I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, i have a click 10 that has recently started saying it is 'plugged in, not charging'.

Both batteries are available, and the dock battery is at 100%, whilst the tablet battery is discharging and will not charge in windows from the cable or the keyboard battery.

it also says 'plugged in, not charging' whether i take the cable out or leave it in.

i have tried the 'remove accpi drivers' trick, and i am running the most recent bios 1.7.

One strange thing to note is that undocked, the tablet will charge as normal, but when i remove the cable it stops charging as expected but still says 'plugged in, not charging'.

really confused with this and not sure what else to try.

also to note is that it charges perfectly fine when switched off using the supplied charger.

Hi!

I just bought and Toshiba Click 10 Hybrid computer, but after using it for some time the sound starts crackling (will post a video when it happens again). Disabling the device in the playback devices, and enabling it again fixes the problem for some time, restarting the windows also fixes it. Also, it happens in the device speakers and in the headphone jack.

The user in this review, also reports the same problem.

Does anybody knows a fix for this problem.

Hello everybody.
I am new in the forum and i also have to admit i do not have a clue about laptops. The problem:

I have a SATELLITE CLICK 10 LX0W-C-104 with Windows 10. Although i do not have files and the total capacity of any programs that i have downloaded as extra is very small, approximately 5 Giga, i can not download the windows updates. It appears that i do not have enough space. Can i replace the 32 Giga SSD with something of bigger capacity like 128 GB? Someone told me to use a micro-sd card but is this only for files, like documents or images? Or should i just leave the windows not updated??

Any response will be helpfull

Thanks

Hello all,
I have recently acquired a Satellite Click 10 LX0W Toshiba notebook.
The specifications says that it is compatible with micro SD with UHS-I (max. size: 128 GB)
According to SD Association, the Bus Mode UHS-I is compatible with UHS Speed classes 1 and 3 (http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/speed/)
However, the card I bought (Kingston 64 GB, micro SD XC I, UHS speed class 3) does not work properly in this notebook but it works perfect in other devices.
The card is recognised by the Satellite Click 10 but reading or writting is extremely slow and often give error messages. I cannot even format it using this notebook.
I think there is something wrong with the Toshiba notebook but can you give me your opinion please?

Thank you!
Regards,

Answer:MicroSD does not work with Satellite Click 10 LX0W

Same here

Toshiba click 10 with windows 10, micro SD card 64GB Kingston Class10 (UHS-1) does not work. Card is detected allright - can see it in Storage Manager, but can not format it. If I format it in some another device, Toshiba click 10 can not use it - it can not write to it - it will destroy ntfs/exFAT FS on card. Event viewer is full of SD card related errors.

Any suggestion here, please?

Driver is from 2006 (on windows 10) but can not find never anywhere.

Hello,

I seem to have an issue with the 2nd Battery on my Click 10. The notebook is about 1 month old. The 2nd battery is always at 100% and never depletes, so I only getting approx. 40% use out of battery 1 before it turns off. It does not give me a low battery warning as it normally shows around 55-60% remaining. I have looked at the handbook and believe that the 2nd battery should be used 1st but this does not seem to be the case on mine.
Has anyone had this issue before and if so how did you resolve it?

Many thanks for reading.

Hopefully there is someone out there who can help.

Hi,

I just recieved my Satelite Click Mini a few days ago and there seems to be an issue with the battery in the keyboard.

When I received the laptop I fully charged it and all was fine. I have been using the laptop frequently and noticed today that the main battery was down to 3%. I assumed that the power would revert to the 2nd battery but it did not and shut down. I then recharged and powered it up however the charging seemed to stall at about 40%.

After checking the forums I thought that a bios update (to 1.7) would solve this however it has not and other issues have flagged up. The first battery charges very slowly and seems to stall at 70% the second battery is showing at zero percent (before update it was at 100%), it also states that its plugged in and not charging.

Also, and i don't know if this is linked, but I found it extremely hard to type in this forum as the screen is flickering and I have to wait after pressing each key. I have had to post this on another laptop.

Any help would be appreciated, I am worried this laptop needs to go back to the factory.

Many thanks

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B - Battery/Charging issues

There have been a few ideas thrown around here in the forum. Easiest thing to try at this time would be to leave the tablet AND keyboard plugged into the wall to charge overnight. If the notification centre is still showing that it's not charging you might have to try a (maybe several) cold reboot (hold down the power button for 5-10 secs while tablet is on) to try to fix it. I would also ensure that Windows Update is up to date.

I'd just like to pitch in just for sharing's sake that BIOS update 1.70 increased my batttery life immensely. I was having to charge the tablet every night, now I can go every other night.

Hi, I've bought the Click Mini and have been setting it up for my personal use today. However I noticed the keyboard battery isn't charging. I have upgraded the bios to version 1.7. What I see now is that the Tablet is charged, which is good, but the keyboard is 'charging' according to windows, but it also only stays at 0%, thus not charging for real. I do also hear a high pitched noise coming from the keyboard when it is trying to charge. I have only tried to let it charge while it is in sleep mode so far. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cheers

Edit: Another thing I want to add: When I first opened the box containing the laptop, I had to completely charge it first before use. It was not possible to start the laptop without charging it first.

Answer:Satellite 1950-801 - Battery wireless keybord does not charge no longer

> The battery from the wireless keyboard charge no longer, the power button does not work anymore, what can I do?

You are not able to power up the notebook?
hm? sounds like a notebook?s hardware problem and possibly this is the reason why the external Wlan keyboard does not charge? the notebook is dead and therefore the keyboard does not functions?

Why the notebook does not power up?
Hmmm?. goo question. Maybe the AC adaptor is dead and cannot provide power to notebook and notebook battery is dead too.
This is possible but in most case it?s not the reason? in most cases the motherboard could be faulty?

However, only the notebook technician can check the hardware parts and could provide more details?

Hello

I just purchased a Satellite L775-15q and I want to know the best plan to charge my battery, so it can last as long as possible.
Should I leave the laptop always connected on the charger power cord, no matter if it has full battery or not? Should I always let the battery drop to 10% and then charge it up to 100% and then remove the cord? Or should I do that from time to time and not every day?

Thanks!

I prefer ethernet to wifi

I have an adaptor that converts ethernet into micro USB, but then I can't charge via the same socket.

Is there an alternative?

