I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, sometime in sleep mode my Yoga fall into irresponsive mode without any possibility to do anything. The power button is simply not working - pushing it for more than 30 second not change anything... Yoga red light is slowly blinking, the fn key is lighting, the fan is working, processor is heating and this follows to full drain battery. Is any possibility to reset or reboot this "thermal brick" Yoga mode? Some computers and tablet have the hard reset button to help with such a situation - have Thinkpad Yoga similar solution (i.e. button combination invoking reset)?Thank you for reply.

Answer:thinkpad yoga is not response to power button in sleep mode

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga becomes irresponsive while trying to wake up from sleep mode.

If your computer stops responding, press and hold the power button for four seconds or more. If the computer still is not responding, remove the ac power adapter and reset the computer by inserting a needle or a straightened paper clip into the emergency reset hole to turn off the computer.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Mithun.

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. I cannot figure out, if this is a problem with my power supply? Or the CPU itself? And no tests suggests any problems...  Anyone able to help me out with troubleshooting? Didn't realize the laptop was unplugged and went completely dead sitting there for a month. Went to plug in to power up and nothing. Thought maybe cat chewed on charger cable and tested it and was only pulling 4v vs the 20v it's supposed to but tried new charger that Lenovo sent and still nothing. I've heard battery could be un-chargeable if left to completely die and sit for a while but still don't get why laptop won't boot up when plugged in.  Am I dealing with something else internal in addition to a dead battery?

Answer:No response after entering sleep mode

hi 2pacalypsenow,

Welcome to the Forums.

This is a usual behavior of the Yoga 11s. When you try to wake the computer from sleep, do you have a light on the power button (i.e. solid/blinking light) ?
- if the unit is in sleep mode, it should have a flashing power light (S3 state)
- if hybrid sleep is enabled, the power button should be blinking and after a couple of mins., the light should turn off (S4 state)

Also, are you able to re-create the issue if you put the unit to sleep in Safe mode? When you successfully wake the computer up (by plugging in the AC adapter), do you get any errors on the Event Viewer?

Let me know your findings

Regards

I got this computer a month ago. New Windows installation. Worked fine for awhile, but it started to be really slow when it comes out of sleep mode (had the same problem with old computer with Windows 7 - that's why I bought a new computer)  No changes were made to the computer before it started to get slow. I don't know much about computers, so please try to be as clear as possible Thank you!

Hello,

I've tried to read all of the stickied threads here and see if anything could resemble my problem. I couldn't find anything that's exactly like what I have encountered...

Anyways, I've had my P5Q se plus for a little over a year now with
2x2gigs of OCZ reaper
e7300 2.66ghz
gtx260
Yesterday, I accidently put my computer into sleep mode. It then rebooted with no video or input. I thought it was just a freak accident so I pressed the power button to turn it off. Then today, the same problem occurred when I tried turning the computer on- no video or keyboard/mouse. Everything else functions perfectly- all fans light up, hard drive spins, disk drive light blinks, CPU fan spins, etc.
I don't understand what's wrong. Can anyone point me in directions for troubleshooting?

Thanks.

What operating system is this? Have you tested to see if the monitor itself works? Does pressing the num lock key on the keyboard make the light come on?

Hi I have a T530 with Windows 7 Pro x64. I am getting a problem i had on my old computer with both Windows 7 & 8 installed again on this new lenovo computer. I really need to trust stanby, so i can count on it starting again if i close the lid or in another way sends it into stanby mode. The problem is, that it sometimes (i dont know why) doesn't go to sleep mode when i close the computer/press the sleep button/press the powerbutton on dock. It just gets blank screen (screen is turned off), fans and light on. Mute button works. I see the wireless icon on, and the HDD activity icon blinking a bit, but not much. This time i pressed random keys to see if i could wake it again from this blind stage, but i dont think it did anything. I saw a short blue blink before it turned off, crashed. I think i got a bluescreen, but there is no report from windows about it. I've searched Google, but all problems was blank screen AFTER it had been in stanby, this is when it goes INTO stanby. Any idea how i can stop this problem? Does i have to provide more data for a solution? Maybe a list of programs installed will help? Thanks in advance! -----Emil Kristensen

I am using a Lenovo Ideapad yoga 13 ultra book laptop. The laptop costs around 1 lac INR. I had absolutely no issues with laptop.  It was working fine, till in the month of Feb 2015, the touch screen of the laptop got damaged accidently.  I have followed up with at least a dozen Lenovo authorized service centers and all of them have put me down with saying we are not able to resolve the issue.  It?s now six months since I have been using the laptop with the cracked touch screen. I had directly interacted with Lenovo, but all in vain. It is saddening to experience that in spite of buying a high end laptop, the service and support provided by Lenovo is far below acceptable. Henceforth, I won?t be recommending any Dell products to anyone. Very Very Very cold response?????..

