Can't uninstall a program Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\10...

Question: Can't uninstall a program Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\10...

Hi, I was running GTA San Andreas with the San Andreas Multiplayer mod on it. I began modding the gta3.img with a program called spark but I forgot to exit the Spark application before loading up GTA San andreas multiplayer. For this reason an error message was given when trying to load up GTA San andreas multiplayer. This had happened before and I used to just uninstall gta san andreas and then re-install it again and it would work again. However this time control panel -> add or remove programs thing wouldn't allow me to remove gta san andreas and i get this message

Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\10\50\Intel32\Ctor.dll

The specified module could not be found.

Please help me. I've tried deleting all the gta sa files manually using right click -> delete but the program is still present in the "Installed appliations" list in "Add or Remove programs"

I need to uninstall it so i can play again.

Please help me

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Use AUTORUNSA "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.Credit to quietman7

You should probably reinstall it if you can and try this:Revo uninstallerhttp://www.revouninstaller.com/----------------------How To Use Revo Uninstaller: Please download Revo Uninstaller. Extract the ZIP file to a folder and run revouninstaller.exe from there! (You can copy that folder to an USB Mass storage drive and use it without any installation required!) There are two ways to uninstall programs with Revo Uninstaller:
Important: Please, try to close the application you want to uninstall first! Select the application in the list of installed applications and press the Uninstall button in the toolbar. Right-click the application and click the Uninstall command in the displayed menu. Follow the instructions.

My friend's small business computer is used as a server or repository of company data and recently had noticeable issues with QuickBook Pro2002.
From my observations, the application does not launch. Also she was denied access to remove the program in the Add/Remove Programs applet.

here's the popup error: RUNDLL
Error Loading C: Progra~1\common~1\Engine\6\INtel3~1\ctor.dll
Access is Denied.
i looked down to the Crogram Files\Common Files\IntallShield...
error popups for QBPRO2002R1 (this points to QuickBookPro2002)
meaning: this file is not accessible. Access is Denied.
there are no groups or users listed in the access group.
I also tried to re-install this application. Error popped up immediately: Error installing iKernal.exe (0xa00)

My friend suspects that there is spyware infested on this system. Running on Windows XP OS.
thanks in advance!

I was searching for something on IE, and it went spastic on me and froze up or crashed or something. I used Task Mananger to end IE, and I got a box that something went wrong with. Also, I noticed that MS Visual Basic C++ opened up at the same time. Before all this, I ran spybot and removed some spyware form my PC. I think this happened once before, recently, I can't remember.

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\tsa\ts2.exe

Answer:C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\tsa\ts2.exe error

I doubt using Spybot (or Ad-Aware) to delete spyware will cause the Visual Basic error you got. Spybot (and Ad-Aware) are conservative when removing files.

This is not necessarily true for antivirus programs, which sometimes find a virus, you ask for removal, then it will, but at the cost of other things not working, say Internet Explorer won't work after Norton fixes a nasty virus lodged deep in the OS, (big deal you'd repair IE, and more important get rid of the virus) I digress. My point is when Spybot (or Ad-Aware) remove files do not suspect error messages will result.

To the best of my knowledge, Microsoft programs like Internet Explorer aren't written in Basic, and I don't see the connection between killing an IE process and your VB message.

Was that a one-time error message you got? Have you seen it again? Or did it go away and vanish when you restarted the computer?

I've recently installed W10. Previously I never had any problems with the computor, but since the installation (although may not be causal) I have regular error messages:
unable to run C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\System\SysMenu.dll
I know this has been discussed previously on the forum. But I still don't understand how to fix this.
Another problem is that, since installation of W10, my Word files often stall or block, which never happened before, so seriously affecting my work right now.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

I can't open an estimating software program on my computer. Every time I do I get the following message:

'ClearEstimates.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x5a4 (1444), Thread id=0xe8c (3724)

Click OK to terminate the application
Click CANCEL to debug the application.'

