slow internet loading, slow youtube response: Dell 5558

Question: slow internet loading, slow youtube response: Dell 5558

Hello, I have a Dell 5558 Inspiron. the internet is very slow to load. My wife has a macbook pro that runs circles around my PC for web browsing. I have tried various tricks to minimize startup functions and background apps. is this a hardware issue that can be upgraded? would upgrading the GPU, upgrading to SSD, or adding more RAM help?

Preferred Solution: slow internet loading, slow youtube response: Dell 5558

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Concurrent wil all this, something is resetting my trackpad settings back to default on every reboot. Solved this last summer by removing something from Logitech, but the problem is back now. Weird.

Internet MUCH slower than usual, responses sluggish on- and offline. System fans kick on within 2-3 minutes of startup. I've run all the usuals - McAfee, Ad-Aware, SpyBot, disk cleanup, and chkdsk. Hard boot after all that, then ran HijackThis:

Hello Techspot!!!!

I have had my laptop for nearly 3 years but I wouldn't deem it to be a poor performance laptop. Recently I have been getting slow internet, poor keyboard response and slow scrolling, and it is very frustrating!!! I share the BT 3 homehub with good connection speed which was checked and found fine! My housemates laptop has started having the same problem as mine and I really want to fix this issue. The internet, keyboard and scrolling speeds vary everyday but overall are slow performers. I have looked through some of the threads and have seen people posting long threads of code etc :/ Is there anyone out there who has the time and patience to help me fix this problem? It would be most appreciated!!!

Many Thanks

Dan

Greetings! I have purchased new Lenovo IdeaPad Q180. Activated the windows, installed the classics like ffdshow, AC3 filter, xvid and vlc, kmplayer and bsplayer w/o codecs. In general predecesor of this computer was small ASRock with iON 1 chipset, 550 CPU, in general about 25% of the Q180s pure power. ASRock iON 330 was playing full HD everywhere without hesitation. Whereas Lenovo IdeaPAD Q180 is: totally bad in YT movies, 720 & 1080 is totally of, it's playing like 0,01 fps, sound is totally distortedvlc player is from time to time allright, but sound is totally ofkmplayer is totally offbsplayer is totally ofI also tried wmhpc and some other players, all are the same badI've had three experience of "driver has stopped forking for AMD display driver and it has recovered" to my actual knowledge, this is mostly hardware issue. I was on RMA with the Q180 and they said that the error didn't demonstrate. Please advise what should I do? It's 400 euro, I have unfunctional PC and RMA don't want to change piece for piece either, they totally don't care whether it plays HD/FULLHD movies or not. And also, the movie is TOTALLY slow, much, much, much, much slower than ASRock Ion 330. Please help me, I'm desperate, Kind regards Bryan P.S.: HDD Full surface scan is allright, s.m.a.r.t readings are allright, ATTO benchmark readings are allright.

Answer:IdeaPad Q180 brand new vs. full HD movies [youtube, vlc, kmplayer, everywhere] + slow response

Well it appears that Lenovo Support does not want to get involved in video/gpu issues with the Q180. So we can only summise that its a flawed unit from birth. Many of us have had video/Flash issues with the Q180 and Lenovo Support have just refused to respond (speaks a thousand words). It's faulty goods so I would try for a return/refund and buy something else less gimped. Chances are a BIOS update would fix a lot of it but as it's an old unit now that seems unlikely.

Hi- I had great results here before on my desktop and now I need help with my laptop.

I'm running Vista home 32 bit and Firefox. I was reviewing Leo Laporte's Tech Guy site from his weekend shows and noticed he suggested to install Microsoft Security Essentials and run the MRT. I have been experaincing slow starts and almost nothing when starting firefox. If I clicked on a bookmark- the tab would just spin and not load anything for about 2-3 minutes. So I removed Threat Fire and installed the Mircosodt product than ran a scan. It took a few hours and the MRT found 2 infected files (both trojens) and a bunch of other files that weren't infected. I think something is wrong now so I'm looking for some help. below is the hijack this log and the mrt log.

We just bought this new laptop less than a week ago and we've been having issues with internet connectivity ever since.  The internet will randomly slow down even when the connection is shown to be full or almost full. When we have these spells it can take 45-90 seconds for a very simple webpage to load. These spells generally last from 2 minutes to an hour or so, although we had a problem for most of the day yesterday. We have Webroot antivirus, so I don't think it's a virus. We assumed it was our internet and contacted the provider who came out and replaced the router. We're still having problems with occational very slow page loading. We have Windows 8 and the computer is a Dell Inspiron 15 3521. We generally prefer Firefox. I went to the Dell website to see if any drivers needed updating, but it's not showing anything relevent. Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Answer:Brand New Dell Laptop with internet loading slow even with full bars

Hi soozabelle, The internet will randomly slow down even when the connection is shown to be full or almost full. "Randomly".... caught my attention.I am assuming you are connected by wireless. How do you have your network set up? Modem to router and connected to router wireless?Have you ever had any other computers set up via wireless before? If not, there is a strong possibility that your router is not secured and someone may be piggybacking on your connection which can, and will, slow your connection down drastically when someone "randomly" decides to take advantage of your unsecured connection. Kinda like turning on more than one faucet in your home and you lose water pressure throughout the house. That is the first thing I would look into. Check that and let us know.If that is not the problem, other members may have some advice as well, so please stay tuned! ;)Donna

Hi. How are you? I am coming here because I'm going to attempt one more time. And then I'm going to call it a lost cause.I have aDell Latitude computer running windows 7. I have Google Chrome as my default browser. It is the easiest to get around in for me, and has tools for all of these popups that are in exitance. I have a question that I doubt has any real good answers, or any answer that is going to help, but I will go ahead and waiste these next few minutes just to see what happens. I LOVE YouTube. But YouTube I think is at the end of its time with me. I now have moved to a place that has a slightly slower speed and It is using Windstream. I now have PROFOUND problems browsing youtube because it is PROFOUNDLY SLOW.

