Browsers so slow to load up on start up.

Question: Browsers so slow to load up on start up.

I have long had problems with slow starting up of the PC. I have tried removing virtually all start up programmes, running Scans, defrag etc. The main problem has been when loading the browser. It effects IE and Firefox. The hard disc light flashes away sometimes for half an hour before the browser loads and you can hear it whirring very slowly. Even when the internet browser loads, it initially runs so slowly that it often malfunctions and needs re-starting which leads to further problems as the ' do you want to report the problem to microsoft message is being generated in the background at a snail's pace.

Probably a rather unclear description of the problem , but I am happy to clarify if anyone has an idea as this really drives me mad. I always have to allow at least half an hour before I can expect to get online. I had convinced myself it was IE, so downloaded Firefox. I think, Firefox may be slightly better, but the problem is still there.

Thanks

Preferred Solution: Browsers so slow to load up on start up.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Browsers so slow to load up on start up.

What is your maintenance program for your system? Please name the programs you use so we can assist you further

I would suggest for starters you download and run CCleaner to clear out you temporary internet files.

Please, if you are not familiar with the software read the review thoroughly and do not use the registry cleaner option of the program.

kind regards,

I run both IE 8 and Firefox on my Dell Dimension system. I'm having problems now with both browsers taking forever to load. This may be a virus or network problem. IE 8 just loaded now after 15 minutes (exactly - I timed it).

Details:
- Once it's loaded once, both browsers load in normal amounts of time.
- I haven't downloaded any new add-ons lately unless one browser or the other installed one in the background.
- The problem just started today after a reboot.
- I've also noticed that my network icon in the taskbar doesn't show up anymore when I first boot but by the time IE opens, it has showed up.
- Using ipconfig, I did determine that I am on the network and connected immediately after boot up (router also shows me connected immediately).
- I've tried running IE from the command line with iexplore.exe -extoff. It didn't make any difference. I don't know if this works with IE 8 though.
- When I click to open either web browser, the process shows up right away in Task Manager and remains.
- I have all the latest updates to both browsers that I know of.
- I've run a complete system scan with McAfee (fully updated as of today.)

Now I've run out of ideas on what to try. I appreciate any help!

Thanks!
Alec

I have experienced a significant slow-down in my various browsers' ability to load pages over the past few months.

I use IE9 and Firefox18.  Most of the slow-down seems to be with loading ads and other content external to the particular website I am visiting (YouTube embedded video player, etc.).

On some websites, once they load, I experience freezing when scrolling with my mouse wheel -- text that blurs across the screen, etc.  This even happens on the bleepingcomputer.com site.

I'm running a 3 year-old HP desktop, wireless cable Internet connection, and have not had this issue to this extent until recently.  I installed BOINC 6 weeks ago, but the slow browser problem pre-dates that software by at least a month or more.

I've run MBAM scans - nothing found.  Online speed tests - throughput is fine.

Any suggestions on how to proceed in addressing this issue would be greatly appreciated!

I've used Firefox on my two PCs (XP) and two laptops (XP and Win7) for years. I've noticed more recently that all of them seem to have problems with loading up web pages compared to how older versions of FF were working.

I've tried using IE and Opera as well and they seem to be slow as well. All computers are running either AVG or Avast antivirus software.

If I try to open something, I can look down in the left side of the lower task bar and it will either say, "waiting for .........." or "transferring from....... " Regardless of which it is, I endure a slow painful page load up.

I've noticed this when traveling with my laptops so I know that its not just a problem with my home's internet and/or router. Some websites are worse than others because of bandwidth (I assume!)

Is it just that the web is being bombarded with so many advertisements, cookies and spyware that browsers are forced to "work harder" resulting in slower web page loading?

I've got little to no patience and I'm very sensitive to how my computers are running. In other words, I notice things like this and even my wife has noticed slower web page loading.

Danny

I forgot to mention that both laptops have recently been reformatted so they are fresh.

Answer:Web browsers slow to load up webpages

It is not ads. Cause you can hide them/disable them. This would be due to the connection and the number of people on it. Simple as that. Do you have WPA2 Security with a strong 16 character password that would take any brute force program at least a couple of days to crack? Or do you have some simple password that can be guessed by just about anyone who knows even a small detail about you?

What is your ISP speed as reported by SpeedTest.Net?

What extenstions do you have running?

What other programs do you have running?

How much RAM is in use? How many CPU Cycles?

Everything comes into effect. Sorry to inform you but no PC will stay as fast as it was the very first day you bought it. PC Hardware wears down. It starts to slow down. It is a fact of the industry. Even on a fresh install you can have more wear and tear on your hard drive causing read times to be longer.

Hello everyone,

I did not know where to post about this problem I have been having, No matter what webbrowser I use, they are all slow to load and crash! I have tried scanning for viruses, spyware, spamware and malware, but nothing shows up except cookies! I do not know what is causing this problem with all of my webbrowsers!

It first started on Internet Explorer a couple of years ago. So I decided to change to FireFox then that started to slow down and then crash on me also, but not as often as the Internet Explorer. Then I tried Google Chrome. Then that started to slow down and crash, but not as often as the Internet Explorer. It happens everytime I load up or click on a Yahoo.como page or any of the Yahoo sites: Yahoo Fantasy Sports, Yahoo Autos, etc..

At first I thought it was because I had too many tabs or windows open at one time. But that was not the cause. I tried clearing the WEbbrowsers' cauche and clearing browsing history, that only helped for about a halff hour to about a hour! I even tried clearing the computer's cache, being careful of what files got cleared, Same results! I even tried cearing old files, again being careful of what got cleared. Only helped for a little bit. I even doing a web search on this very subject, but found too many differing opinions on what causes this to happen. I tried some of the recommendations, as I listed above, but nothing has worked to prevnt this from happening. The only other things that I can think of ar... Read more

The computer I have here at work was working fine until I updated to the latest version of Firefox. It was painfully slow to open but once it was open it did relatively well. I decided I'd rather go back to the old version so I system restored back to before I did the update.. Well I dont know if a setting got changed or what but all browsers (including Chrome) are very slow to open and load most pages. This computer is on a network with 5 others and its the only one with problems. I should note it pings and speedtests just like all the others... its got me completely baffled.

I have a emachine running Windows XP, Avast, and Spybot Search and Destroy. Both Firefox and IE are slow to connect to the internet. all my scans have come back clean. Also,I have 512mb of RAM installed in it, yet it is now showing only 368mb of RAM. Can someone help me figure out if the two things are related and what I'm infected with. Earlier today I noticed a AU_.exe process running but haven't seen it at all this evening. I hope someone can help me make since of all this.

