Preferred Solution: [SOLVED] Google Chrome/Password save

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: [SOLVED] Google Chrome/Password save

Hi

I frequently use i a website called https://www.lectio.dk/lectio/133/forside.aspx. It is a website where i can see what lessons i have the next 2 days and see my homework and such. To get acces to the information i need a login, which i easily can remember. The problem is that i would prefer just to be able to click login when i come to the website, but it does not ask to save username and password

I have checked if the website is listed in the "never save"-list in options, and it is not there. I have never been asked to save the username and password.

PS. the website is in Danish.

Answer:Google Chrome not asking to save password

Go to the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" button, which looks like a wrench (on the right hand side of the window)> Options > on the left hand side click on Personal Stuff and click on offer to save Password. Let me know if this helps :)

Okay the problem is peculiar.
I had chrome for long in my ol ubuntu installation. And that time it worked fine. Lastnight I reinstalled ubuntu freshly, so I had to download and install chrome (the current stable version from their site). Now this new chrome is asking to save password for every websites, except their own i.e. Google accounts.

Last time I also had this same version of chrome but the difference was that i got that version through updates starting from a lower version, so my all settings was saved. Now this new chrome is fresh and not offering to save passwords.

And at an ultimate bad moment, I deleted that lower version .deb package mistakenly '-.- Now all I have this new chrome.

Answer:Chrome not asking to save password.

Open Chrome, go to Settings and click the blue 'Show Advanced Settings' link at the bottom of the page.

In the Passwords & Forms section, remove the tick from the 'Offer to save passwords' box.

I've got "Offer to save passwords" checked and it works generally, but there are some sites where that offer has not been made and I have to enter a password manually every time. I guess this is something the site can control, but is there no way I can take command of the process and make Chrome save and cough up the password?

Answer:Forcing save of password in Chrome

Go to , Setting, then Advanced Settings, and see if, Enable Autofill and Offer to Save Passwords are both checked.

Ever since Thursday, April 6, a problem has been occurring with google chrome where I have to re-log into facebook, reddit, youtube every time I close google chrome. I tried to resync my account but it didn't help much since when I open google chrome again it asks me to resync it. Basically any info past April 6 will not save or auto-log. The best hint for the problem I can find is that I configured about all my files on Local Disk>Users>[NAME] when I tried to find my appdata file when trying to get more FPS on a game (LINK: Fast forward to 9:26). So I went to the properties folder and accidentally checked the hidden button and unchecked the read all. And since that hid the Appdata folder (which was there before but I just didn't look carefully), I re-applied the read-only for all the files which might have messed up a few files. I tried to fix this by re-downloaded google chrome but didn't have much luck. I should mention that what I did corrupted the files for firefox but all my other games are fine. I ended up using a USB drive to get the installation for chrome. After downloading Chrome again the problem still persisted.

Answer:How to get rid of Save On extension on Google Chrome

Hello,
Before we start please read and note the following:
Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
Do not paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work easier. There is a Upload a File button which you can use to attach your reports. Attach all reports.
Stay with me to the end, the absence of symptoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.

This is so frustrating. I've never install any antivirus in my life but I've been very careful with files I dowload over the internet so I've never have any problem. This is the first time I face this kind of problem.

Basically I have a go save extension on google chrome which keep on appearing even if I delete them through extension page as well as through remove program. And it seems after few weeks I have 3 extensions that keep on appearing after I delete them.

I have done the FRST scan and upload them here

Hello,

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your desktop.
Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
Follow the prompts and click Scan.
When finished, please click Clean.

Please include the contents of that file in your reply.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable. Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!
Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
Press the Fix button just once and wait.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Is it still safe to save your passwords on Google Chrome? I actually find it convenient coz I don't have to type in the log in details especially that most of my passwords are alphanumeric and quite hard to remember. However, I don't think this will still be a good option for business software, apps and website accts especially that hackers are everywhere now. What could be an ideal and safe option for storing all your log in details? Thanks.

