Runtime Error With Intel Media Server

Question: Runtime Error With Intel Media Server

To anyone who can assist:

I have a HP media center with MS XP SP2. Each time I login, I get the following message that will always come back after clicking "OK":

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...elDH\Intel Media Server\Media Server\bin\mediaserver.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications's support team for more information.
I have done the following:

- Delete any and all new programs recently installed
- Purchased and ran RegCure
- Ran Norton
- Research Intel.com for help
- Searched the Web for hours

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Tony

Preferred Solution: Runtime Error With Intel Media Server

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have also been getting this message not when I sign in but when I run a scan with Superantispyware instead. I posted about it in the Antivirus, Firewall Forum this morning prior to seeing this post. I am using Comodo Forewall Pro v3 latest update and although not sure for certain I believe it is something to do with Comodo.

Out of interest what Firewall are you using?.

I had a very bizarre problem today. I downloaded about 50 .mpg files and put them into a folder on my desktop. I opened one of them, and it worked fine, but after that every time I even opened the folder that the files were in, only half of the thumbnails would appear and then it would tell me that I had a Visual C++ Runtime Error, from explorer.exe aborting. At the same time as this, windows would pop up a little message saying that my virtual memory was low. Later, it popped up a message saying that my Media Player needed to be reinstalled and that my Norton Antivirus needed to be reinstalled. Then it disabled my Norton Firewall and my Norton Antivirus. Lastly, I started getting error messages telling me that my soundcard needed to be configured to handle voice files, by enabling hardware acceleration. The only problem with that was that Windows would not let me access the advanced sound settings!

I am running Windows XP (all patches up to date), 256 MB Ram, 75 Gig HD - so I figured the "low" virtual memory had to be an error. I tried tripling the virual memory to 1GB and also tried letting Windows automatically set the virtual memory size, but neither of these fixed the problem. My immediate thought was that it was a virus or trojan, but Norton VirusScan, Swat-It Trojan Scanner, and System Suite VirusScan all failed to detect anything, and all of them have their definitions up to date.

I ran a Google search to see what other things I should try and none of the... Read more

Hello. I'm having a weird problem with media center.
This pops up, always (I'm not even using MC)
When I close the window it pops up again.

(If the immage above does not appear, click on the link below)
http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=15954913yq8.png

This happened after this:

1.I bought a new blu-ray disc drive (internal)

2.The BIOS had a problem recognising it, so I updated it.

3.After updating the BIOS, the windows installation started up with
a blue screen of death .

4.I repaired the windows installation.

5.Windows runs fine, as well as the blu-ray drive. But the pop-up still occurs.
I am sure this is some weird error, appearing because of the repair. (Daemon tools had to be re-installed as well.)

Any clues? I will try to locate the .exe on the Windows disc, and replace it..

Thanks for reading.

It first started with media Classic player - runtime error !
-then I tried to copy a VOB file from dvd to hardrive C:
-File system error ( -2147351799 )

When I tried to shut down the pc it came up with this message
- End Program - Active Movie
-------------------------------------------------------

On my other pc I do not get any of these problems
and I can easily copy that VOB file to my hardrive.
---------------------------------------------------

So what does that mean ?
I do not see how there can be a problem after I did the following checks on the problem pc-

1. Ran the latest AVG
2. Ran the latest Malwarebytes
3. Ran chkdsk

no problems or infections found, - please does anybody have a clue on how to fix this problem ?

Answer:3 errors that have a link -runtime error media Classic player

Sounds like the PC may just be having trouble reading the disc.

What do I need in order to fix this problem? This pop-up message appears when I patched my game

Answer:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error" error message

According to the error message the application (the patch you installed) isn't working right and for you to contact the folks who made the patch. I'm guessing that would be the support team for Audition Dance Battle or perhaps the support folks for all of e-games.com.ph

::E-Games - Audition Dance Battle::

E-Games Portal

Let them know exactly what the error message says, the specific ID number for the patch you installed, specific info about your computer (make, model, version of Windows you're using, amount of RAM, CPU, etc) so they can figure out what's wrong. In the meantime, you could try uninstalling the patch while waiting for a response. Sorry I can't be more help.

