T430S touchpad/trackpad ribbon cable and bluetooth...

Question: T430S touchpad/trackpad ribbon cable and bluetooth...

I have two issues and would appreciate any help. In a nutshell: Bluetooth module is in place, but doesn't appear in Device Manager. What is the part no. for the cable that connects the bluetooth module?Touchpad/trackpad stopped working after disconnecting/reconnecting its ribbon cable (while checking the bluetooth module) - I can see the little gold fingers at the motherboard end are now messed up. What is the part no. for this trackpad ribbon cable? In more detail:1) On my T430S I replaced the bluetooth daughter board because I thought it might be faulty - but I can still not see any bluetooth hardware in device manager, and no driver installation seems to get it to show. Can someone please tell me the part no. of the ribbon cable and small board 'Bluetooth Wireless Radio Switch FPC' (see https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/documents/pd023563).2) After messing around with the bluetooth module (see above), thetrackpad/touchpad and trackpoint no longer work. I can see now that the ribbon cable's small gold fingers are damaged (the cable poking straight up from the trackpad and connecting to the motherboard. This is the more serious problem - but I can't work out what the part number is for this ribbon cable. My keyboard bezel does not have a fingerprint reader.Thank-you again for any help

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This is pulled out of my w520 which is no longer under warranty. It is the ribbon cable that connects the touchpad and fingerprint scanner to the mobo. Mine is defective. I've tried to look it up with Lenovo with the numbers written on the cable, but that didn't work. They just wanted to send me the whole palmrest, which is a waste (and expensive). Where can I find a replacement? Does anyone have an old one sitting around they don't need?

Hello

I ask anyone where i can buy it, i searched in toshiba support but they keep asking me for the serial number but i dont have one (its an old computer and i can barely see 57044751 numbers but they are not valid, so i can't ask them for help. well the solution is that i should buy complete new touchpad device but i think its too expensive for me since i require one cable (and i am not sure if only cable is damaged so i don't want to buy extra stuff that won't help me)

To be honest, I cannot believe that?
The technicians don?t need any serial numbers in order to find the right and compatible part.
You said your notebook is Satellite L40-139.
Usually it should be enough to get the right part

As far as I know the Satellite L40-139 belongs to the PSL40E series.
So all Satellite L40 PSL40E should use the same cable.

I guess you need touchpad button board and cable H000006020
I found one at ebay.

However, I think the Toshiba ASP in your country should be able to provide a right part just having the model number L40-139 PSL40E

Hi, I'm recently buying a Bluetooth Daughter Card BDC 2.1 for my Thinkpad X200 Tablet, however, the BDC 2.1 didn't come together with a ribbon cable, when I'm installing it directly to my Thinkpad X200T (as in the picture below), my X200T unable to detect the bluetooth card: When I'm trying to install the BDC2.1 in the opposite way, the screw hole is blocking the BDC 2.1 to be installed into the motherboard (as picture below): When I refer to the hardware maintenance manual, I saw that there should have ribbon cable to connect between BDC 2.1 and the motherboard (as picture below), I need help here, really appreciate if anyone here can advise what is the part number of that ribbon cable? Thanks in advanced.

Answer:Part Number of Ribbon Cable for Bluetooth Daughter Card (BDC 2.1) for X200T installation

Hi swaichia, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

FRU 4T0969 is not an X200T part number. It's used in systems which already have the ribbon cable. Return it for one of the FRU's listed in the X200T Hardware Maintenance Manual, which come with the required ribbon cable.

Hope this helps!

Yes I searched this number on the internet but no results pls help me Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Answer:touchpad sl500 ribbon

Hey there anddya,

After doing some research, you'll generally have to look at replacing the palm rest assembly as a whole, as Lenovo doesn't sell the ribbon separately. If this a route you'd like to take and want to you'll find the appropriate part number by going here to view the system service parts. The palm rest assembly is number 27 in the table. You will need your mode and machine type, should be a total of 7 characters. Your MTM should start with 2746, the three numbers/letters following these four will help you determine which palmrest assembly you'll need.

