Question: Application popup: SRVMGR.EXE - System Error : The program can't start because NETUI0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

How do i run SRVMGR.EXE on a Windows 7 box to manage Windows XP and Windows 2003 server.
This tool runs on Windows XP but not on Windows 7.

Preferred Solution: Application popup: SRVMGR.EXE - System Error : The program can't start because NETUI0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,
To run Server Manager on Windows 7 you need to download and install the Remote Server Management toolkit from MS.

Hi, first time here so please be nice.

After yesterday windows updates the system lose some desktop configuration as desktop icons, sidebar gadgets, programs attached to the windows tool bar and the general looks as when you enter on safe mode. Thinking than the culprit was an update I restore the system to a few days restore point before, the process started and when reboot a BSOD appearing with this: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try reinstalling the program.
I've been scouring the web in search of a solution but can't find anything helpful apart from other similar threads on here. I've scanned with frst.exe and got the log. I'm hoping someone can help me solve this avoiding a clean install if it possible. Thanks for any help.Bevi

Hi, i have this problem, i cannot boot into win7.
coming up with c135 %hs, i have seen other posts here about that, but it seems like it's induvidual solutions on all of them!
AVG is not installed, and i have run farbar recovery tool x64, but im not that good at reading that kind of stuff!
I used recovery console, and opened it with command prompt.
What to do?!

Answer:STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try reinstalling

i think i have fixed it, was looking over the log, and saw that the winsrv.dll was missing, so i downloaded the dll file for win 7, put i on a USB flashdrive, and then used recovery tools, command promt, and copied it over to c:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\syswow64.
not to get my hopes up but i think it works!
downloaded the dll file from here http://originaldll.com/file/winsrv%20(2).dll/9470.html and then i renamed it to winsrv.dll

Good Afternoon,

I have another student computer displaying the above stop code. The computer had been booting fine until the last restart I did now it will not boot to the desktop just to the blue screen with the above stop code. It had been infected by a virus that displayed multiple fake systems messages but I thought I had got rid of everything by using MalwareBytes and Microsoft Security Essentials. This student had been running without virus protection for who knows how long.

FRST log is attached

Hi, I'm new here and excited to see if I can receive any help.

So my friends computer was working just fine until last night. We moved the computer and then got the error log every time we start it up. From what I've been reading our problem could be exactly this guys problem

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic444580.html

We've done the regedit method to see if anything was wrong or different, but nothing was. So I can assume it's that consrv.dll file thing that's the issue. from what I've read in that post, we need a log thing, so I've already gone ahead and used the repair program and got the dds log

One of the computers in my office came up with this error when turned on this morning:

STOP: C0000135 The program can?t start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program

It took me a while to get to the error, because, as the computer's running Win 7 Pro, it was skipping the BSOD, and going straight to startup repair; when that didn't work, I then disabled the automatic restart option, and then found this error, which I've never seen before. I did do some googling, and found several references to this being either virus or corrupt registry entries, but I wanted to check in here first before I started doing anything to the computer.

Could somebody please steer me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

--Jon

I've seen a couple of references to the registry entry as described in this article, but I went in and looked, and do not see the bad entry for "consrv":

I also searched the drive for any references of consrv.* and found nothing...

My computer has been stuck in restart loop for 2 hours now and it can't seem to stop! I tried using system repair but that does not seem to be of any help at all!
I'am so worried! It also keep showing a blue screen saying STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program .

I've tried to find solutions and many are saying this is related to AVG the anti-virus but i don't even have that anti-virus
I would appreciate a tons if anyone could help me! Thank SO much!

Hi, I am running Windows 7 x64 on an ASUS g73 laptop and recently got hit with this error. The computer would startup only to hit this blue screen and restart. It would also not boot in any of the safe modes. I have read that it probably has to do with a malware infected .dll file but have no idea how I would go about fixing it.

Here is the log I got from frst, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello diintzke,

Welcome to the forum.

Please copy and paste the logs instead of attaching it unless otherwise requested.

You have a dual boot system and FRST has scanned the Windows XP. Are you technical enough to remove the HD with Windows XP and run the FRST again or we should use another method to scan the system and recover it?

