I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 my jack stik headset with microphone is no longer recognized by Windows. It used to work in Windows 8.1. I have downloaded and installed  Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad L450, T450, T450s But no difference it still doesn't work.  And the worst part is that I'm a heavy user of Skype for Business (Lync) but NOW I have to redirect ALL calls to my cellphone - This is NOT Smart and I losses a lot of calls.  So for now I will advise nobody to upgrade to Windows 10 if they love Lync and still wants to use Lync on the road without others have to listen or with the poor sound from the build in microphone.

Answer:Headset with microphone not recognize after upgrad...

I have now fixed the problem by my self.  You have to enable the Multi-stream mode of the device advanced setting in RealTek HD Audio Manager. Then the external microphone gets visible. I cannot figure out why this setting is not set by default. Is it only me who thinks it is brilliant to use a common SmartPhone headset for Skype communication also??? This setting would never have been set if I didn't have used the time to investigate. ??

Hi Sorry if there is already a thread about this subject, but I'm at a loss how to solve this issue now. I have just bought an Ideapad 100-15IBD and the microphone does not pick up anything at all. To make things worse I have an exam on Monday 25th July which is an online exam for which I require a working camera and microphone....one out of two will not do!!! I have followed the advice via the Lenovo Solution Centre and nothing. I have followed all the Microsoft advice that says to access troubleshooting etc etc.... Please please please can someone help me. I'm not very literate when it comes to uninstalling / reinstalling drivers so if this it, please can you leave a nice lengthy explanation :-) Thanking everyone in advance les

Hello! My microphone is not receiving sound when I try to use the webcam for one of my classes. All of the updates are current and I have made sure that all of the properties in the settings of the microphone are enabled. Is there anything else that could be wrong besides a hardware issue? Thanks!

I have been unable to use the onboard microphone in my laptop. I don't know exactly when this started, but there are other weird issues that are accompanying it. First, when I use F4 to try to toggle the mute, it always shows that it is muted on screen, instead of toggling the microphone from mute to unmuted and back, like the camera toggle, or touchpad input toggle keys do. Also, when I plugged a small microphone into the audio jack, it created a pop-up to ask if it was headphones or speakers with no other option. So for now, plugging in a microphone also doesn't work. I have uploaded/ reset some drivers and it keeps telling me I have the best driver available, so what gives?

Answer:Yoga 910 Microphone Not Working

Hi there, In2 -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Reverting to the Microsoft Built in Driver
Open Device Manager
Under Sound and game controller Right click on the sound adapter and click on update driver
On the prompt of update driver click on  Browse my computer for Driver Software
On the next window Click on let me pick from a list of device driver

Now you will have a list of drivers already available in your system,
If your system has a Lenovo Supplied driver plus a Microsoft built in driver, then you should have at least two drivers on the list

If you see a High definition Audio then that should be the Microsoft built in, click that and install it.

Update us how it goes.

Hi all! I am now owning my Yoga 2 for a week and since yesterday I tried Dragon and Skype, but had to realize that the internal microphone(s) are not working! I reinstalled the drivers automatically as well as manually, deactivated the device, deactivated the Lenovo Smart Voice App and changed any possible settings for mics (put it of course to maximum levels).  The Lenovo hotline here in Germany has no clue and only suggested to wait for new drivers. Does anyone else has the same problem or do I have a faulty machine? In combination with the yellow-problem I am tempted to return the Yoga 2 as long as I can. Because if it is a hardware problem, the repair will take up to 2 weeks. Does anyone have suggestions for alternatives? Thanks!

Hey all, I've been trying to use cortana for some time now and the voice recognition never works. I go to "Cortana and Search Settings",  and it shows the voice recognition as being on. Then I click on "Microphone: Make Sure Cortana can hear me" and I'm taken to a troubleshooting page that says "Set up your microphone." When I click that, it takes me to a screen that asks me to read a phrase, but it never registers my voice. The green bar moves slightly sometimes but always still in the red area and it doesn't even move when I screem. I am not on mute or anything. Then an error message comes up telling me it can't hear me. However, when I click on the speaker button and go to "Recording Devices" the microphone comes up under sound and has a small voice recognition bar that goes up when I talk and seems to be fine. So the microphone seems to be working fine there, but just won't recognize my voice when I try to set up Cortana. Any ideas?

