Preferred Solution: Computer crashes suddenly displaying an error (print-screen added)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Computer crashes suddenly displaying an error (print-screen added)

Have you rebooted to see if it reappears?  Also have you made any changes to the bios or the registry?  Something has to trigger an event, an upload, system change or the above try to think of any possible changes.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I have MS Office Student/Home Edition.

After a recent MS automatic update the color display on screen and in print preview suddenly stopped working in Word & Excel. It was working fine prior to the update.

I have googled and searched and cannot find anything to help.

I tried a repair from the install disk, checked my computer display settiings & verified that I am running the most up-to-date video drivers.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and is there a solution?

Hello Tina 265, welcome to Seven Forums.

A couple of things you could try - restore your system to a point before the problem update:
System Restore

or perhaps the information here will help:

After attempting to start my PC in Safe Mode to uninstall a graphics driver, it loaded drivers normally only to crash a few seconds after displaying the logon screen, which immediately caused the computer to load Windows normally. This error has been repeated countless times with the same result.

I have only tried to start up 'normal' Safe Mode. Sometimes key strokes are accepted (one time I had enough time to start inputting my password), but mostly, Safe Mode loads drivers, flashes the logon screen, and crashes.

Any ideas/advice? I have had this computer for 3 years now and this is the first time I have tried to start it in Safe Mode. If it matters, it's a Studio 1737, 8 GB ram, etc., more details can be provided if necessary.

Answer:Safe Mode crashes after displaying logon screen

My first suggestion would be to check system files. There are some generic drivers in use in safe mode that aren't normally called on and one could have been corrupted, if you are able to still boot normally it's a logical first step anyhow.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
(do the way that fixes, not the way that just scans, it's all detailed in the link)

Hello, new to the forums and this is my first post, I built a brand new computer for the holidays and it has been working fine. brief run down of hardware would be:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
ASUS M5A99X EVO- Motherboard
Radeon HD 6770- Graphics
AMD FX-6100 - processor
8 GB Patriot G2 DDR2 - Memory
Diablotek 600 Watt- Power.

The computer has been running flawlessly using a 55" tv as a monitor with graphics on ulta for 2 weeks or so, there is barely anything installed on the computer besides necessary programs and 1 or 2 games at the moment. For the 2nd time now the computer has shut down instantly giving no warning, displaying no errors or coming back with any errors after running Windows 7 trouble shooters, the first time the computer had been on all day so I thought maybe over heating. But this second time the computer was only on about 5 minutes and did the same thing, I put a lot of time and is the first computer ive built so I would like to fix it before anything gets damaged but im not sure where to start. BOTH crashes Were during a game but there has been no system changes or installs in the past 2 weeks in which it was already running flawlessly.

My PC crashes abruptly and unexpectedly (there is no blue screen, the screen just goes black). This occurs more and more often and makes the PC difficult to use.
It usually happens when the hard disk works intensely, e.g. a full scan by Microsoft Security Essentials (which is never completed).
It is often related to high fan activity so perhaps overheating is a problem. However, it has also happened when fan is running slowly.
It is sometimes related to stress on the video card: entering new scenes in games has caused shut downs.
The computer is a custom built PC from December 2012
Windows 7 Professional, SP1, 64-bit (Norwegian language version)
Processor: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core, 3.51 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5
Speccy results published:
I have run SysnativeBSODCollectionApp.exe, results are attached (had to kill the process as it took more than 5 minutes with “Waiting for SystemInfo”).
I will be happy to provide any other info.
Would be very grateful for any assistance!

Answer:Windows 7 suddenly crashes (no blue screen)

Are the fans and lights still on when the system "crashes?" Or does the system completely lose power?
You will need to run a couple of hardware diagnostics Be sure to run all the tests on that page.
In addition, I would suggest you test your power supply
You may wish to try this hardware stripdown procedure too
Apart from that, we don't have much to do software-wise — I'm 99% certain it's a hardware problem. You could try updating the BIOS, though it may not be the best idea as the computer could restart suddenly halfway through the update.

Hello, for the past few years my computer (Windows 7 Premium) crashes randomly.  The blue screen appears.  When I restart it, everything seems fine, but then it crashes again.  The data dump refers to a faulty device driver.  I opened Device Manager and all of the drivers seem fine.  I am not sure what to do and do not want to start trying to clean this up on my own.
Any help to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.
The last time my computer crashed, windows gave me this little error box on restarting.  The details are as follows-

Hi. I've owned this PC for a few years now, it's done me really well. I'm not the most tech savvy person alive, but I manage. I usually play up to 10 hours at a time (breaks inbetween of course) and it handles it well, with no crashes throughout the whole day. 4 days ago, I was playing with a friend of mine on Dota 2, and I suddenly crashed. I thought "no biggie, just reboot". I did that, and I finished the game. Next day I turned it on, and played again. It crashed again. I rebooted it, and it crashed AGAIN 10 minutes later. I turned my fan on max speed and that did the trick, it stopped crashing for 2 days. Now, it crashes even if I have the fan on full. It crashes with every game I play (CSGO, Dota 2, World of Tanks etc), sometimes it crashes from just watching Youtube.