Recently a few users at my work were upgraded to Intel Macs. Everything seems to be working fine except transferring larger files (larger then 100mb). They are able to send smaller file fine and even large files to a different server that is running Windows 2003.

Is there a solution to this problem other then upgrading to 2003?

There where a few files that did make it all the way through but I was unable to get a second file to transfer. I am getting the error -43, which means the either the file or transfer location are missing.

There is a process running on my computer called csrss.exe

I went to http://www.processlibrary.com and looked it up and came up with 2 different things. One says it is a Trojan and needs to be removed. The same exact process name also says it is Microsoft client server runtime server and SHOULD NOT be removed.

How I am supposed to tell the difference so I do not make a mistake by either leaving it alone or removing it???

Answer:Process: csrss.exe (trojan or Microsoft Client Server Runtime Server?)

Greetings,
Due to an error with Windows Update ["WindowsUpdate_8024001F" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" which 'magically' fixed itself after a number of rebooting because of the the runtime error mentioning here] I performed a clean boot following the steps
mentioned here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
Normally, upon restarting, I am brought to the login screen with my user icon, and after entering my password I am able to log on.
Upon restarting after configuring msconfig.exe for a clean boot, I am stopped at the login screen. My user icon and the password field does not load, and after about 30~50 seconds, the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error window pops
up. If I press OK, the error window disappears but the user icon and password field does not appear. Wait another 30~50 seconds, the  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error window appears again. This seem to repeat endlessly.
EDIT: I have never had runtime error before, and the error isn't popping up again, unless i configure for clean boot.

I was able to log back in by reverting the changes in msconfig.exe during Safe Mode, and so that is not my question.

I want to ask, what are some possible reasons for this error window?

I downloaded a video using Freemake Video Downloader. When I tried to play it with Windows Media Player 11 (file version 11.0.5721.5145/WMP_11.061018-2006--I copied what was displayed in the file version), I get an error message, telling me the Intel ITU H.264 (H264) codec is missing. The video is in AVI format (first time I've had a problem playing this format!). Where do I find this codec and install it so the video will play? Should I NOT convert videos downloaded with Freemake to AVI and let them in FLV format? Running OS Windows XP Professional with SP 3.0. BTW, I am able to play the video with Media Player Classic: Home Cinema.

Answer:Windows Media Player Error: Intel ITU H.264 (H264) codec not installed

Oh, guy, WMP can not play avi or flv format, you need to install the codec (google search "h.264 codec"), or convert them to wmv files.
Or download a VLC player, it supports playing a range of source video formats. try it.

Hello Tech Guys! I came this site because I was so skillfully helped about four years ago dealing with another windows issue. The site looks great.

I am not computer illiterate, but advanced I am not either. I installed Microsoft Office 2007and Microsoft Desktop Search yesterday. I didn't like Desktop Search and uninstalled it. I also changed some start up configurations with msconfig. This morning when restarting my computer an error message came up:

___________________________________________________________________

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error
Program c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe

R6025

Pure Virtual Function Call

___________________________________________________________________
I have ran norton and it works fine. Once I click OK on the error and the Norton box on the toolbar disappears. Then I click on the icon and it comes back up. I don't know if this is a problem or not.

I have run a full scan, windoc, and a couple other programs to rid the registry files. I ran RegCure and ParetoLogic. Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill, but it does run a little slower at start up and always gives that error message.

Also when I look at Windows Task Manager, the svchost.exe (system) sometimes is running at 58,000K to 27,000K. Is that right?

Let me know what you think and what I should do. I want to thank you in advance for just being such a great tool in our internet world. Taylor

I've done my search on the boards and found advice on both the 'software' board and the 'spyware' board.

