Preferred Solution: Operation System Not Found ( not a typo )

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Operation System Not Found ( not a typo )

Are you creating the recovery USB on a different PC?
I hope so.

Hello, I'm not sure if I am in the right section or not, but I don't think this is maleware or a virus.
At the startup of my computer. I get a black screen with white text saying "Operation System Not Found" it is "OPERATION" and not "OPERATING". I first found this problem after a windows update. Its not an issue getting into my computer since all I have to do is hit the enter button on the keyboard and the laptop acts like nothing happened. Whats going on? Its a little annoying getting this message, and it some what scares me that something will happen to my computer. I feel like the startup is a bit slower, but nothing major. What can I do to fix this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I had the computer for a little over then a month. Heres some specs.

L702x will not boot LINUX from a GPT partitioned diskWelcome braze -The only issues that I can find relating to your exact problems are all headed with a "similar quote" to the above one. These are all on the Dell Forum, and as yet not one of them has come up with a solution to that message.Searching for "Operation System Not Found" returned nothing until I added your Dell model into the search also, and this only returned 2 related items. After the Dell people also attempted to resolve this, they had no solution at the end.Can you add a bit more information (if known) such as the suspect update, have you done a System Restore in an attempt to fix it, and how long have you had this -Thank You -

I am using Dell XPS15 L502X laptop and have and intermittent problem--Error:'Operation system not found' after the DELL splash screen... (never seen this error before..not even on google!). After several tries it successfully boots into windows. Even if does get into windows it randomly freezes for 2-4 seconds and works again regardless of what I am doing in windows. Tried HDD and RAM diags,,they passed. debugged and formatted HDD and did a clean reinstall of the OS (win7 64bit).Reseated the HDD. Flashed BIOS. Still the problem keeps on re appearing. Any idea what might be wrong?

Answer:Error:Operation system not found

What antivirus software do you have? Or maybe a bad processor, if it overheated a lot? Download HWmonitor and keep an eye on the processor temps, try not to get anything over 65 degrees Celsius.

So I was browsing around in Windows Defender (Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Defender > Open Windows Defender Security Center > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings, then scroll down to Controlled folder access.)

The sentence "Protect your files and folders from unauthorized changed by unfriendly applications" has a typo in it.
(Refer to the attached picture)

? The word "changed" has a typo in it and should be the word "changes" (with an 's' instead of a 'd'), or
? There is at least one missing word in between the words "unauthorized" & "changed"
Somebody should inform Microsoft about this typo.

But Also: I noticed that this is a new option, since the last time I was browsing around in there. What does this option exactly do? It was originally off, but I turned it On. Yet I must say that I have seen a few messages pop up in the right corner of the screen, stating that Windows Defender blocked some programs from making changes. One of them showed explorer.exe from modifying the Favorites folder without me doing anything with Favorites. Exactly what does this option do? Is it kind of like some sort of strict "Firewall"? Because if so, then I like that.

Answer:HAH, I Found A Typo In Windows!

Mine says 'unauthorised' (but then it should in the UK) - still has the typo though

Blocks access to your files and documents by unknown apps (malware/ransomware). It's off by default because not all 'good' apps are in it's 'trusted' list. It takes a bit of fiddling to get all your apps to work after you turn it on.

Hi, I have an Inspiron 7737 laptop, I've been struggling for a long time with Win 10 upgrade and now I've done it.  I can't claim to be anything but a novice.
The upgrade didn't work, constantly got hung up at 82% or so and gave error 0x80004005.  Tried over and over.
So, I decided, let's do the clean install.
Created boot USB from Windows Media Player, created DVD also.
Yes, the USB drive is FAT32 file system.
Changed boot order in UEFI with USB at top of list.  Disabled secure boot.
Repeatedly tried to boot from USB, never worked.
So, changed to Legacy in boot menu based on some comments online, this is where I really did it.
Now, when turning on computer I get "Operation System not Found".  When I hit F2, return, it just goes back to the Operation System not Found.  When I hit F12, it does nothing.
I have tried to restart several times using the USB, nothing different.  Tried DVD, no better.  Tried in every USB port.  Tried with both DVD and USB connected, nothing.
The computer just won't read from the USB drive.  How can I get it to read from the USB or DVD to install Win 10?