I thought it might be an overheating issue, since my PC was quite hot, but I checked the temperatures using Speedfan and it came up normal (avg 30 celsius). When playing games my GPU would be at 50 celsius.

I did a full virus scan, nothing came up.

Sometimes, it's a BSOD that lasts about 10-20 seconds. Sometimes it freezes, flashes a BSOD for a milisecond then goes to a black screen. Or it just freezes with the buzzing noise, with a still image of the point at which I crashed ingame.

I've posted my specs on my profile as part of the registering requirement. Or do I need to post them here again?

I've followed the BSOD help tutorial and have attached the dump files gathered by the a... Read more

I just bought a new T430i laptop two months ago. I installed both Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 7 Professional - 64bit on it. Since then, when I'm using the Windows, sometimes it crashes suddenly without doing anything special on it. I don't get any error messages or anything to help me find out what could be the problem, just the screen starts to blink with black stripes, and I can't do anything with it, only shut down with the power button.
Has anyone the same problem? What could be the reason of this?
I attach a picture from my screen, maybe it helps...

Hi, szabi333
To clarify: This issue has never occurred when running Ubuntu, correct? If this is the case, then I would make sure that your BIOS and drivers for Windows are all completely up to date. If it only occurs with Windows, then it is likely a software issue of sorts. All drivers for your system can be found here.
Hope it helps,

Recently my computer has started crashing on me. I have an Alienware m18x r1 with two gtx 460m graphic cards, and intel 2820 qm processor (I think).  Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, if it needs to be moved please do so (new here). The symptoms:-happens (so far) only while playing an online fullscreen game-the computer shuts off INSTANTLY as if I'd held down the power button, sometimes it does reboot, sometimes it doesn't (last few times it has rebooted)More info:-I recently cleaned out all the dust from my laptop and applied new thermal paste to the CPU (about 1 week ago) but the problems with the sudden shut-downs only started yesterday ago-SpeedFan reports that all temperatures within my cpu and gpu are within acceptable limits---below 60 degrees Celsius, and the crash often occurs within several minutes of when I start to play the game, before laptop would have heated up much (before I did the cleaning of the laptop a week ago, the laptop used to feel hot to the touch at times, it never does anymore)-tried several different versions of NVIDIA drivers ranged from versions 3.35 to 3.30, crash seems to happen either way-tried updating my BIOS from version a04 to a05, doesn't seem to have stopped the crashes while playing game-tried clean reinstall of windows 8.1, without success; this severely limits the # of software-related things that could be causing the crash, because there's only half a dozen programs I've installed so far-avg antiv... Hello. I could really use the print option of my OS.  Unfortunately, my printer is gone from the Printers applet and I can't add a new one because either the print spooler crashed or I get error code 0x000006BE if I manually restart the spooler and try to add the printer.So.... Any ideas how to fix this.  I removed my printer drivers, have no printer hooked up and still get the same results.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Answer:Can't add printer. Print Spooler crashes. Error code 0x000006be

This behavior occurs if existed printer drivers are corrupt. I suggest that you remove all the installed printers and reinstall the useful printer.
Remove a printer
1. Click the "Start" button, type PRINTER in the search box and press Enter. 2. Find the icons of installed printers, and delete them. 3. Right-click on the blank part of the window, and choose "Run as administrator"->"Server Properties". 4. On the Drivers tab, select the listed printers and click the Remove button. Please then select Remove driver and driver package.5. Open Start menu, input APPWIZ.CPL in the Search box and press ENTER to launch "Programs and Features".6. Try to remove all related printer software.
If the issue is not resolved, I suggest that you clear the printing sub system.
Step 1======Start Windows Explorer, and then rename all files and folders in the following two folders: c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86  To rename a file, we can right click the file and select Rename. Step 2 ======1. Click Start, type REGEDIT in the Start Search Bar, and then press ENTER.2. Navigate to and then click the following registry key:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environment\Windows NT x86  View the list of subkeys. There should be only the following subkeys: Drivers Print Processors  If there are any keys other than those listed above, follow these steps:  a. On the File menu, click Export. b. I am new to this site. Not real knowledgable in computers, but was told a network card (mine was fried by lightning) was easy to install. I did install it.shut down power, opened computer case, just picked an open slot and inserted card. I hooked everything back up and turned the computer back on. However, my computer screen will not light up. I re-checked cords..everything is in place. The computer is running, but the screen will not light up. Any Ideas??

Answer:Dell B110 Added a Network Card-Now Computer Screen will not light up

welcome to TSG

I am not sure, but I don't think you can just plug a card into any slot, you should replace the faulty one and put it into the same slot.
Also lightning could have fried more then just the network card.