Hi all, I have had this problem for about a week now, but it has gradually worsened.
As the title states, my internet is extremely slow, and I cannot load certain content heavy pages such as fileplanet.com, gamershell.com etc.
My laptop (Xp) is wireless, I have tried direct connection to the router to no avail.
My dad's desktop (Xp) is wired, and also has the same problem.
My mum's laptop (Vista) is wireless but works absolutely fine (posting this off of her's)
I am running Zone Alarm, have done multiple scans with AVG, Ad Aware and Spybot with no improvement.
I've tried using open dns, and flushing my dns.
I've cleaned up my temp files and cache.
I should also mention, downloads are completely fine.
It's JUST the browser.
At one point I had two instances of rundll32.exe active at once, but only one seems to be running now.
In safe mode, guess what! Everything is dandy, so it must be program related, and I'm guessing a problem to do with something within Xp.
I saw on one forum someone reporting that there was an unknown process checked in msconfig and some dlls in the system32 directory with a similar name, upon deletion of them all, the problem was resolved, alas I cannot see anything like this.
After searching ALL over the internet and seeing many people with the same problem, I have found no resolution, someone please help me out!
Anything would be much appreciated, I'm losing it over this one.. hope the info is specific enough for ... Read more

Answer:ALL internet browsers are very slow/cannot load some pages. Very specific problem.

Peerguardian seemed to be blocking most of the access to sites such as fileplanet, and Avg Web Shield was massively slowing down my browser speed.
This does solve the problem but leaves me a bit less secure.

This is a strange problem.
Whenever I turn on my Vista: Home Premium laptop, after everything loads, I open up my browser (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome or Firefox)
I have to wait a minute for the webpage to load...
After that, everything runs smoothly.
I got a window registry software but it didnt fix it.
Antivirus scan shows no virus or spyware or anything.
What could be the cause of this?
It's an annoying problem.

I need a free driver scan and repair software to update my drivers.
I need solutions to fix delay start-ups on IE8 and Firefox and all my installed programs. I have cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned again the registry with Comodo Registry Cleaner, (Free at Tucows.com) optimized the PC with Ashampoo 6 Optimizer and Speed It Up (also free at Tucows.com) and Advanced PC Tweaker, I also have PC Tools Anti-Virus full edition and have all the critical updates for Windows XP Home Edition. I use Windows Defender for a firewall. (seems to work like the others) I read "CPwmIEBrowserHelper Object" was the culprit. I also read I can find it in the "Manage Add-Ons" tab but when I went there, I did not see anything with "Lenovo Inc" nor the "CPwmIEBrowserHelper" Object listed. I am at my wits end on this...and yes I have Uninstalled and Re-Installed the Browser and even formatted the disk, all for nothing because the problem still persists. Can anyone help?

Hi there, please can you help?
I realize this BSOD might be a commonly reported problem but the issues here seem not to have been addressed specifically by other threads so I hope I haven't opened a new thread unnecessarily. Anyhow, here goes...
Various pc problems have arisen since coming home from holiday last week:

Background: 2 months ago: installed samsung SSD to run a new install of Win 7 64bit - on Asus P5NE-SLI with newly installed AHCI controller card. Successful after some troubleshooting; ran fine for several weeks.

PC left for 2 weeks while on holiday: on return a few days ago pc had problems on start-up: blank screen; no/slow start-up then BSOD attached.
The problem now is specifically a start-up issue: very slow to boot windows; if I hit F8 or del then BIOS loads very slowly, if at all; windows loads but freezes part way through. It DOES eventually load but it doesn't seem stable: yesterday the pc restarted unprompted.
The clock time was incorrect by about 20minutes when I got home from holiday (cmos battery?)

So far, I have (in chronological order)...
cleaned out dust, checked for shorts and loose wires
run Prime95 stress tests: seems OK - no crashes; Speed Fan recorded CPU temps of >50C before I closed the program. On idle CPU is now 37C; GPU 47C
memtest run overnight: 7 passes no errors;
updated GPU driver; run Furmark GPU stress test: all fine!
searched for other driver updates - none required (at least through windows)
run Sams... Read more

Answer:Slow start-up; crawls into BIOS setup; then slow to load windows

The problem is with your usb hub, or quite possibly a usb device that is plugged into it.
The fault is clearly sourced in the usb system though.
You may try updating your chipset drivers.
try rebooting with nothing plugged in but mouse and kb.

Hello.

My CPU usage changes sporadically, going from 0% - 6% - 24% - 60%- 100%. And all of my internet browsers are slow. Firefox especially takes a very long time to load pages, whereas Opera is a bit faster (but definitely not fast as it used to be). When my computer starts, 2 system32 CMD windows pops up and disappears. Another thing that pops up at startup is the "Found New Hardware" icon on the task bar and a "found new hardware installation wizard" window, even though I did NOT install any new hardware.

Answer:Sporadic CPU usage, extremely slow browsers, and pop-ups at computer start up

Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your problems are not due to malware. Your logs are clean. I do suggest that your remove the below file to stop this task from trying to run:

C:\WINDOWS\Tasks\Ad-Aware Antivirus Scheduled Scan.job

You do not even have Ad-Aware Antivirus installed per your logs.

Other than that, I suggest that you post in the Software Forum for help and also do the below final cleanup.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Hi,
None of my internet browsers including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, mozilla or the new one that comes with Windows 10 will open or load. Also when I click on my Windows start button it does nothing as well as the dialogue next to it that says I'm Cortana ask me anything. I have run Malwarebytes anti-malware and it has identified 0 threats. I have adware antivirus but it won't run. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

My computer is sometimes very slow to load at start up. I have looked at the start up list in Spy Bot but do not know if some of the items could be unchecked or not. I tried to go into the Start Up list on your site and run autorun and I do get a complete list but do not know what to do with it. Can you tell me how I might determine which programs do not need to load at start up? Is there something else that I might need to do to speed up loading?

Answer:slow to load at start up

Using Autoruns...the typical startup items are listed on the Logon tab.

I suggest only looking at that tab and disabling/unchecking any items that you do not want running at boot.

Of items listed on that tab...only crucial items (AV program, firewall program, Java and Microsoft XP files) should be running at boot. IMO, all other items listed on that tab can safely be unchecked.

Unchecking does not remove anything, it simply prevents the program from running at boot.

Hi everyone,

This has been a problem for a bit, here is what's going on:
1. I start up the computer, everything loads, Skype is up and running within seconds and I can talk to people (internet is working).
2. I click Firefox (or Chrome), the program opens quickly, but no pages will load for the next few minutes even if I keep refreshing.