Looking for advice on whether I should assume problem is caused by malware - if so I'll go through the steps as posted in the spyware sticky. If not, then I'll go through the steps posted by 'kadavill' on the 'software board' (to go through add-ons and disable)

My specifics:

Running Windows XP SP2 (let me know if you need more system info)

Error message:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application?s support team for more information.

Thanks for your help,

Answer:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error for IExplorer

If you think the problem could be malware related, follow the steps below and we will find out.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Hey World!I have a Windows Vista Home Premium. With all the updates etc. When i switch on my computer, it loads up, then on the loading screen with the little wheel that goes round and round, it kinda stays there fro unusually long. Then an Error Message comes up that reads:"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."Then the whole thing freezes and does nothing and i end up having to pull the plug. Now, iv tried a couple of things:Iv loaded it up on Safe Mode and everything is fine. However, SOMETIMES, when i restart it works in normal mode, but not all the time, and it is usually a one off, then it goes back to being broke.I have used CCleaner to find and fix all registry problems, but that doesnt cure it.I have gone back to a restore point, and it works until i restart it.The internet doesnt really offer any help: it just uses it as an opputunity to advertise products which are as good as CCleaner. What i would like to know, is wat program is causing this problem, and how i should fix it.Cos i hardly think turning off all the startup objects while in Safe Mode is a good solution, while it stops the problem from happening, it also stops things from loading that i want to load.Any Help most grateful.ThanksThe Doctor

Hi, I've searched endlessly on the forums here, microsoft support, and any other technical support forum Google could direct me to and still have not found a solution. I'm not much of a computer guru, but hopefully i can explain my problem enough for you to help me. If i need to show any logs then please tell me how to and i'd be more than happy to help you help me.
On to my problem.

While playing 1701 A.D. (it happens most often with this game, but with other games also) after anywhere from half hour to an hour my game locks up (i can still use the mouse and easily ctrl-alt-kill the program) and this message is displayed:
I have vista on an Hp laptop DV9000 series laptop, my computer is more than strong enough to handle this game. There is also no chance it's over heating. Ive tried right clicking on the exe file and changing compatibility, it didn't make a difference. i downloaded new drivers but that might not have worked properly, i have to install them from hp and it never installs right. The problem existed before i tried to download a new driver and still exist. I also scanned my computer with Trend micro Anti Virus and spyware and have found no possible causes. If there is anything you need me to do please let me know. I appreciate your help.

I've uninstalled & tried to re-install Webroot but before it finished I get the Runtime error. Does anyone know how to stop this error from freezing up my software? thanks.

Recently I've purchased a brand new HP Pavilion dv2500 series laptop, equipped with Vista as its OS, it was working fine (and in Vista terms, that's not so good..) until about two weeks ago when I started having more problems with Vista.
These are the problems which I believe to be related.

I get three of these error boxes consecutively at startup,

and one of these error boxes when I right click on the desktop, followed by (once closed) the entire desktop crashing and restarting (not the system, just the interface) most of the time some programs are closed by this process.

The problem is that there is no specific application target.

The message appears now and then, evev after I close the first appearance. I couldn't discern any pattern.

Answer:Need fix for Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error

Hi,

Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:

1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
2.Software problem.

If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en

If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding.

For your convenience:

Clean Boot

1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
4. Restart the computer and test the issue.

Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then cl... Read more

Hello everyone

I keep getting this error message, when I try to download Adobe Reader 8 from Adobe's website. The message reads as follows : Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Interent Explorer\iexplore.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I do not know what this is or what is causing it. But right before this message appears, I get a message asking about a proxy? I have no Idea what a proxy is. So I click no for the proxy. and that is when the error message occurs. As far as I know of I do not need a proxy to download any programs. Could this be causing the error message?

Error reads as follows...

"Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

This happens when I try to run internet explorer. Firefox works fine. This error started after I installed limewire. Bad, Bad boy. It's now unistalled forever. I believe everything is now cleaned up I use Norton AV & PCTools spyware doctor, however I can't get around this error message. Seems like a C++ bug/virus is trying to or has attached itself to iexplore.exe.

Any help on this? Please?!!