Hello,

I work as a computer technician at a small private college on the Eastern shore of Maryland. I am mainly a Macintosh technician but I am trying to boost my skills with Windows more. With all that said, I had a student drop off a computer to our help desk running Windows 7 with the error of "STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program". I initially removed the hard drive and connected to one of our other Windows machines and scanned it externally using MalwareBytes and MSE. There were a number of infected items that both programs removed. I then reinstalled the hard drive and got the stop error again. After some Googling and seeing recommendations about AVG I check the Program Files via Command Prompt in the Recovery Console and AVG is not present.

I have used my box of tricks and need more help. If someone could help that would be great.

Matt

Hello,

Yesterday evening, while administering my Minecraft server, a message saying my Adobe Calson Pro font (the first one in my Fonts folder) was corrupted appeared in the notification area. That was the first message of this type that I had ever seen. A second message appeared after a few seconds, saying another file was corrupted (I think it was a system file, but I don't remember). I ignored the messages and opened a file with Notedpad++ but it failed to launch. I decided to restart my computer but Windows 7 failed to boot with a BSOD : "STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program". Before searching this issue on Google, I ran a CHKDSK which completed whitout erros. Then I foud these two topics which present a similar issue : http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic444580.html and http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic455797.html. I followed the procedure mentioned in the first topic and got the following log :

Hi,

Tried to boot my computer this morning and was greeted with "C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program" message. I've been scouring the web in search of a solution but can't find anything helpful apart from other similar threads on here. I've scanned with frst64.exe and got the log. I'm hoping someone can help me solve this as I have a lot of college work saved that would like to have a copy of. If I can't fix this I guess I could try boot Linux off of a USB to try rescue some files. Thanks for any help.

Hi all,

I tried to kill the Trojan virus with the anti-virus software by Tencent yesterday, but I fail to log in my Windows 7 (64bit) after restart even in safe mode. There is error with "STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program". I never used AVG and searched solution from internet to change "consrv" to "winsrv" in the registry, but this does not work.

That why I seek help here and I have scaned my log with "FRST64.exe" as below. Could someone help to provide the solution to fix the error. Thanks for your great help in advance.

Laptop is an asus windows 7 64 bit home premium

Laptop was lagging and had over 100 processes so I went to misconfig and then disabled some programs then restart laptop. I can't click on any program at all. Whether its s program or chrome or whatever it says the program can't stare bc lpk.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this program.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I went to system restore to earlier time but there was problem said bc of something I install or disable so checking errors. Howver it takes forever so I know it isn't working so I just power off and power it on.

Of course I can't open any program bc of that error. I then put in my asus utility cd but I can't open it same error.

What can I do? The only thing I can think of is reinstall windows with my asus installation cd...problem is I would have to erase everything on my laptop. Regretted disabling some processes bc I didn't know what I was doing.

Can someone please tell me what I can do? Asus windiws7 64 bit. Typing this from an itouch... Really frustrating.

Answer:Program can't start because lpk.dll is missing from your computer

Welcome to Seven Forums Drewphish01. lpk.dll seems to be a language pack dll. You should have one in System32 and one in SysWOW64.

First try running the System File Checker. Whichever method you can get to work

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If no luck, I'd try to boot into Safe Mode and see if you can do a System Restore from there. Either by

Start> In search box type system restore> Enter

OR

Boot to Safe Mode with command prompt> When the command prompt loads type

rstrui.exe

Enter

Pick a restore point, hopefully that will work.

Safe Mode

I am trying to install Apache web server using wamp on a windows 8 pro machine when it is installing I get the following error: "The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program for to fix this problem."
I have tried the suggestions on the web to remove Visual C++ redistribution  and reinstall it and that doesn't seem to work.

Where can I get this dll and what directory should it be in? Should I be installing a newer version of the Visual C++ redistribution pack, like the 2012 pack? Should I also install older versions of the redistribution pack one of the articles on the
web suggested to remove all the versions of Visual C++ redistribution packs and reinstall them; I only have 2010 pack installed. Almost all of the articles were related to Windows 7 not Windows 8 is there something I should be doing
for window 8 Pro

Answer:The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer.

Hi

MSVCR100.dll = Visual C++ 2010 Runtime, not the 2012.

32Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

64Bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

My son is using my old HP e9227c computer with Win 7.  He said the computer got hit with the ukash virus.  He followed some instructions that he found on Google for changing the Winlogon thru Regedit.  When Windows failed to start, we chose Launch Startup Repair, then it went to Windows Boot Manager and continued on with that cycle.  We then created and used a Win 7 Repair CD.  Startup Repair couldn't correct any errors nor could we do a system restore.  We then tried Boot Repair Disk.  After it said we should be able to boot up, we came up with the %hs error.  We tried an AVG Rescue CD but it wouldn't recognize the hard drive.  We then went with Kaspersky Rescue 10.  We tried Boot Repair Disk again but still have the %hs error.  We then did a scan with the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool:

I have tried:
Safe mode, with and without networking. Same error occurs.
Memory diagnostic, nothing found and I know my RAM is fine.
Last known good config doesn't work
Startup repair does not fix anything.
SFC /scan now needs me to be on my computer.
System restore (fails as it cannot load the registry.)
I DO have access to a CMD.
I DON'T have a system image to restore with.
I DO have a USB stick I can use for portable software.
I really need someone to walk me through the steps of repairing this. It is unlikely I have a virus, I haven't had one for a long, long time. I have installed multiple windows updates recently. I do not use AVG. My hard drive is not faulty (at least not obviously.)
I have access to another computer that is extremely slow but it can download files. I am typing this on an ipad, I really need to fix this.
I am using windows 7 64-bit. My computer is about 3-4 years old. I have performed lots of maintenance and optimisations to keep it running smoothly to this date; so it's not like it isn't well looked after. There is a chance I may have little bits of malware/adware etc, but I do a monthly scan with spyware search and destroy. Nothing high risk is ever found anyway. The computer was bought from a shop, I have no operating system cd to install from, but I do have a cd key on the side of my computer. Please advise.

Hi guys. First I wanted to be sure I read a lot of possible solutions for this problem and try them myself but Im done now...I dont know what else to do, so I hope you could help me out.

I have a Samsung laptop Core i5 with win 7, 32b and two partitions. the day before Yesterday I had the first problem with the C000035 error after some system updates but I was able to get into the desktop by force-turning off and then went through Startup Repair..everything worked fine..but yesterday some updates where installing and when tried to restart I had this error again but know I cant log in. Ive tried the following:

1. Startup repair. It says it worked but then takes me to the blue screen with the error again.
2. Search Image. I had some backup on an external drive but when I plug it in it doesnt recognize it, it doesnt appear in my drives.
3. Restore: I ve tried going back AS far as the options I have and it doesnt work.
4. FRST. Ive downloaded FRST  put it on a flashdrive and tried to runnit from command prompt/notepad/open BUT the flash drive doesnt appear there...It doesnt read it or something messed up with the USB driver so this option is not working for me..
5. Windows recovery disk, I have not tried this one since I dont have a recovery disk, this a laptop Ive had since 2012 and didint have a problem before...

So any thoughts? any other possible solution? Can I reinstall without a cd/dvd? What do you guys recommend?

When I click START > PROGRAMS, I used to have 30 to 40 folders and programs.  Now, for some reason, I only have eight.  Yet, all the programs are still useable, I just have to set up shortcuts on my desktop, or go to Program Files and find the desired .exe file.I've also noticed that when I go to Control Panel and select Administrative Tools, the Administrative Tool window pops up, but there is not there.  I think the problems are related.

Hey there,
a friend's ultrabook is showing a blank grey screen instead of the registration screen (Win7 64bit). Sometimes, it will try to reboot after some time, but I also managed to get a blue screen with an "STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program" error. Googling around, I understand that AVG Antivirus may be part of the problem, however, the last reported issues I found are from 2011 or earlier. Nevertheless, I tried renaming the AVG installation folder using a bootable stick with AVG rescue CD. It had no effect. Also, recovery points are not working for some reason.
I scanned with FRST64 and got the following output. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of what could be causing the error, if anything. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Niklas

Hey,

I'm having a bizarre problem with Vista Home 32 bit which suddenly appeared overnight. I put my notebook to sleep the day before, and when I powered it back on this morning, it was on the black & white boot up menu saying the notebook and crashed and had to restart.

I opted to boot windows normally but it kept restarting. Same problem with safe mode.

I tried to repair the installation with the installation disc but that didn't work.

