Preferred Solution: Disable Signed Driver Checking doesn't work

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Disable Signed Driver Checking doesn't work

There is a hotfix you have to uninstall

Uninstall hotfix KB938979 and then you should be able to disable driver signing via the F8 method, or the BCEdit method...

This has irritated me for a while, and I've seen others affected by it. I share folders for Guest access that I want to be able to connect to from any computer in the house (Windows/Android/whatever) without any password or login details at the client end. The folders are all set up with full 'Everyone' access under 'security'. So long as I'm signed in (on the 'server' end) as a 'local' user, everything works just like under previous Windows versions - as long as the Guest user has been enabled. However, if I use a new-fangled Microsoft Account to sign in on this pc, none of the shared folders can be accessed any more, from any machine, whether that machine is Windows or Android. I've seen people surmise in the past (when they too have been affected by this 'feature') that being signed in to a Microsoft Account somehow causes network security to work more like it's a domain machine.

So, basically, I just wondered if anyone has had any bright ideas about this 'feature' and maybe even a way to bypass it from this end, so it just works as intended at the client end?

I just updated Java to Version 7 Update 10 on FireFox 17.0.1But when I go to the Java website to check the version on my computer... it says..."Something is wrong. Java is not working."My FireFox then has this little pop-up at the top that says something about a missing plugin.I've tried reinstalling it and I even tried uninstalling it and installing Java 7 Update 10 again. It didn't work and I'm still having the same problem.Java updated fine and the site check worked fine on my Window 7 laptop. This issue is occurring on my Windows Vista desktop. Can someone please help me out here and help me resolve this issue? I'd really appreciate it.Thanks.P.S.: I already tried installing this so-called 'missing plugin' when the thing popped up on my FireFox but then it said the plugin failed to install.

Answer:I updated Java but checking the version on the site doesn't work (FireFox)

I suppose the problem could be either the firefox browser or the Vista O/S. Have you considered using another browser and trying the Java upgrade? That might point to the source of the conflict.truenorth

Hello,I'm using Windows 7 on a T500, and I have encountered some strange problems, which seem sort of related: 1. Windows update installation ends with error code 80070670 Windows Update_dt000 2. My Bluetooth mouse (Logitech V470) required driver installation, but the process ended in failure; 3. I tried to use Lenovo System Update, but the process took much longer than usual, and didn't finish My internet works normally. I scanned the computer for viruses, and there were none. I tried an earlier system restore point, and it didn't make a difference. Does anybody have a suggestion what could be wrong?Regards, bostjanv

Hi guys, i really hope that here someone can help me. I'm trying for 2 days to get windows 10 works corrrectly with dpi scaling but nothing. After installation everything is fine but after a while, and some programs installed, something goes wrong. I use rocketdock like dock for years, and disable dpi scaling doesn't work and the dock become too big! The same for everything other programs installed, games included and windows ui . I have a pc connected to a tv full hd 55 inch, and obviously i have changed the size of text and ui with the two method available but nothing. I really suspect that something is conflicting with windows, because with a fresh install the problem is non existant for a while. I don't know if is the graphic driver, i have a 7950 so catalyst 15.7.1 but i really suspect it is. Other program can cause this ? Like antivirus or firewall ? I'm using avira and comodo, in this regard.

Answer:Disable dpi scaling for high Dpi for programs doesn't work.

I found the culprit, it was comodo firewall, is incompatible with windows 10...

Answer:KB4016240 win 10 pro: disable lock screen policy doesn't work

That would be because major changes were made to Anniversary and Creators update that does not allow for that to be enabled unless you are on a domain or using a Volume edition.

I have a Qosmio x305-q705 I just installed windows 7 home premium.
Now my FN+F9 function does not work. I am trying to disable my mouse pad because I use a mouse and when I?m gaming it messes me up.

What do I need to do to disable this feature?

Answer:Qosmio x305 - "disable mousepad" option doesn't work

The core Toshiba drivers will be missing if you install a generic version of Windows.

You need to install the Toshiba Value Added Package for Windows 7.

Go to this page:

Then choose the Qosmio X300, select 32bit or 64bit, then download and install the TVAP.

Also check the Toshiba US Website, it may have a later Value Added Package version

You may also want to install the latest BIOS, just in case you have an earlier BIOS that doesn't support Win7.

I recently bought a C.D. and wanted to upload it to iTunes and put it on my iPod, but it would not load. I thought, "Oh, it must have a security thing." So I tried it in a C.D. player. It worked. I tried once more with the computer, and it failed. The driver shows up. But there is no C.D. I even tried another C.D. to see if it was just the one I had bought, but it wasn't. Any ideas?

Answer:My CD Driver doesn't want to work.

Hi lol_alex_lol30 and welcome to TSF

I can help you with some basics, but you will need to check further to get all the data you need, as I don't upload to iTunes.

I'm assuming you bought an audio CD. I'm also assuming that iTunes would like to see MP3 audio files....You will need to find that out. This though, is true. When you burn an audio CD from music files, those files are most likely in the form of WAV on your harddrive. They are burned onto the CD with a .cda extension and are named track 1, track 2, etc. The song names are not shown on the CD if you view it with Windows Explorer.