REALLL slow. I have a question. Does anybody know of something in existance that would make it faster? I've checked my computer for bugs. NONE to be found. Cleaned it up. I've got ReadyBoost Activated, and I'm using chrome. Any suggestions or tools that would allow me to browse Youtube, and do all of the functions/features involved in YouTube like the PlayList Abilities such as AutoPlay and Auto-Repeat? ANYTHING? Oh, I Defragmented it too. And deleted other programs that I wanted to delete. Still profoundly slow. Internet Explorer isn't happening. BAAAAAD IDEA. Tried it. We're talking about Taking the definition of Profoundly slow to new and dangerous levels. Thank you very much. Sorry for waisting your time, and God Bless.

Actually, I have 2 questions.

1. I am looking for information on bios settings for the Soyo P4-X400Ultra motherboard. The information can come in the form of an email or the web address of a place that tells me about bios settings for my board. I am not that experienced with the bios settings and the manual does not elibrate on which settings are best. What I would like to know is what are the best settings for my system (shown below)?

2. My second question is actually a problem that I can't seem to figure out. My system has been running well since I built it in Sept. but I have started to notice that applications are taking longer to load. I am not sure if this has been a problem from the beginning since I upgraded from a 800 Mhz and the new system being so much faster just never noticed. I can hit the shortcut to begin an application and it will begin by coming up in chunks...meaning that it loads pieces of the application over several seconds. For instance, the background shows up, then the menu, then the scroll bar, etc.

I have tried defragging, scan disk, Norton SpeedDisk all in an effort to make the HD access faster. One thing that I did notice however is that the S.M.A.R.T. parameter will not stay enabled in the bios. I can set it and when I reboot, it will revert back to disabled. Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem or not.

I would appreciate any and all responses.

Hi.
I have installed Windows 8 professional. With internet browsers (I mainly use Chrome, but I tried IE too) and metro apps I experience this issue, which is that after watching a couple of youtube clips other youtube clips that I would like to watch takes forever to load. In order to fix this issue I need to reopen browser and I am fine for a couple (3-4) clips.
I am sure that this is not my routers or ISP's fault since everything is just fine with my brothers computer.
Maybe you have any ideas on how to fix this issue? It is very annoying and I have googled endlessly and nothing helped.

Hi
I am new here, please be patient with me, am not sure what to do

okay lately, every time I visit YouTube site on Google chrome browser, after few mins it slows down load, and Google stops working, its just carries on loading but never stops or fully loads. This only happens when I go on youtube. If I just use google, it's fine.
Also when this happens no other browsers works as well: Internet explorer. and I have to reboot my computer to fix the problem every time, and it freezes on the logon page, so i have to Manually reboot it. Again this Normally doesn't happen Only when this problem occurs.
my internet is connected, no problem with that.
I cant keep rebooting my computer to fix that problem, Please help

I have ran the antivirus and nothing came up. so it might not be a malware.

This is my first time posting a question on bleeping computer. We are so thankful that you are out there to help us and not rip us off. I think my computer is infected. My desktop starts up very slowly, my internet connection is slow (it's slow in pulling up websites and some never come up). I'm getting lots of pop ups (even though pop up blocker is enabled). When I go to open the control panel, a flashlight pops up as if it is looking for it (it eventually does open but it takes a while). I had a problem at one time with a lot of POS.TMP files and followed advice from posts on this site to get rid of them. Well, my current problems started when a friend downloaded a music program. I believe it was called Soundman. When I noticed the computer acting funny, I went into the control panel and deleted it along with some other programs I found (PPC Booster, P2P Max, Ron Tool Adsoftinc, Wyzo, Eco Bar). Any help will be greatly appreciated. I recently cleaned up my "Start Up" items (this may or may not be associated with the problem I am having - may be coincidental). No viruses, Firewall at Medium security, SpySweeper in operation. 512MB RAM. XP Pro. Working on Cable Modem.

Pages are either VERY slow to load, or will not load at all. Often I must Refresh to get a desired page to show up at all. Many pages will not load at all. "We're sorry but the internet contant you selected is not currently available" message is common.

AOL loads, however slowly. IE is also slow loading the "home page". Going from either home p[age to through a link is a tedious process (including even bringing this form up).

Any ideas as to what the issue might be?

Frank

Answer:Slow Internet Response

First, have you tried powercycling your equipment (like your modem and your router)? Basically you would want to turn both off (if you have a router) and then turn back on your modem first (allowing it to remain on for about a minute) and then turning power back on to the router. Many times speed issues can be correctly by this simple process.

Also, if you have only been using IE then you might want to try clearing cookies/cache/etc if you haven't already. Go to your Tools menu at the top of your screen and go to Internet Options. Depending on the version of IE you have you could see different things like the option to "Delete All" or you might see separate buttons for "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files". Either way it is a good idea to clear both of these up.

You could try downloading a different internet browser like Mozilla Firefox from getfirefox.com just to see if it's something with the program or not also.

Also, I would run some speed tests to see the speeds you are getting. Especially it might be a good idea to run a speed test while your firewall is on and to run one after you have disabled your firewall. Speed tests are available at:
speedtest.net
speakeasy.net/speedtest

What you really need to tell us is what kind of ISP service you contract for. Also, what do you get with a wired connection to the router?

