Origin won't download error Origin.exe - Entry Point Not Found

Question: Origin won't download error Origin.exe - Entry Point Not Found

Hi, can someone please help as EA aren't helping me!

Origin was working fine until yesterday. Then it came up with this error code:

The procedure entry point _except1 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program\Origin\Origin.exe.

So I uninstalled Origin, several times and followed EVERYTHING they told me to do, manual uninstall, do it with no anti virus etc. I even tried to download from a third party website, which did progress more in the installation but still failed with even more error messages!

I have had Microsoft access my computer and they have also tried everything and have confirmed that nothing at all is wrong with my laptop (which is what EA was trying to say).

Its really frustrating now and I hope someone can help please!

I have a Toshiba laptop and I am running windows 10.

It was compatible with windows 10 as it was working for a week or so. It did keep crashing but I changed screen resolution and was fine.

I will appreciate any help, Thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This could just as easily be in the Absolute Beginners section, but here goes:I'm getting BT Broadband (the most basic package with a Voyager 205 modem/router) almost entirely to play PS2 online, but will also involve a small network (PC/Printer/Phone). However, this little hive of industry will take place at the back of the house and there are no phone plugs set up currently. To get it to the back, do I need to invest in CAT5 cabling, or can I buy bog standard 20m telephone cabling?I don't want to lose any 'juice' you see.I'm well aware that I might be talking absolute drivel, so apologies in advance!D

Answer:Network & Distance from point of origin

If everything is going to be in the back, phone cabling will do. If you want the pc in the front and the PS2 in the back, get cat5e to link to the PS2.

From Origin (or even without origin, just trying to run the game from my desktop alone), I cannot play the Sims 3 or my only expansion pack, the Sims 3 Pets.
I have two other games installed that work completely fine: Plants vs. Zombies and SimCity.

The error happens just a few seconds after trying to launch either of the Sims games, without even opening the launcher. This is what the error message says:
Code:

Sims3LauncherW.exe - Ordinal Not Found

The ordinal 304 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll.

Then, after clicking "OK" on the prompt, I get this:

Code:

Sims3Launcher

Sims3Launcher has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...

I have had 5 chats with 5 different people from the Origin online help chat, and as suggested I have tried all of the following, all to which none have solved my problem.
Logged out & back into Origin
"Repaired" games from inside Origin
Restarted my laptop
Manually uninstalled Origin, then reinstalled Origin from the Origin website
Uninstalled the Sims 3 Pets and The Sims 3 (not manually, I would need guidance for that), then reinstalled both
Updated AMD drivers
Installed Windows updates
Clean booted my laptop
Please help!

Answer:Solved: Sims 3 & Sims 3 Pets(Origin) - Ordinal 304 Error (Not Found?)

I talked to someone from EA again and was told that the corrupted files are from malware or a virus...

Hey, I'm downloading a game from Origin and my speed has shot up to 12mb/s, now I know that is impossible because the max I can ever get is 2.3mb/s.

Here is my router's page shown next to the download to prove that it is impossible lol.

At first it was downloading at my normal speed but it just gradually went up and then hovered around 8mb/s to 12mb/s for about 5minutes then it went back to normal again around 1.5mb/s.

What happened ? How is this possible ?

Thanks,
Danny K

Answer:Impossible download speed shown from Origin

This might not be the answer, though I have seen similar events.

Your d/l speed is a little down for your attenuation (but that might be because if the way your modem synchs with your exchange), and would indicate you're about 1.0 - 1.5 km from your exchange (or sub exchange if you use RIMs in the UK). With a SNR of 5.6 you must have good line quality to have a stable connection at that SNR (Typically ISPs aim for an SNR of around 6.0).

When data gets cached you can see speeds that look unrealistic. This data can be cached on your PC (If you have previously downloaded, or started to download something), or at some point close to you.

Eg. Some ISPs cache large amounts of data to give the impression they are providing better services than they really are.

Just my observations. There is probably a better explanation for this.

I recently installed Battlefield 3 and shortly after the installation Origin downloaded a ~450MB patch for the game. I would like to reinstall the game as I cannot change any of the settings in the game (graphics, key bindings, etc). Unfortunately I live in South Africa where uncapped internet is rather expensive and I am very close to using up all my data for the month. I don't want to download much more for the rest of the month and was wondering if I can access the patch Origin downloaded and manually install it after reinstalling the game. Unless anyone has any other solutions to the menu not working, please enlighten me. I will post a screenshot of what the menu looks like in game, without being able to change anything. Thanks.

