how to remove time and date on lock screen in windows 8.1

Question: how to remove time and date on lock screen in windows 8.1

Hi,

apologies if this has been covered before somewhere else.
I am trying to remove the time and date from the lock screen. having searched I have seen several customisation options but the only one that actually covered this specifically was to make a change in regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SystemProtectedUserData\S-1-5-21-x-x-x-x\AnyoneRead\LocaleInfo

this brought about issues relating to administrator accounts which seem to be a common problem with windows 8.1.
nearly all of the solutions were not available to me but I finally found I could make the change in regedit by changing ownership of the file and changing the format of the time to a space. unfortunately the date is still showing.
how can I remove the date?

further, just to clarify, does the original account I signed in with have full administrator privileges? are they disabled and need to be enabled?
ive seen the tutorial on the built in elevated administrator account, this didn't work on its own either. do some files require a change of ownership to be altered regardless of which account you are signed in with including the administrator account?

any help appreciated

thanks

Brad

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hard reset your phone using following steps :-
1. Turn off your Windows Phone. Use power button to power off the phone.
2. Press and hold Volume down key and connect the charger to phone. You will see a big exclamation mark on the screen.
3. Press these keys one after another in the same sequence. Volume Up, Volume Down, Power, Volume Down.
4. You will see the phone reset and boot normally. You will see wheel gears working on the screen. It will take few minutes.
Your phone will be reset to factory settings and you need to set up the phone again.
Or try to reset phone's setting if it is connected to Wi-Fi or data is enable through your account.

Hello Forum,

To begin with i would like to congratulate the admin team for maintaining such an awesome forum. I never felt the need to register because most of my seraches landed to this site for solution except for this one, so here i am with my problem.

I have 2 week old HP pavalion notebook pc with pre-installed Windows 8.1 64bit single language. Untill few days back, when i presses windows+L the lock screen would pop up immediately. But now whenever i do it, it takes time to lock.

I clocked it and it took approx 30-35 sec to lock. I am not sure what might be the problem or if this is  al all normal behaviour. Have to look at 'Please wait' screen for 30 sec to get lock screen image.

Kindly help,
Thanks.

So, I have searched the internet for what I am trying to find but the only thing that comes up is how to add a timer that will turn the display off after a certain time WHILE the lock-screen is on. That's not what I am asking.

What I am asking is if there is a way to auto-lock the computer after a certain amount of time. I know you can activate a screensaver after a certain amount of time, and then once touched again it will show up at the lockscreen. That's not what I want. I have the lock-screen setup to play a slideshow of pictures that I want to play when not in use. (This is a 58" touchscreen display that is used to interact with a powerpoint presentation in a public area). If I leave the desktop screensaver option on, it'll turn off the lockscreen slides. Why does that matter if the slideshow is running you may be asking? Well, I have a script on the desktop of this computer that will lock the computer with a single click. This is because when someone is done doing a presentation, I want them to be able to lock the screen immediately so that when they walk away someone can't just walk by and start messing with a wide-open computer.

So, idk if this is possible or if someone has a better solution but i'd appreciate any input.

I frequently am logging in and out of my Windows 8.1 laptop. I have a good, secure password that I use and because I'm human, sometimes I mistype it. The issue is that on these occasions, I am locked out for a good 30 seconds from attempting to
login, even for the second time.

I can understand the time delay if it were say, my 5th or 6th attempt, but for one attempt this is entirely too long. How do I go about significantly reducing this, or ideally removing it?

Thank you very much!

The whole thing started to appear around 3 days ago. The problem is that everytime I boot, windows 10 stays on a weird lock screen without any buttons for a long long time. There are just 4 icons in the bottom right corner (shut down, accesibility, ethernet...) It sometimes manages to get to desktop, and sometimes not. Not sure what caused it, could be a recent windows update, not sure tho. I ran some HDD scans and everything turned out fine, also did a registry cleanup, tried disabling lock screen, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions or solutions?

Answer:Windows 10 stuck at lock screen for a long time

Welcome to the TenForums @Taukonza

Could you please review your update history and see if any updates for Windows or Drivers were installed in last week?

You mentioned when you boot. Not sure if this is happening on restart or power on or both. If it is power on booting can I suggest a quick test. Open a command prompt (admin) and type

powercfg -h off

This will disable hibernation and in turn Fast Startup. Test. If no change you can re-enable by typing

powercfg -h on

After you boot have you reviewed your Event Viewer to see if Windows is kicking out any serious errors to the system log?