My Yoga 13 internal microphone is not working.  I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps listed in the various forum posts, including uninstalling/reinstalling the devices and drivers with no success.  How do I get my microphone to work?

I cannot get sound recording to work on my new 910. I've tried removing all drivers and installing the latest drivers but the problem is the same. I just get noise rather than a recording. It means I can't use Skype or any other application that needs to use the microphone. I've run out of things to try. It does work when I connect an external headset via USB so it just seems to the internal device that doesn't work. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Has anyone had any luck solving this issue? When I skype the person on the other end can barely hear me when I speak at normal volume. It also does not work when I plug in my headset (with microphones attached) into the audio jack, I have tried three different headsets.I have spoken at/into the laptop microphone (without the headsets pluged in) and it made no difference in volume for the other side.I made sure that the mic is not muted or anything, its just not picking up on my voice very well, or at all.

I've just recently recieved my brand new Thinkpad Yoga, and everything seems to be ok except the microphone. Under Recording Devices of Windows 8.1, the meter is showing no activitiy even with the boost and volume turned right up. Apps like Skype etc are showing no audio being received either. I've uninstalled the audio drivers completely and reinstalled which has made no difference. The driver reports that everything is ok too. I ran through the windows audio troubleshooting tool which reports no issues as well though it is clearly not working. Any suggestions of have I received an expensive duff laptop?

Install drivers from realteck website.5. BIOS update.6. Remove drivers in Device Manager. Windows loaded them again on restart.7. Disable sound effects.8. Hi All, I recently purchased my Yoga 13. I'm having an issue with the microphone. While trying to set up skype I couldn't get the microphone working. I initially checked to make sure the microphone wasn't on mute... and it wasn't.  I then tried the following:- windows voice recorder which didn't register my voice- disabling and enabling the microphone- uninstalling and reinstalling the driver - going through windows troubleshoot wizard which couldn't find anything. Has anyone had this issue with their Yoga 13 or have any advice what I could try next? Many thanks!

Could you please try to uninstall the audio drivers Conexant Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 and reinstall them again,

And after that please try again to enter Search and type Troubleshoot on the settings tab and select troubleshoot and then Hardware and Sound and then Recording audio,

And share with us the status of the recording after these steps.

Hope the information helps. Let us know.

Hi,Someone used my notebook recently, and while trying to modify the microphone settings, may have accidentally deleted the microphone software.  When I look at the recording devices tab, I see "No recording devices found" and my microphone does not work.  I updated to the newest version of the Audio driver, but this didn't seem to solve the problem. There are no recording devices listed under the Device Manager at this point either.  Any ideas?  Many thanks for any help.

Unfortunatly the maximum resolution that I see in the Windwos 10 display settings is 1366x768. Is this a software issue or the display is not FHD? This is pretty annoying..The built-in microphone stooped from working with apps such as skype, hangouts and others. It works for "sound recording" app.I saw many threads about this issue, but none resolved yet.

Answer:Built-in Microphone not working with Skype, Hangouts on - Yoga 3 Pro (Win 8)

Have you connected any external Mic?
Did you try a shutdown and start again?
Did you go into Skype settings and see which Mic option is it displaying?
Did you uninstall and install those applications?

As you say, that the mic is actually working so I am thinking this is more of a software issue.