Hope this assists you anddya, and if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Question: LCD Ribbon Cable

New here but didn't see any tech forum for LCD screens. So If in the wrong place, Please do move. Thank you.

LCD tech is very very new to me. But I'm doing a Personal Project that involves Small LCD screens. Like 3 inches small.

I found some LCD screens but before I buy I need to know What to plug into the ribbon cables to give the LCD screen power and Video. I have two screens I'm thinking about using. Here are the direct links to the photos. I have tried some independent research into what these cables are and I come up empty handed every time. I have a quote into some Ribbon cable manufacturers but it might be a few days getting a reply considering its a weekend. If no answer by then from the community I will post an answer myself if I find one.

They connect to laptop motherboards. If you're trying to build something else with them, you'll need to do some rewiring. They won't directly connect as is to anything else.

Is there a way to check if the Ribbon cable in the Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop is faulty

Answer:Ribbon Cable

If you have a voltmeter I suppose you could feed a signal along each strand of the cable, personally I'd just buy another one if thats what you think is faulty. I don't know what laptop ribbon cables cost but desktop ones are only about 3.If a laptop cable is the same as a desktop one then my suggestion would be nick one out of the desktop and try it. I have to say that as I don't know if they are the same cables, I presume so but don't know.

Question: HD ribbon cable ?

HD ribbon cable ?

I had my HD and CD-ROM connected to the same ribbon cable.

I disconnected the CD-ROM from the cable and connected a "slave" HD which was detected.

Then I disconnected the "slave" but didn't plug the cable back into my CD-ROM and the computer can't find HD. Plug it in to CD-ROM and it does.

I would like to leave the second connection free to add the "slave" temporarily and hook the CD-ROM to the second controller.

What do I need to do to accomplish same? And for my info, why does the CD-ROM have to be connected before the system sees the HD?

double check the hard drive jumper settings and make sure that the hard drive is set to master it sounds like the CD was set to master.

Maybe you should ask nearest Toshiba service. If the guys confirm this, you can order it.

Do you want to exchange it alone?

Disassembled a throwaway Compaq CQ60 to repaste the heat sink. The ribbon clamps which pivot down to clamp the keyboard and touchpad ribbon cables into their place are flimsy plastic the size and heft of a fingernail clipping. One popped off and has no way to pop back on that I can see, after trying for an hour. As a result the touchpad won't work.

I don't see how to replace it because it's embedded in mobo. The part doesn't look broken but just won't reattach.

Another surprise is that the HD is loose in its compartment, missing the bracket which secures it into place so it won't slide out of contacts. Owner thinks the Geek Squat replaced it that way.

Any ideas?

Answer:Touchpad ribbon won't clamp to mobo

Hey Greg

I have worked around that problem using a hot melt glue gun. It is kind of a one shot deal because although you 'can' remove the glue to start again the stuff tends to be tenacious and can really tear up the joint if you try without razor blades.

So you insert the ribbon cable, make sure it is orientated correctly and seated well, replace what is left of the clamp in its normal position, hold everything down with a large flat head screwdriver or putty knife (to apply equal pressure across the entire clamping area, then dab hot glue in the rear and sides of the clamp to the MB. hold with steady pressure for 60 seconds till the glue has completely set.

The problem, of course, is the location of the connector and the amount of stuff around it. Sometimes it can be a tight squeeze.

For hard drive you could check to see if any repair shops in your area(s) have a junk bin with misc parts (most do). If you can't find an exact compaq retaining plate you could gerry-rig one from another vendor.

Or use the hot melt there too! A little dab will do ya.
(I love my glue gun, I use it for everything. I'd use it on myself but I keep falling apart anyway)

I'm doing some custom automotive work. I'm custom mounting a 2.5" T.V. in my center console. I took the T.V. apart for fitment purposes. The screen is attached to the board by only a ribbon. I've scoured the net for any evidence that ribbon cables can adapt to USB, but have not found any yet...so I was wondering if there is an "easy"* way to accomplish such a task? Thanks for reading.