Thanks!

not really.

there's nothing wrong with wifi speeds, 54mbit/s is more than enough, if it's slow over wifi it's not a problem with the wifi.

Hi all,

I have some serious looking charging issues with my new (6 weeks old) Satellite click mini.
It seems to be a new addition to an already long list but I had a look at previous posts and could not find the same problem.

The battery ran out about a week ago and I only connected it yesterday evening to charge overnight (I was on holiday ). This morning I tried to start it and it won?t start at all. The only thing it shows every 10 to 20 seconds (without touching the device) is the charging screen. If I believe the screen both batteries are empty but the tablet battery is charging (now for 5 hours without a change in status). It still won?t start when pressing the power button.

Did anyone have a similar issue? Could it be that my battery is just very deeply discharged and patience will solve the problem? Any other recommendations?

The BIOS is upgraded to 1.7 since I had all the other described charging issues at the start and it seems to have fixed those at least.

To be honest I am getting a bit fed up with it. I really like all the benefits of the device (size, tablet detachment, USB connection etc. ) but the list of problems really gets a bit long?

I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Sas

Answer:Satellite Click Mini L9W-B: new charging issue?

I hope you resolved this. I had the same. The problem seems to be that the unit is switched on and there is not enough power via the mini usb to both run and charge the batteries at the same time.

The solution was to hold the power button down for 15 seconds to ensure a forced switch off then leave to charge and check after a few hours by a very short touch on the power button, not enough to switch it on. Hopefully you will see some charge in the screen battery.

I have one more question:

I noticed, that in the first 5 months the charging time for my Satellite click mini was about 6-8 hours for both batteries. Now it need much more time. Currently it is loading since 13,5 hours and the keypad-batterie isnt still fully load (I will post the exact ending time later...).

Is there maybe a problem or is this normal? I mean the charging time has nearly doubled...

Thanks in advance

Answer:Charging time for Satellite Click Mini L9W-B

As far as I know battery reach the best performance after some time of usage…this means that the battery must be charged and discharged several times to reach the best level… but this means also that the battery charging time would increase…

So from my point of few there is no reason to fear that something could be wrong with the battery… you know…

Answer:Battery not charging on Satellite M70

If you have another M70 near check to see if the battery from it will recharge. If it does, your battery is dead and needs to be replaced. If it stays the same way and fails to charge, then chances are your motherboard needs to be replaced. Hope you fix this.

Any tips on how I can get my battery to charge. Laptop says charging and 100% full, health check says battery charged and in good health, should be as laptop only 4 months old. Taken the battery out and pressed the power button for 30 seconds, restarted, but problem remains, as soon as unplug it immediately shuts off. You can contact nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and I hope technicians will help you.
They can check board power supply and find out what the problem is. Do it.

sounds like you charging electronic is defective. You said you have already bought another battery and it won?t still charge. I can tell you it?s a technical problem on your mainboard and it would be better to contact some technician or authorized service partner because they will have to fix it.

Battery is not charging. Battery level is 0%
If I remove Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery from the Device manager it starts to charge for cca 5 seconds right after reboot.Than it stops.

It is clearly a SW problem. The solution as described on other sites is uninstalling that ACPI, removing the battery and rebooting. than it should work.

But the problem at my Laptop is, that battery is not removable!

Is there any other solution?
It has to be something software related..

I had a problem with a Toshiba Satellite M70 - 340 laptop harddisk, but everything else was working perfectly, and it was possible to run it on battery. So i sent it to a maintanance shop where they changed the hardisk and installed a new fresh copy of Windows XP. After i received it back i found that I'm not able to turn it on except when it is plugged to the electricity, and after a bit or looking around I discovered that the battery is not charging.

In addition to that, when i first plug the laptop to the electricity while it is turned off, the battery yellow/orange LED turns on only for like 3 seconds. And while it is turned on, the LED is always off, and the battery icon on the tray states that the laptop is running on AC, and does not say that battery is charging, it keeps saying 1% remaining.

I have also tried leaving it plugged to AC while it is turned off, hoping it might recharge, but i bite the dust.

So what would cause the battery not to charge if between a day and another (and just by changing the HDD and installing a new copy of windows XP) the battery stopped working?

And I was just wondering, does a BIOS update or a hardware driver fix this? I mean does a battery need some sort of driver or software to function?

Thank you

Hello Zaher

I have Satellite M70-159 and described issue is not known to me. If you are 100% sure that this strange issue started after you get it back from the service I recommend you to talk with technicians again.

Described behavior is not definitely normal. As far as I know BIOS update or drivers have no influence on it and for me it sounds as hardware malfunction.

BTW: remove the battery, connect notebook to AC adaptor and start the notebook. When OS starts properly wait few minutes and put the battery into the notebook. Please post us what happen when you do this.

Hello,
since this morning i'm having issues with my laptop battery.

Even with the DC plugged in, the battery stay at 0% without charging and after few seconds Windows goes to sleep by itself.
I've tried to boot Windows in safe mode and the battery seems to work without DC plugged in even if at 0%.

Now i'm using the laptop without the battery and only with DC power supply.

Answer:Satellite L50-A-19P - Battery on 0% and not charging

Try to uninstall the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
This can be found in device manager -> battery

Once the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver has disappeared (uninstalled),click the “Action” menu at the top of the window and select Scan for hardware changes.

This should install the removed driver again…

But if it doesn’t fix the battery issue, keep the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery disabled.

Hello,

I've used Toshiba eco utility and battery lifecycle saving mode (power icon in tray reported it half-full and not charging).

Recently I've been forced to reinstall Windows which also removed all drivers and Toshiba software.
Now II'm having problem with battery not charging, power icon in tray reports battery at 0% and not charging even when DC main is plugged in.

I notice that laptop often turns off during boot or restart.
I guess it's because of empty battery state.
In another words I can't reactivate battery charging.

Turning off battery in BIOS and two sequential restarts don't seem to fix the problem.

Did you use the Toshiba image (Recovery medium DVD or USB memory) or maybe the HDD recovery? Or did you install the system using clean Microsoft Windows disk?

In case you used the clean Microsoft Windows disk; did you install all Toshiba drivers and tools from Toshiba EU driver page?

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Having a charging problem. Laptop suddenly shut down whilst using. Tried to start up but power light goes out and it shuts down again. With battery connected and ac adapter switched on the blue power light and yellow battery light stay on a few seconds and then shuts down, not allowing start up.

