Websites do not load randomly

Question: Websites do not load randomly

This site can?t be reached
techguy.org?s DNS address could not be found.

This is the kind of message I get randomly while trying to access various sites like Facebook, Google, etc. Sometimes refreshing one or more times helps, sometimes I just have to try later. I'm not experiencing any issues while playing games on the net or using other online programs.

I'm using Windows 10 and Opera.

Preferred Solution: Websites do not load randomly

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It doesn't matter what website I go to, I will sometimes get changes in my font sizes at random times (there are times when it stays normal size too on the same sites). It seems to occur the most when I'm browsing on Newegg's site (it looks like my DPI is increasing, but I never changed it).

So does anyone have any idea of what I can do to stop the increase in Font (DPI) size?

Answer:Font sizes change randomly when I load websites.

You're not accidently holding ctrl and scrolling are you? This changes the font on websites.
I doubt that you are, but just a question!

Okay, well I recently discovered I could not load any website from both Firefox and IE except for sites like .edu I believe and protected sites. For some odd reason, these websites will not load yet it still says it is connected. Also, I believe there is no problem with my Internet provider because I am currently typig this from my iPod Touch which is connected to the wireless router. I need help soon. Please and thank you.

Our users have IE 7 and 8. We keep them locked into place by pointing IE to our firewall product (tools > internet options > connections > lan settings), so that only approved sites are the ones that our people can access. In the last few days, several of them report issues with specific websites loading very slowly - load times of over an hour just to get the log-in screen to appear.Troubleshooting Steps:1.) Unchecked the "use proxy server for your LAN" under the IE menus---> Site resolves instantly, as it should---> This pointed me to the direction that perhaps the site wasn't configured for our firewall2.) Re-checked the "use proxy server" box, and specifically configured the site in our firewall---> Site continues to resolve slowly, with the same load times as before performing step 1That would normally indicate that the problem is on the vendor's end. Something may be wrong with their site. And that's the line of thought I was pursuing until I was reported back to that the users are having the same problem on other websites. These new websites they're having problems with are, and have been for a long time, configured properly in the firewall.I'm not sure what my next step is to pursue. What am I looking for now? I don't know enough about networking to figure out where to track next.

Answer:Users are unable to load websites - no error, just 1-hour+ load times for pages

I use firefox as my browser. Lately some websites either won't load or take in upwards of 20 minutes. My virus scanner keeps catching virus's. I have run my virus scanner(CA VIRUS SCANNER), ad-aware, spybot, spysubtract, and superantispyware, they all cuaght something the first run through but now come up clean. i then browsed the forums here and found a similar post. I tried some of the suggestions there, which were to repair my network connection in the control panel, and to set firefox's network connection to autodetect, these seem to have helped but some sites are still slow particularly pogo games(my wife)pogo.com loads up fine it's the popup game windows that have the problem. thanks for any help.

Answer:Certain websites wont load, or they take very long to load.

It appears that you have already posted a hijackthis log here. Please be patient while waiting for assistance. HJT Helpers are all volunteers regardless where you post a log. While waiting for a response, you should not ask for help elsewhere or make changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc.) Any modifications you make on your own can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, following advice outside of that post may cause confusion for the HJT Helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. If you had posted your log here, similar rules would apply. We would ask that you be patient while awaiting a reply and refrain from asking for help elsewhere. If you followed any other advice already, please ensure you inform the HJT Team Helper when they respond to assist you with your log. This will help them know what has been done and they probably will ask for an updated log.To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. If you still need assistance after your log has been reviewed and you have been cleared, please start a new topic. If you have any questions, please PM me or another moderator. Thanks for your cooperation.

Some websites, for example:
http://www.colonialfirstate.com.au/ and
http://postbillpay.com.au

do not load in my newly installed IE7.

The error message says:

This program cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.
Retype the address.
Go back to the previous page.
More information

But the same websites load OK in Firefox.

I have fiddled around with the security settings etc., but still no joy.

I did not have such a problem with IE6.

I also use Maxthon Browser from time to time. But since that is based on IE engine, even that will not show some websites.

Can somebody suggest a solution?

The only Firewall that I use is WinPatrol. I clean up Malware once in a while with AdAware SE.

Answer:Websites Will Not Load in IE, But Will Load in Firefox

Hello, This is not an answer to your question, I just wanted to say that 'WinPatrol' is not a firewall.

I am running vista Business. Kasperski 12.0.0.374 as my anti-virus. on a Toshiba laptop that is a few years old. Kasperski started complaining about Heur:Trojan.Win32.Generic in c:\windows\system32\drivers\tdx.sys which it was unable to disinfect. at some point after this i noted that webpages would randomly go to places i did not direct them to "some sort of proxy or redirect" I attempted to run MalwareBytes and it didn't seem to detect anything. Before reading the instructions for this forum i ran a copy of Combofix, hopefully that will not screw up the process. attached is both dds logs and gmer logThank you in advance for any help you can give. Hi Shreddy and welcome to TSF!

Get comfortable, my friend......

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new resto... Read more

I have been experiencing this problem for a long time, with multiple computers and different installations of windows.

After my computer has been on for a few days, i will suddenly find myself unable to access any web pages. Programs like MIRC, skype and steam function perfectly, as do online games. I just get a generic "cannot connect to server" error when attempting to access websites and i cannot ping any websites such as google.com (it instantly timeouts).

Doing ipconfig /release, /flushdns and /renew fixes it for a few minutes before i lose the ability to access websites again.

Disabling/renewing the network adapter does nothing and windows troubleshooter can find nothing wrong.

The only semi-permanent solution i have found is to restart my computer, but the problem will occur again in a few days.