Yesterday I bought a Netgear D6300 and setup my network from scratch again. My network: NTU -> Netgear Router -> 16 port TP-link Switch -> Computer 1 and 2.

After I set up the network, my computer stopped being able to connect to Origin, the Blizzard Launcher, and could not retrieve email through Windows Live Mail. In addition, I attempted to download Adobe Flash, and it hung at "Retrieving Download" and closed after timing out.

The odd thing is that my other PC (through the 16 switch too) works with all of these things completely fine. Every other device connected to the network works completely fine but this one.

It is a brand new PC, (only built last week), running an onboard Killer e2200 Ethernet adapter from a MSI-H97-Gaming-3 mobo. I have attempted several things to resolve the issue, including setting the PC as the DMZ, but nothing has worked so far.
Unsuccessful Attempts:
- Set as DMZ
- Disable Windows Firewall
- ipconfig /release -> /renew -> /flushdns
- winsock reset
- no proxies in IE. (Also reset IE to factory default)
- Resetting NTU and Router
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the Network adapter driver

Answer:Can access internet, but unable to download, connect to origin or Blizzard Launcher.

Hi Aelical,

Since the other PC is working fine, we can exclude the switch and router.

Do you have any other firewall software installed?

What antivirus program do you have installed on the problem PC?

----------

It sounds like something is blocking particular ports.

As for Windows Mail, do you use a POP3 or IMAP configuration?

Hi everyone!
This Post may be long but I want to give as much detail as possible. I believe I followed the steps correctly but if I didn't PLEASE let me know. :)

Okay, so here goes.
This is my problem: When I boot up my computer (Dell Dimension 4600 Desktop running windows XP (I'm not sure if any of that matters)) I receive a box with a blue heading that reads "ViewMgr.exe - Entry Point Not Found." The ViewMgr.exe is also sometimes replaced with QTTask.exe, GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe, Jusched.exe, hpcmpmgr.exe, AdobeCollabSync.exe, or Autolt v3: dss.exe. The message inside the window that pops up when I boot reads "The procedure SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll." This message is then followed by an ok clicker box. when I click ok it just pops up the window again with one of the other labels in the blue heading. My system is running super slow and I cannot run many programs that would let me fix this problem. I ran sfc /scannow through the windows run program and that didn't fix anything either. Such as I cannot update my Avast! Antivirus because my computer will not run the program.

When I did the Five steps before posting this is what happened:
Step 1: I could delete all of the programs that I was infected with except View Point Manager (Remove Only).
Step 2: I use Firefox and not Internet Explorer so it would not let me install PandaActiveScan because you must have Internet Explorer to download that. ... Read more

Can anyone give me a clue as to how I get rid of an entry point error I keep getting every time I boot into Windows XP Pro. I don't know where this came from and I have reached the end of my rope in trying to get rid of it. The error reads as follows:

hpqSTE08.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point ?Set Tool Tip [email protected]@@[email protected]@[email protected] could not be located in the dynamic link library hpqmfc09.dll.

I've tried replacing the .dll with a new, downloaded one, but to no avail. After I click OK on the error, the computer seems to be frunning okay. However, the error message is annoying and I would like to get rid of it. Anybody....help, please. Thanks.

Answer:Entry Point Not Found Error

Any problems with your HP printer?

You might try completely uninstalling it and reinstalling the most recent driver.

NEVER download dll's from the net. A lot are infected, they exist in multiple versions and many different ones have the same name. They could cause problems with other dll's in an OLE object that they are linked to. They used to call it "DLL H***". It could make you wish you hadn't.

If that doesn't help (and I think it will), run Autoruns. Look for references to that dll or "regsvr32".

Hi yellowfellow, welcome to BC.Your friend is correct. mcinfo.exe is part of the McAfee security suite. You may see that entry in msconfig and can disable it at startup. Before you do that though, are there any more mcafee products listed in Add\Remove?There are seperate removal tools available for each part of the security suite here.If you use the full product uninstaller, it will remove everything, including the firewall. You will want to have one pre-downloaded ready to go (but don't install until mcafee has been removed and you are physicly disconnected from the internet).Let us know.