I have a HP dv9920us.
A month ago I upgraded to win7 from vista. Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when returning from work I found a black screen and an error message " no operating system found".
No attention paid since I thought that my hdd went bad. So got a new one installed it but got the same message.
So went into BIOS and saw that no hdd was detected.
My laptop has 2 sata ports so I changed port and to my relive BIOS recognized my hdd in this 2nd port leading me to believe that the first port had gone bad.
I did a clean win7 install. Everything went fine. Installed drivers etc no problem.
During the first boot after and right after the post message the laptop just suddenly shut down and rebooted and then shut down again just after the post message. This loop went on for a couple of times and finally ended to a black screen with the message " no operating system found".
Checked the BIOS again and the hdd was there.
Booted the machine with the installation dvd in the drive this time and after the same loop for a couple of times (boot-post message- shut down- reboot ) instead of going to the no "operating system found" it continued and loaded win7.
I've performed every possible test that I know for checking memory, hdd etc and everything looks good.
The bottom line is that now the only way that I can use my laptop is to boot it with the installation disc in and it loads and works perfectly.
If I try to boot it witho... Read more

After trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1 on my Inspiron 7000, my Windows install would freeze during the start up process - the Dell logo would appear and the loading icon would stop. I had Linux installed on a separate partition so I went into the BIOS and moved Ubuntu ahead of Windows - this was the mistake. After exiting, I get the error message "Operation System not found". When I start up, I see the options F2 Setup and F12 Boot Options, however I cannot access either - the text will become bolded to show that I have selected it but I always get brought to the same screen which says "Operation System not found".
Any ideas on how to proceed? I don't mind losing the files and folders on the device, I just want to be able to use the laptop again.

Answer:"Operation System not found" error message on Inspiron 7000

It looks like the MBR or GPT that tells the BIOS/UEFI where to start booting has been messed up.  If you created restore media before upgrading to Windows 10, I'd use that and start all over.  If not, you can go here to download or order your recovery media.

I've once taken out my harddrive before to be slaved (and backed up), so I just opened the HD compartment in the back. The drive was loose! It wasn't even connected to the little metal things inside the computer. No wonder why I couldn't boot up my computer. I pushed the drive back into its original position and now everything's working fine. =D

I am currently getting an error on boot saying that the "Operation System not found." Diagnostics showed that the 5+ year old SSD was dead. I replaced the drive with a new one and planned to install Ubuntu before deciding if I should reinstall Windows 7. I have tried booting from several USB drives created in both Rufus and uNetbootin, but I have not been able to successfully boot from USB no matter what I do.
Seems like many people have problems booting the XPS 15zs from USB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My laptop is Dell Vostro 5560. Yesterday I was installing Windows 8.1. Installation was almost complete until I heard a sound and my laptop was turned off.
Then I powered it back and tried to install Windows 8.1 again. But when it asked me, "Where to install", I saw there was no hard drive partitions. It was blank. It says, Windows can't load any drives.
Well, afterwards I searched this problem on the web and I came across a solution which said to install GParted Partition Editor. I booted GParted Partition Editor and I deleted my hard drive. Then I saw my hdd memory was unallocated. Then I tried to boot Windows 8.1 and finally it booted.
Now comes my main problem!! Then I shut down my laptop. When I turned it on, it said the same problem that operation system not found. I tried to boot Windows 8.1 but there was no hdd partition to install. Then I used the same precedure using GParted Partition Editor. It worked perfectly last time. But this time despite of cleaning my hdd using GParted Partition Editor, Windows was unable to detect any hdd while installing Windows 8.1.
I opened Command Prompt and run code "diskpart", then "list disk". But there was also no hdd, only my pen drive where I'm booting from.
Then I tried to install other OS, for example, Ubuntu. I successfully installed Ubuntu and it also detected my hdd successfully. But when I turn off my pc and power it back again, it says the same error "Operation System Not Found!"... Read more