Extracting songs from an audio CD to harddrive is called ripping the song. Songs end up on your harddrive in the form of "songname.wav". songname will be Track1, Track2, etc. and you will have to rename each to have the actual song title associated with the song. WAV files are quite large and about 24 songs is the maxium that you can burn onto an audio CD.

Mpeg level 3 (MP3) is a compression specification that can be used to make much smaller audio files. A 20,000,000 (20 meg) WAV file will compress into a MP3 file that is about 2 meg or less. A file that is 10 to 11 times smaller than the WAV file. I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that small files upload much faster than very large ones. Also you can put about 240 mp3 files on a CD, but only about 24 wav files. You could also appreciate that your ear can't tell the difference between the sound of... Read more

I?ve got some problem with my W-LAN device. Recently I?ve got a strange feeling about it because some things didn?t work correctly, so I decided to reinstall the driver. It didn?t work directly (I don?t know why), so I tried to uninstall it first, to install it again. Now I got this message:

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

An update for the latest driver was useless because I already got the latest one. I tried both installing it from the device manager several times, which failed everytime with this message to come, and by the driver setup (there is a folder available on my computer with all drivers installed on it), which seemed not to have any effect, although it said "Installation complete". Has anyone a solution for me?
I?m going to reinstall my Windows soon, but it?ll take some weeks to that. But until that, I need my W-LAN to work again!
I?ve got Win 7 Home Premium 32bit, my W-LAN device is a Broadcom 802.11g, my notebook is a Lenovo G550.

Thanks for any help, Bennington

Answer:Reinstallation of W-LAN driver doesn't work

First go into Device Manager (right click on Computer and choose properties, then Device Manager), then go ahead and delete the Broadcom device under Network adapters. Then try and install only the most recent Lenovo supplied driver for your laptop model. Let us know how that goes...

Dear Sir,
yesterday I installed windows 7 home premium x64
Before installing nvidia driver it runs well with windows default video performace (800x600).
But after installing nvidia driver, it doesn't work perfectly
MY problems after installing nvidia driver
1. It runs well before showing the start up window (welcome window where I have to entry my password)
2. But when I run the windows in safe mode it works perfectly
3. You can say that it is for driver problem / driver software problem. But I used the driver in the previous windows 7 home premium x64
If you need anything related with my problem, then comment in down

Answer:Doesn't work video driver

Hi rx123yz. Your issue sounds like that Windows have installed its own drivers over new ones that you installed. Remove all the old drivers and use Driver Sweeper. This little software removes all the bits of the old drivers. Below is the link to download the S/W. Before uninstalling the old drivers, download the latest drivers for your card from Sevenforums or from Nvidia site and install them after uninstalling and sweeping off the old drivers with driver sweeper.

In Windows 7, I am trying to figure out if I have any faulty drivers. I have been having BSODs for a while, and I've removed RAM etc. So the next step was to test drivers.

But I can't run Driver Verifier. No matter which drivers I select, the Driver Verifier causes a blue screen as the windows 7 logo starts to come together. I have to clear the settings in Safe mode to get it back.

Is there any way to fix this, or any other way to check my drivers?

(My most recent BSODs have said caused by dxgmms1.sys and tcpip.sys -- lots of IRQL_not_less_or_equal and system_thread_exception_not_handled.)

Answer:Driver Verifier Doesn't Work...

The purpose of Driver Verifier is to cause a Blue Screen of Death.
Analysis of the memory dump files will then (if it's worked) let the analyst know what driver caused it.

You'll know this because there will be a Driver Verifier Enabled memory dump.

FWIW - I had a system at work today that would spit out the IRQL error messages, but not the Driver Verifier Enabled error messages. I finally enabled all settings in Driver Verifier and then rebooted. An hour and a half later the system was still booting with the Windows 7 splash screen.

The point here is that the settings that you use in Driver Verifier are critical - and are determined by the type of BSOD events you are getting (for example, if you have BAD_POOL_CALLER errors, then you want to enable the POOL checking options in Driver Verifier).

Please zip up the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump directory and upload/attach the .zip file to your next post.

Hello. I have Radeon HD 3850 AGP and Win7, and I tried to do almost everything ...
I installed 9.12 drivers, 9.12 drivers with adding CL_91526 from the topic above), 9.11 drivers, 9.11 drivers with Hotfix (ATI), 9.11 drivers with adding CL_91526, manual driver install by right click . Absolutely no changes and everytime the same ... During and after installing (before reboot) no changes in Device Manager, having "ATI Radeon 3850 " (or "ATI Radeon 3800 series" or something like that...) with yellow triangle and Microsoft Co. driver. And after reboot no changes with it, an error message with something like "Driver didn't install correctly, please install proper driver" ( though in ATI install log you can see that everything was installed succesfully). So after reboot I still see my VGA like "ATI Radeon 3800 series" with Microsoft driver and of course no changes in monitor resolution and all. If I try to delete microsoft driver (and device), and then install radeon drivers , during installation I absolutely just don't have any VGA in Device manager. And after reboot Win7 "finds" VGA and install from internet microsoft driver, so I can see "ATI Radeon HD 3850 (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)" in Device Manager.