Hello,

often, when I want to put computer into sleep mode or sometimes when I restart it, procedure doesn't finish, display usually turns off, but computer is still running. The only option is to turn it off manually by holding power button.

After restarting I have a lot of (15) errors in system log:

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the XXXXXX service.

XXXXXX = iphlpsvc, Schedule, SENS, BITS, CertPropSvc, EapHost ... etc.

Several days ago I have updated my bios and some drivers, so I suspect that the reason may be some driver.

I have dell latitude e4310 notebook running Win7x64 SP1.

If the problem is in driver, how can I find out which driver is problematic? Or do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hello folks, I hope to find finaly a solution with you.For straters, I have a lenovo ideapad yoga 11s model 20246. So far from what I have read is that due to the flashing power button im faced with the common sleep mode problem. What have i tried so far:- Several combinations of holding the power button- disconnecting the battery and hold power putton- combination of above mentioned and AC adapter either pluged and not- removing ram Two days ago I managed somehow to boot it up by a combination with the reset button. After that I changed several power managment options so that the system wont enter sleep mode again. After running it for like 1 hour it crashed showing colored stripes and making harsh noises. Since then I havent been able to boot it up again (back to blinking power button). Currently im letting the battery drain so I hopfully will be able to boot later and make a factory reset or maybe install win10 from scratch. If you have any further advice I would highly appreciate it !!! thank you in advance  for good measure here is also a photo of the internals...

The response instructed the user to update the computer's drivers. I have updated my drivers. My computer still shuts down regularly while sleeping. Please help!

Answer:IdeaPad U400 shuts down when in sleep mode

Hi RuthAnne,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that the issue still persists even after re-installing the drivers as suggested in the previous posts, I also assume that you have updated the Video Driver(Win 7 or Win 8) & Chipset Driver (Win 7 or Win 8)specifically and checked if this resolves the issue.

If the issue is same even after installing the above mentioned drivers, please backup the Data in the computer to any external hard drive and perform OSRI (Operating System Re-Install) to check and confirm the issue is with the
OS (Operating System).

NOTE: If the computer is shipped with pre-installed operating System OSRI can be performed using the instructions in U400 User Guide click here, check the steps to perform OKR(One Key Recovery) on page 23.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards

I have a Yoga 13 (original model, not a Yoga 2) which will not go to sleep after inactivity when it's in stand mode. It also seems like the screensaver won't trigger either. I had the laptop on my nightstand last night and the screen stayed on all night even though nothing was running on it. It does not do this if I have it in its tent or normal laptop orientations. Has anybody seen anything similar? Any ideas as to why this might be happening? Thanks!

My computer seems to be going into sleep mode after a couple of minutes like 15-20 minutes of using the computer after I move it. If I pick it up put it in my lap use it for a couple of minutes then as soon as I put it back on the table the screen goes black and goes into sleep mode. Sometimes it take a while for it start up again sometimes 2 seconds. I don't know whats wrong with it, its only been doing this for a coupe of days now but its so fraustrating because it keeps putting itself in sleep mode sometimes only after 10 minutes just from being moved ? Even if I just move the corner of it.

You don't want your laptop to go into sleep while presenting, so probably it's a feature. That you ain't moving the mouse, doesn't mean you ain't talking about what's on the screen.

