Portege Z20T - Touchscreen and Digitizer not turned off with screen.

Question: Portege Z20T - Touchscreen and Digitizer not turned off with screen.

Hi

When I turn the display off, the touchscreen and digitizer are still enabled, so, if I touch the screen, the display comes back on. Any way to solve this?

Also, not sure if related, if I turn the screen off and leave it overnight, the battery drops by 25-30% in about 8 hours. Same thing happens when I leave the screen turned off for a short period of time, the battery just doesn't last. Not sure if its because the touchscreen and digitizer are still on.

P.S. Running on upgraded Windows 10 64bit.

Preferred Solution: Portege Z20T - Touchscreen and Digitizer not turned off with screen.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hey,

i tried to install a toshiba Z20t-c-11g

OS: Windows 10 LTSB
Driver: complete

I tried to install the new BIOS from the drivers page on toshiba.eu.
That BIOS sadly does not work ...? Why?

Anyway... the problem i had and i wanted to have fixed is:

Bitlocker encrypted my whole drive.
it starts correctly and displays the keyboard.
GPO: Keyboard Slates (or something like that) is activated.
BUT: Touchscreen does not work. That means.. i can see the keyboard but it does not work.
thats why i wanted to update my bios but it says it is not working on my computer... well thats frustrating...
why offer the bios update when it does not work at all... or is it some sort of windows 7 only? cant imagine that tbh.

i guess the only problem is the bios but i could be wrong (z20t-b works on same settings for example)

Any help would be pretty nice. Thanks ..

I can't find any reliable info whether the z20t-b or z20t-c supports the DisplayPort Alternate Mode over its usb type c port. If so does it support 3840*[email protected] ?

Hi
I've got a z20t-B-107. Lovely machine, upgraded to win 10, all working fine - I had to download a new Wacom driver to get the 'left-click' to work with the pen.

I'm using it in tablet mode to digitise some data points on a map, and to sketch with the pen. However, when I rest my hand on the screen it 'activates' the touch screen and makes things go crazy. I really need to be able to temporarily switch off the touch digitiser and have only the Wacom digitiser running, and if I can toggle it on/off somehow that would be useful. Otherwise i need to use the pen in a very unnatural position to avoid touching the screen with my hand.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note which uses the Wacom type digitiser - it doesn't seem to suffer from this, as soon as it detects the pen near the screen it appear to switch off the touch part.

I would be grateful for any help - I've tried search engines but they only seem to give results about touch pads, and that's completely different...

Many thanks in advance

Answer:Portege Z20t - can I turn touch screen OFF?

Hi,

I use a Z20t too (but with Win8.1) and have the same problem. I have decided to switch off the touch complete. It is not a good solution, but a good working with OneNote is only with switching off the touch functionality possible.
Maybe this is a possible solution for you.
In Win8.1 I switched off the driver in the device manager.

I found the following steps here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...d55591d?auth=1

1. Right-click and select "All Apps" at the lower right corner, then select Control Panel
2. Select Hardware and Sound
3. Select Device Manager
4. Select Human Interface Devices
5. From the list, look for the driver for the touch screen. This can be tricky since on my tablet they are all listed as "USB Input Device" and there are 3 of them. I found it by disabling and re-enabling one at a time until the touch screen stopped responding. You can also identify the touch screen by checking the Properties | Details and get the "Hardware Ids" then do a search online to see what the device is. In my case, the touch screen has the ID USB/VID_0EEF&PID_7302.
6. Once you know which is the touch screen, disable the driver and the touch screen should no longer work
Enable this device to make the touch screen work again.

I undocked the screen from the keyboard without issue (using the "eject hardware safely" icon), but when reattaching the screen, it does not recognize the keyboard. Physical connection is 100%, but no communication at all. Usually it dings and switches from tablet mode to PC mode. Not this time. Interestingly, it DOES know that the keyboard is being charged, but only "Battery 2" is present.

Any ideas before sending it to the dreaded "Depot"?

Ciao!

I own a Portege Z20T B-10C which is a rather nice machine, but has one annoying flaw: The screen gets scratched by virtually any contact. For example, I can't use the "emergency pen" for touch input or to write on the screen as it causes scratches. Also, the screen has already collected a series of scratches shaping the outline of the touchpad, i.e. supposedly produced when closing the laptop. Hence, you can't really use the laptop the way it should be used and I fear that a few months from now the screen will be filled with scratches.

While I'm waiting for my notebook shop to decide whether this is a warranty case or not, I wonder if anyone of you owns this model and has come across the same problem?

Cheers,
Stefan

Answer:Portege Z20T: Screen becomes scratched by virtually anything

I have exactly the same problem. I've only been using the machine since July and already it's quite damages. Basically the screen rubs against the dock and I have the imprint in the outline of the touchpad. I'm concerned that they will soon damaging the images captured by the camera since the outline of the touch pad is right over the lens.

Toshiba is so far unwilling to repair this and I've included the response from my account rep below. Frankly, I was shocked since this is such an expensive computer and the cause of the problem seems so obvious. I was also disappointed that they didn't consider this thread when evaluating my case since it is the first result when one Googles 'portege scratched screen'.
Hello Eric,

I sent your email with the pictures of your laptop screen scratches. They replied back saying that the scratches are not due to a manufacture defect and there have not been another reports of other Z20t touchscreens getting scratches like this on the screen, so there is nothing they can do to replace it. Our Customer Service Manager will usually just make the call to replace it, if the laptop is with the first 90 days, which is 2 ? months past the normal return policy. He was not able to get the approval to replace it.