Answer:Google Chrome Auto Save Pw, Is It Safe?

This is a SOFTWARE issue.
There is no real difference, in security, when saving passwords and logins in Chrome or Firefox or any other mainstream web browser.
You can use a separate Password Manager.

Data Saver for Chrome

Reduces data usage by using Google servers to optimize pages you visit.

??By enabling this extension, Chrome will use Google servers to compress pages that you visit before downloading them. Pages accessed using private connections (HTTPS) or in incognito tabs will not be optimised or seen by Google.

Get more visibility into your data usage by clicking on ?Details? to see how much data is used by the sites that you visit. This might help you make more informed decisions regarding your usage based on the type of connection you are using.

??You can also enable Data Saver on Mobile Chrome on Android from the Settings menu.

??Find out more about Chrome?s Data Saver at Use less data with Chrome?s Data Saver - Chrome Help
Safe Browsing with Data Saver
On Android and iOS, when Data Saver is enabled, Chrome uses Safe Browsing technology to protect you from malware and phishing attacks. Chrome will warn you if you're about to visit a dangerous site.

Answer:Data Saver for Google Chrome - Save Bandwidth

Update: Data Saver is now out of Beta and available on Chrome Web Store.

After using this extension for a week, I saved 80 MB of data from 400 MB total of HTTP browsing. Remember Incognito and HTTPS secure connections are excluded.

I recommend this for limited bandwidth data plans.

I don't see what the favicon file has to do with google search inputs.

Eliminated a bunch of cookies, history..etc. Refreshed and many apps such as bittorrent, iTunes, real downloader and others were eliminated thru process. I DID receive a list of "removed apps" (very nice) and continued to re-install newly. Google chrome was RE-enabled after I suffered many difficulties , unable to use it as browser after somehow I deleted it. ONE issue, Google chrome browser does NOT allow me to 'save as' posts off of FB as JPEG. Only as chromefile. No serious issue as I use EXplorer for FB. Any comments? I work off of desktop, even though compu has windows 8. Don't like working thru tiles due to presentation page lay out.

As the topic says, windows had a forced reboot approx a week ago, and after the restart my Google Chrome changed fonts and the save window looks like it's from Windows 98.  Also when you start up chrome there looks like a box covering the tabs, minimize, maximize, and close buttons.  Once you highlight the covered items the box goes away.

I've tried running many cleaners, Malwarebytes, Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, tdsskiller, hitman pro, roguekiller, iexplore, adwcleaner, and ccleaner.  Also I have spywareblaster installed as well. All were run both in regular, and safe modes with and without networking.  Nothing major was found.  I even tried uninstalling chrome completely and wiping the registry keys and such from the system and fully putting in a clean install, but it's still there.  I've tried using firefox and internet explorer to see if they look off too and they don't.  I'll attach a photo comparing chrome, internet explorer, and firefox save windows.

Therefore I need the help of you guys and gals who know more about registry keys and such than I do.

-Kevin

Has anybody noticed a small key icon which has appeared in the address bar in the chrome browser? It is a link which opens the password manager.
It is a new addition which was not there before and there does not seem to be anyway of removing it.
Anybody come across this?

It's new.

Hello,
Chrome browser stores my passwords in the "Password manager". However, some sites ask me annually or half-annually to change the password. But it is not replaced in the "Password Manager", it keeps the old password, and when I try to open that site, the old password is embedded, have to change it manually. Chrome does not open a pop-up window asking if to save the password, as it has one saved.
In the "Password Manager" cannot do any editing.
Answers will be appreciated.
Thanks
Motim

Answer:Password Manager in Google Chrome

I believe you must delete the saved password and then chrome should ask to save the new password the next time you log in.

Or set chrome to never save passwords and use a better password manager like LastPass.

** Password Alert requires that passwords have at least eight characters.

Password Alert helps protect against phishing attacks.
If you enter your Gmail or Google for Work password into anywhere other than accounts.google.com, you?ll receive an alert, so you can change your password if needed.