Answer:Each time I power on my laptop, it says "Operation System Not Found"

Is the BIOS reverting to default settings?
Turn on legacy and turn off safe/secure boot etc, and then power down for a few minutes. Check again they haven't changed.
I wonder if it's some problem with MBR/GPT/UEFI setup of new partitions and gparted hasn't handled it properly.
MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable CD is a more Windows like tool and may help.
Sadly, I haven't messed around with GPT and UEFI systems so save Googling, I can't help more.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:

H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics: (read the details at the link) (read the details at the link)

So; I have a Dell Inspiron 7720 laptop with a reformatted hard drive and I need to reinstall windows 7. I do not have the original Reinstallation DVD that came with this exact laptop but I do have one from another Dell Laptop ( a Studio 1558) and another Windows 7 disc from a desktop (the discs and the OS that was on the laptop before the HDD fail are all Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit). When I turn on the laptop with either disc and mash F12 and then select "CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive" from the boot options the screen immediately displays "Operation System not found" and stays at this screen until restarted.
I have run a full diagnostic check and everything passed, I have made sure the CD-RW Drive is no.1 in boot priority (don't imagine that matters if I  manually select it). The HDD and CD-RW Drive are detectable in BIOS too.... I have no idea what the problem is, any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Many thanks in advance,

WinXP Pro, fully updated. Office XP SP2.Audiotrieve's Inboxer anti-spam program got a rave review in PCA recently but it's caused me some trouble. I changed the PST file Outlook was using for email delivery. When I tried to close the redundant PST file I got the message "Operation failed. An object could not be found". Same message if I tried to view its properties. Tried renaming the file but it still apears as "Personal Folders" (but then it can't be expanded). Uninstalled the Inboxer program but no luck. Tried restoring this PST file back as the main email delivery folders, but it still won't work. I tried substituting a known valid PST file with the same name, but that didn't help, so it's not the PST file itself that's gone wrong. This Inboxer integrated with Outlook, installing a toolbar, and creating 2 new folders in the PST file. Any ideas? I hate the idea of System Restore (after some nightmare experiences).

Ok, we have a really annoying issue at work at the moment with Outlook XP.

because we deal with alot of different jobs we use a job number system so everyone knows what goes where and whats going on.
The trouble is we may have 4 or 5 people working on the same job, sending lots of emails so to get everyones emails all in one place so that anyone can pick them up we've decided to use .pst files for each job example 10.001-inbox, 10.001-sent.

now it seems that these get corrupted somehow over time because when some users try to 'close' that pst file they get the following message
"Operation failed. An object could not be found"
so they're left witha redundant file in their outlook that cannot be deleted or hidden. The emails in that folder can be moved to another pst folder so that others can gain access to the emails but we're left with redundant files.

we have one guy who has at least 20 of these un-closeable files in his outlook. i really dont know how he does it.

Is there a way to removed these files? i've tried reinstalling outlook but i still get the files which i cannot remove. I'm assuming its a registry issue?

thanks for your time

The laptop had become sluggish after a failed attempt at installing Windows 10 (it rolled back to Win 7), so backed up all data and started a System Recovery from the disks I had made.  After the first disk completed (and before the second could be started), power was interrupted and the computer shut down.  Now when booted, I receive "Operation System not found".  What I've tried: Set BIOS boot order to CD/DVD and booted with Recovery disk #1- no help, doesn't read from CD driveRemoved battery, power adapter, and HDD, then reseated HDDRan ePSA - runs a long time, but everything reads good EXCEPT the HDD test never finishes, giving error code 2000-0145 (self test did not complete) Not sure what to try next or if there is any hope.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Three problems with my son's PC. All might be related.

1. Whenever I reboot my system, I get this error message:
"Error loading C:\Windows\image.dll. The specified module could not be found."

2. At startup I also get this error message:
"The application [rundll32.exe] has failed to start because FOBJ420.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

3. The third problem is that the system is SLOW to respond. For example, whenever I double-click on an Excel, Word, or PowerPoint file, the system times out for 30-35 seconds before responding.