Hi All, I've been experience troubles with issues ralated to sleeping. Sometimes it just sleeps well. Sometimes my Y2P sometimes won't go sleep(insomnia???). The screen goes off but the fan doesn't stop and the keyboard backlit doesn't go off. And whatever I do won't wake it up in this circumstance, for example hitting a key on the keyboard, hitting the power button, or touch the screen. I have to restart to enter the OS. (FYI VirtualBox may cause this problem but I was not running it. I don't even have it installed.) And sometimes it does go sleeping and can be waken up, but during the sleep the fan doesn't stop and the machine becomes very hot. This seems to happen only under the power manager high performance mode but I'm not sure. Twice I just closed my laptop and went to bed. and left the poor Y2P baking-hot overnight. As a result, the battery capacity estimate in the power manager is now 'Normal'. I believe it was 'Excellent' or 'Good' when I first received it. (FYI the capacity is now 54760mWh.) I really love this machine. Yellow issue is not a killer but the sleep problem does troubles me a lot. I'm not able to return it because I just passed the 15-day return period. Any suggestion to solve those problem, folks? -K

Hey hey, just got my y2p today, swithcing from an x220t I have this too! but mine's a little different...I'm noticing that shutdown is taking a really long time while the restart is instantaneous. but the reason why i note this is that whenever I close my lid (to go to sleep, the computer initiates shut down! I was trying to figure out why it was "stuck" in sleep mode and then the more i looked into it i realized it wasn't sleeping but rather it was shutting down.  I don't care if shut down takes a while, because i almost never shut down (and by a while, I'm talking like 3/4 minutes) but I don't know how to stop it from shutting down instead of going to sleep!

My 14" Yoga (non-pro) seems to jump out of sleep mode whenever I put it into sleep mode. This even happens when the Yoga has been folded up and put in by bag, giving a high chance of damaging the laptop or even causing other kinds of damage. Currently I'm working around it by putting it into Hibernate (which, I admit, is also pretty fast). But that's obviously not a nice workaround. Does anybody know how to fix this? I tried to find out what causes the event but the system logs are rather strange: I do get: The system has returned from a low power state.Sleep Time: ?2016?-?07?-?23T21:07:12.012475900ZWake Time: ?2016?-?07?-?23T21:07:21.793067400ZWake Source: Power Button But I certainly haven't touched the power button, and it seem to be working fine otherwise.

I've always used sleep mode at night and quite frankly most of the time instead of shutting down my yoga. I know thats not good after reading some here but wanted to share history in case that has something to do with problem.Typically at night or when leaving office or just going to be off computer for a while I'll close the lid (which is set for sleep mode) and when I return I open it up, enter my password and I'm right where i left off. I have multiple spreadsheets or power points open so it's easier than shutting those down every time or even at night. But since yesterday, when I open it back up, it has shut down and has to start up from "off" vs sleep. All things open have to be recovered (xls, docs, ppt, etc) and chrome says it has shut down unexpectedly and asks if I want to restore tabs, etc. What is causing this change and how can I troubleshoot it and fix it?Help much appreciated.

Can you try checking under

Control Panel / Hardware and sound / Power Option
Click on change plan settings on your selected Power Plan
Click on change advanced settings

Now on this window look for Sleep and open it up.
Look for "Allow hybrid sleep"
Make sure that it is on and save changes

Check and let me know if that works.

I've had my Yoga 3 11" for about a month, and recently have been experiencing a strange behavior.  It randomly - and frequently - turns the screen off, even when I am actively working on it, where I have to re-log back on to unlock the screen.  It's to a point where this is happening every 5 minutes now.  I've re-configured the power options so that it doesn't turn off for an hour, but that didn't help.  It is almost un-workable at this point.  Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Answer:Yoga 3 11 Random Sleep Mode

I've had my Yoga 3 11 for about 3 days. It goes into sleep mode and shuts off the hard disk every 2 minutes or so even if I am actively typing. If I can't find a solution in the next 2 days, I am returning it. I really like this laptop but this makes it unusable.  Has corrupted files that I am copying because the hard drive goes to sleep. I have set the power settings to shut down the screen after 3 hours and the hard disk never.

Occasionally during Sleep Mode, the laptop restarts for unknown reasons. But I just noticed that it has restarted when I log in.I'm not sure whether this is caused by background updates of Windows 10, because I don't see a screen with updating or anything. AFAIK, the random restarts happened when the laptop ran on battery mode, but maybe that happens by accident.I already configured in Energy Manager that the hard disk never gets turned off, but that apparently doesn't work. What suggestions do you have to solve this random restart issue, without disabling sleep mode after X minutes?