I'm sorry, I don't know the proper protocol. I have a topic posted in the forum "Internet Response Time is Very slow", and I was advised to follow the "Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log." As instructed, I have performed the following steps (numbers correspond to the Preparation Guide)3. I ran a disk cleanup. Webclient/Publisher Temp files will not clear, but the others have been cleared.4. Ad-Aware and Spybot. Ad-aware just had a couple of cookies and a couple of MRUs. Spybot said "no threats". 5. I didn't run Housecall as I didn't want to install Java. Panda: I guess I can't figure out how to run it. This is the third time I've tried, and although Task Manager applications says it's running, Processes shows system idle at 99 or so. It runs for a couple of hours but does nothing. BitDefender ran and showed no problems. I ran Kaspersky, and it shows no problems.6. McAfee Stinger detected 2 files: C/Download free keylogger described as Adware-Url.gen. I don't know what those are or if they deleted them. The instructions say put a check in the box fy "Auto Clean". but I couldn't find such a box. I looked for C/Download on my computer system and could find no such creature.7. I did not install a firewall other than Microsoft yet, as when tried it I had all sorts of problems. A different story for a different day, and I shall install one later.8. My Microsoft Windows is up to date.9. Here I am... Read more

I have an 8 year old laptop with an inter celeron chip 1.6 ghtz, 1 gb of RAM. I am currently running IE9 with Vista service pack 2 installed. Internet page loading is tardy to say the least. I also have a works laptop, again quite old, with an intel core 2 duo (1.66 ghtz)with 2 gb of RAM and this runs fine using the same BT wireless hub.
Is my 8 year old laptop just too slow?, CPU usage goes up too 100% when accessing pages but goes down to 2 - 5 % once in idle mode.I can't see anything in Task Manager that might be slowing things up
I have Microsoft Security essentials installed dual core
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Answer:vista IE9 and slow internet response

Check task manager again and see how much memory is used with the browser you're using. 1GB ram is a bit low for Vista.

My internet access (both Firefox & IE) suddenly got very slow on my Win7 computer. I held out for a couple of days hoping it was temporary. I thought it might be an msn problem because I 1st noticed it in hotmail & about the same time my Windows phone failed numerous times to download an app. I seem to remember once accessing an site that had a list of current/active msn problems; sometimes only in certain areas. Or was that Verizon?

Today I called Verizon & spent 1 1/2 hours with a tech who seemed to know even less than me (if that's possible). I became afraid that following her directions would make things even worse, so I discontinued the conversation.

Accessing hotmail.com just now gave . . .

You could test your phone line. Grab a phone and plug it into the phone jack you use for your DSL modem. Press any number to get rid of the beeeeeep so all you should hear is silence. If there are any sounds coming down the line other than almost perfect silence then you should have your line checked out.

Hi All

I'm having a bit of an issue with the computer. When browsing things just aren't very responsive and it takes time for click to take effect if you understand. In addition to this in general the computer seems a bit sluggish to respond even when just using MS word or excel.

I have seen people advised to download and run hijack this which I have done but for some reason it won't save the log file.

any suggestions?

I noticed that in IE 11 on Windows 8.1 that there was this slightly perceived typing lag when entering text in fields displayed in the browser. This lag would not be present in Chrome, Opera, and others... so that's what would make it noticeable. When you type fast, it is most noticeable, but not so bad as to obstruct typing or create errors.

However, now in Windows 10, the lag has increased. Painfully so. I find that with my typing rate, the keyboard input cannot "keep up" and I lose letters! I'd have to go back and correct works due to missing letters. I've resorted to keeping Textpad open and typing all my text there, then copy/paste into the browser fields. The different is very noticeable.

I've searched around and found a few scattered tips about dealing with this, but nothing seems to help. I have to believe there's a setting SOMEWHERE that is responsible. Or... is this a byproduct of Microsoft key logging?

Answer:Slow typing response in Internet Explorer and Edge

NOTE: I had this problem on build 10240, and still having it on 10568.589. And it's NOT a problem in other Microsoft products like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc. Chrome, Opera, and Safari do not exhibit this typing delay/response problem. It's only IE and Edge that show it.

Hello,

I have a Gateway P-6825 laptop running Windows Vista 32-bit, Service Pack 2.  The processor is T5250 1.5GHz and it has 2 GB RAM memory. I realize it's a slightly older machine and the processor is relatively slow, but it seems to have slowed down a bit in the last few months when I access Internet pages.  I am not getting any signs of malware infection but I'm wondering whether it is laden with too many programs or something else.  Any insight you can provide is truly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

I am experiencing a very frustrating scenario on my machine.
It started out of the blue. I have dial up still and I hardly ever
get on the internet. maybe only an occasional Google search.
It started during a period in which I had not been on the web for at least a week.
*When I click on a folder it stalls and then opens after a few seconds.
*Videos played off my hard drive stutter.
*Startup takes longer than usual.
*Basically, any task I try to perform is stalled.

I have performed the following actions:
ScanDisk
Checkdisk
Defrag
Ran Malwarebytes in Safe Mode and Standard
Ran Super Anti Spyware in Safe Mode and Standard
Ran Hijack This
I have checked programs running on Startup and cleaned that out.
I have 90GB of free space and 1GB of Ram.

I also have done in depth research into the DMA/PIO
possibility.
I am showing UDMA 5 for my HDD, and DMA for my CD/DVD.
It never displayed PIO at all anywhere. However, the symptoms
associated with a HDD reverting back to PIO match what I am seeing.
Is it possible to be in PIO mode, even though it displays DMA?

I am at a loss for what it could be...Please help...Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Answer:Slow response time. Videos stutter. Slow startup.

This may be irrelevant but when was the last time you changed the MB battery? I have had a lot of machine and still do, when the battery is dying funny things can happen. I sure looks like you have covered all the other bases!!

Great that I found this site!

Since two days ago I have had a strange trouble with IE 6.0: Entering data to form fields (including this message box) and scrolling pages up/down is extremely slow. Characters show approx. 2 - 5 seconds after when you have actually pressed the keys. Scrolling webpages especially ones having pictures (such as Ebay search results) is paintaking.

Typing web address on top of the screen and the connection work just fine. I have Windows ME and AntiVir 9 + Zonealarm running. I run IE's internal "repair process" but did not help here at all.

Please let me know what should I do to get rid of this trouble.

Thanks all, in advance.