I'm using a DELL 4550 Desktop, WINDOWS XP, P4 2.0 GHz, 256 MB RAM. I'd appreciate any assistance.

At present, I have a screen that keeps saying 'error loading operating system'. To start I had Wn98se, installed WnXP Pro. The files and settings transer wizard did it's thing copying but didn't work upon install. I have 98 start up disk .. but nothing for the XP. (Was having trouble with update downloads / installs from micro.) but over all the system was working fine. I have Norton 05 Premier / goback if I can get to it. I just installed a new hard drive, 'Steup' had identified hd but I never got windows to open. Can't say that I know what happened,, seems to me that it asked about partitions. I do not understand much about that, never have changed or used. My guess, they work like seperators on task bar?? Next I think it wanted to install OS, I figured okay, but why?, it should already have XP on it (old drive) I left old as primary. Then it got to where it was saying it would 'format'. Wait a minute, I know enough to know I'd lose everything, so I rebooted. I've tried a number of time to see if I missed something. I am thinking about making a dual book computer. One that
would allow me to use old software and update new software.
I am looking for a link that compares features of MS Windows
ME 98 2000 or XP because I plan to put on 2 of the four
windows systems on that computer. One of the four will probably be windows XP because it is the latest and maybe the greatest. Someone told me that XP does not support old parrellel ports for older printers so I don't like that. So is there a link to compare
features of these windows systems. Which two would I
choose feature to get best of both old and new software useage. A combo best for using new and old software.
thank you,

I have a new compaq computer which can preinstalled with OS 7 and it has a OS 7 recover partition. I install XP onto this machine and now i want to restore it to OS7. However, on the boot menu it does not give me the option to recover 7. I dont have the 7 installation disks either. is there a command prompt within XP? HELP PLEASE!!

Answer:Restore 7 on xp operation system. HELP!

I don't know about Compaq, but on Dell's if an OS, other than the original is installed, the recovery partition will be corrupted and it requires a manual installation using the supplied discs.

On several HP's that I've worked on recently there was a procedure to create a set of discs that could be used to reinstall if needed. That was probably the way on the Compaq and it is gone too. About your only option is to contact HP (Compaq) and see if you can get a set of discs.

Use the windows 98 bootdisk to make a new partition, delete your old one, format it, then insert your xp cd and run the setup. Make sure your pc has enough memory like at least 256, best 2gb. Then you should be good to go

Hello! I have been an Windows Vista user since 2007 and before that Windows XP, and before older systems related to Microsoft. But what they now have come up, I don't want to have at all. What I like to have is an OP that only operates well on desktops and/or laptops but nothing else. No telephones, no I-pads or other touchscreen devices. I am in basic a wordthinker, so also a system that's build along the line. I have no use for the interface like Windows 10 offer or OS8 is from Apple. What's possible?

It should show the model number next to the driver in question.

You can look in Device Manager under each appropriate section (Audio, Networking, Video, etc.) and see what model you have in your system.

Have a W3644 E-machine. Would not boot this morning. Am on my laptop right now. Will not boot in Safe mode or any mode, just keeps recycling back to that page asking to boot from safe mode, safe mode with input, normal startup, last know recovery mode. When I go to recovery mode it is asking me for a CD, which I had never gotten when I bought the computer. Is there a disk CD that will boot XP and run off the CD without having to reformat the disk drive. Do not want to lose my files on the disk, or is there a cable that goes from the disk drive P5 connector to an IDE connector. I would put it on another computer I have and then at least transfer my files before reloading the crashed drive with the operating system? Would appreciate any help on this subject. Thank you. I'm not a computer geek though.

Answer:Operation system crash

Welcome to TSF

You are going to either have to perform a Repair Installation of Windows XP
or format and reinstall a fresh copy of windows. You need software theres not way around that.