*"easy" meaning splicing/soldering only...

Answer:Adapting a Ribbon Cable to USB

Are you talking about adapting a device that uses a ribbon cable interface like an ATA hard drive to use USB -or- make a USB cable out of ribbon cable?

The first case will need a bit more than just splicing and soldering. An ATA to USB converter would need a bit of active electronics.

The second case would not work except for maybe a very short length of a couple of inches. A standard USB cable has a shielded twisted pair for the data lines that has a specific impedance characteristics and the two power lines may use heavier gauge wire than the data lines.

Hi All; I'm trying to get into the BIOS without any success. According to an HP ?Read-This-First!?, publication 746074-B21, I must connect the monitor to the VGA display port on the back panel. Unfortunately, I don't have a VGA display port on my back panel ? I have two serial ports connectors... I've found the VGA 16-pin motherboard connector and figure that I need to connect a VGA ribbon cable to it to get BIOS POST screen. The standard motherboard ribbon cable (16-pin to 15-pin VGA port) won't fit. The 16-pin motherboard side of this cable I need a either a laptop, thin client, or HP propriety cable to fit the 18mm by 5mm motherboard connector. So, can anyone tell where to get these cables, or what they are called so I can do a search, or the HP part number so I can order it from HP? Any assistance would be appreciated; Thanks, Norm

I recently bought a dual drive ribbon cable from Microcenter.  It has a blue connector on one end, a black connector on the other, and a gray connector in the middle.  (I believe that the middle one is the slave connector.)  There's a longer distance between the slave connector and the blue one, than between the slave connector and the black one.  I was looking for a red stripe near the connector that goes into the motherboard, but had difficulty finding it, but did see it.  The ribbon cable is a Link Depot Ultra DMA ATA 133 cable, 24" in length.  Does the blue end go into the motherboard's IDE connector, if I see the stripe?  (There's only one way the connector can fit on.)

Is there a tool that should be used to remove the IDE/ATA ribbon cable from the back of a hard drive.

I frequently connect and disconnect the cable from hard drives because I use a removable drive bay drawer. I have one of the drawers that the installed ribbon cable has split because of the frequent removal. Darn things are very hard to hold onto with my fingers, and the ribbon cable has suffered. I have tried needle nose pliers, etc. to hang onto the plastic part to prevent damage to the cable, but that is awkware too, and slips off some of the time, perhaps causing damage to the thin cable too.

Any suggestions?

Is there a tool specifically designed for this purpose that will prtect the cable?

Please, no comments that I should buy a extra removable tray/drawer for each of the drives and leave them in place. That is not a solution for my application.

Thanks in advance.

Building wife a new computer.
Gigabyte GA 7VAX MOBO, Hard Drive Maxtor 20gb model 3204942
5400rpm.
Board came with an 80 wire light Green ribbon cable, with a green connector on one end and black connectors on the top in the middle. The board has a green IDE 1 slot.
I am connecting the 80 wire green ribbon cable connector to the MOBO Green IDE 1 and the top black connector to the hard drive. It is pinned master and the only thing on the cable.
The CD rom is on the IDE 2 connector (which is white) as master by itself, with a regular 40 wire ribbon cable.

All the data that I have read has no reference to this cable. My compute has some 80 wire cables with blue connectors.

Am I doing it right?

Hi, I'm planning to replace the ribbon cable for the monitor on my IdeaPad Y510P, because my screen experiences constant flickering horizontal bars which get a bit better if I squeeze the bezel. I was wondering if there's some kind of part ID/number for this ribbon cable so I can buy it online? And also can I easily replace this myself? Not too hardware-savvy, I did manage to remove the bezel and reconnect the ribbon cable following youtube earlier, so if that's all it involves then should be no problem. If it involves diassembling the entire backside then I'll probably run into issues. Thanks.