I recently decided to go to x64 on my new system and since I got XP x64 I decided to install it on my main rig. Everything installed smoothly and even the raid drivers for the main drive installed without a hitch. I installed all the drivers and installed SP2. I keep getting this error when I try to explore my drives in my computer and my external HD. I can open files thru programs such as VLC from the drives I can seem to explore and they work just fine. Answer:Entry Point Not Found Error

I'll take a shot at this...

Kernel32.dll is basically a list of functions, or mini-programs all crammed together. ExtendVirtualBuffer appears to be a function in Kernel32.dll, The error message appears to be saying that the ExtendVirtualBuffer function is not available in Kenerl32.dll.

You should be able to verify this at a command line by calling it explicitly. The following command should execute the function. I don't know what it does, but you can run it manually.
Code:

rundll32.exe kernel32.dll, ExtendVirtualBuffer

^---Note the case. It is important!

If it "worked", my guess is nothing should happen. If it didn't work, then you should get a very similar message. You can see the "didn't work" message by changing the case.
To me, it looks like something has registered itself as an event handler for whatever it is you're trying to do. It sounds like it occurs when you double click on your drives, so think about what software you installed -- do you have anything that might manage your drives, or do something regarding your drives?

I want to point out that something in the title bar of that window. The error message is:

n.com - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point ExtendVirtualBuffer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.Click to expand...

I think the title bar is actually as important as the error message. n.com isn't something generated by windows. It looks to me like you&#... Read more

Does anyone use Origin? Tonight got an update to the client and now getting a no disk error relating to having a card reader installed on my system. Workarounds are unplug the reader (not an option as mine is internal) or keeping an sd card plugged into it so it's 'live'. Second option avoids the issue but not ideal as don't want an sd card plugged in all the time just in case that could interfere with system booting or cumulative updates. Anyone noticing this? I posted in EA forum but though I'd post on here too. I use Steam and Battle.net too and no such problems with these clients. All these clients including Origin are installed on my secondary internal mechanical hard disk (I: drive), the letters in between C and I are assigned to the memory cards and bluray drive

Hey everyone!

I have a Dell Dimension desktop running Windows XP home, and for the last few weeks I have been receiving the following error message when I first start the computer. (See attachment for screenshot)

___________

regsrv32.exe - Entry Point Not Found:

The procedure entry point [email protected] could not be locate din the dynamic link library regsrv32.dll.

____________

I have run a virus scanning program and cleared all spyware with ad-aware and spybot, but I still receive the error. I opened task manager and the process associated with this error message is "csrss.exe." The search function revealed two locations of this file on the affected computer and none on a non-affected computer: "C:\i386" and "C:\windows\system32."

I moved both files to a temporary location, but it did not solve the problem; I still get the error message every time I start the computer.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. It doesn't cause problems, but I want the computer to be working correctly. Thanks so much in advance!

-Micky

Answer:Error Message: Entry Point Not Found???

I saw this at MS's knowledge base but it was for other files (not regsrv) but it said that it was caused by file versions that were wrong.

The first thing I would try is to run the system file checker (Start, run, "sfc /scannow" [without the quotes] - be sure to have your install CD ready).

Other than that I'm not sure.

This is a somewhat recent install of Windows 7 Ultimate on an ASUS N551JQ originally running Windows 8.1. I just noticed today that, when trying to run a variety of programs, I get an error message stating the following; (This example is from the installer for The Sims, but it happens on quite a few programs including GTA V's installer and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's installer. Also, the exact same error appears two more times after clicking OK.I did a bit of research to find a fix, and ended up finding quite a few different solutions. One suggested uninstalling Visual Studio C++ 2015's runtime, which I managed to do after a bit of struggling with the uninstaller for both the x86 and x64 versions. It didn't help at all.I don't know if it's related, but I've also noticed that YouTube videos will randomly fail to play at all in Google Chrome. A restart fixes this.At this point, I'm just annoyed and don't really know where to go from this point,Any suggestions?MSI B75MA-P45 MotherboardIntel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAMSAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-XSamsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD (Windows 7 Ultimate)Toshiba 2TB HDDmessage edited by Comguy

hello & welcome to TSF ,

do you have a Windows Xp cd, not the restore cd's that come with some systems, the cd will have the Windows logo & 3D hollowgram/image on it

if you do not maybe you can barrow one from a friend/family member/co-worker as long as it is the same version that is on your system

if you have (Windows XP Home Ed. sp2 ) then the cd will have to be that / if you have a cd with (Windows XP Home Ed. )you will have to sliptream (SP2 ) onto a disk that you create

this also applies to (Windows XP Professsional )

http://www.helpwithwindows.com/Windo...p2-bootcd.html

now if you do have the Windows XP cd with sp2 please follow these steps

--------------------------------------------

performing a (sfc) system file checker

It is a scan that checks the core files & dlls of the (os) operating system and replaces them if they are corrupt or missing with the correct original version

