues.  Verify if the HDMI ports is working at all on the notebook.
If it looks like video is working fine on the notebook, and HDMI works well. Test the HDMI to VGA adapters.  If possible try them on ... Read more

Not sure if this is solvable, but any ideas would be welcome.A couple of weeks back I cleaned up my laptop to try to improve its performance.I removed some unwanted stuff, including earlier restore points, and ran ccleaner on the machine, registry etc.Since then the quality of images on the internet is less detailed than before. It only happens when when browsing the web, it's the same on IE, Chrome and Firefox. I do not have a problem when looking at things on the laptop itself eg my pictures.I checked all the control panel display settings, they look correct to me.I tried doing a system restore, but as I had removed earlier restore points during the cleanup, the earliest one I could restore to did not cure the problem.Any ideas please?

When I boot up without a connection to an external monitor I experience some display issues with text sizing of certain objects within certain applications (e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio).  In these applications parts of the User Interface display perfectly.   Other parts of the same application will have vastly oversized objects and text.  And, in another application the text is greatly undersized in certain portions of this app. When I boot up while connected to an external monitor everything displays perfectly on the external monitor.   This happens without making any changes whatsoever to system display setting or application configuration settings.  If I disconnect the external monitor the X1's internal monitor still displays everything perfectly.   But if restart while disconnected from an external monitor I experience the same display issues as described in the 1st paragraph. I don't think this problem was always there, but  I cannot say for sure.  It just got so annoying that I finally decided to write to the forum today.   I would guess that the problem has been this way for 1-2 months. The Lenovo System Update app tells me that everything is up to date.    Is there some setting or perhaps driver that needs to change? Tim

After installing these drivers the display on the X1 Yoga remains black and is unsuable when docked or undocked; however external monitors are functional. Any ideas on what is causing this? The OneLink+ dock is also at the latest driver/firmware. Rolling back to the previous version resolved the issue, but I continue to still have the random black, white and/or gray blocks that randomly appear within the Office Suite. I was hoping the 21.20.16.4505 Display Drivers would help with this. Thanks

Hi, I recently bought a Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Machine Type 80R5 and have used it extremely rarely. I would say I've used it at a maximum of 30-40 hours. I have had some problems with the laptop but nothing that made it completely un-usable until now. On turning on the machine, the network wireless adapter acts strangely, often showing the airplane mode symbol in the task bar. I may or may not be able to connect to my Wifi network but less than 2 minutes later the entire Wifi adapter disappears from the OS, no longer having Wifi settings or being able to configure the Adapter via device manager. I've been told a fix for this may be turning the wireless off and on again via the BIOS but I can't figure out how I access it, considering the first screen I see is the loading symbol for Windows 10. Anyone got any advice? Harrison

Sometimes the message says connect a Dell 45w adapter or higher. That is what I use. It's the original adapter. I've also received a message to use a 35w adapter. Sometimes it tells me to press F1 if I want to continue anyway.
Any suggestions?

Answer:Inspiron 7352 laptop AC power adapter type cannot be determined

First thing to try is a new OEM Dell AC adapter.  If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the DC power jack:

And if that doesn't solve the problem, replace the mainboard.

When I connect to my LCD TV via HDMI cable I see the desktop and can play standard DVDs however HD DVDs show on laptop but not on TV.The controls of the Acer Arcade Deluxe software can be seen on the TV but I get a purple square where the film should be. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone!
I am not sure where else to post this so if this i the wrong area please let me know and I can put it in the correct location.

So I have an MSI laptop, I have used it for the past couple months via HDMI on either a TV in my room, or through a receiver to a TV in the living room.

The other day I had unplugged it without turning it off. (The battery is ruined on it so it needs to be plugged in to be on/doesn't hold a charge).

So the next day I go to put it on my TV, and it says that it is 'searching for signal' on the TV.
In the display options on the laptop, it does not show 2 monitors.
When I switch inputs on the TV it recognises there is in something on HDMI 1, but it just keeps saying 'searching for signals'. If I switch the cable to HDMI 2, it picks it up that something is hooked up, but I still get the same message.

I tried to screw around a little bit yesterday as well as read and try and find out the solution but I could not.

Has anyone experiences this? Do you know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have an Insignia TV that I have hooked up to my ideapad U530 via brand new HDMI cable.  No matter what, my laptop will not send out a signal or detect that there is even a second display.  I've been posting on a computer support forum, but that has not really gone anywhere. What is the issue?  Why can I not get this to work?

Answer:Laptop will not recognize an HDMI or that there is a second display

After You plug in the HDMI right click on the desktop, click screen resolution. Does monitor 1 and 2 show up in this window? Try clicking detect. Let me know so I can help you further.

I just received my package of VGA to HDMI cable but it does not seem to work with my laptop which has a VGA port and LCD TV which has the HDMI port. I am not able to export my display of my Laptop to the TV. A 'No Signal' box moves around on the screen of the TV.

Laptop Details - Toshiba Tecra A11
Core i5 - Intel integrated graphics HD

LCD TV - Dynex 32" LCD HDTV

Any idea on getting the Laptop VGA display exported to the HDMI TV?

Answer:Export display from laptop(VGA) to TV(HDMI)

I just received my package of VGA to HDMI cableClick to expand...

is this just a cable - if so then it will not work
you need a converter to turn the analogue VGA signal into a Digital HDMI signal
where did you purchase the cable

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?