So I click Cancel and get this message:

Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.

cordbg.exe!a 0x5a4

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually. Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.'

Can someone please tell me what to do. I have tried a system restore up to the point right after I installed this estimation software, and no luck. My computer installed an update a couple nights ago and that's when it stopped working. Please help.

I was attmepting to download iPod's iTunes and I had a system lock-up during the install. I've tried to reinstall/de-install and I keep receiving an error message.

ERROR 1316: A Network Error Occured While Attempting To Read From the File C:\WINDOWS\Installer\iPod for Windows 2006-03-23.msi

How can I get a "clean" de-install? I think it may have screwed up my registry because now my computers CPU is running at 100% and I can't figure out why. I've ran registry cleaners and nothing seems to fix it. On another Techguy forum we eliminated the possibility of a Trojan.

Thanks in advance

Answer:Trying to uninstall a program that was aborted during instal

Do a backup of your registry 1st; use export and choose 'all files', then if an error is made just doubleclick and registry will be reverted. Navigate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software, and look for the folder by name and delete, then retry.

Run DLL Error MyWebSearch
Whenever, I start up my computer, I get this Run DLL Error which states:

Error Loading C:\PROGRA~2\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\mswbar.dll
The Specified Module Could Not Be Found.

I read a prior post re what appears to be this same error and run spybot, but that did not work. I ran hyjackthis and here is the log. Not sure what I should remove. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Web Search (Zwinky) still appears in my list of programs to change or uninstall, but when I try to uninstall it, I get the same error message as when I start up the computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I had mcafee id (zwinky) files as dangerous, deleted the id'd files, and now get this annoying message at every startup.

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks

error loading C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin\MWSBAR.DLL

Is the message i continually get when i log on, out of safe mode. since i have gotten that message i have no Internet connection, the light in the back lights up on reboot but then goes off when windows starts...the computer i am using now is my main. and works just fine, and i have tried to use different cables. so i am sure the problem is with that error.

i saw a thread here already about that same error, but it could not help me, because many of the steps of the fix process involved using internet, or at least the network, neither work..nor does the disk drive...

I dont know what i am to do, i have used comodo, and spybot S&D.

Ive also found something odd about it, it cuts off alot of services, including my windows audio...some help i read in another forum showed me how to turn that service on. and i noticed many other services were off...ones that were on before this error...im hoping this is enough information for somone to help me, but if there is any more i can add, please let me know.

Thanks in advance- Redrath

Hello experts !
About two years ago I bought some sofware from Paretologic, good results to fix some viruses or something but my technician adviced me to delete that software since it was fighting against other programs I had already installed. I deleted everything from Paretologic but since then it constantly appears this message
Error loading C:\Program Files\Common Files\Paretologic\UUS3\UUS3.dll
Also sometimes my PC freezes or become very slow, then I have to restart it and works fine again and so on.
Any suggestion to fix that problem ? Thanks in advance for your help, all the best, Antonio Machado.

It?s a Windows Scheduled Task entry that isn?t removed when you uninstalled the program
Go to Start All Programs Accessories System Tools Scheduled Tasks and delete the entry for Paretologic

Hope this is in the right forum ... too much choice! I've chosen this forum because Net Nanny is a significant part of the prob - I think.

I'll give as much history as may be relevant. Was using Media Player 9. Can't remember if I was getting a problem then, but upgraded to Media Player 10. Didn't realise that I should have backed up my licences and so now unable to play stuff I've purchased and get "unable to find licence" error. Read in a forum that I could try restoring to a previous restore point. Did this. Didn't help so reverted back to original restore point. I had a trial version of NetNanny which I had uninstalled. Changing the restore point seemed to half reinstall netnanny. Now I get a Net Nanny error message ("Net Nanny config file does not exist") at bootup. Then after a few minutes a window pops up asking for me to enter an activation code. If I click cancel, I then get a Microsoft runtime error which closes Internet Explorer. Internet explorer can then not be opened without rebooting. So tried to uninstall net nanny but it won't do it - get error message "an installation support file could not be found". Tried to reinstall netnanny but get message - a previous version is on your computer.