Password Alert also tries to detect fake Google sign-in pages to alert you before you?ve typed in your password. To do so, Password Alert checks the HTML of each page you visit to see if it?s impersonating a Google sign-in page.

Google Chrome, just like any other modern web browser, offers to store passwords that you enter while using it to improve future access to websites or services on the Internet.

Instead of having to enter the username and password manually each time you delete cookies or sign out, you can use features provided by the browser to fill out the values automatically for you.

That's very comfortable and used by many, especially since it is a feature that is set to on by default.

Unlike Firefox, Chrome did not offer any protection whatsoever for stored usernames and passwords in the browser. Some users saw this as a blatant security risks, while others and Google were quick to point out that local system access was needed to access the data.

There are obviously situations where you may allow someone to access your computer, be it child, friend or business colleague. The chance that they may access the storage may be slim, especially if you are nearby, but it is definitely possible that someone with enough knowledge of Chrome would quickly use an opportunity to look up passwords in the browser.Click to expand...

I use Windows 7 Home (64 bit). When I first started using Google Chrome and I logged on to various sites a question would pop up at the top of the page asking me if I wanted to save this log in. I normally clicked yes.
This question has stopped appearing and only some of the web sites auto log in.
Can anyone please tell me how to get this facility back.
Thank you.

Hi all - so I am using vista home premium 64 bit.

I am having a strange problem that happens:
When I try to print though firefox, the select printer window comes up and works fine. When I try to print though IE 8 or Chrome, a box pops up and says that the operation has failed. This is happening right when I click File - Print, before I even see the print window with different printers, etc. I have all updates installed and using the latest version of chrome. What could this be?

Also I feel like this other problenm could be part of it. I cannot get any 'save or open path' windows to show up. When I try to add an attachment in gmail, the window to choose that attachment never comes. This happens in IE, firefox, and chrome. This also happens for example when running the CCleaner registry scanner within Vista and trying to save the backup of the registry, nothing comes up asking where to save, therfore I can't save it. This happens in everything (trying to upload pictures, etc.)

Nothing changes when running in safe mode.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks everyone

Answer:[SOLVED] Vista cant print from IE/chrome and no pop up save windows

Looking at combination of problems, did you possibly use CCleaner to clean registry. If so, maybe needed files are gone. Try System Restore to time prior to "cleaning". If you didn't please check back.

My computer was running slow so I went to my task manager and seen a whole bunch of Google Chrome processes running. I was confused at first because I don't even have Google Chrome installed. As I tried to stop the processes one at a time, more only popped up. Then I looked it up on the net, found others yall have helped on this site, and know there's something wrong. If possible, would like to know how and when the malware was installed as I have multiple students that use the pc and this is the first time ever had this happen, would like to know if it was a user doing something wrong by accident or on purpose (is even possible to know, but mainly would like to just get pc fixed!)

I right clicked and Disabled Antivirus AutoDetect (Norton); Downloaded zoek and have result log attached. Required a pc reboot and did that too. Problem is still happening. It also changed my home page to google.com (I changed it back). I also uploaded a picture of my task manager if that helps any.

Thanks!!!

Hello,

I'm trying to repair my parents computer. They were getting Trojan horse warning messages and crashing to blue screens. So far I have updated the BIOS and uninstalled all the browser addons and questionable apps I found on there PC. Since updating the BIOS it hasn't crashed to blue screen. However I'm getting a lot of lywqyjla.exe processes that say they belong to Google Chrome. I uninstalled Google Chrome and they are still there. Each of them is using varying amounts of memory and the CPU usage keeps spiking. I have run malware bytes and adw cleaner, each of them said they found and removed threats but these processes keep showing up.

Run a scan using RKill. Read its description as to what it does. Once you have successfully run the scan, DO NOT reboot.
Proceed with the other scans. Reboot if the MBAM or other scans ask you to.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here
Double-click mbam-setup-2.X.X.XXXX.exe to install the application (X's are the current version number).