#1 then select (run) , then press enter
a window will open

another window will open

Do you have a program called RichEdit or something similar? This error message points to a problem with a program named something like this. Do you have any apps in your startup folder that launch automatically at login? One of them could be referencing this file.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I am using Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4550 Pentium 4 computer. I scan for viruses and Spyware as best I know. When I click on a user I get the following Error Message.

"Direct CD. EXE-Entry Point Not Found" (on the top left of the small window)

and

The procedure point Cdudf_IsMedaBlank could not be located in the dynamic link library ( in the window with an "OK" button)

I have no idea what this means. I am recently having problems with the computer and I thought I would start with this. Aside from being unusually slower, every once in a while, in the middle of surfing or using word or excell, the screen goes blank and returns to the user log on screen.

All and any help is greatly appreciated.

Candy from Chicago

Answer:Error Message: Direct CD.EXE-Entry Point Not Found

Hiya and welcome

Are you using DirectCD from Roxio? If so, have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software? It may have become corrupt somehow.

Also, can you post a log as well:

go to http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Regards

Okay, the title sounds vague, but I can give more information.

I am currently running Windows Vista on my HP Pavilion laptop. About a month ago, I started having an issue when Vista launched. After all of the pre-load process had finished executing, I got a message that said that Windows Explorer had stopped responding, and was restarting. Then a whole slew of programs and Windows services went through the same process. Everything from McAfee to my touchpad management software either restarted or stopped all together, and then the computer rebooted.

Now whenever I start up the computer, I still get the same problem with the following two processes: Windows Explorer, and Task Scheduler Engine. The computer does not go into a forced reboot anymore.

Certain programs have not worked properly since. The most notable are IE, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger. IE behaves like I have no active connection, and I can't sign into either of the messengers. Oddly enough, Firefox works just fine - no problems connecting to the net and opening pages.

As I am the only one who uses this computer, I have no idea where this could have come from.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I have tried asking for help with this issue on EA's Answer HQ and no one there could help me fix this issue in the past. And don't even get me started on how helpful their Live support is.

When ever I try to run digital copies of any Sims games, it crashes before the launcher even appears on my desktop. This is an error with the paul.dll file that is included with the games. No one can give me any real help or advice that actually works, and since this is an issue with a dll file I thought I would ask here. How can I fix this issue so I can finally play Sims again? Thanks.

Answer:Paul.DLL error when trying to launch Sims via Origin

Hey,

I'm not familiar specifically with the Sims games (well, I've only ever played the first one on console) but what I can do is try to troubleshoot this from a technical point of view for you (one of the few things I am good at).

Ok, so the first step and probably something you've been asked to do time and time again, is to get a DxDiag log, you can do this by going to the start menu, going to run and typing in "dxdiag", then press OK or the enter key and when the program opens click "Save All Information", save the file to your desktop and then attach it to this thread.

It would also help me if you could post the full text of the error, for example does it just say there is an error in "paul.dll" or does it say something more detailed like "Error 2091A occurred at offset 0x0001bf3a in paul.dll" etc. These additional error codes can help me to narrow down exactly what is going on.

Finally I have to ask, have you tried doing a full reset of the Sims?
These are the instructions for The Sims 3, I don't know which version you're using, would be useful to know

I am fixing my Grandad's computer which runs on Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.

Whenever I start up the computer, the following error message appears:

W2SCLDR2.exe - Entry point not found
The procedure entry point apsGetReady could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll

That's all the relevant information I think I have. All I can gather from doing Google searches is that it might be something to do with the registry, but other than that I haven't been able to find much. Most of the results I've looked at seem to be completely useless and unhelpful as to finding a solution, they all seem to be trying to sell some software to fix it, so I've come here.

Thanks.

I'm experiencing an issue every time I open Windows Live Mail 2012 on my Windows 7 PC.

As it starts up it throws up the following error message:

"Outlook Express FolderSync Window Class: wlmail.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in the dynamic library MSVCR110.dll."

After I click OK to this, the message will repeat half a dozen to so times but eventually Live Mail will open and run normally (or so it seems).