I am glad that you were able to get this laptop back up and running. Please keep that Business Technical Support number handy for any future needs, which I hope that you do not ever have to use it in the future. Please give me ... Read more

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Portege Z20T-C. I purchased it 6 months ago. After 3 months it developed a white ghost spot on the screen (approx 1cm across) which I now understand to be a pressure mark.

I don't actually use the touch screen of the laptop so I was surprised about this.

I wondered if any other Z20T owners have had this problem. Since I don't use the touch screen I wondered if it was a common fault with this model.

I did send the laptop back to be looked at under Toshiba's repair and warranty, but was told it wasn't covered and it'd cost me ?528 to repair.

I paid this. It took 3 months to get the machine back and the new screen has a similar pressure mark, just on a different part of the screen. Plus I have a lot of nice scratches all over my (was as new) laptop.
I suspect the pressure mark was caused by the engineer whilst reassembling the machine and pressing on the screen.

The Toshiba repair company say I can send it back to be re-assessed. They won't guarantee to fix it under their 90 day warranty - only to assess it.

I certainly won't spend another ?528 and wait another 3 months.
So, I've had a very expensive laptop for 3 months that's now pretty useless.
I can't say I'm having the best experience as a Toshiba customer.

Does anyone have any advice?

Hi

We have bought a Portege Z20t-C-121 to test it as a replacement for some of our senior management. I re-built it with Windows 10 Enterprise and installed all the latest Drivers from the Toshiba Website. The Intel Wi-Fi Driver did not work correctly so I downloaded and installed it from the Intel website.

The only thing I can't get to function seems to be the auto screen rotation; when I un-dock the screen to use it as a tablet Windows detects this and switches to tablet mode but, however I turn the screen it remains in the same landscape orientation that it was in when it was docked.

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
OS Version: 10.0.10586 N/A Build 10586

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this feature to work please?

Answer:Portege Z20t-C-121 screen does not auto rotate in tablet mode

Did you install the Toshiba System Driver and Toshiba System Settings?

Hello,

in the instructions:

Changing the screen orientation
When operating the computer in tablet mode, you can change the screen orientation by roting the computer sideways. The screen orientation automatically changes according to the rotation angle detected.

But it does not go!
The operating system is windows 10.

What can i do?

In the description of Portege Z20t-b-xxx the “Assisted GPS” is mentioned.

The assisted GPS is part of the 3G module… so it should work using the 3G connection too.

Hi,
I have a Z20t-C-15M. SN 5H071828H. Online specs says there's a battery inside the docking keyboard and a battery inside the tablet.
Battery indicators is saying Battery # 1 is not present whereas battery led indicator in the keyboard dock displays no light (nor white nor orange).
Battery indicators is saying battery # 2 present and led indicator is white on the tablet.
Is this a normal behavior or an issue ? Why can'I get the secondary battery ?
From the specs :
Battery Life up to 9h30min tablet only (Mobile Mark? 2014 running Win10)
up to 19h tablet & keyboard (Mobile Mark? 2014 running Win10)

Good morning, after using the Lenovo x61t for over 7 jears it is time to find a new one.

The z20t seems to be the only one which fits my needs:
* convertible
* track stick
* at least full HD display (and not a mirror one!)
* VGA
* native(!) Ethernet

The only drawback is the little ssd (max. 256) and that is only HDMI 1,4, no 2.0 (CPU limitation) or Display Port to get [email protected]

Then I stumbled over a Z20t-B-10C-SE with a 500 GB SSD ! Is this real or a fake? It was listed yesterday with 16 GB RAM, today with only 8 GB RAM.

If I'm allowed to dream, I would add these ones to the z20T:
* the third mouse button to the trackstick for scrolling (this is something I use almost everytime))
* Perhaps putting 16 GB RAM to the notebook
* HDMI 2.0 or Displayport - this problem is solved itself via an upgrade to Skylake which provides HDMI 2.0
* Having PCe-Lanes (one would be enough) in the dock connector
The last one enables to have more keyboard variants:
* the one which is offered today
* one with a ExpressCard slot (additional card reader, more USB ports, TV cards, special internet connection cards, interface cards for data aquisition etc.)
* one with a ExpressCard slot & second SSD/HDD bay (e.g. for a "cheap & really big HDD")

Additional, a "small & tiny" one for people for which every gramm is important could be nice (no, I prefer the "standard" one which comes with the z20t a lot over the tiny ones which comes with many other tables)... Read more

Answer:Portege Z20t-B-10C-SE - hardware specification question

Your “dreams” sounds good

- The additional 3rd mouse button… well I never required such button on my touchpad… so for me such button would be useless…

- 16GB RAM… definitely big YES… but unfortunately this Portege Z20t-B-10C supports max 8GB RAM… this limitation appears due to the chipset/CPU

- Espress Card slot is could be a nice-to-have feature but I think this kind of interface is already more or less in decline…

Hi,

I am interested to see if anyone else is experiencing this issue. Since upgrading Windows 10 to the latest Version 1511, Build 10586 released in November by Microsoft i am having strange issues with the Conexant HD Audio device.

