Preferred Solution: Application Error after trying to install Flash Player 18

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Have XP with all recent updates. When going to, I can't load Flash Player. I keep getting the following prompt - iexplore.exe - application error... This memory could not be written See attachment for screen shot of the application error message with additional coding information.
Here is what I have tried so far without success:
When prompt appears - tried clicking cancel to de-bug...Results in computer freeze. Usually have to reboot.
Removed all past flash players versions from hard drive.
Scanned for virus and spy-ware - None found.
Tried the Repair Registry Software that claims it will solve this problem. It didn't help.
Security set to medium / custom setting to enable active X settings
Tried loading older versions of Flash Player to no success. Get the same prompt.
I'm at a loss as to what needs to be done. Can anyone provide suggestions?

Answer:Solved: Flash Player - iexplore - Application Error

When you say 'load', do you mean that you are attempting to install or upgrade the Flash plugin for IE? Assuming the Adobe site works for you, try this version tester to see what, if any, version you currently have; (the latest is 10,0,32.18).

Newer versions of Flash should be uninstalled with the special Adobe uninstaller, if you didn't use it, try it now in case your problem has something to do with leftover components of old versions of Flash; Note that if you have other browsers installed, the uninstaller will remove their Flash plugin as well and you will need to replace it.

If the uninstaller doesn't help, you could try following the advice in this Adobe Troubleshooter; Hopefully, the Registry 'repair' tool you ran hasn't done any permanent damage. Those things rarely do any good!

When browsing certain places like youtube, myspace, and others I keep getting the message that I need to install Adobe Flash. The problem is that I have done this numerous times and the problem still persists. It's really become quite annoying and I have no idea what to do. My wife and I have different accounts, but when I log on under her account everything is fine. No messages no nothing and I can actually view the sites as they were intended. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64
Primary browser: Opera (stable)

I know Flash is *supposed* to be included in all versions of 8/8.1, but it's my understanding that this generally only applies to Internet Explorer, not 3rd-party browsers. Most other browsers still need to have their own specific version of Flash for that particular browser.

I can watch YouTube, etc, in IE and Opera, but certain sites (in Opera) say I still need to install Flash and won't play videos until I do, I've done this before, it solved the issue, and Flash worked on all websites that support it. And I know these messages I'm getting aren't malware, popups/popunders, etc, I'm not an average user and know how to keep my PC clean and distinguish these kinds of things. Also, I don't want to install Firefox, Chrome, etc, just to watch videos on my favorite sites, anyone who suggests this will be dismissed out of hand and without consideration. Opera has been my main browser for years and Flash has never failed to install on any Windows OS/browser, up until now.

How can I resolve this? Is there a way to completely purge all traces of Flash from 8.1 and do a clean install? I've tried rebooting and then running the installer again, but it just gets to 90%, hangs there for a minute or so, then gives a failed message. I've ran an sfc /scannow, no corrupt system files found. All available Windows Updates are installed, drivers are up to date.

Thanks for any help!

I get a message when viewing certain web pages that I need to install Adobe Flash Player. I install it, restart the browser and/or restart the computer and get the same message again to install Flash Player. The result is the same with IE7, FireFox and Chrome.

I've installed Adobe Flash Player several times. Finally, I found a site from which I could download the installer and run it from my desktop. That didn't help either.

I have disabled antivirus and all internet security programs. I also recently formatted the only partition on the only hard disk, restored the computer to its original factory configuration due to malware infestation. I am certain there is no malware involved. I also enabled scripting in IE7.

Answer:Installed Flash Player and still getting messages to install Flash Player

Check your current version of Flash, assuming there is one, by going to this page; Unless your 'restoration' has left you with a really old version, you may have to run the Adobe uninstaller first (unless you have already!);

This will remove the Flash plugin from every browser you have installed, so you will have to reinstall the Active X version for IE and the non Active X one for the others. These links work for me if I use the relevant browser to d/l them, but if I click on the IE link using Opera, I get the version for Opera;

IE : (read the installation instructions carefully)

Firefox, Opera etc.:

Hey ,

since I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 I'm getting a wierd problem. Sometimes my Browser ( FF 3.5 , IE8 , Opera10 ) stops responding. I have to close it via Task Manager and re-open it. When viewing a video on youtube , it stops responding immediately.
I cannot use Windows Media Player , ICQ , Skype or any Internet Browser until I reboot. The event history is only giving me a " 1002 - Application Hang ".