New Xp pro sp3 boots fine everything works, you can see the computer in network places, connects to server 2003 sp2 and prints remotely fine, After a period, 5-10 minutes i am guessing, of time the new xp machine disappears from off the network places list can not connect to shared files unless through a previously connected mapped drive, when trying to print out of the server says no printers are installed try to reinstall printers need to restart print spooler, to get server printers to show up. after resetting print spooler on Server still will not print. What is wrong with the xp machine. If I restart computer brouser services the new xp machine will show up in network places. A couple of days ago my computer stopped loading windows, when I try to boot from hard drive the computer displays it's normal white on black bios/computer information but when it should be displaying the 'windows loading' logo, the monitor just stays black.

I have tried booting in to safe mode but when safe mode tried to load it gets stuck on C:\windows\system32\config\system so I'm guessing that file is corrupt. After finding out I couldn't boot from hard drive at all, I booted in to my windows cd and thought about reformatting but chose not to since I wanted to back up. I then booted in to 'damn small linux' where I backed up some of the files to my mum's computer, now her computer has died as well, does this mean that it could be a virus?

After backing up what I needed I chose to go back and reformat and now my boot disk won't work either! My windows cd just loads a little then goes black, like the windows installation.

I am pretty much out of ideas except to get a different boot disk and try to install that and hope it doesn't go black.

Do you think it would do me any good to plug my hard drive in to a friends computer and try to reformat it there?

Anyway, I'd be happy to hear any ideas you've got.

Answer:Windows not booting (Black Screen) after displaying bios and computer info

If you think it might be a virus then I wouldn't try it in your friend's. Especially after you think it killed your mother's. Boot from the xp cd and choose the repair option. It goes through your system files and looks for any corrupted or missing files. It will replace them if it finds any.

I just picked up another 512MB stick of ddr pc2700(my others are 2x256 pc2100, so I know have all 3 slots full) for my Asus a7n266 NForce1 board. I installed it and it was recognized just fine.

But I noticed that Firefox and IE started to crash every time I ran them within 5-10minutes. I had just installed firefox 1.5 so I thought it was perhaps due to that, but I went ahead and pulled the ram out, and now my system is running fine.

I did not see any other problems in my other applications (which is strange).

Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? Bad ram? Bad MOBO ram slot?

Answer:Added RAM now CRASHES.

check voltages, often makes your comp crash, also try just with the 512 stick

I have had this HP Officejet for some time now, but recently upgraded my PC's OS. Ever since, I have been unable to install my printer, until yesterday, when I decided I would only have it installed on my old PC (which is my home office network server) and then share the printer on my network. So I finally found the driver to do that, and got it printing, from my network connection.

Then today, having changed nothing, I can't print. Every time I go to print something, whether I'm in IE, Firefox, Thunderbird mail, Word, etc., the application crashes and I get the following error (similar on all, except application name).

The driver mentioned is the same one called up in the other app errors too.

Faulting application thunderbird.exe, version 1.8.20070.60411, faulting module hpzpm310.dll, version 2.323.0.0, fault address 0x00041983.

I have formatted my laptop at work and install fresh copy of windows 2003 (i joined the domain), why have the printers (more than one ) been added to the TCP/IP print port table , as you see in the link below without my intention ?

Answer:Printers have been added to the TCP/IP print port table without my intention

Possibly due to a desktop security program such as Script Logic's Desktop Authority.

That app can make all kinds of changes (depending on how the network tech configures it) to your pc as soon as you log onto the network. Installing specific printers can also be config'd. I can send a user's printjobs to a printer in a different building's printer's (that's really funny)....

We use Desktop Authority and users don't even see their C drive or have access to it...

It can be configured by user name, pc name, OU, etc...the things it can do are basically unlimited. Many of our users hate it for they can't even change their wallpaper.

Do a Cntl-Alt-Del, go to processes and see if you see something running out of the ordinary.

With Desktop Authority, you'll see one of the processes titled DesktopAuthority.exe

Keep us posted....

Hi all, I have a rather strange problem that hopefully someone can help me with.
My motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LX can handle up to 32 GB of DDR3 1600mhz.
I did do a "memtest" on all of my 16GB DDR3 1600mhz, 10 passes, 10 hours and no errors. I had my original 4 GB still in the computer as I had to remove the other ram to install Windows 7. Once windows was installed I ran it with just the 4 GB for a few days to make sure everything was working which it was. So I then re-installed the remaining 12 GB of ram and then right away windows explorer kept crashing. I removed the 12GB I just put in and reinstalled each stick separately with the original 4 GB so each time there was 8 GB of ram installed with no problems at all.
So what gives ???
Is there a default setting somewhere that is limiting my memory???

Answer:Explorer crashes with added memory

It could be your RAM is mixed and matched and therefore not compatible. How did you buy the remaining 12 GB?

It may also be your BIOS settings cannot support the 16 GB.
Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot.

Also, go into your BIOS and post all Voltages (CPU, RAM, NB, IMC, etc.) and all RAM settings (timings, frequency, etc.)