Thanks, rnaef

I'm not very computer smart and I don't understand why this has suddenly happened and what I can do to fix it.

I would appreciate any help.

Welcome to Seven Forums MissTottenham. Can you post the complete, exact error code? The generic "this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" is unfortunately very common. If you can post a screenshot of the error, even better.

This is an error in Internet Explorer. Have you installed any plugins or anything new tith Inetrnet Explorer? Itr seems it may be currupt somehow. You should try searching on your XP cd to find Iexplorer.exe and replacing the defective Iexplorer. It's located in C:\WINDOWS\Program Files\Internet Explorer. This should fix it.

Looks like it might be a Spyware Trojan (Troj/Loony-J).

I would start by going thru the steps outlined here, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

That should get rid of it. If not, ask for help in that (Spyware)Forum.

Hope this helps.

You could try doing a System Restore to a date prior to the Adobe install -- this might be a quick fix if something didn't get installed correctly.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/

---------------------------------------------------------------

It's likely to be an application error or conflict. Back in Win98 days installed games like Solitaire frequently had conflicts with installed antivirus programs or certain other apps.

Try testing this issue using "clean boot" techniques -- it seems like a good candidate for that if it happens predictably.

You might want to even start in Safe Mode first and see if it happens there -- if not, you've ruled out a problem with system files, including the game itself.
First, restart in Safe Mode if necessary -- (tap the f8 key promptly on startup and choose the Safe Mode option from the boot menu) or Normal mode

Then:

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup items" on the general page.
Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as w... Read more

Hi there,

Got a problem which has developed over past few days. Tried to use HP image zone which came with HP 2350 series printer/scanner. Hadn't used it in a long time and when I tried to access it received 0xc0000135 error. Got in touch with HP. They advised uninstalling the software, downloading .net framework 1.1 and reinstalling. Even though I have .net 1.1, they said reinstall it. I have uninstalled the printer and tried to download .net framework 1.1 from Microsoft downloads site. When I try to install it I am getting the following message :

Visual C++ runtime library

Runtime error

Program C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe

The application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

I thought it might be a windows installer problem so I downloaded Windows installer 3.1 with no problem.

Done all the usual scans for viruses, malware, spyware and found nothing.

Can anyone help ?

Cheers,

Aidanski

I am getting the same error message, often. I just saw on Microsoft that there is an update to the Windows Installer program. If the version number is 3.1.4000.2435, the computer has Windows Installer 3.1 (v2) which is the most current. So you might have to update, see link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898628/Windows InstallerI already have 3.1(v2) loaded, but I am getting Runtime Errors regularly from Norton System Works/anti-virus. I am running XP/home, also using Webroot Spy/Virus and System Mechanic Pro 6. I update and scan regularly, but get no findings, even using the Trend freebie. Hello! For the past 2 years, which is since I bought this computer, whenever I try to open a file into WMP, sometimes it won't load and pops up an error saying "Server Execution Failed". I did everything I could like go where you uninstall programs and disable WMP and then re-enabling it, put the setting to automatic in the services.msg, EVERYTHING! I've had enough of this error, please, for the love of god, someone help me. I had some help from Microsoft but they told me to do a "blood test" or whatever and send them the logs and never got a reply back so they never helped me to fix it.

Hi,

I recently brought a Dlink DNS-320 and have searched the relevant forums for that product but all the solutions for resolving a 'map network drive error' have been unsuccessful.

I have tried mapping the drive on this product using the IP address and I can ping the IP address for this device, the device also appears on my network via UPnP but I unfortunately I get a error message when trying to map the network drive the DNs-320 also came with a storage utility to map drives but that doesn't work either.

I have gone through previous posts and tested this without my firewall on or changing the TCP/IP settings. So If anyone can offer any potential help that would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Within your D-Link NAS's settings under Users, did you create the User Names and Passwords that's identical to all the User Names and Passwords of the all Users from your network? These are the ones that will have to access the shared folders in your NAS. NAS folders will also need to be created and then after you have created the Users credentials you will assign these Users the access permission (Read, Read/Write, None).

