Need to find Toshiba Satellite A100-033 drivers? Do they still exist?

Question: Need to find Toshiba Satellite A100-033 drivers? Do they still exist?

Hello all. I am very new here. By very new I mean this is my first time posting on a Tech forum. I very often search for answers and techspot.com appears a lot with solutions to practically every question I can think of.
Today I am stumped and running short on time.

My colleague from work, who is quite poor with computers and setting up and stuff, so I told him I would help him by removing Vista from his system and installing windows XP.
I know that this day and age I should be upgrading him to Windows 7, but I dont have that CD.

What I have done is this:

Installed a Windows XP Professional for a DELL onto his Toshiba Satellite A100-033.
I already knew (thanks to forums) that I would need to install the drivers for many of the devices after Windows XP installed. Oh I should mention, When installing XP I deleted the partition that originally hosted Vista, and formatted the drive to NTSF (forgive me if the arconym isnt exactly correct).
After installing XP, I searched Device Manager for the yellow ? marks. I currently have 7 yellows:

+ ? Other devices
- ? Ethernet Controller
- ? Ethernet Controller
- ? Mass Storage Controller
- ? PCI Device
- ? SM Bus Controller
- ? Video Controller
- ? Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

I have searched tirelessly for the drivers.
Toshiba website said thhis model is discontinued.
However, I thought I could find them somewhere else in the WWWeb.
Unfortunately I could not.
I found some unlicensed program which supposedly searches through your computer and identifies exactly which drivers are required then installs them.
This program failed to install (some error about a missing file), only after it failed to install I searched its properties to find it was unlicensed so i deleted it then and there.

Either way. End result.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 with Windows XP Professional installed and many devices without drivers.
Please can someone help, I dont know where to look anymore and I am due to return his laptop on Monday (3 days).

PS: I have access to uTorrent, but would prefer not to use unless required.

Preferred Solution: Need to find Toshiba Satellite A100-033 drivers? Do they still exist?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Need to find Toshiba Satellite A100-033 drivers? Do they still exist?

If the PC you are working on was bought with Vista pre-installed on, then installing XP should be ok as far as the hardware is concerned.
You can try a program to automatically do the searching for you, but it's not always 100% correct, and you may be left with a few to find.
This one seems to work fairly well;
http://www.driveridentifier.com/
You will need the product key that was supplied with the installation disc, to activate windows.
You should be able to get the Video card driver from either Nvidia or AMD (or SIS), from the information in 'Device manager'. the 'update driver' option can work, but sometimes has been known to download an old version of the driver.

There is a download for somthing that i thought was the LAN driver and after i downloaded this file (using the wireless) and extracted it there is no driver file in the archive all it has is a few dlls and an uninstall application but nothing else.

Can someone please assist me with this? i am in dire need for this driver because we have to use the cabled connection in the classrooms.

HELP ME :)

Answer:Satellite A100-Sk9 PSAASC - Lan drivers does not exist?

Where did you find this LAN driver?
It seems that this unit was designed for the Australian market and therefore you should check the Toshiba Australian page.

However, you have already downloaded the driver.
You could try to install it in the device manger. Simply enter the device manager, select the lan card and choose the option ?driver install?
Then choose the dowloaded driver on the HDD and finish the procedure...

Alright, so I recently had to install windows xp again on my laptop. I've solved most of my driver issues but I can't for the life of me find the drivers I need to re-enable hibernation. To be clear, when I first got this laptop hibernation/standby/etc. were all enabled and now they don't even appear as options, anywhere. I'm assuming I just don't have the proper drivers and need to know where I can find them, but if there's some other reason for my problem I'd really like to know what it is. Thanks!

Answer:Drivers for toshiba satellite a100-ta2

Update your Video/Display driver and hibernation will appear

Hi All,

I have a matter of Concern with my Branded Laptop. This system has been preinstalled with Windows Vista and its not a very friendly Application for newcomers like us. So I really need to get the Windows Xp installed on this Machine for me and my Family.

Yes ... I tried the Site at " toshiba-asia.com " but could not find the Drivers nor the Manual for this Product. Appreciate from all you Computer Guru's if you could help me find this Product Manual and its drivers for Xp, so that I could install them on this Laptop.

Your Assistance will be of Immense Help. THanks

Answer:Solved: Toshiba Satellite A100 XP Drivers

There probably are none. Toshiba are the only ones that would have drivers for their proprietary hardware devices.

Vista is a far superior operating system and supports the new hardware which you can't use with XP. It can be made to look and act almost identical to XP.