Hi all,I am a T42 2374A63 user and since I installed 1GB more memory (I used to have 1GB, now I have 2 GB of SO-DIMM DDR333 PC2700 as this previous thread of mine advised:, my thinkpad keeps crashing 2 to 10 minutes after startup in both Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP (nothing works except the little beep when I plug the AC in and out, the red light of my infrared mouse turns off, I tried several key combinations such as Ctrl+Alt+Del, Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (in linux), the frame freezes but the laptop doesn't turn off and neither does the screen). This laptop is supposed to be able to hadle 2x1GB of memory in its 2 memory slots so there shouldn't be any problem... Right now, I'm in xp's safe mode and it looks to work fine, I haven't tried ubuntu's safe mode yet.Could anyone tell me what could possibly be going on in my laptop? It may be a problem of virtual memory or something, but I don't  know whether ubuntu uses virtual memory so...Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is a MS issue. Default zoom setting for Edge is 125% but Outlook email is suddenly really tiny in size despite Edge showing 125%. The right hand 30% of the screen is now just empty white space. If I change it to 100% and back to 125% then it corrects until I close and reopen Edge. No other tabs are affected.

I was downloading some Canon Pixma printer software, from canon's official website, and when the download finished I restarted my computer. Once I restarted the computer all of my display text was replaced by symbols. Still being able to sign in, I tried entering the control panel, but the screen started blinking every 2 seconds making it impossible to perform an action. ALL of the text is replaced by symbols and I'm not able to enter Safe Mode when rebooting. I tried Shift and F8, Shift and F10, Fn and F8 and even F8 by itself to cause a safe mode boot, but nothing happened. It happened suddenly and I've never had any problems with my laptop before. I'm a web developer and I have A LOT of media files that are crucial to my work. I have important data and work done for clients so I'd like to keep those files. Trying to insert a HDD to backup my stuff causes the screen to blink which can only be stopped by shutting down the laptop. I've searched for hours for a fix and haven't found anything so I'll try here. Thanks in advance!

Try to get into safe mode via these instructions, and uninstall the driver.

So this started happening a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was an issue with an addon that might have done out of date or something but this is happening across 3 different systems... one of which is isolated from the other two (my workstation at work, desktop at home and my laptop... which I'm the only one with access to the later two), so not sure what the problem could be.

So, for an example, if I go to YouTube, the font color of all the comments are white. If I highlight the area, I can see the text... but otherwise it's invisible. Likewise for certain elements on sites like Engadget. Some things are visible... others are either white or a very bright color that makes it next to impossible to read on a light colored background. Craigslist is almost impossible to read. I assumed that, at first, it was due to script blocking or something... but I've uninstalled ALL of my addons and it hasn't corrected it. The only way that I can seem to 'fix' it is to run a "stylish" theme for an affected website... but even that has it's limits.

Is this happening for anyone else? Both chrome and IE render the page fine... this seems like it's only an issue with Firefox

Answer:text colors and web elements in FF suddenly not displaying correctly?

Sounds like an issue with the default stylesheet

hey guys,

I was attempting to clean my computer screen today by wiping it off with a tissue paper but I accidently wiped over a bunch of buttons on my screen, and I have no idea what the function of those is lol.
My PC screen went black, and I don't know to get things back to normal. I still hear the computers noise so I know it's on. I already tried to turn off the PC and unplug it, but that didn't fix the problem. When I start it up again the screen remains black.

I've also managed to lose the manual. Any idea's? here's a pic FYI

Please put your System Specs in your Profile

If you have a proprietory computer like Dell; HP; Acer etc, please manually write this in the mobo field (ie Dell Dimension 3100 - as an example)

Mind you, this is most likely an LCD monitor fault. If you have another Display (from another computer that you could swap yours with - as a test) that would be ideal.

I tried this in a different forum, so now im trying here as well...

I installed XP on an old gateway a little while ago, and now I'm having some problems with it. Mmk, here's the run down...

Gateway 4000274 Anigma Pentium II Mobo
Intel Celeron
(if you need anymore specs just ask)

Alright, so our main computer was in some trouble earlier, so I had brought the gateway out into the living room where I could use it for internet access to fix the other computer. Later I got the other computer working, and never moved the gateway back into the other room. So, it sat here not plugged into a power source for at least a week (probably more). Then I brought back into the room, tried to set it up, and nothing was coming up on the monitor. I've had this problem before, I switched the power outlet, and that used to fix the problem, so I tried that again, no go. Then I tried a different monitor, and a different cable, still nothing. Tried a different power source, etc. Basically, it definitely is the computer.

So, my question to you is, how do I get the screen back? I've been researching forums, I could unlug the battery in it (not sure how to), something about "jumping" it, a CMOS, etc. Possibly a video card driver, however, as I said before the computer was working fine, the only thing that has changed in the computer is that it has not been plugged in for a long period of time. So I don't think it's a driver.