I think it has something to do with Adobe Flash Player. If I uninstall , the problem goes away - but I cannot live without Adobe Flash

My Problem is very similar to another one from this board :

I also tried uninstalling the Flash Player and reinstall it - but it doesn't help.

My System :

ECS Elitegroup A-780GM-A
2GB Geil Ultra DDR2-800 CL4
ATI HD4850 512M
Cosair VX450W PSU
Athlon 64 6000+ X2

PS: Sorry for my bad english

Answer:Application Hang / Flash Player 10

You can only use flash in x86 browsers.

I.E. x86 is included in the x64 Windows install.

Hey guys,

I'm having a similar issue that the user had here:

Where basically, after going to YouTube a number of times, my browser (Firefox) hangs along with other applications in Windows 7 such as: Windows Media Player, Steam, etc. This issue also occurs with Internet Explorer as well, not just Firefox. In order to use these programs again, I have to restart my computer.

This is error message I specifically receive for Firefox:

The program firefox.exe version stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: df0
Start Time: 01cab04181311ad9
Termination Time: 38
Application Path: E:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
Report Id: 6973602b-1c59-11df-b4c0-00270e00352b

So far, to remedy this problem, I have tried:

1) Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Adobe Flash Player.
2) Using CCleaner and Ashampoo to see if it was some kind of registry/program issue or whatever that could be sorted out.
3) Virus scan with Norton AV 2010 and Malwarebytes. Removed any infected items, but the problem still persists. I don't believe it's a virus or spyware because I scan regularly and it doesn't seem to affect the issue I've been having.

So my question is: is there anything I could do that I haven't done yet to try and fix... Read more

I just installed windows 7 today, and I just find out that the flash-related application - you tube and Facebook flash game crashes whenever I tried to launch them.

I had followed the instructions in adobe, uninstall and reinstall adobe player 10, but it doesn't solve the problem...

Also, I tried IE 8, and google chrome, and both of them are facing the same problem.

I think the problem lies in Microsoft or Adobe itself because I didn't experience the problem in Windows 7 RC.

Just when I wanna give a thumbs up to 7, problem comes

What are you generally doing when you receive the screen (e.g., Internet, other application not involving internet, etc...)? Do you debug app crashes or kernel dumps - or is that one of the mysteries here?

I have recently been getting a message to update to adobe flashplayer pro to view site and have been also getting a message to update the media player. I looked at the versions  I am running and they are the latest. I was told to do the Adobe while I was navigating to this page just a moment ago. When I am at some sites I have also gotten a box that says my media player is infected and needs to clean files. While in home page I have gotten a poor pc performance box that comes up and it is kind of shaking when it appears. I don't know if this is an infection or what but am very wary of this type of stuff after fighting with other infections in the past. I posted this in another forum and was instructed to possibly try this one. Please let me now if you may need more information and I will reply. Thank you for your time and efforts. Jack Perrin.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player. I have went to Adobe site to do a test, it says it is installed and working. Here is the problem. I have been to two different site for employement to fill out the companies online application, however I am getting messages that keep telling me to install an updated browser( I use IE8) Which I have installed several times and/or my flash plugin needs to be installed. Okay so here I have installed a browser update to IE8 and have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe flash player which according to Adobe has installed successfully and working. I have also contacted the companies where I have experience the problems they say it's my computer not them.

Answer:Flash Player Plugins is installed and working? But won't work for business application

Is this the test you ran to check your version of Adobe Flash?; If not, run this and see if it confirms your version as Alternatively, you could try the test at this site (which is optimized for IE) to see if it confirms that you have the various plugins etc;

Assuming the tests are positive, there is one more thing you could do, which is to try installing a 'standalone' version of Flash;

If none of this helps, you may be a victim of an IE 8 problem which I can't help with, but someone else here may be able to. Depending on whether you use XP or Vista, it may be possible to revert to IE 7 (or better still, use Firefox or Opera). Wait and see what others advise.

