Preferred Solution: Device Manager (yellow triangle)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Device Manager (yellow triangle)

All the drivers you need for windows 10 can be found here on the support page for your computer. Select windows 10 if it is not already, and download all the drivers that correspond to the hardware inside your laptop. The chip set and video drivers should be installed first.

Dell Vostro 1400, Core2Duo. Installed Windows 7 64 bit a year and a half ago. For those not familiar, the Vostro is not entirely compatible with 64 bit, so the drivers are a little hit and miss.

Computer runs slow sometimes, has since the install. I don't think I've ever seen the yellow triangles before, but I may have never looked at the device manager ... the computer is a secondary machine in the house.

My question is, do these indicate a performance problem or can I ignore them and assume the computer is working as best it can?

Answer:Base system device, core processors yellow triangle in device manager

please check out this webpage. it may help you to get started: Device Manager - yellow exclamation point

The yellow icons showing an exclamation point can indicate missing or improper drivers. The system does not seem to recognizing your hardware. Hope this gets you started.

Have you checked at HP for a bios update, seems this machine has a history of defects, one is bios fixable that may solve your problem, you will have to put in your serial number to find the right one, whether it is intel or amd.......

Hey there justcurious,

Can you confirm the version of the WiDi Driver you have by chance? This may need to be udpated. I've noticed some issues around the USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller across the forums and I wonder if they are related. Thank you!

Please open Device Manager, and then post a screenshot of the Properties for the device with the triangle. I would also suggest ensuring that your audio/sound card is connected properly, or if it's a onboard sound card then it may even be broken.

How old is your computer?

Update your System Specifications with Speccy, and then copy this information into your System Specifications: Go to your UserCP, and then select Edit System Spec in the left pane. Copy the information from Speccy into the required fields. These System Specifications will then follow your every post.

I would strongly suggest installing some form of ant-virus protection on your computer.

Install and perform full scans with:Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download
Microsoft Security Essentials | Protect against viruses, spyware, and other malware

Remember to install the free version of Malwarebytes not the free trail; untick the free trial box during installation. MSE is the most lightweight and compatible with the Windows 7 operating system

Answer:Yellow Triangle Not Going/Some time yellow triangle goes but then also not working

we do no provide remote support on the P Chere

using xirrus see what sort of signal you are getting around the house
if the strength is -70 or lower (note negative number) then that would be why you have a connection issue as the signalis not strong enough in those areas
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

I'm having a persistent issue with my USB and Network controller drivers on my Dell XPS 8700

Dell support site keeps recommending the same drivers even after i install them.

I still have yellow triangles next to them in device manager. When i click to UPDATE the driver in Device manager it can't find them or it just hangs.

When i plug in my ipHone the AutoPlay does not recognize the iphone at all. AutoPlay in control panel doesn't even list iPhone as a device.

I'm wondering if the Dell web site is outdated? Should i be going to the Intel site to get my drivers for my Motherboard?

Any advice welcomed.

What doesn't work? Do you have a modem that is not installed? If so, and you don't use it, it doesn't matter.

How about sound? Do you have a high-definition audio controller? Working

I have a feeling that this is simply a case of some registry settings which need adding/modifying/deleting but exactly which ones and what values I do not know.
I suspect that the registry settings affected are under the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

The machine is a Dell Optiplex GX260. The device is a Hitachi-LG Data Storage CD-ROM, Model GCR-8481B. The OS is Windows XP SP1.

No, I haven't tried re-installing XP.

Thanks in hopeful anticipation.

PCI Universal Serial Bus

Where can I find info/drivers to properly reinstall these?
Also, perhaps one or more of these is preventing me from seeing the other computer in Network Neighborhood.

what does the yellow ! in the triangle mean when its right next to the cdrom in the device manager on a xp pro operating system

Answer:? yellow ! in device manager

That means Windows did not pick it up. Did the CD-ROM come with a drivers disk? If so, see if you can reinstall or update the driver. If not remove it, restart, and see if XP will pick it up. There is a possibility that you CD ROM drive is not compatible. Click here for more info at Microsoft's site.http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q295322