I have two user accounts on my Windows Vista home basic. I installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware early this afternoon. Works fine on my account, but the other account after trying to open it I get runtime error 0 and runtime error 440 automation. Any suggestions? Should I uninstall and reinstall or bad idea? I did detect infected files when I ran it earlier.

Answer:runtime error 0/runtime error 440 automation

Just uninstall it and reinstall. If you're worried about infected files, try running another malware program first and see what it says. A Squared Free is another good one or Spybot. Do you have an Antivirus program installed as well? If so, run that and see if you can detect anything.

Looking through my Add / Remove Programs list I noticed that I have the following two programs installed ie,Windows Media Player 11 & Windows Media Format 11 Runtime. I realise that I need WMP on my PC but both of these programs are the same in size ie 11.16MB.

My questions are " Do I need the both of them or are they just the same?".

Depends on where it is running from and what the file name of the process is?

Are you referring to c:\windows\system32\csrss.exe

It is a valid Windows Process. See http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/csrss/

hi everyone.

i am running windows xp media centre edition 2005 on a toshiba qosmio f20.

recently bought an xbox 360 and started using the file sharing functionality of media centre.

couldn't play xvid / divx encoded media so decided to upgrade to media player 11 which encodes the media on the fly and includes the file sharing functionality required to work with xbox 360.

unfortunately, media player 11 uses windows media format runtime 11 which seems to cause the repetive message 'media centre receiver services has encountered a problem and needs to close.....' to appear on screen every 10 secs.

i uninstalled wmp11 and the runtime environment that came with it and all went back to normal, except i couldn't share xvid/divx with xbox.

tried using zune too but this also uses media format 11 which brough the annoying error message back.

can anyone tell me how i can use wmp11 without getting this error message? i can't understand why it's happening.

alternatively, is there another media player that doesn't use media format runtime 11 but will allow me to share my xvid / divx with my 360?

thanks guys... this driving me potty i'm totally wet behind the ears with this stuff.

Answer:Media Format 11 Runtime Problems

szAppName : ehrecvr.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2715.2773 szModName : unknown
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 23c91bd9

and the technical info from the error report reads :

Hi Guys,
I am having a nasty problem with the above. It seems that the media format 11 runtime is the only thing installed on my pc. I was having problems with the media player, so I installed what I thought was WM 10 and it turned out to be WM 11, so I took it out. I could not seem to make it work just showing an mpg.
Now, I cannot remove the WM format 11 runtime. I have tried all of the MS solutions and the only option is to rollback this version which does nothing at all but loops. I have had no success so far, so I am asking for your help resolving this problem.
Windows XP, Media Center Ed. ver 2002, SP3
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+
2.20 GHz, 1.93 GB Ram
Although it says it is a 64 processor, I can only use system 32 software. I have no idea why that is.
Any suggestions?

Iam trying to remove stuff of my computer to try and speed it up a bit I have noticed Windows media format 11 runtime with a file size of 1069MB can anyone tell me what this file is for and can i delete it and why is it so big

Thanks Daveg

Answer:windows media format 11 runtime

Windows Media Format 11 Runtime is required to decode/encode Windows Media Video (WMV, WM) and Windows Media Audio (WMA) files without installing Windows Media Player 11. If you remove it you won't be able to play WMA11 sound files or WMV11 video files without re-installing it.

However, it should not be anywhere near as large as 1069MB. The download size is only around 8MB, no way would that increase to 1069MB when installed.
I've no idea what's going on there.

Answer:Can't run "Windows Media player" server exclution failed error came!

Well, you have tried most of the things recommended. Have you run the System File Checker? This should restore original system files

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Also, a repair install should correct this

Repair Install

You have changed so much that you now have a different error, therefore I'd suggest one of the above. For future reference, while you had the original error, THIS may have worked as well.

Hi, this is a system file and having two instances of it in processes is normal, you cannot access this files location through the task manager, this is also normal.