Using openDNS servers makes no difference. Neither does switching between ethernet cable and wireless. This problem is not browser dependant. Restarting the router only fixes it for a few minutes before i becoe unable to use access websites again.

Does anyone know what is causing the problem and how to fix it permanently?

The last week or so I've had a problem accessing livejournal.com and greatestjournal.com Both are blogging type sites with similar coding and I've had trouble accessing the site. One moment I can access just fine and a few hours later it won't load for me at all. I use Firefox and have tested and gotten the same problem in IE.

I've had my friends check when I can't load it and it works fine for them. If I use a proxy site to try and access it such as Anonymouse.org I can usually access it just fine so I don't know what's wrong. Tonight I've had a few problems with other sites taking longer to load or needing a few refreshes to get loading properly so could this be an ISP problem or something like spyware/virus?

I telephoned my ISP and they don't seem to think it's a problem on there end. This has only happened recently in the last few weeks and it's usually up and down as to if the pages will load. I've tried clearing my cookies/cache and rebooting but that hasn't helped.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance if someone looks at this and can help.

Hi, I've been having difficulties browsing sites lately. At 1st my computer would restart randomly by itself, and it always restarts twice in a row, I told my friends about it and they recommended me to download Malwarebytes, update it and scan it in safe mode, so I downloaded Malwarebytes, then I noticed that I can not open malwarebytes in normal mode, so I restarted my PC in safe mode, this time malwarebytes worked, so I opened it and tried to update it, but then I got a beep sound from my computer and an error popped out, so I clicked OK and started the scan without updating malwarebytes. It detected 11files and deleted them all, I thought I was in the safe zone so I switched back to normal mode. Then I updated my Kaspersky internet security, while I was browsing I noticed the redirecting issue, I've had it for couple weeks but I never took it seriously, because it redirects sites randomly. Sometimes my browser(firefox) would work fine, sometimes it would have redirecting issues, I don't really know how to describe it, it comes and go, and sites such as youtube and this site would never give me redirect problem. While I was searching for the solution to my redirect problem my kaspersky detected a rootkit "MEM:Rootkit.win32.TDSS.d" in my system, and asked me to disinfect the files, so I did that, after that the computer rebooted itself. Malwarebytes is now working in normal mode, so I updated it. Eventhough my computer does not restart by itself that m... Read more

Hello, mahboobani
Welcome to TSF

My name is Billy O'Neal and I will be helping you. (Billy or Bill is fine, if you like.)
Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.

Right i'm hoping someone can help shine some light on my issue.

The basics, Firefox (and IE) randomly stop loading websites after a certain period while on my laptop. When i first use it all websites load fine and it works normally but just randomly it stops loading them and it hangs on "waiting for <insert website name here> to respond. The same thing happens with Internet Explorer when Firefox stops and there are no error messages appearing. Now my internet connection is fine, as other programs which use it e.g. MSN Messenger work without any problems so i'm wondering why my browsers stop working all of a sudden.

Just of note, my subscription to Norton 360 ran out a few days back so i've installed AVG and ZoneAlarm instead as i cannot afford to renew Norton, no viruses, spyware etc has been found by either of these programs and i've had no problem regarding them.

Hope someone can help as its frustrating constantly having to restart my laptop just to get access to websites.

Hi guys. Hope you can help with this cause I'm very lost at the moment.

The problem I'm experiencing is that I cannot enter this site:

Hello all,

This problem I am having is different from the Red X problem.
The issue is as follows:

When I visit a webpage that links to images from any imagehosting site, such as tinypic, imageshack, photobucket etc, the image will either display as a red X or as a logo from the relevant imagehosting site that reads "This image was not found on our server" or somesuch.
However, the images display just fine for others, and I can see all images that I have posted fine all the time (if I can connect to the hoster to upload in the first place, which also not always works)

The problem that I believe is linked to this, is that upon entering an address into the address bar of any webbrowser (IE and FF), I sometimes get randomly rerouted to another page. Say I enter www.majorgeeks.com/Something, I would get rerouted to a page such as www.bbc.co.uk/Something or www.microsoft.com/Something. This persists for several hours or until I reset my router.

Now, this may sound like an issue with the router, but it is not because other computers on the network are not experiencing it. Also, after I reformatted a while ago, that problem disappeared completely and everything worked just fine. Then I had my hard drive replaced and reformatted and installed all the same updates and patches, but this time around I have the problem again.

I am not sure what kind of other information would be useful for someone to help me find what is causing this issue, but here is what I kn... Read more

Chances are you're having the same issue that I was. The fix is really a lot simpler than it seems.

START > RUN > type 'CMD' without the quotes > hit ENTER
"ms-dos" window will come up

type in ipconfig /release and then hit enter
your ip's will release
type ipconfig /renew and hit enter again

should work for you now

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

this is 1.7 mozilla and XP SP2.

Answer:Mozilla randomly quits when opening certain websites.

Is this Mozilla or Firefox? They are not the same thing.
Mozilla is currently on version 1.7.13

Firefox is on version 1.5.0.3

Mozilla 1.7.13 seems to work fine on that website.

Recently I've noticed that theres constantly at least one, but often multiple instances of iexplore.exe running under SYSTEM. Whenever I try to end these processes, they reopen within a few seconds. Periodically, an Internet Explorer window will open a random webpage (I've specifically noticed it opening dragon naturally speaking pages). Also, not sure if it's related, but my wave sound level keeps being muted randomly, regardless of if I'm listening to music or not.