Once MBAM opens, when it says Your databases are out of date, click the Fix Now button.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to set IE so that it automatically saves the username and password without it promting all the time??

Thanx

hoopy

Answer:Solved: IE Promting to save username and password

try this : got to your control panel then internet options, on that screen go to the connections tab, in here click on the settings button (its right under remove) on this screen you will see some little boxes that should all be unchecked and a username/password/domain blank make sure your username is there and type your password in if its not there and leave domain blank, then click ok and ok again then close your control panel and restart your PC, then when your connection box comes up for you to connect make sure the remember password box has a check mark and then retype your password in the box as well, then hit connect and it should save.

P.S.
If your using winME then contact your manufacturer cause its a program setting where it is checked to remember but it doesnt, i think you have to reinstall DUN for that.

Hello!

A small problem - but hey!

Using windowsxp and ie6. Newish computer that I haven't fiddled with much!

A few weeks ago, the dial up box started remembering my dial up password incorrectly. I noticed there were too many digits saved in the box ( the large round dots). If I delete and enter password - fine it will dial up and logon to the ISP. However, if I try to save the password it always puts in too many digits. To experiment I just tried saving one digit, the letter a. It still saved about 8 digits. I use several ISP's and they all do the same thing. Entering a new ISP details has same result. Any ideas?

I've tried multiple anti-everything programs from Super Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix, Spybot S&D, and various online scans that have found nothing, or found something but never fully cleaned my system. For a week or two, Google was being redirected to various ad sites, but after my system was "cleaned" everything was fine. Now today, anything remotely related to Google won't load at all. I've tried to manually remove the TDSS google-redirecting virus, but I have none of the files that supposedly come along with the virus.

I'm running a laptop with Win 8 & Google Crome and like the software to save my passwords which it is doing except for Gmail. It will not save them. Matter of fact the option box does not even pop up for me to try and save them. It will work for all other sites so is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to allow ALL passwords to be saved. If there is I can't find it and it's driving me nuts because I have to check my accounts numerous times each day. " Offer to save passwords I enter on the web " is selected in the Crome settings.

But now whenever I launch a browser, it shows the last 8 webpages that I've visited, I don't like. Can't finger out how to change it back. I went into settings and tried putting in https://www.google.com as my default start page, but it still loads showing the other pages that I've visited. Anyway, thanks in advance for the help.

Answer:Solved: Google Chrome

Customize and Control button (upper right). Settings > 'On Start up' > Open a specific page or set of pages > Set Pages

Make sure you only have the one page (e.g. Google Search page) as the start up page you want.

I think you'll find that you have numerous pages as your start up page(s) for some reason. Or, maybe you once had Chrome's 'Speed Dial' extension and disabled or removed it, which left the 8 web pages shown in your first image (that somewhat resembles the Chrome 'Speed Dial' extension add-on.

Last night I received a request to update to a more recent version of adobe. When I clicked on it Google chrome was piggy backed on the download.

Now when I open anything from outlook it goes to this google chrome which does not know any of my passwords. I also cant find a bookmark icon on it. I dont think I want it.

Should I work with it a bit or get rid of it?

If number two how do I rid myself of Google chrome?

Thanks

It would appear the the chrome browser bumped out firefox when it installed. I have now set firefox a default and the passwords etc have returned.

Any point to this google chrome?

Answer:[SOLVED] google chrome

Hi kiwi2000,

Google Chrome is a very good browser and has been my main browser for the past 4 years now. The reason this happened is probably due to the install process of the program you installed, where there was probably a checkbox (download and use Chrome as default browser) that you may have missed during the installation.
You can uninstall Chrome is you wish via Add/ Remove (Programs and Features) in the Control Panel.

Hi everyone

I have looked through the forum and all I have seen on Google Chrome is that it stated peoples opinion, so here is my query.