Took the old battery out thinking it was that and my laptop starts up fine using just the ac adapter as this is how I am currently posting this. Refit the battery and the power light comes on and off again every few seconds and prevents start up.

Have purchased a new battery thinking it was faulty but to no avail, exactly the same problem.
Left the laptop off to charge the new battery but noticed the blue power light and yellow battery light going on and off together every few seconds.

If I try to start the laptop up while the power light is on it starts to start but as soon as the power light goes out it stops. My thoughts are the charging unit inside my laptop is shorting out but I am no expert.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and would it be expensive to fix as I have just spent ?48 on a e new battery.

Thanks Mick

Answer:Satellite A100-225 is not charging even with new battery

>Refit the battery and the power light comes on and off again every few seconds and prevents start up.

Are you sure that the battery is compatible ? did you purchase the genuine battery from Toshiba ASP?
I think batteries from 3rd party retailer could not be compatible always? so I would test the notebook with a battery recommended by Toshiba.

At the other hand it could be a motherboard problem but if the notebook start up properly using the AC adaptor, I would not be quite sure if it?s really a mobo issue.

Try also this:
Remove battery and AC adaptor, press power button 30sec long.
Then insert the battery and connect AC adaptor and check if you could power up the unit.

I have a Satellite L500-13W. This was purchased in Portugal so is not listed on UK site.

I have a problem with the battery. It will not charge although it will run when plugged into the mains. I read on another blog that a BIOS update cured the problem on another model. I have found an update on the Portuguese site but I do not understand the language, specially where my laptop is concerned.

I was wondering if anybody knew of this problem and cure and also could suggest how I would go about updating the correct BIOS

Answer:Satellite L500 - Battery not charging

Hi

First of all you can download all drivers on the Toshiba European driver download page where everything is written in English:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

There you can also search for your model, as far as I know Satellite L500-13W belongs to the PSLJ3E.

More info about BIOS update: This update is a little bit tricky because it could destroy your ROM module so before you make the update, close all running programs also your antivirus and firewall, disconnect from Internet and make sure that you are logged in as administrator. Do not shut down the notebook during this procedure.

If the BIOS update doesn?t work it seems to be a hardware malfunction. Maybe your battery must be replaced?

I've just bought a new Satellite C660-108 as a Christmas present. The laptop worked fine for a while but then I noticed that the Windows 7 power icon stated that the battery wasn't charging (even though it was correctly inserted, both sliders were in the correct position, the power cable was plugged in and switched on). Sure enough when the battery ran down the computer died.

Current situation is that the computer will run fine with the power cable if the (now dead) battery is removed but it won't switch on with the battery inserted (whether the power cable is plugged in or not).

Is this a fault with the battery or the laptop?

Answer:Battery is not charging on Satellite C660-108

Before we start discussion please try this.
Remove the battery, start your notebook on AC power supply only and when the operating system is fully loaded put the battery in place.

Please let us know if the battery is recognized properly and if the battery charging will start as usual.

Hi there,

I've been having an issue over the last week - my laptop (Satellite L500) runs fine on AC power, but the icon shows "plugged in, not charging" and the battery charge is at 0%. Thus if I pull the cable out it turns off immediately. The battery charging LED at the front is not lighting up either.

Laptop is just over two years old but running well, all original Toshiba hardware (i.e. battery and charger). I had found recently that battery life was not what it was when lappy was new, but it'd last at least 45 minutes or so, so I knew the battery was on the way out but find it hard to believe it's just failed when two weeks ago could charge and run OK?

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Rebecca

Answer:Satellite L500 - battery is not charging

> so I knew the battery was on the way out but find it hard to believe it's just failed when two weeks ago could charge and run OK?

I think nothing is impossible?this means that battery could be faulty.
Of course this is my personal opinion but I see only two options: either its battery problem or motherboard problem.

Therefore if I would be you, I would check if the problem would persist using an new, tested battery.

By the way: you can also check this short workaround:
- disconenct the ac adptor and battery
- press power button (30-40sec long)
- connect battery and AC adaptor and power up the unit
- now check if battery could be charged.

However laptop was hooked up to mains cable and green light indicated power to the laptop. Battery light is flashing amber intermittently, but laptop is not in sleep mode. Battery is not charging at all.

Any ideas?

This taken from *Toshiba technical Support*
:
1 Unplug the computer from the AC adapter and turn it on. Let the computer run under battery power until the computer turns off, indicating that the battery is fully discharged.
2 Remove the battery pack.
3 Using a soft cloth, wipe off the battery packs connectors and the AC adapters connectors. Re-insert the battery pack.
4 Plug the computer into the AC adapter and check the wall outlet, making sure the connection is firm.
5 With the PC turned off, let the battery charge until the battery status light or icon glows green. Unplug the AC adapter. Remove the battery. Wait 30 seconds and re-insert the battery.
Plug the AC adapter back in.

Laptop is 18 months old, with Windows 7. Has had normal home usage. In the last few days, when battery has run low and I've plugged in the AC charger, the green LED battery charging light comes on as green (battery fully charged). And the message I get when I hover over the battery icon is, say, battery 14% available, plugged in, not charging.

I googled the problem and found uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and removing the battery, does work but only for that battery charge. It reverts back to the green LED light, as soon as I plug in the AC charger, even if battery is only on 10%.

Hope someone can help me with this. I'm not a techie so please bear that in mind when replying.

Thank you.

Answer:Satellite C650 - Battery is not charging

Hi

Maybe it?s time to change the battery.
After 400-500 charging cycles the battery starts loosing own performance and early or later the replacement is inescapable.

I think you should try a new battery? but it would be recommended to test new battery before purchasing? so maybe you can visit an dealer downtown and test a new battery

Hi There,

I have Satellite L30-11D and the battery will no longer charge. Laptop works when the AC Adapter is plugged in. When the AC Adapter is plugged in the battery icon appears to be charging and the led will turn orange and then green as if the laptop has completed charging.
However once the AC Adapter is removed it says only 8% remaining and will shut down within 5mins.

I have just purchased a new AC Adapter and I have updated my BIOS. Very confused of how to fix this problem, any advice will be very helpful.

Thank you

Answer:Satellite L30-11D - After charging battery it says only 8% remaining

Hi TL30,

In my opinion this problem is only related to the battery and it needs replacing. A batter y can only be recharged about 500 times and after this you have to replace it because it can?t be charged 100% anymore.
It has nothing to do with AC adaptor or BIOS?