Hi All,
This use to remove the obnoxious lock screen when Windows 10 booted up.  But has stopped after a recent upgrade:

REGEDIT4

; Windows10: bypass the Lock Screen and go straight to the Login Screen
; requires a reboot

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization]
"NoLockScreen"=dword:00000001

What is the procedure now for removing this annoyance?
Many thanks,

This solution works for Windows 10 Home, Version 1607, OS build 14393.1198.
To remove Lock-screen & Sign-in page in Win 10 Home (i.e. go straight to Desktop from Startup or Sleep mode) you must first set up a password, even though you don?t require it, in order to get the ?Require sign-in? option to appear above the ?Windows Hello? in Sign-in options.
1 Go to the ?Password? option. Enter a password & confirm.
2 Restart computer. The lock screen followed by the sign-in page will appear. Use the password to open Windows then go to Settings/Accounts/Sign-in and select ?Never? under ?Require sign-in?.
3 Right click the windows icon on the left of the taskbarand click Run. Enter ?netplwiz? and click OK. Uncheck ?Users must enter username and password to use this computer?.
4 When restarting computer it will go straight to Desktop.

This works for any version BUT does not remove lockscreen at startup if user wants a password at startup, which is the focus of this tutorial.

In addition, for a local account user who wants to autologin, simply do not set a password - no need to use netplwiz.

Hi, I'm a new user posting here, but I've been using 7formus for a lot of time. The guides are just amazing. I installed Windows 10 yesterday and used a lot of registry hacks already.

I'm having a little problem with the new lock screen, and maybe you guys can figure it out.

I'm from Argentina, I use Windows in English but I choose Spanish (Argentina) in region and format in control panel.

What I can't figure out is how to get the day of the week and month with the first letter uppercase, here's a couple screens to show what happens when I choose English vs. Spanish

Spanish format, notice how the date on the lock screen looks just bad

And in English looks much better

Is there any way to make it uppercase in Spanish?

Thanks for any help

I want my lock screen's date format to be abbreviated day, day number, then year. Can this be done? I know about the Registry LocaleInfo's TimeFormat key that controls the time format, but it doesn't seem to affect my Lock screen at all. I'd also like to see AM | PM in the time. It never shows, even though my key has h:mm:ss tt, with neither seconds nor AM | PM appearing.

What about the date? I'd like the date to show as, for example, "Sat. 16 May, 2015," and a long-name month as, e.g., "Fri., 25 Sep., 2015."

Answer:How to customize lock-screen date format?

Swipe down on the right side of your screen, or go to "Search" from the Start Menu. Search for "PC Settings" and choose the purple and white gear icon. On the left side look for "Time and Language." Click that and then make sure from there "Date and Time" is selected on the left. On the right side, at the bottom, select "Change date and time formats"
The lockscreen is not very customizable, but you should be able to get the date changed from there.

How do I remove the Caps and Num Lock indictor for a Lenovo G50, that is running Windows 10?

Answer:Remove Caps lock/Num lock indicator? (Windows 10)

Hi Thisismyname01 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

On a similar G50 , this was resolved by uninstalling Energy Management .

Another steps that was advised :

1. Opening Control Panel >Program and Features>Uninstall a Program and look for Caps OSD or Lenovo OSD

2. On the display properties of the graphic card , you may also configure to "Show indicator for a few seconds" .

3. Disable hotkeys from the BIOS ( but this may change all other usable hotkeys ) . Lets's reserve it a last option.

Update us what works for you.

I have a 4 year old computer that runs perfectly, except when I turn it off at night and then back on the next day, I loose a few hours on the time date at bottom of screen. I ajust each time I use it but the same thing happens each time I turn it off. Could it be the clock battery or ? My operating system is Windows XP Home
Thanks Lc

Answer:Windows XP time/date clock looses time after shut down.

Welcome to TSG...A bad CMOS battery will cause your machine to lose time. If the system is four years old, you're eligible for that issue...also, if the system has spent any lengthy amount of time (weeks or more) unplugged from AC power, it's more likely to happen.

Next reboot (after leaving it overnight), enter BIOS (setup) and see if the time there is slipping as well.

The battery itself (if that's what's bad) is cheap to replace...less than five bucks.

Please give us some specs on the hardware-make, model, etc.-and we can help you with battery replacement instructions.

Is there any way to keep the lock screen from shutting me down if I don't do anything on the keyboard for a minute or 2 minutes, or whatever it is? I followed some instructions that I found on the internet that involve adding ".bak" or ".backup" to the lock screen file in "SystemApps" but it didn't have any effect. Then I clicked on "Settings" in the Start menu and got totally lost in all that stuff.