Hello, hopefully someone can help.

I have recently inherited this old laptop from my parents and hope to make it useable for my daughter, however there is a problem with the screen in that the picture has a strange red hue to it. I am guessing that the ribbon cable to the screen is somehow damaged.

I have searched for a new cable on ebay etc and although there are plenty of replacement parts for Toshiba laptops in general, I cannot find any specific for this model.

I'd rather try and sort this myself, I would imagine that the cost of taking the laptop to a specialist would be more than the laptop is worth, but it would be a shame to have to bin it for the sake of a bit of ribbon cable.

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

Answer:Equium P200-1ED - Need new ribbon cable

Hello

Before you replace or search for spare parts I would recommend connecting an external monitor. So you can check if the problem is related to LCD, LCD cable or mainboard itself.

If an external monitor works properly it?s the LCD or LCD cable itself? Otherwise it?s graphic card/mainboard malfunction.

Generally speaking all Toshiba spare parts can be ordered from an authorized service provider:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Find an authorized service provider

So just contact nearest one and tell the technicians what you want. They will order it. ;)

i have a g550 and there is a small tear in the ribbon cable that connects the power button to the motherboard. i havent a clue how to fix it and because its such a small cable chances are my eyes wouldnt be able to see the wires to even attempt to repair it. is it possible to order a new 1 from lenovo? my warranty is expired but its just a cable so im not too worried. im 100% its the cable because yesterday when i wiggled the tear a bit i was able to get the laptop to power on but stupidly hit shutdown instead of standby and now i cant get it on again. is it possible to get a replacement from lenovo if so how? if not is the cable thats used a standard type of cable used in computers? if so where can i get 1 from? perhaps another brand of laptop that uses the same cable?

I have a Lenovo 3000 G530 that I took apart and re-assembled.  I had minor issues with other ribbon cable FPC connectors but I could not get the one on the Power Strip (with the LEDs, the power button, etc.) to connect to save my life.  I tried for a couple of hours to no avail.   This female end of the connnector does not seem to lift up to be able to slide the ribbon cable in and then clip down, and the cable itself seems to slide in only half way.  I don't know if I'm not aiming the cable into the slot incorrectly or if something else is wrong. The little piece of dark tape on the white ribbon cable broke early in my attempts to connect it. Please provide some advice.

Hello there,

'tis my 1st post on this forum.

I'd like to know if an IDE 80 pin (standard flat ribbon) is oriented. That is, is there a technical reason for the blue end to plug on the controller, the middle connector on the slave device and the end one on the master device (although I understand why you shouldn't leave the end one loose).

Some techie told me NO. The one at the next shop told me YES, for there were two different speeds (uploading and downloading).

The bottom line is: usually the two devices (master & slave) are sitting very near one of the other, whereas the controller is farther. And since I have yet to see a middle connector sitting exactly in the middle of the cable, I'd like to know if I can plug the blue (motherboard) end on the device. Also, does the device type (HDD or CD) make a difference?

I would of course enjoy the technical explanation as much as the answer. Thank you.

Answer:IDE 80 pin flat ribbon cable: oriented?

Everything I have read says blue end to motherboard.

As far as where you plug device's as far as I know it only matters if your using cable select mode. If you jumper the drives master and slave then it doesn't matter which connector there connected to.

At least my opinion

In cable select mode the end connector is master, the middle connector is slave.

Don't know if I'm in the right place for this, but here goes

My granddaughter broke her laptop screen, so I got one from ebay, but when I tried to install it, found that the ribbon cable was very slightly different (the one from ebay looks like it must go directly to the motherboard, rather than to the connector on the upper corner of the body near the keyboard)

Does anyone know if the ribbon cables are interchangeable on these things?

Help appreciated.