I've run anti-virus and anti-malware software in case I'd picked up something malicious that was interfering with Live Mail, but found no relevant results. I've also run maintenance programs to check for corrupted files or bad sectors on the HDD (etc) that might mean the needed file is unreachable, but found nothing.

Finally, I tried un-installing Live Mail and then re-installing it in the hopes that this would replace the unfindable file, but again this had no effect.

At this point, I don't know what else I can try to resolve this issue. Can someone please give me some suggestions what to try next? Thanks.

I've gotten the BSOD three times over three weeks for no apparent reason. I haven't installed any new hardware or software recently, either.

When I ran my report, it said 44% of my events were missing and that I should investigate it. I have no idea how to do that, unfortunately. It also said that I have no anti-virus, but I do (Avast!).

I have attached my System Health Report and filled out my System Specs to the best of my ability. I am no computer tech, but I'm not a noob, either. If you need anything else from me, please guide me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Answer:BSOD 3x in 3 weeks, unkown origin, error 0x0000003b

All three say a system service got bugged out by the same exact instruction attempting to use an invalid memory address to read memory with. The faulting service was AWWService.exe, which is part of Ad-Aware. I reckon this is in conflict with your Avast, as it's not wise to have two AV engines running simultaneously like this as they could trip over each other. You can try and update both Avast and Ad-Aware, but the best thing to do is stick with leaving one on (preferably Avast) and leave the other off, only to use it for the occasional scan.

I started to have an error recently and it's very annoying and I can't get rid of it. I suppose it is connected to some .net framework stuff or something related.
Windows 7 x86.
It reads:

"x_process.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point I_RpcBindingSetPrivateOption could not be located in the dynamic link library RPCRT4.dll."

x_process can be different and so far it varied as Fences.exe (it's a Stardock Fences application I used for a long time), MOM.exe and CCC.exe (which are amd video card related processes) and they pop out multiple times at a windows startup and also almost at every full screen application start too, it gets very annoying and sometimes it pops out pretty randomly while watching something etc.
Mostly its Fences.exe that gives me this error frequently. It never happened before.
I THINK it supposedly started after I installed couple of games and they also brought some c++ distributable installations with them, one 2010 and another 2012, I actually already even deleted them too. And I repaired my .net framework 4.5. Nothing changed, still have the error. I used the .net framework integrity check tool as well, all good, all verified. Google hasn't helped much too. And I don't see any visual basic installed on my pc, which is the culprit in many similar cases.
I also checked my OS HDD for errors, it's all ok. Used sfc /scannow and no errors. System restore haven't helped too. DLL suite found a lot... Read more

Hi guys,

Basically I've acquired an old PC from a friend, I don't really know a great deal about the computer except that it is an Winfast motherboard with an AMD 64 Athlon processor.

I've been trying to fix the PC but when I try to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate from a disc the computer repeatedly crashes and shuts down after copying files reaches 100% or before.

I have also tried to load a Windows 8 installer and a Ubuntu live CD, but it still seems to crash after running for a while.

I have feeling that it may be an error relating to the graphics/video card, (which is intergrated into the motherboard). Because sometimes the screen shows just lines. I tried playing with the bios once (pheonix bios) but this stopped it from booting and gave the post beeps to tell me there was a problem with the video card. However I reset the CMOS on the motherboard and it now boots but still crashes when trying to install windows 7.

Are there any other ways around this? i.e. disabling the video card manually, or any other solutions? Kinda hoping this isn't a hardware related problem.
Thanks in advance!

Answer:Boot error, unknown origin, ideas to make this computer boot?

Is the Windows Ultimate disc a retail copy? Or a burned disc? Or?

Is it a 64-bit disc?

I have never heard of the Winfast motherboard brand. It may be too old to support this version of Windows?

For the last past few days, I have been getting the errors saying that "The procedure entry point setupapi.CM_HW_Prof_FlagsA could not be located in the dynamic link library CFGMGR32.dll".
2 of these pop-up evey hour or so. First one with a title "random number.exe - Entry Point Not Found" and second one with a title"41.exe - Entry Point Not Found". The second ones are always 41.exe. The error message is same on both errors.
How do I fix this?

Answer:Entry Point Not Found?

Better run Ad-Aware and Spybot to check for malware. But for those specific errors, have you searched for the files? See if you can find them, check their properties, and try deleting them. You can restore them if you don't empty the trash.