ALSO, I did g... Read more

My computer is suddenly getting frequent blue screens that reads "Irql_not _less_or equal" and saying how physical memory dump is complete. I really don't know what is the cause of the this and why I am suddenly getting this screen a lot. It has never happened before and recently it has been popping up alot. I did manage to write down some info on what the blue screen said and here are some things it had: "ip_fw.sys" "0x000000D1" "F89C9C2B".What should I do? I'd really appreciate a step by step solution or something to stop this from happening again.

Bluescreen of Doom/death has happened to me twice but to get rid of it is a little bit tricky ( lost of data sometimes)

I have nothing to tell much other than referring you to this article, please read it carefully. you will find the causes, and the solution.

(The blue screen of death is a reference to when a computer flashes a blue screen and then shuts downs without warning.)

Read this articles for solution:

bluescreen of death is usually cause by device problem, for example, HDD-Hard disk drive physical memory dump. exactly what happened to your computer.

- sometimes the screen shutdown but the system is usually running ( i can hear noise and LED is brightning)

i am recognizing your help and interest

Answer:A blue screen error and suddenly shutdown on my Sat M70

Usually if the Blue Screen error message occurs, so it could be a serious software fault or a hardware malfunction.
There is no generally solution for this problem. In my opinion you should check, if the software is responsible for this malfunction.
Try to install new OS or recover the unit with the delivered recovery CD.
Maybe this will solve the problems.
If not so it must be something wrong with the hardware. You should contact the Toshiba service. He can run some diagnostic test and you will get a detailed answer what it?s wrong.

First, slide the both horizontal and vertical sliders of the paint window to to bottom right ...

Until you see the small white dot at the bottom right corner

Click on the white dot, drag insige towards top left, until it is small enough like this one ...
Alternatively, after pasting the screen in the paint window, just press the crop button

I just built my computer about 3 weeks ago, and ever since I put it together, it will randomly crash. Sometimes it crashes in 15 minutes, sometimes in 15 hours. It just freezes for a second, and then crashes and goes to a red screen or black screen or green screen. Also, sometimes, the monitor will go black for a second and then display returns. I don't know if this is relevant, but the speakers I have hooked up randomly make a popping noise every 30 minutes or so. I don't know why. I have reupdated the video drivers a few times. I also have run a memtest, and it came back with no errors (but it took about 18 hours for 1 pass). I have also monitored the temperatures on my computer. GPU never gets hotter than 47C and CPU hasn't gotten hotter than 55C. I have replaced the PSU with a corsair ax860 and the issue stayed, so it isn't the PSU. Also, when it crashes, its not just the screen. The processes on my computer stop (such as my minecraft server), so I know its the actual computer and not just graphics. My friend mentioned it might be my solid state, as that is running the OS.

Good day to you all and i thank you for taking time to look at my dilemma . I am not sure whether this qualifies as a crash problem as i have never encountered a BSOD but i suspect that it is the closet sign to it. Well i have an hp pavilion g7 1251si laptop with i5-2430M 4Gb RAM 64bit OS win 7 Prem AMD Radeon HD 6470M.............. it runs pretty smoothly except for one rather daunting problem , the screen suddenly starts ghosting out of nowhere. I have had some experience with computers but this problem is one i have never heard of ............ there is no BSOD or error message after i switch off the laptop off and on again ............. and it does not do this ghosting consistently or after a specific time or task . So i can be doing something as simple as document editing and it happens. It has been more than 3 months since it last occurred and it has only happened about 5 times in the year since i purchased this laptop. Its still under warranty but i cannot go and claim it if i cannot specifically show them the problem and regardless am not comfortable with backing up and transferring all my files all over again. I am worried that this is an issue that if not dealt with could have future repercussions so any assistance is greatly appreciated. As as last resort i try to randomly press keys such as caps and num lock when this happens but to no avail. The only responsive button seems to be the power button.I have uploaded a photo of the laptop ghosting to help clear thing... Read more

Answer:Satellite C855D Toshiba DVD player display suddenly stopped displaying

Sorry, but your positing is very confusing?
I have no idea what you changed in the past in the Toshiba DVD player settings but I think the easiest solution would be new installation of Toshiba DVD player Utility.

Usually you could download the Toshiba DVD player from the Toshiba EU driver page
Before installing this software, I recommend to uninstall the installed Toshiba DVD player.
Then reboot the notebook.
Download the tool from the Toshiba website and start the installation.
Finally reboot the notebook and test the functionality.

Hi, I have a laptop HP Pavilion dm4 1180la with windows 7; this laptop is quite old but I am using it again. It runs well, but when it starts, laptop is very slow and suddenly after a few minutes it crashes and restarts.2. When computer gets to the part where I have to type my password to log in, the screen gets black and nothing happens. For both outcomes, I have to go to secure mode and uninstall AMD drivers and softwares, after that everything runs smoothly again. The issue is that without those AMD drivers, I canīt use my HDMI ports and laptop is not at its full capacity. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

This happened after I saw my computer was at the password screen, I don't remember turning it on though. It must have been at the password screen to log in for about 20 min or so. Ever since that my computer is barely able to load up.