I think that radeon drivers don't install (or don't install correctly), and Win7 ignores (or doesn't see) them.

Please help... Maybe I do something wrong ?...

Not every systems hardware is up to running windows seven Install AGP Drivers for HD 3850, 3650, 2400 PRO This is the only method I know of that will install the agp driver, Are you sure you are following the directions EXACTLY the way they are written and installing form device manager? Hey guys,

Yesterday I formatted and reinstalled windows Vista on my new Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop. I've gone through the whole driver CD, installed everything there, but wireless still doesn't work! It doesn't find any networks. I realize that the drivers CD just has the default 1720 drivers, so some things might be different (for example, the default video card is 8400, but mine has an 8600, and the driver for that isn't on the CD). Perhaps I require a different wireless driver?

If that is the case, how do I know which one I have and where to get the propoer driver for it?

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you.

I do like my Portege laptop which I bought this September. The only thing is that the DVD player doesn't seem to work since a while.
- When I put a DVD or CD, I realize I cannot turn freely the disk in the player while it is still open. Strange, but I cannot see anything blocking the turning of the disk.
- The system doesn't seem to recognise at all having a DVD player. In the beginning it worked, I can't tell when exactly it went wrong. I checked with Toshiba Assist: in the information panel it states no info about the DVD player, in diagnosis panel I have the option for checking the DVD but when testing the system is just skipping the operation all the time stating that player cannot be found.
- In control panel I cannot see it neither among hardvers
- For booting, DVD is a last thing to check in my BIOS settings. But actually when the laptop is booting I can hear the sound of the player looking for something inside, turning or trying to turn the disk but it seems getting always stucked and booting takes like 5-7 minutes because of long trials getting DVD player work unsuccessfully.
- Now even when I set energy setting to perf oriented, I can't hear anymore the system would be looking for DVD (in energy saving setting the player gets switched off while not using it)

Could somebody from Toshiba support help me? Is there any possibility to check this problem with remote connection to my laptop or something? Or should I take it to the service? With this I have... Read more

Answer:Portege R500 - DVD driver doesn't work

>Could somebody from Toshiba support help me?
For that you would need to get in contact with Toshiba ASP in your country.
Here in the forum you can get some suggestions form common users because it?s a user to user forum ;)

>Is there any possibility to check this problem with remote connection to my laptop or something?
I doubt this is possible since this could be a hardware issue?

>Or should I take it to the service?
Maybe this would be the best?

>I would need a station in Tokyo where they accept my European warranty. Could you please provide me any help or ideas? If possible by direct mail also
On the Toshiba European page I could find a info about TOSHIBA EMEA LIMITED WARRANTY FOR NOTEBOOKS.
This warranty is only applicable in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and may be enforced in any
EMEA country where Toshiba or its Authorised Service Providers offer warranty service subject to the terms and conditions provided in this
warranty. This warranty covers the costs of service parts and labour required to restore your System to full working order.

As you see Japan is not covered by EMEA region :( So I doubt that the warranty will cover the costs in Japan.

My HP 450 G1 Laptop touchpad doesn't work after upgrading to Windows 10 Creator 4/2017.

I googled and attempted solutions with many times of uninstall/reinstall driver but it still doesn't work.
Here is images about Mouse Setting and Device Manager in my laptop:

There's no Synaptics tab in mouse settings nor Enable option for Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad in Device Manager.

I tried drivers from both HP site or Synaptics site but it cannot help. Moreover, my touchpad doesn't work in Bios mode.

I'm sure that my touchpad hardware still works well. It backed to work one time when I tried to fix this problem 2 weeks ago (don't remember how I fixed in this time). However it doesn't work in next reboot PC till now.
Now I just can use USB mouse only.

Purchased this refurbished All-in-One yesterday and am doing my initial set up. The built in Intel RealSense Camera does not work. First noticed this when I tried the MS Camera App and got back the error message "We can't find your camera. Check to be sure it's connected and installed properly, that it isn''t being blocked by antivirus software, and that your camera drivers are up to date. If you need it, here is the error code: 0xA00F4244(oxC00D36D5). So I have been troubleshooting. The Anti-Virus is the McAfee that came pre-installed. I perused the firewall section of its configuration panel and saw nothing to suggest McAfee was blocking the camera. Then I went online to HP support. Note: The troubleshooting section for built-in all-in-one cameras is non-existent. The troubleshooting info for external cameras was not helpful. But I did find advice at HP to go into my device manager and reinstall or update the camera drivers. So, I went into the Windows Defice Manager. There is no camera driver listed either under Imaging Devices or Sound, Video, Game Controllers, the two places suggested to look. In fact, the only related driver I can find is under System Devices there is an "Intel RealSense Camera Virtual Bus Enumerator". That probably isn't it, but I updated driver anyway and was told by system I already had the current driver (for whatever that ... The Toshiba ATI graphic card driver from the Toshiba European drive page works!

I don?t know what you did and what notebook you have but usually there are different A300D series and you should firstly ensure that you have chosen the right series in the driver download form before you would download any drivers!!