Once this works itself out, everything will load fine from then on.

This only happens on my Windows 7 computers. They are all 64 bit, but different hardware. It seems like all browsers do the same thing. Drivers and the OS are up to date. Any thoughts?

Answer:Webpages slow to load right after start up.

This is a continuation of a thread on this same subject. I found that what was causing my issue was what is called synchronous boot. To solve this issue open notepad and paste the following into it and then save it as a .reg file. Name it something like ADD.reg Then double click the file you just created.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system]
"SynchronousMachineGroupPolicy"=dword:00000000
"SynchronousUserGroupPolicy"=dword:00000000

Reboot your machine and you should notice an immediate difference. If not simply copy the following into notepad and save as a .reg file, name it something like REMOVE.reg then double click and reboot

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system]

This problem has only started in the past week. Prior to this, the start menu was fine as normal. Now, there is a 2 second delay between my clicking on it and it opening up. Possibly related, previously logging in was a near-instantaneous process (I have a solid state drive for my OS) but now the login process takes a few seconds.
what's happening? Was it an update that did something or broke something? I have Cortana disabled

Answer:Start menu is 2 seconds slow to load

That's not much of a difference. But, you could try running System File Checker to see is that helps.

Answer:Solved: Browsers will not load microsoft website but will load FB, Google etc etc

Either it's a problem server side for them, which would be an issue with your IP,
or a process/service altered some of your core system settings on your end which blocks the microsoft website for some reason....., you can try a different IP address just to make sure it's not server side for them, and then if that doesn't work I am not sure what to tell you other than reinstalling all browsers, and eventually refromatting if reinstalling browsers does not work.

IF it is an IP issue it could be something with your network, if a network admin blocked the microsoft website, or even theoretically your ISP if there was a strange issue with them, however that would be rare.

I don't know what I did, but the LAN connection takes forever to load on start up.

I checked the basics:

sfc /scannow
scanned drive with OS for errors with restart
msconfig>startup runs the bare minimum of programs.
started XP in safe mode + networking, and the connection loads fast

When running in regular mode, LAN connections load painfully slow.

Can anyone direct me where the problem is?

I have been all over the forums, looking for articles similar to my issue. But it appears that most people that are having slow boot ups are experiencing the issue once the Windows GUI starts up, after the Windows Welcome screen.

My issue occurs directly after the initial memory check and SATA Raid function check. Things go smooth through here, then it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor. And there it sits for about 2 minutes. Then the video check occurs, and then another minute or so of nothing. Then finally the Windows GUI starts up and things then load fairly reasonably.

I have checked all of start up programs, closed those that are not that important, still no change. I have used Bootvis.exe with no help in the area that I am having problems with. I have scoured the BIOS settings one by one, and still no change. Full virus scans and malware scans have been done. I have updated to the latest bios from ASUS. Here is the HiJack log for my system. There are entries on it that show programs running that I later tried shutting off, and the problem was still there.

I shut off ZoneAlarm, BOINC manager/ Seti Home, TBCpro, Cacheboost, etc.. But the slow start up still occurs. If I understand it correctly, none of these programs should be affecting the start up prior to the actual Windows GUI starting anyway.

Hi

My computer (Dell Inspiron 530) has become slow to boot up. it takes around 5 to 8 minutes to get up and running. When it gets there it runs great.

When it boots up you get a blank screen for a minute or less, then the Dell Spalsh screen for about 3-4 minutes and then the Windows Xp screen for around 3 minutes.

Using McAFee and no virus, malware etc issues detected. I have maintained computer well and runs absolutely perfectly outside of this slow start up.

Ran the Dell support check and came up with an Error 4COO:021D. The seconds register is not updating. The part may be bad or the 32KHz crystal might not be functioning.

Any ideas what that means and which part or how to fix?

Hello

This is my first post. It is an issue that I have read about on-line but without a solution so I was hoping that someone could assist me via the forum.

I run a custom built desktop: Win 7 Ultimate with a brand new Samsung SSD, ESET Smart Security and Malwarebytes Premium running in tandom. This has been my set up for 4 years or more without concern. Until now...

Yesterday evening I returned from work, turned on my desktop and I ran a threat scan. (Please note that this was the first ever threat scan with rook kit enabled since the installation of the SSD on Monday evening). Almost at the end of the Heuristic (last) part of the threat scan I got a BSOD. I restarted the PC and Malwarebytes failed to load at all at startup (no icon in tray, attempted manual load and nothing).

Prior to this (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday since installation of the new SSD), MWB loaded instantly at start-up, a split-second before my connection status icon came 'on-line' - From Windows welcome screen to all programs loaded it used to take 5 seconds, it now takes around 40 seconds due to Malware Bytes holding everything up.

I uninstalled MWB using the clean.exe then re-installed it. I restarted the PC and MWB loaded this time but very very slowly. My network connection status icon also takes a lot longer to activate. The network connection is almost waiting for MWB to load. I ran another threat scan with rook kit scanning NOT activated and the scan completed f... Read more

Answer:Malware Bytes suddenly very slow to load on start-up - Holding everything up!

A couple years ago I had a similar startup issue with ESET and Malwarebytes and used Winpatrol to delay it's startup. See Tools To Delay Program(s) At Startup. That seemed to work but later I since switched to Emsisoft Anti-Malware and now just manually start Malwarebytes before connecting to the net. Since this set up works well for my system I have left it alone. You can delay Malwarebytes' startup through it's GUI if you are experiencing bootup problems. Launch Malwarebytes, click on Settings > Advanced Settings. There is a check box to Delay Protection at startup for xx number of seconds. You may need to experiment to find which delay time works best for your system.MBAMAntiRootkit is now integrated into the scanner (under Detection Settings) in MBAM v2.0 but it is not enabled by default. If "Scan for rootkits" is enabled, this will add to the length of the average scan time from previous versions and sometimes causes the scanner to stall (hang). If you want a more specific reason for what is going on then the Malwarebytes development team will need to investigate. They recommend you start a new topic in the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help Forum and report the problem there.

I noticed that my Icons seem to be refreshing often and not too nippy... so I searched for a fix... I used the MaxCachedIcons D_WORD 2048 registry hack but since doing so they seem to be even slower? I deleted that reg entry then rebooted and its still the same? just when I view "All Programs" in start menu all the programs listed at top icons are slower to load and I have Admin Tools on star menu too and when I mouse over that they take 1 second each to load, all 14 of them - even if I close it then go straight back

why is this happening?
is there a fix?

My computer was working fine then just the past couple days has been acting WIERD.