Hiya,

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100(PSAA3E), which I just did a fresh install of Windows Xp on.
I stupidly didnt back-up the drivers (doh!!) and now cant find the drivers for the Video Controller which is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m series (rc410). I managed to find out that through a very helpful post by one of your members(who I am ashamed to say I cant remember his name) who told how to identify the part/video controller, ie who manufactured it!
I figure that these drivers are archived with Toshiba but I have been through their site and cant find it anywhere.
Any help would greatly appreciated!

Hi!

I have a problem to find a driver for the multimedia keys (6 easy keys) on my Satellite A100-979. I have Windows Vista 64-bit and this Notebook should be vista capable. Can somebody help me? Maybe you have an idea, to solve this problem.

Answer:Satellite A100-979: Cannot find Vista 64bit driver for Toshiba buttons

>this Notebook should be vista capable

Of course it?s Vista capable. You have installed the Vista on the Satellite A100-979 and it runs.

You ask for drivers for Vista 64bit version? Well, unfortunately but there is nothing to do!
It should be common that Toshiba does not provide any 64bit drivers; neither for XP nor for Vista. :(

Hi.

I have some problem finding the drivers and installing the drivers in order to get my laptop to work...
It's Satellite A200-1ml

Can someone help?
I can't even manage to install the common modules...

Answer:Satellite A100-1ML - Where to find the XP drivers

If I?m not mistaken the Satellite A200-1ML belongs to the PSAE0 series.
Why you don?t choose this series?

The driver download form you will find on the Toshiba European driver page.
Last but not least you have to update the BIOS to the XP version if you want to use the XP on this Vista notebook!

Hi!

A friend of mine has this model of laptop (or another name: PSAA8E) and needs to reinstall the Operating System. The problem is that she does not have the drivers and I cannot them anywhere.
Either I search on the EU or the US Toshiba site, there aren't any A100 drivers, only A300or higher.

And on Toshiba.support there are 7 models of A100 but none of them is "121" or "PSAA8E".
I don't know if any of those drivers are compatible or where to find compatible drivers.

I still hope toshiba has kept somewhere drivers for older laptop models.
The laptop was bought a few years ago from Spain.

Answer:Re: Cannot find drivers for Satellite A100-121

I?m really wondering you cannot find drivers on Toshiba download page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

I mean if there you can find drivers for A300 or higher it is logic that old models may be listed in Archive, right.
So please visit download page again and check archive.
It can be chosen in ?Product type?.

Where can i find the driver for this model?

Answer:Can't find drivers for Satellite A100 (PSAA5A)

As I can see you have Australian notebook model. I?ve checked Au support and download page and there is no support (not listed) older notebook models like your A100.

Which operating system do you use? I ask this because you can find drivers on European support page. It is just important to find model with identical or similar hardware platform.
You can check this on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp under ARCHIVE.

Answer:Where can I find Vista 64-Bit drivers for the Satellite A100-049?

Hi!

Normally you get all drivers on the Toshiba website but Toshiba does not offer 64bit drivers for all notebooks.
In most case only for the new notebooks that came with 4GB RAM.

What can do is to search on external websites for 64bit drivers.
Here are some examples where you can search:

http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/

Good luck

unfortunately there are no older versions of these packages you posted available since they (toshiba driver guys) are replacing the drivers with the newest versions so the older one are not available anymore.

Hi everybody,
I'm desperately looking for display drivers for my ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (Satellite A100 PSAA9E)

The ones that can be found on the Toshiba website were last updated in 2007! And they are totally useless on most 3D applications!
Any idea where I could find these?

Many thanks in advance

Answer:Satellite A100 (PSAA9E) - Where I can find new display drivers?

Hi!

Normally you can find new display drivers on the Toshiba website as you said but I think in this case you can do nothing.

I have checked the ATI/AMD website and there I can find newer drivers for the Mobility Radeon X1400.
But it?s on your own risk to use these drivers because they don?t have an overheat protection. The graphic card can be damaged.

By the way why you want to update the driver? Do you have some problems with the notebook (in games)?
Sometimes it?s useful to search a patch or update for the game and OS.

Please, I need Your help.

I bought 4 days ago an Toshiba portable computer, detail spec is in attachment (Satellite A100-768, dual core)and with it came Vista system with directx 10. I wasn't satisfied how things work on that system (there's no game that worked on it NFS3, NF CARBON, ST LEGACY) so I decided to reinstall system and put XPSP2, and I did.

Now, I was aware that I need to find drivers, so I looked on site, and I didn't found exact match with model, so I download drivers for Satellite A100-S8111TD (american site of toshiba) but only for sound, blue tooth, hotkey, utilities, and so on, but only for wireless driver I did not (50megs Hugh through 50k modem).

I downloaded also Intel drivers for motherboard and graphic adapter, and all that work fine, BUT!!!
One problem come out, driver for sound card doesn't work -- driver installation goes fine, but it won`t start.