Hi, I've tried looking for tech specs (I know the hardware specs) for the monitor so I can work out what pen/stylus would be best for the touch screen. However, I can not find this particular product (spec specific) on the website.  If anyone could help me out that would be great, Ideally I'd like something with pressure levels as I do digitally draw from time to time, and would be helpful whilst writing. But would settle for something that isn't due to owning a GFX tablet anyway. Also, I'm unsure if this ideapad is referred to as a 15, 500 or 8 due to not know where this terminology is based from (model name, model series ect) seems unclear, perhaps I'm just looking into it too much and it is just a 500. Thanks to anyone that spends time reading, and thanks in advance for advice. ~Kris

I bought the yoga 500-15IBD(w/i5 5200U;GT 940m and 8G of RAM) in summer of 2015. At first the notebook is doing fine. But at mid-late 2016 the notebook start acting strange, the CPU start lock the frequency at 0.44 Ghz while charging. I find out that the BD prochot is the reason and I disable it with throttlestop. Then when I start gaming for few minutes the laptop just shut down, because of overheating. So I try playing game with BD prochot on and with battery. And the gameplay become very laggy. Not like low fps, but just very laggy. I monitored the CPU and the CPU just get throttled massively frequently and the frequency just go up and down. Which never happen before, the laptop used to be at least playable with consistent (low) fps.  What should I do. Is some component damaged? Should I clean the fan (I checked the fan and it seems fine to me)? Should I charge the thermal paste?  ps I try to stress test both CPU and GPU, it's fine when doing test alone. But when testing both CPU and GPU the temp of CPU just go sky high (~100 C) and the GPU seems to be cool in terms of temperature(75 C)and than the laptop shut down. Even when testing GPU only while CPU is idle both temp got ~75 C. When doing only CPU test CPU temp ~88 C max and GPU stay at ~55 C. It seems the GPU is transfering heats to the CPU.

I bought a new Yoga 500 15IBD 2 Months ago and since a view weeks the Laptop had several power breakdowns while in battery mode. All of a sudden the Laptop turns black, all lights and the hdd turns off and I have to connect the power cord to get it started again - although the Battery certainly isn't empty according to the OS-Battery indicators AND often having the Laptop fully charged less than half an hour ago. (The Yoga runs for at least 3 hours if the bug does not appear). Now this is no driver issue, I have the problem while running Windows 10, Linux Mint and Backbox Linux. I suppose it's either a battery issue or a faulty architectual design. Since  I see a lot of similar power-off related messages accross the spectrum of lenovo devices, could someone finally publically explain the source of the problem so there is a chance to get rid of it ... especially in future products?

Hello,My microphone has not worked since i bought this laptop over a year ago, but it has not become a problem until recently for me. Initially no Conexant devices were discoverable in audio decivesI tried uninstalling and reinstalling the conexant driver, and the only progress that has been made is that a conexant external microphone is now visible (which i do not own). How can i make the internal mic discoverable? / do i need to use some other device like realtek?Thank you!!!Duncan (again, windows 10)

I bought the Yoga 500 a week ago however immediately after starting it I have been faced with problems. At first i thought its normal since it is a brand new laptop and it takes time till it adjusts but that didn`t happen. The problems are as follows: 1) The mouse coursor  and touchpad keeps on blocking regularly. I tried it also with an external mouse and I faced the same problems. 2) WIFI:  a) it keeps loosing its signal continually             b) It dissconect from the wifi almost every 30 minutes              c) Whenever i want to reconnect to the wifi it shows there are no connections available eventhough my phone and my girlfriends laptop is already connected ( and there are over 5 other wifi-s available from my neighbors)             d) Every single time I have to use the troubleshooter which says "problem with wireless adapter or acces point". And then it dissconnects again.  Thank you for your help

Hi, I got a problem with my laptop. The fan is making loud noise everytime I open a new window, a new tab, any setting window and so. I believe it is supposed to make this kind of noise when I'm stressing it with more programs running, not by simply open the files explorer... Any idea on what to do? (model is Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD)ThanksNstant

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD loud fan noise

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

Answer:Yoga 500 - 15IBD - Bios update went wrong

What you can see there is a Boot menu. Your laptop can't boot from disk and display boot selection menu. Try to enter BIOS (can't say how to do it, as you didn't told which Yoga model do you have) and try to change boot settings from UEFI -> Legacy (or in other way) and/or disable Secure Boot. Check if after these changes your laptop will be able to boot.