Before you perform a repair installation of Windows XP, you must uninstall Internet Explorer 7 if installed. If you do not uninstall Internet Explorer 7 in this situation, Internet Explorer will no longer work after the repair installation is completed. Specifically, the repair installation does not restore earlier versions of the files in the Program Files\Internet Explorer folder. Therefore, the Internet Explorer 7 files will be incompatible with the Internet Explorer 6 files that are installed in the Windows\System32 folder.

Is there a separate partition on your hard drive that might contain recovery software? Tap the F12 key at boot. What are your options? When the computer boots, is there a flash of in blue across the screen?

I have 2 operation systems and 2 HDDs
One with W7
Second with XP

When I start my PC it makes a lot of noise (I guess it comes from a fan I ordered from china) and when it loades the black screen (when it says "boot from CD\DVD") it says "Missing operation system, and the BIOS that goes up to let my choose which operation system I want to use from the two, doesn't comes up.

When I restart, the noise is a lot less noisy and the PC works fine.
What is wrong?

Thank you.

Answer:Missing operation system

Go into your Bios and change the Boot order from you DVD/CD Rom to the first hard drive you have installed. It should boot then correctly.

I bought an x61 notebook with Vista Home Basic operating system last August. I replaced the original operation system with XP, and it was working fine for a year. But I reinstall the XP operating system today, but all USB hubs don?t work, as well as internet, dock station. I think I already install the appropriate drivers. They are all the same drivers I used last year. What should I do? I still have a hidden restore partition on my computer. Is there any way to get my Vista operation system back? Thanks a lot!!

Answer:HELP please! X61 Vista operation system restore

Hi yimeiwang,Updating Win XP to SP3 might resolve USB hubs issue. Further, installing lenovo drivers is a two step process namely extraction of the file to a location the first setup file chooses [by default typically C:\Drivers\..] and secondly going to that location and running the actual driver's setup. An year is a long time to forget this.  Hope it helps.

I have been reading about latest Linux software and that they have never been so much better. A computer Shopper magazines said it is on par with Win Xp on one review (SUSE Linux).I'm curious about it but I am not sure about few softwares such as games, applications etc, that will works in Linux?

Answer:Is Linux operation system any good?

I've installed Suse Linux 8.1 and, yes, it was very easy to do so.As an operating system it does more or less what XP does but in a totally different way. It's fast and stable but takes very much longer to boot.Almost all the software you require (Office, Graphics, CD burning etc) come with it or are fairly easily installed.Don't expect to play any cutting edge games though. You will find it a steep learning curve but, if you keep at it, it will become a very interesting passtime!

I have a laptop with widows 7 installed that I download online, after that I made a partition and installed a new windows 7 with another language. It works pretty good. Now I am thinking to get a new computer with windows 7 installed and make a new partition and then install the same operation system using the restore disk that I am going to make from the original windows 7 that will come with the computer. It's like clone my operation system to a new partition. The reason I want to do this is to have one partition to work and the other to do whatever I want to because I have a software from work that should not work on cluttered computer. Any help will be ready appreciated.

Answer:how to install 2 operation system in 2 partitions

Installing a Windows 7 system that you downloaded "online" sounds suspect. Microsoft do not provide downloadable systems so one must presume that you have a pirated system in which case you will not get any help here.Your idea regarding using a restore disk will not work due to the differences which will exist regarding drivers, motherboard and a host of other conflicts... in short it is doomed to failure. It appears also that you are using software which (from reading your post) appears to belong to your employer.I think you should give some thought to re-posting your question and make very clear just exactly what you are doing. Please accept my apologies if my assumptions are incorrect.

What most affects the operation of my computer? I have Win98 First Edition with a Pentium II and 64 MB of RAM. My System Resources say 50 percent free. I have only two things running all the time: McAfee anti-virus and a popup ad fighter called PopUp Ad Filter. It seems my computer won't run complicated programs with lots of graphics very well. I don't have any complicated games installed--just some Hoyle card and board games. Don't know if this is specific enough, but will appreciate any help.