Answer:Yoga 910 sometimes restarts during sleep mode

Windows will not update while in sleep mode, since your system is effectively turned off, so that is not the issue. Normally when you system is in sleep mode for a while, it eventually goes into hibernation (writes the data from memory to the hard drive) and shuts off.   This is to preserve the battery, and to prevent data loss should the battery die. The data is written to a hidden file on the root of the C:\ drive called hiberfil.sys, which is usually pretty large, about 6GB or so, and sometimes that file gets corrupted, and cannot be read when you try to resume, and thus the laptop reboot since it has no saved state from which to resume.     To fix that problem, you need to disable hibernation, and then re-enable it by following the steps below.. Disable/re-enable hibernationRight Click on Start and select Command Prompt (Admin)In the Command Prompt (Admin) window, type:  powercfg.exe /h offIt will take a minute or so for the command prompt to return as it deletes the existing hiberfil.sys fileOnce the prompt returns, type: powercfg.exe /h onThe prompt should almost immediately return, and the new hiberfil.sys file has been created.Close the Command Prompt (Admin) window Hope that helps. Cheers,

Hello.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p and it has erratic BSOD behavior, usually after sleep mode, but not always. Would love to get to the bottom of it and appreciate any help you can provide!

I've attached the necessary file as per the BSOD posting instructions.

Thanks,
Alexander

Answer:BSOD on Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p, after sleep mode usually

Only 48 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 to 80 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.

The memory dumps blame usbccgp.sys, but MSINFO32 lists ks.sys (kernel streaming of video driver)
And this seems to happen during a power down event (such as power off/hibernate/sleep/etc)

Finally, what applications do you delay using Startup Delayer?
What USB devices do you have connected?

I'm concerned about your version of Diskkeeper as it dates from Jan 2013 - well before Win8.1 was released.
Can you update it? If not, please uninstall it while we're troubleshooting.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

You may not find an update for this one, if so, just leave it be:

Greetings! I recently bought a new laptop, Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 15-ISK, with Windows 10 Home preloaded. I found a minor problem that happens frequently. After the laptop is idled for a period of time, 5 or 10 mins depending on plugged in or not as you know, the laptop first turns off display, then goes into sleep mode after another 5 or 10 mins. The problem is, after I come back and try to turn it back on, the screen stays black. However, I can see that the laptop is indeed responding by pressing NumLock, CapLock, or in my case, Fn-Space to turn on/off the backlight of keyboard. I checked and I have the latest windows updates and latest drivers for everything. So, any brilliant idea on this issue? Thanks in advanced.

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y700-No-power-no-display/td-p/2228277 Does it goes to normal after reset? If yes turn off hibernate mode as soon as possible!!! you will find a way to do it in the thread above. If it doesn't go back to normal and you are stuck with a brick then the only solution is to send it for a warranty repair. There is a bug in the bios which causes that.

Hi, my Ideapad Z565 usually gets frozen after falling to sleep mode - the screen turns black and there´s only a mouse cursor visible - which I can move but that´s all. The only thing I find to help in such a situation is to turn it off and on. Is there some way to prevent this? I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and still the same.  Thanks for help!

Has anyone else had problems with the X1 Yoga falling asleep? About 1 out of 6/7 times the X1 Yoga will not enter sleep mode - pretty random when it happens. When I select sleep from the Windows 10 menu or close the lid (so this happens both with the OneLink+ dock and when using standalone as a notebook) the computer seems to go to sleep, the displays turn off, USB devices turn off, but then the small led just stays on. It never really enters sleep mode. And there is no way to wake the computer up, just press the power button for 4 seconds and turn it off. Which practically means cold booting again. Usually the last item in the event log is a Kernel-Power event announcing the system is entering sleep mode. Today there are two more events after that, but then just nothing. (this is from the System event log). Really bothersome issue, probably related to Windows and/or firmware/BIOS. There does not seem to be any connection to what the computer is doing. It happens when no programs are running, and also when lots of programs are open. It happens as the fan is on (because the computer is doing something heavy) and both when the fan is off (the computer is idling). It happens while connected to the dock and also while not being connected to the dock. There does not seem to be any pattern to it. Anyone else experiencing something similar? Most drivers are updated to latest version, and BIOS is also latest.