You should contact an authorized service provider in your country or you search for some online shops where you can purchase a compatible battery. On your current battery you will find a part number where you can ask Google for it.

Hi, I've just a bought PA3099U-1BRS 2nd internal battery bay for Satellite 3000-100, but it remains on 0% and won't charge. I have read the support areas of the site and it says I need at least BIOS v1.90, and I have 2.40 (otherwise this could have been the cause of the problem), is there anything else I can try? Thanks, Tommy

Hi

If I am remember well enough the Satellite 3000 has a small reset button that must be pressed with a pen. Check it please and if yes put the new battery inside, start the unit and press the reset button immediately and hold down about 15 or 20 seconds.

6 months ago my adapter stopped working. I replaced it with a universal one that worked well for some time. Then I got a problem.
When I connect the adapter to the laptop the blue light indicating power supply burns ok. The battery light turns orange for 10 sec, then it goes off, and again 10 sec on. After these last 10 seconds is goes off and stays off.

It does this when the computer is on and when it is off. In the windows task bar is says ""battery not charging "". I bought a new battery. I could load the new battery and after some time the problem occurred again. Then the laptop worked fine for two weeks and no it is giving the same problem again.

Does someone have any idea what this could be? Adapter? (I tried several ones with the right voltage and amperage, battery (both original and new battery give the same problem) or motherboard?

Hi,

I have a M60 that is now over a year old. Recently my ac power adapter stopped charging my battery so i replaced it with an equivalent adaptor.

Whilst this initially worked successfull, after only a few days this as well stopped charging my battery. The battery works fine as my laptop will turn on but requests i shut it down in order to prevent loss of work etc.

The power adaptor also works fine as it works in a friends laptop without problem.

Does any one have any idea what the problem is or how to fix it??

Thanks,

Chris

Answer:Satellite M60-105 stopped charging battery

Hello Chris

To be honest I do not see possibility to fix this alone. Be honest: what you can do in this case? Battery charging is matter of power electronic and if the battery is not charging properly I am afraid it must be checked by service.

I am really interested if someone will post something about ?self fixing?.

Anyway good luck.

Answer:Satellite Pro A10: battery charging question

Hi Isabella,

The normal recommendation is to remove the battery when the notebook is connected to the AC supply. However, modern notebooks (and batteries) use fairly sophisticated electronics to maximise the recharging performance and so generally it now does little if any harm if the battery is left in place while the AC is connected.

My own SA30 is almost always run on AC supply with the battery installed and after 2 years like this the battery will still drive the notebook for up to 2 hours which I do periodically just to discharge/recharge it.

As long as the battery is periodically discharged then it should suffer no harm.

My C50 has a battery issue. A few weeks old, it stopped charging. First it started charging (as seen on the windows power icon) slowly until 61% then zipped to 100%. But since then, the computer won't work on battery. The charging light does not come on(, but did so before). For all intends and purposes, it looks as there is no battery present, except that the software (windows and toshiba help stuff) insists there is a fully charged battery present.

Now, it probably is a faulty battery or connector, but to avoid going to the shop needlessly, I would like to verify if there is a bios update available. Since it is a relatively new, maybe not but the toshiba site is not the most clear. Anyway I couldn't find any bios update on the pages for Satellite C50-A-1G7.
Currently my bios is 1.20 with EC version 1.00

tnx

Answer:Satellite C50-A-1G7 - battery has stopped charging

To be honest I don't think BIOS update can be solution for this. Anyway, you can check which BIOS version is offered on BIOS download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_bios.jsp

I?m afraid you must contact nearest Toshiba service. They have special tools and can check hardware functionality.

Hi

I think your notebook is a little bit older? right?
Well, I think the battery is faulty? this is nothing unusual and can happens after a long time of usage.
My old battery cannot charge as well? but in my case it does not matter because I use always the AC adaptor.

So in your case I recommend replacing the battery with a new one.
Please check the label at the back of the battery? there is a part number which helps you to identify the right battery for this notebook.

hello, a friend of mine just gave me the a300-1mo laptop and it has a problem. it is not charging the battery.

I changed the battery and the charger with another laptop which are working fine, but they did not work at mine but the only way to charge the battery is to have the laptop turned off, put the ac charger, take off the battery and connecting again the battery. Then it is charging. In case I remove the ac charger and reattach to the laptop it again stops charging.

is there any solutions to it?

Answer:Satellite A300-1MO - Not charging the battery

Hey,

If you can only charge the battery while AC/DC adaptor is connected, I think the issue is hardware related. I mean if the battery will be charged while notebook is turned off, the battery seems to be ok and even the AC/DC adaptor. Theoretically it could only be related to the mainboard?

I think you should contact nearest authorized service provider. The guys can check your notebook and help you to exchange the mainboard.

Any suggestions.

Answer:Battery is not charging on my Satellite 3000-x4

hi keith267,
i have a sat3000 too! which cpu you have in it?

2 reasons for this issue are possible:
a cheap one and an expensive one... lets see what we can do!

- make sure that your ac-adaptor is good
therefor run machine without battery!
led flashing or is it constantly on? when flashing you got a problem....
on? good!
wont start or shuts down: ac-adaptor is gone... cheap one done (app.40???)

- run your machine with batt only
ok? good!
wont run or shuts down immediatly: battery training is recommended
therefor start a dos system without ac power and let it run "dry"
after that try reloading with ac power, do this 5 times to train your battery
ok afterwards? good!
no? thats the bitter pill to take

- insert battery and connect ac power
when your machine boots up und runs, half the job is done
led still blinking? yes? you need a new powermodule for your machine...
thats the bad thing: it's on the mainboard and cant be changed wothout changing the mainboard...

if you have no luck with this procedures you may have mine instead ;-)

Hey, I have a HUGE list of problems (some that can't be fixed) on my laptop that's 5 months old but let's start with the most urgent problem.

The battery isn't charging all the time. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, it's quite random... Sometimes it even says it's charging but it isn't. It just stays at 30% for example.

I have windows 7 and newest bios. Tried rebooting, placing battery after boot with cable and no battery etc. Nothing seems to fix the problem. Tried reinstalling drivers. Nothing.