The netnanny activation window has popped up several times as I've typed this and I realise that if I just ignore it, it minimizes and doesn't stop IE. That helps for the moment, but want to get rid o... Read more

I was trying to do a clean uninstall of ZoneAlarm, as I'd been having issues with it. In cleaning the registry, I've either done something wrong or there's a bigger problem than ZoneAlarm's issues - There are no remove buttons for any app under "Add or Remove Programs". I googled a fix and discovered a bigger problem that google hasn't provided a fix for: Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion there should be an Uninstall folder. There is not.

I did some additional Windows updates (including, finally, installing IE7), and got ZA reinstalled finally, but there's still no uninstall in Add or Remove, and no Uninstall folder.

How do I recover this?

Any help appreciated!

Hi All--
I have downloaded Netscape, I believe it to be 7.2. I have Windows XP and Cox High Speed Internet.
After downloading the Netscape browser and attempting to load it, I get a runtime error which says, "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I called Cox and they stated that it is a netscape problem.
Anyone have any thoughts on what the solution may be?
Thanks

Answer:Runtime Error When Loading Netscape

Hi - It's me again--
I just discovered that I had downloaded 8.1 instead of 7.2. I uninstalled the 8.1 and downloaded 7.2 and it works fine. I would assume that the runtime error is something inherent in the 8.1.

Initially I hesitated about posting this thread here since the problem occur in my virtualpc windows 95 on my real pc winXP, but I thought RUNTIME ERROR problem is faced by all version of Windows, so I posted it here. I apologize for the inconvenience if it really does so.

I share a program (the whole bunch of files in a folder) to my virtual pc win95 from my host pc winXP. After that I tried to open the program from my virtual pc, then it says an Olepro32.dll file was missing (note: I was shocked since I don't need this file to run this program in my host PCwinXP,but it suddenly ask me here in virtual pcwin95 to run this program), so I just simply downloaded this particular file from internet and intend to put it in into the program's folder to fix this problem. After putting it into the folder, now the program supposed to be run smoothly. As I click on the program icon again(the exe. file,I assume it is understood), a small warning Window pops up, saying this : Run-time error '48'. Error in loading DLL.

What should I do now? Is this problem have anything related to the dll file I previously put in? OR it is purely another promblem?

PS: It is absolutely WEIRD, I don't need this dll file to run the program on my host pc but it is needed in my virtual pc.....Why it is so?

Thank you so much.

Hi, I recently started getting the message "Runtime Error 216 at 004045A6" whenever I launch the program MP3BookHelper. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64, and while the program stopped being developed ages ago, it has always worked for me. It still works on my laptop, which is running the same operating system as my desktop. I have done thorough scans and turned up no malware, so TimW on the MG Malware forum sent me here for help. Any suggestions on what I can do to get this program working again? Thanks so much in advance! I've pasted a link to the program below as I am guessing that most people will be unfamiliar with it.

On certain pc's we have a program that gets an error associated with Visual Basic. It is a run time error code 5.

I cannot mention what program due to security reasons. I can mention that it has a database integrated into it and was built with a Visual Basic backbone. I need at least a brief explanation as far as what the runtime error is pointing to, maybe some ideas. Just want something to point me in the right direction.

The pc's using this software are ALL XP SP2. Most have office 2003 installed on them.

We are thinking that the problem is office itself because of Access. But, upon uninstalling Office, we have found that is not the problem either.

We have narrowed things down. These are things that we know so far.

1. It is not profile corruption
2. It is not office
3. Fresh install does not help with the error
4. Files for the database were on the server: tried local with no avail
5. Tried it on several PC's in the office. Without importing the data from the server, it works like it should. Worked with database files on the server as well.

The error only occurs on the pc's that have the software in a certain office.

The other pc's that i tested on were different models than the ones that actually need the software installed. It does work with database files on those PC's. The pc's i tested them on were XP Pro SP3/XP Pro no SP.