Hello, I like seeing AM/PM on any time value. I already know if it's AM or PM, but it looks more Proper to see the AM or the PM with whatever time it is.

What Registry modification/Program can help me achieve this?

Thanks

Answer:AM/PM For The Time At The Lock Screen

You can change the time format, how time is shown on Windows notification area freely but AM / PM is regardless of your settings never shown in Windows Clock and lock screen if 24 hour clock has been selected.

To change how time is shown on Windows desktop, select Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Region, click Additional settings:

Now change time formats manually typing any of the following values for short time. Add :ss for long time for seconds:

h:mm
12 hour clock, no leading zero, no AM / PM

h:mm tt
12 hour clock, no leading zero, with AM / PM

hh:mm
12 hour clock, with leading zero, no AM / PM

hh:mm tt
12 hour clock, with leading zero, with AM / PM

H:mm
24 hour clock, no leading zero, no AM / PM

H:mm tt
24 hour clock, no leading zero, with AM / PM

HH:mm
24 hour clock, with leading zero, no AM / PM

HH:mm tt
24 hour clock, with leading zero, with AM / PM

Here I have selected 24 hour clock with AM / PM, but it's only shown in notification area. Opening clock does not show AM / PM, nor does lock screen, whatever settings I have chosen as long as I am using 24 hour clock:

Using 12 hour clock AM / PM is always shown in Clock and lock screen if selected.

Hello, I used to use a reg file for Windows 8.1 to customize the time until the screen turns off during the Lock Screen Time Out. I want to know if that command still applies for Windows 10.

The reg file command is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Lock Screen]
"SlideshowDuration"=dword:000493e0
(where the screen turns off after 5 minutes).

I have the formula to figure out what you need to calculate to insert after "dword" for the amount of time until the screen times out (goes black). Ask me for the formula... as long as the above works.

Thanks

Never mind. I went into the Registry and checked it out.

Yes, the same exact rules apply here like in Windows 8.1

I've updated the BIOS and set the date and time in the BIOS but it flushes it to null values (00:00 & mm/dd/yyyy) every time it shuts down (no prob. if you just restart). If you hit F1, it boots fine and displays the correct date and time in Windows. Bad CMOS battery? But it's never unplugged... shouldn't it still hold onto that info. so long as it's connected to a power source - or is power completely interrupted when in Shut Down? I've run the full, 5hr. diagnostic in the BIOS and get no errors.

I understand that your system is loosing the date and time when you restart the computer. I am happy to give you a hand with this.  It does sound like a CMOS battery issue. When a computer is powered down the CMOS battery is what would maintain the date and time. When the date and time is set, and as long as the system is powered the date and time is not going to reset, but if the battery is bad and the system is powered down or if there is a power flicker, you are likely to lose the date and time.  So looking at the HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, (Laurel-G), they do not mention anything about the battery, but from the photo it appears to be the disk-like item in the lower right. You may want to contact phone support over this if you wish to replace the battery. Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

I kind of like the start screen now that I've gotten rid of the clutter, but I *really* like to see the large Date/Time I can see when I bring up the Charms menu. However, that vanishes the minute I click on anything else and it doesn't come up by default.

Is there a way I can pin this to the start screen? (I tried a search but couldn't find anything short of pressing Windows-C which isn't what I want).

Answer:Making Date/Time always show on start screen?

I like having a large date/time on the Start screen also. To get it, I just turned to one of the free date/time apps in the store. Think I'm using mclock.

For the past week or so my computer has been starting up showing the time as 23.03 and the date as 31st December 2002. I have corrected time and date - connected to "Automatically synchronize with Internet Time Server" - had confirmation that time and date successfully synchronized - next time computer switched on time and date setting reverted to 23.04 on 31st December 2002.

Normally, when computer is switched on a 'DOS' type screen appears for a second or so - then it scrolls through various Microsoft Windows XP - loading your personal settings, etc. When it opens up with an incorrect time and date I get a different 'DOS' type screen - at the bottom of which are the options:

F1 to continue - DEL to enter SETUP

F1 continues to the normal start up routine - DEL opens up another 'DOS' screen - and on this screen pressing F10 offers the choice to exit and save - Y for yes N for no

Have tried saving this screen when correct time and date displayed - reverts to incorrect time and date next time machine switched on.

I would appreciate any help and guidance that I can get.