Got to System Restore, tried to restore a previous point, but that failed.

I rebooted again, and miraculously it booted up to the desktop. But I've noticed a few major problems:

1. The program folder in the start menu is empty

2. The system tray has missing icons, most notably network connections

3. A few directories in C:\ are missing . Am sure I didn't delete them.

4. Many applications like MS Office or Adobe Acrobat are missing / have broken links and therefore do not work.

I have 2 user accounts on the notebook and both have similar problems.

When I boot up in Safe Mode, the program folder has a few applications listed, but the other problems remain.

System Restore doesn't work. It returns an error message saying a file's missing or something like that.

I feel something's corrupted but I don't even know how to begin searching for a solution to the problem since the symptoms are all over the place!

Would appreciate any help!

Hi, I'm helping a friend fix his computer. I'm usually the go to guy when friends need help with their computers. I can usually remove things when I'm able to log into the computer and figure out what's wrong. But my friend tried to do it all on his own and messed up I guess. So I'm taking over. Since he did it all on his own. I'm unable to determine what is going on with his computer since it won't boot into windows.I researched the error message. It looks like it's caused by a fake antivirus program. There is a fix where you change a registry value from "consrv" to "winsrv" but in this case, nothing needed changing. It was how it was supposed to be. I found it odd that the directions said to look into "controlset001" and "controlset002" but the computer only has "controlset001".I'm out of ideas. It looks like I'll just have to do a clean install. Here's a log from FRSTZ64.Scan result of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Version: 22-04-2012

Trying to fix a friend's laptop. I just need to get the computer to boot, salvage the important, irreplaceable files, then she's getting rid of it. Hello all,
This is the first time I have ever asked for help on an online forum, in most cases I have been able to fix the problem myself, however on this occasion I am completely flummoxed.

I have absolutely no idea what has caused this problem and it is a first for me. I have read of many other people on the Internet having the same problem, it is often associated AVG antivirus. I can confirm that I have never had this software installed on my computer.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my computer and it's stuck in a bootloop. It will go and then just suddenly go BSOD and then start again. The blue screen flashes right after the windows logo fades away. I don't know what's going on, as I haven't installed anything recently and it's a fairly new install of the OS. Startup Repair doesn't do anything. And I can't boot into safemode, it just restarts.

Can someone help?

Here are some similar problems:

Thank you all very very much.

A while ago I had some problems with virus/malware on my computer (redirect virus and fake anti virus program). I think I removed them but have still have been having some issues. For starters my start menu and all programs were suddenly empty, I managed to get the program files back but most of the sub files remain empty. I attempted to run unhide.exe some time ago with no luck. Also, on start up my notepad pops up with '[.ShellClassInfo] [email protected]%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787dRe' which I've also attempted to fix but have been unable to.

I'm running windows vista home premium 32bit and currently am using free versions of AVG and Kaspersky, neither of which are detecting any issues at the moment.

Any help would be great, thank you

Hello,

I am having problems booting my Windows 7 64 bit PC and am receiving a blue screen with an error message "STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing". Before I received this message I had contracted a virus and was attempting to clean the PC by using Malwarbytes, then SuperAntivirus, TDSSKiller and Rkill. It was also necessary to run Unhide as all of my programs and Icons were not viewable. Unfortunately, I was still infected and decided to use ESET's online scan. After the scan and fix, I rebooted to the blue screen and error message above. I did search around the forum and found another instance of this problem happening. If it helps, here is the link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic444580.html. I did try to fix the problem in Windows Recovery Console, but had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my only alternative at this point is to reinstall.

Thanks again,

Here's a strange problem.

I have AAA Map 'n' Go 7.0, running with WinMe.

When I exit the program, instead of getting the message that I used to get (I believe it was, "Save Changes to startup.mn7?"), I get the following message: "_______ startup.mn7?"

How do I reset the "_______" to "Save Changes to..."?

I have already uninstalled and re-installed the program, and that didn't solve the problem.

I was having issues with Photoshop 7 and attempting to reinstall it gives the error: "Setup requires a different version of windows. Check to make sure that you are running Setup on the Windows platform for which it is intended. Error 102"

I find nothing relevant in the Adobe forums, and perceive this as a Windows error.