Any suggestions would be great. But , the overall question is: Why would the run time error code 5 ... Read more

I bought my Lenovo last April and wish to backup my pc to DVDs. When I tried I received two error messages*. I then decided to uninstall Rescue and Restore 4 and download it from the Lenovo website. I uninstalled the original R&R and downloaded tvtrnr4v_117en.exe. Unfortunately, after going through the long installation process I received the following message:

Error 1304: Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Lenovo\Logger\logman.exe. Verify that you have access to that directory

When I looked at the Logger directory I found that it was apparently empty. As far as I know I have Administrator Access (I haven't creater a User Access)

Any suggestions??? (I have spent all morning on this and am getting sore eyes)

* Error 25013: Error obtaining the Rescue and Environment drive letter and

Error 25012: Error accessing the Rescue and Recovery service partition

As I have uninstalled the original Rescue and Recovery these error messages no longer apply

My girlfriend recently purchased a piece of medical report writing software called "Report Master". The program does work on Vista, but for some reason I get an error when trying to register it on her new laptop which was purchased from Costco. The error is the old classic "Runtime Error 429: ActiveX control cannot create object".

Their support line says that it is Vista compatible, and this is apparently true since it works on my home copy of Vista. They have tried doing a couple of things with her over the phone such as manually registering activex controls, but none of this worked. They seem to be at the end of their support for her, because nobody else is having this error occur with their program on Vista.

Could anyone toss out some ideas or info on this subject? Also, the weird part is that Microsoft has not responded to ANY of my emails asking about this error in Vista. It's like they're ignoring me completely.

Hi guys.

Completely new here and (almost) completely new to VBA. After running the following program I get the error saying "Object variable not set." When debugging, I know it is because the S variable is not defined, but I have tried "Set S = New ..." but I am not sure what to set the S variable to. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Code:
Sub FindNames()
Dim Acell
For Each Acell In Selection
Set Results = Sheet1.Cells.Find(Acell)
S = Sheet1.Cells(Results.Row, Results.Column - 2).Value
ActiveSheet.Cells(Acell.Row, 2).Value = S
Next
End Sub

(Titile should say 429 Runtime Error)

Running Vista Home Premium on a Dell XPS M1330, 3 Gigs Ram, 2Ghz. System in brand new. At first the program would install just fine, but, when I clicked to run it, I got the following error message "Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" when I tried to run it.
After doing the Rgedit
Both the my System32 and System files have 'MSCOMCTL.OCX', and I've already re-registered them to make sure.

When I ran Dependancy Walker, I got an error message saying "Warning: at least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependant module"

Apparently the modules are IeFrame.DLL file ( Funtions 141, 159, and 160 are N/A - Not bound), and SHLWAPI.DLL ( function 467 is not bound).

I tried simply downloading new copies of IeFrame.DLL and SCHLWAPI.DLL and putting them into the system32 folder; however, no luck...

P.S. Yes I have ownership of the program, and I'm running it as an Administrator.

My error now is A 429 Runtime Error (Active X controler can't read object), and the MSCOMCTL.OCX error message is gone...

This is a really simple program. It's no more than a program used to search multiple text books, and it works fine on XP SP2.

Please HELP.

IE8 runs slow, hangs up, or just crashes. Microsoft's suggestion is to reset Explorer. Do I have to start with a "new explorer", or is there another fix for this. It usually recovers itself, but takes a really long time to do so. Seems to be happening more and more lately.
Thanks

Greetings,

I have two issues that I am unable to resolve. They are:

1. Receive the following Runtime Error message whenever I open Outlook Express:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Programs: ...s\Trend Micro\Internet Security 2007\TMAS_OE\TMAS.exe

2. Everytime I shut down my system, I receive the following End Program message:

End Program - DirectDBNotifyWndProc

The following are my system specs: ABIT KN9S Socket X2 MoBo, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ CPU, CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM, 2 x Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA HDs, eVGA 256-P2-N445-LX GeForce 7300GT 256MB Video Card

Not sure if it this will help or not, but I've attached a HJT log...just in case.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sounds like Trend Micro's email protection is causing it. Try disabling the email scanning feature and see if you still get the errors.