What does someone need to know about installing something like Skype onto a usb flash drive as a portable application? There is a website which shows a listing for Skype. Some things seem unclear. One can install to a usb flash drive, what I may like to do. Would one download the installer for the portable Skype to the computer or to the flash drive itself? When the installer is then run and the destination for the install is picked, as to the usb flash drive, does the computer itself have registry entries and other files put into Windows System/System32 folder, which would not be on the usb flash drive? Then how are the flash drive and the computer from which the installation was made, be coordinated or associated after installation? What then should happen if later one wishes to update or upgrade to a higher version the portable Skype? Need to go back to the same computer and the same flash drive and run an update or upgrade installer? What about uninstalling?

If instead of an installer, the portable application were to be merely in zipped form needing to only be unpacked onto the flash drive, then this would appear simple; but one seems to be directed to download and INSTALLER, not a zipped package.

Okay, This one is a bit hard to explain.

I have a burnt copy of Flash on disk which I wanted to install onto my computer.
Just to clear up, not Flash Player (Like to watch things) but the application (to make things) Got it?

So, I open up the file in Windows Explorer.
The disk also contains some flash movies and stuff.. but they shouldn't be a problem.
Before I can even click anything, an error message pops up
"Windows Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close"

Extremely annoying.

Now before you all go to the easy solution of "Its a virus"
I assure you, I am well protected with Norton 360 and my two friends have never had any problems with the disk previously.

Help would be much appreciated !!

Thankyou =]

Answer:Explorer/Flash Application Error. Please Help.

Hi lustmyeyes

Did you resolve your error?

I imagine you'd be fine if you move the flash installer & it's files to another disk -- likely some other file on your current disk has a file-extension that is assigned to Explorer, which can't run it and throws up the error.

Another tactic would be to disable Autorun on the CD/DVD drive temporarily.

Best of luck

AFAIK W7 and IE11 does not automatically download flash. Nor is it via Windows Updates. Flash can be downloaded from Flashplayer but be very careful to untick the McaFee scan. After install you have the option for autoinstall of updates or for notification of updates. I choose the latter.

Hi all, when surfing the net I've noticed that on some sites there is a red X in the corner of what looks like a picture, but I cannot access it, then on others with the same red X mark I'm told I need to download flash player to view, however I thought that I already had it, so I've tried downloading it and installing it and all that happens is the install window just disappears and nothing else happens, I'm not sure but I was wondering if Zone alarm could have something to do with this, I've not long had it on my computer, I feel it could have something to do with some of the software I've been running over and above the regular freebies I've downloaded from the Major Geeks website e.g. Crap Cleaner, XP registry scrub, Blaster, Spybot and Adaware, in zone alarm in program control under Run a DLL as an application it has 4 x red X's, could this be the problem? any help would be appreciated.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate with all available updates. When I bring up a website in IE 7 that has a Flash section on it I get an error message that says "This content requires Adobe Flash click here to install it." When I install it I still get the same message.
When I bring up the same websites in Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome the Flash shows work perfectly.
I tried upgrading to IE 8 v2 but I still cannot play a Flash show in Internet Explorer.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If so, I would be very appreciative.

Answer:Flash Player won't install.

I just visited the Adobe website and was able to upgrade my flash player to v 10 on IE8, with default settings and Protected Mode 'On'.
In your case, I suggest you try the following:
Uninstall Adobe Flash Player plug-in & Activex control using its Adobe Flash Player uninstaller.
Delete contents of folder C:\Windows\System32\Macromed
Now try to install it again from Adobe Flash Player
If it doesnt help please see Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows
Else try the stand alone installer of this flash player and see if it works.

Are you folks still installing flash on your computer?

Hi there.

My friend has a problem with Windows XP.

He's just rebuilt his computer, but he doesn't like Windows 7 (and hates 8) so he's decided to stay with Windows XP.

He's trying to install Flash Player, but keeps getting error messages like this one: src

Specs: Windows XP SP3, IE 8, all updates applied (as far as I can tell, the Windows Update control panel in XP isn't great.)