Answer:Battery isn't charging on my Satellite A350-220

Too many issues, GET RID OF THIS LAPTOP NOW.
Don't waste your time trying to fix it. Send it back to Toshiba and have them replace it.
This is not acceptable from a brand name like Toshiba point of view.

I've had this laptop about four months and have just had it returned from a warranty repair, (motherboard replacement). It's only had light usage since I bought it.

On returning, I ran a Windows 7 Upgrade as a clean install but noticed that the battery wouldn't charge above 60 percent. I have been running the laptop today to try and discharge the battery completely so I could give it a full charge overnight.

All I get now when plugging the AC adaptor in is two pulses on the battery icon in the notification area and the message *"available (plugged in, charging)"* - the icon remains on 'empty' despite being left for several hours.

Does it sound like the battery is damaged or does it need recalibrating and if so, how?

Thanks

Hi AtlantiB,

And what happens if turn off your notebook and connec the AC/DC adaptor? Can you see that the battery is charging?

Sometimes if the battery is absolutely empty, it might take several hours until it?s full charged and it takes some minutes until it will be charged from notebook.

So turn off your notebook and connect AC/DC adaptor. Then wait one hour and check what happens.

Hey,
I have a toshiba satellite A60 notebook. My notebook is 2 years old. After I used my laptop in battery mode, it fell out because the battery was empty. When I plugged it in on the net, the battery led flashed amber for less than a second and went out again. The battery won't charge anymore and the batteryled is out.

Windows detects the battery though. The laptop still keeps running on the battery for some minutes. I already had this problem a year ago and after a few months the battery started charging again.

Does anyone have a simular problem and how do you solve it?

Thanks (sorry for the bad english)

Answer:Satellite A60: battery charging problem

Hi

Possibly the battery cannot charge properly because it has a malfunction.
Generally the battery performance decreases in process of time.
I read that you can charge and discharge the battery about 500 times and then the performance goes down.
You can try to remove the battery for a several time. After this time try to charge it.
I would also recommend checking if this issue happens also with a new battery.

But it?s also possible that there is something wrong with the power supply electronic.
This could have a bad influence on the charging procedure.
I have also read that the BIOS update have solved some battery charging problems.
But if the battery charging has worked since 2 years so I assume the BIOS is ok.

However, check it with a new battery.

Hi

Leave the AC adaptor connected to the notebook for a longer period of time.
In many cases the battery may not start to charge immediately because its deeply discharged.
In such case the AC adaptor should be connected to the notebook for a longer time to precharge the battery? Then the battery should start to charge as usual.

Hi,
I have a Satellite A100-543 (PSAARE).

The original battery was not charging so I purchased a new one. Now the new one is not charging either. I then ordered a new charger before coming to this forum so I?ll test that when it arrives but I think the problem will not be solved.

With the new Battery the Icon says "10% Usable, connected, charging". The Icon, when the laptop is first switched on, shows the charge bar moving (charging) but after a few moments stops.

With the old Battery the Icon says " connected, charging". It shows empty.
In both cases the Battery Green LED is on.

If I pull out the charger from the laptop the computer stops immediately.

Trawling the forums I see one proposed solution is a BIOS upgrade. I have BIOS version 5.80

Again I am dubious than this will solve the problem.

Others point to the motherboard. How can I know this? If it is does anybody have an idea of cost?

I do hope that someone can help.

Answer:Satellite A100- New or Old Battery is not charging

there is several things you can do before replacing the motherboard..

1: Update your bios.. if you havnt alleredy done it alleredy

2: take all power out of your machine for 30 minutes (including your battery.. put in the battery and power it on again .

3: This is a weird one but its worked for me a few times.. take out the battery, boot the machine up and wait till its done with all the startup routines.. after that you go to power management and put it on full performance or what ever its called in french.. then while the machine is powered on and is in windows , put in the battery and check if it starts to charge. you can see that in the lower left corner on your screen if the battery and the power jack switches from a little red cross to a battery that is green and signaling charging.. if it does this let it stay in the adapter like that for 24 hours at least and see if that works out..

Problem with my charging/power on my notebook.

Intermittantly, when using the AC power adapter to charge the battery, the battery will charge for a time (with LED glowing amber) then (after no specific time) the amber light will go out, and stop charging. Looking at the battery icon in the desktop tray when this happens shows the notebook to be running on the battery, even though the AC power supply is still attached.

Moving the AC power supply jack in the socket of the back of the notebook makes no difference. It's almost as if the notebook is not recognising that AC adapter is there.

To add confusion, if I use the notebook on AC power alone (i.e remove the battery totally), the power will randomly cut out. This is also intermitant, and happens even if the notebook is not in use.

I have checked the power meter settings, and i have the most up-to-date drivers for the toshiba power saving utilities. i have also replaced the AC power supply and the battery.

Any Ideas?

Answer:Satellite P30-130: Battery stops charging

Everything you done is right but next step is to check power supply electronic on the mainboard. Problem is that you can not do it alone and it must be done by technicians.

If the battery is 3 years+ then it may simply need replacing.

Hello everybody!

I apologize for my English; it is not the primary language.
Somehow I could catch my Satellite A200 and assembly are not properly paved the cable (do not know what the cable, apparently the power to the screen), he was laid between the keyboard and top panel, but I forgot about it and put it between the motherboard and the top panel and ... when all assembled and included that most cable burnt ... precisely burnt winding ... cord, I immediately pulled out but the battery remained in it ... in general not very well turned out;)))

As a result of what it led to: first is sometimes not visible when you switch the keyboard and touchpad ... to eliminate the need to restart the car ... secondly, in principle, sometimes a laptop is not included, i.e. tanning lamp power and all ... in this case to pull out the power cable ... and last, the most unpleasant, the battery no longer charged ... i.e. after all this, I discharge the battery and now the laptop works only on the power cable.

Question: is the problem in the battery or the motherboard?

Answer:Satellite A200 is not charging the battery

Your English is hard to understand but it seems that you have disassembled the notebook and connected some cables in wrong manner.
Then something burned through and now you?ve got some problems with the battery, etc?

I think there is a hardware problem? who knows what you did in the past?
Fact is that you have made something wrong... this is always an risk if someone without an technician experience disassembles the notebook.

In your case I recommend contacting someone who knows how to check the notebooks hardware? you need an professional help?

Answer:Satellite L40-18x - limited battery charging

Lithium batteries are consumable and have a life of 2 - 3 years. After that they need to be replaced with a new battery.