I recently down loaded Google Chrome to see what features it had as it had been a while since I looked at it before and it had hardly anything there in the way of options or tools etc.

I did find a page where you can down load all sorts of add-ons, would anyone know how much more this would add to your downloads if you are on a limited Internet? (as in 7 gig per month after that is slows to dial up speeds this is a wireless account)

I have since taken it off my computer as I had to keep going back to IE, some of my programs e.g. Snagit integrate with IE, is it possible to integrate that and other programs with Google Chrome? I cannot seem, to find an option to do this.

Also do we have to click on a heap of web sites to get favourites back I cannot see where we can add saved favourites to Google Chrome, like we can with IE as in just importing the favorites.

I do make an effort to update myself by looking periodically till these things update enough for me to use them, without adding on a million add-ons.

I am wondering now if trying to update myself web wise is not the thing for me to do at this point.

Any answers to my queries concerning Google Chrome would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

Beanie

Answer:Solved: Google Chrome

I think you're pretty much dead on. Addons add to complexity and reduce speed in general. I really like Chrome for what it is; speedy and secure (handles potential security issues very nicely) with flash built in, but when it comes to customization and options...ufff, its not made for serious power browsing with dozens and dozens of tabs.
It's the perfect YouTube browser.

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I recently downloaded the Google chrome browser. And now when I try to open a streaming radio station , a download file option pops up. If I hit save and open it , it has only downloaded the prerecorded intro to the station. I've looked and looked but can't find anyway to disable it (if thats what I'm supposed to be doing in the first place). Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Your profile could not be opened correctly. Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permissions to read and write its contents.

Unsure why this just started and I never made any changes to my profile.Does anyone know how to reset a profile to prevent all the tabs from coming up each time I open Google Chrome.

An install of Google Crhome browser is apparantly recording cookies while the Google Chrome browser itself is not being used;  the cookies seem to be of webpages and sites that other people in this location visit through another browser.  This makes me thing that the Google Chrome browser sneaks information from the user of other browsers on the computer, and this makes me wonder, what more is being done with this set of cookies lifted from the other browser?

This cannot be normal; is it?

Every day, I come to the particular computer with google chrome on it, open history, see the cookies listed, delete them, and only use the browser in Incognito mode.  No cookies recorded during any of my usage sessions.  Later, after other people who never use Chrome use the computer, go online (with Internet Explorer), makes their website visits, and then finish; when I come back to use the computer again and go online in incognito mode on Chrome, ... there again are more cookies listed, and mostly from sites that I did not visit.

This just seems like it should not be happening.  Tell me about it?

IE 11, Firefox 33, Google Chrome 38
Norton 360;
Windows 7.

Answer:Google Chrome records cookies without running Google Chrome

What content settings is ticked for Cookies? I frequently use Chrome Browser so I must need to observe the behavior you were referring to as cookie populated on All cookies and site data if this is what you were referring to(?).

GF's HP Vista laptop...

After a recent Flash, Adobe Reader, or somesuch auto update (she can't recall) her computer starts up with a Google Chrome instance window. This is totally non functional, however, (will not connect to any web page) and does not show up as a running application in task manager. An odd dialog box also appears like "Interactive services dialog detcetion" but when you click on that it just says that a program is unable to display a message. And worse, I can't uninstall Google Chrome by it's own uninstall link in Programs, or in control panel.

Anyone have any ideas to start? I can't do any kernel dumps and such as I don't have the computer here. But I will be able to do that later if need be. Hoping it is something simple?

Hello. I seem to be having some problems with Google Chrome, two problems that may or may not be related.

1) I can open Chrome just fine.....once. If I close it for any reason, I can't open it again until I restart the computer.

2) Chrome is only working in incognito mode. In regular mode, pages that should load nearly instantaneously usually don't load or take a long time to load (like 20-30 minutes or longer).

I've tried a few things that I've found with some searches, but no luck so far.