Everytime I start MS Word (2002 on WinXP Home) I get a wizard screen for Date/Time Verification. Regardless of which option chosen, either set it or verify it, the screen pops up again the very next time I open word.

Can anyone tell me the cause, and more importantly the fix?

Answer:How can 535 be configured to show the date and time on the top of the screen once it is powered on?

It appears that this is currently not possible. As an alternative, you can download an app that would show the needed information on that area of the lock screen.

Hello, I have a windows 10 laptop and I am the only user. My administrator username is George Michaels.
Recently when I start the PC, I get 2 options for user login- George Michaels where I click to enter my password and a second option which is George (without the Michaels). When selecting the second option, 2 boxes appear, one for username and one for a password.
I want to delete the second login option since when the PC starts, it automatically takes me to the second George and a pop up says I entered the wrong password. It is annoying I only want my account to appear, not the option to sign in with different username and passwords.
When I go to control panel user settings to delete it, I can't find it since this new George is not a user it is rather just a way to log in with different username and password.

At least for me, it's just annoying to have to swipe away the lockscreen that comes up prior to the password screen whenever you boot/wake your Yoga 13.  (The screen with the Seattle space needle on it.) Google searching for this yields three solutions, two of which wouldn't work for me.  But the third did!  I'll list all three in case someone can tell me why the first two didn't work, and/or in case somebody benefits from knowing the one that did. (1) The first solution is to run a program called gpedit.  Unfortunately, my BestBuy Yoga  13 running nonPro Windows 8 does not have this program.  Perhaps you need Windows 8 PRO?  Not sure... (2) The second solution is to try to make gpedit available by using another program, called mmc, to add a snap-in called Group Policy Object Editor.  Unfortunately, mmc didn't list this as a snap-in it could add for me.  Again maybe this is something you need Windows 8 PRO for? (3) The method that did work for me was to manually add a registry entry.  To do this, run regedit, navigate down through Local Machine > Software > Policies > Microsoft > Windows.  Then right -click Windows to add a new key called Personalization.  Then right-click this new key to create a new DWord (32 bit), which you'll rename to NoLockScreen and set its value to 1.  Voila! A more detailed walkthrough is here:http://www.techfeb.com/how-to-disable-windows-8-lock-scre... Answer:How to Remove Lock Screen on Yoga 13

You actually don't need to swipe away the screen, pressing any key will do it. But I agree it would be useful to have a simple settings option to remove it. (Also, it's gpedit.msc, you have to type the whole thing out to run it from Win + R)

I hope someone will be able to help with the issue I am having with my laptop. After I start it up, and the Welcome screen is displayed, the computer locks up and the screen goes red telling me to contact the computer administrator.
I've been looking at several website that says it may be a BIOS problem? I entered in my BIOS administrator password and there are options like locking the hard drive, but changing the settings had no effect. I don't know if this is a virus problem or what caused this to start happening. Any help or advice would be wonderful. Thanks!

Answer:Can't Remove Lock Screen as Administrator

Looks like a virus. WinBlocker kinda type. Usually they ask for money, bank accounts, or to send an expensive text message.

There is a free service from Kaspersky Unlock Windows
that provides instructions based on the info about winblocker.

If that won't work you might have to go as far as creating Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

Hello,
First I want to point out that the "Play a slide show on the lock screen" is not the option that I'm looking for, since it remembers the original image that was set for the lock screen after I log back in, or restart the computer.

I am looking for an option that will always load a random picture from a certain folder to appear as my lock screen, every time the lock screen appears.
So for example, I turn on the computer and I see Image #1. I log into my account and after a few minutes I lock the computer. When I lock the computer, I want to see Image #7 as the lock screen. Now I restart the computer. Windows shuts down and starts up again. I am now at the lock screen again. I want to see Image #4. (The reason why those image numbers are like that is because they're random).

So does anyone know of an option in Windows that can do that, or a 3rd party program that can do that?

Thanks so much

Answer:Set A Random Image Every Time The Lock Screen Appears

It costs $1.99 but it sounds like exactly what you asked for:

Depending on computer/laptop model that logo/splash might be hard or not possible to remove.
What splash screen can it be then... Art for art's sake...

Seems you've already posted this on DELL's site.

I'm guessing this splash screen s from Windows 8: date time included. Is not related to the BIOS.

This one is called lock screen, pretty useless because it's just for the looks, requires an extra key press... reduces productivity.
Forget this BIOS stuff below if this is the one bothering you.

I've got a client who wants to get rid of the lock screen password requirement but keep the lock screen with the time etc.
Obviously disabling the password requirement leaves the device vulnerable.