Hi, I recently purchased a Thinkpad X1 Yoga, shipped on May 16, 2016.  I have an issue:     When I use the left side USB port (the one on the side of the power charging port) to charge my old Ipod and the laptop goes to sleep. The laptop does not wake up when opening the lid or pressing on the power button. However, as soon as I disconnect my Ipod from the USB port. The laptop immediately wakes up but unable to login using the fingerprint reader. Specific steps to reproduce: 1) Plug x1 yoga power cord to the laptop 2) Plug Ipod to the left side USB port. Make sure Ipod has no earphones plugged in. 3) Put the laptop in sleep mode 4) Close the lid of the laptop 5) Wait until iPod is no longer being charged by the laptop (a few seconds after the laptop goes to sleep) 6) Wait until iPod automically turns off on its own (it takes 15 to 30 mins, not sure exactly how much time.) 7) Open the laptop lid and notice that the laptop is not waking up. 8) Press on the "power" button on the right side of the X1 Yoga. Notice that the laptop does not wake up. 9) Remove the iPod from the USB port on the left side of the X1 Yoga.        Notice that the laptop is now able to wake up.        Also notice that the finger print reader is not responding. Cannot login using the fingerprint reader. Seems like a driver issue. Lenovo please confirm! ThanksWilly

Hi Hello Just got my new X1 yoga, but even after reading the manual, couldn't figure out how to resume it from sleep? Getting it to sleep easy, lid down, windows menu or F4. When I came back to it, the screen is off, the fingerprit scanner has a light, but I cannot manage to get it back on unless i press 1 or 2 times on the power button, and then it resumes. Any other ways to do it?? I'm used just to press any key/mouse, to get it to resume, my old surface was like that. Sorry for the basic question, but the power button sometime takes as long time, as I think it's restarting the computer. Thank you

Answer:ThinkPad X1 Yoga how to resume from sleep mode??

Pressing the Fn key might do it if it has only been in sleep mode for a while, but after a period of time set under the power plan setting, it will go into hibernation mode  to save the battery power (it basically writes the system state to a file called hiberfil.sys, and powers off), and in that case you have to press the power button to resume. This might help too even though it does not explicitly mention your model.https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht075624 Take Care,

Been using my yoga 3 pro for a about a couple weeks now and have had trouble with occasional battery drain overnight while in sleep mode. I will close the lid to put it to sleep, verify from the blinking power button that it's actually asleep, and then leave it overnight or longer.  Sometimes the battery level is almost the same as when it went to sleep, but sometimes it's completely dead.  It's like it's waking up on its own at some point and not going back to sleep.  But I've never caught it in the act.  And I've always put it to sleep with plenty of battery. My power settings are set to sleep after 15 min on battery.  I can't find anything else in the settings that would wake it up (no wake timers, etc), and my wireless adapter in device manager is not checked to allow it to wake the laptop.  I've seen threads about this for the Y2P, but those didn't fix mine.  Anyone else encountered this issue?

Hi guys,  Got my yoga last month and it's been okay, bit slow to load from sleep but it's done the job. Only thing is its now in a permanent sleep mode. I've tried re-charging it from zero battery, hard reset, putting the lid up and down, combining that with hard reset too. what to do? Do I have to send it somewhere? Obviously I don't want to open the thing up, I'd rather leave that to a professional. cheers.

My Yoga 11 is making a high-pitched beeping sound when in sleep mode that seems to come from both sides, close to the locations of power port/HDMI. It beeps around 1,5 times in a second and there is some variation to the sound. Otherwise the machine is quiet, so this can be quite irritating; it can be heard to some distance for example in a meeting room. Is this common or is it a problem with this particular unit? And what should I do about this? Thanks!

My newly acquired Yoga 700 cannot be worken from sleep mode. It would seem that while the computer itself wakes up fine, the monitor does not wake up. I have spent hours trying to research a fix, as using the Lenovo service and updating Windows all failed to provide results. It seems that 2 years ago similar issues were noticed with a number of Yogas. It now seems that this "is a Windows 10 issue". I don't care whose problem it is I want the product I purchased to work, and it does not do so. I tried following all the suggestions given then, including the updating of the various drivers (done) and shutting off Intel ISCT in Bios (not possible as does not exisit in my version). I won't even credit the workaround suggestion which was simply never to go into sleep mode. I would be grateful for any responses in the next two days, after which I am returning the device, and putting out a block on purchasing Lenovo products in my company. thanks, AK

Hi lamradnane ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the machine number (check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential) .  It would appear similar to this 80QQ00CQUK  .

Physical devices detected by the machine should show in the BIOS . Turning off the system and using the Novo key to power on would give Novo Menu that offers BIOS set up as this can also be verified within windows under device manager if recognized.