I keep getting an error message when trying to download certain things, and I'm trying to remember how to use the "print screen" feature to show you what I mean. I remember that I'm supposed to hit "print screen," and I remember that it involved, but I can't remember how to save the image after hitting "print screen" in order to upload it to Can you help?

Thanks so much!

Answer:Print Screen For Bleeping Computer Help

I don't know about print screen, never use it.
What I usually do is use the Vista Snipping Tool to capture the image and save it to my Pictures folder.
Then add it as an attachment to my post.
Click the down arrow in Manage Current Attachments, click green +

Hello everyone! Lately, my print screen button has been making my computer crash and it gives me an error screen like this. At the bottom of the text, it has the error KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or something like that.

Answer:RunDLL error (print screen included)

The LXCFtime.dll in your screenshot seems to be related to a driver for a lexmark printer. I'd start off by uninstalling the printer through either appwiz.cpl or devmgmt.msc and then reinstall the driver and see what happens.

You have 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the Windows Updates & Activation - Windows 8 Forums for further expert assistance with this issue.

There are no memory dumps in the uploaded reports - nor are there any hints about them in the WER section of MSINFO32.
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

There are enough signs here that I have to wonder about this installation. Should this be a pirated copy of Windows, please be aware that we may not be able to fix it (as the hacks that were done to activate it will cause the OS to behave differently than we expect it to). Hi guys,

So, my computer has been working perfectly for around 2 years now, and just the other day I ran into a pretty annoying problem. Every time I boot up my computer, it'll go to a black screen where it lists by graphics card and bios version , and then it proceeds to a blue screen with the HP Logo in the center and the Intel logo on the bottom right- this is the screen where it gives options like F11 for system recovery, F9 for diagnostics etc. After a few seconds on this screen, the busy light on my computer will become solid orange and everything just freezes. It doesn't respond if I hit escape for boot menu, F11, F9, F8, anything. It will just stay at that screen for hours with the busy light still on. If I boot it up and try to quickly enter system restore or safe mode or setup or something, it'll say "Entering setup" on the bottom right, but then it'll freeze anyways, without ever moving away from the blue screen.

I have an a6500f HP Pavillion with Windows Vista 32 bit, a GeFroce 8600 GT OC card, intel dual core processors 1.8 Ghz and a 500 gb Barracuda 7200.11 hard drive (?).

The only things I've changed on the computer have been the graphics card and then I changed the PSU after I realized I needed more power to run the card I have.

Things I've tried:

Honestly I haven't really known what to try. I've searched the web and there's many problems similar to mine, but none that sound identical and none of the ... Read more

I have a fairly fast computer i guess and i do use torrent fairly frequently to download games, movies, and music.Recently while playing a game, gta 3 san andreas... the game suddenly crashed for apparently no reason. Afterwards all actions (such as using windows media player, opening folders, going onilne, etc.) suddenly became a lot slower. It didnt seem to be malware or something because no actual change happened to the computer other than the slowness. I had ran virus scans with Ad aware with Lavasoft and Super Anti Spyware with no results within scanning for hours. i had ran freeware AML registry cleaner but the computer would randomly reboot before the scan could complete with a blue screen appearing right before the screen booted. After turning off automatic restart for system failure i got a good look at the screen and it read:
Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete
I had also tried rebooting with "Last known good configuration but still had the same problems
I still have 90gb free space with 250gb used and usually have had no virus problems other than a malware issue that was resolved by my sister (who is away now and cannot help anymore). Disk Defragmentation is done so that should also not be a problem.

Help would be very appreciated

Answer:Computer performance suddenly drastically slower + get blue screen

Hello Ebb1611

Things to try
1. Test the RAM
2. Update your video drivers

1. Test RAM
If you have more than one stick of RAM (256MB or more) swap them over or take one out and try again with only stick #1. If it does not help or makes things worse swap the sticks and try again with only stick #2. Running with one stick at a time will identify if you have a bad stick. Try moving the RAM to a different slot as well.

You can put either of these free programs on a floppy and test the RAM. Let them run for hours to do many passes if you can

Windows Memory Diagnostic

Memtest on CD ( this is a bootable CD and can be used when you cannot access an operating system)

Use your CD burner to write it onto a CD as an ISO image
Test with only one stick of RAM installed at a time

2. Video drivers
Go to the manufacturer of the video card`s site and look for updated drivers for your card.

I usually like to leave my computer on overnight. So I go offline, disable my wireless, and put on a video playlist in full screen to help me sleep. Anyway, today I woke up and saw the Windows Media Player no longer full screen, and the wireless switch was actually turned on. This is strange because I know I turned wireless off and I frequently check my system with Malwarebytes.

What could this be? Did someone snoop in my computer? Thanks in advance for the support.