He's got Norton Internet Security, but he's tried it with that disabled and the same error happens.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Flash Player won't install

Your friend could try working through the advice in the Adobe Troubleshooter, particularly the section under Download issues headed 'Progress bar hangs during download...';

That provides links for the .exe versions of the plugins required for IE and the non Active X browsers. It wouldn't hurt to run the special Adobe uninstaller as well before attempting a new installation of the plugins.

Answer:Can't install Flash Player

hmmm, I don't have Flash "installed" on my system, however, the Chrome browser I use has a built-in version. I have no bother playing any media that needs it.

I have no idea how FF handles Flash, I assume FF has a similar 'feature' to Chrome?

Is this any help?

someone using FF on the forums should be able to help you further.

Dell OptyPlex PC about 7 years old XP sp3.

When I try to install FP a box pops up informing me "Only a single instance of this can run"

I've run Dell's diagnostics, checkdisk, sfc, malware and spybot, use Norton products, ran numerous programs. I'm virus free and no HD flaws.

I booted in safe mode with internet access and still couldn't install FP. So I've deduced that it must be a driver that is used even in safe mode. Anybody have any ideas which drivers might be the problem?

Answer:can't install Flash Player

You don't say why you are trying to reinstall Flash but you can't do it anyway. You have to use the Flash uninstall tool at the link below and then install a fresh copy. Don't try to use Add/Remove Programs because it won't work.

I have to install flashplayer every time I see a video. Any ideas.

I would use the Flash Player uninstaller first from here: Follow the directions for use on that page.

Restart your machine once it's uninstalled. After you restart your machine, go here to download the latest version. Follow the directions to install it.

I've noticed that lately when I try to go to Youtube or any other site that requires flash player, I get a message that tells me I need to upgrade my Flash player, even though until recently I had the latest Flash player and it worked fine. I've tried many times to re-install it and even uninstalled the version I have, but when it gets about halfway through the install process it tells me to close the Adobe Flash installer. I'm not sure how to get word for word messages, as I use a screen reader, and you have to use the Jaws cursor instead of the regular one, which doesn't allow you to select or read it well enough to relay word for word what's happening on the screen.

I did have a lot of junk on my computer including the infamous alureon trojan according to my antivirus program, that it couldn't get off, but I ran DDS Killer, which was installed on my computer by an IT guy at an organization for the blind because Windows Defender offline was absolutely not accessible for me, and after I used that, when I did another scan with my anti-virus program, which is Microsoft Security Essentials, and also did a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-malware, I got a clear scan, but Flash player only works when I use Google Chrome. Oh, i use Windows 7.

Tried downloading the file off the internet that didnt work either.

simply turning off kaspersky might not suffice, there could be still kaspersky services running in the background. bring up the task manager and stop any related processes.

What I've done:
Disabled antivirus program.
Enabled Active X.
Removed Flash Player and a plug in from my computer.
Downloaded Flash Player, clicked and double-clicked as directed.
Clicked OK in "can't run two instances" dialog box.

Then nothing happens. What else should I do?

I should tell you that my troubles began when I foolishly installed a program that I found on the internet, after which my computer slowed to a snail's pace. Uninstalling the offender didn't help, so I enlisted a techie (not cheap). He removed something that must have sneaked in with the program that I installed, and my computer got zippy again, but I guess my flash player was compromised, because I started getting messages that I needed it.

PC seems to have become infected. It was presenting streaming videos fine last week. Can't imagine what may have happened to disable video. Three browsers, IE8, Firefox, and Chrome say I need to install it. I think it had Flash ver. 11 when streaming video was OK. When problem started and I tried to install latest player, ver. 17.  I was advised to uninstall whatever was installed, then download newest which is ver. 17 from Adobe site. But that will not install. I did try disabling AVG software. No help.
I tried to attach Error msg. window and computer specs/description from Speecy app. but can't figure out how to locate the button for that.

I doubt not being able to install flash player is a symptom of an infected machine, so maybe this is the wrong forum section to ask for help.
Still, can you screenshot the error message, and upload it to imgur (or any image host service you want), and then post it here?