The issue being when i am playing stereo music and i encounter a lower volume section of the music (i.e - strings etc) the sound switches from Stereo to Mono and when the volume of the track increases it again reverts to stereo. Sometimes it switched back and forth regularly which is irritating.

I have the latest DTS Studio Sound (1.2.41) for Windows 10 and the correct Conexant HD Audio driver from Toshiba (8.66.5.52) and this is the exact same driver/software version i had prior to updating Windows 10 to the latest version so the issue has definately been caused by the update.

To get around the issue i have installed the generic High Defination Audio Device drivers from Microsoft and the issue no longer occurs but i obvisuly can no longer use DTS Studio Sound with these drivers.

I am hoping Toshiba will be releasing a new DTS Studio Sound and/or driver to correct this issue.

Thanks in advance

Shaun

Last April I bought a Port?g? Z20T-C 13Q (PT16AE-02J03LCE) and a Stylus Pen (PA5133U-1EUC), with the intention of starting to use this device (as in the advertising itself of the product is announced) Other uses, take notes and draw schemes.

Unfortunately, I saw from the beginning that the Stylus Pen did not work. I thought the reason was that neither the Wacom drivers nor the TruNote program were installed. There was no major problem, because I downloaded those files from the support page for my Port?g?. After installing them, my computer still does not recognize the pressure of my fingers, let alone the presence of the Stylus (maybe because I have chosen the wrong stylus).

Please: What should I do? How do I get to use my computer as it is initially advertised on the website? What Stylus do I need?

Curiously, on an Amazon website we recommend this Stylus Pen as Toshiba Portege Z20T Stylus Pen, and for that reason I bought it from the Toshiba dealer along with the computer.

Thank you for answering my questions.

I?ve got a Z20t-B-10C with a 256 GB SSD Samsung MZNTE256HMHP, which is a SATA M.2 2280 module.

I assume, I could replace this one by any other SATA M.2 2280 module, like the new SanDisk X400 1 TB (also named SD8SB8U-1T00-1122 or SD8UB8U-1T00-1122, don?t know the difference yet).

Does anyone know, where I could also replace it by a PCIe M.2 2280 module (also called NVMe), like the Samsung SSD SM951-NVMe 512 GB M.2 (MZVPV512HDGL) or the Plextor M6e 512 GB M.2 (PX-G512M6E)? Do I have to look for the M.2 ?B? and/or ?M? key?

I dont think the notebook supports PCIe, you should get a SATA drive to ensure compatibility.

ThinkPad Super Low Profile TrackPoint Cap Set, Part number:4XH0L55146. this is the cap fits to thinpad x1 yoga.

since having z20t for the last year and half. I still can not find any other 2-in-1 to be better. this comes from someone who had previously only used the most expensive thinkpad models and updating every 1-2 years.

however, the trackpoint cap drives me a bit crazy as I rely on it most time as a 10+ year thinkpad user. it is tiny, needs a lot of force to move, and after a while, the surface becomes smooth and easy to slip.

I did tons of search and bought quite a few replacement caps to try, none worked. and it bugs me that toshiba does not sell a replacement either. so one day when the cap wears out or damaged, I would need to buy a new keyboard dock at least.

finally I found one that works perfectly, from no other than thinkpad itself.

It fits perfect into the space, right size recess to connect to keyboard, just a bit higher than keyboard surface for easier usage. It is also low enough that it does not touch screen at all (far from it) when closed.

more importantly, as it is bigger and have many dimple on it. it is actually much much better user experience. I would say now it would give similar feeling as the best thinkpad trackpoint now. no slip, needs much less force to move around.

I found this solution by accident as I bought a... Read more

The current driver in my computer is:-

After some frustration trying to figure out why my digitizer/pen suddenly stopped working in slate mode, I've determined that if the screen is turned 180 degrees counter clockwise (left) the digitizer/pen stops working, regardless of the tilt of the screen.  It works fine in any other position, including 180 degrees clockwise (right).  If you're having issues try out the other direction. Is this likely to be a problem with the hinge or a software issue? (windows 7 pro x64) I havn't had this problem before, and although its likely that I favour rotating the screen one way, I would have (probably) noticed it by now.  It seems like it has appeared in the last few days. I've used system restore to roll back to my virgin Windows 7 + office installation, and it hasn't solved the problem -- but system restore isn't perfect.  I'm loathesome to restore an image of the machine in that state or reinstall Windows 7 until later this month when school calms down since it does work one way. I've tried reinstalling all of the tablet associated lenovo downloads (buttons, shortcut menu...).  Any other thoughts?