Have a WinXP system with a Xerox XK50 printer. Everything has worked well for 6 months. Now, suddenly, I cannot print, not even a test page. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. XP recognises new hardware after I uninstall, and the reinstall process goes smoothly; the printer appears in Control Panel\Printers as the default printer and is shown as 'ready'. The outfit I bought the pc from tell me I must re-initialise from the recovery cd. Surely not! This seems a bit drastic, and will cause a lot of re-installing appns. and data. Can anyone suggest anything?

Answer:Suddenly cannot print anything

System Recovery shouldn't be an option just yet! Did the printer come with the PC? If so, it's the 'outfit's pigeon. In the meantime, check that power is getting to the printer. Does it have external controls to initiate a test page?

I have PC running Windows 7 and it has had no problems up until recently. A few days ago, it froze and a family member unplugged the computer from the back (he pulled the cord). He first tried to press the on/off button in the front of the computer but it didnt do anything so thats why he pulled the cord. At first I though the HDD had died, so I turned on the computer and listened. It powered up normally and I can hear and feel the disks spinning without making any unusual noises. In the BIOS, it says that no Primary IDE Master is detected. I've checked the cables and even swapped my SATA cable for another one the HDD still wont detect.

First screen that comes up:
Scanning IDE Drives.... (It doesnt detect any so I get the second screen)
After this I have a couple of options:
CTRL+F Fastbuild Utility or ESC to continue boot

If I press nothing I get the message:
No Hard Disk Drive Detected!
Press F1 to resume
Pressing F1 gets me:

During the second screen, I held CTRL+F and got to a FastBuild utility screen. I did a little reading and it seems like this program is used to create/edit RAID controllers. I only have 1 hard drive in my pc.

FastBuild Utility:
1=Auto Setup
2= View Drive Assignments
3=Define Array
4=Delete Array

When I press '1'.
When I press '2'
When I press '3'
As you can see, the motherboard is clearly detecting the hard drive. Otherwise, I wouldnt be able to see it in the array settings, right... Read more

I am running vista. Recently, my computer is constantly crashing to a blue screen regardless of what I am doing. My computer is not connected to the internet and I erased the anti-virus from the computer. It moves extremely slow. When it crashes it gives the error " Stop: 0x0000007F (0x00000008, 0x0803D3130, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" Sometimes after it finishes rebooting it says "Do you want to install drivers for NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 (recommended). Hi and Welcome.

Your description of the kernel stack inpage = a bugcheck of 0x00000077.

0x77 = KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR and tells us that the page (from the page file) of kernel data could not be read into memory.

A 0x77 is usually hardware related. Run memtest86+ and also chkdsk /r.

Check Device Manager as well. Any new hardware? Are you running XP SP2 or XP SP3? All Windows Updates installed? Are your drivers updated (audio, video, wifi, Ethernet, etc...)?

Get the dumps from c:\windows\minidump and run msinfo32 & save in NFO (default) file format.
START | Run | type msinfo32 - hit enter; Save as an NFO file - you'll see the file extension when you go to save it.

How does the system run in SAFEMODE?

Built a new computer a few days ago and seems to run ok accept for the 3rd time now the screen has gone all fuzzy and as i cant select anything on screen i can only assume system has crashed too. This seems to happen randomly and normally after the computer has been running a while today it has been running for about 3 hours then did it.

Im running off the on board graphics card on my ASUS p8h67M-pro motherboard...i have a grapohics card which i will be using soon once the correct cables come for it.

Does anyone know if this is a faulty monitor or motherboard/graphics issue? im not running any games/video when this has happened also have a 450 psu.

infact the full spec is:

Motherboard ASUS P8H67-M PRO
Processer - i5 2300
Ram - Corsair 2x 4gb
Powersupply - 450W
Graphics Card - Gainward GeForce GTX 460
Monitor - LG Flatron W1946 16:9

Answer:Computer crashes with fuzzy screen

I suspect at first look that your PSU is under powered but would need to check it. What is the model and make of the PSU. How many hard drives and what make are they and likewise for the CD/DVD drives. What version of Windows are you running.

Hi, thanks for the help before hand.

I play World of Warcrack and things have been fine since I started playing a few months ago. Then all of a sudden today, I logged in; the load screen did it's thing and I was in game for a min or so and then my computer reset. I waited for the 'reboot' and logged back in to the game, the load screen hit and did it's thing and right when the little bar on the bottom of the screen let me know I was about to jump into the game, my computer restarted again. This happens every time now and only when I try to play WoW. I'm not sure what info you guys need and I'm fairly computer retarded. I've tried updating my drivers and direct x and I'm not even sure if I actually did it or not. Any help would be great.

Answer:Computer crashes right after load screen.

First things first. Do you get a BSoD error? As in, the horrid big blue screen we love to hate...? If you do, please post the stop error here.

If not, start by doing a total and complete uninstall of WoW, and do a full reboot. Then go find your installation discs and do a clean install, update it all the way (yeah, a huge pain, I know), and report back with results.