The parts lookup page would also be able to verify the devices /parts using the machine number or SN.

Update us as soon as convenient.

The battery drains rapidly even when in Sleep mode.  I am seeing battery life of only about 2 hours (very disappointing) of this IdeaPad that I purchased in May.  Even worse is that putting the laptop to sleep does not conserve what charge remains on the battery.  I read another post from 2013 that said to disable fast boot mode in the power options, but I cannot find that setting to change.  Does anyone have suggestions - to increase battery life AND to keep the battery from draining while in Sleep mode? Running W8.1 with balanced power settings. Thanks.

Hello, Biggest frustration in my life having brand new laptop doing this to me.After the laptop goes into sleep mode, I am not able to get back to Windows. All the light are there and look like normal, but there is no any welcome Lenovo logo or any other sign of normal behavior. I can turn it off by holding power button, but when I turn it back the problem is still there. Windows won't start. I was able to get back to Windows only next day just leaving laptop without any power and battery.I called Lenovo, they suggested to disable sleep modes and use hibernation. So I did it. When screen saver started, something went wrong, computer got frozen and I had to reboot, but then again, black screen and no reaction. Anyone has any ideas?

Hello, i recently purchased a thinkpad yoga 15 laptop with i7, 8gb ram, geforce gpu, 256gb SSD, Windows 8.1 Pro. My question is: how can I make it charge while in sleep mode? also, downloads stop in sleep mode (ie Steam) This is very inconvenient as the laptop will apparently only charge while totally on and open. Naturally, I don't want to leave my laptop on and open to anyone's use in my room, I want to keep it locked via sleep mode. I want it to be charged when I get back. To sum up, I want to a) charge laptop while it's in sleep mode, and b) don't stop downloads while in sleep mode. Thank you this is my first post on lenovo forums :]

I have a new Yoga 2 Pro with i7 processor. It works great and normal battery life is about 4-5 hours. But with a fully charged battery, i can close the lid at night triggering sleep mode, and wake up to an almost dead battery. Why is this happening? It's really dissapointing and I'm going to return it if I can't find a fix. I'm on the latest BIOS with all current updates. I am not using Hibernate mode. Closing the lid shoud not cause battery to continue to drain at normal usage rates. I'm hoping it's the WINDOWS 8 software but I've tried all the settings I can find.

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Draining Battery Fast in Sleep Mode

Probably because your laptop isn't even going to sleep. Check the power light to see if it's solid or blinking. If it stays solid your laptop isn't sleeping. The sleep function on Yogas basically don't work at all.

I have my Yoga 2 Pro set to go into Sleep Mode whenever the lid is closed. This used to work fine with Windows 8.1 but after my upgrade to Windows 10 Pro ("clean" install), it's a mixed bag. When I first upgraded to Win10 in early August, Sleep Mode did not work: When I closed the lid, it would shut off instead of going to Sleep Mode so that re-opening the lid would require me to press the power button to get it going again. Eventually, after a few weeks or more, Sleep Mode starting working again without me doing anything. I "assumed" that it started working after a new automatic windows update. Now when I opened the lid, the keyboard would light up and touching the trackpad would would bring up the lock screen as it should. This worked fine for several weeks. Then, all-of-a-sudden (within the past few weeks), Sleep Mode stopped working again. I did not change any settings but now, once again, after opening the lid I had to press the power button to bring the system back up. What's really annoying about this issue is that my automatic backups with Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials do not start if the Yoga is turned off. When it really is in Sleep Mode, the backups work fine without any user invervention. So I now have to start the backups manually. This has gotten very annoying. Does anyone have any idea how I can get my Sleep Mode working again or how I can even troubleshoot this issue? I'm totally out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Read more

Hi all, There are a number of posts regarding issues with power save: Not able to go to sleep mode, reboot etc.  I have completely lost an overview of where this solution was presented, so here's a recap of what worked for me: I have been digging through many posts on both here and on some of the other manufacturer's forum pages. I think the problem is in a large part related to the intel management engine version 11. Downgrading this to version 10 seem to solve the power management issue completely.  It isn't difficult to fix and should take you about 10 minutes.Note: I am writing this guide from a danish version of windows 10, so some of the translations may seem odd / wrong on a native english windows 10.Note: Your PC might explode, earth might be invaded by aliens if you follow my steps, so do it at you own risk, I am not responsible for any troubles you might run into afterwards! Go to Settings -> System -> Apps and functions. Find Intel Management Engine Interface and uninstall it.Go to http://support.lenovo.com/dk/da/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-... and download the exeInstall it and reboot. I thought that this unit had a solid state drive. Why am I having to wait for the hard drive per the manual? Was this a mistake? Do I need to really worry about this?