I'm adding a new DVD rewriter to a PC with one Hard drive ,a DVD ROM and a CD Rewriter (so there is one connector left on one of the ribbon cables). The Hard drive is attached to the end of the primary cable with nothing attached to the middle. Can I attach the Hard drive to the middle (and still keep it as the master) and attach the end to the new Rewriter as a slave (I want to do this as otherwise the cable is not long enough) or does the master always have to be at the end of the cable?

Answer:Ribbon Cable and slave drive

The master should always be at the end. Can you switch your drives in the bays to make the cable fit? If not you can buy longer cables.AH

does a ribbon cable with a blue connector at the motherboard mean it is an 80 wire ribbon cable?

Answer:Solved: 80 wire ribbon cable?

If you go here and scroll down a bit, you'll see the difference between a 40-wire and 80-wire ribbon cable.

Most 80-wire ribbon cables that I've seen have 3 connectors - blue, gray, and black.

My Compaq laptop no longer recognizes the touchpad. This began after I disassembled it to resolder the DC connector.

I did make sure to connect the ribbon cable, and tried re-connecting it many times to make sure it's seated all the way.

Could I have done some microscopic, invisible damage to the ribbon? Dislodged it at the other end (hidden under the touchpad itself)? Still not seated it properly despite dozens of attempts over several days?

Here's some further info and other possible solutions that I've tried:

(1) The LEDs for 'on/standby' and 'battery charging' no longer work. They are on the same circuit as the touchpad, i.e. normally they work only when the touchpad ribbon is connected. Strangely, the LED for hard-drive activity, which is also on that same circuit, does work!

(2) External PS/2 mouse works fine.

(3) Device Manager shows only the PS/2 mouse.

(4) Control Panel > Mouse > Properties shows that I have 'Synaptics PS/2 port pointing device"...this info being a weird mishmash of the nonfunctioning Synaptics touchpad, and the ~10 year old Microsoft mechanical ball type mouse which is attached.

(5) An attempt to reinstall the touchpad driver results in this error: "A serious internal error has occurred. please contact your touchpad supplier. (#-536870397 @10)"

(6) I went into BIOS Setup and reset everything to the defaults.

(7) the only way to replace is buy a new assembly that includes the fac... Read more

Hi there! Lately I had washed my keyboard too much so it started to throw little surprizes at me. Like hitting key 'T' but getting instead 't6' or that the sound buttons doesn't work at all. Of course it was replaced with new one which supported by my model. And that new one isn't much the same. Some little things keeps bothering me, like different pressure you need to apply to press a button or a little bigger Enter key and so forth. Anyway I was wondering is it physically possible to change my old keyboard ribbon cable with the one from new keyboard? thanks

Answer:T420 keyboard ribbon cable replace

The original problem sounds more like a problem in the matrix under the keys. Not the cable, but replacing the cable is not a good idea anyway. The cable and the keyboard contacts are connected with contacts that are held together by adhesive between the contacts. It doesn't work as well when it is removed and replaced

Hi!

I'm running an L350 bought last September and it's been quite troublesome. The ribbon cable for the touchpad broke somehow, generally stopped working.

I need a replacement cable but my local IT shop has been unable to get anywhere.
Has anyone got any idea where I could get one? Anyone got an L350 or compatible laptop for spares/repairs they'd consider giving away/selling? Any help much appreciated!

Answer:Need Touch pad ribbon cable for Satellite L350

In my opinion it will be problematic to find such small parts in IT shops.
I can just recommend you to contact nearest authorized Toshiba service provider.
They have exact part numbers for all Toshiba notebook parts and they can order them separately.

Check also eBay but chances to find parts for this new notebook model are not so good.