After you have downloaded the driver, unzip it and then execute the setup file.

HP Deskjet 610CL driver doesn't work with Vista. HP Support in Bombay, India says "You should buy a new printer."
Printer still works great with windows 2000.

So should I remove Vista & install Windows 2000 on my PC or is the a driver somewhere that will fix the problem? Don't tell me to go to HP website. BTDT, it teels me that the driver is already installed on Vista. That's the one that doesn't work.

Anybody know ANYTHING about this problem?

Hi, I recently purchased a T400 (Type 2764) with the ATI HD 3400 graphics card and Windows XP (I don't want to run Vista). Whenever I start my computer, however, I get a message saying that the ATI card has no driver. I understand that Lenovo decided to not pre-install the particular driver for XP and as a result I've tried downloading the driver from both Lenovo and ATI, but neither seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:T400 Graphics Card Driver Doesn't work

The 2764 version of the T400 has switchable graphics. If the original preload was Vista, then switchable graphics were enabled. XP doesn't support switchable graphics, so you must choose between the Intel or ATI card. From Lenovo support doc, MIGR-70665: For switchable graphic machines, boot into bios via F1, select config -> display and set the following parameters: Default Primary Video Device [Internal] Boot display device [Thinkpad LCD] * Graphics Device [Discrete Graphics] ** OS detection for switchable [Disable] * Change this setting to VGA or DVI if the machine will be used on a Advanced Dock** Switchable Graphics is a Windows Vista feature only. Set the Serial ATA setting from AHCI to Compatability mode (this will prevent the BSOD 0x7B error on booting the XP media. Terry

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum, I'm not sure if this should be in graphics cards or drivers...or somewhere else entirely.

I have an Intel 845GL Chipset....I can't find a driver to make it work using Vista.

Do I have to buy a new graphic card? Or am I missing something easy, or is there a work around?

Answer:Work around? Intel doesn't supply a vista driver.

Ok, I am resolved to replacing my video card.

I've never replaced a video card before, but I've upgraded memory, installed a hard drive and a modem replacing a video card more complicated than that?

And, where should I start in determining what is compatible for my system/Vista etc?

But the Sound Driver from Toshiba Download Site doesn't work.
The installation works without any errors, but Windows doesn't find a sound card and I can't hear anything.

Can you help me?

Sorry, now it works.
The problem was, that XP named the Sound card "PCI Device". Now I've installed the driver and it works!

Answer:my vn7-571g-51gc pc's graphics driver doesn't work...

If you had the problem with windows 8.1 too, it might be one of those things where you can spend hours (days) trying to troubleshoot or you can reset to your computer to see if that helps. Those are my only suggestions that I can think of is to try all three graphics drivers. If you uninstall your graphics driver, and then reboot your computer, Windows update should install a new driver for you, but that can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on your internet speed. In the meantime, it will load the basic graphics driver while you wait for the new one to install.

The Stylus Pro 7600 is now a really old printer, the last supported driver was for XP but it worked in Windows 7 and I believe to some extent in 8 although I never did try it.

It s a really good reliable large format printer though and very affordable in parts, ink and the second-hand purchase price.

However alas Windows 10 doesn't like it, I did the upgrade to 10 (and then the downgrade) from windows 7 but it will not see the driver it sees the device but calls it a USB high speed device or something like that and compatibility mode didn't seem to help.

So unless there is a clever work around and I'd love that to happen I'm stuck on Windows 7 for the duration.

My boss bought a new HP tower after our old one ran out of space. I plugged it in and everything worked until I realised the scanner didn't work. I downloaded a driver but it still didnt activate the scanner. So I looked at the driver repair discs that came with the tower. I installed that thinking it would repair the scanner driver and when I logged back in, the keyboard or mouse USB didnt work. I hope I didn't screw up anything. The keyboard works in BIOS. My boss doesn't know and I would like to get this repaired without bringing anyone in. HELP! Im on Windows 7.

Hello Colleagues!
As you can see, I have an Inspiron 15R 5537, which I used to use to run Windows 8.1. Recently I've updated for Windows 10 HOME 64bits. Everything is running fine, except the cable ethernet driver. I've tried Realtek 8105/8106E LAN driver (recommended in Dell support website for my computer), without success. Then, reading some foruns, tried a couple of different drivers, no success at all.
The computer doesn't recognize the cable connection when put it inside. Seems like the driver is dead... The thing is it was running fine in Windows 8.1.

Do you have any recommendations for fixing this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Answer:Inspiron 15R 5537 - LAN Ethernet Driver doesn't work

Check the device manager - is there an entry for the wired Ethernet port, and does it show a properly loaded driver?
If it does, and you still don't get a connection, try a new Ethernet cable and/or a different port in your router to rule out a bad cable or port.