My computer just recently has been running painfully slow. Boot up takes about 10 minutes while log in time has increased a little also. When I attempt to open my programs now, some wont open until 15 minutes later, after I already gave up on them; some don't even open at all. Internet explorer works but takes about a minute to load the homepage and loading times vary. Sometimes it loads quick, sometimes it seems like it has stopped responding. Sometimes explorer completely freezes and I get the "checking for solutions" message. I am really getting frustrated because I have ran all of my anti virus anti spyware, malware etc. I have pccillin antivirus, malwarebytes, ad-aware, and spybot search and destroy, all of which say my comp has 0 problems. Itunes seems to be extremely bad in loading because i can try for 30 min and not get it to load even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I also have cleaned out the comp using ccleaner and have defragmented. I am running low on options and don't know whats wrong this time. Please help!

You may have some hardware problems.*** Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic28744.html)Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, unfortunately, you're out of luck, because Toshiba doesn't provide any diagnostic tool.*** A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.NOTE Keep in mind, the manual check listed above is always superior to the software check, listed below. sorry, if this not the right place please move. I did many google searches cant seem to find the issue Im having, or maybe lack of the right key searches. You guys are my last hope.
I will try to explain my problem as clearly as I can. And so sorry about my bad grammar and spelling, trying to post this asap.

first off give small history of my PC. I bought my PC new Sept 2001. A HP Pavilion with 1.3 ghz, 256ram, and a 55gig hard-drive originally came with WinMe, since then I upgraded to XP. I kept my PC case clean, didn't try to install programs my PC couldn't handle, didn't go to any sites that knew were bad with viruses and such also had Malwareytes/spybot/avast/hijackthis to use, didnt install any toolbars, and tried not to have many programs open at the same time. I basically kept my PC simple with use.

Anyways around June I noticed some odd slowdowns
While playing Winamp and running a torrent with speeds of more than 400+ the audio would become choppy. This also happen when I would open FF, IE or any program while running Winamp, the audio would be choppy.

Extracting 700mb files from Winrar would take around 8mins

Playing Youtube, WMP, of VLC videos would be slow and choppy.

Transferring files from one PC to another over a crossover cable would take much longer. 4gigs of files would take about 20mins or so.

Virus scanners, Avast, Malwarebytes, and Spybot would also take much longer than usual.

So, about 2 weeks ago while my brother was on Youtube my... Read more

Erm hi. Last night my PC was absolutely fine, and today it seems to be completely broken.

I turned the computer on today and received a "malware detected" message from Avast antivirus. I tried to move to chest/delete and the message kept popping up. I looked up NewDot malware on the internet (which is what Avast was detecting) and it said that NewDot prevents access to the internet, which seemed about right as i was having to use my laptop to access the internet as the time, because the other computer wasn't working properly. It said that i could get rid of it easily my going to Add/remove programs and uninstalling it, which i did.

After this i restarted the computer and the loading time was exceptionally slow, i thought it had frozen, but it was just taking 5-10minutes to load. When it finally did load i tried to access the internet through a number of different browsers, but none of them would load. I tried to open some other applications too, and they wouldn't load either. I went to msconfig and disabled the majority of my startup items, and then restarted the computer. Once again the loading time was slow, and no applications would start. I then tried to do a defrag, but the program didn't work. Then i tried system restore, and the application didn't load, i came back to the computer 5-10minutes later and it had loaded, but it came up with an error that said something along the lines of "system restore is unable to protect your computer, please restar... I don't know if there's an edit option on this site, but i couldnt find it.

Anyway, i've found a website dedicated to this newdot "foistware" as it is known: http://www.cexx.org/newnet.htm

It says that deleting the .dll will result in a broken internet connection. IT also mentions that sometimes uninstalling it will still leave errors in winsock.
This seems to be what has happened to me, so i'm going to try the LSP fix utility available for download on that site. The problem is that this laptop has no floppy disk drive, and i don't have a UBS storage device available.

I was just wondering, if and when i do repair the LSP problems, could that be what is causing my system to run slowly? I hope so.

Thanks again.

I have run Adaware, A2 anti malware and Spybot and cleaned all that I found as far as malware, spyware, etc. but to no avail. The lights almost constantly shows my hard drive is working. Any help would be appreciated. Below is my HJT log:

Okay, here I am again. I've already posted regarding this problem, but I thought I had it fixed when I restored my computer to factory settings. No such luck, the problem has returned. This time I will be more specific about what is going on. I can not access any microsoft web pages, I can not update, I can't access my hotmail account, can't use messenger (kids are going crazy without it). I have had norton installed and ran a scan, no problems detected. Now i uninstalled it. Please let me know what to do now. I personally think it has something to do with Messenger not being compatible with Vista, so for now I've uninstalled Messenger also. What are some good free virus and spyware programs that I can run? Here is my current Hijack log.

hi, guys
I have a laptop Inspiron M5040 , resonantly downloaded windows 10 , installed solid state drive, running avast anti virus /free malwarebyes and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploi, always check for windows updates,

when I surf from site to site the web pages seem to take some time to load, they will load after some time, but this is starting to bother me,

I have a older acer laptop in the same house, also resonantly down loaded windows 10 to it, and installed a solid state drive, also running advast anti virus /free malwarebyes and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploi, also check for windows updates, this acer loads web sites very fast,

what do you guys think, I should check first , to speed up the dell laptop,

thanks guys for your time,
bluesfloyd,

Answer:dell laptop loading slow

Hi, first note your laptop is not tested and approved for Win 10 by Dell:
http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN297954

See e.g.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...0-babc871b2aa3

(More if you search for
Inspiron M5040 "Windows 10"
)

You may find you have to use older drivers than provided by MS, but that will be trial and error.
If you do so, you will need to prevent them from being replaced by MS (see the Tutorial section for how).

There are extensive threads on slow boot issues here- just search the forum for
slow boot
- a topic much discussed last year.

Note that even if a laptop appears to run a later OS in normal mode it may have heat management issues e.g. in Safe Mode or when booting from a boot disk due to incompatible low level drivers. (I did with my HP G60).

Or you may be lucky.

Check your SSD is configured to use AHCI not IDE
FYI:
Solved Attn. SSD owners - Enabling AHCI mode AFTER Windows 10 installation. - Windows 10 Forums

And at a simpler level, please post a screenshot of your task manager, organised by processes using most CPU/Disk/Ram when your PC is idle and when your browser is running with a couple of tabs open - whatever shows anything of interest.