I'm currently running Windows XP SP3 and IE8. I'm using Avast Internet Security as my antivirus, and am running the protection module from MBAM as well, which constantly blocks access to 94.75.229.139. I've run full scans with MBAM, Rogue Remover, CWShredder, Spybot, Avast (boot time scan), Panda Cloud, ESET Online (which turned up several trojans, though I believe these were false positives and their removal did not remedy the issue), and cleaned my temporary files with ccleaner, yet most of those programs turned up nothing at all, and the problem continues. My system also randomly reboots and a message shows up upon login saying that the system has recovered from a serious error, though I am unsure if that is related to the other problem.

I'd appreciate any help I can get on finding and fixing whatever is causing this.

Thanks!

I seem to be having a problem with certain websites loading. Many websites (Download.com, Slashdot.org, Facebook, to name a few) wont load at all. I have noticed that when they stop loading my browser (IE7) is displaying Waiting for (Insert Web Page Here) next to the load bar. My computer (IBM Laptop running XP SP2) was recently infected with some spyware/viruses i removed with Spyware doctor (With Anti-Virus). My problem seemed to have occured after I had removed the infections and I'm beginning to think mabye something was left behind or altered during the process.

So far I have Cleared all my internet cache files and cookies and whatnot, reset all the settings for IE7, disabled all firewalls (Have none but the windows one) and antivirus/spyware programs. I have also updated everything (Flash, Java, ect.) I can think of.

So please Help me this problem is driving me crazy.

For over the past month I have two websites that I know of that will not load. Both of the sites are active and other people on other computers can access them. The sites were working for me previously. I have tried to load them on IE, Firefox & Chrome so I am not sure that it is the these services specifically but some data, download or update to my computer that is blocking the sites. I am usuaully using Windows XP.

I have trouble shooted with the HP folks two different times and nothing we tried worked. I also troubleshooted with other tech forum folks who were friendly and nice but nothing they suggested has worked yet. This seems to be a mystery diagnosis. Anyone with any insight to this type of problem please reply. Diva_Girl

Answer:Certain Websites Do Not Load??

If those websites are working with other browser then something is blocking it from your IE, try checking the add-ons, security software like antivirus program, optimize your browser like delete the cookies, temp files, history and restore to default the security settings and default settings.

Yesterday, the computer froze up while an employee was searching the web. She said it wouldn't do anything (ctrl-alt-del, start button, shutdown, nothing...). She unplugged the PC to get it to turn off and when she powered it back on the computer would boot but it slowed everything to a crawl. When I got to work I noticed 2 little harddrive icons in the lower right and if you hovered over them it said "The data in volume is being verified & repaired." We have a raid 1 configuration on this system so I thought maybe one of the drives had failed. I let it run for about 4 hours and it never finished, so I hard reset it by holding in the power button and booted it into safe mode. The Intel Storage Matrix finished verifying the harddrives (it only took about an hour an half in safe mode) and it said everything was fine. The computer also ran like normal in safe mode, but when I booted it back up in normal mode after about 10 seconds everything slowed to a crawl and then froze even though it wasn't verifying the harddrives anymore. So I followed the steps in "READ & RUN ME FIRST". That seems to have fixed the slowness but now some websites won't load at all or very slowly, others run just fine. If I try to go to www.google.com the browser doesn't do anything at all. If I try to load www.majorgeeks.com it loads but it takes a few minutes to load the page. I started having a problem yesterday on all of my computers (desktop and two laptops). Some websites, such as Google, Yahoo, and Facebook, will load but almost everything else will not load. I'll get the "Problem loading page" message in any browser (Firefox, IE, Chrome). Luckily, I am able to access a few computer help forums like this one and found people with similar problems. As had been recommended in those threads I tried downloading various programs for removing adware/spyware/viruses and cleaning the registry. I tried Adwcleaner, MalwareBytes, SuperAntiSpyware, CCleaner, and my AVG antivirus. A few threats showed up on each, but none of them appeared to be serious threats, and removing them did nothing to solve the problem. If this is relevant, all of my computers run some form of windows (Vista, 7, and 8). I just had my modem replaced a few months ago, and I don't know how that would stop only certain websites from functioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My anti virus is Norton and it comes back OK with full system scan.

Hi there,

I came across this forum simply by searching google and finding another thread where someone had a similar problem (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=136340). Anyway, certain websites simply won't load on my computer - this includes Facebook, the "sell" pages of ebay, windows updates and aol.co.uk.

I only recently set up new broadband after moving house, from TalkTalk. Although my computer is c. 6 years old, on my old broadband before moving all sites worked fine. When I set TalkTalk up, attempted installation of their anti-virus software made my computer cycle on restart (restarting again every time the desktop appeared). It wouldn't even start on Safe Mode, and in the end the only thing I could do was System Recovery. After this, installing broadband went fine, and I didn't attempt to use their anti-virus software again. However, the websites listed above have never worked on my connection, although otherwise the connection is fine. I have checked the following:

Checked Java is up to date
Tried disabling all firewall and antivirus software - still wouldn't load
Tried using different browsers (IE and Firefox)
Restarting modem, restarting computer etc.
Cleared cache, cookies etc

I then went through all the basic maintenance tasks on this forum, before following the malware guide on the thread listed above. I have attached my logs for Counterspy, Runkeys, Shownew and HijackThis. However, I couldn't get Bi... Read more

There are two websites in our computer lab that will not load. I have tried several different browsers, turned off firewalls, scanned for viruses and spyware and emptying temp files, etc. I can ping the addresses, but when I do a traceroute they time out from the 5th hop forward. We can visit any other website, it is just these two sites. The server in the lab is running Windows 2003 Standard Edition, and there are three routers. There twenty computers in the lab all using Windows XP. We could use some help, since the one website is ours (www.campbellfordcrc.ca) and the other is a website that the public uses constantly for job searches (www.ospreycareers.com).