If the complete reinstall didn't help, we're going to know a little bit more about your computer, both hardware and software, and if we do, I'll give you a list of what I want to know and where to find it.

Hi there,I?m going to try to explain this the best I can :-) Ive been having problems with my laptop for about two months now.
It all started when I realized that I cannot backup any files, the whole (D:) have disappeared.

Then a few programs(skype, power point, internet explorer, youtube downloader..etc) have stopped working and i would get a message saying that the program is not responding or something like that every time I tried to use it.

Then my computer was not able to update anymore, even the important updates.

Later, whenever i was writing something in my mother language(Slovak) and i would try to use diacritics button(one next to back space) the pc would freeze.

And now every time I turn the laptop on,it works for about 2 minutes, then the internet explorer starts automatically(even though it never used to start automatically) and the computer crashes into the blue screen.

Maybe I should add that I use windows 7 home premium and the laptop works ok in safe mode.

Hi guys,

I'm totally new to this forum, but I have encountered a problem that I really hope you can help me with.

have an MSI laptop that runs Windows 7 32 bit version. Recently it has a tendency to reboot when I come back to use it after the screen has switched off. When I get back, there is the blue screen and then it asks whether I want to reboot as normal. Upon restart it says that Windows closed down unexpectadly etc.

I have tried to look at the crash dump files, but I must admit I am not that much closer to understand what the problem is. It happens a few times a day. Could it be related to the HDMI cable that I have recently purchased and occasionally plug in/out during the day in order to watch movies over the TV? However, it crashes also when the cable is not in.

I would be really grateful if you guys could help me understand the crash dump file and the cause of these crashes and what to do about it (is it software or hardware related?). I have looked for driver updates (everything seems to be updated) and also ran anti-malware and anti-virus programmes (found one trojan that is now gone).

Here is an example of the crash dump file:

I have had this problem for some time, and it's begun to happen so often to the point that I'm sick of trying to find my own solutions for it.

When I run games such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Fallout 4, or intensive programs such as Adobe Premiere, I seem to run into an issue where my computer crashes after some time. The game/program will be running fine for a bit, then crash. The audio will then seem to glitch out, and each monitor changes to a random color (seen here).

My CPU had been getting high temperatures (around 80C) so I thought that was the problem. I purchased a CPU cooler so now the temperatures rest around 50C - 60C during intensive games, but I still get the crashes.

My GPU temperatures don't seem to be getting abnormally high. They looked like they were around 60C when I last was monitoring during GTAV.

I have tried removing one stick of RAM, and then swapping it out for the other, but that hasn't helped at all. I used the AMD Crimson (I believe that's the name) software to update my drivers, and I still get the issue.

Attached is (what I believe to be) a report of my computer specs for CPU-Z.

For the past week now, my screen has been bright blue whenever there's a white background, as well as vertical red lines through it on a black background.
Also last night I received the blue screen of death, and the culprit that caused that was the IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL problem. I can only assume they're related. So this would point to a hardware problem, correct? Or could it be my drivers are bad? I should also mention that when hooked to another monitor, the screen is fine and colors are perfect.
It also hasn't been blue all the time, as it comes and goes, though usually it's there more often that it isn't in these past few days. I have tried everything I can think of, apart from taking the computer apart, but I did get as far as taking the screen frame off...and no problems there.
So I do wonder if I can do something with the BIOS to fix this, somehow update the drivers even though Windows says they don't need to be, or just something.
Oh yeah, my Windows Update won't work either, so maybe lack of updates is causing it? I just don't know anymore.

Answer:Computer screen is blue plus crashes

if this is a laptop, the screen may be failing. Especially if an external monitor works fine.

I have a problem with my computer in the last few weeks where up to 4/5 times a day my computer crashes. There is a momentary freeze and the screen goes black and 'DVI No Signal' flashes up on my monitor. This has happened in Chrome, in games and when the computer has been idle so it is not an application issue. I am fairly certain that it's nothing to do with the monitor as if I press the Caps Lock button on the keyboard after the crash the light does not come on. Also if I am playing again the sound will freeze.
I am running Windows 10 Home on a Dell XPS 8700.
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: AMD Radeon ™ R9 200 Series
Monitor Model: VE247
Thanks in advance.

I still see Daemon Tool drivers on your system. Download Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems and make sure everything has been removed. If Revo Uninstaller doesn't find anything then browse to C:\windows\system32 and delete that driver.

I'm using windows vista home premium desktop
processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 dual Core processor 4400+ 2.30 Hz
RAM: 1918 MB
system type: 32-bit

well recently the computer has started crashing and when it crashes the screen turns all blocky and no matter what I do it doesn't respond, so I restart it and its fine for a few hours or a few days and it keeps crashing. So I defrag the C drive and that didn't solve the problem, later I scanned the computer for a virus and still nothing. So for a last resort I formatted the computer hard drive making it new. For a day it was fine but then it crashed again.

Can anyone help me please