Greetings,
I am currently running XP Home with SP2. Recently I have noticed that when I right click on a .txt file and scroll down to 'Open With' one of the options is to open it with 'Client Server Runtime Process'. When I try to open the file with this it gives me an error stating that this application cannot be run in Win32 mode. Any idea what this is and wether it is likely to be creating any other problems with my system???

Cheers

Answer:'Client Runtime Server Process' in 'Open With' menu

Hello Boxy and Welcome to TSF

Your system may be infected with the W32/Sdbot-LD Worm. Please follow these instructions

Scan your pc with one of these free online scanners:

Panda ActiveScan

RAV AntiVirus

Housecall. Be sure to put a check the box beside AutoClean.

You may also want to post a HJT log for one of our experts to look over.

Download and install: HiJackThis 1.99.1.

(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders or Desktop. A good place to make a folder would be in My Documents, as this is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)

Then doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Do A System Scan And Save Log". Make sure all Windows and Browsers are closed.
When the scan is finished, best to save your text file in the same folder as where you put HiJackthis.

Create a New Thread and include a fresh HJT log in HiJackThisLog Help Forum and Copy/Paste the info from your saved Hijackthis log file into your new topic.

According to Maximum PC, this is the best OS to use when creating a media/file server. I am considering getting a license, but I need to know the following:

I hear its a real task to set up. Anybody know any good guides?
Will it accept the WinTV PVR 150 (non-MCE)? To make it simpler: Will it accept the hardware I have that works with Windows XP Professional?

Answer:Windows Server 2003 for my home's media server

It was no harder than XP to install. Now, setting up could be a different story as that wasn't my job.

Be aware, though, that a lot of software will not install on that OS. It recognizes it as a "server" os and aborts the installation.

Hi there, I stupidly Uninstaled DirectX Media Runtime 5.1. Clicked on it by accident when deleting certain programs. Is this an essential program to have. I have Windows 7, an HP2000 Notebook PC. My processor is an AMD E2-1800 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 170 Ghz, my Ram is 4.0 GB with 3.6 usable. I have a 64 bit system.

Now I do not know if it is related, but when I am playing the game Second Life, after 5 or 10 minutes my computer screen goes completely black. Sometimes I lose sound before. Sometimes my computer makes a noise and then the screen goes black....sometimes it is silent and then goes black. On start up I get a black screen for a few moments and then everything is ok.

Any ideas on how I can fix? Thanks I appreciate any help.

I could select the tversity one and access my library and stream through my TV just fine. But 3 weeks ago It stopped working and it would only show up with Verizon Fios STB. But yesterday after 23 days I went on verizon Fios livechat support and asked them to reset the username and password of my fios router as I was unable to login into it. Stuff that will be connecting to it are 3 Win7 pc's, Win8 pro tablet and 3 android tablets. 2 of the android tablets are for kids also.

What is the best OS for this? I was looking at WHS 2012 but not against Linux, windows 7 or 8. Also looking at email server in the future probably.

Hi Qosmio fans

I have a problem with my Media Center.
When I try to view a video I downloaded the screen goes black and stays that way and when I CTRL ALT DEL out of it I get a (ehshell.exe-common language runtime debugging) comes up.

First it says application has generated an exception that couldn?t be handled process id=0xc60(3168) thread id=0x8c8 (2286).
It gives me to options click ok to terminate or cancel to debug.
When I click cancel to debug it says Registered JIT debugger is not available error code of 0x2(2) check settings cordbg.exe la 0xc60 comes up.

Hope some one can help me with this problem and hope it?s not to technical.
I?m not that good on it.

Answer:Media Center issue on Qosmio G series - ehshell.exe runtime debugging

> When I try to view a video I downloaded the screen goes black and stays that way
Does this happen only playing THIS video or downloaded video???
Did you check if you can play other video files properly???

I goggled a little bit but unfortunately, there are no many cases regarding this error messages.
I think it?s simply something wrong with some files, registry keys or the OS is simply muddled up?. This happens and to be honest it?s nothing unusual in the wide word of computing systems?