The only spyware that was found was one called AutomatedSurf. However, the antispyware program did remove it.

My problem started with trying to ftp files to my website server. I could upload .html files but not the .jpg ones. I used two different ftp programs.
I tried using my server control panel option only to discover I couldn't load the page. I can't load either of my websites: www.ethicaldogbreeding.com or www.ironwoodkennel.com Yet, I can surf all other sites on the net.

I rebooted, cleared my history, cookies, temp files... I ran Avast antivirus program.
Suspected perhaps firewall issue. Windows firewall is Off. Turned off Avast. Nothing. Complete uninstall of Avast. Nothing.
Bare bones one program at a time and nothing.

Contacted the host server tech support. Weren't able to help.

Friends can load the sites. And I can even load the sites only if I use the proxy site atunnel.com
It's a problem definately on my end.

I contacted my isp to see if my IP address was blocked. No answer. It's been 2 days and I'm totally frustrated.
Do any of you have any ideas of what I may be able to try?

Thank you for your time,
Janet

For about 2 months now, my computer will enter a phase where sometimes it will work and sometimes it refuses to load any website, will then work properly, and will then refuse to load websites again. The problem persists for several days, sometimes beyond a week, then disappears for a while before coming back

I've tried using different browsers, updating my browsers, fixing the browser settings as each one suggests, updating Windows, and restarting the computer. The last time this happened, updating Windows fixed it. Now it's returned.

This is the error message I get when it refuses to load a site on Google Chrome:

This webpage is not available

The connection to ***whatever website URL I'm on*** was interrupted.

Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Options > Under the Hood > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN"... Hi everyone,

I've the issue stated in the title. Some websites load and others time out. I've been googling for two days trying all sorts of solutions but none of it helped. Before I just wipe and reinstall Windows I want to try this as a last resort, partly because I'm not even convinced it's actually in the computer itself. Here's what I know so far:

- The problem started at an indefinate time: it's the computer of my parents and they can't tell me more than "it suddenly stopped!"
- The pages that aren't loading don't share any commons grounds: they're news pages, forums, secured websites, a bit of everything.
- Some pages load slowly instead of not at all.
- The computer runs on Windows 7 Home edition and is up to date.
- The computer is wired to a switch which leads into a router, which connects to the modem.
- The problem occurs with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox.
- The problem is not affecting any other computers on the same network.
- I can ping some of the "unreachable" websites just fine. Typing in their IP address does not load the page.

I've tried the following things that didn't work:

- Deleting temporary internet files and resetting safety settings to normal.
- Disabling the firewall
- Clearing the DNS cache
- Giving the computer a static IP address
- Changing the DNS server manually (to that of google: 8.8.8.8)
- Uninstalling and reinstalling browsers and related applications like Flash and Java.
- Disabling all startup... Read more

Answer:Some websites don't load

Do the pages that dont load on that computer, load on other devices? It could be server error, or it could be your ISP, somehow throttling your connection to certain sites. You have quite the comprehensive list of things you have already tried.
Im not exactly sure what to suggest for you to do. Good luck.

Hi,

I have a PC on windows XP Professional and I have been having trouble downloading some websites on both firefox and IE. Others work fine, but facebook and amazon and yahoo answers won't load. There might be other websites that I can't load either, but these are the ones that I know about. Basically, I can go onto the facebook login page by googling facebook. I can type in my e-mail adress and password and try to log in, but it gets stuck. The status bar says: Waiting for static.ak.facebook.com

With amazon, it gets stuck on "Wiating for g1-ec2.images-amazon.com".

I think I've done some basic things like clearing cache, etc. I have also uninstalled both firefox and IE and re-installed them, but to no avail.

I read your post about running HijackThis and have done that and I have attached my log. I hope I did it all correctly!

Any help would be really appreciated!

Answer:Some websites won't load - HJK log

Welcome to Major Geeks!

Problems like you are mentioning are frequently not related to malware. It is to random to be malware. However by just looking at a HijackThis log we cannot tell whether you are free from malware or not since HijackThis logs by themselves do not provide an adequate picture of your PC's malware status. If you want to check your PC for malware you need to run the steps further down after the ===== bar.

You may want to try a couple other simple things first like these:

power cycle your DSL or cable mode
power cycle your router
I have even seen cases where firmware updates to a router were necessary to fix problems like this but this is less likely
Also try this, Go to Start > Run and type in cmd

Click OK.
This will open a command prompt.
Type or copy and paste the following line in the command window:
ipconfig /flushdns
Hit Enter
Exit the command window
Also download HostsXpert and then follow the below steps.

Unzip HostsXpert.zip
[*]It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
[*]Run HostsXpert.exe, click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
[*]Click the X to exit the program

I am getting Pop-ups for antivirus and Malware removal as well as something about a Forex Club.

Also, many sites aren't loading. Google loads, but I can't search with it. Careerbuilder doesn't load at all. A few other sites I use don't load either, I would have to test which don't.

I have ran AVG and Ad-Aware. Bothe have found stuff and removed them. Ad-Aware has ran a full scan about 3 times, each time finding several things to remove.

HiJackThis Log has been attached.

I ran Combo Fix and realized that I hadn't setup the Recovery Console. I set that up after ComboFIX completed scan.

Answer:Pop-ups and Some websites won't load

Hi,

Welcome to Tech Support Forum.

The version of Combofix you are using is old. Please remove the old copy and download the latest copy from here and save it to your desktop.

Double click on ComboFix.exe to run it.