Hello,

on a Z20t-B-10C with one minor modification (upgraded to a 500GB Samsung SSD, dropped recovery partition, but not the EFI partition), I have the following issue:
When the BestCrpyt Pre-boot screen shows up, I cannot directly enter the passphrase, but have to 1) hit at least one key 2) wait for approx. 10 sec. 3) delete the entered key(s) and then 4) enter the passphrase.
Thought it may have to do with a delayed interaction between tablet and keyboard dock, but a USB keyboard directly connected to the tablet, not the dock, shows the same behaviour. Trying different things in the Bios (switching to UEFI legacy, etc.), with no effect. This phenomenon is, according to their support, not known to the BestCrypt people. Operation system is Windows 10 64bit, all drivers and bios are recent.
Has anybody else observed this behaviour? Or experience with other full disk encryption which are compatible with a UEFI bios?
Thank you in advance,
Kind regards,
Rob

Hi there, I hope you know why it is important as user of a tablet pc to have a good accuracy at writing and touching on your display. So this is why I am asking myself why is it impossible to calibrate digiziter and touchscreen under Windows 7 so it fits our needs as customer? It is not acceptable that the cursor moves more than 3mm from the position of the digitizer. The calibration tool integrated in Windows 7 is just poor. I get distances between cursor and digitizer up to 2cm when I use it!When I use the Wacom driver the calibration is way more useful but the driver itself isn't. So it is not an alternative to the Lenovo Enhanced Multitouch Driver. As you can see on this blog it is possible to use the calibration tool with another grid so you get a much better calibration. But up to now I am not able to find a way to use this also for calibrating the digitizer. Hey Lenovo, what about to improve the calibration on Windows 7? You would help many many many of your customers. I love my ThinkPad X200t. For me it's the best notebook I could find for my money. Especially for the reason that I use my ThinkPad for artwork I need a very good calibration.

Answer:Calibration of Digitizer and Touchscreen

Agreed! After carefully calibrating my digitizer, there is still a 4mm+ discrepancy between my digitizer pen and the cursor around the edges of my display.I'm looking forward to hearing the calibration solution.

Hello. Here is my problem, I searched the net for a solution, haven't found.I have a Lenovo X60, model 6366 - with both capative touchscreen and digitizer pen. I worked fine until recently when I have to apply extreme pressure to hear the sound for touching - both touchscreen and digitizer pen.I had installed some of the recommended drivers from the Lenovo support center - for example, the multitouch driver (which didn't work). What is strange is that everything worked fine until recently; maybe it has something to do with the hinge problem - the hinge became very loose (I suspect someone dropped my computer), now I searching for a way to open and tighten it.Details:- I am running Windows 7 32-bit;- the digitizer worked well - even holding the pen over the screen (hovering, not touching) moved the pointer;- the touchscreen worked too - with a bit of pressure, but a reasonable amout of it, I could use my computer;- after I ran TuneUp 2013 StartUp Manager it disabled "Tablet Shortcut Menu", "Tablet Button" and "TSMResident" and the buttons on the screen stopped working - for example, I cannot change the orientation of the screen; I reenabled the programs, tried running the exe-files, but the buttons do not work anymore;- I have never succeeded to make multitouch work (the latest Wacom drivers - ISD_DualTouch_710-8 - made Windows say I have no touchscreen and no digitizer devices...); pressure sensitivity never worked too; a very nice diagnostics tool showed this (now it say... Answer:X60 - touchscreen and digitizer stopped working

Hi, vader11111

Your suspicion of possible damage to your machine could be correct, but there are a few other updates/changes that you might be able to try to see if that solves/helps your issue.

You've updated the drivers, but have you updated the BIOS? The BIOS being up to date can sometimes help several issues. You can also check the drivers on the support site to make sure you have the latest drivers. I know you've updated them from Lenovo Support Center, but I always recommend people to check the support website just to make sure. You can find the drivers and BIOS updates for your machine here. You can filter the results by searching the types of drivers you are seeking in the first dropdown box and Windows 7 in the second box.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes,
Adam

Most passive digitizers of lenovo tablets (at least older ones - x41t, x60t, x61t) are hard, i.e. significant pressure from user's finger is required before system will register a "click" from touchscreen. Are there any models or modifications of x series tablets with soft touchscreens, like touchscreens of most windows mobile communicators and "touchphones" (iPhone, LG Vievty etc.), i.e. tablets with touchscreens that require nothing more than a "mere touch" to register "click"?Maybe hardness of touchscreen can be reduced through its driver settings?

Answer:Touchscreen / passive digitizer: can it be soft?

agravein wrote: Are there any models or modifications of x series tablets with soft touchscreens, like touchscreens of most windows mobile communicatorsHmm...I honestly don't know if there is any mod, but I don't think there is a solution for you so far. Nonethess, my thought of this touch screen is different. I am PDA fanatics as well, but when I first got X61T, I thought that this resistive digitizer was so great because it was really durable. I could use my nail directly on the screen without fear of scratch. While on PDA screen protector is a must, I wrote graffiti on my Palm until I had to change screen protector because there were many scratches and I couldn't see the screen clearly. From that day, it's over a year, I still don't see any scratch on my X61 screen. Although you have to press a bit harder, but I think it's not that bad. I also have tx2500z which has really soft passive digitizer and Dell XT which has capacitive digitizer. Yes, XT is the best if you use in portrait mode reading & scrolling things, but what I don't like most is tx2500z because "touch" is too light, I always get dot on when my palm touch on screen while inking. I don't have that issue with X61T at all. agravein wrote: "touchphones" (iPhone, LG Vievty etc.), i.e. tablets with touchscreens that require nothing more than a "mere touch" to register "click"?Maybe hardness of touchscreen can be reduced through its driver settings? That's capacitive touch. ... Sadly the touchscreen of my ENVY x360 15-aq055na has cracked and now only one half of the screen responds to touch. My main problem is I'm having difficulties finding out which screen digitizers are compatibile with my model though. So i was wondering which digitizer panels would I be able to replace with my current broken one? ThanksRick

Answer:HP ENVY x360 Touchscreen Digitizer

That can be tricky. I am in the process of trying to find one for an Envy Spectre 13t that I donated to a no-for-profit organization a couple of years ago. Some one damaged the touchscreen. You will have to first check to see which screen yours has. Is it one with a UHD (3840 X 1260) or an FHD (1920 x 1080) display? The FHD version has a 30 pin connector and the UHD version has a 40-pin connector.According to the MSG document, yours has an FHD display, so you need the thirty pin display version. Which region of the world do you live in?  I need to know that to perform a search for a replacement screen. I will edit this shortly. Here is one in the UKhttp://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/HP-COMPAQ-ENVY-X360-15-AQ055NA-15.6-LAPTOP-SCREEN-NO-DIGITIZ...