Hey there!
I?m experiencing a BSOD everytime any kind of Flash is needed (e.g. watching Youtube videos, playing flashgames on facebook). It?s the same pattern over and over again: The Application works for about 10 minutes, then the BSOD appears. Games are not affected, Skyrim and Rage are running perfectly.

My system:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit Full Retail, installed 4 Weeks ago.
ASUS P7P55D Mainboard
Intel i5 750
Radeon HD 6950 2GB (Catalyst 11.11c)
Samsung HDD 1 TB
4 GB A.Data Ram, 1333

Caused by driver "dxgmms1.sys"
Caused by adress "dxgmms1.sys+1011b"
Crashadress: "ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40"
What I tried until now:
I combed the desert for solutions and advice. So I reinstalled my graphics drivers, checked my RAM with Memtest86, scanned my HDD for erros, disabled one unneeded sound driver, reinstalled flash player and plugins, updated my browser to Nightfly (64bit version of Firefox) and drank coffee...a lot of coffee But nothing except the coffee helped, no errors were found and the BSOD still is reproductable.

So what the hell can I try now? Can anyone of you help? ^^

Answer:BSOD using any flash application, error 0x00000050

Hiya, well I just got a new laptop and I've been trying to install Adobe flash and shockwave player. Basicly it doesn't even give me an error message, all it does is is bring me the same page other and other again. I just keep clicking "Agree and install now" and it keep loading the same page. Active X is already enabled, I've tried the debugger, and uninstalled the version it says I already have. (In add and remove progams it says "Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX" Or something close to that.) But YouTube won't load, my email won't load unless I use the basic HTML, basicly anything that needs flash won't load. Nothing working, I've looked at it on my roomate's compter and I've noticed that it doesn't even give me the "install google toolbar" Thanks in advance.I have Windows Vista Home basic, but I was thinking of swcitching back to XP. Do you think this would help the problem? This laptop is new so I still have like 220GB of RAM. Space isn't the problem seems to be the site. Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.

Download the wrapper package Unzip the zip file to a directory, for example C:\w2k-wrapper Run the bat file ?INSTALL_WRAPPER.BAT? in the directory C:\w2k-wrapper\install\ Restart your computer in order to register the DLL?s Move the downloaded flash player update file ?install_flash_player_32bit.exe? to C:\w2k-wrapper\bin\ Now you may start the update by doubleclick on the exe-file

I have installed flash only to have sys crash. was wondering also, if you've tried the 10_1r102_64 FP package. One crash and recovery is enough for me as there is NO OS disks to recover with, LOL, this sys only has so many lives, don't want to use the last one up yet if I can avoid it.

Answer:I can't install adobe flash player.

Have a look at the Adobe Troubleshooter;

If you are trying the install via the main Adobe website, and it isn't working, have a look at the section headed 'Download issues' and the paragraph beginning 'Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile'.

There are links in that paragraph to .exe versions of the plugins which you download and doubleclick to install (having closed your browser(s) first).

I'm truly hopeful that you'll be able to help. I've tried everything I know to do and have gotten nowhere.

Whenever I sign onto the Internet, I get an AOL Security Warning message telling me that the Flash Player is ready to install, with buttons for "Install now" and "Don't install." This message appears whether I use AOL or other software.

It doesn't matter which one I click, the message pops up EVERY TIME (sorry for the screaming) I sign on. And, regardless of the button I click, it doesn't appear to do anything at all. When I review my list of installed programs on the Control Panel, Flash Player is already installed. Perplexing, ain't it?

Is there someplace I can turn to blow off this install message?

Answer:Flash Player install message

I don't know why you get messages about flash player from AOL, but I wonder if it could be some kind of alert that your version is out of date?

Adobe Flash Player recently upgraded to version, and if you don't already have it, you should upgrade now because the older versions have security issues. There is a version checker here;

The latest Active X version (for IE) is here;

For Netscape, Firefox, Opera etc.;

I am almost sure your Flash program installer is not letting you pick the drive to install to. You need to steer the installer to the drive with windows on it during install or make your windows drive C: by removing extras until it falls into place.  I know there is a way to force it to stay as C: but the method escapes me at the moment, if anyone knows this command please post it here for Northsoul.