So this is what happens, while using the computer, periodically when I go to the start screen and search for something, it just hangs for about 20-60 seconds before responding. Now today, every single time I start the computer, it loads fine gets me to the start screen, but if I type anything for the search then it freezes on me for 20-60seconds. If I start it and immediately go to the desktop, I can run SOME programs like IE or Chrome but NOT Ventrilo or games (for 20-60 seconds). Also, TASK manager will not come up nor do any of the windows 8 "charms" work for that time frame.

I am at a loss, this is a fresh OS install about a month ago on a brand new Samsung 840 SSD. All my drivers are up to date, I didn't have this issue a week ago but I did have a system restore point that I restored my computer to and that didn't fix it.

I also tried the Windows Startup Repair, and it tells me it could not repair it and to check my log at "F:/Window...." whereas I have NO F:/ drive and Windows is obviously installed on my C:/ drive (also, it will not allow me to "refresh" my computer. *I have legit Windows 8 Keys that I purchased

I have tried disabling the fast boot in power options.
I have ran a registry cleaner (ccleaner, I hate running cleaners but it was a desperate measure).
I tried creating a new user account.

The symptom is that it takes a LONG time for the internet connection icon to appear in the tray, until which time I can't access the internet; NOR does firefox run, until the icon appears. So, if I don't wait for the LAN connection to load and just try to run firefox, it will not appear at all, until ten-fifteen minutes later when the the LAN connection finally loads, then firefox opens. It's interesting that firefox doesn't just open immediately when prompted, and say that there is no internet access. It just waits for the LAN connection to load, before it runs, for like 10 minutes. The 10 minute wait is not caused by me trying to run firefox before all services are running, if I don't touch the machine at all until the LAN icon appears I still have to wait 10 minutes. I guess if I was an IT guy, that would be a tell-tale sign of something, but I have no clue.

Also, while XP is trying to establish the LAN connection, the task bar at the bottom of the screen freezes up, but I can open "My Computer" screen using the desktop icon and browse files, listen to music, etc. while the taskbar is frozen for 10 min or so.

That said. The card works, but the connection takes a long time to load up on XP. I've never had this issue before. Can it have something to do with the order services are being loaded?

I've done the following:

ok this is gonna be a bit long but i want the details there. the issue pc is my old pc. it has windows 7 its an asus msn-la motherboard i cloned this drive and used it in my new pc. after a few months my new pc's drive died and i took the old drive from the issue pc(witch was not giving issues at this time) and stuck it into my new pc until my replacement drive came. when i got the replacement drive i cloned the drive again onto the replacement drive and then put the new drive in the new pc had no issues there. put the old drive back into the issue pc (this is when issues started) the pc booted up to the windows desktop loading screen fast but once it got there it sat there for like 5 min before loading into windows. once it loaded into windows it was un usable for around 10 min while it loaded background stuff. once it finally loads into windows if i try to open anything its still responding extremely slow. is there anything i could do to fix this or is this going to me a re install only situation? i did try to use a windows 7 disk to do a startup repair but it claimed i couldn't do it because i dident install from that disk.

Google Chrome has become slow to load and then it is very slow loading web pages and navigating round web sites.
From previous experience I thought this may be due to a virus but Malwarebytes has found nothing.
Can you help please.
Hope this is in the right place-if not please advise.

Answer:Google Chrome slow to load and slow to load web pages

Further info.
Noticed 2 instances of msiexec.exe running in Task Manager.
Googled this and found that if genuine it is part of Windows installer
but can also be a virus.
Did a search and found MSIEXEC.EXE-2F8A8CAE.pf
Googled this and found it is probably Malware.
If so can you help me get rid of it please

Past week i've had really slow internet speeds, I've tried reset my box. No one else is using my router- it's secure. So i ran a malewarebytes scan, had two trojans. But i still believe i've got a virus or two hidden somewhere. The internet generally just stops any loading of the website and just stays on a white screen.

I've always used Firefox and when I turned on my laptop this morning, it shows me the "won't load" page. So I tried IE and it didn't load too. I restarted my laptop 3 times and it still won't load. I've checked my connection, I do have internet connection as I can connect to Yahoo Messenger and AIM.So I went online using my dad's laptop and downloaded other browsers (Netscape, Flock), save the .exe file on a flash disk and installed it on my laptop. It still didn't work.I checked the firewall settings and all browsers are NOT blocked.Help! I really don't know what to do.Thanks!

Answer:HELP: All browsers won't load!

Hold down your [windows key + R] to use the run command shortcut or go to your start menu and click on run.Once you use the short cut or use the run button in the start menu the run command will popup. After you type in "cmd" with out the quotes in the in the command line and click on OK button and the CMD.exe program will open. The DOS window will pop up. At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt type ping www.yourdomainname.com and press enter. You will see some results pass through the screen. It will tell you if there were any packets lost in the transfer (0% loss is what you want to see).It will also tell you the average speed, in milliseconds. To close the DOS window, type exit at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt and press enter. Please tell me the results and this will tell us if you have a internet connection

I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I couldn't figure out a better one, so here goes...

Lately both my desktop and laptop have had problems loading pages in any browser. The problem is somewhat intermittent, and clearing the cache usually helps, but not always. I end up having to clear the caches in all browsers regularly just to get any work done, and sometimes even that doesn't work.

My laptop is running Vista, and my new desktop, Windows 7 (64 bit). I've checked for malware, viruses, and firewall issues on both computers, occasionally finding something and fixing it, but still no resolution to the browsers stalling or refusing to load pages. I get error messages that some pages are not found and others just won't load.

My ISP delivers inconsistent connection speeds, but lately that's gotten a bit steadier, usually hovering around 1 Mbps, with occasional swings up and down. When I've had the loading problem, I've checked the speed, and it seems OK.

Is it possible that this is a router issue? Or is there some other explanation why this seems to be a problem across OS versions and hardware configurations?

Answer:Browsers won't load

Before you do all this could you go to command prompt and type.

ping www.google.co.uk
and see if you get a reply back.

1. What does it say at the bottom of the page when it won't load.

2.Is the lights on your router all green in other words are the lights
on.

3 are you on wireless or dial up if on wireless broadband look on the right handside of the system tray bottom right of the desktop and tell me what
It says about your connection.

