Quicken alternative for Android Tablet(HP 10 Tablet G2 -2301

Question: Quicken alternative for Android Tablet(HP 10 Tablet G2 -2301

Does anyone know if there is a program available (free if possible) similar to Quicken (Deluxe) that I could use on my Android Tablet(HP 10 Tablet G2 -2301)? That would keep track of bank accounts and interest earned, and keep track of one stock IRA and interest earned and yearly RMD? And produce reports for that interest earned, etc.? Mainly for using when preparing yearly tax forms.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Question: Quicken for tablet

I use Quicken on my desktop, but wonder if there is a similar program for a tablet? Something that would allow bank accounts to be input and then inputting payments from the checking accounts for doctor's bills and deposits to the checking accounts for bank interest and then produce reports for each category whenever needed? Especially for year end tax reporting.
Free, if at all possible???

I know this question is a bit weird, but I tried to find the answer and no luck or maybe I don't know how to properly research it.

Anyway, I got a bit curious about the Android OS on the phone and the tablet, and I thought if they are the samething or two different OS.

I mean the reason I asked is that if I got a tablet and download a "Steam App" to chat. Will it look like a phone style or not?

I mean I did try it on the school's iPad, and it look like a phone app. Yeah I know, I was just testing if it'll make a big screen rather a tiny ass screen on a 9.8" iPad.

Answer:Is Android OS on the tablet is the samething as Android OS on the phone?

The OS is the same - the issue is whether or not the developer formats the app to take advantage of the larger real estate on a tablet. If not, Android will blow the app up to fill the screen.

Question: Android Tablet

Can you use files created on Win 10 in an Acer 500 tablet? I want to use an external drive

Answer:Android Tablet

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want to use your tablet as an external drive? Yes, that would work, but probably not the best method. You potentially could be shortening the life of your tablet, and they generally won't give you much space anyway.

If you want an external drive, pick one up. You can get a 500 GB very cheap now, and would give you many more times the space as a tablet.

I am considering getting an Android tablet at some point.
My primary use for such a tablet would be as an e-reader.
At first I was considering Kindle but Id never gotten around to getting one, and this was before Ipad hype.
Now when you look for e-reader/tablets its all Ipad Ipad Ipad. I effin hate Apple due bad experience with ipods.
I am not going to start flaming apple or anything, lets just say Im not getting an Ipad.
The positive about it though, at least I think, is the screen size.
Seems good for e-reading and it give the option to do other stuff with it also.
And Ive already tried to use my HTC Desire as an e-reader, not exactly a pleasant experience.
So I am looking for a tablet with the same screen size as Ipad, but powered by Android.
And I found this Android 2.1 Tablet PC
http://www.gindart.com/buy/7-google-android-21-tablet-pc-wifi-ebook-3d-game-epad-apad-p-1370.html:7 inch touch screen, wifi connection, Google Android Market, Google Android 2.1, 3D graphics acceleration / Gravity Sensor GAME, ARM 11 high processor, all these attract me. The high light of this Android tablet is 1080P Full HD video playback while Apple ipad cant do.

Should I set my sights on this tablet? or continue looking?
Hope you can help.

Kind Regards

Hello
First of all I hope I'm asking this question on the right Helproom? Anyway here goes...I would like to purchase a budget price Tablet around 70-100. I only really want it for transporting Word documents with me which I need for reference when I'm studying. I have read so much information on these gizmos that my head is bursting. Can someone explain please, can you load Word document onto them and can you edit such documents? And would a 7" screen be adequate?
Thanks
lowloader

Answer:Best Value Android Tablet

Yes, you can view Word documents onto Android powered gizmos but you need additional software which comes in two forms one of which is free. There is a bit more information on the Android website.
Whether you would find a 7" screen adequate I don't know, I would find it small, but then I'm retired!!! The only way to find out for you is to try it - ask in the store it's cheapest.
As for being in the right forum, again yes.