I have reinstalled this once or twice before with no issues. We are running Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit which has been working on this as well as on previous OSs. The machine is up-to-date without viruses and I have run SFC/scannow, and a registry cleaner; issue persists. System Restore is not an option.

Answer:102 error on reinstalling software program

Hi Tipiford,

The error may not be related to 'Adobe Photoshop'. It may occur after the installation of 'InstallSHIELD SDK Edition from Microsoft Visual C++ version 4.0'. Please refer to the following 'Microsoft article' and see if that works: PRB: InstallSHIELD Error: Setup requires a different version

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings.

Ahhh back to the experts. I have a rather unusual, 'never happened before', problem. When I click on one particular shortcut either on the desktop or elsewhere it flashes real quick on the screen but does not open. The program is Webroot Window Washer which is no longer available nor is support. Love it so I want to continue using it. Tried everything, uninstall, firewall, virus protection, but it still occurs. No error messages pop up. It only happens with this program. I'm sure it has happened to others! Thanks

Recently, after cleaning up my Dell laptop (running Win 2K) of some viruses and adware/spyware that I'd been infected with, I started to get the following error message on start-up:

"File Missing: C:\Program or one of it's components is missing"

I can click on "Cancel" and the error message goes away and continues to boot to the login prompt. Everything seems to be working fine, and I haven't noticed any applications acting strange, however, I'm wondering if this error is important and what (if anything) I can do to fix it.

I cannot even write this from my own computer as the web site blocks! Event Viewer shows long lists of Application Hang errors, none for Internet Explorer. I?m using IE 7, Windows XP Professional,2002, Service pack 2.

Answer:application hang end program error

Ok first im gunna need to check how much RAM you have left avaliable do this by:
1. Go to Start and click Run
2. Type "dxdiag" and click OK
3. Click the Save ALL Information
4. On this forum you'll need to upload the file as a attachment. The file will probably be saved to your desktop and will be named "DxDiag.txt".

Hi all,

I'm having a rather strange issue that I haven't been able to trace, mostly because although the error itself makes sense to me, I have no idea what it means.

I'm using Windows XP pro, 32 bit with service pack 3 on an HP 8510W notebook. Recently I noticed that every time I closed a program, or a program exited properly, I received an error that looked something like this.

notepad.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00bb1f3e" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program

iexplore.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x03051f3e" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program

taskmgr.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x009c1f3e" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
And so on, with everything from Reaper to firefox to Task Manager. I've also noticed two other things, which are:
A. this error never occurs if I manually end the task from within task manager or tskill, only when the program legitimately exits.
B. The first hex value always changes, but the second value, the memory being referenced, always stays the same.

This windows install has had some issues in the past anyway, and I'm two steps from installing windows 7 on this thing as it is. The on... Read more

Hi I have been having problems lately with System Restore, Magnify, and WordPad (the only ones i have noticed so far) that when I start them they give me an error stating they're "not valid win32 application(s)". I was able to fix my system restore by opening command and doing a 'SFC /SCANNOW' scan. I was wondering if there is anythig else I can type in command to hopefully fix the other two programs? Or are there any other solutions to this problem?

Which HP printer are you using?

If Windows XP detected and used its own drivers, you should download the up-to-date drivers. (hpzntp07.dll is a HP driver)

I tried to speed up my Windows XP and ran into the following problems: I emptied the device manager and had to call Gateway to restore same. Next Help & Support wouldn't work - finally got that fixed. Now I cannot log onto the internet (DSL) connection is fine. I seem to have a missing program not running. I checked my Internet Connections file and that is completely empty. I am not an expert but can follow easy click click click stuff /directions. I did order a restore disk from Gateway but think that the missing element is still somewhere within the tangle of electronic stuff in my computer. I am forced to use my laptop and Dialup! Any help would be very much appreciated.

Answer:Missing Start Program/file

Just to make sure. Do you mean Device Manager or Task Manager?

Answer:%HS missing c0000135 The program can't start

Hello and Welcome to Bleeping Computer!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE:... Hello,
I recently installed Avast and performed a boot up scan. I canceled the scan and tried rebooting my computer but it always restarts at the windows logo. I cant get into safe mode either. I've researched this error and saw that I had to do an FRST scan. I've attached it below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solved Edit: Did not find a fix and performed clean install by wiping drive and recovering from backup.