When done, a log will be produced. Please post that log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

Do not mouse click on Combofix while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
______________________

Create an Uninstall list
Open HijackThis.
Click on the Open the Misc Tools section button.
Look under System tools.
Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
Click on the Save list... button.
It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply.

I have not been able to open many forums and websites that have .php at the end of the link/address. I tried both FireFox and IE on Vista Home x64. I don't think it is an issue with the sites I'm visiting because it is happening to many sites I've tried to load. The weird thing is that sometimes the pages will not load, and the next day it will, then i won't again. I have done several virus and spyware scans and came up with no threats. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Answer:.php websites won't load

Have you tried with the 32 bit IE, the 64 bit IE does have problems with some sites as it is more geared towards security.

Hello. I'm having this problem: some websites won't load under certain conditions, no matter what browser I use (chrome, firefox and IE8). When I try to right click a link and press 'open in a new tab' it will most porbably not work. It gives me this error:

Serverul nu a fost găsit (The Server could not be found)

Firefox nu găsește serverul www.wowcooc.com. (FF can't find the server <server>)

Also most of the websites are loading really SLOW!

Yea anyways I don't know anything about javascripts or hosts files, just please tell me how a hosts file should look and what do you think the problem is. Thank you in advance.

So out of nowhere I have stumbled across this problem...not being able to access a few random websites. I have used Google Chrome, Firefox, and IE...they all do the same thing. I have scanned for viruses, flushed dns, deleted temp files, tried the WinSock fix and nothing has helped in the least. I have also tried power cycling my modem and router. Even on my Zune HD the web browser cannot load these websites which leads me to believe it has to do with my network and not my computer. The websites that do work work just fine with no hiccups. Then I try to go to a website (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/ for example) and it will just sit there and load. If I am lucky it might load a broken webpage with some text, but this happens rarely. There is no error message it just loads with no progress and says "Waiting for forums.steampower.com...". This problem just started last night and I had never seen anything like this before.

Is there any guidance someone could provide?
UPDATE:

OK so I come back to my computer tonight and it's like this never happened. Everything seemed to sort itself out! Lucky me....lock if needed.

Hey guys,
I have a really nasty problem which i really have no idea how to fix. When I start my computer (which is running win 8), yahoo messenger won't sign in, and certain websites won't load for me for about 10-15 minutes. So it's just for certain websites, and the yahoo messenger client. Skype and 90% of the websites load with no problems whatsoever. And it only happens after i turn on my machine, or after a restart. The problem persists no matter what browsers i use. When i ping those websites, I get replies from them, everything looks just fine, but they just won't load. After 10-15 minutes, they just fire up, all at once and i get no problems whatsoever. It's not a problem with the internet connection, as I got another windows running machine, an iPad, and my gf's Mac, and none of them are experiencing this issue. Plus, it also happens when i'm using any other network from a different location.
Any ideas why this crap is happening to me?

Update: i have flushed my dns, and have run antivirus solutions like dr. web, combofix and malwarebyes anti-malware, and still no joy. My windows updates are up to date...
Do you need any other info for a diagnostic?

Try using Google DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 or OpenDNS 208.67.222.222/208.67.220.220 and see if the problem persist?

Yesterday I ran a virus scan and deleted several viruses. After I did that, i noticed that my internet was running slower than normal. I figured i would wait until today to see if it would work better...it didn't. In fact, it got worse. Now websites like facebook and ebay take forever to load, and when they finally load, they load incorrectly. Today I ran more virus scans but they found nothing. I tried a system restore but that didn't work either. I also tried other browsers, but they all had the same problem.

I also tried booting up in safe mode and everything worked when i did that. I've seen other people with this same problem but all of the solutions that they were given didn't work.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I've just got the internet and find that both internet explorer and firefox don't show some sites (eg won't show microsoft, some anti-virus software companies etc) yet it shows most others I go to, even obsure ones. I've tried disabling both the windows and the router firewall. I've dropped all the security levels in the Privacy and Security tabs of the Internet Options. I have SSL3 and TLS enabled. I've allowed ActiveXs to run (with prompt). I've checked C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and find the only line is: 127.0.0.1 localhostI've tried all the above simultansously but the microsoft website will not load. I can't believe it and many others have been offline for many days now. Very little software has been loaded on this laptop and it has no history of surfing and this problem I noticed almost immediately after connecting up to my router for the first time. I downloaded version 8 of IE from microsft (from a different computer a week earlier). I then downloaded the most recent firefox from here upon my struggles with IE. I'm running Windows XP Professional service pack 2. please plase helpregardspaul

Hello, I seem to be having problems with either my internet connection or software on my computer, hopefully someone out there can help me figure out what the problem is.

I recently just purchased a sager notebook, and by recent I mean I just got this sucker 3 days ago. Since then, I have been unable to access a handful of websites unless I use a proxy to tunnel them. Even then I am unable to download several files from said sites because they simply will not load.

I first noticed this when I tried to access Firefox.com. Having used Mozilla on my previous computer, I decided to switch over to it again on my new one. At least I thought I was going to. The website simply will not load, and continuously times out. When I attempt to diagnose the problem, I receive a message stating "Your computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or resource is not responding."

I immediately assumed it was Internet Explorer, my current browser at the time, was restricting me from accessing the site. I disabled my firewall and played around with my privacy settings, but to no avail it remained unreachable. So, I searched and searched and found a Developer Preview version of Mozilla, and downloaded it hoping the problem would not persist. To my surprise, I was still unable to access the website even with a seperate browser.

So I unistalled the Mozilla crap and returned to using Internet Explorer, albeit begrudgingly, until I could fix the problem.