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

Hi,

I'm having a little difficulty finding replacement /spare digitizer pens for my M930 Portege- I still have the pen that Came with it, but I am notorious for losing this sort of thing so I'd like to be ready for the inevitable and know where I can get spares before I'm stuck without one!

Please note I am only after the pen that came with the M930- l am aware l Can use wacom pens, or other digitizer pens but I really want the same as I have so it will still slot into the laptop, as soon as the pen has to stay separate I'll be losing them all the time and at $30-40 a pop that'll get expensive quick! I've looked through the manual and cant find a part number for it, nor has google found much of use.

Do you know where I can get another M930 digitizer pen? =)
Thanks for any help! ~ Ash C

Answer:Portege M930 digitizer pen spare

I guess if you want to use exactly the same pen which was delivered with the Portege M930, you should contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country. The service guys should be able to order such part (if available) directly from Toshiba main warehouse

I assume a driver for the non-touch version of this computer is installed on this laptop. My Windows 8.1 screen no longer has side swipe capabilities, pinch, or holding for "right-click". Basically, whenever I touch, a mouse pointer appears. I am only able to scroll with the scoll bars. Any idea which drivers I should look at, or other place to begin to resore functionality?

Is this possible?

My friend has an M700 and he disabled the touchscreen feature, so it is possible.

I am trying to restore an old Toshiba Portege M400. I have WIN XP Tablet 2005 installed and what I think are all the drivers. Everything works great except the touchscreen.

I have been all over the web, downloaded and installed some WACOM drivers aswas suggested in another thread here - still no luck.

Anybody have any ideas or experience about how to fix this?

Answer:Touchscreen is not working on old Portege M400

Unfortunately I don?t have this Portege and cannot help you with this but what you can do is to check Installations Instructions document and check if you have installed all stuff listed there.

Check it out and post some feedback.

Answer:Portege M400 - where to find XP Touchscreen driver

Hi mate

Take a look on the Toshiba US driver page
[Portege M400-S5032 drivers|http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=1598633& rpn=PPM40U&modelFilter=M400-S5032&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768662]

There you should find the Wacom Dual Touch Driver for Windows Vista/XP
I think this is a right one.

Hi,
I have been trying to get an 8" touchscreen monitor working with my A 200. There are no problems with seeing it etc. The problem I'm having is that when the system is toggled between the notebook and Monitor, the Touchscreen reverts back to the notebook graphics settings (1024 x 768).
I'm trying to run the Touchscreen at 800 x 600 and notebook at 1024 x 768. How do set the system so it will remember the settings?
TIA
Wayne

Answer:Portege A200 - touchscreen monitor settings

Hi

The Toshiba European driver page provides drivers for Prot?g? A200? they are placed in Archive.

I checked this and found a Display Service for external Monitor.
I recommend installing this.
Furthermore the notebook seems to use the 852GM internal graphic chip. It?s from Intel.
So maybe you should update the display driver too.

Last but not least check if you are using the latest BIOS.

Have very old Portege tablet that I use for teaching.
Recently have 2 issues.

First Fn F5 stopped working (used to tap through different display options and now doesn't)
It will work with some projectors if turn computer on while connected but not others.
Have tried all control panel/windows mobility options to no avail.

More importantly the touchscreen has stopped responding to either finger or pen.
If I open windows journal and try to write the file name and menu options just go grey and the cursor temporarily disappears.

After a few seconds if I jiggle my finger on the mouse pad the cursor reappears and if I then click the mouse button the menu options can be selected again, but as soon as I try to write the same thing happens.

I have checked that all Wacom drivers are working properly and up to date and that the pen and input device settings are correct - please help!

Hi

To be honest I don?t know why the tablet feature stopped working but I guess its software issue and should be fixed by driver/software reinstallation.

First of all I would recommend you to uninstall the following software parts:

Hi purchased a Toshiba R200 in Australia about 2-3 months ago with the standard battery and the extended battery. My problem is that even when I turn the machine off the battery continues to discharge (i.e. it is not hibernating nor is it suspended). For example I left the computer off power for 4 days and did not touch it. When I came back and used it the main battery had dropped to 60% and the extended battery had also dropped to around 60% (both were full when I left). It looses about 10% per day. I've never experienced this before in the 5 dell/toshiba notebooks I've had before.

It can't be my usage of the batteries because I rarely use the machine away from its power adapter. At most the batteries have experienced maybe 10 full charge/discharge cycles since I've had it. Also if I do run on battery power I will get around 7-8 hours of battery with the main and extended battery (which is normal) so it doesn't seem like 'memory effect' from the battery.