Answer:Sleep mode - manual says wait before moving - why? Yoga 13

hi Machine,

I would say that you don't have to worry about this, as this was meant I believe for systems that have old IDE/SATA Hard disks.
I checked the Yoga 13 configuration and your system is solely running on SSD which don't have spinning disk  to worry about.

 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Note:
Wait until the power indicator light starts blinking (indicating that the computer is
in sleep mode) before you move your computer. Moving your computer while the
hard disk is spinning can damage the hard disk, causing loss of data.

Hello there! I recently had a booting issue with my ideapad and after I fixed it, it was low on power so I plugged it up. I hadn't, however, noticed that it wasn't charging. After a few minutes it died. Now when I plug it up nothing happens. The charging led light won't even come on. I've tried using the novo button, but nothing happened. Please help - Drew

I'm considering buying Ideapad 100-15IBD with Intel Core i3 5005U processor and Geforce gt 920M graphic adapter. I'm interested people's experience with this notebook, and I'm especially interested in heat output of this machine while it's under heavy load for extended period of time.Sorry for bad English.

The pin of my DC Jack broke off in my adapter.  The mother board # is CG410/CG510.  I've scoured eBay, Digikey and Google and came up empty.  I've chatted with Lenovo Encompass and they're looking futher into finding one. The jack is 1.7mmiD and 4.0mmOD.

Answer:Looking for a Ideapad 100-15IBD DC Jack

Hi beckent. Welcome to the forums.

In my experience I found it very hard to find just that "DC Jack" replacement from Lenovo. Lenovo usually change the complete parts, and on the this case will be the whole mainboard.

Lenovo has available the parts list of the computer to the public (page 60), but not at a that low level. If the machine is under warranty or if you are going to take it to a Lenovo shop, they will replace the complete part.

If you only want to fix the component the only chance you have is trying to find who sells the same or similar electronic parts on the market.

Regards

Hi i just got an Ideapad Flex 15 and my touchscreen stopped working after it goes to sleep mode or a restart, and start working again after 2-5 minutes.  I reset the computer to initialsettings and it worked like intended, but once i get into windows 8.1 and install a few programs it did it again This is what i had installed so far:AVG free AntivirusMic Office 365CcleanerMozilla Firefox Drivers say they are all up to date.   It have to be a software/driver issue as the touchscreen worked perfectly on windows 8.0  is kinda annoying and i dont expect this kind of issues with a new PC

Do you see anything special in event viewer? Right click on Start icon and select event viewer. Put errors and Warnings you see after the upgrade over here .... Also try updating drivers from here, microsoft drivers are sometimes funky:http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS037056

Hello, dears! Sorry if I missed the section, I'm a newcomer I bought my Lenovo IdeaPad B590A with Windows 8 a week ago. Having used it a bit I happened to cover the lid. My notebook turned into the sleep mode. It requests a PASSWORD now, but I have no idea what password? Thus, now I have 2 screenviews upon Restart: 1) Screen with LENOVO sign and 2) screen with a profile photo (empty), the number " 1" and the line for a password. But I did'n created a password. Some people recommended that I use Restart and then press F8 button for a 'safety regime' opening for Windows. The problem is the notebook does not show the Windows screen - only Lenovo screen and Rquesting password screen. Is there any chance to remove this password request so that I could enter finally?I'd be grateful for any advice,

Answer:IdeaPad B590A - dropped into sleep mode when lid was covered and requests a password

Hi Ekaterina,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your B590A Laptop is waking up on a Password prompt which you have not created, but let me inform you that without creating the password for the current user account the popup will not be prompted at the startup. As it is displaying password for a Single user, I strongly suggest you to perform OSRI (Operating System Re-Install) using OKR (One Key Recovery) by clicking on OKR button provided in the computer, below is the link to download the User Guide for the steps to perform OSRI and refer page no. 1 to locate the OKR button and page no. 27 for the steps to perform OKR.

NOTE: Please backup the data in the computer before performing OSRI, as the data will be completely erased.