Hi everybody, when I unplug the charger on my yoga 500 the screen starts to flicker like a rave party, I have searched like crazy all over and have found no solution to the problem. Things already tested:-Unplugging and plugging battery cable.-Disabling Windows error reporting service and Problem reports and solutions-Trying to update intel drivers from driver section and intel site.-Trying to update, and disable realtek hd audio driver. Things to take in account:-When connected to a second monitor, the new one won't flicker.-Laptop has warranty voided because of ssd install. (problem still occurs on bios with and withouth an HDD/SSD) so it shouldn't be considered a Windows 10 problem.-After SSD install, windows update doesn't allow me to update anything. I believe it thinks I'm booting from external hard drive. I cloned the original HDD into the SDD so that shouldn't be happening-Flickers increase with mouse, cursor and touch. Anybody has a fix for this? I read that a lot of people have this problem but I rarely see fixes.proof video https://www.dropbox.com/s/gttvhylvggtug7x/2017-05-26%2013.00.00.mov?dl=0

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 15-IBD to an SSD, with a complete reinstall of Windows. Everything was working great; boot times were quicker and the system was far more responsive. However, the computer randomly freezes now, without any warning. I have to do a hard reset. Reliability monitor gives no clues of what the problem might be. The SSD is brand new, and passed a 'long' test this morning.

I have no idea where to go next; I seems that there is one problem after another with this laptop!

Thanks for your help!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi soopg.

When it freezes is there anything being logged in the event viewer? (System / Application / Other)

Have you looked at your Storage drivers. Before attempting to update please ensure you have an Image you can fall back to if required. While investigating would also be a good idea to have data backed up. You said this was a clean install so you likely have that point covered.

If you don't have a tool you could check out Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and tutorial with forum.

You may wish to check out the Driver Verify process.

This tutorial will guide you through the verification process, heed the warnings. Assuming it fails follow the posting instruction in the BSOD section of forum.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

The tutorial states make a restore point. Seems to be a lot of people having issues using restore points hence have an Image.

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. Hi,

I upgraded my laptop hp dv6-7014nr serial number {Private Information Removed} and product number B2P41UA from Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit to Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.  I pressed F-12 four days ago to turn my wireless off, however, I cannot turn it back on by pressing F12.  The light stays orange.  When I run any repair or Windows diagnose utility (from control panel or Device manager, etc. basically any other instruction or suggestion I have found on the internet), all it asks me to do is turn on my wi-fi, so it directs me to the problem that I had in the first place.  I don't know anywhere on my computer where to turn on the wifi button besides pressing F-12 (or Fn + F-12).  The HP Connection Manager dows not work.  I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still dows not work, so I don't think that is relevant.  Also, I uninstalled with Broadcom wireless adapter and reinstalled it and the button still won't work, so I am out of options.  I paid $15 for this software upgrade and it is a waste of time and money if not everything will work with the upgrade (ex:  F12 wifi key).  Attached is a picture of where it shows the wifi is off.

Thanks.

Answer:Wireless button (f12) not working after windows 8 pro upgrad...

Hi: I have seen several posts from forum members with the Broadcom wireless adapters with the same issue as you are having. I don't know if anyone was able to resolve the issue. I had suggested trying the Windows 7 broadcom driver and see if that works. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-107849-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...= If you decide to take this suggestion for action, and the driver doesn't install automatically, try manually installing it by going to the device manager, under network adapters, click on the Broadcom wireless adapter. Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for software method and browse to the installation folder that was created when you ran the file. That file is located in C:\SWSetup\sp57965. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and hopefully the driver will install. That is the only idea I can come up with. I am very surprised by this as Broadcom usually has good drivers that work. Paul