Is your new battery actually new? Maybe it is worn down as well.

I doubt a BIOS Update will help if the battery was charging to 100% previously.

Battery charging intermittently, screen flickers, mousepointer jumpy, kb misses key hits.

Very often, when power cord connected, my Satellite Pro P100 goes into a state where all those symptoms make the computer close to unusable. The battery icon in the tray also changes between connected and not. And, when it says connected, most often it's "connected but not charging". The charging LED at the front also changes between off and orange.

Even when sleeping, the LED changes off/orange and the battery will not charge.

I think this is heat related, as I can usually make it charge by shutting down and waiting a while.

Yes, I check for latest drivers and BIOS regularly.

Can anyone suggest something to help me? Is this a warranty issue?

I have Toshiba Satellite A200 and recently I have had some software problems with charging it :(

Haven't observed this charging behaviour, but I can tell too, that the percentage is longer on 99 then on others. Why, I don't know.

Answer:Satellite C650 problem charging battery.

Difficult to say. First of all I would recommend checking the BIOS version.
Be sure that your BIOS is up to date.

But did you notice this issue from first day of usage?
Theoretically the battery should be detected even if the battery is discharged?so I?m wondering why the battery indicator is not ON. If the battery would be charged, the indicator should lit orange. If the battery is fully charged, the indicator should switch to blue?.

Anyway, I think you cannot run some test because you don?t have important and necessary tools? I think new battery should be tested with the notebook and if this would not solve the problem, the motherboard should be tested too.

My Toshiba is rather annoying. I'm hoping there is a fix to this and that it isn't built into the computer by braindead hardware designers.

My battery is toast. Has been for a while. I find the computer works fine if the power cable stays in. If it comes out, the battery usually has about a minute and a half of life to it. However, what pisses me off is that the battery will not charge again. It will sit and drain its power to zero, even with the AC cable plugged in, if the jack is disconnected even for a millisecond. The only way to charge it again is to shut down the computer and start it back up.

What the hell is up?

Answer:Satellite P15 - If the jack comes out, the battery stops charging

Hi Floydian,

Wow, Satellite P15 is really an ?oldie?.

I?m not an expert but for me it sounds like a battery or mainboard problem. A battery can be recharged about 500 times and after this will loose a lot of power. That means you can?t work only some minutes on battery mode.

In your case I would try a new battery. If it doesn?t work I think you need a new mainboard.
Have also a look on eBay. There you can get cheap second hand spare parts sometimes.

So it allways using battery.

What to do?

Answer:Satellite U400 - Battery is only charging if laptop is off

Hi!

What Satellite notebook you have?

At the moment I can?t say what the reason is for this. Maybe you should try to update the BIOS that you can find on the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers

In worst case it?s a mainboard malfunction and it must be replaced :(

I have a new Satellite C50t-A-10J which has intermittent charging issues. Sometimes it charges ok other times it states plugged in not charging. When not charging if I click on the battery icon charging starts and continues ok.

Does anyone know of a more automatic solution? I have read about similar issue solved by uninstalling then reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager but am reluctant to try as the computer is new.

I can of course go back to the retailer but thought I would post just in case someone had a similar solution.

Thanks

Hi Geoff

I guess this is not system problem.
It looks like your battery is faulty and therefore I recommend contacting the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country to get an battery replacement.

Hoping to get this solved quickly because it has turned my laptop into a desktop computer.

Everything was working fine until one day my battery decided to stop charging. It says "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and sometimes it says the same but "not charging". I have to have the AC adapter plugged in for it to power on.

I went in to Best Buy to hopefully get it fixed but my warranty doesn't cover battery replacements. They refused to help me out. I don't even believe that it needs to be totally replaced because it literally was working perfectly (holding charge, took hours to drain, only a year and a half old) until one day it magically wasn't.

Some other forums suggested I should remove the battery, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and put it back in. This doesn't work. I also tried removing the battery driver and trying a friend's AC adapter but neither resolved the issue.

I installed the free program BatteryInfoView by NirSoft to see if I can get some more info. This is what came up:
Unfortunately, I don't know what this all means. Notice that some values are just blank... ?

I'm running Windows 10, if that helps at all.

I'm a college student and at the moment I don't have the funds for a replacement battery, so really ANY other suggestion would be so appreciated.

I am having issues with charging my toshiba satellite A215. When I plug in my adapter it will say charging for a few minutes and then it will say plugged in and not charging...Has anyone experienced this and can tell me what the issue could be??? Thanks

Answer:Battery not charging on Toshiba Satellite A215

First you should check if the battery is correctly installed in the battery socket.
If it is, check if the cable is correctly plugged and that nothing is stuck in the cable port. Last, you could check if the cable is broken.

If none of these, i'm sorry, i can't help you.

Hello! Well my dad just bought a Laptop for his personal use about 3 weeks ago and yesterday he forgot the Laptop plugged in to the outlet for all day (about 10 hours) I told him there shouldn't be any problems, that day I received 2 GB of memory I ordered online and I just unplugged the Laptop and using ESD I open the bay and installed the memory, well my surprise when I turn it on was the battery at 3%, I was like: oh well he didn't plug the cord well or something and I plug it to the wall and the battery run out to 0%, I started to worry because it's not normal, then the battery status says "plugged in, not charging" all this is under Vista. I tried to change that but after 3 hours of being there looking for sometweaks to change that status of "not charging" I almost give up, when I took out the battery and then put it back and it start charging up to 100% in a couple of hours, I said well it's ok now, it was just the battery not properly assembled, today I turn on the laptop and it was on 0% again! I was like WTH is going on!! any ideas? suggestions? should I take it back to the store? I don't want to get there saying "oh the battery dies" and then end up being a software issue or something, please point me in the right direction, I will really appreciate your help!

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-B919 which i bought 9 months ago... IT was working fine but all of a sudden it stopped working without the charger being plugged in!!!

I have to plug in the charger all the time!

On start up it shows that the RTC is low and i need to set the time... i tried following the instructions and had set the time as well...but it still didnt change any thing... once the charger is taken off it switches off!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

Waiting for your response!

Answer:Battery charging Issue on Satellite C50-B919

Hi

RTC battery seems to be empty and therefore the BIOS data and time will be reset always when the AC adaptor isn?t connected.
To charge the RTC battery, you have to keep the AC adaptor connected for about 18-20 hours and the notebook must be ON!!!
Then the RTC battery would charge.