Hello fellas, new guy here. I own a Lenovo z50-75 laptop FX-7500, R7-M260DX running on Windows 10. The problem I get when I safe boot in device manager is the one showing in the attached image. Also, when I restart my laptop, I get the window showed in the other image, and my screen flashes black for about 10 seconds and then its all fine until the next time I restart it. In addition to that, today when it happened all usb ports and the ethernet port were not working at all, until I restarted for another time. Device manager says all drivers are up to date, and I havent found anything regarding this issue in Lenovo's support website. Thanks in advance for your help.

i got a yellow triangle ! next to my cdrom in the device manager and i wanna know what it means

Answer:what is the yellow ! next to the cdrom in the device manager

Unfortunately it means that device is not working properly. I know that's not particularly helpful, but there can be various reason, ranging from very minor to fairly serious for that exclamation mark. First try removing the device. Highlight the cdrom, click on remove, click on OK when it asks if you really want to remove it. Restart the computer and let it find and install your cdrom. Make note of any error messages that come up. Maybe that'll fix it.

Answer:t61 yellow devices in device manager

I would recommend to download Lenovo System Update that should fix most of the missing drivers. If you still have any missing drivers after updating the driver with system update you could post again, but i'm sure the list should be shorter then. You can find system update here:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/tvsu-update.html(version 3.14 is for XP) Optionally you can download and install each driver manually from here:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do(select you system and you should be given a list of drivers for your computer. Since you didn't specify the type/model of your T61 i couldn't give you the correct direct link) - "biometric coprocessor" is the fingerprint software- "network controller" might be the wireless adapter- "pci memory controller" should be fixed with the chipset drivers i think- "unknown device" need the hardware ID found in device manager to say what this is- pci device could be the Intel AMT driver or modem drivers....not 100% sure -gan

Hello,:wave

I had a virus enter my system and affect my C:\Window\System 32\Drivers\... While my antivirus grabbed them and moved them to the vault it seemed that the damage was done. I've made sure my system is clean, however, I'm having various problems. I lost my internet connection and while I've managed to get that back I still have alot of yellow circles with exclamation marks next to the list under network adapters, only one went away after I uninstalled the rest will not unistall. I also lost my stand by option for turning off the comp. it's grayed out along with all of my options in the sounds and audio devices properties. There are many yellow circles with exclamation points in the device manager and I'm not sure what to do.

The biggest problem however is that I've lost all sound. I made sure it wasn't muted, checked speakers along with headphones, when I go to its properties everything is grayed out, I also went to the device manager uninstalled everything under sound, video and game controllers then did the add new hardware wizard. Most of the yellow marks went away, but still no sound. I went to the Windows Audio Service and made sure it was set to Automatic and Start was checked. Now, I'm at a loss!:confused

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. I have Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2 and am attaching my Everest report.

Answer:Yellow marks in device manager

All your original drivers are at this link:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGCRA820G

Start with the motherboard (chipset) drivers.
You probably should uninstall your Realtek audio, through Add/Remove Programs, then try reinstalling it.
Any other missing drivers, won't need to be uninstalled.
I will not be back 'til later tomorrow, so if you have any other problems, just be a little patient.

I may be posting in the wrong place! I am not sure if I need this or not, I have DSL on my computer, everything runs fine.(well most of the time) When I was in my Device Manager I saw a yellow ? by other componets, which is my ethernet controller. From what I have read here, it seem's I should have it. It shows that it is not working and when I go to upgrade or repair, it can't do it. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 2.00GHz 1.50 GB ram. My video card is NVIDIA GeForce 4 T:4200 with AGP8X, Net work card-Nvidia nForce MCP networking adapter. Network adapters 1394 Net Adopter. IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers Nvidia NForce MCP2 IDE controller primary IDE channel and secondary IDE channel. IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers : OHCI compliant, IEEE 1394 host controller. Those all show working fine. It is just the ethernet one that I can not figure out what to do with. Is this just needed for networking or is it really needed on the computer? Should I delete it if not needed ? How do I go about fixing this "the simplist way possible", as I am not computer savvy. Thank you for any time and help with this. I

Do you have an idea about this message and if is it to reinstall any drive ,what kind of and the relative link to download?
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite L30-10Y: Win XP - yellow ? near bus controller in device manager

Hi

Hmm? I?m not quite sure if this entry could be related to a Chipset driver.
But you can find out the chipset driver yourself.
Install an hardware diagnostic tool like Everest Home Edit and check the hardware components. Then you would be able to download the chipset driver from chipset manufacturer page.