I am running Vista Premium 32-bit on a Sony VAIO with 2GB RAM.
Neither Intenet Explorer nor Firefox can get to the Internet.
I can ping anything on my home-network which includes four computers. Moreover, I can resolve DNS like www.yahoo.com and www.google.com by pinging.
I can ping my ISPs gateway/DNS server. I can ping a loopback address.
I have loaded addition features in Control Panel/Turn Windows Features on or off. These relate to HTTP etc.
A route print brings back even the Class A address of the ISP.
I am now at a lost.
Please help

I am using Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit and on switching on this morning Firefox 28 would not load. Task Manager shows the FF process as running but nothing actually happens. The same occurs for IE and Chrome. The browsers load in Safe Mode (where we are now) but I cannot imagine which of my startup programs, which have not changed for months, would suddenly be clashing with browsers today. I have reset my router without effect and I am still able to download e-mail via Mailwasher and Thunderbird. I ran a check with DDS but cannot make out anything from the log.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

IE. Netscape. Firefox. is there one called Opera? You get the message. The reason I ask is to test the website in some, a few, them all? Who knows. How many do you reckon then?Hanx!K.

Answer:How many browsers should I load up?

There is one called Opera, there's also Safari for Mac users and various ones for Linux etc. It's not always feasible to test them all out on your machine, but there's a free website called Browsershotsclick herethat you can put your url in and after about 10 - 45 minutes depending on current load, you'll get screenshots of your website as seen by various mac/windows/linux browsers. It takes a little while but its free. Commercial/paid for variants of this are sitevista click here and browsercam click here - these are obviously quicker than the free site and offer a few more options. Browsercam for example offers Blackberry and other mobile browser options plus VNC remote access that allows you to test interactive elements like rollovers, flashanimations and drop down menus. It has a free 24 hour trial.Hope this helps some.

i noticed a while ago that my internet explorer browser would never be able to connect to sites, but it wasn't a concern because i used firefox and opera. the same thing happened with firefox, but i still had opera so i ignored the issue. when opera 9.10 came out, i downloaded it and installed it, but then my opera stopped loading as well. i can still connect, as my desktop weather widget and p2p programs are still working, but i can't do anything to get my internet browsers to work. i've tried the winsock repair and registry cleaners, but nothing helps. anyone have any experience with this or suggestions? below is my hjt log.

Hey guys. I am not able to load any pages using Firefox or Internet explorer. I have tried resetting my windsock and itp and it still won't work. I've also tried deleting any 3rd party firewalls I had but that didn't work either. I just got this laptop a week ago too so ya. Any help you can give me I would really appreciate. Thanks

Answer:My Internet browsers won't load anything

Ok, need a bit more info. Are you able to load with any other browser?

Are you wirelessly or physically connected. If you are physically connected to a router, check your IP address of your system and see if you have one assigned. It will usually be a 192.168.1.x. If it is anything else, your aren't connected. Check your cable.

If it's wireless, have you gone through the connection steps to connect to your wireless router?

Some system specs would help too.

I recently purchased a new computer. Its a Dell 3000, Windows XP, 1 gig RAM... For the past few days when I'm online images don't always load. It's random after each refresh the problem either gets better or worse. It happens to any image or icon. I use firefox 1.0.7 so I tried IE, still the same problem. I'm out of guesses. I have McAffe Security Center installed with Antivirus, Privacy Service and Firewall. I tried disabling it by closing it out and the problem still exists. Please someone help. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Images Won't Load in Browsers

Problem is "I have McAffe Security Center installed with Antivirus, Privacy Service and Firewall." It will block images from sites unless they are on your safe list - either change the settings - or better yet - unistall it and go with better - less inasive - not to mention free programs to meet your needs.

i.e. AVG for anti-virus www.grisoft.com

Hi everyone,

I spent an entire day browsing thru other topics with the same problem and I tried all the solutions that were listed, but to no avail - using win 8.1, certain sites just will not load in any browsers (tried Firefox, Opera, Chrome, IE) on my desktop pc. Usually they get stuck at "connecting to.. (site)" and then time out and once in a while (in about once every 50 timeouts) result an xml parsing error ("unexpected parser state")

Examples of the sites that won't load:
answers.microsoft.com
videos on vimeo.com
any of the podcasts from The YoGPoD
avast.com

Some clues that might help finding the problem:
-It's probably not the router or the ISP since all the other devices (a laptop and a tablet with win8.1 and an android phone) load the same sites without any problems, even if I connect the laptop via the same ethernet cable to the router
-I'm able to load the sites via proxy
-The sites won't load in windows safe mode or firefox safe mode either

A list of things that I tried but didn't work:
-full system scan with multiple antivirus and anti-malware programs, and then disabling all the firewall and antivirus protection
-updating drivers
-changing the MTU size
-ipconfig release, dns flush and winsock reset in the command line
-using Google's public dns (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) and opendns
-creating a new windows user account
-restarting the router, updating the firmware, changing the ethernet cable
-disabling IPv6

I'm getting really desperate and an... Read more

Starting today, neither of my browsers, IE6 of Firefox 3.0.3 (the default) will load. There must something in common with both, since they were both affected at the same time. Worked fine yesterday. I ran some Spybot and AdAware before shutting down. Today, after booting up, FF started loading, then just sat there with the progress bar stopped halfway and the loading circle stopped. Had to shut down the FF process with the three finger salute. Tried IE6 and it comes up with the error and apology that it needs to shut down (no way of sending an error report since the browser won't open.)

I've spend an entire day scouring the web for a solution but can't come up with one. One MS support document suggested running sfc /scannow-- to no avail. Then I tried reinstalling IE6 from the orig. SP2 disk by running %systemroot%\inf, and right clicking install from disk ie.inf in the windows\inf.folder according to directions.

Tried a lot of other things to, to no avail. Fortunately, everything else including my Eudora email client works fine. I have a live internet connection. The computer can ping sites download various software updates as long as they don't need a web browser to do so.

Since both my browsers are dysfunctional, there must be a common or shared registry entry, file or dll that got corrupted. (This is being written on a different computer--both identical Dell Dimension 9100s w/ 4 GB ram and 260 HDs.

Thanks, my Firefox 3.0.3 issue is now resolved. However, I still cannot figure out why IE 6 will not work anymore. Unfortunately, some municipal sites require IE in order to function properly, even though IE 6 is a piece of junk.

What the hell happened to make it stop working I wonder. No big loss, except every on in a while, FF is not recognized, as in some town GIS sites--hope that will change...

I use http://www.retailmenot.com 3 or 4 times a day (go on it now, i bet it's working for you -_-)

A couple of days ago i tried loading it up, and it simply doesn't work!

I get the following error is IE:

And in firefox, simply a blank screen:
As i said, it's the ONLY website that wont work, and was fine until a few days ago. BUT, theres a few strange happenings;

Firstly, on the second day of it not working, it managed to connect for about an hour, but when i came back to it later that evening it would not work again (i had not done anything differently, simply typed it into the url)

Secondly, I can access it from anywhere apart from my house! Both my home computer and laptop will not connect, whereas at school/work/friends it will!