It wasn't long ... Read more

I am using Windows 8 64-bit and I am having an issue loading certain websites. Twitter and Facebook are the main two. I have tried Chrome, Firefox, IE, Chrome portable, Firefox portable and qupzilla portable. I tried using https as well. http://en-gb.facebook.com loads but once I enter my login details it just comes up with "problem loading page" again. I have run Malwarebytes and SUPERantispyware I have cleared cache's etc and nothing seems to be helping. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm almost at my wits end with it.
I should add I've reset my router, restored factory settings but they seem to work on other devices (android phone, old laptop etc).

Check and make sure that time/date settings were accurate in your computer. If the problem still persists, try uninstalling Firefox/Chrome and install it back again.

I am using Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 8100 Desktop PC. I am having trouble getting a couple of websites to load. I used to use these sites all the time, then, one day, they stopped working; I could no longer visit them. It would say, "Page Cannot Be Displayed". So far I have found only 2 websites that it does this on. On babycenter.com & gamefaqs.com. They were fine one day, and then, nothing. Can you help me?

I'm running Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] on an HP 2000 Notebook. I have a Belkin router (not sure what model).
This problem started while I was watching a Twitch.tv VOD that stopped playing. When I refreshed the page, it wouldn't load at all, and now neither Twitch, Twitter, nor Yahoo websites will load up at all. This is happening on both computers in my house. When I try to browse the sites on my smartphone through mobile data, they work fine, but through wifi they will not load.
I was recent;y able to access a Twitch page by using the secure.twitch.tv link format for some reason, but the VOD still doesn't load. Not sure what that signifies.
I tried a few things I read about online to try and fix it (changing IPv4 settings, manually entering DNS server, disabling all website filters, ....), but nothing has helped.
I'm not sure if these things are important, a few things I noticed from an"ipconfig /all" run that might be abnormal (I'm not super tech savvy) are: DHCP is not enabled for my Wireless LAN adapter, IP Routing is not enabled, and WINS Proxy is not enabled.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

For a long time I've tolerated this problem. Basically, an assortment of websites have trouble loading. Some times they will take a couple refreshes to load, sometimes they will load in HTML after a long time, and some don't load at all. Sometimes a website will work fine, but then not load the next day. It's starting to really piss me off, especially since it affects such websites as:
- SoundCloud
- Twitch.tv
- Justin.tv
- The Escapist
- Facebook (occasionally)
- Many more!
As far as I can tell, this all started a few months ago. My internet spontaneously stopped working. I called my ISP (TelstraClear NZ), and the operator did some troubleshooting. Eventually the problem just seemed to fix itself after I unplugged and replugged my modem; I guess it reset my connection. But ever since then, I've had this problem.
I have a SURFBoard modem and a Netgear wireless router.
The things I've done to try fix are:
- Changing my DNS servers - many times
- Using a different OS/computer
- Using a different browser
- Pinging the servers of stuck websites. Often I can't reach them with a ping
- Turning off/unplugging my modem and router
- Plugging my modem directly into the computer
I'm at my wit's end as to what the problem is. Everything i can see suggests that this is a DNS problem - the seemingly arbitrary times websites won't work, my inability to ping them, the random assortment of affected websites. The only other thing that would make sense ... Read more

Answer:Certain websites don't load

Diagnose the problem with the ISP modem only being used. It might be a hardware or connection problem from your provider. Try ipconfig/flushdns on command prompt.

Hi,

I bought a Sony Vaio netbook in November 2010 and to start with it allowed me access to hotmail, my work email, and university email accounts. Now however, none of these websites will load for me to access any of my emails. The internet progress bar says 'done' but the pages always remain blank.

I can't load any videos on youtube either.

I've had a look around up here and can't really find anything useful.

Please help as I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm not that much of an advanced user. I'm really just an average computer user.

I'd be grateful for any advice you can give me.

This problem started suddenly a day or two ago after about a month of using a new Win 8.1 computer.
Most websites won't load: spin for awhile and then give "The connection has timed out" message. Some websites load quickly and easily, though: search engines (Google, ixquick, Yahoo, Wikipedia), my Verizon Yahoo webmail.

Oddly, GoogleMaps won't load from a search engine or from the address bar, but if I go to Google.com and use the Google Apps icon to go to maps, it loads instantly.

Relevant facts:

Win 8.1 on an Asus desktop PC. Automatic update is on.

Using Firefox 40.0.3, fully updated (but Internet Explorer has the same problem behavior)
Home wireless network (my Android tablet does NOT show the same behavior; can connect fine through same wireless connection) No other devices are using the network.

Computer came with free trial of McAfee security. Using that, including McAfee Personal Firewall. No other virus/firewall/security/spam blocker software is active.
I did a search on this problem and all the results I get date back to 2012-13. Then, no one had any solutions. I'm hoping that since then, this problem has been identified and solved!

Any suggestions appreciated. It's driving me nuts!

I was hoping I wouldn't have to post on the forum (I hope I chose the right category to post it in) for advice but after reading endless threads all over the net I am still left with a problem I can't seem to figure out.
Basically, there are 3 websites (that I know of) that won't load on my laptop at home. Google.com, Facebook.com and Amazon.com.
I've tried to disconnect my WiFi and turn my phone into a hotspot but they still won't load. They all work on my phone, both on the WiFi and the mobile network. They also work on other PC's
I use Firefox, but I have tried Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and Opera and none of them can open these sites.
A few of the advices I've read and tried are:
Replacing 'http' with 'https'. Did nothing.
Flushing by opening a command box and writing 'flushdns'. I did it correctly and it did not work.
I have my computer set up with a login password (the reason I post this is because I read somewhere that setting a login password might help). This is how desperate I am.
I haven't done a System Restore because the dates offered aren't after this started to happen, which is over a month ago.
I'm from Iceland and for some reason google.is does work.
I have a year old Acer with a Windows 7 64 bit OS.
Is there anybody out there that has the slightest idea of what is causing this?
Many thanks in advance.