Eh... yeah, this is bad. I don't have a good feeling about this. So yesterday, I went to bed fine, my computer was great. I leave it running usually. I wake up... I can use everything normally, that was opened. I didn't try to run a new .exe file.

So I was using Firefox fine, and msn too. Then, I wanted to watch a video with media player classic, and I get an entry point not found error. Notibly I was concerned, but I figured it was just a corrupted file within the realm of the media player, not my computer.

So, I decided to try and open up taskmanager. As soon as I do, this is the error I get "

The procedure entry point NdrtypgUnmarshall could not be located in the dynamic link library RPCRT4.dll." Also, something to note, is that if I click okay on the error, it just pops back up, so I can't get rid of it. My cursor has also returned to the original version, (I'm using cursorXP).

I went to system32 to check if I still had the .dll file, or if it had somehow been edited, and nope, it's still there, and it seems untouched. What on earth is going on? How can such a huge error pop up overnight without me doing anything?

Also one more thing, some programs that are already open, such as AVG, will not give me an error when I try to run something within them, merely nothing will happen. I can't use my control panel, either...

Also note that I am using windows xp professional

I uninstalled some software (Media Shout) then reinstalled it. When I tried to start the program I got the following error:

Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point [email protected]@@[email protected]@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library ExplorerExt.dll

Did a Google search for the ExplorerExt.dll and found nothing. Any ideas as to what caused this error, or how to fix it?

Thanks,

Answer:Entry Point Not Found

Hiya

Did you uninstall it due to any problems with the program?

When you uninstalled Media Shout, did you delete the folder in the Program Files, via Windows Explorer? If not, uninstall again, delete it (leave in Recycle bin), reboot and install again.

If still no joy, if you go to Find Files and Folders, can you find ExplorerExt.dll?

Hi all,

Brand new here, and I look forward to your help.

I have athlon xp 1900+ processor, and was running xp sp3. The computer was just getting slower and slower over time, and I decided to try running a virus scan in safe mode. When I tried rebooting and hitting F8, it still booted normally, and never gave me the safe mode options. So I used system configuration to change boot.ini to safe mode.

When I then rebooted, I got the endless reboot cycle. I then got out my Windows installation disk, selected install windows, and when it recognized a previous installation, I chose Repair.

During the (lengthy) repair process, I got messages telling me that the following two files were either corrupted or didn't install:

Windows\system32\inetcomm.dll
ProgramFiles\OutlookExpress\msoe.dll

Then it told me that Windows MediaPlayer needed to be reinstalled, and I chose to do it manually later.

Now, I am able to boot up normally, but of course it's now Windows XP sp1, with no updates yet. My computer is connected to the internet (I can tell because I'm logged in to LogMeIn, and I was able to update my Spybot definitions), but I can't open Internet Explorer. I get the error message titled "iexplore.exe - Entry Point Not Found". The message says, "The procedure entry point SetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

When I try to log into Windows Live Messenger, I get two of those messages, one referencing... Read more

First go to Start/All Programs and click the shortcut at the top to go to Windows Update, see if that works. If not, Go to Start/Run and type SFC /scannow and hit enter. The Windows File Protection window pops up. You may need to put in your XP disc. It will now try and copy and missing system files from the disc (make sure it is clean of any smudges, or scratches). If this doesn't work try it with another XP disc that is the same version (Pro, Home or MCE)

Hello,

I just had my hard drive replaced because windows would not load up and was told it was because of failure of my hard drive. That being said, I am getting an error message as soon as Windows loads up: "Smart Bridge Alerts: Motive SB.exe. I don't have the slightest idea what this means, nor how to fix it. Please Help!! After I click OK and close the dialog error box, Windows continues, but I'd like to know how to fix this problem. Thanks a bunch.

Hello Everyone, Hope I'm posting this in the correct place. If not I appologize.

Ok, I have always used a program called Viber on my pc. For those unaware it's just basically a messanger that works on phone and pc. Anyways I've never had a problem with it. It would always run with no problems at all. But last night I uninstalled it because I was having trouble getting pictures from it.

So I reinstalled it but now when i try to open Viber I get a pop up window that says.. "The Procedure entry point if_indextoname could not be located in the dynamic link library iphlpapi.dll" So now Viber will not open cause of this.

I've never gotten this message before with any programs, definantly not with Viber. I did a bunch of googling, only found 1 site that claimed Speedy PC Pro could fix dll problems. But I read many bad things about that program and dont want to risk it.