I own a Dell inspiron 15 series 5000 laptop. From the day I bouht it a lot of querky things happen. Now frequently it takes a very long time to load web pages and when on a page it sometimes freezes up an sometimes when scrolling it takes a few seconds to move the scroll bar. It is very jerky when it tries to move. The small loading circle icon stops and starts a lot and it takes a longtime to load anything. I have a intel(R) core(TM) i7-6500 [email protected] 8.00GB RAM 64bit . It is using Windows 10 Home and is a touch screen. I ususally my mouse. Could someone please help me?

My ISP is Videotron (I live in Quebec), and I have a D-LINK DIR-615 Wireless N. My internet connection is just over 10 megabits per second, averaging a download speed of 1150 kilobytes per second, which remains unchanged, (multiple speed tests, downloads and torrents).

About a month ago, when watching videos on YouTube, they started streaming at extremely low speeds, making videos that used to finished streaming in seconds completely unwatchable.

I have restarted my router, modem, Anti-Virus (with firewall - Kaspersky Internet Security 2010) and computer several times and it didn't help. The only thing that did help was plugging my computer directly into the modem, which returned the speeds to normal.

However, I have 3 friends, all of which have Videotron, but not D-LINK routers, experiencing the same problem. Videotron does not throttle, and I have not changed computers, routers, modems, operating systems, virus protection software or internet browser since long before the problem began.

Please help, I feel like I have a dial-up connection.

I recently recovered my PC after getting that data hijack virus (The one that ransoms a code to restore all your pictures/videos, etc for a price)

My internet still works on this PC, but it's running slightly slower than usual, basically like windows Explorer (lol).
But mainly videos via youtube constantly receive the "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more." message.

It can SOMETIMES be bypassed if I set the video's settings to the lowest and refresh, to which the video will play.

I know this is not my internet, since my other PC and laptop are running off the same internet, and not running into the same problem.

So any tips?

Thank you for taking the time to read my request.

I purchased an HP entertainment laptop (windows vista os) about a year ago and I started experiencing problems with my speed a couple of months ago.

Most recently, I've experienced the following:

1. Slower speed surfing the net
2. Slow to open up an Internet Window (about 8 seconds)
3. Can not browse internet at the same time that an anti virus program is turned on (to monitor). Has occured with Norton and Trend Micro.
4. Can no longer access I-Tunes store or Rhapsody store when I open the applications.
5. You Tube videos are stop and go instead of running fluidly.

All of this is new behavior for my laptop...

Any ideas on what may be happening or what I should try to do next? I downloaded hijackthis, so I have that software program on my computer.

If anyone is willing to help, I would greatly appreciate it! Please let me know if you need additional information.

Many thanks in advance!

I was using IE 8 on my laptop. The problem is it is slow loading and I hit the X to close it takes a few minutes to close. I installed IE 9 and have the same issue. I tried using Firefox and Google chrome and they work fine. I just prefer IE so please do not suggest other browsers because it does not fix the problem. I want the ie problem fixed.ThanksJust because the OP does not come back in 3 or 4 days to reply, does not mean he will not come back and reply.

Hi,

I recently bought a the 5558, roughly six or eight weeks ago; I have been very disappointed with the performance since day one. I do not use it often at the moment, and only for browsing and Office.

I've tried all the 'tips' that I found through Google searches, plus Advanced Systemcare 8 to defrag and optimise, plus the Dell System Detect (No issues).
Programs often take a long time to load, if at all, especially Chrome. Downloads are painfully slow (e.g. 15 minutes for a 70kb .doc file) despite speedcheck showing a 4.9MBps rate. Chrome and Firefox both frequently stall and a popup offers me to 'kill' or 'wait' for the page. Also when opening file explorer, it can take fully 5 minutes to 'find' anything - even in near-empty folders.
Any other ideas? Has anyone else had any similar issues?
The laptop did come preloaded with Windows 10 and I double checked the minimum requirements, there really shouldn't be any issues.

Thanks for any replies

I've had my computer for about 3 years, a Dell Dimension 4700,Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3. Lately it's been running a lot slower than it used to. I can't seem to figure out what's causing my computer to be slow. My fan inside my tower has been louder and my tower has been making louder noises. When opening "My Computer" it takes about 2 minute to load, and Microsoft Word freezes more often now.

Answer:Slow internet loading?

Have you verified that your Internet connection is set up properly in Windows 7? If a Red X there is a problem.

Did you check device manager to make sure there are no yellow question
marks flagged?

Did you check your router and modem to see if all lights are lit properly?
A defective modem will not show a light on the cable light.

Have you installed any recent software that may be causing the problem?

If this problem started immediately when you bought the computer then the problem is updating your new computer with the router software, or network connection problem, or bad modem. (assuming the problem was immediate upon using your new computer.

Hello I have an internet problem

I am using an adapter for my desktop to connect to my 2wire router wirelessly. Internet was great for a few months but recently it just became slow. Torrent downloads were really fast but browsing and everything else were very slow. Other computers at home seemed to be working fine so I just re-installed windows 7 again. It was fast again for a couple of days but it became slow again. I tested the wireless adapter to my other laptop and worked perfectly fine however it didn't on my desktop. So I thought it was just a virus and reinstalled windows 7 today again. Now internet is still slow even accessing the wireless router control page is slow. Right now i am clueless on what to do know and It would be awesome if someone helped me.

Ever since I loaded Windows 10 my internet is running slow and I continuously receive either a "recover webpage" message or "stop script" message.  I am on IE 11.  I tried the new Microsoft Edge but it seemed to run slower than IE.  Does any kind of update need to be done to my wireless router.  It is a Netgear N750 model #WNDR4300  Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there

If anybody could help I would be really grateful. I have recently downloaded a new HOSTS file from the TSF. Since then, where the ads should be it is showing "internet explorer could not connect" and some pages will not load at all. Also IE is extremely slow. I have just upgraded my modem and gone wireless, my laptop is now like lightning but my PC is as I said extremely slow even after the upgrades (the speed problem was evident before I upgraded so I know it is not that).