In device manager there are 3 question mark and one ! mark for sound card it says that can not start, code 10.
3 ? marks are for Network adapter, Ethernet, Mass storage <- what drivers that I need to download to get reed off it.

One of drivers that I downloaded did something in Command prompt window, and I suspect that he flashed BIOS and now I have TPM error. This TPM I found in security tab in Bios, but I can not change it, it wouldn't let me.
And one more thing, still, no game woudln`t start, what is happening

Please, give me advice, I am desperate

Answer:Satellite A100-784 (PAAANE) Cannot find XP drivers - unknown devices

Hi

First of all you can also try to download the drivers from Toshiba European page.
There are also XP drivers from different A100 series.

Anyway, I assume the sound does not work because the wrong XP driver was installed.
Different A100 series supports different sound cards.

As far as I know your A100-784 unit supports Realtek ALC 861 HD audio sound card.
Therefore you have to use the driver from Realtek.

The notebook supports also an Intel 945PM Express Chipset code name CalistogaPM + ICH7-M. I would recommend installing the Intel chipset diver. You could find it on the Intel page.

The question marks appear in the device manger because you need compatible drivers!
I assume you will need the LAN and WLan card driver.

The notebook uses Intel 82562GZ (Ekron) LAN card and therefore you have to look for the driver which support this chip!
I?m not sure about the WLan card but it seems it?s an Atheros WLan card.

As I said above? try the drivers from different A100 series and goggle additionally for 3rd party drivers.

good luck

Hi Newton_1,

It?s nice that you have founded this forum and post here a little bit but some important informations are missing.

Which OS you have?
How did you reinstall Windows (Microsoft or Toshiba disk)?

Furthermore it would be interesting to know what you mean with Ethernal driver. Do you mean Ethernet driver?

Normally if you reinstall Windows by using Toshiba recovery disk you don?t need a special driver. Everything is preinstalled on your computer.

The battery model no in the laptop was PA3399U-2BAS. A supplier sent a replacement - its no is PA3399U-1BRS. It said it had 95% capacity yet when the power cord was pulled out the laptop died and would not restart without plugging the cord back in.

Would this battery have been an acceptable replacement? The laptop will run on its old battery with its reduced capacity and does need to be replaced.

Any thoughts?

PA3478U-1BRS(9cell),
PA3478U-1BAS(9cell),
PA3400U-1BRS(12cell),

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 SK4 with French version of Windows XP SP2. A coupe of weeks ago I spilled some tea (no sugar) on the keyboard. Shut the power down, although it took me a few minutes longer to realize that the battery needed to be removed as well. Left the laptop turned upside down for three days to dry. After that it powered up OK but the keyboard was totally out of sync (typing other characters or not functioning at all). Removed and cleaned the keyboard - there were no visible signs of residue anywhere else. Reinstalled the keyboard but it was just as before.
Got a USB keyboard and was able to use the laptop for a couple of days. Then, suddenly it just will not power up. HDD is fine I have removed it and just backed everything up on a USB using another computer. Reinstalled HDD, F2 and F12 are working but it still doesn?t boot. Toshiba splash screen appears once in a while but mostly I get a dark screen with or without a cursor in the upper left corner and the LED indicator does not come on to indicate that the HDD is present.
Only once, after reinstalling the HDD did I get past the Toshiba screen and Windows, sent a couple of e-mails, deleted all photos, opened internet, got Skype and Net Viewer connected and working. Everything (except the keyboard) worked perfectly fine. Decided to close and try again. Windows updates were installing on exit. Computer shut down after install and will not power up again.
Looks like it does not want to read C... Read more

Answer:Toshiba Satellite A100 SK4 not booting

STATUS UPDATE: managed to pass beyond the Toshiba splash screen by hitting F12 and forcing to boot from HDD. Desktop is up and all prgrams loaded. Running diagnistics from Assist Toshiba: all drives present and working fine. CD in the drive and playing. Go figure! But since I am afraid it will not power up again, I'll leave it on for the night. BTW I have removed the battery, it is too weak for the comupter to run on battery itself (amber light blinks) but when the AC in in the battery light goes blue.

Answer:Satellite Pro A100 - No Recovery CD - Can I use the Toshiba key?

Hi

The serial key which you have found at the bottom of the unit belongs to the preinstalled Toshiba Windows OS and it?s a OEM key which will NOT work with other Windows XP disks.

This mean that if you want to install the Windows XP on this notebook then you have to purchase the Toshiba Recovery disk again from the ASP in your country or you will take a original Microsoft Win XP disk and will use this disk and the key which belongs to this Win XP OS.

You?ve got these two options.