Question: Android Tablet Pc

Hi my grandson having limited cash resources as asked me to buy him an Android Tablet PC. Has anyone any advise for me or purchased one as I would love to hear from you. Kind regards Keith

Answer:Android Tablet Pc

Keith: well, I bought one off eBay. It?s called an ?ePad? or ?aPad? ? basically, it?s an unbranded tablet, although it seems to be widely available. It?s a 10.2? screen and cost me 160 including postage. Impressions?Well, build quality seems slightly on the flimsy side, although I?ve had no problems in the couple of weeks I?ve owned it.Google says that Android really isn?t ready for tablet devices yet, and it shows. The ?operating system? for the ePad is kind of a kludged up version of a phone operating system. That makes it sound much worse than it is: it?s really not too bad. It can be clunky and slightly erratic, but it?s fine. It ain?t no iPad, though, in terms of slickness and usability (or build quality). But then, it?s not at an iPad price either. It accesses the web pretty well via WiFi and also has an adaptor for an Ethernet cable. It?s an OK ebook reader (probably not up to the standard of the Kindle) and is generally fun to play with. Music volume isn?t great, photos look OK (but not as sharp/vibrant as on the iPad).Things to look out for. Since I got mine, there have been a couple of firmware updates. My eBay seller has been really good about making these available 9and also providing technical support). You have to be pretty comfortable with technology before embarking on a firmware update. My understanding is that Android Market ? where all the cool apps are ? isn?t necessarily supported by all Android tablets. Just received this little dear, and very pleased with it - EXCEPT I need a stand for the tablet, and it seems very difficult to acquire one. My tablet measures 10.5inches horizontal, and 8.5 inches vertical. I am also looking for a stand so that I don't have to hold the tablet all the time.

Greetings I first need to tell you the setup. I live in a 2 story house. Cable entry is downstairs. we bought a router to have 5 computers to log on the net. About a year later we acquired lap tops. So to have wireless I installed a wireless router on my desk top, which is upstairs. all was good. through the years down stairs router died. I have N300 Netgear upstairs. I bought another exact Netgear N300 both wireless and installed. all is good WP2 All you have to do was scan for providers and put in password and you was connected. Under settings you should have ability to remove programs. I am running Android 4.3 and my phone with 2.5 x 3.5 inch screen was cluttered with all the bloatware that came with it. I removed a bunch of stuff to free up storage, and the desktop area. Of the 4GB storage I was able to free up about 400MB, and then add 3 games there were like 30MB each. I am guessing tablet should be the same as the phone.

Answer:Tablet Runs Win 7 and Android

Your tablet would need to use an Intel processor, which is not very likely. Windows 7 only runs on Intel/AMD processors and for the upcoming Windows 8, you can only go to the store and buy the Intel/AMD version. If you have an Intel tablet, then you would just need to partition the storage into two partitions (one for Android, one for Windows) and then install Windows in the blank partition.

PC and laptops may have SD slots for SD cards which, like USB thumb drives, are just another method of storing and transporting data. The adapter fits into the SD slot. If PC does not have the slot, there are external USB peripherals that do.

Hi Martin,

I don't think so few of the tabs that come with the mini HDMI ports as well are video out ports.

For this to be possible we would need video and audio in ports on the TAB. However, this doesn't seem to happen in near future due to lack of demand for a feature like this.

Getting a video through USB seems to be impractical task, but we don't know what would be possible in coming years. Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

Hi
I have an Acer Iconia A501 tablet running Android Gingerbread 2.3.
I have downloaded video in WMV format from the BBC iPlayer and would like to play it on the tablet. The Inconia tab does not support WMV file formats. I have software on my PC called Format Factory that allows video file conversion. I have tried WMV to AVI, to MP4, to AVI and so on but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas on how to play downloaded WMV video files on a tablet running Android?
Thanks
Neil.

Answer:Android Tablet Video Format

The iplayer app need a WiFi connection.
I just want to play via the Acer's media centre. I have tried converting the WMV files to AVI, MP4 and so on but they won't play.
Any ideas?

My Galaxy tab did that last week, I don't know why it started in 'safe mode', I just turned it off by holding in power button for 5 secs and choosing power off. Then I switched it back on and it was ok again.

Hello, Bleeping Computer,
I once downloaded rkill onto my Android 4.2.2 tablet to then install onto a windows xp pc ,I successfully transferred rkill to my pc but I remember not being able to find the rkill on my tablet to delete it- I forgot about it- but now a year later, my tablet has lost its internal mount sdcard script or possible hardware failure but recently I got it running again and scanned it with Bit Defender free and the very first file it scans is 'rkill' so i wonder if it may be the rkill causing the bootloops and mount failures.
I cant find it anywhere on the tablet but i cant access its internal sdcard so it may be on that or in Data,
but I can do a factory reset in stock recovery so its probably not in data but on the internal sdcard.
Storage reader states it is /actj not mounted with 2.1gb.
Its a bit of a struggle getting it into recovery but the last time I factory resetted and it works for about 4days then bootloops, last time I managed to root it so if I could mount the internal sdcard in terminal I could delete the rkill or delete the rkill via terminal.
Other thing to note is as its an Actions Semiconductor Dual Core so it refuses to adb but terminal su's ok.
At present im trying to get it back into recovery to try again, as It seems to stall on android boot logo just before lockscreen, in fact lockscreen showed for a few seconds before it went back to android boot logo,(this is not an urgent request by any means as ive already replaced it but still,) ... There are some cheap android tablets I'd like to try IoT on to run just a couple of specialized apps I would write. It wouldn't need a full blown Windows desktop or mobile OS. It looks like IoT would be perfect for this. Is it possible to put it on one of these tablets? Has anyone done this? And is there any information available on how to do it? So far, I've only seen information about the Raspberry PI.