I have searched for days for a remedy, nothing i have tried has worked!

Hi,
I am using Windows 7 Home and recently have run into a problem with my browsers, Firefox, IE, and Chrome. I am connected to the internet however the browsers only respond within the first 20 or so minutes of a restart, then become unresponsive. Furthermore Firefox seems to be a victim of a redirect problem with google. I have used mbam but no fix. Spybot has revealed no infections and I'm not sure what to do with my Hijack this log. I also tried to renew my ip address but no fix either.

Other computers can use the internet just fine.

SOS!

Am I helpless?

Hi all i am new to this forum
I just formatted my windows 7 a month ago and re-installed it . Few weeks ago i changed my modem to Netgear N150 modem + router . After that Most of the websites don't load . Eg : Facebook , yahoo , ms support , etc . I was scanning for any malware or virus but i didn't find any . And i hardly installed software in my computer . Even this forums is not loaded fully . My connection is really bad its oly 512kbps connection but most of the websites load in >10secs but now a days in any browser they are not loading at all. Not loading in the sense they are loaded half or not at all . Otherwise the loading thing is going on and on . It never ends. I checked my connection speed with speeedtest.net and got 524kbps which is my speed . When i download things i get the correct downspeed which i used to get early . But now most of the website are not loaded . I have norton and malwarebytes installed scanned the computer like ten times now . I first taut that dey both wer blocking web traffic and so i shut them down and i didn't find any improvements :'(
Please help me out guys . If you can TV me and check my routers it would be great

Answer:Some pages do not load in any of the browsers

This happened with a Netgear router I set up for a friend. He uses some kind of real estate software that accesses the internet to generate maps and randomly one day it began failing to connect. I spent hours looking at the computer's firewall and checking the program's settings before I realized it was the router. Something got changed with respect to the traffic it allows.

Were you recently changing any router settings such as the firewall? I can't remember what the exact setting was but I can look into it and see what I changed.

Hello..I was originally using Mozilla Firefox until one day it stopped working..which by that i mean that the browser itself would open and load as normal but the spot that says "New tab" or whatever site youre at, would just say "blank page" and stay that way indefinitely..so I installed google Chrome after giving up on Firefox.. until today when it basically did the same thing (out of nowhere, just like last time)..the browser loads but no page will load AT ALL! And same with internet explorer! the only way I am even on and typing this is that IE 64 bit DOES work..but i can't leave it this way and use 64 bit regularly because it simply will not use or download flash, so NO games or movies are possible..which is just not barable to me! I dont know what to do..i've uninstalled and reinstalled, unplugged router and reset it, restored the internet options through control panel..i am out of ideas and i dont know what has even caused this, much less what to do to resolve this! But i just can't deal with the current state of things! ANY HELP is appreciated! thanks!!

Answer:None of my browsers will load pages!

In Firefox, click Tools > Options... > General > Advanced > Network > Settings > delete proxy settings > select No proxy > click OK.

If that works,

Please click HERE to download and install HijackThis.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile from the Main Menu.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

My first thought would be a malware attack. Using your working browser download Malwarebytes (the free version) - update it and then run in safe mode. Remove anything it finds. Available from click here

I've been searching for a week now and still haven't found a solution to my problem.. I'm beyond frustrated So here's my issue..About a week ago, my internet went down in the area.  I didn't realize it was the whole area at first, I though it was just something wrong with our household internet so I unplugged and plugged our router back in [which has always worked before when we had an issue in the house] but no luck.  My PS3 was telling me it was a DNS error so I went to my router configuration and reset all the settings.  Keep in mind I really don't know too much about all this stuff so I just try things I know how to do and see if it works, hahaSo the next morning, I found out the internet was down in our area.  That afternoon it was working again but I still couldn't connect so my brother unplugged, and plugged the modem back in and voila!  it worked again.Only problem was that half of my browsers would not load pages.  IE worked, and so did Firefox.. but Flock and Opera would not connect.  It was telling me it couldn't connect to remote server.  I tried to install the beta of google chrome, but it said it couldn't connect to the internet to install it.  And I downloaded the Windows version of Safari.. not loading any pagesI've searched google endlessly and done everything that people have said would work, and still nothing.  Last night I updated Firefox, which was working.... None of the browsers (IE, Chrome or FF) on my PC will load webpages following the installation of SP3 on Windows XP.

I can ping sites and also my email still works (not webmail).

I have a wireless router and all others PC's using the same router can view webpages so it looks like it is a problem on the PC that is preventing the loading of webpages.

I tried uninstalling the wireless adaptor and reinstalling but that made no difference.

I had a malware problem about a week ago but that was cleaned with the help of the experts on this website. I then proceeded to install SP3 the other day and since then I can't get webpages to load.

Hi, For the past few weeks my browsers (IE and FF) do not load certain websites. (e.g. depositfiles.com) the URL indicates the website, but the page remains blank. However, the site is visible in google cache. I ran Kaspersky, MAlwarebytes and Combofix. None of them indicate malicious items. I have included related logs below. Any help is appreciated. Well this is how it started...

My computer was infected with something and I decided to do a full recovery on it. As I tried to do a full recovery, something went wrong. And when it restarted, I got the message that I was missing a "hal.dll" file of some sort. I didn't know what to do so I decided to use my HP mini CD which is the Windows XP operating system and tried to install it on my Emachines computer.

Now when it starts, it gives me two options of which operating system I want to use. My first question is:

Is there a way I can recover the old factory settings of the Emachines and the pre-installed Windows it had on there?

And now lately, my computer has been running slow, specifically the browsers. It will freeze for at least 15 minutes or so depending on the content of the page until it is fully loaded.

Am I infected? And can I fix this?

Answer:My browsers take awhile to load...

What antivirus did you use now? Do you already perform antivirus scan?

Hi guys, hoping someone can help, I bought a new laptop about a month ago and it's worked fine, I installed google chrome because I find it the best browser and that has been fine, I was downloading something the other day and I ended up with another browser on my desktop called torch, I'd never heard of it so I loaded it up and since I did that google chrome stopped working, so I tried loading up my Internet explorer but that never loaded anything either, so I then uninstalled torch completely but chrome still didn't work and then tried to uninstall google chrome but the computer won't let me stating that I need to close all google chrome tabs including in windows 8 mode and try again.I'm so stuck and have no Internet at all because my browsers won't open,
Can anyone help please
Thanks in advance

Answer:None of my browsers will load the Internet

Try a system restore. Choose the restore point that should have been made right before torch installed. If not, choose one farther back, but only go back as far as needed. You want to choose the closest one right before installing the program.