I'm trying to disconnect the batteries from the computer for a few days to check if it is the battery or the computer, however I just wanted to find out if anyone has any ideas or experiences with this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Portege R200 - Battery discharges when turned off

Hi

Believe me it is normal. At my notebook happened the same thing. Over night there is deficit of 3 ? 5% of battery capacity. Don?t worry about it. Only what you can do is to do something about maximizing battery life.

For Nickel Metal Hydride batteries (NiMH) the battery will better hold a charge if allowed to discharge at least once a week. The chemical reactions that correspond to charge and discharge in a rechargeable battery should occur to obtain the maximum number of charge/discharge cycles in the battery.

It is not necessary to remove the battery from the computer during the week when it is on AC power.

Google a little bit around. You can find a lot of useful information about notebook-battery.

On this forum you can find similar discussions and many users have reported about this known issue. I just hope that you have charged the battery on the right way like described in user?s manuals.

Bye

Hi I have hp laptop with following properties: Natural Silver 13.3" pavillion x360 13 s194nr convertible laptop with 6th gen core i5 processor, 6 GB of ram, touchscreen 500 GB hard drive and windows 10. recently my touchscreen digitizer has been broken and I had such a hard time to work with my laptop. I want to replace my broken digitizer by the new one, but unfortunately I couldn't find any web site providing me a link to buy a digitizer, although I searched a lot. I lived in Pakistan and needed it within reasonable time. So, I just wanted to know if there is anyone here knows how to buy a digitizer for Natural Silver 13.3" pavillion x360 13 s194nr convertible laptop?

Answer:Where can I buy a touch screen digitizer for hp?

Hi, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I have gone through your issue of touchscreen digitizer has been broken. So there are Two option: 1.  If your product is under warranty then contact HP call center and asking for that hardware replacement in HP service center. So hp executive will help you as needed. Also you can call if it's out of warranty and want to fix it. 2. You can purchase online also , as few online sellers are selling that product and fix it on your own. I would recomend the option 1. Hope this will help. Thanks.  ****Click the White Kudos star to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem****

I have a cracked screen on Yoga 2 13  and i am thinking to replace it. Since warranty is not working I contacted the service centre and they offered the replacment for the price of new laptop. So I said thanks either I will use as it is or find cheaper.  So please help me find the cheaper one which the most importantly fits to my one. I bought it in China (but not there anymore) and as I see the whole screen no. is 73048979. Also it issaid on paper  "13,3 FHD LED TS". I find part no. like B133HAT02.0   or LP133WF2 SP A1. But not the previous one. Can you help with finding the right one. It is frustrating a bit since I am not tech man. I am thinking sending back from here: http://www.365laptoprepair.com/Product/Lenovo-Yoga-2-13-Screen-Only or from ebay where I can find cheaper Chinese one. Hi guys, So I took my laptop out of my bag about a week ago and found this:http://imgur.com/HIRHJ(I took the photo today, I've been too busy to deal with the issue for the past week but I've played around with it now.) As you can see on the screen, there is a large crack across the top right (which I have no clue where it came from, considering I had nothing in my bag but the laptop and my bag was never impacted in any way). Most importantly, however, no image is displayed, which renders my laptop unusable as a laptop (and I desperately need it for uni, fortunately this past week was a break but now I am without a laptop to take notes in...) Plugging in the laptop to an external monitor works fine as expected, however, so does the digitizer pen. i.e. if I wave my pen above the broken screen, it appears to work perfectly on the duplicated external monitor, clicking and all. So, my guess is that all I need to do is replace the screen, right? According to the manual, http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/0a60175_04.pdf (where mine is 4294-CTO), the LCD panel I want is 04W1545. I've found one for $175 which is great, but when I asked if the place could also replace the screen for me, they said it would no longer be a tablet. They said they "think I might need to get the full screen + digitizer for $650 + installation" which is utterly ridiculous, considering that's nearly the price I paid for the laptop. What I wa... Read more

Answer:Screen replacement - digitizer support

replacing the Tablet LCD is a very expensive exercise, since there is also a digitizer layer involved. Try calling Lenovo warranty service, and ask about aftermarket parts sale, and specifically request the parts . But it won't be cheap, around the price that you have been quoted for the full repair. If you are worried about cost, then you should probably sell your current laptop for parts or as it is. And then get another X220t.

Aftermarket parts for the X220t screen assembly isn't widely available, so this drives up the price of available parts. From the picture, you got the X220i Tablet, which is not sold in Australia.

1) Would it be possible for a 12.1" wxga (1280x800) screen to work correctly in it? Does HP use a generic monitor plug-in for all their laptops that would allow the screen to plug in?

2) If the resolution was higher would that require a new digitizer?