My wife's laptop is a Satellite A100. She has been using Windows 7 on it since the Beta, and she has been having a good experience with it. I was able to install the ATI drivers on the Win7 Beta without issue. And I was able to change the resolution from 1024x768 to something more tolerable.

Now that I have installed Win7 RC on her machine it doesnt allow me install the ATI Catalyst drivers. It says "Failed to find any installable components" and then my only option it to quit.

I also tried via "Device Manager" to update the driver and it allowed me to select the INF for the ATI driver so now it says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Series" as the chipset.

Under "List All Modes" the highest res is 1024x768.

Any idea what I should do? Why did this work with Beta but not now? I saw the sticky about Catalyst drivers but my old display adapter isnt mentioned there on the AMD site.

Thanks,
Rezilient

I have ordered a 1GB stick of memory from Crucial and decided to have a trial run accessing the memory slot. The single Philips head screw retaining the memory cover is easily unscrewed but does not lift out of the cover. The cover then seems to be reluctant to lift off. Does anyone have any info on this seemingly simple task as I do not want to damage the lappy?

Answer:Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 memory upgrade

and the memory cover comes off without too much trouble. Make sure the screw is fully undone, and then gently lever off the cover using a screwdriver or knife under the small tab.The cover has two smaller tabs on the sides, and these click into (and out of) slots.Just take it gently but firmly, and I'm sure the cover will come off.

I have this Laptop since 2006 and i dont feel like buying a new one ($$$$), i only wish i could change the processor to unleash it from its 32bit slowness. Is it possible to make a 32bit laptop 64bit compatible by changing the processor? If not could i change the motherboard or it would be too much of a hassle?I'm new to this whole game and willing to learn.Thank you!

Answer:Can a Toshiba A100 Satellite 036 Laptop be upgraded?

Simple answer: NO.Here is why.A 64 bit processor must be used in a motherboard built for the larger memory space. Because the advantage of 64 bit is mostly the larger address space available. (Many laptops already had a 64 bit data bus.)Laptops are not made to be updated like desktops can be.The notable exception is a laptop that allows a video card to be added. Here is how a laptop could be upgraded.(Follow the links in the above web page.)IMO, you may consider selling your laptop and getting a new one. A lot of improvements have been made in the past 9 or ten years after you got your laptop. For one, the batteries are now better and now fast laptops use less power.. And, of course, they run either 32 bit or 64 bit software. How good it would be if our computers were easier to upgrade.Hope this helps.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-259 laptop and I want to upgrade the RAM from 1gb to 2gb, which is supported by this laptop. Problem is the laptop will not boot up after I have installed the new RAM, instead it starts up for a few seconds and turns off again, it then repeats this process about 5 - 6 times before switching off totally.
I initially thought the RAM wasn't compatible but when I put one of the new 1gb RAM modules in with one of the original 512mb modules the laptop boots up fine and shows 1.37gb of RAM available (I presume remainder of RAM is used for graphics). I can change the 1gb module with the other 1gb module and laptop still boots fine, proving that the new 1gb RAM modules work in this laptop independently, they will just not work together. Bios has been updated, so I have absolutely no idea why the new RAM will not allow my laptop to boot up.
Any ideas and / or solutions to this would be greatly appreciated.

I am wanting to format and reinstall windows back to its factory state as its running really slow. I dont recall on having a recovery cd on buying and was told i just need to push an F key on boot up as recovery files are on hard drive. Is this correct?

Answer:Re: Toshiba Satellite A100-332 Recovery Question

No this is not correct. On this older notebook model Toshiba didn?t offered HDD recovery image. Recovery image is saved on DVD media. When you want to install recovery image using DVD recovery media you can use F button at the startup.

To install HDD recovery (if saved on HDD) there is another way to do this.
So what you can do is to order original recovery media or install operating system using Microsoft installations CD/DVD.

I have a Toshiba A100 Satellite psaa9a-118038 notebook. When I put a CD or DVD into the drive the disk spins up and in many cases it causes the computer to freeze. The only way to get out of this 'locked problem' is to hold the off/on power button to close the computer then restart again. I have taken the notebook into Toshiba for repair 3 times, the CD has been replaced. A problem CD that was copied on their computers then the copy run on mine does boot up and runs without problems. The tech at toshiba suggested my problems could be related to having installed the software for my Lexmark printers, and this has caused my problems. He suggested that the CD rom had picked up some code the then prevented other cds beinag able to load.Has anybody come across this problem before and can you help with a solution. Because this problem has been going on for a number of months I feel like dropping my Toshiba from a high building and never buying another Toshiba, but I may damage the pavement!