Ok, officially at the head-banging stage.......Adobe Flash player will NOT intall on my Windows 7 machine. I have tried again and again and again. Or it will say "installation will complete when IE is closed." But closing IE does nothing.

I have the same problem on my netbook. I cannot get Flash to install.....I have never had this problem before.....Flash has always been an instant install, no problems. Any ideas?

I am having a terrible time trying to install Adobe Flash Player. When I went to YouTube, it told me that I either had Java disabled or needed to install the latest Adobe FP. Java is enabled, so I tried to download FP from Adobe's site and it fails with the following:
Registering :C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10c.ocx

It says 'failed to install' and directs me to Adobe's site for troubleshooting. I have tried their recommendations twice and it still won't install. I am on Windows XP. When I started I was on IE8, thenm went to Firefox- same problem. I then went back to IE7- same problem. I used a registry cleaner (twice), still won't install at all. I have tried to go back to IE8, but it too now won't install. The only other thing is that someone just gave me this computer and she told me that she had FP under IE7 and it worked perfectly fine. However, before giving it to me, she deleted programs and upgraded to IE8 for me. So, since I've had it, it's never worked. Is it possble she deleted something that is causing the problem? I have already went and downloaded ocx files- still won't install. I would really appreciate any help. I have been trying to downlaod FP for over two weeks.

Thank you

Well, that's it really. I bought an Avery Christmas Label kit and it required Flash Player. I'd originally had Flash on the previous Win 7 OS and went to Adobe to renew it. The download and install looked OK but when finished the Avery software reported that it still needed to be installed and I couldn't find the exe file for it anywhere. Anybody got any ideas, please? I've already tried it with the anti-virus turned off as suggested by Avery, in case this was the blockage, but to no avail.

My pc had a virus that I fixed and got rid of but since then adobe flash player will not work or install. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but that does nothing. What could be wrong?

Answer:flash player will not work or install

I never trust virus removal just for this reason. You really have little choices. Either try to fix this or solve it by restoring your computer back to OEM state. Be sure to save data off before you begin.Since you did have a virus, you are not using it properly. Either you don't have good protection software and or you are running under admin when you should be using a standard user account at all times. (might have disabled other protection)1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Answer:Latest Flash Player 11 won't Install

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

Download and install from HERE and see if that works.

Possible is your security software could block an install so disable your security and then try and install.

I am at my wits end trying to get Flash Player to work on a mates fujitsu laptop with Windows 7. The laptop was originally loaded with Windows 8 but he never liked it. There was a Windows 7 disc with it and he's installed that. It had Internet Explorer 11. I installed Flash Player and it said it was successful I tried the test page and it never worked. It is enabled in manage Add-ons and I have disabled Active X filtering. I have also tried installing in Firefox and a message that I need a plug in appears, when I click the plug in it says Flash player  isn't installed. In Programs and features its there  as Adobe Flash Player 15 Active X. So it is installed. I have rolled back to Internet explorer 10 and turned off His Avg Anti-virus but it still will not work. I also tried off line installers. I Googled the problem and it seems a common one. I have tried all suggestions with no luck. He's just bought a Tom-tom satnav and he cannot update it without Flash Player. Can anyone help me please. Thanks

Uninstall Flash Player with the removal tool. Then try to reinstall the FP. When installing the FP, turn Off or Snooze your AV.

(Win 7 64, IE9)
Installed the latest version of flash player (11.5.502.135) and all went well.
But when I go to some sites, I keep getting the install window anew.
I refuse the installation and have no problem on the sites.
But this is getting a real pain.
I removed Flash and installed again... got the "successful install" message.
And still, now and then, I get the install window popping up on my screen
What can I do ??????

Answer:Flash Player 11 keeps wanting to re-install !

Hi icacream,

Please follow the steps listed below:
- Open a 'flash video' (Youtube)
- Right-click and select 'Settings'
- Click 'Advanced'
- Click 'Global Notifications Settings' on the left
- Un-check the box for 'Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available'
- Close the window to save settings

You may also use the 'Global Notification Settings Panel' to configure the updates: Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Global Notifications Settings Panel

Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions; would be glad to assist.