Did the earlier models of the thinkpad yogas sold on lenovo.com all come with the wacom digitizers? I've read that all models of the thinkpad yoga sold on lenovo.com came with the wacom digitizer. Hello Summary:I bought a 20CD0001IV about two months ago (Demopool). I need it for work and drawing, but so far I have numerous issues. And right now I'm kinda lost: What should I do? Send a support question to lenovo/IBM EC? Contact my retailer? Are these common problems? I'm also not sure about my warranty. The Lenovo Solution Center says, I still have warranty. The different parts of the website say different things. I'll assume worst case: My warranty is likely expired. I tried:Fresh Installation Windows 8.1, newest drivers, newest Wacom drivers. Tried different settings. Calibration, Pressure Curves, all the stuff. Have 3 different Pens. Searched google, searches this forum... Problems:Massive Ghosting, I know, there is a solution on the forum. It says to replace the old screen with a newer model, but is this possible if the warranty is expired?Calibration is a mess! The digitizer point wobbles under the pen, this is most obvious near the screen border, where straight lines turn into curves. But it's also an issue in the middle of the screen. In some places the cursor is 2mm top left of the actual pen tip, in other places it's bottom right UNDER the pen. I tried all kinds of calibration already... Answer:TP Yoga numerous issues with screen and digitizer

I did some more testing with the maximum pressure issue. And it might be related to the pressure level of pens. As far as I know the Yoga supports 1024 levels. I have a new Wacom PL-900 and it has only 512, and the pressure problem is strongest. It is the same with the original Yoga pen, I'd say - even though this should have 1024 levels? But with an old Samsung Series 7 pen I need to press harder to reach 100% pressure - although it is still not really "hard". I'm not entirely sure how many pressure levels the Samsung Slate pen has, thought it was 510, but have seen some reviews mentioning 1024...Anyway, I posted this issue in the wacom forums.

I need to replace my touch screen glass as it is broken. Mine is 2C version of it. There are people selling universal versions of touch digitizer online saying its compatible and original with Microsoft name on the top of it. I want to know how many versions of it are there in the market and which one is MS genuine product. or Are universal one's compatible and works fine with my device ? Also where can i buy a genuine MS Touch screen digitizer for Lumia 535 online india ?

Answer:Touch screen digitizer Microsoft Lumia 535

Be wary on line. You get what you pay for. A lot of them, even if they say Microsoft on them, aren't OEM, just Chinese knock offs. Also when replacing digitizer on the 535 you can't just change it and it works. It didn't for me and I had to 'dead' flash it. A Microsoft service centre can replace it, but, for the cost if replacement, why not plump for something like the 550? At least you will then have 4G LTE device and a more up to date chipset, or the great 640, or even a Blu Win HD LTE?

Hello all, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but my searches did not turn anything up. I just received my new TPY a couple of days ago and have been happily installing software. Today was the first time I really tried using my digitizer pen, as I finally had time to open Photoshop and Illustrator. In doing so, however, I discovered pen calibration is completely messed up for the top edge of the screen. I tested it outside of the Adobe programs and the same problems occur there. I have already gone in and tried recalibrating my pen more than once using the calibration tools in the Control Panel. Is this a known issue that I just need a driver update for or is this a hardware issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Erika

Good day. I purchased a manufacturer refurbished ThinkPad X220t  with warranty for one year. The laptop came with a factory seal. When I turn on a notebook,  the operating system(win 7 Prof 64bit) automatically install. At the end of installation in device manager  all devices have been identified and worked fine.  But in computer details in the "system" was written ?No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display?. Then I installed all the drivers on a laptop from Lenovo website again and again. That did not help. Then I reinstalled windows (win 7 Prof 32bit). That did not help. Previously, I had two X200t and when I installed windows 7, the digitizer immediately was detected, for the good work of  the touchscreen it was necessary to install drivers. But the situation with the X220 for me incomprehensible. Explain what I did wrong. The type of ThinkPad printed on the back label is 4294-CTR(in BIOS the type is 4294-CTO).

Answer:X220 Tablet. Not working digitizer and touch screen. Help!

Try to install manually Multitouch Driver from Lenovo Drivers Download  You can find it here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS001408 V.

After the install, the Acer logo appears then after about 8 seconds there are a couple lines then it goes blank. Any suggestions??

Answer:Replaced my Aspire V5-573P touch screen digitizer

If you have or can get a remote display, connect it and see if you get good picture on it.You may have damaged the ribbon cable. They are pretty fragile. You might open it up where you can gently  wiggle the cable while it's on and see if it changes.

I need to replace my screen and digitzer.  My computer guy who has done screen repairs for me in the past says he can find the LCD for my U530, but he cannot located a glass digitzer for it.  Does anyone have any ideas where I can purchase one?  Will Lenova sell me one?   I can't find anywhere to order this part from their website.  Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.  Mike

Answer:Dropped Laptop, Flex-2 15, screen won't go back together/broken digitizer

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

I'm not an owner of your model, but it would appear to me if the screen is not snapping back into place there might be something misaligned or possibly a broken piece of plastic preventing it.  To correct the problem you might have to do a little disassembly to find the cause.

For your reference I have listed below links to your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual and a Lenovo Training video series.  You might find that information useful in trying to correct the problem

I have a X201 Tablet had always worked well.Yesterday suddenly the screen became completely black.I connected to the external LCD monitor and the computer works perfectly. But the internal monitor not. At least as a monitor.I can not see anything in the screen not even in backlight. But I can use the digitizer on screen... Namely if I touch the screen with the pen it makes me mouse. It seems strange because I was convinced it was a matter of cables. What can it be?Should be the illuminator? I think not, because in this case should be seen vaguely. Is that correct? Then I thought, or the display itself or cables that connect to the main board?I opened but everything seems to be ok. What is more likely is.I would like to understand it before you buy spare parts useless. How can I test which of the components is?I hope someone can help me,Thanks in advance

Hi, I used X200 for about 1 month and suddenly the LCD screen behave badly:-The screen flickers at both boot time and windows desktop environment. It is very obvious even the frequency is set to 60Hz and (which is the maximum allowed setting)-If I set the brightness to maximum by pressing the "Fn"+"Home", the screen looks less flickering. Other than the maximum brightness, the screen flickers.-The color also distored. The the whole screen looks tends to white and cool at both boot time and desktop environment.-I can see color is broken on a smooth gradient from pure white to pure black picture sample. Does anything know what is problem of this? Thanks.