Answer:Is it possible to put Windows 10 OS on a cheap Android tablet?

Plausible! A good Myth Busters response...
I say plausible because I read Windows 10 IOT will run on Raspberry Pi. Just did a search on Bing and very cool links for this. Anyway, I think the Raspberry Pi has fewer resources than many android devices, so I'm guessing it will work. However a quick search came up empty. So plausible!
Good luck and keep us informed of your progress!!!

if sombady instaled windows 10 on android tablet?please i wil windows 10 on my tablet i this posible...

Answer:how to install windows 10 to android tablet?

This is not currently possible. Windows 10 requires an x86/x64 processor. I don't know of any Android tablets that use an x86/x64 processor, most use ARM processors which Windows 10 does not support directly.

Windows 10 for Mobile may eventually support android devices... There has been some talk of Microsoft releasing ROM's for existing android phones and tablets, but so far there has been no official announcements.

Every single review about surface/windows RT has limited app selection as a CON and saying the tablet app is no comparison with iOS and Android. They group Android and iOS together, make it looks like Android tablets have the same app selections as iPAD. While I agree that iOS is way ahead of RT at this moment (both quantity and quality), I doubt that Android really have that much advantage over RT in terms of tablet app selection. My knowledge is a bit dated, but last time I used my Nexus 7 (late 2012), the tablet optimized apps was very limited. Most of the apps I used were phone apps enlarged. I understand that theoretically, Android apps should be rescaled based on resolution and screen size, but still, using up-scaled phone apps on a tablet is not a great experience. However, since phone apps do work (even not optimized), I believe developers have less incentive to make a tablet version. If data from Metrostorescanner.com is to be believed, Windows 8 store has 124,437 windows apps as of now. I believe over 90% is compatible with Windows RT. So unless tablet apps grown significantly on android in the last 10 months (I dont know honestly), I seriously doubt that Android has more tablets optimized than RT. Also, a lot of the functions of the android apps (especially system tools) are baked into windows system, i.e. task managers/ file managers/Network drives/network utilities etc. In fact, many Android apps are trying to mimic windows system tools.
Simply put, in terms of ... Read more

Answer:Is Android Tablet APP selection is really more than Windows RT/8?

Simply put. Yes.
I run Windows 8 on my PC, own a Surface 2 - answer to your question = yes, android has more apps.
However, your angle on necessity of those apps is correct. It's all down to the user - see what you would use a tablet for then ask / do research on if there's either an app for it, if it's built in or if there's another way to go about it. I've found that a lot of apps are unnecessary because of the full-fletched browser.

Welcome to the Ten forums.

You may wish to google resetting device. You likely already have tried powering down and on, a soft reset.

If it is stuck in a loop I would search google on how to do a "Factory or Hard Reset"

Caution.... this deletes all data. Pictures, contacts, texts, notes, installed games etc. There may be other cautionary notes with respect to your specific tablet. Hopefully you were backing device up to Google.

There are also some very good Android forums sites which may be better versed in the ways of Android. Good luck.

Hello folks. Right up front I'll tell you I'm an android guy. However, my Nexus 7 tablet recently bit the bullet. I think I would like to replace it with a Windows tablet. My reasons are basically to use it in place of my windows laptop.
So my questions...
Can the tablet do most things the windows laptop can do? Can I EASILY hook up to my WiFi printer? Just like the laptop? Does the Windows tablet OS act just like computer?
My son has a Windows phone (HTC 8x) and I must say I don't much care for it.
My wife is always yelling for the kids to bring down the laptop so she can do some work while watching TV. I am just trying to find out if a windows tablet can do most of what the laptop can do.
Thanks for reading, I appreciate your responses!

Answer:Android guy looking for windows tablet info

There are two types of tablets. The RT version and the W8 version.
The W8 version is the full Windows OS. So whatever you want to do with a laptop you can do on it. Keeping in mind that not every program is made for touch but you should do ok for most things.
What tablet were you thinking about?