However, the main battery seems to be empty too and does not hold the charge anymore.
Probably you will need to replace the main battery.

Hi -

I have a Satellite P300D-11U

I've now bought 3 different xtra batteries. None of them will work - labtop doesn't recogninze any of them.
Only the original that came with the computer. When turned on, it says Remaning time unknown / unknown battery
If I plug in the AC cord, it says:
No battery found, not charging.

Every shop/manufactor have said it's a BIOS issue. That the BIOS can't communicate with the battery.
I've installed latest BIOS of August 20th 2008, no change - still the same.

Is there a new BIOS underway, or other solutions?

Kind Regards Bryan

Answer:Battery unknown - Not charging on Satellite P300D-11U

Hmmm?. I?ve got a U400 and the battery was recognized after BIOS update.
Maybe it?s not a BIOS issue but simply your battery or the motherboard is not ok.

Is the warranty valid?
If yes, you shouldn?t waste the time and should contact the ASP in your country for a notebook check. The warranty should cover everything!!!

Good luck

Can somebody answer this question please: When charging the battery on Satellite P200 and the battery gets to 100% charged, and the light goes blue is there a charge still going to the battery or does the pc disconnect the charge?

The reason I ask this is because my laptop is plugged in for long lengths of time and I don't want to fry the battery because 99% of the time its used like a desktop pc.

Answer:Question about charging battery on Satellite P200-1JV

Hi!

Have you checked the user manual for more informations? I have downloaded it on the Toshiba website because I have another model and I can find the following information about the Power LED:
+In normal operating mode, the Power LED is blue (depending on the model you purchased). If the system is in Sleep Mode the LED will flash amber, while the LED will be off when the computer is turned off or is in Hibernation mode.+

I don?t know if this information is useful for you but if the notebook is connected with the AC/DC adaptor the battery will not be used.

Hi there,

Since the old battery couldn't hold any charge anymore, a new battery was purchased. The new battery does not charge however.

Problem description:
new battery is recognized as being plugged in, but does not charge and remains at 63% (led-indicator of battery also remains off, unlike with the previous battery which was orange). The laptop works only on AC-adapter, as soon as AC-adapter is unplugged the system loses power as well. With the old battery, the system runs for 10 minutes before all charge is gone.

System is a Satellite L350-17T laptop with Windows 7 32-bit, age about 5 years. Curious side note, I thought that normally 3 drivers should appear in the device manager in Windows 7 within the batteries category (AC adapter, Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control driver and something like AC Battery driver; this last driver is not listed (nor are there any unrecognized devices in the device manager).

Done so far:

power cycling, holding power-button for 30 seconds with battery and AC-adapter unplugged, then rebooting. No result.Same as above, but then holding for 15 seconds.power cycling, including waiting for 12 hours in between to charge battery before rebootinguninstalled "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Driver" and rebooted (several times)Checked health of both batteries (old battery had wear level of 97%, new one diagnosed as o.k.)Updated BIOS (from 1.50 to 2.20), checked all drivers for updates.

My L755 is fairly new and was working fine. However, the battery is causing me concern. Today I turned on and the battery icon showed about 80%. I used the laptop, on battery, for around 10 minutes and the screen went blank and would not come back on.

I plugged in the mains and pressed the power button - it told me that is was recovering from a low power shutdown. I watched it charge, and it got to 80% in 15 minutes and sat there for 30 minutes before jumping to 100%. I unplugged the mains, and it went straight down to 80%. I suspect that the battery monitor software is to blame, but is there anything that I can do recalibrate it.

Then again, could it be a bad battery?

Answer:Battery Charging issue on Satellite L755-1LN

Hi

For me it sounds like battery issue? but try to calibrate the battery.
Remove/disconnect the AC adaptor and leave the notebook disconnected until the battery would be fully empty. Then connect the AC adaptor and leave it connected until the battery indictor would switch to green (or blue).

This procedure should be repeated two, three times to recalibrate the battery but if the battery is faulty this workaround would not help a lot.

Hello

I have a big problem with my Toshiba Satellite 2410-404 notebook.

The Battery does not charge. The orange charging-light is on, but windows doesn't say "charging". The battery state is 3%. Sometimes (rerely) it's growing up to 5 or 6%. If I deconnect the power suply, the notebook switches off after 10-20 seconds. First i thougt its a problem with the battery, so I changed it - the problem was still there. I also changed the charging-board (charging electronics) but the problem is still there.

Can it be a problem with the CMOS-Battery ? Because it's empty (if LiIon Battery is not insinde, laptop looses time and date).

I updated the Bios to the newest version from the Thoshiba Website and I'm using PowerSaver...

Do anyone have an idea ???

Thank you in advance

Answer:Satellite 2410-404 battery charging problem

Hi Rene,

I suspect the problem may be with your mains adapter. Your CMOS battery is not the problem since this is normally recharged from your mains adapter when it is connected to your notebook. The fact that your CMOS battery also has no charge indicates that the poroblem lies either with the charging subsystem or with the adapter itself.

Your mains adapter incorporstes an electronic regulator which adjusts the current being supplied to your notebook based on the demand. I suspect that this is causing insufficient current to be made available to operate your notebook and charge your CMOS and notebook batteries.

Hi,

My laptop shutdown when using battery power. It would not restart until I connected to the power. Every time I disconnected from power laptop would shutdown. laptop does not run on battery, nor lights work.
When plugged in orange light is on. Battery remains at 90% charge even after hours left on av power! I suggest I cant use battery power and battery is not charging.
Only had new battery in a month and has worked fine up till now.

I have tried adjusting toshiba power saver but has made no difference.

Answer:Satellite A60 - laptop battery not charging/working

I cannot say for sure if this happen because of battery or anything else. In my opinion it can be either battery or power supply electronic.
Satellite A60 is old notebook and everything is possible.

Preinstalled software doesn?t have any influence on all this. Toshiba power saver is preinstalled to manager power consumption, with other words to help reducing battery power consumption and make battery power supply longer.

I bought a _Satellite L750_ about a year ago.

Recently I have been having a problem where, occasionally, the charger will be plugged in but the battery continues to discharge (i.e. *charging fails*).

Something I have noticed is that, *when this occurs, both the Power and the Battery LEDs will both start flashing orange in sync.*

When it occurs, the power icon still says (Plugged in, charging) but the percentage will continue to decrease over time.