You could firstly try to clean the OS using the CCLeaner. It cleans the OS files and the registry. Furthermore it would be advisable to install all available patches and hotfixes..

If this does not help, it would be very interesting to know if the same error would appears on clean preinstalled OS?

So as you see it?s really not easy to say why the error message appears? some investigations procedures would be necessary?

Good luck

Hello all,

First of all I'm new to the forum, but have come for many different issues, and have been unable to find any actual threads about my particular issue. I have been racking my brain for about a week now trying to figure out where I'm going wrong or if there is just no possible way to do this.

I have an E3000 router, and have connected my 2TB WD HDD to the storage port, it used to be connected directly to the computer and thought I would give the router a try so I don't have to have my desktop on at all times. I have been using the play to function to play videos to my Samsung 7000 series, which uses DLNA.

At first, the issue started off that the play to function was just not appearing. To resolve this issue, I did a little digging around and found this post, and by using method 2.

Libraries - Include a Network Folder

Now the play to function is appearing on the videos as normal, however when I attempt to play the videos the play to window hangs up with Media Not Available.
Thanks in advance for any input,
Jeff

The subject message pops up any time I attempt to open my IE8 browser using Windows XP and set to my home page "ATT.Yahoo". When I click "OK" in the message, IE closes and tries to recover, but with the same results each time. I know
there is a method to reset IE9, but can't tell if it also pertains to IE8 since it can't be opened.

Answer:"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" "Runtime Error! Program: C:Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Hi,
the first step in troubleshooting IE issues is to test in noAddons Mode.
toolbars.google.com - download and install the latest IE compatible version of the Google Toolbar.
for consumer help with IE select the Help>Online Support menu from IE and follow the prompts for your windows and IE versions. thx.Rob^_^

Here's what I believe is the culprit:

http://www.arikfr.com/blog/facebook-virus.html

and the error message i got after i downloaded it was Runtime Error 21 at 00DC49D2 (ncsjapi43.exe)

Now I can't install iTunes because of this:

Or Oblivion because of this

Now, I believe those two problems are linked and have something to do with the facebook virus which i have not gotten rid of.

My PC works fine, i was able to do system restore in Safe Mode at the time of the Runtime error but I don't recall running any Command Prompts.

My guess is that it's a really bad registry problem.

Can someone help me figure this out and walk me through it? Perhaps via MSNmessenger, skype, or AOL or on here? Many thanks.

Please help

Titel of error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Error: Runtime Error! (program path here) R6002 - Floating point support not loaded.

Hiii,

I've been experiencing a problem ever since i decided to re-install Windows 7 just to have a new fresh copy installed instead of one I've had installed for a year now.

Before Re-installing windows i never experienced this problem.

(I now have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Whenever i Try to open, Some programs, (not all show this error)
(CCleaner, Snowbird, Windows media player classic. etc.)
Keep op showing this Error and they wont start.

I've been trying to find a solution to this problem for 2 days straight but didnt find one,

-I tried. Cleaning my registry with 4 different programs. (the only solution people give on this topic on the internet but wont work for me)
-Reinstalled windows7 ultimate about 6 times,
Everytime i tried to find out what was causing it by rebooting everytime i installed something or changed something and check if everything still worked.

The first time it started happening after i installed Directx 11
tried to uninstall it but was kinda unpossible even with third party software.
then i reinstalled windows and just left directx out.
then when i installed a program i installed before direct x but everything worked fine after i installed it before.
but this time after that install (Windows media player classic) it caused the error,
and i tried to find out by reinstalling windows and ... Read more

Answer:Error: Runtime Error! R6002 - Floating point support not loaded??

First, uninstall all the programs that are giving you problems through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. Then, uninstall all Visual C++ Redistributables software through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program.

Once you have finished uninstalling the software, install the following:Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86)
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86)
Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86)Then install their updates through Windows Update. Then install the software again that you had been having problems with.

Also, stop using registry cleaners to try to fix problems; they just create more problems:Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.