On my computer, I have had countless operating systems installed reinstalled and removed. Most of the time I go for a complete wipe. But I decided to swap around my computers because my main PC broke down so my test pc is now my normal one. I am running XP professional, have run windows vista and Linux Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10.

The problem has occured after a few months of having Windows Vista, and now after 42 days of running XP professional. However the problem does not occur on Ubuntu. I have checked for viruses/spyware/malware etc and apart from double click nothing.

The problem is that Google Images does not show any thumbnails. When I click on the thumnnail it RESETS my internet connection. However I can copy and paste the link into the address bar hit return and it work fine. www.pcspecialist.co.uk will load no images and when I click a link the browser will take about a minute to do something then displays an error about my connection, however the connection has not dropped. From this point forward I have no internet access. I unplug and replug in my wireless g dongle, no effect, Turn off and turn on the g type router of the same make, no effect. I delete my connection and set up the connection again, no effect. I have no internet access until I reboot my pc.

Another website that is displaying symptoms is filefront, the CSS will no longer load and sometimes it causes the same effect as pcspecialist, and forums sometimes have difficulty loading.

Answer:Some websites do not load

You can tackle this problem two ways, first by just clearing the cache, but also by restarting the DNS client service, which handles caching of DNS lookups.

Open up your command prompt by right clicking on it and choose run as administrator :
Now type in the following command: ipconfig /flushdns > click enter
This usually clears up any issues that might be occurring. Note that with Firefox you should probably also close and reopen it, because Firefox has a DNS cache as well.
Open up an administrator mode command prompt again as above,
Now type in the following commands:
net stop dnscache > click enter
net start dnscache > click enter
Now just to make sure your DNS Service has started again open run type in services.msc >click enter
Scroll down to DNS Client and just check that it says " started automatic "

This should help you out !

This has been happening recently... most of the websites I try to go to won't load at all, or simply state at the bottom of Firefox that it's transferring data or whatever.

Some of the websites that will never load are... yahoo answers, last.fm, facebook... Others will give me a 404 error message until I refresh the internet page a dozen times.

It definitely is not a problem with my ISP.. ever since I've bought my Toshiba (with Windows Vista Home Basic, eek), I've been having problems.

I don't know what to do. suggestions? :B

But the graphics I make do require me to venture out to find websites with a large collection of photos of the person or people the requester is using for their character. Normally this just results in me finding and using fan sites.

Where the problem is happening is that certain sites just won't load (even though they once did months ago). At first I thought it was just my old and dying computer that was like four years old. But I'm now using a brand new custom built (and expensive) system but the problem still remains. I have done a few tests, even grabbed some suggestions from this site in fact. But nothing seems to be working. When I did a troubleshoot on my connection and then insert the sites I was trying to access it came back saying my network was fine but the site was not responding. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Also, friends of mine have been able to load these sites just fine and just like I stated back a few months ago I too could access them.

Answer:Certain Websites Won't Load

Welcome to Seven Forums KamiCDN. Can you share some sites you are having problems with? What browser are you using, and do you have more than one browser that exhibits this problem? Try accessing one of the sites through a web based proxy, and see if it displays normally that way.

Not sure what is wrong. I have so many problems with sites not wanting to load at all or sometimes when they load, like Kookeys website is one I'm having alot of problems with, it has like a plain dark blue section in the middle of the screen. The url for the site is www.kookeys.comSometimes I get as far as a page that just keeps saying Loading...This may take a few moments-- but it will be worth the wait!I tried to contact the people at the site and I don't think they even read my email because of the response I got back. I think they just sent out one of those form letters that they send to anyone who writes. I've tried so many things like clearing the cache, cookies, all that stuff.

Why is it in Web design section? What browser, version do you use?Did you try different browser?

all devices connected to the internet in my house load websites and internet using games fine, but my desktop connected to the same internet will run most websites fine but buzzfeed, reddit, world of warcraft all have immense lag and load times 50% of websites work fine, 50% won't load at all, these same websites not loading load fine on any other device in the house. Avg free whole computer scan reports no malware, running windows 10. It's like the internet will only work for 50% websites/games on this pc, but all other devices on the network load everything just fine.

Hi, I've been having a problem with my pc in that I sometimes can't load websites. This happens in both firefox and I.E.

I can't think of anything about the websites themselves that would stop them from loading. I noticed a couple of days ago that one website that didn't work, would work if i removed the www. for the url. I then was able to load the site but it didn't display as it should in that this page does not show the toolbar examples on the page, but i instead get a grey blank bar.

I can load the sites on another pc in my house, so it must be something to do with this pc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help,
Justin.

Hey all, here's my problem:

Some websites on either browser on my computer (Safari or Firefox) simply don't load, or rarely load. I don't know how to resolve the initial issue, but I've been getting around it by using a proxy site, which solves the problem...partially. My new issue is that javascript doesn't work through proxy sites (even if you say to allow it on both our browser and on the proxy site homepage), renderring certain websites unusable. So, I need a way to make those sites work, either by resolving the original problem, or by fiding a way to get the java to load. Any advice?