In order to temporarily fix it, I can take out and re-insert the power cord in, and it will continue charging like normal, but about thirty seconds later charging will fail again.

What is happening and how can I get this fixed?

Answer:Satellite L750 - battery charging fails

Hi

Usually the battery indicator glows white if the battery is fully charged.
Amber indicates the battery is charging and flashing amber indicates a low battery condition.

The DC-In indicator (first from left) flashes amber only if output voltage from the adaptor is abnormal or if the computer?s power supply malefactions.

So firstly you should check if this happens using new, good tested AC adaptor.
If this does not help, check new battery.

I have just bought a Satellite P100-188 and it's my first laptop, it says in the manual "Once a battery pack is fully charged, it is recommended that you operate the computer only on battery power until the battery pack completely discharges. Doing so extends battery life and helps ensure accurate monitoring of battery capacity" and "Leaving the AC adapter connected will shorten battery life. At least once a week, run the computer on battery power until the battery is fully discharged, then recharge the battery".

I was wondering if I should unplug it from the mains every time the battery shows charged? As I only need to use the PC on batteries for short periods (most of the time I can connect to a power socket) would it be worth completely removing the battery and running on AC power alone (can I even do this?)

at these times, I know that batteries have a finite charge life and I'm just a little concerned as to the proper procedure if any for a long battery life, as they can be pretty expensive to replace. Also is it wise to place the battery on charge when it shows as half or a quarter power, or should I let it drain completely before charging?

I would appreciate some advice from all you seasoned laptop users out there.

Answer:Satellite P100-188: Advice on the charging of battery

Hi,

you should treat a battery like it is in the manual.
Fully charge, use it until it is empty, then charge again.

Only connect the laptop to main power if necessary (means battery is empty).

Hi,
My laptop is a Satellite M70-165 PSM70E. I'm using Windows XP Home. I recently bought a new battery and it is impossible to charge it above 50%. I updated BIOS to 1.70 (for non Windows Vista users) and I still have the problems aforementioned. I tried to dischage it completely and charge it again, several times, with no luck.

Is there any solution?

One more question. There is no "EC version" in BIOS, only "BIOS version 1.70". I hoped there will be some battery calibration or power management after BIOS update, but there is no "Power Management" menu in BIOS.

Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite M70-165 PSM70E - battery charging issue

In my opinion the new battery is not OK.
You should definitely check another new battery? maybe you bought an already used battery???

On the Toshiba EU driver page you can find one BIOS update.
I assume such update contain the EC update too.

How long does one charge the battery for (very first time use - out of the box)?
Have read all the documentation and nothing stated. I'd assume overnight - can anyone confirm please.

Answer:Charging the battery on brand new Satellite A notebook

Hi!

Which Satellite notebook do you have?

I don?t know how long it takes to fully load the battery but normally you can see this on the LED?s on the notebook. If it lights green, the battery is loaded.
And if load the notebook overnight, it?s really full loaded on morning.

Hi!
I have Satellite L855-188. I have a question. My note is at home, almost every time. So How should i charge it? Can i use it, when always connected to electricity? Or i must sometimes disconnect it?

Answer:Satellite L855 - question about battery charging

Generally speaking you can do whatever you want. For instance my notebook is permanently connected to AC adapter and I use it every day. What you can do is to use it from time to time with battery power supply. Just make the battery empty and connect it to AC power supply again. Do it once a week.

> Can i use it, when always connected to electricity?
Yes.
> Or i must sometimes disconnect it?
Generally speaking you must not do it but you can do it from time to time.

How can this be done? Help!!!!

I HAVE A SATELLITE TOSHIBA THAT I BOUGHT FROM AMAZON AND IS NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY. COFFEE SPILLED ON IT WHILST I WAS DOING SOME WORK AND IT SWITCHED OFF.

I LEFT IT TO DRY AND WHEN IT WAS TURNED ON, IT WOULD NOT COME ON, I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL COMPUTER SHOP WHERE IT WAS CLEANED AND I WAS TOLD TO GET A NEW BATTERY, BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS BAD, SO I GOT A BRAND NEW BATTERY FROM EBAY.

THIS TIME , THE PROBLEM WAS THAT, IT WOULD CHARGE FOR ONE MINUTE AND THEN STOP CHARGING. I DECIDED TO TRY THE OLD BATTERY WITH THE LAPTOP AND FOUND IT CHARGED FOR EVEN 2MINUTES AND SWITCHED OFF. THEN I CONCLUDED THE PROBLEM WAS NOT THE BATTERY BUT MAYBE FROM THE MOTHERBOARD. BUT SINCE IT IS A NEW LAPTOP I WAS ADVISED TO JOIN THE ONLINE TOSHIBA FORUM, SO THAT I WILL BE DIRECTED TO WHERE THE PROBLEM WOULD BE SOLVED PERMANENTLY.

PLEASE COULD ANY ONE HELP. I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL..

THANKS

>BUT SINCE IT IS A NEW LAPTOP I WAS ADVISED TO JOIN THE ONLINE TOSHIBA FORUM, SO THAT I WILL BE DIRECTED TO WHERE THE PROBLEM WOULD BE SOLVED PERMANENTLY.

What to say; the coffe has been spilled on the notebook and any fluid is not really good for a internal parts especially for the motherboard.

I have no idea what part has been damaged exactly due to the spilled coffee but it looks like an motherboard part is affected. Maybe the power supply electronic is faulty?

I think the notebook needs an check? and don?t ask any pseudo amateur technicians because such guys just talk about possible issues.

The unit needs to be checked by an professional technician (Toshiba authorized service partner in your country) who has some special tools and diagnosis software.

I've had a Toshiba Satellite laptop L755-11J for nearly three years.

It has now indicated the battery is charging low and to replace it.

What is the average time that battery lasts? Understand they have to run out sometime but seems a bit early.

Looking for an on-line replacement via Toshiba but cannot seem to see it.

Thanks.

Answer:Satellite L755-11J battery charging low question

Battery life time is not the same for all batteries. Some of them work longer than other. There is no some rule about it.

After 4 years battery on my machine has started to lose capacity and life time was shorter and shorter.
When you want to have new battery remove original one, check part number and using this part number you can order it somewhere. I don?t know where do you live but I can imagine that some online PC store offers original batteries for Toshiba notebooks.