But in your case I recommend deleting this entry from device manager firstly.
Mark this bus controller and press delete or ?uninstall?.
Then reboot the unit.

Usually the Win XP should recognize and reinstall the device again

Hello,

For the longest time now, there has been a yellow exclamation point next to one of my network adapters in Device Manger. It is the Intel PRO /100 VE Network Connection - MWL Filter Miniport. When I double click on it, it says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." So I click Reinstall Driver, choose the "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" option, click next, and then I get a window that says "Cannot Install this Hardware...A service installation section in this INF is invalid." How do I fix this? Thanks.

"PCI Simple Communications Controller"
"SM Bus Controller"
(driver unknown, no date, no version, not digitally signed under properties on all (4) drivers) When I try to update the drivers, (all 4) items get the same results. XP Hardware Update Wizard says: "Cannot Install this Hardware"

Morning all, how are we? ? ?

Yesterday i had to format my computer and reload windows back on.

Done everything pretty successfully but there seems to be 2 things in Device Manager that have Yellow Question marks beside them -

* Mutlimedia Controller
* Multimedia Video Controller

I havent a clue where to get these from, i have a Dell Dimension 2400 PC, tried the driver disk but doesnt seem to install any drivers to get rid of these, have tried various drivers from dell's official site, and also tried a benchmarking software to see if it would tell me the type of files/drivers that i need, but again, no joy there.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

Thanks.

Hi all, First thing to say is that I am a beginner with computers so please keep it simple.I have something called a "PCI Simple communications controller" which has a yellow Question mark next to it. I have searched all over the web for info about this and most folk say that it relates to a modem. That is not correct in my case.In my case it refers to a small USB device about the same size as a small pen drive. This device has sockets for the two plugs on the end of a headset for speaker and mic. I can't find a driver for it anywhere but unless I can get it working properly my Speech Recognition software won't work and there are no other sockets for the headset.I should maybe add that the sound for System sounds or when listening to music etc works fine either with the headphones or via the PC speakers. There is also an exclamation mark next to my "C-Media AC97 audio device" but the 2 may be related. The system is running XP Pro with 1gb RAM.Any help would be very much appreciated.Cheers,Steve

I reinstalled windows xp, and most things seem to be working fine. However, I have lost internet connection, along with a few other things. The yellow exclamation marks in the device manager are against, in order,: camera (I can reinstall that, not a priority), ethernet controller (high priority, obviously), multimedia audio controller, PCI input device, USB controller (twice), and Video controller (VGA compatible). These are all under "other devices" I have tried the disks which came with the computer (drivers and utilities), but it apparently did not find the drivers on the disk(?). There is no category such as network adapter. I unistalled all of these, but on restarting the computer, all of them are back with yellow exclamation mark.
Additionally, on starting the computer, I get a screen with MS WIndows 98 startup menu, and am given the option of booting from the Windows 98 CD (which I do not have) or the hard disk. Why windows 98? It was never installed on this computer. Selecting hard disk takes me to XP screen. My two drives (DVD and CDRW) also have the letters F and G, instead of usual D and E

In the setup screen (F2 when the computer starts), network interface controller is on, others are either on or auto

Grateful for your help. The wireless modem is working fine for the other computers that I have. If needed, I can reinstall Windows, since I have not installed most programmes yet, but would obviously prefer not to do so especially if I do not know if t... Read more

I recently purchased a Sapphire ATi HD3850 video card, and ever since then my pc keeps telling me that it has detected new hardware right when getting into windows. I've deleted the old drivers of my old video card and installed the newest Catalyst drivers for this card. The card runs great, but the found new hardware pop up in the beginning is really annoying.

If I run the wizard, I check the little box that says to not run this wizard again. Once I close the wizard, it pops right back up again. I click cancel then it says that there may be a problem or whatever then it disappears. But once I restart, the found new hardware wizard pops back up again.

Also in my device properties, there's two PCI Devices that have a yellow exclamation mark. Is this related to the found new hardware wizard? How would I fix the exclamations?