Answer:System resources, memory, operation

You need more RAM. Simple as that. Add another 64MB and see what a world of difference it makes. You can supplement this by going to typing MSCONFIG then hit enter and then go to startup and uncheck anything from that list that doesn' t need to be started up on boot.

ok let me nutshell this :-( school in 6 and still no sleep

i broke my harddrive.. when i used my partition magic boot floppys it said i had a bad hard disk

i tried to reinstall 2000... alas... my 2000 cd is broken.. I purchashed a new oem xp...

i installed it... the same

i used my hp only version of windows 98.. it reported that i had no disk or it was currupt.. it also said if it was cprrut that it could fix it... it ran a very quick fix and then tried boting into the installation... being hp only it didn't work... i couldn't remember how to get it to format my disk.. i've done it before...

i used the PM floppy again and it could see my partition so.... yay!!!!

i deleted the small ntfs partiton that was there.. fdisk kept the old ntfs but made the partition way smaller then it used to be... and then reinstalled windows... now it says error loading operation system

is there anyway to fix this problem without reinstalling again? my computer is a biatch and stops installation randemly... it was like that when i originally put 2000 on it so i don't think that is the problem...

if i have to reinstall please tell me exactly what to do... if i have to use fdisk of the cd please tell me how... i know i've gotten it to format my new computer before but can't remember how...

please help much thanks... i already spent 200 on this computer this week... and really can't afford a new hdd

thanks again

Answer:error loading operation system

First download Memtest86 and run it from a floppy or bootable cd.
That will check your memory for errors.
Then go to hard drive makers homepage and download a disk checker and again you should be able to run it from floppy or bootable cd.
That should check your hard drive for errors.
Both are self loading so dont need an os.
If either test show errors then you have found where a problem lies.
If neither then start looking somewhere else.

Question: Microsoft Typo

Microsoft made a typo in their WinSAT application, How can we let them know about it?

Answer:Microsoft Typo

Hi Steven,

You can try contacting them by following the link below. Whether or not you will get a response I cannot say. I have managed to locate the error in the 'WinSAT.exe' file (notice the space between the letters), and you can edit it to replace the erroneous 'o' with an 'i', however by doing so you will probably cause it to fail an SFC scan. In my opinion, it is such a minor error that it is probably best left ignored.

I mistyped a url earlier (I believe i typed 'radiosahck' instead of radioshack) and was redirected to a strange website (something about internet surveys I believe) I closed it right away and did a quick scan with malwarebytes to make sure nothing was wrong, and it came up empty. I'm probably being a bit paranoid here, but is this anything to really worry about?

Answer:Odd URL typo redirect...

Redirects can be something to worry about, as you have no idea what content is being hosted on the re-direct. Most popular anti virus programs, have real-time scanning, where it's constantly scanning your computer, and as soon as you're redirected to a bad website, it will block any content that's harmful to your computer. I use Eset and it does this.

I am trying to merge several years' worth of calendar items into a single new PST file for archiving, but when I try to copy many of my calendar items I get this error:
"Outlook cannot copy the items. The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found"

Using advice elsewhere I tried creating and using a new mail profile, but now Outlook just hangs when I try to open one of my existing PST files (the item pane just displays "loading...").

Can anyone advise re. why I might be getting this error when copying calendar items from one folder/PST file to another?

Working on a fresh installation of Win7 Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate.

Got Outlook installed and setup with my mail accounts (this is the first time I'm using Outlook - moved from Thunderbird) and it synced with my phone and all seemed to be right with the world.

Then I tried to send an email message. It gives me the error: "the operation failed. an object cannot be found." and the message goes to the "Outlook" folder in the Personal Folders (even though I told it to send sent mail to another folder).

This is an GMail IMAP account in Outlook 2007. I've been googling and it might have something to do with Offline Address Books, but the instructions for rebuilding them are to open Exchange Service Manager or something like that... I don't have that.

Can someone help me out on this issue? If I can't send mail, obviously that's a killer, but I'd really like to use Outlook because I have a WinMo phone and need to sync the calendar and tasks and so on.

My Recovery Drive says it is almost full. I reinstalled the Operation System and it still says the same thing. First of all what is the difference between the Op Sys Disc and the Recovery Drive? I would like to empty the RD and get rid of the warning. Thanks

Answer:Recovery Drive (d)vs Operation System Disc

The recovery drive is built in on most PB computers by manufacturers, containing a boot image of the factory default of the computer. I am actually going to set one myself on my PC, once I get my new HDD.