Yesterday I reinstalled Windows 7 on my notebook PC. I had to use a Microsoft installation disk because unfortunately, serious errors resulted after I installed from the HP recovery program. Consequently the HP drivers that were installed automatically with the recovery program weren't installed on my system. I had to install several of them from the HP support site. I got everything to work except for the Touch volume control, or the Volume Scroll Zone as referred to by HP in the service guide. This is the device located just above the keyboard that increases or decreases speaker volume when you drag you finger on it. I installed the Quick Launch button driver but that only applied to the mouse and pointer touchpad. I looked at the devices listed in my startup configuration. I saw the synaptics pointing device and the HP quick launch buttons listed. So is the IDT PC audio driver. What am I missing? Where I can I find it to activate the touch volume control?

My G510 came with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. I didn't want that, so I installed Windows 7 instead. After that, I downloaded this driver (WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo G410, G510) using a different computer. I copied the driver to a USB thumb drive. Then I installed the driver on the G510. The driver installed without any errors. However, I still can't enable the wireless adapter. Device manager shows missing drivers for several components (as expected) under "Other devices" but I am not sure which one is the wireless adapter: BCM43142A0 (I believe this is the bluetooth adapter)Ethernet ControllerNetwork ControllerPCI Simple Communications ControllerSM Bus ControllerUniversal Serial Bus (USB) ControllerUnknown deviceUSB2.0-CRWControl Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections shows no network adapters at all, but Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features shows Lenovo_Wireless_Driver is installed. When the installer runs, it copies the files from the "C:\drivers\WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek)\Broadcom\\Driver\Win8" directory to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\Lenovo_Wireless_Driver\Win8" directory. I believe the problem may be that this is in fact a driver for Windows 8 and not for Windows 7 as indicated. I thought at first I may have just downloaded the wrong driver (I was careful to select the right one), but after downloading it again, I confirmed that I have... Hi there!
I just got my new Asus Vivobook s400ca running Win8.1, a few weeks ago.
It really runs great, although I managed to find one problem. Since this is a laptop without a detachable screen,
I didn't really find any good reason for having the touch keyboard toolbar () in my task bar, since I was pretty sure I'd never need it. So I disabled the keyboard, which worked out fine but the toolbar was still there.

I then went on to try to remove it by using one of EightForum's .reg files for that purpose.

This did, as described, remove the toolbar, but apparantly it stopped the mouse pad driver as well, even though the mouse pad itself basically works. (no gestures or scrolling though.)

As you can see here, There's no driver running.

And in the ASUS hub, it's also impossible to turn it on. It just keeps saying it's off.

So I decided to use another .reg file that I found with the initial one, that should basically just rollback the effect that the other one had, but to no avail.

It just made the toolbar come back.
So I don't really know where to go from here. Any suggestions?
Also, if there is anyone who knows what to do about that toolbar, please do tell! [:

Thanks in advance! [:

we have a Portege Z930 with Windows 7 64 bit in use where the Intel Display Driver seem to work incorrectly.

First problem is the slow presentation on display - if we open a picture (simple JPG) and move the window, the window frame will break during the move and be shown very bizarre.

Next we installed a dynadock U3.0 docking station for using two external displays additionally. This works even worse. For the docking station we used the driver from the CD included on delivery, and we connect it over an USB 3.0 slot.

On booting switching onto the 2 displays instead of the internal notebook display doesn't work - so we use the workaround of using an extended desktop over all 3 displays (2 externals and the internal notebook display as third).

In Internet Explorer we had to switch off GPU Rendering and use Software Rendering instead because otherwise we observed critical misfunctions on the external displays (having 2 windows open the display froze or couldn't show moving windows). Nevertheless the display is not satisfactioning.

We already tried 3 different versions of the recommendet Intel Driver which is also offered by Toshiba for download; we loaded it there and also 2 more versions (one newer, one older) from Intel directly.

So how can we get that working correctly?

Thanks in advance and regards,
N. Cochems

Answer:Portege Z930 - Display Driver doesn't work correctly

Most importantly. make sure you have Win7 Service Pack 1 installed. New notebooks have problems running in win7 RTM (no service packs).

Sounds like Windows is using the standard VGA driver instead of the Intel driver. Uninstall all the display drivers from Control Panel->Programs and Features then go to the Toshiba website and install the Intel Chipset Utility then the Intel Display Driver, then go to and install the latest DisplayLink driver for the dynadock. The new DisplayLink v7.xx driver fixes many problems found in the v6.xx drivers.

Double check that the Intel drivers are installed correctly in Device Manager.

Hello, I'm experiencing a problem with the audio on my IdeaPad U510. At some point my audio suddenly stopped working so I thought I could just uninstall the audio driver and reinstall it. It did not work at all! I tried uninstalling the audio driver, deactivating the audio controller, restarting and reinstalling the audio driver after restart (version for the U510 from the lenovo homepage). After the installation I was asked to restart and after I did so the audio icon in the bottom right corner still showed the "x"-sign which means it's still inactive. The hardware-manager shows no problems and shows that it's activated but when I click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner the troubleshooting starts and it says that the audio device is deactivated. Ok, so I've re-installed Windows XP (SP2) and after it booted up, I noticed that my onboard ethernet adapter wasn't recognised. So I went and downloaded the appropriate drivers ( from the mobo's official site (it's a PCChips M848A mobo) but when I try to install the drivers, it still says that the hardware isn't functional (Code 1).