Most modern motherboards no longer feature legacy connectors such as PATA. You have a couple of choices here. Either use a SATA/PATA bi-directional adapter (probably the cheapest option, but not guaranteed to work correctly), or replace the drive with one that comes with the SATA interface (recommended)

I made a booboo with my Helix and accidentally tugged out the main ribbon cable between the LCD screen and the mother board. This is the cable that is located physically in the middle of the 3 ribbon cables, and the one that is the widest. The cable number is: 50.4WW03.021. The cable is beyond repair. Most of the pins on the LCD end of the cable were ripped out. As far as I can tell, the connection on the LCD-end board is fine. I'm having no luck finding this cable anywhere. I have a really strange issue with my new t430s - it begun about a week ago, when my touchpad did not wake up after hibernation. No cursor movement, no click reaction, but after restart everything was OK. Later, the touchpad became more and more insane - sometimes it freezes without any reason during work. Sometimes it stops responding for a couple of seconds, sometimes forever. Sometimes the cursor is moving or touchpad is clicking without any user input..... I have tried all common ways of repair - unistalling and reinstalling device and drivers and so on. When I connect a wired mouse, it works ok. My OS i Win 8.1. Can anyone help, please? ThanX

Answer:Crazy touchpad on T430s

Hi Petrvit,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I am sorry to hear that after updating the drivers the issue still persists.

I request you to uninstall the UltraNav driver from control panel programs and features option, and restart the system let Windows install the default driver and check if issue still persists after uninstalling the driver.

This is to confirm if the issue with the driver,OS or with hardware.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Yes, they use the same cable. Make sure you use an 80wire cable for hard disks and DVD drives, a 40wire is ok for CD drives.

I work for a school district that is in Phase 1 of a 1 to 1 project, we purchased 250 lenovo edge 14s from a leasing company that were coming off of lease, we have some that do not work. In repairing them we have found that the ribbon cable on FRU 60Y5597 has connections damaged and or missing. We don't need the entire assembly just the ribbon cable. Is there any place to order this part? There is no part number on the cable and the HMM only lists the Keyboard Bezel assembly(60Y5597). I could understand if the cable was hard wired to the power switch but it isn't. It seems like a waist to have to order the entire assembly when a tiny cable will fix the issue. I understand these laptops are out of warranty, so any help would be appreciated. Also just FYI we will be in the market for an addition 450 laptops next year as we enter phase 2, the decision comes down to cost, durability, support, ease of repair,, and parts availability.

I have a HP Split X2 Model 13-m110dx.  I replaced the LCD/Digitizer assembly, which required I remove all hardware from the display assembly.  My question focuses on the cable that connects the motherboard to the audio/HDMI/Dock board (item 7 on page 17 of http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03958968.pdf).  The cable of interest is the left one (with a 45 degree bend in it), and how it connects at either end.  A pic is below with the cable (yellow/gold). My question:  Is this a ZIF connector or do I need to lift up the front to release it?  A portion of the gray part of the connector broke off when I tried to lift it, assuming it was a clamp style ribbon cable connector.  The other end of the cable connects to the Motherboard with the same type connector.  I pulled that one out, but it's unclear if that is damaged if I did that wrong. Problem:  The HP Upgrade/Parts manual doesn't define how to disconnect these cables.  After reassembly, the keyboard/dock no longer connects, so what I have now is a standalone tablet w/o any USB ports or keyboard.  I ordered a new audio board in the hopes that resolves the issue. Anyone have any input on this?

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio VPCCW1S1E (red) with a Pioneer DV-RW TD09 drive.

Recently the ribbon cable on the underside of the DVD-RW drive keeps catching in the drawer and is becoming mangled. I have to carefully thread it back in with the drawer to stop it being squished.

So far the drive is functioning correctly but the ribbon needs replaced as it will not return to its former unkinked shape.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a replacement ribbon for this drive? The number printed on the cable is type:

Youngshin-c awm 5443 105c 30v vw-1

I can't find any for sale. Is there an equivalent? Should I buy a reconditioned DVD-RW instead (a new one is too expensive). I have no clue about ribbon cables!

Sony and Pioneer were unable to help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards.