Bitmeter2 installation:
When trying to install bitmeter2 I get this error message:

.net runtime library is not installed, do you want to install it?

If I say YES it directs me to a website that gives me an error message. So I go directly to Microsoft .net download site and it tells me that .net is already installed. If I say NO it aborts installation.

I have Bitmeter running on other Windows 10 computers but they were upgrades and this is a clean install.

(Only use codebox.net/ to download, others may contain crapware.)

Answer:Bitmeter2 .net runtime library is not installed, do you want to instal

Partially solved. I screwed up and downloaded some PUP/crapware (Instant Support) when downloading Firefox. The only good thing about that was it said I had an app that needed additional files. It then proceeded to download the files which happened to be older Microsoft .net Framework files. Apparently Bitmeter looks for specific older .net files (2.0 maybe). It works when it finds those files.

Could someone help me find those files and tell me where to put them?

I installed a shareware program (rmconverter) that wanted me to update my WMP runtime library from WMP8 to 9. The program didn't work, so I uninstalled it, but now another favorite app Zinf won't load, siting runtime errors - abnormal program termination.

Anybody got a clue how to fix this? I've tried reverting to older registries, no fix there. Thanks

Answer:C++ runtime error - Abnormal program termination

It is possible that they shared .dll for other files and those have been deleted. I would recommend uninstalling then reinstalling the Zinf app to see if it fixes this problem.

When you say "I've tried reverting to older registries, no fix there" do you mean a system restore?

Unfortunately some programs are not covered under a restore, so it may be lost anyhow.

I have purchased an HP officejet 5610 all-in-one, installed it, So far no problem. Scanned a picture using the icon on the desktop no problem from the administrator side..So i log off and switch users to test a scan on the other side... i don't recall if i scanned a picture from the icon on my desktop first or not, but i did decide to scan a picture by using the buttons on the printer itself. Rushing myself i pressed scan twice and it sent it to wordpad where it was saved too, mistake i think. now the scanned pic is no where to be found?? Now when i click on the icon on the users side it says Runtime Error blah blah blah, but the funny thing is (but not) is when i click on the icon on the Administrator side it's fine??? So maybe if i can locate this saved pic in my wordpad?? i will have gotten rid of this Runtime error?? Any suggestions are welcomed.. I know it's long but i had to try and explain my situation. Thanks again

Answer:Runtime Error (abnormal program termination)

Use the program supplied to scan. When you go to save choose save as,
This should give you an indication where the file was saved.

I received an e-mail today with an attachment. Usually I have no problem. However, this time the message showed up and when I clicked on the attach icon it brought up the attachment and then, almost immediately, a big box showed up in the center. It said: Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library at the top. Below that it said: Runtime Error! Program: C\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE abnormal program termination with OK in a square under it.

and I then could not see the attachment.

I tried to get the attachment three times restarting my computer one of the times. I even sent myself an e-mail with an attachment from my commercial e-mail address and got the same problem.

Help please. I am in the middle of convention planning and need to get attachments. I use Thunderbird for my primary e-mail, and Windows XP.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:how to fix Runtime Error! Program C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

I would start with running Windows File Protection. Logon as a member of the Administrators Group and Go to Start > Run and type

sfc /scannow

Notice the space before the "/". Have your XP installation CD handy, as the utility may well ask for it.

The machine setup has worked fine for several months, and shutdown without any events last evening. This morning at startup the popup with a black screen appeared. I have tried all of the suggestions posted on the treads.