I've tried many different versions of SiS900 drivers but it simply won't work.

When I tried the setup.exe file that came with the official driver, the install would say "Update Driver for PnP Device Fail. Setup will exit".

That's when I simply forwarded the windows hardware installer to an XP folder i found in the zip file. But still, it doesn't work.

I really need help on this matter. Thanks in advance...

EDIT: Maybe it's worth mentioning that I re-installed WinXP over an existing windows partition without formatting it. I simply deleted the former windows installation files.

I'm trying to add a Canon imageCLASS MF7470 printer to my laptop. When I plug it into the USB, Windows 7 detects it, but as unspecified. It says no driver is installed. When I go to add printer, properties is as far as I can go cause the only tabs I get there are general and hardware. This is a work printer for a jobsite, so of course the disk has been lost at some point, but I need this running ASAP.

Here is the driver page for Canon, just specify your OS, download drivers, install and go at it could be that MS just doesn't provide them. However Canon does for both 32 and 64 bit.

Answer:driver is not digitally signed

"Not digitally signed" means Microsoft have not tested this driver and verified it to be compatible with Win XP. This does not mean it will not work, you should click on the "continue anyway" to install your print driver. If this is a concern you should check the HP web site for newer driver tested by MS.Kim

I have been trying now to install drivers for my Panasonic Digital Camera, which installs itself as a ZIP drive (it uses a 3.5 100MB ZiP disk instead of memory cards), and Fusion Dazzle which is an analog to digital convereter. Both plug in via USB. They used to work perfectly until I had to reformat and reinstall Windows on my computer.

I now get an error message that it is missing certain files (which ARE on the system) and it is looking for "C:\PCLEUSB.drv". When I point it to the correct driver location I get an error message saying that this driver has not been digitally signed to be compatible for Windows XP and will now exit installation.

I am using the most current drivers from the manufacturer and they say that they are Windows compatible and I am the first to have this problem. So far, they have been unable to assist.

Any suggestions?

Answer:Driver not Windows XP signed

usually the program will ask you if you want to continue, I have never experienced where it just "exited" on it's own. I always continue regardless but it is up to the user.

PeerBlock is a fork of the popular Peer Guardian 2 software. Well the folks that are developing it have just received a legally signed driver for PeerBlock which means that it will run on Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) without the problems that were plaguing Peer Guardian 2.

You can check it out at PeerBlock Development

I'll try to keep this brief:

> Upgraded GFX cards to 2 x Asus EAH4980 (ATI Radeon HD4890 architecture) from NVidia 8800GTS

> Performed full format on HD and reinstalled Windows Vista X64 Home Premium as well as SP1 and SP2

> Installed chipset drivers etc.

> Installed bundled VGA drivers (8.592)

> Installed miscellaneous software/games

System was running very stable and performing well in Benchmarking tests and games. I then tried to update the VGA drivers to the latest versions, first from ATI's own website - Catalyst 9.8 with VGA driver displayed in Device Manager as 8.640 - and then from Asus' website - displayed as 8.630 in Device Manager.

No matter what drivers I update to I am met with BSOD errors as soon as I try to run any kind of media on my PC. The dump files/dxdiag info etc. is attached to this post.

Upon investigation I note that one driver is not loading and is listed as 'not digitally signed', namely

This driver is an AsusTek release. It appears to load ok before I perform these driver updates. I can find no reference to any issues with it either on Asus' forums or elsewhere so this doesn't appear to be a common problem.

I've tried to locate a signed version of the driver to no avail.

Any solution would be very much appreciated.

I recently got a docking station for my laptop (Dell precision M65 w/WinXP Pro SP3 all updates) and when I plugged it in (after all the plug-n-play stuff detected the new docking station stuff), the mouse plugged into the dock USB port would not work (it worked fine previously when plugged into the laptop USB port). I undocked and plugged the mouse back into the laptop's port but it still didn't work.

I went into the device management applet and and tried to update the driver. There was nothing under "Mice and other pointing devices" except the PS/2 touchpad. Under "Human Interface Devices" there was an entry called "HID-Compliant device" If I deleted that device and then did a "scan for hardware changes" I would get the "found new hardware" popup in the tray and then breifly see "Dell USB Optical Mouse" during which the mouse would work but within 2 or 3 seconds it would switch to "HID-Compliant device" and then inform me that my hardware was ready to use at which point the mouse stopped working.

After much screwing around with the device manager and various other USB mice, I found that I could use the "Update Driver" right-click menu item to force the driver to "HID-Compliant mouse" by bypassing all the "Automatic" stuff. This resuted in a working mouse, but I have to do this every time I turn on the laptop.

I have noticed that while following the dialogs during... Read more

Answer:Satellite P100-221: nVidia driver from Toshiba site doesn't work

On the Toshiba driver page you will find several P100 models.
As far as I know Satellite P100-221 is a PSPA6E-xxxxx model.
You have to choose the right notebook and then the right driver!!!
I don?t know which OS you use but on the site you will find XP and XP MCE

Therefore be sure that you use the correct driver.