I bought a new keyboard for my L502x because the old one was beginning to wear out, and I noticed that on the motherboard the connector for the backlight ribbon cable was completely missing the little hinge that locks the cable in place. It wasn't broken, just missing. I have a photo attached, it's a bit blurry but you can clearly see that the little white connector at the top has no locking hinge.

Is there no way to get this fixed outside of just buying a new motherboard? My model was a refurbished one and did not come with a backlit keyboard to begin with, but I heard people say that the connector was there...and yet it still has no option of locking the cable in place, which is very frustrating.
(The keyboard does work regardless, I'm just mildly annoyed that I can't use the backlight)

Answer:XPS L502x laptop backlight ribbon cable lacks locking hinge

Stupid question but I have to ask, was the connector there when you took off the old keyboard?  Maybe it somehow got stuck on the old keyboard ribbon cable?  If its the white connector i'm thinking of, if its gone its gone and I don't know of any replacement.  You could try electrical tape to hold it in, just so you can have your backlight working.

Hi Lenovo Community, I am in dire need of somebody's help to confirm some suspicions of my laptop. I own a t430s, bought from about a year and a half ago, its a customized model. Recently, I bought a new headset which was wireless that is supposed to be used via bluetooth. For whatever reason, I thought my laptop had bluetooth technology, but now I'm not sure what I can do, I can't return my headset, and I've been googling things up but with no answers. First I want to ask .. do I have bluetooth on my laptop? I went to device manager and this is what I got:  And from start menu I typed in bluetooth, these were the results:  Can someone please tell me how I can get bluetooth applied on my T430s so that I can use my headset wirelessly? Thank you.

Answer:Lenovo T430s Bluetooth

Hi Poykl, Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing an issue with Bluetooth adapter on your ThinkPad T430s. This could be issue with function keys check with pressing Fn+F5 key and you will get an option to enable Bluetooth and Wifi adapter check with this option. If you are not getting the option then I think your system is not shipped with Bluetooth adapter, please provide the MTM (Machine Type Model) number which will be at the back of the system written on the white sticker so that we will confirm if the Bluetooth is shipped along with the sysetm.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Hemanth Kumar

I have downloaded and installed the latest UltraNav driver for my T430S.  However, the "Edge Swipe" feature within the UltraNav driver does not work.  I also noticed on other forums/boards that the "Edge Swipe" feature does not work.  This is supposed to be one of the coolest features of Windows 8 using a touchpad.  Has anyone with a T430S been able to get the "Edge Swipe" feature to work? mrclooney

Answer:T430S - Windows 8 touchpad features do not work

I have not read any forums or support sites of anyone that could get the edge swipe feature to work in the latest Ultranav driver.  Why does Lenovo include the edge swipe option when it does not work at all. The generic Synaptics Touchpad driver includes the edge swipe feature and works very well.  It also includes a nice  2 finger tap for right clicking, However, Thinkpad's trackpoint does not work very well with the generic Synaptics Touchpad driver.  The OS dialog boxes do not scroll and the browsers do not smooth scroll. When will Lenovo address the issue?  I have tried other laptops (without touchscreen) that are optimized for Windows 8.  They have a gesture friendly touchpad with the edge swipe gesture for Windows 8.

I have 64bit Windows 10 installed on my Thinkpad T430s. Synaptics pointing device driver version is 19.0.17.27. My problem is that buttons under touchpad randomly stop working and after a while buttons start working again. Cursor also freezes randomly. Trackpoint works normally.

Answer:T430s touchpad not responding simultaneously in windows 7

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchpad stops responding for 5-6 seconds in your Lenovo ThinkPad T430s.

Uninstall the Ultranav drivers and let Windows install the generic drivers. Now, check if touchpad functions smoothly. Later, download the latest compatible Ultranav drivers and install it.

Refer this knowledgebase and see if it helps!

Best regards,
Mithun.