Answer:Toshiba A100 Satellite CD/DVD drive problem

I dont see why Lexmark software could be the cause, however have you tried uninstalling the Lexmark software and run ccleaner click here and reboot, then try your cd/dvd drive again.Couple of things to try;Uninstall the drive in Device Manager and reboot, let windows find and install the drive again.Check the drive is set to DMA and not PIO,reset tool click hereReset the drive with this tool from Doug Knox click hereFinally look for and remove any upper and lower filters,Then follow these directions for clearing the Upper/Lower Filters: (might want to print this out)1. Click on Start --> Run --> and type in 'regedit' followed by the enter key ( if Vista Start search or windows+R )2. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key (looks like a folder) by double clicking it (or3. clicking the "+" next to it.)4. Expand the "SYSTEM" Key5. Expand the "CurrentControlSet" Key6. Expand the "Control" Key7. Expand the "Class" Key8. Please look for a key containing the following string of letter and numbers:{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}9. High light this key by left clicking once on it10. On the right hand side you are looking for "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" under the "Name" column, once you find these please delete them by right clicking on them and choosing "delete"11. Please exit the registry by clicking on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the screenReboot your computerA few things to try out,if no joy post back.

are you sure you?ve downloaded the appropriate Assist for your machine? Maybe you confounded the models or something. The first step which I can suggest you is to:
1. Download, install and execute some registry cleaner
2. Uninstall the Toshiba Assist
3. Repeat step 1.)
4. Install the latest version of the Assist
5. Check if it works - if not check the Driver Download site and *update* *all* *drivers*

I have been having Google misdirect issues. Hitman Pro 3.5 picked up syntp.sys as a trojan on my laptop which has a touchpad below the keyboard. I reloaded touchpad drivers from the Toshiba website without first removing the program "Synaptics pointing device driver" in the add/remove program section of Windows XP. Result was the keyboard and touchpad not working but USB mouse still functioning. Seemed to clear up misdirect issue when using google and the mouse Restored computer to prior state where everything is now working and syntp.sys trojan is present based on Hitman scan. As well on checking the device drivers I noticed the presence of (cmd vmkd) Virtual Bus with an "i" enclosed in a yellow circle opposite it in the directory. I understand from blogs that this is an issue.

I also have Symantec Antivirus installed and on checking the folders, I see that it recently quarantined a file called "vbmaefc.sys" - Hacktool Rootkit.

Any help you can give me to clear this up would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I am using Windows 7 Professional - not the RC.
The Fn + Brightness Up/Down doesn't work - in fact, none of the Fn key combinations seem to work. The slider controls through control panel > power settings OR the windows mobility center, do not work either.Any known causes/solutions to this problem?

Answer:Toshiba Satellite A100-SK8 Screen Brightness

Hi,

We need to install a driver (or program) for the Function key combinations. It should be provided by the computer manufacturer.

I tried to search for the A100-SK8 but failed to find it. Please refer following link:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

If your computer can be found on the website, let's check if there is any newer program related to Fn key function. If so, download and install them.

If failed to find, we may need to contact Toshiba for further help.
In addition, I suggest that let's confirm with Toshiba to see if Windows 7 is available for the computer. If there is no Wnidows 7 driver provided for the computer, some function keys may not work.

When I try to activate the HW Setup a message box appears with the message: Gemeinsame Module wurde beendet.
I thought a programm would guide me through the HW Setup as described in the Toshiba Benutzerhandbuch.

What I really wanted to do is:
1. I have to connect a second monitor to my notebook today in the evening.
2. When I hit Fn+F5, my screen gets dark. Hit Fn+F5 again: screen is normally activated.
I expected to see a selection box where I can choose the monitor configuration. (This happened in the past).
3. In order to check my settings I wanted to use HW Setup as described in the Toshiba Benutzerhandbuch.
Result: Look above.
Can you help please?

Hi All,

Has anyone faced a problem where the Laptop freezes on Toshiba Leading Innovation. The strange part is that when you plug the laptop to an external monitor, everything works fine.
I tried to replace the LCD, Inverter, VGA (its Nvidia 256), LCD cable and still the same problem.
Upgraded the bios to version 6.0 still the same. Read in some forum that downgrading to version 5.90 will solve so did it but still the same.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the TPM error I am receiving. when I turn on the laptop and press Esc before it freezes, after the memory check it says like "No TPM or TPM has problem" (note that this error is displayed even when you plug to an external monitor but on external everything works fine. and after loading windows if you switch the monitor to the laptop LCD the laptop works fine with no problems)

I check in Bios, the TPM option is grayed so you cannot enable or disable it from BIOS.