You can get there by typing system restore in Windows 8 search bar.

This problem started just last night, where no forms of media (audio, video, or even ads!) will load on any site. I use Google Chrome, but the problem still persists on Internet Explorer. When trying to load a video on Youtube, the page will do one of two things. The most common is the video will not load at all and only show a black box, then I will get a popup notification that the Flash Shockwave Plugin has stopped working, and if I have it stop the plugin the tab crashes completely. Sometimes the video will load for ~1/8-3/4 of the way though but not play. It will show a still of the first frame of the video, and I can skip through the video, but it will only ever show stills. Dailymotion also crashes, and Pandora tries to load songs but just keeps skipping through them. I also cannot access any of the Yahoo! pages, save for the mail which loads up fairly well. I also tried loading up a video on Hulu, which worked for a few seconds then froze.

It may also be related that my audio mixer isn't working either and I can't get any sounds to play at all, but I have always had minor issues with it freezing up so it may be nothing.

I have restarted my computer, reinstalled both Chrome and Adobe Flash, and checked for all updates. I have also looked for conflicting software to Chrome in the browser and shut down all other programs to see if any of them was just slowing the computer down too much.

Any help would be much appreciated, I am just stumped on what to do

A few hours ago my browsers(I.E and Firefox) stopped loading any sites. I've ran 2 Virus scanners(Trend Micro Online Scanner, The Cleaner) and Ad-Aware. Now my browsers just randomly started opening a few sites including this one, but still majority of the sites such as even google and gmail won't open. Someone on IRC told me maybe my DNS is down but he logged off before giving me more details. In addition, I can't even update my definitions for ad-aware because it can't connect to its server. Anyone have a solution?

Hello all,
My computer has recently become infected. I've scanned with Malwarebyte's Antimalware, Norton Internet Security, and SuperAntiSpyware. Norton didn't show any results, but Antimalware and Superantispyware both removed a decent amount of items, however I do not think my computer is entirely clean. Whenever I open Firefox, if it even opens, all of my google searches get redirected to different sites. The only site I remember being directed to was zanuga.com, but there were others. This also happens on IE8. I've tried opening Firefox in safemode, and I get the same redirects. I've posted my HiJack This log below.

Oh, and also, I've noticed the creation of HelpAssistant and HelpAssistant.desktop folders in my Documents and Settings directory.

Happy Holidays,

Good evening,

I've been having issues with all browsers since a recent re-install of Win 7 Ultimate.

I've never had browsing issues before, and recently installed a new MB & RAM because my adoring nephew decided he wanted to 'fix' my front panel USB sockets with a screwdriver. Bless his cotton socks, and he's still alive but managed to fry everything else.

Since my install I've painstakingly re-installed everything from before and sat through a couple of years worth of updates, yet my browsing capability is no where near what it used to be.

All graphics, videos, Ads, particularly in Face Book, BBC iPlayer, You Tube and miniclip are very slow to load - even general web page load up take 6-10 seconds to fill all the page images.

I've run countless AV's, Spybot, Stopzilla in standard and safe mode - installed firefox tweaks to load pages quicker, checked to make sure my drivers are up to date, but no avail.

Please could I call upon your expertise to help me return my browsing enjoyment back to normality?

Thanks & Best Regards,
Chris

HI, Im new to the forums here.

Anyway, I have been having a problem with my internet since yesterday. It will not load certain pages, and random pages - I can google something and then 50% of the links I click on wont load- It will say
"The connection has timed out The server at www.hotmail.com is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I have tried IE & Firefox- with no luck, also when I do get things to load it is a lot slower than I am used to. I download and I am running MBAM full scan, it has been going for an hour and a half and has not found a single thing yet.

My PC is only about 2months old, if that, and has windows 7 and Norton internet security...

If anyone can possibly help me out or at least tell me where to start I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance! -B.

Basically I had a malware infection on my Windows 7 laptop which I removed with malware bytes. After that though my internet browsers wont load anything but my steam friends list still loads and I can still play games online. So I did a full scan with MSE and found some virus called "browsermodifier" so I deleted that but still no internet. I've tried opening up the cmd and running the commands to reset my IP and flush dns etc none of that worked. I can't get a ping on Google but I can get one on my home IP so the internet driver is working. I've tried running FSS but my internet services are all fine. I've tried going into internet options LAN settings and making sure the proxy setting isn't ticked. No matter how much I Google this on my phone none of the solutions work!!
Please can anyone help me?

Kept ignoring prompts to upgrade to 8.1. Finally went ahead and did it and now neither IE or Chrome will load web pages. The programs themselves open but nothing happens. Not even a "can't load page" message. I am connected to the internet and I tried a few apps that seemed to work as normal. I've found this question online and followed a few instructions that didn't work. One worked for a minute but it went back. I'm not super tech savvy so I don't even know what it did, just followed some command prompts. I contacted Samsung support and they had me turn off IE under "turn windows features on or off" and turn it back on. It worked. For about two minutes. Now nothing again. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there,

Try flushing the DNS and see if that would help. Open up the command prompt and type in the following command = "ipconfig /flushdns". Once the DNS is flushed, reboot your computer and then try accessing the site once again.

Also, try accessing the site from another computer and see if the site works on another computer.

Hi
I have Windows XP sp3 Dell Inspiron 1501 and I notice that any web browser I use takes ages to load and when it does, it soon becomes unresponsive. I use Chrome, IE8 and sometimes Firefox. IE8 still becomes unresponsive even with add-ons disabled. This is what I have done so far:

Disk Frag
Search for disk errors
IOBIT tuneup
CHKDSK in safe mode
Ran Virus anti-spyware
Ran Malwarebytes

All come back clean. It's only the web browsers this happens on, rest is fine.
Anymore pointers, would be most welcome.

Hi Guys,

I have an issue where every web browser (IE, Chrome and Firefox) takes about 60 seconds to load. The issue only appears to be when loading for the first time.

I have windows 7 premium 64 bit SP1

I am pretty sure I don't have any AdWare, I have already ran AdwCleaner, Rkill, Microsoft security essentials. I also run Ccleaner on a regular basis.

Someone also recommended that I disable hardware acceleration but this didn't help.

Please let me know if you need any more details.

Thanks
Jim

Answer:All browsers taking ages to load

How many addons do you have ? You can also run Zemana Antimalware or Malwarebytes if you haven't already just to make sure that isn't malware related issue.