I am using Firefox as my  browser, and my OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition v2002 Service Pack 2. My old flash player was out of date, but I have been unable to download a new version. I have been to the Adobe site more often than I can count, have gone through all of the steps, downloaded the software, but when I attempt to run it, I get an error message stating that the page cannot be displayed, etc. As soon as I close that window, I am automatically taken back to the Adobe website to begin the process anew, only to experience the same result. Then I am returned to the Adobe site, and the process begins again. And again. And again. It's like "Groundhog Day" except with computers and there's no Bill Murray. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

Answer:Flash player install fail

I'd upgrade/update for free to Windows XP SP3 and then try again. It might be that the .Net version with SP2 is too old for Flash support.I have a Windows XP Home SP3 system with latest Firefox and Flash installed and its fine with Youtube etc. Hardware is just a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz CPU and a GeForce 4 MX440 AGP with 128MB vram and the system is running on 1GB DDR 266Mhz.

I have Windows XP. I am unable to install flash player. I have gone through all the troubleshooting provided on their site, uninstalled and re-installed flash, (it says flash player 9 installed, but when I go to a site which requires a flash player, I get the notice that adobe flash player is not installed. I have tried using the uninstaller that is available from the Adobe site. I have followed this link which asked me to look in the registry, under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/permissions. The image they give is for XP Pro (and I have Home edition). On the advanced tab on the registry editor I haveAllow Everyone Full Permission <not inherited> this key only.At the bottom the box that has "Inherit from parent the permission....." is checked. How do I get the other items that listed in the example from the link?

Must have had whatever version of Flash Player required for Yahoo Chat cuz it worked fine for quite some time.

Then, without me doing anything, chat wouldn't work any more, and told me I had to have such and such a version of Flash and gave me a link to get it.

OK, downloaded it no problem.

Click on it to install and it says it's not a valid Win32 application.

Few days ago somebody suggested to delete the old Flash - couldn't find one to delete.

I'm stuck again.

Thanks for any help.

Answer:Can't install latest Flash player?

my suggestion would be to go to adobe's website and download the latest version from them. If you cannot find flash in your add/remove programs then you should check your browsers add-on/extensions and make sure to remove any versions before installing the latest.

Answer:install Adope flash player

How are you trying to install it? Go to, locate the flash installer and download it to your computer (save it to your desktop, for instance). Install it by double-clicking the installer from within your computer instead of installing it from within your browser.

Hello everyone, I have a puzzle that i can't seem to understand and that is no matter what i try to do to get Adobe Player 11 to finish installing it tells me that i do not have sufficient privileges to install, but i do have full administrator rights i am the computer administrator i checked and rechecked to be sure. can anyone help me out with this one. Answer:Abobe Flash Player 11 will not install

If you use the links in Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows to download the Installer for whichever browsers you are using, select Save then right click on the .exe where it has been saved to (Downloads ?) and select Run as administrator.

There may be other things in the article you can work your way through if that also fails and I've also read that a problematic install can be successful when booting up in a clean boot

For some reason my Adobe Flash Player for Firefox stopped working. I followed Adobe's instructions and removed the original file. Since then I have tried numerous times to download and install it again, but no matter what I try, I can't install it.

After I go to "install it", I get a message to close Firefox which I do, and then do the install. It says the install is completed, but it isn't.

Please help as I can't watch flash files anymore.

I keep getting the message "I don't have admin permission"! I created a new login, I activated the hidden adminstrator and logged in that way, I even tried doing it in safe mode as the admin.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Preminium on a custom build job. Up until about a week ago I guess is when I started having problems, seems like ever site keeps saying it wants to run adobe flash player or I need to run adobe flash player. It will download and right at the end I get the message that I need or don't have admin permission. I'm baffled and am in need of help.....thanks Rick

Answer:I've tried several methods and still can't install flash player 11

Hello Rick and welcome to Seven Forums.

Try running the official Adobe uninstaller to make sure you don't have any remnants left behind.

Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

Then try reinstalling a fresh copy. The latest version is 11.5.502.135. (Don't forget to uncheck any offered add-ons like browsers, toolbars, etc.)