Answer:Satellite A100-906 - Freeze @ Toshiba Leading Innovation

hi magadem,
try the following:
- apply new thermal greas on cpu & gpu
- update bios to the latest available
- after bios update *disable* TPM in bios
- reinstall grafics driver with the latest available *on toshiba* download site

porblem solved? good!
if not:
if this action dont solves your problem the tpm-chip and/or mainboard has a serious problem...
then you have to chabge the mobo...

since these mainboards are highly integrated circuits there may occour errors and side effects that seem not to be related to the main problem,
but be sure it can!

Answer:Solved: help to reinstall VISTA OP on toshiba Satellite A100

Reinstalling is sometimes the best and fastest way to sort out a problem, but can also be a major time drain and source of frustration. If you prefer you could detail exactly what problem is prompting you to reinstall, and we could consider addressing that instead.

The process will empty your drive itself, which means that you don't have to do any wiping (unless you want to sell/give away the computer). It also means however that all programs and files on your computer will be lost. Make backups of important files (Documents, pictures, etc) before you reinstall.

Another point to bear in mind if you suspect a Virus caused the problem, is to ensure that you install Anti virus software immediately, before trying to replace your backups.

____

If you have two disks one will be for the Operating System (Windows) and the other will have Toshiba Software and drivers. Make sure that you use the Operating System Disk.

To use the recovery CD you have to boot from it--basically load its own Operating system which does the work of replacing Windows. You don't put it in while Windows is running--Windows very sensibly protects itself from being overwritten. When your computer first turns on and before you get to Windows, you should see the POST screen. At the bottom it prompts you to press F2 for Setup or F12; you have to press F12. Actually the easiest way is to repeatedly press F12 from the moment you turn it on until you get the menu.

The menu in question should give y... Read more

I upgraded Toshiba Satellite A100-998 with XP Media Centre to Windows 8 Pro. Before upgrade the screen resolution was 1280x800 on a NVIDIA GeForce Go7300 graphics adapter.

However I facing with the problem that all this buttons do not work until I need to open the program- TfncKy.exe in the C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA Controls. It is so inconvenient for me to open this program every time after I shut down my computer.(It works fine when I hibernate the laptop). So guys, I really hope can seek some valuable advice from you. I just bought this laptop one month ago. I look forward with the solution here. Thanks. =)

Answer:Satellite A100- Toshiba Controls Program -TFncKy.exe

Hello,

Did it initially work or has it always been this way? If it worked initially, try downloading a BIOS update, and then download the Toshiba controls program as well and reinstall it. If these do not work, go to start-->Control Panel-->Administrator Tools-->Services. From there make sure that the program is activated automatically when the computer is turned on. Hope this helps you.

Hallo,

I just had an upgrade from Windows Xp to Windows 7.

I downloaded and installed all the drivers for this model from Toshiba web site, including the ATI mobility radeon X1600 driver and the Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Controller 0.

Later, while trying to set the screen resolution, I realized I could only choose between 1024x768 or 800x600, but i am sure that before upgrading I could set also the 1280x800 resolution (maximum display resolution). In fact the display resolution was much better than now.

Can you please help me? How can I go back to the maximum display resolution?

Thank you in advance and kind regards.

Hi,

The problem is that XP installs correctly but I can't find the drivers on Toshiba Download Page.
The laptop TYPE is PSAAQE witch is not listed. I tried to use the drivers from other A100 PSAAxxx series but XP does not accept them. I only succeeded with the Intel graphic card driver ... How can I do ?
I sent a mail at Toshiba support in France and they redirected me to the same drivers download page that DO NOT contain any driver for my Laptop ... (it's not listed there).
It's mandatory for me to use XP-Pro because we use it for industrial automation, so I can not use Vista ! seriously, Have I bought a PC that do not work on XP ????

Help!

I've installed xp Pro on a friends laptop (on his request), but I can't find driver that work to install the lan and w/lan.

I've tried the intel lan drivers but they only appear to un-install, the hardware has the normal yellow question ? against it.

I'm having the same problem with the w/lan, neither drivers pickup the w/lan after installation. It makes no difference if I install the management software either.

I mucked around for hours but just can't get either detected and working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Equium A100-320: Can't find correct drivers for Lan and W/Lan for XP Pro

Hello James

All drivers, tools and utilities are the same for WXP Home and Professional. Please visit Toshiba download page and download all stuff from there. Be careful which notebook model you choose. It must be PSAABE model.

Before you start installation read ?Installations instructions? document and install all stuff in listed order. That?s all!

Notebook A100-097

I am experiencing a problem with my keyboard's special *FN keys* managed by the program "*TACSPROP.exe*" which is in *C:\Programmi\Toshiba\Utilities\.*
This program is not starting automatically at boot and also if I run it manually from it's path a window is coming saying *"Questo sistema non può utilizzare Toshiba Accessibility"*(in Italian: "*This system cannot use Toshiba Accessibily*").