The other change I have made is uninstalling my Comodo Firewall and AVG free and AVG anti spyware as I had the opportunity through my internet banking to download the McAfee Internet Suite FREE for 12 months. I also uninstalled Spycatcher Express and Spyware Blaster as I thought I had too many anti spyware programs running which may have caused conflict which may be causing the slow down. I still run Spybot S & D, use cleanup and ccleaner on a regular basis.

I have two questions:

Would it be easier to revert back to my original HOSTS file, if so how do I do that?

Have I unleased a couple of trojans/ that I had in the past held in quarantine in the programs I deleted?

Here is my Hijack This log for you to have a look at.

Hello guys, for the past few days Internet Explorer's loading time has dramaically slowed. It used to take a couple of seconds to load the program. Now it takes over 15 seconds. Once it loads there is no slow down in my ability to surf the net and no other programs seem tio be affected. I have almost 80% of my hard drive free so its not a memory problem. Could it be syware? I've just run Spybot, Ad Aware and Webroot's Spysweeper but nothing has been found.

Answer:Slow loading Internet Explorer?

Click here to download HJTsetup.exe: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTSetup.exe
Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

In recent weeks, I have had an approximately 15 second delay in opening new windows in Internet Explorer windows. In my Googling for answers, I have seen that a fair number of people have reported the same thing in the past month.

On one bulletin board, it was suggested that the new Java update 6 might be to blame; the timing makes sense since I installed it December 1. I uninstalled it, and sure enough, my IE was back to its speedy self. I reinstalled it, and the 15 delay returned. So it seems to be true.

The question is, why? And can anything be done to fix it?

Answer:Slow loading Internet Explorer

Hi straleno

Welcome to TSG!

The latest Java installs a BHO (Browser Helper Object). Removing the BHO helps in most cases.

Do you have the latest Java installed now?

Someone please help!!!! My computer will not load internet pages, or if it does it is very slow. I'm surprised I was able to get to this site. I have run norton internet security, windows defender, superantispyware, and vundofix, which have all come back with no problems showing. I have cleaned everything up and got rid of many of my media files and have run a disk defrag and still the same problem. Registry mechanic will not work for some reason. I don't know much about computers, and I am getting really frustrated. This is a brand new computer, I've only had for about a month!!! I am using Window Vista. I had just changed my dsl modem and upgraded my linksys wireless router and noticed my desktop page loading was super slow. I have two computers on this wireless network and my laptop was operating normally. I tried everything and the only thing I seen that had changed was when I went to the WirelessNetwork Connections Properties and went to "The connection uses the following items" and noticed Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) version 6 and also a (TCP/IP) and the check box was checked. I deleted the version 6 and everything went back to normal.

I have Windows 7 and my internet has been moving extremely slow for sometime now. I tried to free up space on my c:drive to help speed up when I use the computer. The pages still freeze up and talk forever to load. Also I believe I have that ad-virus. Where I choose a page and then automatically another link appears however it will not load thanks to pop up blocker. Also when I would restart my computer the c:drive went from 800mb to like 320mb something was eating the space. So far it stopped doing that after scanning with malware anti-malware. I just want my computer to have the fast internet speed as before and to keep it from freezing or taking forever to load a page.

Hello: Here are specs. on my computer;HP pavilion 513W, Intel Celleron - 1.8 GH,
HD- 80GB, Free space- 49.5 GB, Running Processes - 57, RAM- 512 MB.
Start ups checked, -32. Running XP Home, version 2002, S/P2
Here is my problem: On startup the Windows welcome screen comes up, and after
45 seconds the background picture comes up. Then the desktop items fill in as folders
and files, then they start changing to icons, one....at.....a....time.so the entire process
to populate the desktop takes about 2 minutes, from the time the Windows welcome
screen comes up! Also the internet takes a long time to load, whether using IE, Firefox,
or Chrome, though Chrome loads slightly faster that the other 2.
I have Cleaned up the HD, recycle bin, tempfiles, and Defragged it. I have unclicked
all but the necessary Startup files, and run it in Selective Startup configuration, but still
the problem remains....Attached is a Hijackthis printout in case you need it. Any help will be appreciated..Thanks in advance.

A couple of days ago i noticed "Internet Explorer", "My Computer" and "My Documents" were all taking 2 or 3 minutes to display after i double click the icon on my desktop.
I've checked out a few posts on various sites and all suggest that it is something that has infected my machine that is causing it.
If someone could take a look at my logfile and give me some clue or guidance as to how to fix the problem it would be much apprciated.

Hi everybody hope you can help out a bit.
When trying to browse on the internet some of the sites i visit a really taking an age to load up, these are sites i use on a regular basis.
When the internet loads up i have google as my home page and it loads very quickley and finds the things i am looking for very fast but when i click on one of the sites that it finds then it takes ages for it to load up.When i click on sites from my favourites it also takes a long time to load and sometimes freezes for a few minutes including this site as it is my favourites.
I have run ATF-Cleaner , Cwshredder , spybot , AVG anti spyware and AVG antivirus and they all came back clean nothing to report.
This has been happening for about 2 months now and is really getting on my nerves.
I have spoken to my internet provider and they say the connection is fine and speeds good.
What happens is the site banner / name comes up very quickley but the rest of the site is slow or freezes and when on the site the different pages take ages to load.
I am using internet explorer and i have tried firefox but the same happens when using that so i think it is a pc problem at my end.
I hope this makes some kind of sence to some one.