I am running Windows 7, service pack 1. I use Firefox and Chrome. When I open up Chrome and I pull up running processes, I notice that Chrome seems to have 6 or 7 different processes running all showing up as chrome.exe *32. Is this normal or is it some kind of virus or bug?

Just noticed that with each tab I open, it opens up another Chrome process.

It's perfectly normal to have multiple Chrome processes going at the same time that all have the same name.

Hi, it's me again

First, I'm not sure if I'm posting this thread in the correct category, because it also belongs in 'software'. So if it should rather be there, mes excuses.

So, I'm using Google Chrome on my Laptop (Dell Studio - Windows 7) for several years now, and I haven't had any problem with it. But now (version 23.0.1271.95 m) I suddenly have several problems:

- Some pictures don't show up anymore, and I just see the background (eg. http://livedemo00.template-help.com/wordpress_40115/)
- Some links stopped working (eg. the 'read more' link on posts on Facebook)
- Some sites don't load (eg. all sites made on wix.com)
- Some sites get stuck when scrolling

And the problems seem to get even worse every day

Those problems don't occur in other browsers (like Firefox), but I would love to keep using Chrome. However Re-installing Chrome doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Solved: Google Chrome problem

Hi all. Im having issues at the moment with Google Chrome. It’s getting to the stage where normal web browsing is getting like Dial up was. Slow & cumbersome. Im getting the ‘Resolving Host’ & ‘Resolving Proxy’ message show up in the bottom left corner of the browser page. & if I refresh the page most of the time I get the ‘Cant display page’ message. But randomly enough, if I reboot my pc then everything is fine & fast as you like for a good while. Ive looked at the help page & searched the web for some answers but apart from the usual ‘uncheck DNS Pre-Fetching’ & ‘uncheck show suggestions for navigation errors’ & ‘stop automatic LAN setting detection’. It’s still getting hit & miss as to a page opening correctly or not.
When I first installed Chrome it was fantastic but now it’s becoming a pain. The reason I installed it was cuz of the amount of time IE 7 or IE8 kept crashing. It did cross my mind that my McAfee Security Centre may be causing problems but ive been using that now for 8 or 9 months.
Ive not long upgraded my motherboard, processor & graphics card & I know these are more than capable of fast browsing etc. My internet connection is wired DSL which is shared with my neighbour. Basically he is on 20mb Virgin media & im connected through his Netgear router via Lan.
My spec is as follows:
CPU : Intel Core 2 2400 MHz
Bus Speed : 266 MHz
Motherboard : IB9 (Intel P965-ICH8)
BIOS : Phoenix 6.00 PG
Memory : 2048... Read more

I am an intermediate-advanced computer user. Google Chrome was working fine until recently. When I tried to open it, I got the window 'Woah! Google Chrome has crashed. Restart?" every time when I clicked on it. Restarting the computer did nothing. Reinstalling Chrome did nothing. Uninstalling with Revo, and reinstalling did nothing. When Chrome is reinstalled it gives a promising few seconds of time before crashing but that was the only progress I saw. What else do you advise?
I have backed up all User Data and Local Settings so I don't risk losing my extensions, settings and greasemonkey scripts. All extensions etc were removed by the uninstall. I have kept backups in a different folder (the desktop) but the reinstall removed the originals from the App Data folder.
I am not going to move user account or take as drastic measures as reinstalling the OS. I am sure this can be sorted out. Perhaps I am running messed up software / malware is installed but no peculiar tasks are running. Messed up software is unlikely as I tried whilst running the minimum amount of programs and the same thing happened. Actually, that's when it started.

Hi,
I've been using Chrome almost since it first appeared, but I've never been able to discover how to change the colour of the links to the sites that I've visited so as to mark them as read.

Currently, sometimes, there is a slight difference, as listed: dark blue, 'Visited': indigo, almost indiscernible. I would like to change these links to (say) red text to make them obvious.