I'm in a bit of a problem here. I came back from a little trip and when I started my gaming computer my network adapter didn't work anymore. After some work on my computer I discovered that my driver didn't work anymore, code 37 (the driver doesn't get initialized). Now I've been trying to get different new drivers but none of them work. All this was checked from the device manager.

The driver that stopped working was "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller". I've also tried the 7.61.612.2012 version but that didn't work either.

If it is relevant my mobo is:

Asrock 870 extreme 3
True 333

Does anyone know how to solve this?

All of this has of course been posted from my laptop.

Thank you!

Hi guys,

I?m in a little need of assistance.

I?ve got windows 7 ultimate, and downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site.. installed almost all of them (only the ones important, not face recognition etc.. -.-)

Doesn?t matter what I do, I try to install the AHCI and the Display drivers, but it?s like it isn't installed, only have access to a minimal resolution. The OS is 64 bit, the drivers to 64 bits too, I don't know what to do more.

Recovery CD doesn?t work for me, because I?ve bought it in Portuguese, and it doesn't let me change the language to French, only with the ultimate version I can put in French.

Please help anyone.. I?ll offer a Lamborghini Gallardo to the helper :PPP

Hi, I had some issues with a HDD around this time last year, so I replaced it with a new western digital HDD. I wasn't able to back anything up, so I cloned it instead.

turns out I installed the incorrect driver for my video card and suffered from the BSOD syndrome....

well, I finally got that sorted out, ( I think ) and now I am trying relentlessly to get catalyst pro control center to work properly. Ive read numerous places online that involves editing the Assembly folder, but I have no such keys in there.

when I try and run CCC, it tells me that I am unable to run as I wouldn't be able to change any settings within the app basically. Ive tried uninstalling, installing. trying ATI opposed to AMD- to no anvil.

I know for a fact that I had CCC on this pc, but it almost seems impossible to get up and running, I am very desperate to get this up and running.

thanx in advance

A couple of days ago, i helped a friend localize a computer problem, which unfortunately resulted in, that my own computer doesn't work now. We were testing whether it was her Graphics card or the monitor that was defect, and we did this by disconnecting my own monitor and then connecting hers. This was done while the power was turned on. When we connected my monitor again, (Samsung Syncmaster 206BW), it switched between digital and analog mode a couple of times, and then went to sleep mode. The monitor is normally connected to a Geforce 8800GT, so i wondered why the monitor did not work this time. I Put the monitor cable in the motherboard (Asus M2A-VM) onboard graphics plug, and restarted the PC. Then i checked the BIOS, where it said that the main display adapter was the PCI-E16X port, although the monitor was plugged into the motherboard. I then saved the settings and logged on the PC to see if it was a missing graphics driver I went online to check for other drivers a couple of times, and all of a sudden my internet didn't work. I have had the same problems with the graphics card the first time i installed it, but i quickly fixed it. I have tried to fix the way way i did last time, but i doesn't work. I do not know what to do now.

Satellite Pro P200, purchased Jan 2008.

Managed to disable on board speakers somehow, trying to turn them off so that when I had the USB speakers up loud the built-ins wouldn't interfere with the sound.

Installed P200_X200_Audio_Vis3264_6015477_1.exe driver.

Speakers work fine now - microphone doesn't.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave

Answer:Satellite Pro P200: Reinstalled audio driver - microphone doesn't work

Have you checked the audio settings in Windows?
Maybe the microphone is muted or the volume is on the lowest level. Did you check this?

Furthermore I would recommend reinstalling the sound card driver. Remove the old version first, restart the notebook and then install the newest version from the Toshiba website.

Are you running the factory settings or have you installed your own Windows version?

Got a nasty surprise today - unlike the other major manufacturers, who offer one year free tech support, Lenovo does not. $179 for a contract or $89 to cover a single incident. Thanks, guys. :-/ Here's my problem. G780, bought last October. Upgraded from Win7 Home Premium to Win8 Pro.A few days ago, the built-in keyboard stopped working. It works in the BIOS, but when you boot into Windows, Windows doesn't recognize it. There is a PS/2 keyboard driver and a HID Keyboard Device that show up in the Win8 Device Manager. I'm assuming those are the drivers for the built-in keyboard. If I plug in a USB keyboard, it shows up in the Device Manager as an additional HID Keyboard Device. Through trial and error, I discovered that the keyboard still works fine when the Elan touchpad driver is not installed. The problem with THAT: I can't disable the touchpad unless the driver is installed, and if the touchpad isn't disabled, it'll screw me up because I accidentally brush my hand up against the touchpad while typing. I've also noticed that sometimes, the touchpad icon in the system tray shows up with a CAUTION icon overlaid on top of it (you know, the little yellow triangle with the exclamation point). I can't figure out why, and I can't figure out what changed on my computer that caused the keyboard to stop working properly. I've tried uninstalling the Elan touchpad driver, downloading the latest driver from the G780 support web page, and reinstalling it. No... Read more

Answer:G780 keyboard doesn't work, but ONLY when Elan Touchpad driver is installed.

hi stevesobol,
Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Are you also able to type your password on the login screen but after that the keyboard gets disabled? If this is the case, check this article as it's similar to the keyboard issue.
As for the Keyboard not working when the ELAN touchpad driver is not installed, this is surprising as I've never heard this issue happen before. Are you not able to disabled the touchpad via Fn+F6 even if the driver is not installed?