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the card? Also, do you have the old card disabled or removed?

Answer:Sound issue in WXP - one yellow ! in device manager on Equium

Hi David

I?ve checked your other postings created here in the forum and it seems you are a owner of Equium A100-027 PSAAQE series.
Am I right??

First of all I would like to clarify some things.
Mostly the yellow exclamation marks appear in the device manager because something could went wrong during the driver installation procedure or you used simply a wrong drivers.

I think you should firstly find out if you used right drivers!
Please go to the Toshiba driver page and check again the driver versions and download it again.
I?ve noticed that many users download the wrong drivers and try to install it.

On the Toshiba page you will find also the installation instruction. There are 2 txt files available.
One for XP and one for Vista.

Please be sure that you use the right installation instruction for the right OS.
Then download all drivers and follow the installation order mentioned in the txt file!

Usually everything should run ok and you should be able to install all drivers!

Best regards

All of these have the yellow exclamation point, and none of my usb ports work.

I've searched google but couldn't find anything relevant, and I searched on thsi forum, looked through a few pages of results but wasn't gonna be here all night sifting through threads.

Sorry if this question has been asked many times already, but my relatives are starting to get on my case about them not being to use the printer or webcam or their digital cams.

The error codes you get are common when the device driver is not installed correctly or cannot initiate.

It would help to know what the exact hardware configuration is that you are attempting.

The Asus P5K-Deluxe motherboard has 2 LAN controllers. Are you trying to get them both to work?

Or are you adding a second PCI card to the machine? If so, what is the brand and model number?

Alrighty, here's the scoop. I bought an eMachines w3400 desktop for X-Mas. Unfortunately, the system does not come with any backups of the operating system or drivers preinstalled upon arrival. Instead, they instruct the user to use CD-Rs to back up the contents of the machine when it is first booted.

Um, no. I didn't do that. Instead, I formatted the entire machine because third-party useless software is junk. And, I upgraded the OS from XP Home to XP Pro.

Answer:Yellow Exclamation Point for USB Controller in Device Manager : Help?

You need to find the mobo's current USB driver set. Almost unbelievable that they sell yo a computer with no dirvers. Sheesh! I would contact eMachines website and/or call their tech support. In the future, you may want to consider building your own PC. The over the counter computer always sucks no matter who the manufacturer is. Emachines, Dell, Gateway, HP....all pretty much are crap.

Hello.I did a fresh clean install of Windows 10 in an Envy 17 notebook. After rebooting a couple of times, but before installing any drivers, I found that the Device Manager did not present any yellow question marks, as it use to do present in my past installations. Looks like Win 10 recognize all my hardware, apparently even the Nvidia control panel is installed. Why is that? This means I don't have to install the drivers I download from the HP site before deleting the previous Win 10 installation? Thank you.

I just bought a new R61i 7650-DHU notebook.  I've spent past few days configuring it with software and all runs well.....wired Internet and Wireless.  I noticed in my device manager there is a Broadcom Wired and Intel Wireless Adapter and a device called TVT Packet Filter Miniport.  By this item is YELLOW exclamation point....which I think is warning.  I did some searching online and not much there about it or in this forum.....since my network connections DO work.  I tried to disable or uninstall and the system won't let me...perhaps good ?  I'm not sure what this device does...the Driver under Properties shows Version 6.0.4063.0.  I looked at the download sites and using SystemUpdater and there is updates for the Broadcom and Intel adapters but nothing for this device. What is it ?....what does it do ?  Why the YELLOW !...how can I fix ?....or if there are newer drivers to install...how/where to get ? Thanks !

I'm in the last mile here. I've made everything else work by reading other posts but here goes: I needed to put WinXP back on the ThinkPad T40 because we have a MiFi 2200 card that will not work on my Ubuntu 9.10 install.  I've got both OSes working fine (!) and I can use hardwire to get on the 'net. But wireless is another story.  I know it works because it works under Linux.  I've tried the driver you all have suggested - this one:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-59438 And I went to the WLLANINT folder and ran setup. I rebooted, but I don't have wireless. Also, under Device Manager, I still have 3 yellow ??: Network ControllerPCI ModemUnknown device. Any assistance will be met by tremendous gratitude.  Thank you guys. 50GreenDodgePhoenix, AZ

It was suggested that my CD/DVD-rom has been infected by virus. There is a yellow exclamation mark shown against the CD-rom. I would like to re-install my laptop (Equuim) by re-running the Toshiba Product Recovery. Is it possible with the CD/DVD-rom not working? Please advise.