Events:
Attempted to install autocad2012sp1x64.exe but it did not install due to the version installed is Civil 3D 2012 not ACAD2012.
Installed PublishDWGtoGE.zip without issues - a new icon appeared in my ACAD GUI but have not tried it yet
Changed my clear temporary files at startup script from shutdown to startup, restarted several times and seemed to work fine
Cleared several GB of temp files that ACAD C3D accumulates - this has been done several times without problems
This machine is used as a CAD workstation and is not used for games, entertainment, social networking (besides help forum threads), or other common uses that attract viruses. The only web browsing is to read the news and email.

Hello, So I just started an IT support position at a company and one of the first big problems I have, I have no idea how to solve it. I have been looking and trying things for days. Here it goes...They had this program written just for them. You put in a model number and quantity and things, then it accesses an Access database, and it will print out a page with the information on it. They only use this program from 1 computer and it is basically all that it does. Apparently one day they went to go do the same thing they always do, and when they go to print you get a Runtime Error 3421: Data type conversion error. While looking it up it looks like people have had this issue while making changes in their code and what not but I don't even have access to the source code. I don't know programming anyway. They can't remember if they have ever gotten this error code before but when they did get error codes, it would be because they wrote a letter or something instead of a number in one of the boxes. Normally they would just go into the access database and delete the mistake and it would work again. My boss said he did that this time and it is still not working. The program and the file is on a shared drive coming from the server. ALSO, when I go into the Access database they are using, I get an error saying that it cannot access the reference to "mail.ocx" version 1.0. Hello. I've been trying to update my Nvidia drivers and I haven't had this problem until now (been using Windows 10 for about a month or two with many past driver updates not giving me any problems) and I keep getting this error. Alternately, download/install NET Framework 4.0.

This message has appeared upon my wife's computer and I would like some advise dealing with it
(CLI.EXE - Common language Runtime Debugging Service)

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xad4 (27772), Thread id=(2784).

Click OK to ternimate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

So, which of these do I press.

Please could someone be kind enough to explain both of these process to me.

Many Thanks.

Answer:CLI.EXE - Common language Runtime Debugging Service.

I believe cli.exe is related to the ATI graphics driver. When it happens, you should select "ok" to terminate - there's nothing else you can do. But, in order to fix this, I would suggest you update/reinstall your graphics card drivers. If you give me the make/model of your wife's comp, I can find you the right drivers.

My BOClean Trojan fighter has identified program, C:\Progra~1\Intern~\iexplore.exe, as creating a conflict with BOCleans deep memory scan and has given me to option to place in their "Exclude" list so as to avoid a system's crash. This I have done. And while it would appear that BOClean will continue to monitor this program, it will just not perform a deep memory scan.

I am at a loss to understand just exactly what, C:\Progra~1\Intern~\iexplore.exe, does and if I have erred in allowing to be placed in the "Exclude" list.

May I have the comments of those in this forum?

Thanks,

Can anybody help me on how to get rid of this pop up

Do u think it a virus infection possibility?

Answer:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error POP UP (abnormal program termination)

Sounds like a malware problem.

Please run the steps below.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
Also to get you started and to reduce the size of your HJT log. Do the following:

Also look in Add/Remove programs for Internet2 Optimizer and uninstall if found.
After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem, boot into normal mode and make sure you follow these directions:
- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

My boss' laptop has been having huge amounts of popups--as soon as he turns it on, 10-12 pages on IE open. I have gone through all of the READ ME FIRST...instructions down to Bitdefender. I have stopped there, as there is not a link on Bitdefender to click. When I click "I agree" nothing happens. What's up with that?

NEway, this morning when he tries to open Quickbooks, it won't open and he gets: "Runtime Error! Program:c:\ProgramFiles\Intuit\QuickBooksPro\qbw32.exe Abnormal program termination". I am beside myself, as he thinks maybe I screwed something up in running all the scans, etc. HELP ME PLEASE ASAP!

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1150, 18.5gb, WinXP OS.

Try to run Bitdefender in normal boot mode and see what happens. Either way just continue. I need to see the PandaActiveScan log and then also follow step 7 exactly to get a HijackThis log attached.

Pops are probably malware. Your Quickbooks problem is not necessarily malware.