I cannot identify the proper installer for the program in the list of drivers you provide on the support download page but I can tell you that the program is in the same directory where the Software *Hardware Support* is installed.

Please, can you provide me with the installer for this program? I think I'll have to try reinstalling it.
Is it possible it has been marked as a Spyware from Vista or AVG? Maybe some windows update changed something...

Please HELP!!!

Thanks in advance

Answer:Toshiba Accessibilty TACSPROP (Fn keys) is not working on my Satellite A100

Hello

These kinds of problems are very strange for me and I am asking myself why this happen. The fact is that recovery image (recovery DVD) is very good configured and there is definitely no problem with FN keys usage. All those FN keys functions are tested and it must work well. All necessary services will start with OS and you must be able to use all FN key functions.

I do not want to speculate what is wrong there but I can not imagine you have this problem from the first day.

Now the question is: why this happen to you? Do you use factory preinstalled OS or you have installed your own OS version?

Hi

I have just bought a Satellite A100(psaa8)
I have found with it a paper tells that I can upgrade to Vista and theirs a link but it doesn't work.

So can you please help me with that, as i have get bored from XP.

I have read that some of the members ordered a free vista cds.
Can you tell me how I order it and is it good or bad??

Answer:Satellite A100 PSAA8: How to order the Toshiba XP -> Vista upgrade CD

Hi

As far as I can remember this offer was limited by date! I think you are too late dude!
But why you are bored?! The XP is really nice OS and fully compatible with all 3rd party devices!
The Vista needs much more recourses as XP and runs slower as XP. If you want to play games on your notebook I would recommend staying with XP! All the games run faster on XP OS!

Do you know the Vista Customization Pack?? This allows you to use XP but it looks like a Vista.
You know, the whole images, icons, etc? will transform to the Vista look.

It?s nice and for people who wants to change the ?old? XP style to new Vista style ;)

I download new driver for nvidia video card from toshiba site, but when I try install it, I receive response what no supported video card found.

I install driver to A100-003 notebook.

Answer:Satellite A100-003: Cannot install the new NVidia driver from Toshiba site

Hi,

that sounds really weird. Are you sure you?ve downloaded the right drivers for your machine? Which system do you have? XP or Vista?
Maybe you?ve downloaded a Vista version and you have XP. It would be useful and nice if you tell which system you have.

An other solution would be to visit this site:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

There you will find the newest drivers which must work. But be careful before you install something and read the FAQ section on the site!

Good luck and nice weekend

hello everybody!
I've just installed Vista on my laptop (originally i had Win xp on it)
First i have installed video drivers from toshiba.com
Then I've installed bios update and toshiba value added package.
But toshiba power manager doesn't work!
Vista uses only its tools to manage battery.
Can you help me?

Thank you!

Answer:Satellite A100: Toshiba Power Manager doesn't work

Why do you suggest that the Power Saver doesn?t work correctly?
Do you get any error messages or what?

The Toshiba power saver for Vista is not the same like for the Win XP.
You can find some additional options in the Vista Power options!!!

There you can choose an between 3 different power option.
Choose one and click on the link below ?change the Power options?

The new window should appear and there you can click on the link called ?Change Advanced Power settings?.
In new window you could see the Toshiba Power Saver settings.

I have this notebook and installed the Vista Ultimate on it. Where I can find the Toshiba Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center - there are not these Tiles on the page with the drivers for this kind of Toshiba notebook.
Or they are not nesessary for the A100-233?

Answer:Satellite A100-233 (PSAA8) and Toshiba Extended Tiles for Vista

Hi

Such titles are not necessary to get better Vista performance on the Satellite A100!

All available Toshiba Vista utilities and drivers can be found on the Toshiba European driver page. If you will not find this tiles on the Toshiba driver page then this application is not available.

But before you will give up you should download the Toshiba Vista Value Added Package because this package contains many additional tools a utilities like
- TOSHIBA Components Common Driver
- TOSHIBA Power Saver
- TOSHIBA Flash Cards
- TOSHIBA PC Diagnostic Tool

Best regards

Hi.

Yesterday I did a BIOS update on my Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E-03Z00QGR with the appropriate flash:

http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=153&selProduct=624&langua ge=17&selOS=10&selType=all&yearupload=&monthupload =&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=userMachines&search =&action=search&macId=&country=all&selectedLanguag e=17&type=all&page=1&ID=58477&OSID=-1&driverLanguage=42

bios-20070709111839.zip

After the flashing procedure the machine rebooted automatically, but unfortunately it now keeps hanging at the Thoshiba welcome screen. Also pressing F2 or F12 won't change anything. It seems like the BIOS is corrupt.