If you want to delete the partition (not recommended by the management, but ok to do) then open up Disk Management and select the partition, and select "format". Once that is done, you can merge the two partitions together.

If you need to see the steps better, the tutorial is here, courtesy of Brink.

I have tried using the Run as Administrator trick as suggested on a post to another member, but to no effect.

Is there a patch, upgrade, setting or trick that I am missing here?

Answer:PGA Tour 08 not compatible with installed operation system

You could try to select the EXE file that launches the game and under the compatibility tab, choose an operation system like Windows 98 or Windows 2000. There is no guarantee it'll work but it's a shot.

Greetings, HP I am writing this to give my disatisfaction on the performance of this HP Laptop Envy. About 3 yrs. ago, I had purchased this Laptop for something different than a Desktop System.  It would also be a welcome change for something that I could carry around, when needed, for different uses. For the first few months this Laptop worked outstanding and I could have not asked for anything better.  As time went by I started noticing the system not working as well as before.  All of a sudden the Mouse or Touchpad would go crazy and start drifting all over the screen!  On start up, sometimes it will take a long time to boot up for some reason.  Sometimes, it works just like it did when I first got it.  There have been many times, when typing on the keyboard the system will start hi-liting the text in blue for no reason.  I have a heck of a time getting rid of it.  I have to rest my palms on the Touch Pad to type here, as most people have to do. I try to keep this Laptop in good working order all the time.  I take care of what takes care of me.  I don't play games on this system that much.  I have no Joy Stick or any other attachments on it, except a Mouse that I use because the Touch Pad does not work right.  I have a feeling that this Pad is causing trouble.  I have even tried to disable it, but that didn't work at all!  I do use this System to edit Images that I take with 3 differe... Hi guys, I was helping my girlfriend install a game on her computer the other night and she kept getting errors not allowing her to finish it. I recognized them as Windows Errors for NET 1.1+ and possibly something else. I then checked around to see if she had missed any windows updates which she had, so I had her install to the current standing ones and try again. She is now just getting one error in particular that says: Error System Invalid Operation Exception Error Cannot process the request because the process (2620) has exited. Then it lists strings of boolean items and it won't go away without forcing an Alt+Control+Delete. I have attached a screenshot of the error just in case. Anyone know how I can help her fix this? By the way, she is running an older Windows XP machine.

Answer:System Invalid Operation Exception Error

<<I recognized them as Windows Errors for NET 1.1+ and possibly something else...>>

Based on what, please? What were the exact messages?

Did you uninstall/reinstall MS.NET 1.1?

System manufacturer and model?

Is NET 1.1 the latest version of NET installed?

Hello, I have a T 43 I downloaded the PC Doctor for DOS bootable CD  and burned it to a CD, I used the directions at and I get a message saying "Missing operation system" thoughts? Thank youKimberly

Answer:Missing operation system & PC Doctor for DOS bootable CD

Assuming that you've downloaded the 1ety47ww.exe file, executed it to unpack the .ISO file, burned the .ISO file to a blank CD using  a "write image" (or similar) option to your CD burner program and have the CD/DVD drive in the list of bootable drives, then it should work.  The two most common things which go wrong and give you the "missing operating system" error message are:
- simply copying the .ISO file to the blank CD; that is, telling the burning program to treat the .ISO file as any other document or data file.  The CD writing program MUST use a specific setting/option which properly writes the .ISO file to the disk so that it becomes bootable
- the system's BIOS has removed the CD/DVD drive from the list of available boot devices; if you press the F12 key just after the system is turned on, you should get a "Preparing Boot Device List" message, followed by a "Boot Menu". The CD/DVD drive would be "ATAPI CD0:xxxxxx".  If that's not listed, then you will have to access the BIOS and change the Startup/Boot setting.
To a lesser extent, the CD/DVD drive may be defective - if it can't read the burnt disk, then that can also lead to the "missing OS" message.