Santa needs to bring two Android tablets to my house at the near end of the year. I know technology goes from leaps to bounds but any suggestions from today's tech. on what is the best Android and what to look out for? Bearing in mind two children are aged 9 and 7. I haven't a clue about these tablets. Obviously they should not be overly expensive, as my lad will surely find a way of breaking it, but not too cheap either. I've been on Amazon and noticed that ram and storage have been upgraded for the same price. Wondering if Android is the way to go because Apple is out of my financial league. Thanks.

There are a couple of ways you could get the files from your PC onto your GoTab and yes you should get a micro SD card. If you have a card reader you can use that to drag the files from your PC onto it then simply plug it into the GoTab. Or you can use a USB cable to plug the GoTab into the PC and drag and drop them that way.

Hello,
One issue that keeps me from purchasing a Surface Pro 3 is the absence of a stylus note taking app that suits my needs. OneNote has many amazing features, but the deal-breaker is the absence of a continuous scrolling page with visible page breaks (similar to Microsoft Word, or like the Android app called Lecture Notes). Instead, OneNote insists on separate individual pages which is extremely inefficient for me (as many times I need to see the previous page while I am working on the beginning of a new page). I found that many people have complained about the absence of this simple feature (which is available on simpler programs such as Windows Journal).

So I'm asking is there some alternative to OneNote that can accomplish this on Windows 8/Surface Pro 3? I have searched extensively but have not found something viable. Maybe someone here has suggestion?

Hello..

Tonight when I plugged my LG G-Pad into my laptop it made the usual audible tone but is now no longer visible. Worked fine about 2 days ago, now nothing.. Interestingly enough it works fine on my desktop (Win 7) and my office computer (also Win 7), but all the sudden it doesn't appear on my laptop where I need it most. I considered doing a restore, but it appears I'll have to re-install 8.1 again, and I'm not too keen on that as it was a nightmare in itself

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance..

Uninstall the driver in Device manager for that USB device and reinstall. Some tablets have a setting choice, to allow for when connected to a computer, if it is used as a media device, or storage device.

I'm using a friend's internet connection in France. I'm staying in an outbuilding near the main house. This building is equipped with a D-Link DAP 1360 wireless access point, connected to the router in the main house by Cat 5e cabling.
I have an Android tablet and a Windows 8 laptop. The tablet has established a Wi-Fi connection to the internet via the D-Link unit with no problem. I have an Android tablet (Asus Infinity TF700) that has a share app called "MyNet". I have shared several folders on my PC (Win 7). The external PC drive (Root J: ) shows up on the tablet, as well as a shared folder. But when I open the J: drive or a folder on my tablet, only one sub-folder shows up, and then only one sub-folder of that one. Yet, windows tells me that the entire external drive is shared to everyone. I have also gone into the folders and sub-folders and shared individual sub-folders and even individual files. Windows shows that these are all shared with everyone, but still only the same few show up on my tablet.

I can share files between my tablet, my phone and a second tablet (all three share things no problem.) But no matter what I do to the sharing on the PC only the same few folders and files show up on the tablet. The ones that do show up will display OK on the tablet (Music/Video/Photos etc.)

I have McAfee Security and it controls Windows firewall, but I don't understand that if either of these were a problem, why would SOME files and folders, and the whole J: drive even show up?

Any help would be welcome.

Answer:Win 7 - Shared folders don't show up on Android tablet

Try disabling McAfee temporarily as well as the firewall to see if that's blocking it somehow. Personally I don't like McAfee but that's besides the point. Sounds like your tablet doesn't have the right permissions to view the files. You can allow users to view the directories but not contents. Try allowing 'everyone' to have full permissions and make sure it's not hidden. It could also be the software you're using, MyNet. McAfee could be blocking the port it's trying to use or the software itself considering Android is just Linux.

Android tablet overheating & fire concern. I upload a photo. This happen when I plugged in the charger to keep using it because the battery was getting low. The screen got very hot. I have done this plenty of times before without issue. It could be on its last leg. After turning it off & plunging the charger in, the white oblong disappeared that is in the photo & its not longer hot. Should I do a factory restore once charged & trash it? Should I see if it gets hot, when using it without the charger?

This is an old proscan tablet someone gave me.
Thank you for the advice .

Answer:Android tablet overheating & fire concern.

Hey man, This should probably be over in the Hardware - Drivers and Hardware - Windows 10 Forums Section.

But anyway, the excess heat is probably being produced by the concurrent charge and use. As you noted charging it while it's off is fine. You were probably feeling combined heat from the CPU and voltage regulator for the battery.