Answer:Can I run product recovery with a yellow mark shown on Device Manager?

Optical disc drive is maybe not running under Vista or other preinstalled operating system but it has nothing to do with ?general? functionality.
Yes, you can do it. When you start your notebook press F12, put the recovery media into optical disc drive, choose CD/DVD drive in the list and press the ENTER button. When recovery procedure starts just follow the menu on the screen.

*Recovery procedure will delete all data from the HDD. So if you have some important data saved on the HDD please do the backup before you start recovery procedure.*

Under Infrared Devices I have a yellow exclamation mark by "Serial Cable using IrDA Protocol."This is a HP laptop computer with Windows XP Media Center Edition.  I'm hooked up to my wireless home network which just includes my desktop computer and this laptop.    I am trying to partition and format a new Seagate SATA hard drive using a USB hard drive adapter and cannot get the hard drive recoginzed but I think that is another forum question.  When I try to troubleshoot and install a better driver in order to remove the exclamation mark a message indicates there is nothing wrong with this device (what particular device they are mentioning I do not know).  The message indicates there is not a better driver.  Yet the exclamation mark remains.  I do have an external floppy drive I use plugged in through a USB connector sometime but not now.  What other infrared device the message is referring I have no idea.  Frank C.

Hi

I just get the new Satellite A100-411 but I want to downgrade the preinstalled windows Vista to Windows XP Pro.
After the installation of Win XP I get no sound and the WXP "driver manager" is showing "other devices" - Ethernet controller - modem device on high definition audio bus-and "mass memory controller" with a yellow (!).

The drivers that I tried from the Toshiba home page didn't solve the problem.
Sorry for my bad English I hope you can help me with my problem.

Answer:Satellite A100-411: yellow (!) mark in device manager after XP installation

Hi Sebastian

It?s funny? it seems you are the first person who wants to DOWNgrade the OS and not update the notebook to Vista.

Anyway, at this time I would prefer to use XP.
It seems you have installed the drivers in the wrong order or some drivers are missing:
Very important is the Intel Chipset V7.2.1.1006

Ethernet controller -> Lan or/and WLan driver
In my knowledge this unit supports this LAN card: Intel 10/100(Ekron)/GbE(Vidaria/Tekoa) Wired and you would need the LAN driver version 9.3.29

You will also need and sound driver. I think you have to install the Realtek audio driver with UAA bus driver V5.10.0.5253.

Hi

What is with Intel wireless card? Is this card installed properly? As far as I know you need to install Intel Wireless LAN Card Driver V.1.1.6.0.

Check it!

Hi I have recently bought an Ideapad Z580, but the DVD drive is missing.  It is showing in Device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives as TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208AB, but it has yellow exclamation mark over it. As directed on the Lenovo support pages I uninstalled it and restarted the computer, but I still see the same in Device Manager.   I have right-clicked on TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208AB and Properties show the device status as "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". Can anyone help resolve this? THanks

Hi,

Recently I formatted C: and installed XP professional. But after the installation, there were several problems.

First, in device manager, there are big yellow marks in SM BUS Controller, Video Controller (VGA Compatible).

How can I fix these?

Second, when I scroll down screen side bar to read or see some contents down in a certain site, my screen is so sensitive and waves simultaneously with moving or clicking of the scroll bar. Is it related with above devices?

My notebook is Toshiba Satellite A60-S1591ST, XP pro with SP2

I don't know how to recognize the model of motherboard

thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite A60-S1591ST: yellow exclamation marks in the device manager

Hi

The problem can be solved very fast? the yellow exclamation appears in the device manager because you didn?t install the necessary drivers.

So you will now ask for the driver page ;) Am I right?

Well this is a Toshiba US notebook? I think so ;)
Check this page:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

Choose the Satellite A60-S1591ST and you should get all needed drivers.