Guess I have been afraid to try something new so I am an old IE diehard. Took me years to abandon WordPerfect and convert to Word. I am finding more and more that when some web programs aren't working correctly, the programs tech support says there are issues with IE and they suggest I try Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. I am used to the tabs and some features in IE and wonder if either Firefox or Google are difficult to learn and navigate. Should I convert completely or just use one of those browsers when a program doesn't function well with IE?

SOLVED. THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF SYMANTEC ENDPOINT PROTECTION.  Hello Everyone. I wonder if anyone can use Google Chrome on T61. I got my T61 from Hong Kong 5 months ago and I am using Windows Vista SP1 32 Bit Traditional Chinese. After I installed Google Chrome, it couldn' t connect to any websites. I had tried to uninstall it and even reinstall my computer, but it still doesn't work. The Internet Explorer does work. Surprisingly, I can connect to different websites using Google Chrome when I use Windows XP on Virtual PC. It seems that it's related to the OS itself. I will try to use Vista on Virtual PC, but I hope that you guys will be able to solve my problem. Thanks you very much. Edwin Message Edited by Edwin2005HK on 11-17-2008 05:40 PMMessage Edited by Edwin2005HK on 11-17-2008 08:15 PM

I recently installed google chrome and I like it. But in becoming more filmier with chrome, but I made a few errors on setting it up. I want to do a install from scratch, but each time I install it, it brings back the same settings.

Is there anyway to reinstall Google Chrome like new? I do not want it to load my previous setting.

Answer:Solved: Reinstalling Google Chrome

i have not tried - but you can delete for the use
You are currently the only Google Chrome user.
Add new user...

Delete this user

Import bookmarks and settings...

if you are the only user - as far as I can work out - from google forum, this will set all the defaults
never tried myself

http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/xbmkn0Ohoh4

ALSO from here
http://en.kioskea.net/faq/6361-rese...o-default-settings#how-to-reset-google-chrome

Close all running instances of Google Chrome.
Go to the installation folder of Google Chrome:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\User Data.
In the User Data folder, look for a file named as "Default" and rename it.
Launch Google Chrome and a new "Default " file will be created.Click to expand...

but NEVER tried these either

Answer:Solved: Google Chrome browser.

It doesn't have that toolbar. You might also consider ChromePlus as a browser. It has the same "engine" but does not phone home with data about your net usage and has some additional features not found in the Google app. It is far less intrusive than Google's rendition.

This could be the cheesiest question I've ever posted. When using Google Chrome, and you click for a new tab, you immediately get a page showing previously used bookmarks. When downloading Chrome, I chose a theme background which I would now like to change, since it is dark and the contrast is awful. How do I go about doing that?

Answer:[SOLVED] Google Chrome background

Open Chrome, click the wrench icon, select Options, click the Personal Stuff tab and click the 'Get Themes' link at the bottom of the window.

This will take you to this page: https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl...mes/index.html

Click the 'Themes By Google' tab, then click the 'Apply Theme' button for whichever theme you want to change to.

Because I was tired of FF constantly not responding I decided to try Google Chrome. It seems ok so far but there is one thing that really annoys me. When the search list comes up there is a small arrow to the left of the search box. If I hover even anywhere near that this large black drop down list appears which includes You Tube, +You, Facebook, search, images etc. In short all programs I have no interest in or can access elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me how to stop this darned box appearing? Or alternatively how to delete it altogether?
Thank you.

Hello,

Is there a way or plugin I can install for Google Chrome that will put the tabs next to the URL bar like IE9?

Thanks.

Answer:[SOLVED] Google Chrome - Put Tabs next to URL

I guess yours are directly above. You can move them to the side and display them vertically: Move Your Tabs to the Side in Google Chrome for Widescreen-Friendly Browsing
but probably what would deter what you're trying to do is that IE has incorporated the search function with the address bar, leaving room to the right of it. Google has a long address bar and already takes up space to its right with the symbols.