How can I fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:The Entry Point Not Found?

Hi

Seems a few folk have had this with EasyTune especially as the error mentions etiv.dll which is a dll used by EasyTune.

What version of ET do you have installed?

Uninstall the ET version you have and do you still get this error? if not then IIRC ET6 is latest so download that and install it, that is if you actually use EasyTune, if you dont use it remove it anyway as its not needed.

Every time I reboot/start-up my laptop, I get a dialog box: WZCSLDR2.exe - Entry Point Not Found "The procedure entry point apsInitialize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll."

If you need any additional information, please let me know.

What does this mean and how can I fix it. Do I need to get another OS or what. I'm in over my head and getting frustrated. Please help me out.

Answer:.exe entry point not found

I'm only having an "educated guess" here, anyway,

ddraw.dll is Micro$$oft Direct Draw and it's used by Windows to provide DirectX function for Windows 98.

Try updating to DirectX 9c if you haven't already.

How can I get my Wordpad back? I have a Dell 8200 w/ Win. XP, should there be a cd or something I can use to reinstall it, or maybe some how download a new entry point SHRGetValue?

I don't know if the problem is with Wordpad or the dynamic link library or what the heck is going on? Can you help?

Answer:Entry Point Not Found

I would uninstall/reinstall WordPad and see if the error repeats itself. If it does, the shlwapi.dll file might be corrupted. You could fix it by extracting a new copy from the Windows CD, or installing the latest Internet Explorer security update.

Answer:Entry Point Not Found

Hi Kia, Since the error appeared after installing Firefox, my best bet is the solution posted by Carlton Leach in the Norwegian Mozilla forum (in English). - In the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox there is a js3250.dll and a js3250.dll.MOZ-Backup or  something like that (search for js3250.dll on C drive will pick both up).- I renamed the js3250.dll to js3250.dllNEW and the js3250.dll.MOZ-Backup to js3250.dll.- tried to start firefox: error, then it started updating (?).Anyway, following the updates...it works and I'm writing this post using it. --Hans

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not. I do not believe this is a spyware/virus issue, so please direct me to the right place, if I am wrong.

The computer in question is my aunt's, and she always calls me with "the kids broke it again." Usually it's simple stuff that if they had read the install instructions on the program they were using, they would figure out themselves or some spyware that's screwing up Itunes.

This time it looks like this computer is totally screwed, and it's totally beyond me. Can someone please take a look and tell me if this is something I can be walked thru here, or do they need to take it to a Pro?

Googling the error, I came across some threads about it being a conflict with IE7, which they apparently updated to right before the computer started acting up.

Other symptoms are as follows:
-There are no icons on the screen. Right clicking on the Desktop gives no response at all.

-I forgot to write down the icons that are loaded on the startup toolbar, but I think they were: Itunes, Yahoo Protection, AVG, and the SBC rocketship.

I posted this also in the Windows XP forum, because I do not believe that this is a spyware/virus issue, but the only reply I recieved wasn't very useful and suggested that it was a spyware/virus related.

-Apon loading Windows Xp, this error pops up:
"SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found
The Procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL"

-The wireless mouse acts skitzo. As if it's stuck on something.

Hello BeaGuav:

Please download HijackThis . This program will help us
determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Double-click on the file you just downloaded. Click
on the "Unzip" button to install. It will by default install to the directory - C:\PROGRAM FILES\HIJACKTHIS\
Run a scan and save the log file. Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.
Make sure to include the System information at the top of the log as well.

Post your HJT log in this thread.

I see you have a wireless mouse (check the batteries). Do you also have a wireless keyboard? Some systems won't boot into Safe Mode with a wireless kb.

Every time I open Mozilla Firefox, I am greeted with this error message.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5422/errorwk.png

Additionally, I get the same error message when I start the game Mythos on my computer, except replace where it says cmdinstall.exe with Mythos.exe.

I am currently running Comodo Internet Security for antivirus and firewall protection, and believe that is what the cmdinstall.exe pertains to.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I may be able to fix this error? Thank you.

Block MS Updates temporarilly, go back to a Restore Point before this happened, and then do some research on interferance of new Updates with Firefox or that game.

welcome to the forum

was the virus scans clear?
...also run a SFC scan.
System File Checker is a utility available in Windows 10 that checks for system file corruption. It's recommended for advanced users. To run it:

Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, then select Command Prompt (Admin).
Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