dear all, I had issues with HD of my HP Compaq presario CQ71-310 SD notebook, I got an used HD from a HP compaq presario (I think CQ61), and replaced the had HD with this new one. In order to have a fresh installation of Windows, I did a complete re-installation from recovery partition of new disk. This re-Installation of  Windows 7 went fine, only:- the mouse is not working anymore, basically all usb ports do work anymore- get a frequent message that no proper driver for ATI graphic card is available. As a result the graphics are quit bad. So, I get the feeling is that the recovery information what is stored on new HD is not fully compliant with my laptop. Any idea to get proper installation on my noteboob? ThanksJaap

Alright, so I have had my Acer Aspire 5520-5912 laptop for at least five years. With the elasped time, I had somehow misplaced the computer's recovery disc (the operation system disk which accompanies the computer). I know it will be very important to have it in case something crazy happens within my computer's system. On top of that, I will need the recovery disk in the future whenever I pass my acer down to a family member if I decide to invest in a new computer. If anyone knows where I can find a replacement operation/recovery disk for this brand of acer, I'd really appreciate it.

Possible helpful infomation:

Original operating system- Vista
Current operating system- Windows 7

Answer:Need a replacement operation system recovery disc

I have a couple of issues that I can't fix. First, upon reboot I get "unable to load operationg system" message on black screen. Just prior to the attempt to reboot, Nortons identified "high risk threat Trojan Zorb" but was unable to fix. I scanned with Ewido but detected nothing.
I changed BIOS and tried to boot from CD but got message "can't find .ini file". Do I need to purchase sledge hammer???

Answer:Unable to load operation system on XP machine

You need to perform a DOS-based virus scan of a computer.

Can you boot into Safe Mode (tapping the F8 key at boot)?

Dear Friends,

When trying to export Personal Folders (including sub-folders) using the Import - Export tool, in Outlook 2007, the following happens:

1. The operation goes smoothly till I type and (retype) a password, which is saved.
2. Within a few seconds, I get the message "The operation failed. An object could not be found".
3. When I check the file which I had earlier named, to store the data, I find it's there, but with only 5% or 10% of the data.

Could you please guide me what steps I could take?

With thanks,

Answer:Solved: "The operation failed. An object could not be found"

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing the red typo lines when there are no typos. This happens on occasion when I'm typing emails and posting or responding to forums. It seems to occur when there is an actually typo and I correct the error. After that the entire post/email from that point on will have the red typo lines.

For example it is happening now... I'll try to post a pic for a better understanding.

Has anyone experience this as well and most importantly does anyone know of a solutions to this?

My unit is new and I have yet to DL Office 365 so I don't have Word. Not sure if that will matter.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi can someone please help clear up my concerns because I accidentally interned the wrong DNS address on my new router.
After entering this typo I almost immediately that my connection was unstable especially on Linux and yesterday evening when I logged back into my router the DNS settings were set to there defaults. But I was able to surf the web kinda in Windows though it timed out often and certain webpages wouldn't even open, and now when ever I enter the correct DNS settings it disconnects from the internet.
Here's what I entered
Instead of
I'm really feeling uneasy and stressed about this, any advice?
Why does stuff like this happen whenever your in poor health or any other of life's trials and complications?

Answer:Open DNS typo on router

Two things you might check:
1. In Windows, do your Network Properties have a DNS Server entry(s) that point(s) to your router (probably or close) or do they point to the published OpenDNS IP addresses? Easy check: From an Elevated Command Prompt: ipconfig /all
2. After you corrected the DNS router entries, did you have the router do a cold reboot?
I believe you shouldn't overly stress yourself over this if you didn't make any financial transactions. But new passwords could be needed.

Office 2010 purchased.
I can not recall my emails. The message I'm getting is "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found".

Hosting Exchange and I checked with the hosting co. who says they support the functionality. Quote: This function is a default feature from Microsoft. All features that Microsoft has enabled by default are enabled by us, the default settings aren't changed

How to fix it?

Thank you in advance for any information :)