Hi, I am looking for help. I have a HP Elitebook 8440p that I recently upgraded to windows 10.  I also did a bios update from F50 to F60. All hardware drivers are found and installed. There are no errors in the hardware management window and everything is peachy. Today however, I discovered that my wifi isn't working. The wifi button seems to work, the little light goes from orange to blue and then my blue-tooth is working fine (I connected with my phone in a jiffy).  If I go to my network center and click the adapters, the wifi tile has a red cross and is not connected. When I click to connect, it sends me to the windows 10 network GUI with the wifi button. I tried to turn it on but it will not. It stubbornly refuses to turn on. The adapter in question is a Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 AGN, I uninstalled it, en grabbed the latest driver from the Intel support site. But nothing changed. I tried to bridge the network adapter, and I tried to let windows10 do a troubleshooting run, and windows keeps insisting I should "turn on the wifi button" on the laptop, but it's already turned on, and blue, and the blue-tooth works. Since the laptop says all drivers are fine, and the wifi led on the keyboard works as advertised, I am kinda stumped why it refuses to work. Do I need some kind of driver for the wifi button? Any advice is welcome, thanks for your time. Transjuicer.

Hello, The 2 USB ports on my Idea Pad sometimes do not recognize a device plugged into it (mostly a USB drive or peripherals like a keyboard or mouse). This generally happens if I switch peripherals/external drives while the computer is on. I have to shut down the computer in order for the USB ports to recognize the devices, which is a great annoyance. Also, a recent development is that my Ethernet cable port is not working at all, even after shut downs. The same cable works on my wife's laptop, so it is not a faulty cable. My notebook is still under warranty, so I believe I will need these problems fixed in a service center as these are not software issues (at least I think). Any advice or directions of what to do? I have also had trouble with the computer not wanting to shut down at times, and the restart capability seems to never work.

I have a Dell Vostro 1500, running 32-bit Windows 7. It came with Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple months ago, which I think is causing the issues I'm experiencing. According to whoever I'm speaking with, the sound for the microphone built in to my webcam fades in and out and gets really loud randomly. In an attempt to solve this, I bought an external microphone which also does not work.

The sound driver is the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, version 6.10.0.5614. When I tried to update it through Windows 7's update driver software it says I have the best version for my system, but I still suspect that this could be what is causing the problem. I can't seem to find a better driver though.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Hello, I am trying to use an external microphone on my Yoga 3 Pro. I have two external microphones and neither of them seems to work with my Yoga.I have tried connecting the microphone directly into the Yoga, both of them failed.I have tried connecting the microphones through a combo jack splitter (if I connect speakers on the headphones input they work, so I guess that the splitter is fine), again neither of them works. In both cases they get detected, but they do not work.

My computer:
TP Yoga S1 & Windows 10

My problem:
There is something wrong with the microphone. It does not record the sound properly. I even tried the "voice recorder" app and I can hear every second word as it is too quiet and I hear every second word (even the words I can hear are 5 times more quiet that it should be). Btw. where is the microphone on the TP Yoga S1?

What I tried already:
I tried setting up via control panel where I had to speak aload a text. I tried uninstalling the driver and restarting the PC when the driver reappear, but still no effect.

Is there a button/toggle that mutes the microphone on the Yoga 3 Pro?  I know I can click through the control panel and disable it, but for conference calls I want to be able to mute background noise until I need to speak.  I'm really hoping there is a function key setting or even a keystoke sequence that will toggle the microphone on/off mute.  I can't find any such documented feature.

My Yoga 3 Pro does not recognize the headset I use for Skype calls etc. It does tell me that something is plugged into the jack and it does switch to the external loudspeaker, i.e. I can hear through the headset. But the microphone does not switch from internal to external. I read that not all headsets are compatible. It has something to do with how they are wired and how the audio adapter combines input and output into one connector. I am using Sennheiser PC3 headset with PCV05 combo audio adapter. What adapter do I need to get my microphone to work? Thanks much, Tina

Answer:Yoga 3 Pro with headset: microphone not recognized

I had an old headset that needed a combo adapter and it never worked in my yogas or cell phones. you need a combo phono jack like mobile head sets (the jacks has three rings on it, not a seperate headphone and microphone jack) have that come with a new cell phone. basically look for headphones with an in-line mic and or the the stamp on the packaging "compatible with mobile devices" etcI game for hours on end on my yoga 3 14" and I have the Skullcandy Slyr headphones. very nice. on the go i use regular earbuds with a built in mic, and you'll be pretty hard-pressed to find any earbuds that don't have a mic