Answer:X200 screen flickers and screen turned very bright

I have Portage Z20T-C-11C. According to the specifications (http://www.toshiba.eu/laptops/porteg...ge-z20t-c-11c/) the device is using Sierra Wireless EM7305 broadband module and has Assisted GPS as special feature.

The manufacturer specifications of EM7305 ( https://www.sierrawireless.com/-/med..._datasheet.pdf) confirm the GPS and Glonass satellite system support.

Unfortunately I did not find a way to enable the GPS support. Haw can I enable the GPS on my z20t-C device?

Hello fellow forum members.
Informaion on this topic is pretty rare (if not non-existent).
Please can anyone clarify if z20t-c (Skylake gen model)
is compatible with PCIe or NVMe M.2 SSDs?
There's one PDF that says in specs:
http://www.getech.co.uk/pdf/Toshiba_..._All_Specs.pdf
"Choice of 128GB M.2 SATA / 256GB M.2 SATA / 256GB M.2 PCIe / 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD's"

Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks,
Anton

Hi there,

I have an HP Elitepad 900.
The problem I seem to have is when I press the power button to turn off the screen, the screen turns off but the backlight stays on.

Any help would be appreciated :-)

There is an image attached.

Answer:Screen backlight still on when screen turned off HP Elitepad

I had the same issue, here is what you need to do to fix it. Go to the HP support site and access the Elitepad 900 downloads for Windows 8.1. Download the ElitePad 900 BIOS/Firmware/Driver Update (SP71504). Run this update - the item that will fix your issue is the Intel GMA driver included in this update.

The issue is the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" that gets installed by default. This display adapter also appears to have caused issues in other devices as well - so it isn't necessarily an HP issue. I assume there will be a standalone Windows 10 Intel GMA installer - but I wasn't able to find one to install - of course that doesn't mean it isn't out there. The 8.1 installer package above ran without issue on my device and the display issue was no longer present.

Just a note, Microsoft is having similar issues with the Surface devices. They are having users update the display driver in order to resolve the problem.

I hope you have the same results and you can finally get your screen to turn off without having to shut it down.

Hello guys,I have a problem with my recently bought notebook Lenovo Ideapad U430 touch. I have setted up that after about 1 min the screen should turn off in power save options. However, after this happens, it is impossible to turn the screen on again. I have to manually restart my pc in order to have something on screen. It looks as if everything works, only screen is still black.By what can it be caused? I really hope it will not be necessary to contact warranty service as it is only about a week old notebook and I really believed Lenovo company that it makes reliable products (not having to give them back after 2 days of usage).Thank you very much for your responses and possible solutions in advance.

My other half bought a Nokia Lumia 530, and before she'd even turned it on she tried prizing the back of with a knife (Derrrrrr) an managed to crack the screen in record time 10seconds after gettin it out the box before it was ever switchd on!!!! Iv never had 1 before but every phone iv cracked a screen on has still worked but this touchscreen isnt working at all an its only a small crack at top of screen, any ideas without replacing the screen? As it was only cheap an im guessin a new screen would probaly cost more to buy an fit than the phone did? I could live wiv the crack if only i could still use it, should this happen? An can it still be used? Help needed? Thanks

Answer:Cracked Screen Only Touchscreen Not Working?

Every touchscreen has one point where the digitizer (the touchscreen) has wires coming out of it that connects to the motherboard on the phone. If you crack it there, where the tiny little wires connect, you can completely lose touch on the digitizer. It sounds like that may be unfortunately where your screen cracked. Bing for "Lumia 530 digitizer" to see the cost of a new one.

I have an Aspire R3-131T-C3PV, Windows 10, bought 4 months ago, little used. Everything functions fine... except that recently every time the touchscreen is touched it goes black. Touching the screen again brings it right back on. The display works fine when the touchpad is used or when a mouse is used.

At a certain time, circles appear on the screen and this one is blocked.

I work with Windows 8

Is somebody had this problem and solved ?

Answer:Circle on the screen and touchscreen blocked

I don?t think that someone will be able to help you only reading this small message.

I mean you did not post enough information to make a opinion about this issue and possible reasons.

I don?t know what notebook you have, I don?t know when this issue happens and most important think is; did it appear using notebook with factory settings?

In win7 and win8.1, i could set the screen of my tablet (Lenovo Miix3) to switch off after 3 min (not sleep, just switch off the screen). Tapping the touchscreen would bring it immediately to life again.

With win10, this does not happen. I need to click the on/off button to bring up the screen. So, it seems that Win10 switches off the touchscreen electronics. This is not a hardware issue, because previous Windows versions would let me switch off the touchscreen backlight but retain its sensitivity to touch (and therefore switching on upon tapping).

What do I need to do to restore the standard behavior (tappable touchscreen after switchoff) in Win10?

Answer:touchscreen disabled when screen switches off

Bump. Am I really the only one experiencing this issue?