Thanks Gaz

I am running windows XP pro on a new PC (2.8GHz 512MB RAM) attached to the internet via LAN to a router and firewall and ADSL connection. When I first staretd using it it was lightnening fast compared to my old PC. Now, a month later, it takes between 5 and 10 seconds to load internet explorer before I start browsing the web. Any ideas what can have happened?I have set IE6 to load a blank page on startup, so it is definitely a problem local to my machine. It is just as slow loading it as the first program I open after booting up, as when I try to open it later after several hours PC use. I do not save history - I regularly clean up my cookies and temp files. I run Adaware regularly too. I have tried deleting all the favourites I created - had no effect. I have increased the virtual memory to 500MB - no effect. Any ideas whay it shoudl have slowed and what I could do?Thanks

i have windows xp operating system on a dell inspiron laptop--in november all internet page loading became very slow--it was a sudden change and has continued--it occurs whether at home or my office and so appears to be an issue with my computer rather than whatever provider i am using--initially i thought it must be a virus since the change was sudden rather than gradual but i have run numerous virus and malware scans--no virus or trojan or similar thing has been found and malware/adware has been minimal--i read an earlier post about this issue which is how i found this site but the most common thing causing this seems to be a virus which again i cant find. i would be so appreciative for any ideas onwhat could be wrong or what i can try--alsoi have the same issue no matter what browser i use, whether google chrome, internet exporer firefox

Answer:Computer loading internet very slow

Hello, my name is Pizza and Pepsi and I will be trying to help you solve your problem.
Besides the internet, is anything else slow?

Try to run these scanners:
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (aka MBAM): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes'
Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
Post the log back here.

So I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and Malwarebytes for virus/malware/adware/etc. detection and removal. According to both of these programs I don't have any viruses/malware/root-kits. So I am wondering why my Internet Explorer and Chrome become very slow after the pc has been on for four hours or more. The actual pc isn't slow, just the internet loading. If I reset the pc the internet runs quick again like it should. Should I reformat my hard drives or try something else? Below are my pc specs.

I have 5 other computers on this network and mine is the only one with a problem. Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.
Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)
If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.
Finally, please reply using the button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.

For some odd reason, in the past 4 weeks, my streaming video has become VERY slow, and I do not know why. I have a high-speed cable connection, the same I have had for the past 6 months. It is slow, sound-with-stil-images and/or constantly rebuffering, and this is true with WIndows Media, Winamp, Realplayer and even Flash videos (on YouTube for example). I cannot take it anymore. What should I do first? Would a hi-jack log be helpful? I am running one now to paste onto this email.

Hello, Tech Guy Forums!

I've got a Compaq Presario 2410 laptop running Windows XP Home Ed. (SP2) that's seen a gradual decline in performance over the past several months. Boot-up time has increased to about 5 minutes now, applications load very slowly, even alt-tabbing between two windows can take me on the order of 15 seconds. I've been running Lavasoft's Adaware compulsively, but I'm concerned that it's missing something that's causing the slowdown. I am not seeing an popup windows, but the processor seems to be working quite hard even when no programs are open.

Also, I've had a Windows Update yellow shield popping up regularly for awhile now, which is trying to install Office XP Service Pack 3, but it gets halfway through and asks for the Office XP CD, which I misplaced during my last move across the country. Office works fine (except for the overall slowdown). I have no idea if the update I can't get and the slowdown are related.

I've attached a Hijackthis log in the hope that someone here might be able to help me locate the source of my problems. I'm not literate enough to interpret everything in the log, but I do know better than to start deleting system files willy-nilly. Any help given is thoroughly appreciated!

- Tom

Another problem is when I'm viewing a page my computer usage jumps to 100%. i can not view multiple pages like i used to be. i have defraged, removed files i do not need. practically cleaned my system out. I have read to many forums and post and my brain is starting to bug out. Does anyone know anything that i am lacking? also its not my internet connection because my roommates comps work fine. any ideas would be deeply appreciated or should i just get a new comp?. My wife's computer is having an issue with Internet Explorer loading extremely slow. Problem started about a week ago with IE6. I have since installed FireFox and it works fine. I am still trying to get Internet explorer to work. I now have upgraded to IE7 and still same problem. Any time a new browser window or tab is opened it take 5+ minutes to connect. Once connected other pages will load fine. Anybody have experience with this and now how to fix it.

Hi, I'm on a Windows XP Home, Toshiba Laptop, SP2, and yesterday I downloaded a file that was, unknown to me, loaded with trojans....I used SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes to remove them, and those scans now come clean....However, now my internet pages, no matter what browser I'm using, load REALLY slow, for example to get this page to load took about 2-3 minutes, where as before it would be pretty much instant, as you can imagine this is very frustrating....I have ran CCleaner as well, and right now am running Auslogics Disk Defrag, but nothing is helping, any suggestions would be great, thanx....

Hi all.

Wondered if anyone could assist:

Although my Internet connection seems fine, and I`ve contacted my ISP, who are confirming that it is fine, I am having trouble loading pages. For instance, when I click on a link, etc, the page either doesn`t load at all, and I have to refresh, or the page starts to load, but stops halfway through, and I have to refresh again, to make if load fully.

I have this problem with various sites, and also various browsers, as I use Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera. It is the same with all of them.

I have done various virus scans, ad-ware scans, and malware scans, and nothing is coming up.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For info., here is the HJT Log:

Hello. for the last week or so my computer has been running slow everytime the internet loads. The computer never used to run slow when the internet was loading. And it even runs fine every once and a while. Some examples are.-When I browse web pages I usly look at more then one thing. I use firefox, so what I do is while one page is loading I open up another tab and look at that site. But recently when the other page is loading the computer runs slow.-Is used to be able to watch gamespot videos. What would happen before is.... It would load 25% of the video then play that 25% while the other 75% is loading, and the video would run smooth and fine. But now I can only watch the video once it is 100% loaded, because once it has 100% loaded the video then the internet isn't really being used.-When playing cames at teagames.com the games run slow because the game is constantly loading. It has been doing that for over a week now but I was playing it 2 days ago and it was running fine, but most of the time it is really slow.It has been doing this for about a week now. I have run four diffrent virus scanners (AVG, Trend Micro, KasperSky, stinger virus scanner) and I have no viruses. I have run spyware programs (Spybot, Pest Patrol, Spyware doctor, Ad-Aware) and I have no spyware. I have also run programs like CCleaner, ewido, tuneup utilites 1 click maintenance, and diskkeeper. After running everything the computer still runs slow when loading stuff off the internet. Why has my compu... Read more

Answer:Computer runs slow when internet is loading

Well, I hope you don't have multiple anti-virus programs running at the same time.  That could slow down your system. Is the computer performing as it should when not online?  I'm wondering whether the problem is actually your Internet connection.  Have you ever ran any Internet speed tests?  I suggest visiting www.dslreports.com and running a speed test and tweaks test.  If you create a user account and are logged on when you run the tests, you can save the results and then see your results compared to others.  You may have issues you need to discuss with your ISP.