Hi to everyone

My problem is that I can't hear the sound playing in my pc and that's wierd.

I looked through all the threads but still I doesn't get a way to fix my problem even that my pc has the same way which is mentioned in the some threads here in MG.

Also I have make a Everest scan report and attached here

Can you any of you give me a simple way of solving this problem.
Also I had to mention that I used to do disabling then uninstalling, Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio after this uninstalling driver rebooting pc installing driver latest version 2.60 and still it doesn't work.

What to do any way to solve this problem?

Answer:Realtek high definition audio driver doesn't work can you give me any help?

Greetings, kkOr4b, and welcome to MajorGeeks.

Odd - your report is showing a VIA VT8237A/8251 High Definition Audio Controller, not a RealTek.

Is this an OEM machine (Dell, Gateway, etc.)? If so, what is the make and model number, Service Pack #, etc.? And, are there any flags showing in your Device Manager?

I would guess that a reload of the VIA chipset drivers for your machine is in order, but we need more info before recommending the correct package.

I like using third party themes, and the best thing that I've found to allow it is to use a patched uxtheme.dll (along with the other files). But Virtual stopped running when I have it patched, so I have to unpatch the file every time I want to start a VM. I asked on their forums, and they said they do not plan to fix this and that I am better off getting a self-signed uxtheme.dll. I don't know how to go about doing this, and I can't find any online myself. I don't want to try the other ways to allow third-party themes like installing services, because I've found they don't work all that well compared to this way. So, has anyone found any "signed" version of a uxtheme.dll that allows third-party themes? Or do you know another way to solve the problem? Thanks.

G'day. I'm trying to install my old VisionPLus DVB-T card into a Windows 7 O/S box and it won't recognise any of the old drivers. When I try to install the TwinHan Digital tv software, Windows can't/ won't install them.

I've downloaded and tried the latest (DigitalTV 3.4 Build 19-02_20090212) and windows comes up with "Driver not found". I've tried to install in compatability mode but still no good.

When installing the above, it identifies my card as “PCI CX-87A with MCU DVB-S/-C/-T/ATSC card”.

Out of all the available drivers on Twinhan's site, which would be the best for my card?

The one written for Vista would be my choice, probably not one for W7 yet, may never be.

Looks like MS ha removed a way to disable unsigned drivers protection in Vista64, so probably is the same for 7
The issue is known to affect PeerGuardian, TV tuner cards, Gigabit Ethernet adapters, CD/DVD-ROM/RW drives, and many other devices.Click to expand...

Looks like unsigned drivers are a no go for x64 Vista and Windows 7, well there are some workarounds in the article above, sounds like a hassle.

Good evening,

I just reinstalled XP on a friends machine that was pooched. It is a Dell DIM4400. Everything is working except for the sound card. It is a built in sound card. When the computer boots up the new hardware wizard comes up asking for a driver for a realtek AC97 Audio device. I have tried everything I can to install the driver but each time I try I get an error that the driver is not digitally signed and it won't install. If I try in safe mode it installs but I get a blue screen upon startup and have to reboot. I do not have the orignial Dell cd but I have tried every driver from the Dell site that should work on this model of computer. I have updated the chip set drivers on the motherboard etc. I just can't get this sound card to work. Any advice??

Hi, I finally have my File System mini-filter driver working great, and tested it a lot on Vista 64-bit using the testsigning boot option. All was fine.

However, when I turn testsigning OFF and try to start the service (the driver), I get the StartService failed with 577 - windows cannot verify the digital signature. Note that the driver in INSTALLED, and the Registry is updated, etc. I just can't start the service (even when running as Admin).

It is signed using a Microsoft cross-certificate, based on the original certificate issued by GlobalSign, as directed in MSDN. You can examine the certificate using the driver's properties, and all looks fine.

I also tried installing the certificate, but that made no difference. This should all be correct, except that it doesn't work!! Any idea what is going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I thought I was all done with this project, but since it doesn't work, I am currently screwed. THANKS!

So I just upgrade to Vista x64 and 4GB of memory (courtesy of OCZ).

However, when installing the x64 version of MagicDisc/MagicISO I get the following error:

Can I get around this?

Answer:Required Digitally Signed Driver?

Uhmmm... yes, you can by pressing F8 at boot time and choosing to ignore the warnings about unsigned drivers, but you have to do it each and every time you boot. There is a way to permanently disable that driver signing requirement but I'm leery to give out the info anymore since it hosed a few people's machines recently.

It wasn't my fault that they chose to continue using shitty old drivers, but they blamed me for the mistake they made anyway.

Vista x64 is a more secure and stable OS than the 32 bit version, and that's one of the primary reasons why: the driver signing requirement. Disabling it or 'getting around it' will more than likely end up causing you issues at some point.

Google can find the specific method to disable the signing requirement permanently, or a search here might find it since it's been posted about 3 times over the past 4 months or so.

Good luck, either way...