Answer:Yoga 12 - Microphone issues with Skype

My microphone is a bit odd as well, using a different method to call via internet, the person could not hear me well and I tried to call 8 times - i can hear them very well they can't hear me well. I did not yet try skype and other methods to check if the microphone is at fault or not. However, I tried the the built in "voice recorder" in Windows and the recording was not crisp and clear as I was used to. Can you try the "voice recorder" to see if your voice will be recorded well?

I would be happy if others having S1 could confirm that the microphone is doing fine?
Can someone suggest some methods to troubleshoot the microphone or refresh the drivers?

Hi everyone, I bought my ThinkPad Yoga 12 just a month ago, upgraded to Windows 10 after a few days. Everything worked fine, including speakers and microphone. Skype worked well. Yesterday I wanted to use Skype but my microphone did not work. I found that no microphone was even to be found in the settings. Naturaly, I reinstalled the audio driver. Now, there is at least one symbol "Built-in microphone" but is not connected. Neither can it be connected. Troubleshooting tells me to connect and external microphone. I have made both deactivated and disconnected devices visible in the menu. Does anybody know what is wrong with my mic and has an idea how to fix it? Thank you very much!Kai PS: Sending it back is out of the question as I currently work in Cambodia.

I do not know if it's possible to help me, I bought the yoga 700-14IKB in the beginning of the month. When I'm talking on skype and the ventilation is working, The person talking to me can not hear me because the ventilation is too close to the microphone. I realized that ventilation  works many times, And it's nuisance to anyone who's listening. Could you possibly help me?Thank you.Regards

The latest Windows 10 Realtek microphone driver for the Yoga 11e 20e7 does not work in Skype and Cortana.  If you revert the driver to the generic Microsoft High Definition Audio Device it works correctly.

I've never gotten the microphone working in my Yoga 370. When using the standard "High definition audio device" driver it is impossible to use the microphone. Only electric noise is heard and it is impossible to make out any of the sound input. Example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/31zbppawd53mvz1/inaudible.mp3?dl=0 If I install the "Conexant SmartAudio HD"-driver instead output is the same. If I, while using the Conexant-driver enable "Audio enhancements" in the microphone settings then it is possible to make out my voice, albeit still with a very poor quality: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9dkq9kgzy6cysch/poor%20quality.mp3?dl=0 Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I reset my yoga 12 to factory settings and upgraded to windows 10. After booting up I removed a bunch of bloatware and I think I removed something important because I just noticed that there is no microphone in the device manager. How do I get it back?

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 12 - No microphone installed - windows 10

Hey, I have this problem too, sort of. I've had my yoga 12 for about a month now and the internal microphone is no longer showing up in the device manager. Not only that, but my computer won't even detect an external microphone. I don't know that it's a problem with something you deleted (at least assuming we are having the same problem) because I didn't do that. I know this is a long way of saying I have no idea how to help you, but at least you know you aren't the only one? I've tried reinstalling drivers and I can't think of what else to do.

Hi, I've been using my new laptop for 2nd week and when I speak with someone in Skype or Facebook they complain that they first start to hear me and then the volume becomes lower and lower and they start to hear some sounds and sometimes my voice dissapears at all. One time I was recording a video of myself for an interview and the sound of the video was so low when i was listening to it that I barely heard myself even with 100% sound volume. Did somebody have the same problem?

Hi everyone, My Yoga 710 14"'s microphone is producing some kind of static/humming noise. Using the original settings, the other parties in a Skype chat can barely make out what I was saying. I tried tweaking the settings in Realtek HD Audio Managerreducing microphone boost to zero - this helped a lotenabling beam forming - slight improvementI tried the other "enhancements" but they didn't seem to helpStill, the recordings I make using my laptop's mic is not clear. Some laptops have the option to enable "noise suppression", but not on mine. Did anyone else encounter this problem and were you able to solve it?Appreciate your help!