I am getting the Windows 10 upgrade soon and I want to make sure my system is running as smooth as possible before hand. In the past week or so, opening chrome, and other programs has really been bogged down. I feel that just in the last week or so I have become possibly infected with something that is slowing my system down. I'd like to clean up unused or unnecessary programs but need help. I am running MalWare bytes protection and pay the yearly fee as it's great. I am also using 360 total security for the last year and has worked well. Please let me know if you can help me. Thanks!

This is a rather odd...I just recently (by recently, I mean less than a week ago) completely wiped my HD and reinstalled windows. I got everything all set up again and reinstalled the connection software from my ISP (AT&T Dialup).

The first time I used it, everything worked fine. However, when I connect to the internet (either through the ATT program or through the windows connection) programs will load VERY slowly. But here is the strange part - if I have task manager open, I can see the process load up, but then the actual application will not load. After a few minutes, anything I opened during the first little while will all open at once. Odd...?

So I decided to do a little experiment. I would end one process at a time and saw if anything changed. If it didn't, I would re-open it. I found out that if I closed the process called "svchost.eve", the programs would all load. However, the svchost would re-load itself and when it did, there would be no user name associated with it in the Task Manager. Any program I opened after that also had no user name.

Anybody ever hear of this or have any suggestions?

Hello BC,
I have a funny but serious malware problem. When watching Jersey Shore full episodes, usually the ads played in the player- But then on one of the episodes, when the video player went to advertisement, an advertisement "popped up" blackening the whole screen. I thought this was unusual since the ads usually had been playing embedded within the player. I (mistakenly) clicked the "X" to get out of it. Following this, an ad began to play within the player per usual.

After the embedded advertisement began to play, I immediately got malware on my computer. My bottom-left icons began to change, and my antivirus appeared hijacked because a message appearing from avast popped up alerting me that I had been infected with a "worm". I knew immediately that I had been infected with something, and that the message was originating from the 'worm'.

I immediately shut down my computer and restarted in safemode. I attempted to perform an avast virus scan and windows defender scan-nothing. I then restored my computer back to a restore point created a few days prior using the System Restore function. I then started up in safe mode and attempted to Uninstall the Firefox browser from which I had acquired the virus. Firefox would not uninstall itself from Add or Remove Programs so later on I manually deleted (most?) of the firefox files.

Now none of the virus scans performed online or downloaded have detected a thing. Advanced System Car... Read more

My McAfee subscription expired and I have now loaded AVG Anti-Spyware and ZoneAlarm. Since then my PC has been a bit temperamental (sometimes slow to load web pages or not loading them at all). Could you advise if there are any problems. From time to time the PC will crash altogether and I have to switch the power off/on to get it re-started. I have recently de-fragged as well, but no real improvement in performance.
Around the same time I was trying to download IE7 and it kept failing. The Window help suggested de-activating all Firewalls (I also have SpySweeper) but it still did not complete IE7 download. I have not bothered trying anymore but wondered if something hasd got through while I had no Firewall.

I have posted aHiJack This scan in the relevant forum and Old Timer suggested posted the questin with yourselves as he was not able to see anything wrong.

I hope you can help.

Answer:Slow Running/internet Pages Not Loading

Hi there,

I use AVG and Zonealarm too, but don't experience what you are. Having said that that there could be glitched between the two that are preventing you from accessing the web.

In the meantime I would personally get hold of the latest updates for AVG, ZoneAlarm and any other spyware/adaware program, disconnect from the internet (unplug your modem/router) uninstall your current defences (AVG, ZoneAlarm etc), then add your firewall (ZoneAlarm) following the on-screen instructions then add your spyware/adware/anti-virus software and do a full system scan.

Forget about IE7, stick to IE6 (reinstall that too).

Hope that helps

The problem started after I finished printing a PDF file. A blue screen came up with the following: VSP 1284D.sys - address EDF 50F97 base at EDF49000, date stamp 37a32048. Something similar happened before and was related to my Xerox printer drivers. I've uninstalled my drivers and haven't reinstalled them as the problem lessened but still persists.Normal data download rate from the net is usually 70 to 100 KB/sec. Now it's 4 to 8 KB/sec.I've done the following, in safe mode, but with little success: system restore, CCleaner, registryfix, spybot search and destroy, Ad-Aware, Avast, a-squared, also the PC hard drive and registry were defragged recently.I did get the following info after running Avast: logmessenger.dll and USB SIS 163\wlan_163_r105.zip - Installer archive is corrupted......unable to scanPC system details:Dell 170L, CPU: Intel P4, 2.8 GHzOS: Windows XP 2002 PRO SP2Explorer version: 6.0.2900.2180Internet connection: DSLFirewall and security software: Zonealarm, Avast, a-squared anti dialer, ComodoBelow is the HJT result.....Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 12:54:46 PM, on 15/10/2007Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.ex... Answer:Pc Apps, Internet And Ie Graphics Slow Loading

Hi Paul,Welcome to Bleeping Computer. Sorry for the delay, this forum is really swamped right now.I don't see any signs of malware in your log. This does not mean for sure that your computer is clean, but it does mean that we need to keep other possibilities in mind. You have done some but not all the steps suggested in this pinned topic; I suggest you read through it and do the rest. After performing the checks suggested there, if your problem is not resolved, we can run a couple of scans to rule out rootkits and other nasties that may not show themselves in HijackThis.Let me know how it goes, and if you have any questions, just ask.Dave