I saw, that in the BIOS package are delivered two flash files (s10gm590.rom and s10pm590.rom). But just executing the SanAntonion10 BIOS590MP.exe a .vbs script is started that decides automatically chooses and loads a flash file. Maybe it chose the wrong one?

What shall I do now? Is there a way to restore the BIOS, or do I have to send my notebook in?

Thanks in advance

MAT

Find the next nearest authorized service partner (you can find one by using this link: http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp )
and bring your machine to them. By the way you should explain that guys what happened so they can do something for you.

Download and install the CCleaner tool. This tool repairs the windows registry. It?s for free. Repair you OS.
Then download the right ?common modules? for you notebook series from the Toshiba page and install it again.

After new reboot check if the Toshiba control buttons functions!

Hi,

I' ve recently had problems with my laptop. The probem is that it can't complete a simple automatic function wich is:

Trying to hibernate, standy by, shut down, or restart.

(I am using windows xp home edition)

For example say I want to shut down the computer I normally follow these steps: start menu > turn off computer > turn off.

Then evetually it gets to the screen with the blue backround that says: "Windows is shutting down...", and just stays there and doean's shut down so I have to press and hold the power button until it switches off. So, basically it doesn't complete the function.

The same thing occurs when attempting to Hibernate (stays on the screen saying "Prepearing to Hibernate", Stand by "Stanting by" something like that and on restart it goes to the "Windows is shutting down..." screen.

I don't know exactly why this is happening but I'm assuming some sort of windows problem or a harware problem. I tried to do System Restore but that didn't work because it goes to the same screen again as I mentioned above. I read somewhere that it might be something to do with my profile being to large but im not too sure about that. I asked my uncle about it and he said I should save everything I need and format my computer and then I would have install windows on it. Im thinking that there should some other solution
but I don't know.

Please help!

Thanks

I have A100-599 with Vista pre-installed. As you know there is Toshiba Power Saver bundled with vista mobile power settings. Not always, but sometimes when I turn on the computer and windows starts I get this message "Toshiba Power Saver service couldn't start".

When I checked in Control Panel->System->Services if the service indeed off I saw that it did start and is running.

Can someone tell me why this message sometimes pops up? Is it a software issue or may be there is a problem with the hardware?

Answer:Satellite A100-599: Toshiba Power Saver service couldn't start

hi,

The simplest way to solve this issue is to recover the OS with the Toshiba recovery CD.
In this case all programs and the whole OS should works without any problems.
You have suggested that you have the recovery CD. Use it.
Before you will start this procedure, make a backup of your all important files

Hi

Is there any other URL where I can get updated version of Toshiba Power Saver for my laptop Satellite A100 PSAARE other than the drivers homepage?

It seems that it is not controlling CPU fan anymore (it keep it always at maximum speed).

Also, I've noticed the graphic card (GeForce 7600) too noisy.

If the monitor is off I can't hear it (just the CPU fan), but as soon as I start working it's audible and like a continuous small beep.

Is there any fix (software/hardware) for this?

Regards.

Answer:Satellite A100 PSAARE: Toshiba Power Saver + Graphic Card noise

Hi

The Toshiba European driver page is an only place where you could get the drivers and tools for your Satellite A100 PSAARE European model.
At this time it?s a Power Saver v7.03.07.I for Windows Vista!!!

But I have to say that I don?t see any software problems on your notebook.
The cooling modules and fans have to run with higher performances to ensure that your hardware parts could be cooled properly.

Maybe a cooling module cleaning could help to improve the internal cooling and to reduce the noises.
From time to time I clean my notebook ventilators using the compressed air spray and then the fans run quieter.

Hello

Where can i find drivers for Windows XP 64-bit drivers for my laptop, Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 (PSAACE) Series? I was looking on
[this site|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU], but there are only for 32-bit version of Windows XP.

Thank you

Answer:Need WXP 64-bit drivers for Satellite Pro A100

Yes, you are right? on the Toshiba European driver page you will find only XP and Vista 32bit drivers.
It looks like the Vista 64bit drivers are not released especially for this notebook series.

But don?t give up buddy;
Many notebooks series are equipped with the same devices. SO try some single Vista 64bit drivers from other series which supports the same devices.

Furthermore you can search on some external 3rd party websites for Vista 64bit drivers.
Many chip manufacturers provides the own Vista 64bit drivers for own devices.

US notebooks have different model description as European notebooks. I have checked your other postings and I presume you try to find Vista drivers. Am I right?

The fact is that the list of tools and utilities for WXP and Vista are not the same because some of them do not exist anymore. That's all.

All WELL WORKING drivers, tools and utilities you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