I cannot use Vista as most of my applications don't work. Returned to XP Pro OK and added drivers for Audio, Ethernet, Video OK - only have 3 yellow items in Device Manager now - Mass Storage Device, N/W controller (tho it works OK) and SM bus controller. Any ideas on resolving these?

Biggest prob is using FN keys especially for display switching (F5) as I use a projector a lot. Could use FN+F5 to switch to ext video but it won't switch back until reboot. Following advice on this Forum installed drivers for Control, Control drivers and Hotkey Utility. This made it worse - can't even switch to ext display. Deinstalled Control and Hotkey via Control Panel but cannot deinstall Control Drivers - still cannot switch displays.

a) how can I remove Control Drivers so at least I get some functionality (without reinstalling XP)
b) what's the real fix for this problem?

There seems no way to ask Toshiba for help directly (or at least I can't find it on their rather tortuous website!!)

Someone, somewhere must know what I can do!!

Answer:Satellite A200-1A9 (PSAE0): 3 yellow items in device manager in Win XP

Hi

Did you download and used all the available XP drivers from the Toshiba European driver page?
On this page you will be able to find all necessary XP drivers and the installation instruction.
Please check the installation instruction document!

Did you also install Intel chipset utility available on the Toshiba driver site?
Please do it!

Bye

Hi all,

I have a Satellite Pro A120-145 running Win Xp Pro fully patched and up to date, I have a yellow exlamation mark against "serial" in non plug and play in device manager (when i click show hidden devices).

Could anyone tell me which driver is needed for this? I don't want to use the recovery disc as I have done a custom install to get rid of excess baggage which is included on the disc.

thanks in advance.

Answer:Satellite Pro A120-145: yellow exlamation mark in the device manager

I used the forum ?advanced search? and found this Toshiba document posted in some of the forum threads.
Please read this:
How to identify a unknown device in the device manager?
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB57014E000QR01.htm

Then you could visit the Toshiba driver page and could download the necessary driver for the unknown device.

Lenovo Download pages are impressive but useless. There are loads of individual drivers for different chipsets for one model M83. I downloaded the lot and tried installing the lot and PCI serial etc errors still appear in Device ManagerDoes anyone know where I can obtain a proper driver installation CD for my Lenovo M83 ThinkCentre?Motherboard manufacturers in China produce a far better solution to driver installation by letting users download the complete driver installation CDIBM have lost the plotPlease, has anyone got a proper driver installation CD for the Lenovo M83?

Answer:M83 Yellow Exclamations in Device Manager after installing Chipset Drivers

Referencing your particular model number will help identify which drivers you require on the download page.

Once you download the driver file and double click the .exe file, the driver is not installed, only unpacked and placed within the c:\drivers folder. This is standard behavior for Lenovo driver files. Either return to the driver folder and individually install each file, or from the Device Manager update drivers by directing to that driver folder.

You might want to give Thinkvantage System Update a try, (HERE) it will automatically search for and load necessary drivers.

Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
Unkown
Multimedia audio controller.

I havetried to install drivers with NO sucess.
Tried loads still o joy,

Am I missing something.
Can any one help

Answer:Tecra M2: XP device manager shows 4 yellow exclamation marks

Hi,

I will try to identify the devices without plug & play id but I don't garantee nothing.
If something is wrong please post the PnP-Ids (device manager -> properties of the devices -> details -> hardware ids).

Ethernet Controller is Intel Pro 100/VE or Intel Pro 1000/MT (both were build in into M2) network adapter
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/updates/lan/lan-xp-8790.zip or http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/lan-20070912134727.zip

Network Controller is Intel Pro Wireless 2200GB or 2100 (same as above, both were build in in most cases. Others too like Atheros and Cisco but not so often)
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/13000/eng/11.5.0.0_xDrivers.zip or http://downloadmirror.intel.com/11918/eng/Intel(R)PROWireless21_125836.zip

Unknown device is Infrared
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/Tecra/tm2/xp/irda-tm2-xp-5125000.zip

Multimedia audio controller is SoundMax Sound
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/Tecra/tm2/xp/sound-tm2-xp-512015160.zip

Please allow me two questions:
Why don't you use the recovery media. It's much more easier?
Did you try to install any driver from Toshiba's driver page? http://computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