I just recently bought this laptop. It's a beautiful machine. My only issue is with its sleep function. As soon as you open up the lid to turn the computer back on after putting it on sleep mode, all you get is a black screen. The fan runs intermittently and the battery icon remains lit while the power button flashes on and off. The only remedy I've had so far is just to either turn on or turn off the laptop whenever it's not in use, but it can be a little inconvenient when it comes to time. Has anyone had this issue? I'd appreciate some assistance. Thank you,Cesar

I recently bouht refirbished Yoga 500-15IBD, It has Intel HD 5500 and GeForce 940M. When I bought the laptop online I was under the impresion that the display is FHD. Unfortunatly the maximum resolution that I see in the Windwos 10 display settings is 1366x768. Is this a software issue or the display is not FHD? I am wondering if it is possible that seller changed the original FHD display with HD display. I can't find the full spec of the laptop. Machine Type Model: 80N600FWUK.

Answer:Yoga 500-15IBD no FHD

Hi, I recently bought a Yoga 2 Pro, and it's a good laptop except that the keyboard doesn't disable when in stand- or tentmode. It does disable when it's in tablet mode. I figured it was a driver I accidentally uninstalled but that doesn't appear to be it because the issue was still there after I reinstalled Windows 8.1 ( i didn't have anything on the laptop yet so I didn't loose anything). Has anyone experienced this or have a fix for it? Is it a hardware issue? Joran

Answer:[Ideapad Yoga 2 Pro] Keyboard not disabling in stand and tent mode.

If you just got it, exchange it. It is obviously defective.

Hello Yoga community,  I have had my Yoga for several months now and love it for the most part, but there have been a few bugs that I can't seem to fix. The issue I am most concerned about is this:  Sometimes when the laptop tries to sleep (either because I left it sitting for a while or because I closed the lid), the display goes dark but the fan stays on and the laptop overheats. When I try to bring it back, there is no response to any keys, so all I can do is hold the power button until it shuts off. I can't find any solutions that address this specific issue. I am really not comfortable shutting down my computer in this way, but have had to do it at least 5 or 6 times in the past couple of months. For now I realize that I can turn off the sleep mode, but I really want to fix the issue rather than resign myself to using a computer that can't sleep. If you could help explain what is happening to my laptop, or know of any ways to prevent this from happening when my computer tries to sleep, please let me know!  Your advice will be much appreciated!

Answer:Yoga 13 sleep mode problem: overheats and becomes unresponsive instead of sleeping

hi  samswan,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you try to:
1. Reboot the computer into the BIOS by holdiong Fn and continuously tapping F2 (Fn+F2)
2. In the BIOS, press F9 to load setup defaults and press F10 to save and exit settings.
3. When you're in Windows, enable sleep mode and press the power button and check if the power light is blinking (this indicate that the unit is going to sleep).
4. If you still get the same problem, re-install Intel Rapid Start Technology by running D:\drivers\IFFS\setup.exe

Let me know your findings

Cheers

I recently realized that my computer is unable to enter sleep mode, regardless whether I try to use the power button or close the lid (the display shuts off, but then freezes for several minutes, and ultimately shuts down instead of going to sleep). Strangely, on rare occasions, I found that closing the lid did cause my computer to sleep rather than shut down. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and/or how I can resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought my laptop in 2015 and unwarranted, I'd like some help to get full functionality back into my laptop. While the subject states my problem, I do have some ways of getting use out of the computer:It can turn on if the battery is fully drained and after the computer is plugged in; it takes 8 days to drain. [Pressing and holding the power button only results in the PC flashing its backlit keyboard.] The battery can recharge and the PC can run on battery just as long the PC does not shut down, go to sleep, or the lid closes.Battery removal with the PC plugged in: the PC can always turn on, but when closing the lid or shutting it off, the power cord has to be unplugged and plugged back in.Additional computer information:-Windows 8.1 with updates-Installed BIOS update and Windows hotfix update from Lenovo.com

While I like most things about my Yoga 14 notebook, it has this annoying habit of going to sleep about 1 minute, even when it's plugged into a OneLink+ docking station.   I have the OS updated to the latest Windows 10 Creator's Edition and all device drivers up-to-date.   It's done this since I bought the machine earlier this year and I haven't been able to figure-out how to get it to honor the sleep settings in Windows.   Is there a BIOS setting or something that is forcing it to go to sleep after 1 minute?