I've non working touchpad on Lenovo T430s. There's something wrong with the touchapd's electric plate which I've to replace. I peeled it of (I don't meat  the  sticker on the top touchpad's cover, but the part from the bottom on which the connecting tape is in.I've got another plate which works properely, but it must be glued again to the palmrest. I know that it must me connected precisely without any spaces between. Must it be used any special glue to do that? Please help me with that

Answer:Lenovo T430s touchpad plate glue

It is almost impossible to attach a plate from another machine.  If you get one from one of the Chinese suppliers on eBay, it will probably come with adhesive on it, and paper to peel off.

I got a new case for a friends computer today, and set about removing motherboard/hardware from old case to install in new machine. While unplugging the ribbon cable connected to the 3.5 inch floppy drive from the motherboard, I ran into dificulties getting it to disconnect. I must have tugged a little too hard because the plastic surrounding the pins on the motherboard broke off on one side, though the pins did not seem to be ruined. I thought, "Well that sucked, hope it turns out ok." I did notice that 1 pin was not present on the motherboard like 3 pins in, but hoped maybe that was standard. Now after installing everything into the new case, and booting up the 3.5 inch drive is not being recognized. I don't know for certain if the drive was being recognized before. It is not recognized in cmos. Probably stupid question, but is it certain that I broke the connection on the motherboard?

Answer:bluetooth mouse not working on T430s

I have also uninstalled the Thinkpad UltraNav driver as suggested in previous posts addressing this same problem. Although my bluetooth mouse is now working, I do not see it listed under bluetooth devices. Why is this?

Hi, When I pressed Fn-F5 previously, I had the option to enable/disable Wireless Lan, Bluetooth and Wireless Wan. However after running System Update recently, when the latest Access Connections (5.98) and BIOS (2.52) was installed, I have lost Bluetooth and Wireless Wan! When I press Fn-F5 now, I only have the option of Wireless Lan. I have checked the BIOS, and Wireless Lan, Bluetooth and Wireless Wan are Enabled. I have tried setting them to Disabled and then Enabled again but the problem remains. I even did a factory reset. but I still cannot find Bluetooth and Wireless Wan. The Wireless Wan adapter can be seen in Device Manager and Network Connections. Using "Diagnose this Connection", the suggestion is to "Turn on mobile broadband capability" & "Use the switch on the front or side of the computer, or use functions keys if available, to turn on mobile broadband capability on this computer." The hardware wireless switch is turned on but Fn-F5 has no option for Wireless Wan. Bluetooth is worse; the adapter cannot be found in Device Manager. Please help!

Hello all Since 2 days my touchpad (inclusive the buttons) and my trackpad aren't workinig anymore. They are enabled and in the device manager under "mice and other pointers", there is no touchpad to be found. Do you have any idea what could have caused this problem? Thank you very much!

I have a Lenovo x220tablet, alltough it took some time to adjust. But now i'm happy with it. But there's something wrong with the trackpad. I allready taught myself to use it without the pysical buttons in the bottom, and now make fully use of al that synaptics has to offer. But sometimes I have to use the buttons, because it comes handy when dragging something or whatever. At first, I did not like the buttons, but the where usable, but with time, they got worse. It is very hard to explain this for me in English, but, thats why I made a little movie which is linked below. Anyone suggestions what to do about it?Of course I've used google, and found many many topics about the trackpad, but that were mostly driver problems. http://youtu.be/a4XyxWopbt8 The click is so loud, it seems to get stuck somewhere and I have to push very hard. Almost like there's something stuck, like sand between it. But it's perfectly clean.Any advise (besides; do not use it) is welcome. And apologies for my English

Answer:X220t trackpad/touchpad

Hi, timpel_800

From the looks, sounds, and general functionality of the TrackPad, I would guess that there is a hardware issue of sorts. In the video, you say that the click function works, but only if you do it twice, correct? And the noise was far louder than a TrackPad is supposed to be, I think. With all this in mind, I would contact support and see if you can get this repaired. The number for support in the Netherlands is +31 (0)20 513 3939 and is open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.

Best of luck,
Adam