I've found plenty of information on how to remove the lock screen or remove the password requirement.

But is there a way to keep the lock screen itself and not the password requirement?

It would be even better to remove it only for the non-admin user intended for this purpose.

The Gesellschaft zur Verfolgung von Urheberrechtsverletzungen (GVU) Ukash Ransom is a computer virus, which will display a bogus notification, that pretends to be from the German Cyber Crime police and states that your computer has been blocked due to it being involved with the distribution of pornographic material, SPAM and copyrighted content.

The GVU virus will lock you out of your computer and applications, so whenever you?ll try to log on into your Windows operating system or Safe Mode with Networking, it will display instead a lock screen asking you to pay a non-existing fine of 100 Euro in the form of a Ukash or PaySafeCard code.
Furthermore, to make its alert seem more authentic, this virus also has the ability to access your installed webcam ,so that the bogus GVU notification shows what is happening in the room.

To remove the GVU virus follow this guide: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-gvu-virus/

I like this new feature in Windows 10 when it randomizes the picture that is shown on the lock screen. What I can't stand are those clickable links that they put on it. These things:

Does anyone know how to remove them?

My main gripe with those links is that I often hit them by mistake when I try to unlock my PC so I then have to either click on an empty space or then close some annoying page that comes up in a web browser. It just kills productivity.

PS. I tried following these steps to use GPOs but it doesn't seem to do anything in my case. I also tried changing in the Settings so that not to allow spotlight, but then it removes this randomized wallpaper thing, which I like. I'm asking only about the links on it.

Answer:How to remove clickable links on the lock screen in Win10?

have you tried navigating to the notifications tab in settings and turning off " Show notifications on the lock screen " ?.. I've never had this on my lock screen so this might be why i don't.. not entirely sure tho.

I've removed it before, but I can't figure out how to do it again. So frustrating.

I'm talking trying to remove the boot up screen which shows your picture, username and "Locked" underneath it, with "Switch User" below. I have to pointlessly click into my image, which then boots me up.

I have no password and I have chosen to not use a password to log in as I have found help information on, but this doesn't help me.

I was being silly and reactivated it some how by being a funny idiot and key pounding my keyboard randomly for a while. I changed my power settings on my Dell, which must have popped it back in.

I'd love whoever can help me! Appreciate any help in advance.

Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.

Hey guys, I have been having a pretty major dilemma with my computer. So basically:
A few days ago (January 11, 2018), I downloaded the new windows update (forget the name every time ). It was initially working out quite well. Fast forward to like four o' clock, when I leave home for a few hours. I then come back to my computer, awakening it from its sleep, and then the lock screen is utterly broken. It appears as a white screen with red and green (maybe blue too???) lines running to and fro. My cursor as well appeared as a jumbled mess of black pixels. I have been dealing with this dilemma for the past few days (today is January 16 2018 at time of writing), and I have had no luck searching for help. If you have any knowledge of what is happening, or can offer help, then please offer it, that will be wonderful.
EDIT: Oh, forgot to include this, but I have tried a malwarebytes scan (probably at January 12, 2018), but it did not come up with anything important.

The Linux install on this machine is unaffected I'm running Windows 7, with Office 7, both activated successfully (also running Open Office and Libre Office which were upgraded last week) I recently changed video card, about 3 weeks back suspect this is related to some sort of Microsoft security issue can't find any references on the web ... cant generate a screen shot (which suggests this is being inflicted by Windows itself) even with bitmap capture eg. snippy the icon is a very basic black and white padlock shape that stays right in the middle of the screen, is partly transparent and is visible no matter what programs are running - full screen games or windows applications I'm at my wits end with this ... no idea what's causing it or how to remove it any advice would be most welcome

Greetings, and thanks in advance for your help..

Awhile back I formatted my Windows 10 PCs to show ddd dd-mmm-yyyy on my taskbar clock. This worked happily on my desktop and laptop for months, maybe even a year +

Now (probably starting in the past couple days, if not today), on one of those two PC's, this format will no longer display. It is Okay on the other PC.
What has changed that the taskbar clock space used to expand to fit the "short date" format, but now it will no longer expand - and instead just refuses to display the date at all. (NOTE: I've verified the issue by testing shorter formats -- short formats, like "ddd" show up correctly. Only if you request a longer format will the date not display - evidently because it is too long for the clock area. )

Additional Notes that may help:

* "Working" pc is running build 10586 PC with too small a clock space that won't expand -- Build 14393

*Other differences: Notification/Action center Icon is left of clock on the working PC - Right of clock on the non-working
Right- Clicking on task bar gives "properties" option on working PC -- But "Settings" option on the non-working

( I don't want to prejudice responses - but clearly the implication to me is that some recent OS update is most likely the culprit.)