Answer:Can't load certain websites

Have you cleared your cache and cookies in both Safari and Firefox?
Try and clear your DNS cache from terminal. If you didnít get an error then the command worked.

okay i'm pretty new at all this forum stuff so forgive me if i mess up. but recently, a couple websites that used to load on my computer won't load. Especially myspace. i can click on links to view profiles, but the background just stays gray and it says it's done loading. it's not the myspace website with the problem because my roomate can get on it just fine. a couple other websites won't work either. it's basically websites that have a lot of stuff on their page (i'm sorry if i lost you guys, i'm not really internet-lingo smart) such as abc.com or other tv websites. i've done virus scan a bunch of times and everytime nothing comes up. it's been like this for about a month now. any suggestions? thanks!

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I've found that since about a week ago, certain websites refuse to load on my laptop, the only sites that will load are this one, Facebook, Youtube, Google and other Google sites, Reddit, and some others. I've tried flushing the DNS, changing the TCP4 server and several other things, yet on any internet network or any browser other sites refuse to load!

If any of you know how this can be fixed then please let me know. Thanks a lot in advance

Answer:some websites will not load

I do not know this product, but if they just included a firewall and did not disable the windows firewall, there may be a conflict. After that, go to their website since this is directly related to their product. They probably have a support site with FAQ's, common fixes, an email or chat tech, and possibly a forum dedicated to their product. They know their product best and others likely will have the same problem. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Just earlier today, for some reason, I am unable to get onto some sites because they just won't load at all, the main ones being Wikipedia, other wiki and wikia based sites and just some random sites when searching for stuff on google. They take forever to load and then come up with the message 'oops! Google chrome could not open the site'. Other than that, most sites are working perfectly fine and are running at a normal speed, but some are a bit slow with loading, like IGN, Gamespot and the American site for yahoo answers.

I've tried two different internet browsers (google chrome and internet explorer), but that doesn't work. It DEFINITELY has nothing to do with my computer because I've tried both my computers and they both have the same issue (even my PS3 couldn't load wikipedia). I tried connecting my DS to my internet earlier as well and couldn't connect (kept getting the 62010 error code) the first two times (never happened before).

So I think it must be something to do with my internet connection. I've checked my internet speed and that hasn't changed, it's just some sites refuse to load or take forever to load, very annoying. And I tried loading wikipedia and other sites that wouldn't load on my computer(s) on my phone and they all loaded fine, and since my phone is using the mobile internet, there must be something wrong with my router/internet connection.

The only thing I can think of is that my br... Read more

Hi! My mother's computer recently needed a clean up so I removed adware, ran scans and all that but there was still a problem with her loading our credit union's website: sdccu.com. I checked on my own laptop, and found the same issue for me and every other computer in the house. Assuming it was a problem with Verizon fios, I contacted their fios support line only to be met with a message stating they were being swamped with an unexpected number of support calls. I tried again today and got the same message. Even their chat support is busy. I'm assuming it's a problem with Verizon, since I've used a down or not site, pinged repeatedly, tried different browsers, rebooted my modem, reset the system, followed multiple instructions in the forum, etc. My question is, does anyone know if Verizon is having these issues? I've only found a few forum posts complaining of similar problems and that's it. Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal, but sdccu.com is a website my mom uses to transfer money and pay bills so it's important. My mom can access the site through her iphone when she connects to a different network however, her iphone does not connect at home, as expected. Anyway, thank you for your time.

You guys were instrumental in saving my computer last time I caught a virus. Everything was going smoothly for months, thanks to you guys, and then suddenly I had a virus again. There are no explicit symptoms except that AVG said I had one. I scanned with AVG Anti-virus, AVG Anti-spyware, Spybot and Ad-aware. Found some things, cleaned them up without issue. However, there ARE symptoms which may or may not be related to the infection. Facebook.com, IMDB, Orbitz.com, Ebay, and Amazon are among the small but annoying list of websites that do not want to load, or will take an extremely long time to load (twenty minutes). Embedded Windows Media Player files also crash Firefox every so often. Facebook hangs at static.ak.facebook.com. Ebay hangs at something ebaystatic.com What's this static thing?

I'm certain malware is causing the problem because IE and Firefox alike don't load the websites. But it can't be a DNS issue because they do load sometimes, and sometimes even at a normal speed. I just can't seem to find it. Should I run ComboFix?

Hello Forum,
I am working on my mom's PC as she is having major problems.
I'm guessing the recommended solution is going to be a complete new installation when I describe the problems :-)

She has had a few credit card numbers stolen/used and her e-mail was compromised.
Windows Defender was disabled and I could not enable it, but now that is fixed (it is again disabled, but this time by the Anti-Virus Program and not the malware). Internet Explorer could not open websites as it always said that the security settings were blocking the website. Because of these errors, I removed a lot of malware with ADWCleaner, Emsisoft, and Malwarebytes. I'm not convinced I got it all though.

The remaining problems are that the PC is extremely slow, the mouse and keyboard randomly stop working (multiple wired devices tested), and random Ads pop up on websites (from AdChoice and WebAds) that should have no ads.

The speed of the PC is not of interest to me in this post, I can get to that by cleaning up the startup applications etc. But I am guessing it will speed up once all malware is removed.

Now the PC info:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
GFI Software Vipre Anti-Virus 2014

I hope that's enough info to get us started on a solution!

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I've got a strange issue with my Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7 64bit

lately it loads some websites zoomed in (like if I pressed once CTRL & +)
some websites load normally, some first zoomed in then switch automatically to normal view, and other stay zoomed in.

The problem occurs whenever I close a website and reopen it.
Firefox restart tried, Windows restart tried, resetting bookmarks tried...
and tried to clear cache...

hope you can help me, that kind of annoying... ^^"

many thanks in advance - Reimi