Hello everyone, im new here. I have a problem with my new laptop i have recently bought. Dell Inspiron 7537 15inch OS 8.1 (after upgrade from 8.0) 16gb RAM, Samsung SSD SM 841 256gb. Lets go to the point - When i try to load a page, usually i have to refresh that page, because i get an error like "No connection" or sometimes it loads only HTML code. I saw many threads regarding that but non of them had helped me. Its happening with all browsers i have: IE, CHROME, MOZZILA.
Things i have done:
I installed a malware anrivirus, and performed a cleanup.
I disabled all "Startup" features from Task manager.
I started the laptop in Safe mode with netword - it didnt help.
I updated the WiFi drivers, from intel's website.
I reinstalled the browsers, and cleaned all ( history, cache, cookies, etc ).

Im getting out of ideas and im a bit worried.
I've mentioned the model of the laptop because i saw that many users from Dell and Samsung were claiming about same issue. I didnt notice if the browsers were working fine in OS 8 because i updated it immediately. I think a software or other is corrupting the connection. I have a phone and other laptop, and they are working fine with my home WiFi.

Hi guys,

I couldn't figure out how to fix this by myself, so I need to post this annoying problem in here. Most images couldn't load properly in some websites, i.e Tumblr. I tried all different browsers, they are acting the same.

I tried clearing all caches, cookies, etc in all browsers with CCleaner, scanned my computer with Avast! and Malwarebytes, restarted my computer, disabled adblock extensions.. and still the same, it didn't fix successfully.

Anyone know why are they acting like this, and tell me how to fix it, please?

Answer:Images do not load properly in all browsers

I have had this problem before and then i installed java and that fixed my problem, but Java still messed up and I had to go into the internet options disable it and then re-enable it

I have a dell computer, windows xp, use bellsouth internet, and i have mozilla firefox, internet explorer, and google chrome. For some reason, starting two days ago, certain sites, or parts of sites refused to load. These websites are accessible on other computers. One website is veoh.com. If i were to transfer from any other website, say yahoo.com, to veoh.com, when i click to go there the web browser borders change to the site but the main page still stays on yahoo.com, looks like it is continuing to load. Only certain sites are affected, such as veoh, My Ebay on ebay.com. Also my brother's profile on his computer is unable to use the internet at all, with the page stuck on a blank endless load. I use avg and avast antivirus. please help fix this problem, or direct me to a proxy site where veoh can work.

Answer:Problem: Certain pages won't load on my web browsers

welcome to the forum

first of all you shouldnt have more then one antivirus:

Here is a quote from an article:

Now, one piece of advice that applies equally to AVs and firewalls. You only need one of each! Having more than one firewall and AV can cause possible conflicts and system instability. Although you may think you have more protection by having more than one of each, it could cause you problems you were not expecting.

So please if you have more than one Antivirus or Firewall choose the one you want to keep and use and uninstall the rest.

do you have this problem in all browsers or just 1e

My laptop is behaving strangely and not connecting to many websites, except in safe mode. This happens with Firefox 38.0.5 and with chrome and ie. For instance :
Secure connection failed The connection to mail.google.com was interrupted while the page was loading. The page... cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Or
Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.bthomehub.home (this is my router)
Or
The connection was reset
Can anyone help?

Last night the web browsers on my computer suddenly stopped loading any pages. Instead they either display "waiting" (firefox) or no connection (IE). Since then I've run Spybot SD, Ad-Aware, and AVG. All programs had the latest updates. I've also reset the winsock and TCP/IP setting. Occasionally when I restart the computer webpages will load, but only for 30 seconds or so. Https pages appear to work fine, as does AIM.

I'm pretty much stuck here and it's frustrating me to no end

Issue:
There is one specific website that will not completely load for me in Firefox, and will not load at all in Chrome, but will load and function perfectly fine in the other browsers on my system.
It behaves the same way on my wife's computer, and the site has never been visited on that computer until I started troubleshooting this issue - so it's not a case of bad cookies or other cache problems.
I've asked friends and family to try the site and they say it's fine!

The website is www.55productionz.com.

Symptoms:
When I go there in Firefox (both 3.x and 4 beta), only half or less of the page will load, and the site is basically unusable because I can't log in or view much of anything.
When I go there in Chrome, I get this error:
This webpage is not available

The webpage at http://www.55productionz.com/forum/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Error 346 (net::ERR_RESPONSE_HEADERS_MULTIPLE_CONTENT_LENGTH): Unknown error.Click to expand...

But Internet Explorer and Safari have no problems with the website at all.

Hi having real problem with my wife's computer here. Google search page wont even load. My laptop is fine but hers is terrible. We both use wifi and no problems until the other day when I removed a hijacker for her and then defragged. I just noticed "configfree" in her toolbar next to her wifi icon and did some research on that and many said its a pain in the arse so I removed it. But still no luck. Any suggestions would be cool.

Answer:Blasted Browsers wont load!

Hi Belcant2 and welcome to BleepingComputer!  Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message. Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As AdministratorClick on the Scan button.AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete. After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report). The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool. Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save ... Read more

So my computer has been running fine for a while and then yesterday Firefox stopped loading pages mid-session. The internet is still connected (programs can get online without a browser) but trying to load any page within Firefox or IE will just result in a never ending load (it doesn't even time out). The browsers will work in safemode however.

Any ideas?

Answer:Internet Connected but Browsers Won't Load

how are you connected via a modem or through an office internet connection? Try check your ip address settings, the gateway IP?
Check your LAN cable is it properly connected, try also to ping your Internet Service Providers router if you will get a reply.
I reckon its your IP address settings.

Hello,

I need help trying to figure out why all three of my web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Fire Fox, and Internet Explorer) will not load certain content on the same website.

Here's the thing, I home school my daughter and there's a particular website that I have to log into to view the curriculum. Well yesterday I went to log in and I was not able to access any of the course information on my personal laptop. I called tech support through the school but they are not able to help me but to liability issues because it is my personal computer. My daughter has a laptop that the school provided and she is not having the same issue. That's how I know it is my pc. I asked tech support can they give me an idea what it may be and he said since I am having the same problem on all my web browser that most likely it is an issus with java. I updated my java to see if that will work and it didn't. I tried to access the information on the webpage again today and still the same problem.

I can't remember doing anything new to my computer so I am not sure where to pinpoint the problem. When I log into the school web page the content that won't load just gives an error message saying "error loading content."

My operating system is windows xp and I am not sure what other information you may need. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Taahirah

Answer:All my web browsers will not load certain content on the same web page.

Try completely uninstalling Java through add or remove programs. Then re-install and reboot, see if this fixes your problem. I've no idea if it will work, but it's definitely worth a shot. Also, try downloading Ccleaner. (Google is your friend). Run it, and try to view the webpage again.