Currently cannot run any .exe [Edit: I can run certain programs examples below], trying to do so will prompt the message "The program can't start because C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\combase.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I have tried sfc /scannow and it claims to "find and successfully repair" corrupted files but the problem persist. The log file created by the scan states that it cannot repair because combase.dll is missing and cannot regenerate the file because it is missing. It appears to copy it from backup but then states the source file in store is also corrupt.

My OS is Windows 10 64 bit. The last changes made to the system were automated windows updates. I've also tried system restore points but they fail to restore, system resets also fail at about 38% completion. I can't use my Windows 10 install USB to repair because the setup won't start unless I boot from it. I've also tried all of the above in safe mode. What troubleshooting steps can I try?

Hi oddparity and welcome to Tenforums.

If you can run the sfc command, then you should be able to run the DISM command. Using DISM, you can specify a Windows image to use to replace the missing file. Basically, you download the W10 ISO, then run the command pointing to it. See the tutorial here:
DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Windows 10 Forums

You could try this command first, (at an admin command prompt), and if it gives an error, grab a W10 ISO and try the sec... Read more

c0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I got this message this morning when i started my laptop.  I read that it might have to do with AVG which i do use. I read a thread about AVG recovery disk, did it but it did not recognize my HDD.  I need some other ideas.  Please ask what you need, tell me to run whatever is needed.  I have another computer to work with here.  Be advised i have not been able to get to advanced startup.  I got there once but havent managed to do it again.  I have an Asus K52n if that changes anything.

Answer:C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing

ok, one update:  I managed to get to recovery its a different function key than the standard f8.  Startup recovery found no issue.  I went to command prompt and am copying files off the hdd to a stick drive in prep for a possible restore.  I am going to look for instructions on how to manually remove the AVG issue that many associate with this type of error.

Hey guys, sisters system has been recently failing to boot. I'm assuming from some sort of trojan/virus/malware that malwarebytes deleted, and is causing the system to try to load files that don't exist.

I think if you right click the taskbar then select properties/start menu/customise/advanced and scroll down the list there is an option to tick that puts the run menu in start programs.

Program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing
This message is typically caused by problems with C++ redistributables

This is a real head-scratcher !

System is W7 64-bit Home Premium on a Samsung RV511 laptop.
Everything else runs just peachy , apart from start-up on the odd few applications .
And yes , I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling those apps ... same story !
Strange thing is that after closing the warning dialog box the affected program(s) run just fine
....   so maybe the warning itself is a sort of FP ?

I've already tried the usual remedies including the excellent tutorial here :-

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/dll-error-troubleshooting.htm

sfc /scannow  reports no problems

Tweaking.com Windows Repair shows all is good .

Has anybody got any suggestions , or had this problem themselves ?

All help and tips will be very much appreciated !

Thanks

i have recently noticed a problem when i download and install new programs. for example i downloaded and installed ashampoo burning studio and everything worked fine but when i restared the pc and tried to open it i got a message which read "the item has been changed or moved etc.. do you wish to delete this shortcut"

i thought that might just be a problem with the shortcut which suddenly displayed a generic icon but even the .exe file in the folder had the same issue.

this has happened every time i install this program and others as well which i have tested.

help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Answer:STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts. If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed. Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean. My first language is not english. So please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to read. Thanks for your understanding.   Scan with FRST (Recovery Environment)To run FRST on Vista and Windows7:For x32 (x86) bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to a flash drive. For x64 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to a flash drive.Plug the flashdrive into the in... Hey there guys working with a computer and it comes up with the C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing when booting up BSOD. After spending a few hours online searching tried various things to no avail. I have put the machine on a hardware test everything has
passed, let windows startup repair run, tried system restore on different dates. Pulled the drive from the machine and scanned it both with ESET and MBAM nothing found, Checkdisk repaired the HD. The last thing I tried was running FRST. No zeroaccess found although it pointed out the LPK.dll was missing which is the language pack wondering if that would be the cause of this BSOD I will attach the FRST log

Answer:STOP: C0000135 The program cant start because %hs missing

It looks as if your machine may have had malware on it, which was removed subsequently by an anti-malware package. However, this has damaged a file; therefore, I recommend moving this thread to the Malware section and having one of the experts look at this for you.