Hello.  When I attempt to unmute the microphone function so it can record, it automatically switches back to mute.  And the "Apply" button never highlights.  Perhaps this is why the unmute never keeps.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hey, I have a problem with my sound. first of all, something happed after some kind of update, now the first 5 seconds of the song for example, it does not play, there is this delay. then I cant talk with skype of messenger because no one hears me and there is also a wind sound or something. the next problem is that the sound itself is really poor, when on less than 35 percent i cant hear a thing, i need to volume up and on 100, i wouldnt say it is that much loud. Anyone experienced the same? I only have my laptop for 2 months and I found more drawbacks than pluses...

Hi,

When I connect Thinkpad Yoga (model 20CD00B1US) to the onelink dock, the stylus stops working.

In order to enable the stylus and Wacom driver following 2 options/ workarounds:
1)  Manually stop and restart the Wacom ISD Service
2) or reboot the machine while the Onelink dock is attached.

I'm using the latest 7.2.0-4 Wacom driver version, all latest lenovo software installed installed on the machine.

Both above mentioned workarounds are ugly, does anybody have a better suggestion to fix this issue?

Had the same issue - a BIOS update just release about a week ago fixed it for me.

Yeah I have the T61p-A24. The microphone isn't working for me. I am trying to use skype and talk to my family. I tried a few different drivers and rolling back a few times. All of a sudden yesterday I could hear myself through my speakers. I didn't have any programs running. I just heard myself, and there was a big echo feedback sounding like the mic was on high. I saw through settings that the mic was working, but it wouldn't turn off. Now that it is turned off mysteriously, I can't get it to work like before. I didn't try it on skype when it was working. I just want it to work. I have heard through other posts in other forums that this is not just my problem that it is just sheer luck you are the lucky one to have the problem. Please I need this fixed. Answer:Microphone not working correctly / Working out of nowhere / Driver issues

My first question I would want to figure out is if this is hardware or software related. If it was mine, I would swap a harddrive from a similar working model and that would tell me immediately if your hardware was working, but if you don't have one to swap, then other alternatives would be needed. One option is to install a second (backup) windows version. I do this on all my computers, it comes in very handy when you can reboot into a different instalation at any time if you have a problem and either need to test your hardware, or you need to use the system imediately and don't have time to fix any issues it may currently be having.  I'd say it's very likely you have either a bad driver, setting, or corrupt files on your system, but diagnosing this in a forum post isn't really possible, but if you do have hardware failure, then I probably have any part you may need to fix it, so hopefully we can track this down. I'd also suggest you consider doing some maintainance on your cooling system. If your unit was built prior to August 2008, then you may be at risk of GPU failure which can often be prevented by cleaning your cooling system and monitoring temperatures. This has nothing at all to do with the microphone issue, but  it could save your system board from failure, so I thought I'd mention it.

Hello, I've got a problem with my Integrated Camera drivers/ Audio drivers. I believe the driver should be for the integrated camera, as microphone is on the same board. Anyway, after switching to Windows 10, my microphone stopped working. I've downloaded the driver from the website but the installation was stopped by either message "This app doesn't work on Windows10" or "Device not found" (I assume the microphone as the camera works.) When I go to skype settings and choose the microphone, the field is stated as "NONE" . Could someone give me information about what is going on, as it is really annoying? Thanks

Hi,I'm trying to use my LifeChat LX 2000 headset with the Yoga 13's combi jack. The LX2000 has separate plugs for mic and headphone. I bought a standard adapter to convert this into the required combi jack, but only the headphones work. The mic is not recognized. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the conexant driver and replaced the adapter with a new one. No change. The headset works on other computers with split jacks. Any thoughts?I know that there is the option of USB headsets, but since I already own the LX2000 and would prefer to not block another precious USB slot, I'd prefer using the available combi jack - as that's what the jack should be there for...Thanks,Jan