Thank You

I was one of those laid off by Microsoft last week. My Windows Phone 8.1 Dev Preview was joined to corporate Exchange so a PIN number was enforced on the lock screen. That Exchange account is now gone, so the restriction that requires a PIN should be gone as well. However, the option to disable the PIN is still greyed-out and disabled. How do I get the ability to remove the PIN back?
Thanks in advance!!!

Answer:How to remove Lock Screen code after removing company email that enforced it?

What they should have done before removing your user account was to restore the policies for your phone so it was back to the state it was in before you joined. Quite surprising for a firm that size that they didn't do that.
You can always try going back to complain about the situation, really they should resolve it since they caused the issue. But if not I think the only solution would be a hard reset.

No it's mainly the battery that's the problem, But if that does not correct it then it's the BIOS chip that's at fault or the MOBO. Windows only kicks in to keep the time when it's running

I am looking to set up a macro or formula that basically inserts the current time when a cell is filled SO:

when a2:a100 is populated with any thing then the corresponding C cell will be populated with the time.

AND

when e2:e1000 is populated wiith anything then the corresponding D Cell will be populated.

Currently I am using this macro.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Cells.Count > 1 Then Exit Sub
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("A6:A100")) Is Nothing Then
With Target(1, 4)
.Value = Time
.EntireColumn.AutoFit
End With
End If
End Sub

which works great for the A and C cells

but it does not work for the other one.. how do i add and modify this so all my needs are met.

I have a Date/Time field that I need converted to just a Time field.

It comes back with 2/11/12 0:00:00

I need just the 2/11/12

I thought about changing it to a text field but I think there will be an issue with the month because it does not bring back a 0 in from the months with only 1 digit.

This table that I am creating is being sent to a txt file and that is where I see the issue. It looks good in Access, but not the txt file.

Any suggestions?

Enter the BIOS & change the date/time. If it resets after the system has been shutdown for a while & then restarted, the CMOS battery is probably bad.

Hi All,
I am using LUMIA 1320 that has Lumia Cyan.
Sometimes the time and date is getting reset to a specific date, i.e. 22nd May 2014
Due to this all reminder, alarms and new messages are not coming in sync.
Is this a virus? Does it have come from an app. If that is the case then it questions Microsoft App policies...
Anyone who has encountered this issue and has done something to eradicate it let me know.

Answer:Why is my phones time and date getting reset to a specific date?

First, windows phone can never get a virus. Its the safest platform after iOS . And no, a particular app can't affect the system's time and date. I think your should try to manually set the time and date in the settings. And see if it works.

Wait for the more knowledgeable to report but a new CMOS Battery would seem to be in order.
Easy to replace and only £1, or so, to buy, in almost any Supermarket.
About the size of a 10p piece on the motherboard, with a number like CM032. Don't take it out until you are ready to replace it.
Get the replacement > Take the old one out > Instal the new one and, with luck, that should be it.

My laptop running Windows XP, keeps loading with the wrong time and date.Upon booting up I will get a message indicating the problem.0251- Check time and date setting0271-System CMOS Checksum bad-Default configuration used.Help much appreciated.

Answer:Windows XP - time and date keep resetting.

If the laptop is a few years old then this would indicate a flat motherboard battery. Changing this battery on a laptop is not the simple matter that it is on a desktop PC but if you post the make and model of your laptop then someone on here may have had experience of it.

Hi all!

I've got a rather weird issue going on. Several times now, I've jumped on my pc and noticed that my AV is "out of date" so I do an update and it still says it is out of date. So then I check the date/time in the task bar and it way off! just yesterday it said it was September 3, 2407! It has done this several times and it's starting to bother me... also, a utility for a game controller I have crashes at windows start-up along with Steam (sometimes). I don't know if these are related or not, but right now I just need to get the time/date fixed... I'm thinking of maybe reinstalling windows to rid of any viruses that AVG FREE isn't picking up....

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I would like to freeze my system's Date and Time. Is there any way to do this? Thanks for your time

Answer:Windows XP Date and Time settings

Hi 88db88 !

I can see no reason for doing this unless you have no valid licence for XP and are trying to keep it unactivated, which is illegal. Please refer to the forum rules. I'll close this thread for now, send me a PM if I'm mistaken.
